Scourge
:Scourge is a Decepticon turned Autobot and the leader of Jungle Planet from the Cybertron portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.

Scourge believes in survival of the fittest and the rule of the mightiest. Not coincidentally, he sees himself as the top of both these categories. A former student of the now-peaceful Backstop, he is savage and brutal, and now holds the Jungle Planet firmly in his steel jaws. Still, his sense of honor shows that somewhere beneath the exterior of the tyrant, some decency beats in his spark, it just needs to find a way out.

He also apparently looks up (rather down) to one of the humans, Lori; because even though she is small, she is brave enough to stand up to big old Scourge. And let's face it, she must have pretty big cojones to do that (despite, y'know, being a girl). Scourge refers to her as 'little sister'.

Long ago, Scourge was a student training under the tutelage of the wise Backstop. Frustrated by the lawlessness of his homeworld, as well as the weak rulers' lack of backbone in dealing with the many criminal elements that preyed upon the people of the land, Scourge turned his back on his master's teachings and waged a revolutionary war against the rulers of the land, with one message: bend to his will or be destroyed. Scourge's immense strength and force of arms saw him seize power over the Jungle Planet, but over time, his lofty ideal of bringing peace and safety to a chaotic land gave way to merely maintaining order under his iron fist. Honor

Years later, two strange beings dared enter the grounds of his temple. The leader, calling himself Megatron, claimed that he was in search of the Cyber Planet Keys, which could save the universe from a black hole left in the wake of some mythical god's destruction. Scourge was interested, but played dumb about the Key's location, seeing that Megatron had an ulterior motive. Search Soon afterwards, another (smaller) outlander arrived, telling much the same story as the Decepticons did, except claiming that Megatron had no intention of saving the universe. Unfortunately, his direct, gruff manner got under Scourge's skin and the Jungle Planet leader challenged the interloper to a battle for the Key. Race

In the ensuing fight, Scourge took a Cyber Key-powered missile to the face, but quickly revealed his own Key ability-shoulder-mounted dragon heads which laid Overhaul low with their ferocious fire breath. Scourge prepared the final blow, but his victim was spirited away by Snarl, causing Scourge to roar in fury. Overhaul soon returned once more, hell-bent on acquiring the Cyber Planet Key. Initially dismissive of the Autobot, Scourge charged into battle after Overhaul dealt with his guards. When his foe was distracted by Megatron's attack on Snarl, Scourge unleashed his flames once more, only to find that Overhaul could now withstand their heat. Fortunately for Scourge, Megatron chose that moment to toss Snarl into Overhaul, as a "gift" for him. Scourge would have executed the traitorous wolf on the spot, but Overhaul blocked his blow, drawing on the power of the Cyber Planet Key to reformat himself into Leobreaker and fleeing with Snarl. Detour (episode)

Bent on punishing Snarl's treachery, Scourge tracked down the wolf-bot, and had his first meeting with Optimus Prime. The naive Autobot leader wished to talk, but Scourge informed him of his planet's laws and suggested that Optimus battle Megatron's forces to determine Snarl's fate. Optimus refused on the spot, but Leobreaker was spurred into action when Scourge's minions moved to take Snarl away. Scourge observed the ensuing battle and witnessed Optimus and Leobreaker utterly defeat Megatron with their first combination into Savage Claw Mode. Satisfied with their display of power, he released Snarl and left. Savage (episode)

Having seen the strength of Optimus Prime, Scourge desired a battle against the Autobot leader. His wish was seemingly granted when Optimus contacted him with a challenge, but when the dragon-bot met him in a canyon, Optimus denied ever sending such a message. (In truth, the scheming Sideways was behind the message, intent on letting both sides destroy each other.) Nonetheless, Scourge battled Optimus, who struck him down with the power of Savage Claw Mode. Although the Autobots retreated before Scourge could recover, the planet leader was pleased to have felt Prime's strength first-hand. Sand

Scourge was one of the Transformers who felt the energy released by inserting the Velocitron Planet Key into the Omega Lock. Champion He witnessed the Autobots' return to his planet and watched them deal with Megatron's flunkiesIce before meeting them personally at his temple. To his dismay, Optimus still refused to fight him, intent on trying to talk the Key out of Scourge's hands. Ironically, Leobreaker shared Scourge's discontent for diplomacy, forcibly separating from Optimus and attacking the dragon. Scourge felled him with a single fire blast, but then stayed Megatron's hand when he moved to finish off the fallen warrior, claiming that Leobreaker was already defeated. Megatron was not terribly pleased by this, but relented and followed Scourge back to his temple.

Some time later, Scourge at last recieved a formal challenge from Optimus Prime, delivered by Backstop. Confused by Optimus' change of heart, he asked his old teacher what motivated the Autobot leader, learning that Optimus fought for peace and justice-familiar words to Scourge, according to Backstop. Although Megatron advised against the battle, Scourge was adamant, Honor and immediately began training by fighting off Undermine and Brimstone while restrained by two pillars. Having prepared himself for battle, he proceeded to wait for his opponent...and wait...and wait. To his dismay, the Autobots were late for the match, making him wonder if Optimus would try to intentionally dishonor him. Eventually, the Autobots did arrive, accusing Megatron's goons of delaying them. When Scourge turned to ask Megatron about this, the Decepticon simply denied everything and left.

