His hyper-reactive optical imaging scanner allows him to process tactical information faster than ''anyone'' (except his twin). He teleported them all to [[Egypt]] before telling them the tale of the original [[Prime (ROTF)|Primes]], the [[Solar harvester]], which had the potential to destroy all life on Earth, and finally, the [[Matrix of Leadership]], the key to activating the harvester, and possibly the only thing that could bring Optimus Prime back to life. In robot mode, Skids features a "[[Mech Alive]]" [[gimmick]] that makes the fenders on the sides of his chest push out and his head move forward when the front grill is pushed inwards. Moving the head up and down through this gimmick may suggest it's meant to make him appear as though he is talking, but the packaging only says "Moving Armor Panels".

:Skids' right arm is larger than his left, just like his movie counterpart's. It features a small cannon that when pressed both makes the cannon stick out in a position more suitable for firing, and activates Skids' "Punching Robot Fist" action. Despite this, his right hand is surprisingly poseable.

The Autobots have found a home in "NEST", a secret military unit created to seek out and eliminate the remaining Decepticons. All is not well, however. Unbeknownst to them, Soundwave is in orbit, coordinating the Decepticon counterstrike. After Ravage steals the Allspark shard from NEST, a team of Constructicons and The Doctor journey to the bottom of the ocean and use it revive Megatron. The Decepticon leader journeys to the crashed Nemesis, rebukes Starscream, and meets with his master, The Fallen.

The Fallen explains that he had constructed a Solar Harvester on Earth, in violation of the Primes' code to never harm an inhabited planet. The Primes turned on him, banished and imprisoned him. However the Harvester still stands, and only one Prime remains. If Megatron destroys Optimus Prime, The Fallen will be freed to activate the Harvester, which will kill off the humans and provide the Decepticons with enough energon to raise an army. Megatron eagerly agrees, and returns to Earth with a vengeance.

It transpires that the location of the Harvester is hidden within Sam Witwicky, who absorbed the knowledge from another Allspark fragment. The Decepticons begin an all-out war across the Earth as they hunt down the human, and the Autobots and NEST are blamed for the ensuing carnage. Witwicky goes to ground, and must turn to unlikely allies in the race to find a solution. Ultimately, the last of the Primes defeats The Fallen, destroys the Harvester, and proves the Transformers' greatest power is found in their unexpectedly-ancient alliance with the humans.

==Full synopsis==
In 17,000 B.C., Transformers already were on Earth and built a machine.

Two years after the battle of [[Mission City]], the Autobots have teamed up with the American soldiers, including [[William Lennox|Lennox]] and [[Robert Epps|Epps]], in a secret team named [[NEST]] under the command of the [[United States military|US military]], but also incorporating soldiers from other countries such as the United Kingdom. Officially, the US government still keeps the Transformers' existence a secret. In Shanghai, [[China]], NEST tracks down the Decepticons [[Demolishor (ROTF)|Demolishor]] and [[Sideways (ROTF)|Sideways]] and kill them. Just before he is killed by [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], Demolishor delivers a cryptic message that someone named "[[The Fallen]]" will rise again.

Meanwhile, [[Sam Witwicky]] is preparing for his move to college when he finds a shard of the [[All Spark]] which brings numerous kitchen devices to life. After [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] has destroyed the kitchen robots (and parts of the Witwickys' house with them), Sam hands the All Spark shard to [[Mikaela Banes|Mikaela]]. He then tells Bumblebee to stay behind, since he isn't allowed to have a car at college.

Arriving at college, Sam meets his roommate, [[Leo Spitz]], who operates a [[The Real Effing Deal|conspiracy website]] and is convinced that alien robots are hiding on Earth. At a frat party, Sam also meets his fellow student [[Alice]], who attempts to seduce Sam. Whens Bumblebee shows up, she takes a ride with Sam, but Bumblebee does everything he can to convince her to leave. Bumblebee then takes Sam to Optimus Prime, who is convinced—for some reason—that Sam is in danger.

Meanwhile, NEST is visited by National Security Advisor [[Theodore Galloway]], who is convinced that the only reason the new Decepticons have come to Earth is because the Autobots are still there. Therefore, he suggests that they may leave the planet. When Galloway reveals the location of the All Spark shard Optimus Prime had picked up after killing [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] over an unsecure line, the transmission is picked up by [[Soundwave (ROTF)|Soundwave]], who is stationed in orbit around Earth, disguised as a satellite. Soundwave promptly sends his minion [[Ravage (ROTF)|Ravage]] to Earth, where he he infiltrates the NEST base on Diego Garcia and steals the shard. Ravage and several [[Constructicon (ROTF)|Constructicons]] then dive to the bottom of the [[Laurentian Abyss]], where the US military has dumped Megatron's remains. Using the shard and spare parts from one of the Constructicons (who is presumably killed), [[Scalpel|"The Doctor"]] is able to revive Megatron, who promptly travels to one of [[Saturn]]'s moons, where the [[Nemesis (ROTF)|Nemesis]] is used as a base by the Decepticons. He is awaited by [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]] and his master, The Fallen.

Meanwhile, Sam is starting to see [[Cyberglyphics|strange symbols]], and believes it may have something to do with him touching the All Spark shard. When he calls Mikaela to warn her not to touch it, a Decepticon named [[Wheelie (ROTF)|Wheelie]], disguised as a remote-controlled toy pickup, tries to steal the shard, but is captured by Mikaela. Mikaela promtply boards a plane to see Sam, but whens he arrives, she finds him in what appears to be an intimate moment with Alice. It soon turns out, however, that Alice is a Decepticon as well. Mikaela, Sam and Leo, who has stumbled across her robotic self by coincidence, try to escape, but are captured by the Decepticons. Megatron orders "The Doctor" to remove Sam's brain in order to access the information from the All Spark shard, but Optimus Prime and Bumblebee have managed to locate them and free Sam, Mikaela and Leo. Together, they attempt to flee, but in order for Sam to escape, Optimus Prime has to fight Megatron, Starscream and [[Grindor (ROTF)|Grindor]] all by himself. After killing Grindor, Optimus is impaled by Megatron and dies. Just then, the other Autobots arrive, causing Megatron and Starscream to retreat.

In a hijacked TV broadcast, The Fallen reveals his existence to the world public and demands Sam to be surrendered to him. Decepticons land around the globe, killing several thousand people. In Paris, [[Barricade |one of them]] tracks down Sam's parents, [[Ron Witwicky|Ron]] and [[Judy Witwicky]]. Galloway uses the attacks an as excuse to shut down NEST and have the Autobots placed under guard, while a manhunt begins for Sam.

Sam, meanwhile, is hiding out with Mikaela, Leo, Bumblebee and the Autobot twins, [[Skids (ROTF)|Skids]] and [[Mudflap (ROTF)|Mudflap]]. Leo eventually suggests they may ask his rival, "[[Robo-Warrior]]", owner of a [[GiantEffingRobots.com|competing website]], for help. To everyone's surprise, Robo-Warrior turns out to be non other than [[Seymour Simmons]], former agent of [[Sector Seven]]. Simmons reveals that symbols similar to those Sam is obsessed with have been found on numerous excavation sites around the world, but in order to read them, they may need a Decepticon. Mikaela then interrogates Wheelie, who suggests they may track down one of the [[Seeker (ROTF)|Seekers]]. At the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, they discover an old Decepticon named [[Jetfire (ROTF)|Jetfire]], disguised as an SR-71 Blackbird.

Jetfire claims he has defected to the Autobots and tells them about The Fallen, who betrayed his brothers, the [[Seven Primes|Primes]], many millennia ago. The Fallen intends to destroy the Earth's sun in order to create [[Energon (fuel)|Energon]], the Transformers' source of energy. The symbols in Sam's head are a map to the location of the [[solar harvester]], the weapon the Fallen intends to use to destroy the sun. Jetfire also reveals that only a Prime can stop The Fallen, and a key is needed to activate the Harvester, the [[Matrix of Leadership]]. Sam suggests that they may use the Matrix to revive Optimus Prime, which is backed up by Jetfire.

Jetfire opens a [[space bridge]] and teleports himself as well as Sam, Mikaela, Leo, Simmons, Bumblebee and the Twins to [[Egypt]]. Between the Pyramids of Giza, they find the next clue and travel to Jordan. On the way, Simmons calls Lennox and instructs him to get his team, as well as the dead body of Optimus Prime, to Egypt. In Petra, they discover the tomb of the Primes. Inside, Sam finds the Matrix, which instantly crumbles into dust into his hands. Sam collects the dust regardless, and together, they travel back to Egypt. Meanwhile, Lennox has tricked Galloway into parachuting out of the cargo plane, and eventually the NEST team parachutes down and prepares for battle near the pyramids.

Before Sam and the others can get back to Lennox and his people, the Decepticons start there attack. The Constructicons merge into [[Devastator (ROTF)|Devastator]], who proceeds to swallow Mudflap. Mudflap, however, is able to free himself, and together with Skids, they try to slow Devastator down. While the Autobots and NEST fight the Decepticons, Megatron intends to use Sam's parents to lure him into a trap. Sam, falling into the trap, offers to hand over the Matrix dust to the Constructicon [[Rampage (ROTF)|Rampage]], but only to stall for time until Bumblebee is able to attack and destroy Rampage. Ravage attacks Bumblebee from behind, but is killed as well. Sam then orders Bumblebee to get his parents to safety while he and Mikaela try to reach Optimus Prime's body.