Dismissing the issue, Scourge prepared to fight, but found himself confronted by Velocitronian leader Override and Lori, one of the Autobots' human allies. The latter attempted to explain the value of working together over fighting, but Scourge misinterpreted it as a slight against his planet's culture and insisted that the battle commence. However (perhaps motivated by Lori's words or simple arrogance), he did allow Optimus to choose one Autobot to aid him, and the Prime immediately combined with Leobreaker to meet Scourge head-on. Although the dragon forced the 'bots apart by attacking their combination joint, the Autobots reformed Savage Claw Mode on the other side and delivered a punch that laid Scourge out on the floor. He anticipated his own demise, but was surprised to learn that Optimus had no intent to kill him. Nonetheless, he accepted defeat and relinquished the Cyber Planet Key to the Autobots before leaving to contemplate what he had learned that day. Before doing so, he thanked Lori for her words, affectionately calling her "little sister"-much to Lori's dismay. Primal

When Megatron's forces attempted to raid the temple and steal the key, Scourge remained inside, claiming to have no interest in the larger war around him. He showed concern for Lori when she began coughing on smoke from the burning jungle outside, and was perplexed at her belief that bike helmets save lives. When Thundercracker repeatedly set the forests around the temple alight to keep Optimus occupied, Scourge took action, storming outside and downing the lowbrow jet with a blast of flames. He eventually found himself being examined by more humans as the Autobots regrouped, before finally losing his patience and screaming for everyone to just leave his planet. They at last agreed, and Scourge was left to tend to his realm. Trust (Cybertron)

However, the draconic dictator was soon flying on an asteroid alongside Crumplezone in order to free the Decepticons from a trap laid by the treacherous Starscream. Combining his power with Megatron's, Scourge eventually breached the sphere trapping the Decepticons, and then requested to join Megatron's group on their trip to Earth, in order to see new worlds and experience new things (and get vengeance on Optimus Prime and Leobreaker for his defeat). He greeted Optimus Prime upon arrival, and engaged Leobreaker and Snarl in battle, taking them both out in short order with his dragon mode's powerful fire breath. He briefly battled Optimus Prime before the latter was distracted by Megatron critically wounding three of his soldiers. Revelation (episode) He attempted to bar Optimus' path to Megatron, but was knocked aside by Savage Claw Mode. He soon got back on his feet and was poised to help Megatron finish off the Autobots when the wounded trio returned, reborn into the powerful Cybertron Defense Team. Critical

Scourge continued fighting the Autobots at Niagara Falls, but took a moment to fry Thundercracker for attempting to flee. He then joined Megatron in warping to Starscream's island base and joining a massive free-for-all for possession of
the Omega Lock. When all of his opponents fled or challenged different enemies, Scourge decided to give chase to the Autobot leaders descending into the volcano at the island's center. Assault He was held up briefly by an electric trap redirected at him by Vector Prime, but recovered in time to squash Sideways underfoot. After another painful encounter with Savage Claw Mode's power, he evacuated the erupting volcano in time to witness Starscream emerge...as a twenty-story giant with an equally massive crown! When Megatron challenged Starscream in a clash that threatened to rip the planet in half (literally), Scourge led the Decepticons in a full-scale attack on Starscream. They got off one combined Cyber Key-enhanced shot before the super-sized jet blew them away. Starscream (episode)

When a team of Autobots left for Cybertron with the Omega Lock, Scourge alerted Megatron and joined the rest of the Decepticons in pursuing them. Along the way, he watched Megatron recruit Thunderblast into the Decepticons, although he was shortly informed that Megatron only trusted her as far as cannon fodder. United (episode) The Autobots escaped at a warped section of the space bridge, but Scourge was able to pass through by focusing his own power. Upon arriving on Cybertron, he mocked Thunderblast for being damaged along the way, but then doubled over from injuries HE sustained during the trip. When Megatron successfully stole the Lock, Scourge joined him in fleeing through a dimension gate, and thus witnessed his leader's battle with Optimus Prime in the fire dimension. He managed to escape with Thunderblast before the Autobots collapsed the dimension around Megatron, seemingly destroying the Decepticon leader. Cybertron (episode)

Regrouping with the other Decepticons, Scourge nominated himself as leader. Ransack, Crumplezone, and Thundercracker objected, but the dragon-bot easily defeated all three of them at once. He soon threw them back into battle against the Autobots before tackling Optimus Prime himself. The battle was briefly interrupted when everyone stopped to watch Starscream's (rather pathetic) attempt to destroy Primus. Scourge commented that Starscream had really lost his mind-and then used the distraction to attack Optimus again, restarting the fight. The battle did not go well for the Decepticons, but Scourge refused to back down, even when Thundercracker reported that Crumplezone had been maimed by Scrapmetal. Not even he was prepared for what came next-the appearance of a ghostly, darkness-shrouded Megatron above them all! Balance He continued fighting Optimus, to the Autobot leader's growing frustration, until Optimus finally broke off to engage the now-reborn Megatron and his new pet. Scourge was among the Decepticons making a break for the Omega Lock when the Autobots were disoriented by the collision of Optimus and Megatron's powers. Darkness (episode) He didn't get far before he had to confront the pursuing Autobots again Memory, battling various opponents across Cybertron Escape (episode).