In the meantime, Devastator has begun to to take apart the pyramid that has been built around the Harvester. Simmons calls a navy ship off the coast of Egypt and orders the use of a railgun, which is fired at Devastator and apparently destroys him. Meanwhile, Sam is mortally hit by the blast of a shot fired by Megatron. While paramedics try to reanimate him, the Matrix dust gets spilled across his hand, and Sam encounters the dead Primes in a vision. The Primes tell him that he was destined to find the Matrix and save the life of the last Prime. Sam returns to life, and the dust in his hand turns back into the Matrix. With the Matrix, Sam is able to revive Optimus Prime.

Just then, The Fallen teleports himself next to Optimus Prime, grabs the Matrix and teleports himself to the pyramid, where he uses the Matrix to activate the Harvester. Jetfire, who has joined the battle, killing [[Mixmaster (ROTF)|Mixmaster]] before being fatally wounded by [[Scorponok (Movie)|Scorponok]], instructs Optimus Prime to use his parts to battle The Fallen, and then rips out his own Spark. [[Ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]] and [[Jolt (ROTF)|Jolt]] then proceed to turn Jetfire's remains into a battle armor for Optimus Prime, who is then able to destroy the Harvester and kill The Fallen. After the death of his master, Megatron, who has been severely damaged in the battle, follows Starscream's suggestion and retreats.

With the battle won, the Autobots, NEST, Sam and his friends return to the USA on board of an aircraft carrier. Upon his return, Sam continues to attend college.

For the movie, Orci and Kurtzman searched the various ''Transformers'' comics and cartoons for "the most elemental bad guy", and eventually found one in [[The Fallen]].<ref name="sciforc"/>

In addition to that, they wanted to include many things in the sequel that hadn't made it into the first movie, including the Decepticon [[Soundwave (ROTF)|Soundwave]]. Likewise, the [[Matrix of Leadership]] had initially been intended to be used in the first movie, but for fear of confusion with the ''Matrix'' movies, the cube had been renamed into [[All Spark]]. In return, the Matrix in ''Revenge of the Fallen'' bears more resemblance to the ''[[Generation 1 (franchise)|Generation 1]] Matrix.

In late 2007, during pre-production for then-untitled ''Transformers'' sequel, the [[wikipedia:2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike|Writers Guild of America went on strike]], but according to all parties involved, this didn't slow down preparations of the movie much in the long run. Screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci turned in their first outline of the script the night before the strike officially began. During the strike, director Michael Bay used the script as a basis for preparing the movie. Since one Constructicon was killed to repair Megatron, shouldn't there be only five contacts going up as well? Given that this and the Transformers are the ''only'' changes between this universe and ours, that's a stretch.

Unfortunately for him, he kept getting stuck leading the first wave of attacks. To protect himself, he used an army of drone troopers (presumably [[Scorponok (Movie)|Scorponoks]]) to draw enemy fire. In the distant past, Blackout was a member of the Cybertronian Defense Force. During an attack by unknown aliens on the city of [[Metrotitan (Movie)|Metrotitan]], he could be seen picking up a wrecked enemy tank. {{storylink|Defiance issue 1}} In the aftermath of the attack, [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]] consulted with [[The Fallen|the mysterious relic]] dug up near [[Simfur]] and (essentially) declared a military dictatorship over Cybertron. Blackout followed Megatron and the other flight-capable soldiers into battle, using his special powers to disrupt the enemy flagship's targeting array. {{storylink|Defiance issue 2}}

Arriving soon after [[Brawl (Movie)|Brawl]] delivered news of Megatron's location, Blackout and Starscream witnessed the successful Autobot launch of the All Spark. Blackout restrained Starscream from going after it, the pair nearly coming to blows when Blackout launched Scorponok from his chest. Fortunately, Starscream calmed down, and after witnessing Megatron leave the planet himself, the group took on protoform transition forms and followed. {{storylink|Planetfall}}

Meanwhile, Starscream crew ''also'' went after Optimus Prime's starship in a Decepticon battlecruiser. Just before launch, Blackout listened to Barricade's not-so-quiet concerns that Starscream wasn't telling them everything. Unfortunately for the Decepticons, they were led into a trap by the Autobots, their ship (and Starscream's advance scout [[Dreadwing (Movie)|Dreadwing]]) was crippled by concussion chain mines. Blackout gave a detailed damage report when ordered but was berated for giving his observation on what had occured, and was ordered to despatch Scorponok to retrieve Dreadwing.