After Megatron learned of Starscream's survival aboard the ancient starship Atlantis, and the location of the final Cyber Planet Key, Scourge and the other Decepticons began searching the cosmos for their leader's old rival. Thunderblast led them to the Atlantis, but it warped away before anyone else could board. However, Scourge still found his way to Gigantion with the help of the mysterious Soundwave, who led the Decepticons through a dimension gate. Titans Warp

The Decepticons' first clash on the Giant Planet went poorly, largely due to the presence of the enormous native Transformers on the Autobots' side. Scourge found himself overpowered by Quickmix and blown away by planet leader Metroplex, who also soundly defeated Megatron. Giant In the aftermath of the battle, Scourge helped his leader hobble down the corridors of the planet, trying to offer comfort by claiming that everyone loses a battle sometime. He later assured Crumplezone and Ransack that Megatron's near-tangible anger was not directed at them, but rather at the ones who so easily outmatched his power. He soon saw his leader literally rip open Gigantion to access its Cyber Planet Key and followed the newly-minted Galvatron as he devastated the Autobots around the planet. He then witnessed his leader's vengeance on Metroplex and battle with Optimus Prime, and again fell back after Galvatron was injured by Metroplex's axe. Fury

Upon recovering his strength, Galvatron sent his forces-Scourge included-across the planet to find the Cyber Planet Key. City Scourge and Thunderblast attempted to ambush Wing Saber, Override, and Lori, only for the latter to give Scourge a severe lecture about the dishonor of his sneak attack (and fighting for Megatron in general). The dragon actually seemed to be rather shaken by the girl's rant, and was noticably relieved when she left with Wing Saber to take on Thunderblast. Scourge was much more confident during his battle with Override, but when his thrown axe nearly killed Lori and the returning Wing Saber, he quickly made a strategic withdrawal (while Lori berated him for running away). Ambush

Scourge next surfaced in another of Gigantion's abandoned cities, where he was confronted by Leobreaker and Snarl. The beast-bots attempted to sway him from Megatron's side by claiming that Optimus fought for the right reasons, but Scourge replied that Optimus only fought for change, not improvement. His patience wearing thin, Leobreaker angrily challenged Scourge for leadership of Jungle Planet, claiming that Scourge's selfishness made him unfit to rule. The fight was intense, but Scourge emerged triumphant. As the dragon prepared to leave, Snarl informed him of the Jungle Planet's suffering due to the black hole, but Scourge revealed that he already knew that, having the same connection to his homeworld as Snarl did. Infuriated by Scourge's demeanour, Snarl joined Leobreaker in attacking, but Scourge defeated them both and left to contemplate his growing feelings of unease about the situation. Challenge

Reflecting on Leobreaker's insistence that strength was more than physical, Scourge began feeling both confused and apprehensive, as physical power was all he had to save his planet. His wanderings led him to an old amusement park, where he came across Bud and the Recon Mini-Con Team. The small human was able to have a discussion with Scourge, attempting to illustrate the benefits of creative thinking and teamwork, making Scourge accuse Bud of making things up. When Bud responded that no one said that he couldn't
make stuff up, Scourge finally had an epiphany, realizing that his constant reliance on brute strength had actually made him weaker. To test his realization, he promptly challenged the Autobots to a duel. He was beaten up by Metroplex, Vector Prime, and Sonic Wing Mode Optimus Prime without doing anything to any of them besides slightly scratching the latter's shoulder, but still expressed contentment at the result, laughing softly at the sky above him. Scourge (episode)

When the completed Omega Lock opened a path back to the Transformer's home dimension, Scourge arrived to thank Optimus Prime for everything he taught him. Declaring that he had a planet to save, Scourge proceeded to depart for the Jungle Planet, accompanied by his old friend, Snarl. Showdown (episode) Unfortunately, the power of the black hole was unstoppable, dragging the Jungle Planet itself through the space bridge and into reach of the singularity itself. Even as his people were evacuated by the Autobots, Scourge intended to die with his homeworld, forcing Snarl to beat some sense into him. Accused of cowardice and giving up on his people, Scourge at last realized the lesson Backstop tried to teach him so long ago, and told his followers to never give up hope and always go down fighting. As his old teacher looked at him with pride, Scourge found himself bathed in the light of Primus as his temple rose from the ground and revealed itself as the fourth ancient starship: Hyperborea! Aboard this mighty vessel, he arrived at Primus in time to scare off Galvatron's minions and witness the creation of the Ark, a symbol of the united Transformer race. Homecoming (episode)

When Galvatron retreated to the very core of the black hole, Scourge and the other planet leaders approached Optimus Prime, wishing to aid him in defeating Galvatron and reclaiming the key-filled Omega Lock. Although Galvatron used the Lock to make himself enormous and all-powerful, the combined strength of the Autobots defeated him, with Scourge contributing his flames to their final attack. Spiteful even in defeat, Galvatron threw the Lock and keys into the black hole, and Scourge was forced to break off and grab his homeworld's Cyber Planet Key. He beheld Primus' destruction of the black hole at last and then watched the deity reform into Cybertron, now with elements of the Jungle Planet on its surface.End

Unfortunately, Jungle Planet itself was still out of place, hovering just above Cybertron. The Autobots worked together to build massive thrusters to push the planet back to its rightful place, and Scourge made sure to thank Optimus once more for all he had done. The plan proceeded without a hitch until Galvatron damaged one of the engines (en route to a final battle with Optimus Prime), changing the planet's trajectory towards Cybertron. When the damaged thruster began falling over, Scourge was the first Transformer to leap up and try to physically push it back into place. With the combined aid of Transformers from all over the galaxy, he succeeded, allowing his planet-and his people-to return home. Unfinished

Weeks after the final defeat of Galvatron and the restoration of normalcy, Scourge joined the other planet leaders in an "intergalactic peace conference", where it was decided that a new space bridge project would be made. In preparation for the project, Scourge held a boxing match on Jungle Planet to determine its new leader...and ended up winning. As a result, he sent Leobreaker as the Jungle Planet representative. Scourge would later attempt (rather poorly) to hide his tears at Leobreaker's departure.

Despite his enlightened stance on power, Scourge still seemed to enjoy physical tests, such as lifting very large boulders. Beginning
:Scourge is a surprisingly small Attacktix figure considering the massive and powerful character he's based on. His small axe, small base and low speed make him relatively ineffective against more powerful Star Wars and Marvel strikers.
* The toy's instructions and the show's CGI model depict the yellow spike on Scourge's axe as sticking straight up, parallel to the handle, but the molded detail on the toy indicates that it's supposed to be positioned at a right angle to the handle—it's the opposite, narrow end of the axe blade, y'see.
Cheetor is full of youthful overconfidence. He's also the fastest Maximal on four legs which, combined with his impulsive nature, often gets him into more trouble than he can handle. It's needless to say that Cheetor's overbearing enthusiasm gets on the nerves of some of his teammates, Rattrap in particular. He's in those awkward formative years. Thankfully, Optimus Primal keeps a steady eye on the young Maximal. In return, Cheetor has grown to idolize Primal, whom he calls "Big Bot." Optimus Primal knows the inexperienced Cheetor needs a good role model, so he doesn't mind too much. And, hey, at spark he's a good kid. Just... keep him away from Dinobot, okay? Impressionable minds, and all. And Matrix help us when Cheetor gets past his "cooties" stage and notices Blackarachnia. Although in the Generations series he is used more than the animated period

Cheetor also appears to have vague precognitive skills, sensing important events before they actually happen — usually in the form of ominous dreams. With such power and potential, who knows — maybe the lad is destined for great things someday.
{{note|This comic and the on-package bios of the first wave of Beast Wars toys predate the development of the Beast Wars cartoon and its backstory. ====Dawn of Future's Past====

A former cadet of the Maximal Command Security Force, a Maximal who would later call himself Cheetor left the organization young after being recruited by Optimus Primal based on his leadership potential. "Cheetor" enthusiastically joined the crew of the Axalon, hoping to see the furthest reaches of space. His vehicle mode could reach 550 mph, making him the fastest Maximal aboard the Axalon even before landing on prehistoric Earth. Cheetor served as the ship's communications officer.

Cheetor and the rest of the Axalon crew were waylaid on a Maximal space station for weeks, waiting for their exploration mission to begin. Finally, after leaving the space station, Optimus Primal explained the reason for their delay: they were ordered by the Maximal High Council to deposit a precious cargo on a barren moon. But before this could be achieved, the Axalon was contacted by the Maximal High Council again. The Golden Disk, a treasured Maximal artifact, was stolen by the Predacon Megatron, and he and a band of Predacon criminals left Cybertron in a stolen ship. Since the Axalon was the closest ship, they were ordered to intercept.

But there were other ships en route. An unknown Predacon ship appeared and attacked them. Their mysterious attacker was countered by another strange ship, the Chromia 10. Ultimately, the Axalon was able to destroy the Predacon ship but not before serious damage was dealt the Chromia 10. The sparks of the two Maximals on board were beamed aboard the Axalon and placed inside blank protoforms to save their lives.

Just as the battle seemed to be over, Cheetor received an incoming transmission from Megatron's stolen ship. Megatron introduced himself and disappeared through a transwarp portal. Cheetor and the rest of the Axalon crew followed blindly. Dawn of Future's Past
After the Axalon crash-landed on a mysterious planet, the most youthful crew member of the disabled ship chose a cheetah as his new beast form. After admiring his new appearance, he renamed himself Cheetor. While the other Maximals were unpacking, Cheetor decided to show off, racing after some cheetahs. He soon encountered Waspinator, and opened fire, but found himself outclassed(!). The rest of the Maximals and Predacons turned up, and Cheetor cut off Megatron's speech with a "treacherous underhanded sneak attack". A full battle ensued, during which Cheetor's foot became caught in some rocks, and he had to be rescued by Optimus. Beast Wars (Part 1)

When Dinobot challenged Optimus to a duel, Cheetor was keen to take out the Predacon himself, and had to be restrained from joining the fight. After the battle was interrupted by the other Predacons, a huge energon crystal was revealed in a nearby mountain, and the Maximals rushed there to try to prevent the Predacons claiming it for themselves. With the massive amount of energy there, they were forced to fight in their beast modes, though it did give Cheetor the opportunity to try to settle the score with Waspinator. Ultimately, the energon was all destroyed. Beast Wars (Part 2)

Cheetor enthusiastically volunteered to check out a new experimental comlink. Despite being under orders not to get into any combat situations, he unsuccessfully attempted to attack Scorponok and was left heavily damaged. After a strange precognitive dream, he awoke back on the Axalon, whether the other Maximals expressed their disappointment in his actions. Given a hard time by Rattrap, Cheetor rushed out to make another attempt to capture the cannon that Scorponok was recovering, and was captured by Tarantulas. Luckily for him, he was soon rescued by Rattrap, who also lied to Optimus to cover the young bot's hide. The Web