Making planetfall on Earth in Afghanistan, Blackout attracted the attention of a military vehicle of the local creatures. Witnessing the ease in which [[Wreckage (Movie)|Wreckage]] destroyed the carrier, Starscream pondered that Megatron would have been able to subjugate these beings if he was able to. Blackout replied that they needed to find out why he hadn't yet. Starscream's unit then attacked the nearby air base where Blackout scanned and adopted the form of an MH-53J 'Pave Low' helicopter, then easily hacked into the files of the human computers. Inside, he found files on something called 'Project: Iceman', which he suspected was related to Megatron. Upon discovering [[Ghost 1|a vessel similar to Megatron's alternate mode]], Blackout became convinced that Megatron was nearby. However, the Autobots arrived in the ''[[Ark (Movie)|Ark]]'' to investigate the ship, and Starscream ordered the Decepticons to wait while he investigated the alien ship. Growing impatient, Blackout convinced [[Frenzy (Movie)|Frenzy]] and [[Bonecrusher (Movie)|Bonecrusher]] to join him in an attack on the Autobots. Blackout, Scorponok, and Frenzy ganged up on [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], but he managed to defeat them, forcing Blackout to call for a retreat. After Prime headed to investigate [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]]'s disappearance, Starscream ordered them to attack, and Bonecrusher was given command. Blackout flew into the airspace of [[United States military|US]] [[SOCCENT Forward Operations Base]] in [[Qatar]] and refused to identify himself, prompting base commander [[Colonel Sharp]] to dispatch two [[wikipedia:F-22_Raptor|F-22 Raptors]] to escort the Decepticon into their base. One of the Raptors reported that Blackout had the registry number of 4500X on his vertical stabilizer, the number of the helicopter Blackout had scanned and destroyed three months earlier in Afghanistan.

Once landed, Blackout was surrounded by the soldiers stationed at the base and ordered to power down and disembark his crew, or deadly force would be used. Seeing no reason to hide himself any further, Blackout transformed under a hail of automatic weapons fire from the shocked humans. Activating his heavy machine guns and rocket launchers, Blackout made quick work of the soldiers closest to him, then unleashed a massive shock wave that killed the rest of the troops and shattered their vehicles and the windows of the operations control tower. Blackout made his way around the base, tossing tanks aside, crushing soldiers underfoot and blowing up aircraft. Eventually, he reached the operations bunker and tore off the roof to link up with their server and download its files in an attempt to find information on [[Megatron (Movie)|Project: Ice Man]]. Unfortunately, the base commander intervened, cutting the physical hard line of the server, severing Blackout's connection and thwarting the primary objective of his mission.

Still, Blackout carried out his second objective—the destruction of the human base. As he proceeded, [[Robert Epps|a human soldier]] was nearly crushed. Instinctively, the soldier recorded images of Blackout, the Decepticon indulging this brief moment of curiosity by looking straight back at the human. Blackout then activated a chest-mounted laser cannon to put the fleshling out of its misery, but before he could do so, he was struck by a grenade fired by [[Jorge Figueroa|another soldier]], and the human made his escape. Enraged, Blackout fired flare countermeasures into the sky to confuse any other attempts to attack him, then ejected Scorponok from his back and sent his minion to track the [[William Lennox|fleeing]] [[Donnelly|soldiers]]. Blackout then turned his attention and his weapons back to the rest of the base, eventually destroying it, leaving no survivors.

Evidently, after the attack, Blackout flew back to the [[United States of America|United States]], as he was in the vicinity when [[Frenzy (Movie)|Frenzy]] reported the discovery of All Spark's location and Starscream ordered their forces to mobilize. Blackout was the last to acknowledge the order, then rallied in Megatron's name, perhaps to remind Starscream who his master was.

Blackout arrived at [[Mission City]] just as the final battle was getting underway. Megatron's order of "Decepticons attack" must have been music to his ears, and he followed his master's commands whole heartedly. He attempted to block [[Sam Witwicky|ladiesman217]]'s path as the boy was trying to get away with the All Spark, before he was attacked by [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]]. The Autobot threw a car at Blackout, who fired his laser cannon to destroy the vehicle and knock Ironhide over. He flew ahead of ladiesman217, attempting to use his rotor weapon to kill him, but the human managed to dodge this attack.

Blackout withdrew from the battle for a few moments, but returned as [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]] and Megatron fought. Seeing his master under attack, Blackout came to the defense of his lord by activating his hand-held rotor weapon, but soldiers—including survivors of the SOCCENT base attack—attempted to stop him by painting him with targeting lasers for friendly F-22 Raptors to fire upon. As Blackout activated his cannon, he noticed the lasers targeted on him. As Jero countered with religious dogma, Talaria outright demanded that he show the Titans a sky god...at which point the injured [[Autobot]] [[Cosmos]] crashed right into the meeting. Talk about bad timing. As Talaria tried to convince the others that it was a trick, the [[Decepticon]] [[Astrotrain (G1)|Astrotrain]] arrived with his minions [[Thrust (G1)|Thrust]] and [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]], proclaiming themselves gods, hoping to use the Titans to mine [[energy crystal]]s for them. Following them to the temple, Talaria overheard Astrotrain mention that reconnecting a wire would allow Cosmos to reactivate. When no one was looking, Talaria connected the wire, which also activated his communications systems. Speaking with [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], Talaria had trouble relaying where Cosmos was (despite an otherwise perfect understanding of English), so the [[Prime (rank)|Autobot leader]] told her activate his homing beacon. However, Thrust and Starscream tried to stop her, but Cosmos reactivated long enough to allow Talaria to escape (and get shot again).

Fleeing into the forest, she she proceeded to fire arrows at [[Jazz (G1)|Jazz]] and [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]], who had been sent to rescue Cosmos. After the Autobot [[Sub-Commander]] talked Talaria down, she led them to the temple where Cosmos was, only for Starscream and Thrust to discover them (they have really good timing, don't they?). Unfortunately, Astrotrain detonated the energy crystals. Though the island was destroyed, the Titans managed to escape to another island with help from the Autobots. ==Detailed Synopsis==
With a surge of Spidey-strength, Spider-Man breaks free from his restraints. He thanks his irregular ally Doom for disabling Astrotrain. Ratchet and Prowl explain a bit of the situation to the webslinger, and what must be done.

Iron-Man, in his gigantic mech with power enhanced by energy contributions from the Autobots, faces against Megatron. To fight against his own draining energy, Tony's suit engages the supplemental power cells, but it's too much energy to be handled, and forces the suit into an overload. With a "zzzzzzat", Megatron removes the head from the armor behemoth. As Iron Man lies on the ground, Megatron notices that several Autobots are missing.

Wolverine, Bumblebee, and Jazz arrive inside the Decepticons' dome. The three find Prowl and Ratchet using Megatron's technology to receive a power-up from Spider-Man. Wolverine has the bright idea that his abilities can also be copied to enhance the good Transformers. When the Autobots are charged, Doom takes a few of party to destroy the [[Psycho-Prism]].

Outside, the enhanced Transformers and their amazing friends battle Megatron (including Iron Man, who wasn't killed by Megatron).

Inside, Doom's posse finds the Psycho-Prism. The Prism's defender, Ramjet, retreats rather than fight more. Wolverine destroys the prism with his adamantium claws. With the crucial weapon non-functional, the entire dome collapses.

The operation a complete failure, Megatron commands his troops to retreat. Before he can leave, Spider-Man. the rest of the Avengers, and some of the Autobots, beat up on Megatron a bit more. While the Avengers talk about the affair to each other, the Autobots sneak away. Leaving the site of conflict, the Avengers and Autobots both suspect that the identity of the Avenger's [[Quinjet]] has been taken by Ramjet, but that would be crazy.

Bulkhead snaps Prime's attention back to the present by donning a bedsheet (which just covers his head) and going "Boo," startling his leader. Prime claims a ghost from his past just has him jumpy, then stalks off.

Back at the Autobot base, Sari critiques Bumblebee and Bulkhead's costumes, but says her own costume is only one surprise planned for the night. Noticing Prime lost in thought, she uses her key to activate one of the car plant's cranes, swinging another spider decoration in his face. The unexpected sight of it gives Prime a bad flashback, and he quickly hacks the fake spider to bits. He admonishes Sari for making frivolous use of the All Spark Key, and she counters about him needlessly using his axe. Prime stares down at the remains of the decoration, and his thoughts travel back again...

''As Prime, Elita and Sentinel walk through the cavern, Sentinel enthuses about the rich hoard of energon he's sure they'll find soon. Prime shushes him as he hears something, and soon all three are casting their lights about, trying to pinpoint the skittering. The source reveals itself as an enormous, alien spider, which quickly traps Elita with some webbing. As Prime fights it off, Sentinel frees her with his charged shield, but the spider abruptly takes him down. Elita starts using her special power-download ability, but Optimus, holding back the spider, tells her it won't work on organics. She instead borrows the unconscious Sentinel's shield power and shield itself, using them to defend herself, then to bring down a huge stalactite to impale the spider. As Sentinel wakes up and Elita returns his shield, Prime says that it's not worth staying around, be it for history or energon. Sentinel still insists on one good reason to leave, and he gets three when another trio of giant spiders drop down to confront them. Sentinel quickly puts up his shield's energy barrier, covering Prime and Elita's retreat. Prime rolls out, and Elita follows, calling his name...''

Prime suddenly becomes aware of Sari calling his name to show off her costume{{m-}}a costume of him. He doesn't appreciate her vocal impersonation of him, and declines to join the trio on their trick-or-treat outing.

As Sari and the two Autobots progress though a local neighborhood, Bumblebee is a bit spooked by the atmosphere. Sari reminds him it's all pretend...unaware they're being tracked by an enormous spider traveling over the rooftops. As she coaches them through their first actual "trick or treat," Bumblebee spots the spider watching them and freaks out, but it's gone before anyone else sees it. Sari teases him for being more timid than Optimus, but 'Bee protests he knows the difference between a fake decoration and a real giant spider. Listening in from headquarters, Prime has Bumblebee clarify what he saw, then heads out to meet them, advising them to stay put.