Though Cheetor was looking forward to another mission to install energon monitoring devices, Optimus delayed the mission due to the heavy storm raging. Dinobot managed to goad Cheetor into going out anyway, and, while placing one of the devices, a lightning bolt hit it, resulting in a bizarre two-way teleportation effect between the Maximal and Predacon bases. Cheetor himself found himself in the Darksyde, where he was able to hack the Predacon data files and discover that the two crashed ships lay on a common energon vein, meaning that an explosion at one base would destroy both. He managed to get the information back to Optimus, but Dinobot had already sent through a bomb — Cheetor was able to detach it from the console it was fixed to in time. He returned to the Axalon, where he promised Optimus that he would pay more attention to orders... until the next time. Equal Measures

After a decisive Maximal victory at the Standing Stones, an alien probe swallowed Optimus Primal. The argument over who would lead turned into a secret ballot, during which, from Rhinox's reaction, Cheetor voted for Dinobot, suggesting he trusted the Predacon's leadership skills over those of Rattrap. As it turned out, the exercise was rendered pointless by the revelation that Optimus wasn't dead after all. Chain of Command

Terrorsaur discovered a flying mountain with a cache of super-powerful energon at the top, but he was spotted by Cheetor, who immediately dashed back to the Axalon to inform the other Maximals. Power Surge When one of the stasis pods crashed to the ground and Optimus was damaged by a Predacon sneak attack, Cheetor, Rhinox and Rattrap set out to try to get to the pod, but were delayed by Waspinator and Terrorsaur. They were beaten to the pod by the Predacons, but a last-minute gambit by Dinobot and Optimus meant that the protoform inside had already been reformatted into Tigatron. Fallen Comrades Like the other Maximals, Cheetor couldn't believe that Rattrap had defected to the Predacons. Of course, it turned out to be simply a ploy to determine how the Predacons had been spying on the Maximals. Double Jeopardy

Cheetor, Rattrap, Dinobot and Rhinox were forced to evacuate the Axalon when a fight caused Rhinox's new defense system to go out of control. A Better Mousetrap Infected by a Predacon virus which caused uncontrollable rage, Optimus managed to persuade Cheetor to release him from his confinement, only for the Maximal leader to head off on a one-bot mission against the Predacons. After Primal had slagged most of the Predacons, Cheetor managed to get hold of the antivirus and administer it to Optimus. Gorilla Warfare

When a temporal probe sent from Cybertron came into range of the planet, the Maximals tried to set up a signal array to contact it. The Predacons had other idea though, and Tarantulas's transformation lock lens locked both Cheetor and Tigatron in their beast modes. The pair were captured and put in cages in the Darksyde, but soon escaped and used the Predacon repair pools to fix themselves. They rejoined the fight in time to save Optimus and Rhinox from Megatron, but the Predacons had prevented the signal from being sent. The Probe

After the apparent destruction of the Predacons, Cheetor and Rattrap mocked Dinobot's sorrow at the passing of his ex-comrades. It was, of course, a ruse, and the Predacons revealed themselves once the Maximals had repaired their ship. Cheetor accompanied Optimus into battle to retrieve the injured Dinobot, providing cover fire for his leader. When Terrorsaur hit a retreating Optimus from behind, Cheetor flew into a rage, firing wildly (and downing the flier) before getting shot by Megatron. He managed to drag himself to the Axalon as it took off, and would've pulled Optimus onboard if not for Scorponok's parting shot. As he broke the sad news to his allies, he was ambushed by their stowaway—Megatron himself—and awoke to find the Axalon grounded...permanently this time. Victory (episode)

When Rhinox was twisted into a Predacon by Megatron's Transmuter, Cheetor was keen to rescue their friend, Optimus ordered everyone to hold back, while the evil Rhinox wrecked havoc in the Predacon base. Dark Designs (episode) On another occasion when Rattrap went missing, Cheetor and Optimus looked for the ratbot, only to discover that the Dinobot who had sent them on the hunt was a clone controlled by Megatron. By the time they got back to base, the clone had already been defeated—and devoured—by the real Dinobot. Double Dinobot

Rhinox and Cheetor got to another crashed stasis pod before anyone else, however the ambient energon was endangering the protoform inside. Cheetor shut himself down to allow Rhinox to extract a needed component from him, and dreamed that Rhinox was telling him about sparks. After reawakening, Cheetor was forced to try to defend the pod against Blackarachnia, Waspinator and Terrorsaur, while only having limited use of his robot mode. Though he managed to defeat the first two, Terrorsaur prevailed... only to be defeated by the newly online Airazor. The Spark

During Tigatron's disappearance, Cheetor spotted Blackarachnia and Scorponok leaving the Predacon base on a mission. As it turned out, they were heading towards a flying island which Tigatron had crashed on. Tigatron sent a Cyberbee containing footage of the island, which the Maximals were able to recover, despite Cheetor firing on it. The Trigger, Part 1 Cheetor and Rhinox were forced to evacuate the Axalon after Blackarachnia took control of the island, intending to destroy the Maximal base with it. The spider's scheme was thwarted, but Cheetor bore witness to the island's final action: a beacon sent to its creators, who would most likely be very displeased with the island's demise. The Trigger, Part 2