''Racing through the caverns, Prime reaches the wreckage of a Decepticon warship. Separated from the other two, he heads inside, hoping to find them there. Instead, he finds an impressive stash of energon cubes, just as Sentinel predicted. He also finds an impressive stash of giant spider eggs. As the spiderlings hatch and start attacking, Prime gets stuck on some webbing, but Elita shows up in time to help. As they fight to escape from more full-grown spiders, Prime has Elita borrow his grappler ability. They bring down a huge stalactite through the ship's ruined overhead, grappling their way out as the energon detonates below them. However, Elita's download ability times out just then, and she goes plunging back too fast for Prime to catch her. Sentinel arrives on top of the ship as she plummets into the hold, but knowing the energon is going to blow any second, Prime grapples himself and Sentinel to safety rather than risk going after Elita just then. Once they break the surface, Prime scans for Elita's energy signature, but doesn't find it. A furious Sentinel blames everything on Prime.''

In the present, still en route to Sari and company's location, Prime swears he won't let it happen again. Meanwhile, Bumblebee stresses that they have to stay vigilant until Prime arrives{{m-}}even as Sari is yanked out from under them by the giant spider. Bumblebee quickly cuts Sari free, but as he and Bulkhead surround the spider, it transforms into a female robot who calls herself '''Blackarachnia'''. Sari's not too surprised or impressed by her femininity, but it makes a much bigger impression on Bulkhead{{m-}}right up to the point Blackarachnia stabs him with two of her spider legs, knocking him out. She quickly gives Bumblebee the same treatment, then tells Sari they should go, now that Sari's safe. Sari protests the two Autobots are her friends, and Blackarachnia apologizes, pretending she can't tell which robots are good or bad on Earth. As Sari futilely tries to revive Bulkhead with her All Spark Key, Blackarachnia notes that the organic nature of her venom precludes that solution, since the All Spark doesn't affect organics. She offers to try helping the Autobots if Sari will just hand her the key, but her ruse is interrupted when Prime lassos her legs out from under her. Blackarachnia appears shocked to see him, but quickly frees herself and starts fighting back{{m-}}using Bumblebee's stingers and Bulkhead's strength. Instead of borrowing any of Prime's powers, though, she judo-throws him across the street, then kidnaps Sari.

Prime desperately pursues the pair across the rooftops. He catches up, stuns BA with a faceful of foam, then grapples Sari free. Despite this respite and Sari's warning, Blackarachnia still catches Prime half-unaware. He fights back, but she dodges him constantly, claiming to know all his textbook Autobot Academy moves. Prime wonders if he knows her, and she berates him for forgetting his friends{{m-}}even if he remembered Sentinel. Prime is stunned to realize he's facing Elita-1. She finally relates what really happened that day:

''Trapped in the ship and surrounded by the spiders, Elita tries desperately to download their abilities. Instead, she is infected with their venom, and it mutates her into a freak, a half-organic, half-robotic being.''

Prime realizes that her half-organic nature is what masked her energy signature from his scans. BA sneers that if he'd known and saved her, she'd just have been dismantled and examined on some lab table on Cybertron. Prime reproves her for joining the Decepticons, but she counters that at least she knows where she stands with them. She webs up Prime and snatches Sari's key, certain that if anything can purge her organic half, it can. She plugs it into herself, but the unleashed energies begin causing all organic life in range, including Sari, to wither and sicken. Prime breaks free, but before he can stop Blackarachnia, she grabs up Sari and throws her off the roof. Sari snags a flagpole long enough for Bumblebee and Bulkhead to save her, leaving Prime free to deal with Blackarachnia. She collapses on her own, though. Prime surmises her spark can't survive without her organic half, but she's too weak to pull out the key and stop the reaction. Prime forces through the energy barrier around her and removes it for her, restoring the organic life in the area to normal. As he helps her up, Blackarachnia asks him to go, not wanting to be seen like that. Still calling her Elita, Prime asks her to come with them, promising his group will find a cure, and allow him to earn back her trust. She seems to respond positively, but it's another sham. Blackarachnia stabs him unconscious and leaves, vowing it will be a long time before she trusts another Autobot, especially him.

Later, Prime returns Sari's key. She thanks him and admits he was right{{m-}}maybe it's time she gave the key a rest. Bumblebee trundles in painfully, still damaged from his fall after catching Sari, and asks if she could use it once more. Bulkhead asks who the bug-bot lady was, and Prime responds it was someone he should never have left behind. Elsewhere, Blackarachnia stands on a rooftop, gazing at the moon and sobbing over her fate.

Despite the fact that he maintains that he's a repair-bot and not programmed for combat, he's quite useful in battle.

Bumblebee is a member of Optimus Prime's repair crew, assigned to perform maintenance on malfunctioning [[space bridge]]s. He proved agile enough to help his stronger (but much larger) teammate, [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]], who had managed to lodge a wrecking ball in an asteroid. Even though he expressed significant fear of [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]], he still managed to crack wise at the Decepticon leader's appearance once they were face-to-face. He entered stasis with the rest of the crew just before the ''Ark'' crash-landed on [[Earth]].

Upon awakening the crew to alert them to the intrusion of a nanite-powered bug-slug, the ship's computer scanned vehicle modes to disguise them. Bumblebee got reformatted into [[Captain Fanzone]]'s car. Lucky him.

Upon noticing [[Sari Sumdac|"a little creature"]] struggling with her [[Sparkplug (Animated)|"owner"]], 'Bee and Mr. Bulk showed their unfamiliarity with organic life by assuming the owner/pet relationship was reversed. Their speculation was interrupted by the attacks of the giant, nanite-fueled bug monster, and Bumblebee intervened to get Sari out of the way. Later in the battle, Bumblebee was called on to deliver the override command to the beast's nanites, as he was the fastest and most nimble of the crew.

His defeat of the monster seriously impressed Sari, who decided to befriend him. Sari's definition of befriending included cajoling him into sneaking her aboard the ''Ark''. Of course, Sari wouldn't stay still as Bumblebee asked, compelling him to jettison her into a ventilation shaft. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}

==Summary==
In a flash of light, a power anomaly emerges from a wormhole above the planet and descends to the surface. The aliens have arrived.

Rhinox detects the arrival and alerts Optimus, who hopes the truce is still holding. He flies off to meet Airazor and Rattrap at the landing site.

Tarantulas is programming his stolen Transwarp cell, when Blackarachnia pays him another visit. She tells him she can get them inside the Maximal base to steal a stasis pod. Megatron monitors the entire discussion between the two spiders and sends Waspinator to the location the aliens are anticipated to arrive at.

Rattrap and Airazor reach the site, which is a large circular plaza of stone, pulsing with energy and containing a stable energon crystal. When Airazor tries to scan it, it zaps her, blasts Rattrap away, and engulfs the entire site inside an organic dome-like structure with Airazor inside

Airazor awakens inside the "nutty alien bungalow", where a garbled alien voice speaks to her. She assures the aliens she means them no harm -- but they have no such compunctions, and painfully scan her until she converts to beast mode. After the scan ends, they are left with one word of information: ''"Cybertron."''

Outside, Waspinator arrives to "secure the area", but Rattrap drives him off with a vigorous bout of fisticuffs.

Primal arrives, surveys the situation. Rattrap's efforts to cut through the dome structure are ineffective. Megatron arrives with Terrorsaur and Scorponok, the latter of whom fires a "toxic sting" that eats through the structure. Primal and Rattrap venture inside; Rattrap drags the semi-conscious Airazor out, while Primal stays to confront the aliens. A series of whip-like metal tentacles ensnare him and lift him up into an agonizing scanning grid.

Tarantulas and Blackarachnia have made their way to the Maximal base, where Blackarachnia activates a device that creates a small opening in the shields. The spider move in, unaware that they are being followed by Inferno, who notes that they're up to no good and develops his own entry by digging a tunnel below ground.

Rattrap pulls Airazor out thorough Scorponok's opening just before it self-seals, to find himself facing Predacon guns -- the truce is over.

Primal's scan ends, and to address him, the aliens take the form of a "figure of authority" -- the head of Unicron. The aliens tell him that the Transformers have contaminated their experiment, which will be "sterilized". Primal pleads for a chance to fix the damage, and for the lives of the planet's native creatures, but the aliens are dismissive, citing greater dangers unknown to Primal. The conversation ends with the aliens activating a "termination sequence".

The alien construct begins to pulse with building energy. The distraction proves enough for Rattrap and Airazor to overpower the Predacons. With renewed urgency, Primal breaks his bonds and flies right through the dome; the Maximals beat a hasty retreat -- as the dome bursts open, spewing a directed geyser of energy into the sky. The energy activates hidden systems on the second moon, burning away its earthen surface to reveal an endless grid of weapon-like emplacements that being powering up. The moon itself begins to change its shape, and the alien energies cause the orbiting stasis pods to tumble out of orbit.

Rhinox observes all this at the Maximal base, taking measures to track what's happening even as the sensors begin to fritz out. Thus engaged, he doesn't see the spiders coming up behind him till it's too late. Dinobot is likewise gunned down in short order. Staring at Rhinox's displays, Blackarachnia wonders what they're looking at, to which Tarantulas replies: "The beginning... of the end."

Frogs eat bugs, snakes kill frogs, birds kill snakes. Things are mercilessly killing each other, as Nature intended. But Nature didn't intend for a giant, robot fire ant like Inferno to attack Cheetor and Dinobot. As the crazed Predacon gleefully attacks the two, Terrosaur brings out some heavy explosives to take out Dinobot (and slightly harm his team mate, Inferno), and Waspinator just hangs back. After getting blasted a good distance, Terroraur signals for Waspinator to attack. Cheetor radios for back-up.