Another Predacon gambit saw them stealing the rectifier coil from the Maximal base, effectively trapping the Maximals in their beast modes. Overcome by bestial instincts, the Maximals wandered off into the jungle, and it was only through Tigatron's intervention that they were able to delete the blocks separating their robot and beast psyches. Call of the Wild During a routine energy-harvesting run, an energon explosion caused a group of Maximals, of which Cheetor was a part, to be blinded far from base. As they attempted to journey home, Cheetor was attacked and severely damaged by a huge snake. He spent most of the rest of the journey on Rhinox's back, until they came under attack by Terrorsaur and Waspinator. Rhinox was able to guide everyone in fending off the attack without the use of their sight, and they were soon found by Optimus. Dark Voyage

After a violent storm damaged the Maximal base, making it vulnerable, Cheetor shot down a cyberbee which was spying on them. Unfortunately the Predacons had gained enough information and the help of Starscream, who had possessed Waspinator's body, enabling them to easily take over the Axalon. The Predacon occupation didn't last long, as internal conflict in their ranks allowed the Maximals to retake their base. Possession After Rattrap and Dinobot's bickering caused Rhinox to beome infected by a Predacon energon discharge virus, Optimus insisted the pair go out alone to find the cure. Cheetor was part of the party which went to back them up when they located Tarantulas's lair. The Low Road

After Snowstalker was killed by incidental fire during a battle, Cheetor tried unsuccessfully to comfort Tigatron, but the other Maximal announced he would no longer be a part of the Beast Wars. Law of the Jungle After Megatron called a truce and the Maximals needed to find out what he was up to, Cheetor suggested that Rattrap infiltrate the Predacon base unarmed, so as to not violate the truce. Rattrap was less than impressed with the suggestion. In the end, Tigatron did the infiltrating, and the other Maximals covered his escape. Rhinox and Cheetor "intercepted" Terrorsaur with a sheet of metal. Before the Storm

Tigatron and Cheetor observed the moon splitting open, but were called back to base by Optimus. They got back as the alien weapon began super-heating the planet's surface, and helped the damaged Dinobot and Rhinox into CR chambers. Optimus intended to use a stasis pod Tarantulas had been working on to attack the Planet Buster, despite Cheetor, Tigatron and Airazor all volunteering to go in his stead. As the pod lifted off, Cheetor managed to tune the sensors in to follow its path until it destroyed the Planet Buster—and thanks to Megatron's meddling, Optimus Primal as well. Other Voices, Part 2

When the quantum surge from the explosion engulfed the planet, Cheetor's exostructure was mutated into a shiny new Transmetal body. Along with a tougher metal hide and built-in weaponry, his beast mode gained the ability to fly via two powerful thrusters in his torso. Unfortunately, his first attempt at flying led him on a one-way trip into a bulkhead. His new flight mode allowed him to be particularly effective against Waspinator in a subsequent battle, however he was then blasted off a cliff by Megatron, and crashed into Rattrap while trying to fly to safety. Rhinox fortunately interceded before the pair could be slagged. Aftermath

While Rhinox set up some equipment to send his core consciousness on a jaunt, Cheetor left the Axalon to look for Dinobot. Instead he found the Predacons and was attacked by a new addition to their forces, Silverbolt. He radio'd base to warn Rattrap. Rattrap and Dinobot soon joined him and prepared for a showdown with the Predacons. Coming of the Fuzors (Part 1) Though outnumbered, the trio persisted in defending the Axalon, eventually capturing Silverbolt and taking him back to the ship for repairs. As the Predacons pressed on with their attack, the Maximals found themselves out of ammo, but were saved at the eleventh hour by the resurrection of Optimus Primal in a new Transmetal body. Coming of the Fuzors (Part 2)

Despite his new form, Cheetor was still assigned to monitor the sensor grid, reporting on strange signals. Tangled Web When Rhinox worked out that there was an alien site in Grid Zeiram, the area Tigatron and Airazor were patrolling, Cheetor was sent to warn them. He was moments too late to prevent them from being shot into space by the alien plants there, much to his anguish. Though Cheetor wanted to rescue Tigatron and Airazor, the priority was on stopping Megatron, and the Maximals returned to Grid Zeiram, where a spaceship grew from the plant life and released an energy surge which blasted everyone present. Other Visits (Part 1) As the Transmetals and Fuzors recovered quickly from the blast, Cheetor and Silverbolt took Dinobot and Rhinox back to base for repairs. After Megatron took control of the alien craft, the Maximals launched an attack on it, distracting Megatron long enough for Rattrap to undertake some sabotage. Other Visits (Part 2)

Out flying on patrol, Cheetor spotted a crashed stasis pod marked with an X, which Optimus explained contained Protoform X, a Maximal experiment. Of course, the Predacons arrived to try to take control of the pod, and weapons fire caused energon beneath the pod to explode. Damaged, Optimus and Cheetor returned to base, but were repaired in time to help Silverbolt and Blackarachnia defeat Protoform X. The Maximals left to consult Rhinox on the abomination, but that gave Megatron time to conscript X into the Predacons as Rampage. Bad Spark On another patrol, Cheetor encountered the Predacon forces, again, and communicated their position to Dinobot. After Dinobot died defending a valley of early humans from the Predacons, Cheetor extinguished the flames in the valley and joined the other Maximals in mourning his loss. Code of Hero