Waspinator plans an attack on Cheetor using another heavy explosive, but underestimates his own strength and can't keep himself elevated when he's holding the weapon. While trying to keep airborn, Waspinator sees a tiger, which he naturally mistakes for Tigatron—who is actually a few feet higher on the mountain, ready to pounce the Predacon. Tigatron holds on and guides the bug to a crash.

Inferno switches his weapon to a flamethrower to cook the cats. Tigatron transforms and blasts Inferno away, but a stray shot from his own gun passes Inferno and heads towards the mountain where both Snowstalker and the Predacon's weaponry cache are located. The entire supply of explosives detonates in a single blast, and Tigatron's animal friend is caught in the rockslide. Concerned for his companion, Tigatron hurries to unbury the wild tiger, but it's too late.

Later, as the sky darkens, Tigatron finishes constructing a marker for Snowstalker's resting place. Surveying the damage to the landscape from the fight, Tigatron resolves to quit being a participant in the Beast Wars. Dinobot argues that destruction is part of the nature of war, but Tigatron remains with his decision to stay out of the Maximal/Predacon conflict. After Tigatron leaves, Dinobot follows him, making it clear he has a sort of plan. Cheetor is relieved when Primal arrives to make sense of the situation.

The three Predacons meet to plan their next move.

In the dark of night, in thick foliage, Dinobot shows Tigatron an example of Nature in action: a tiger killing some gazelles. Slaughter for survival, just like the Maximals battle the Predacons for the survival of peace on Cybertron. Tigatron still disagrees, and Dinobot gets aggressive. Luckily, before Dinobot gets carried away, Primal arrives to take his turn at reasoning.

The three Predacons attack Dinobot, overpowering the Maximal despite his inhumanly flexible neck. Primal arrives soon after, and the Predacons hope for another victory. Optimus puts up a better fight, knocking away both Terrosaur and Waspinator with one shot, but Inferno hits Optimus from behind with a strong blast. The two Maximals are too damaged to fight against the killer fire ant, when to their rescue comes Tigatron, who can't sit passively while his friends are close to death.

Inferno's flamethrower ignites a bush, adding to Tigatron's fury. The cat blasts Inferno into the distance, ending the Predacon's campaign. Tigatron extinguishes the fire and is welcomed back to the Beast Wars. Although he still hates the collateral damage, Tigatron now understands he can do more good as a warrior than a bystander.

When the three Decepticons mobilized, the two ground-based machines were assaulted by tanks designed to fire holding beams of electrical energy, forcing Starscream to back-and-forth babysit the two Decepticons as they tried to escape.

Brawl later stood by [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron's ]] side in Washington D.C. after they had retrieved the AllSpark from the destroyed Autobots and had decimated pretty much everything in their path.

Brawl (here called "Devastator") was lying in wait at a military depot when Starscream contacted the Decepticon infiltration team, informing them that the All Spark had been found and they were to move out. Devastator acknowledged that he was in transit and rolled out of the depot. He met up with [[Barricade (Movie)|Barricade]] and [[Bonecrusher (Movie)|Bonecrusher]] and hit the highway, though Devastator separated from the group before Barricade and Bonecrusher got on the freeway and met up with Autobot/human convoy.

Arriving at [[Mission City]] in the aftermath of Starscream's opening attack on the Autobots and their [[William Lennox|human]] [[Robert Epps|allies]], Devastator fired shells from his main gun, narrowly missing several targets before running over vehicles abandoned by human bystanders. As the American soldiers fanned out in search of cover, Devastator transformed into robot mode to get up close and personal. With the soldiers firing sabot-rounds from their grenade launchers, the Autobot Jazz jumped on top of Devastator where the Decepticon couldn't reach and destroyed his left side rocket launcher pod.

Damaged, but not down, Devastator continued to shrug off the sabot rounds from the humans as he fired wildly at all opposition. As Ironhide sped towards him in vehicle mode, Devastator fired two rockets from his remaining launcher, missing the heavily armed Autobot as he somersaulted over the missiles. [[Ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]] followed up by using his buzzsaw to slice off Devastator's left arm. The humans then fired a volley of sabot rounds, which stunned Devastator. The only thing that saved him was the human's retreat at the arrival of [[Megatron (Movie)|Megatron]]. Eventually, Ironhide and Ratchet disengaged from the battle as they left to protect [[Sam Witwicky|Sam]], who was escaping with the All Spark, while Jazz took on Megatron. Now with fewer targets to deal with, Devastator sprayed heavily machine gun fire at the remaining humans, whose leader remarked that the battle was not going well.

Devastator continued to pin down the soldiers until the damaged Autobot [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] suddenly attacked while on the back of of a tow truck driven by Sam's [[Mikaela Banes|female companion]]. With Bumblebee's plasma cannon being the deciding factor, the human soldiers rallied and fired more sabots, piercing Devastator's armor until a final shot from Bumblebee struck Devastator's spark and killed him.