While out hunting for yet another Predacon jamming tower, Rattrap and Cheetor stumbled on a stasis pod containing a strangely mutated Transformer, which became known as Transmutate. Unfortunately the first thing it did was break up their fight with the Predacons using its sonic attack. As Rattrap later joked about the creature's appearance, Cheetor pointed out Transmutate was standing right behind him. Transmutate (episode)
The Maximals were overjoyed when Rhinox revealed that the transwarp wavefront from the Planet Buster explosion would soon be detected by Cybertron and a rescue mission sent. Cheetor was looking forward to going to Six Lasers Over Cybertron, much to Rattrap's embarrassment. Instead of the expected rescue mission, they got Ravage, a Predacon operative sent to apprehend Megatron. Joining forces, they mounted an attack on the Darksyde. Cheetor was blasted by the defense systems. Twice. Unsurprisingly, he wasn't present when Megatron was finally captured. The Agenda (Part 1) With the Maximals in control, Optimus order Cheetor to go out and look for Blackarachnia, whom Silverbolt had allowed to escape. Cheetor assured Silverbolt, who had developed feelings for the Predacon, that he would bring her in in one piece, only for Silverbolt to punch him out, leaving to find Blackarachnia himself. Cheetor wasn't happy.

He and Optimus instead went to fetch some energon crystals stashed by Tarantulas, only to run into Inferno and were forced to retreat when the crazed Predacon blew up the energon. The pair headed back for the Axalon, only to be informed by Rattrap over the commlink that Ravage had switched sides — a fact made obvious by the transwarp cruiser bearing down on them with Megatron riding atop. The Agenda (Part 2) Pinned down on the battlefield, Optimus and Cheetor were blasted flat by Megatron (although Cheetor managed to deal with Quickstrike first), but fortunately survived without too much damage. After Rattrap took out the transwarp cruiser, the Maximals set out in pursuit of the retreating Megatron.

As it turned out, the Predacon leader had found the Ark buried in Mount St. Hilary. The Maximals worked frantically to dig out the cave in he'd created to block their passage, and then to evade the Ark's defenses, but were too late to prevent Megatron from shooting a stasis-locked Optimus Prime in the head. The Agenda (Part III)

The time storm abated once the Maximals stabilized Optimus Prime's condition. Cheetor and the newly "optimised" Optimus Primal attempted to stop the Predacons from attacking the Axalon, with Cheetor taking out both Waspinator and Inferno, but the pair were helpless to stop the ship plunging off the cliff and being lost. The Maximals subsequently took up residence in the cavern housing the Ark. Optimal Situation Some time later, Cheetor was out on patrol when he saw a spaceship entering Earth's atmosphere. He was in the middle of a radio report when Rampage shot him down, and he was rescued by new arrival Depth Charge, who left him on a small rock. Without his flight capability, Cheetor had to wait to be rescued by Optimus. The pair picked up Depth Charge, who'd lost his fight with Rampage, and took him back to base for repairs. Cheetor's attempt to thank the new Maximal resulted in Depth Charge insulting him and swatting him aside. Deep Metal

When Rattrap was assigned to recover Sentinel from the underwater remains of the Axalon, Cheetor was highly amused at the wee ship that would be used, imagining it would make a swell kitty toy. Changing of the Guard While looking after Chak and Una, after the pair had become separated from their tribe, Cheetor displayed the first hints of a crush on Blackarachnia, much to Silverbolt's displeasure. He volunteered to accompany her on a mission to return the children to their people. And gave Chak rides. As soon as they were attacked by a Cyber raptor, he was blasted off a cliff and his jets damaged. Then during another battle with Tarantulas and a pack of Cyber raptors, he was blasted from behind by Waspinator. Primal and Silverbolt soon joined the battle, but Optimus was quickly incapacitated by a new cyber venom. They were all saved by protohuman leader, who attacked the raptors with his club. Afterwards, Blackarachnia rebuffed his thanks, walking off with Silverbolt. Cheetor muttered that he was "not a kid... and maybe I'm not so nice either." Cutting Edge

Optimus and Cheetor were unsuccessful in preventing the Predacons stealing another stasis pod — in fact Cheetor's missile accidentally took out Optimus, much to his dismay and embarrassment. After scolding Cheetor, Optimus told him to get some backup and assist Depth Charge, however Cheetor opted to go on alone. As he assisted Depth Charge in battling the Predacons, Cheetor was able to steal the Transmetal driver which Megatron was using in an experiment to create a Transmetal 2 clone of Dinobot. No sooner had he thrown the artifact to Depth Charge, than Cheetor was knocked into the cloning machine's electrical arc and apparently destroyed. Depth Charge returned to Maximal HQ with a piece of Cheetor's exo-shell as proof.

Cheetor, however, was alive, though badly damaged. After Depth Charge was captured by the Predacons, who were after the Transmetal driver, the group was attacked by a strange feline creature. A short time later, Cheetor himself collapsed on the Maximals' doorstep. Feral Scream Part 1 Refusing use of the CR chamber, Cheetor had troubled dreams as he slept in his own quarters. On waking up, he was enveloped by a strange green glow from his spark. Rattrap, investigating the noise, was knocked down by the strange feline creature bursting out of Cheetor's quarters. Cheetor awoke in a cave, back in his Transmetal form and totally repaired, but with confused memories of what had happened. He returned to base, claiming to have taken care of the "cyber creature", but naturally Optimus insisted on seeing the remains in an attempt to get the young bot to tell him the truth.

Finally, during a fight with Dinobot and Waspinator, Cheetor mutated permanently into his new Transmetal 2 form. He made short work of the two Predacons, however as Optimus observed, his beast mode was "still feral", and he had to be coaxed into returning to robot mode. As Optimus picked him up joyfully, Cheetor asked to be put down, as Optimus was embarrassing him. "Oh, joy," Rattrap remarked on this. "Cyber-puberty." He did seem happier when Blackarachnia admired his new form. Feral Scream Part 2

Cheetor returned the favor by drooling over scans of Blackarachnia's internal structure. She later pulled her gun on him and told him to back off, being sick of his stupid crush. Optimus broke up the conflict, sending Cheetor out on patrol. Proving Grounds He spent some time with Chak and Una, attempting to teach the pair about defending themselves against Predacons and basic engineering principles, such as levers. After Blackarachnia made an aborted attempt to upgrade herself with the Transmetal driver, Cheetor was concerned for her safety. He assisted in defending the base against a Predacon attack while Rhinox worked on removing the Predcaon shell program from Blackarachnia. As the Predacons retreated, their jubilation was cut short by the news that Blackarachnia didn't make it. As the Maximals eulogized her, Cheetor said she was "something special". Fortunately, she wasn't that dead. Crossing the Rubicon Megatron's new plan saw Quickstrike taking control of Optimus Primal. Cheetor was sent to stop Tigerhawk from destroying Megatron, an act which would also destroy the original Megatron's spark, but he was quickly incapacitated by Tarantulas, who had plans of his own. Cheetor dreamed of Tigatron, Airazor and the Vok, before waking and breaking free of his bonds. With Megatron on the way in the Nemesis, the Maximals hurried to try to get the Ark ready to be moved, but were unable to get the ship moving. Quickstrike was successful, and soon Cheetor was fighting that annoying little jerk, Rattrap. Fortunately, Optimus Primal was able to detect something was wrong, despite the transmitter's effects on himself, and the Maximals deactivated the transmitter and defeated Quickstrike. During the journey back to Cybertron, Megatron broke free from the Autobot shuttle and somehow reached the planet before the Maximals. By the time the Maximals got there, Megatron had taken control of the planet with an army of Vehicon drones. They were hit with a transformation virus which reverted them to their original beast forms. Revelations Part II: Descent Unable to transform, Cheetor searched for a CR chamber with which to repair himself, and ended up saving Primal and Rattrap from a Tank Drone. The trio were unable to remember what had happened to them since arriving on Cybertron. They located Blackarachnia and descended into the planet to find the Oracle. Primal communed with the Oracle, which reformatted the four Maximals into new Technorganic bodies. Faced with more Vehicons in the form of Motorcycle Drones, the Maximals found themselves unable to transform out of beast mode, and were forced to deal with the drones as is. When Optimus finally worked out how to transform, Cheetor admired his new robot mode. The Reformatting

With Optimus's guidance, Cheetor and Blackarachnia were able to remaster the art of transformation, regaining their robot modes. However on the first attack by a Mole Drone, they spontaneously reverted back to beast modes through lack of focus. Despite the pair believing that they should find more survivors, Primal insisted that they concentrate on their training, and the group split up to find a new base. Blackarachnia persuaded Cheetor to accompany her to the surface to find more information, only to find the city deserted and the Cybertron InfoCore erased. Attacked by Aero Drones, the pair were helped by Primal, and the Maximals proceeded to the Council Citadel, where Optimus went in and encountered Megatron. As the Maximals battled against the Vehicon drones, Cheetor discovered that, though he no longer possessed a flight mode, he could glide by holding his swords together. Master of the House

An attempt to access the Cybertron Archives didn't go much better, ending with Cheetor carrying Blackarachnia on his shoulders. Later on, he and Optimus had to save Rattrap and Blackarachnia again after the pair accessed the computer on the Autobot shuttle and alerted the Vehicons to their position. Fires of the Past After being captured by Megatron, the Maximals were able to turn Tankor, one of the Vehicon generals to their side for a brief period. Mercenary Pursuits
Cheetor and Blackarachnia sparred with encouragement from Optimus, though Cheetor he preferred to rely on instinct not "blind faith". Realizing they were being watched, the Maximals chased down the spy with Cheetor finally catching Nightscream, a young Maximal who survived Megatron's planetwide purging. Though Nightscream led the Maximals to a fruit tree which he had been living off, Cheetor refused Optimus's suggestion that the other Maximals do the same, stating bluntly that they processed energon, not fruit. As it turned out, the fruit caused the Maximals' beast sides to take over, endangering their lives when Jetstorm attacked with a squad of Aero drones, until Cheetor felled the tree. Optimus was left weakened after reformatting Nightscream, and put Cheetor in command. Forbidden Fruit
On a recon mission in a tank drone factory, Cheetor's orders went unheeded by Rattrap, who ended up wrecking the whole plan. Understandably angry at his comrade, Cheetor would subsequently brush off Rattrap's suggestions that they should attack Megatron while the Vehicon leader was weak. He did stick up for Rattrap when Blackarachnia and Nightscream suggested getting rid of the rat, however his suggestion that they cover for Rattrap until Optimus recovered did not go down well when it was overheard by Rattrap himself. In fact, it drove Rattrap to Megatron's side. After the situation was resolved, Optimus reminded the others not to underestimate their fellow Maximal. The Weak Component

Cheetor was glad for Optimus to be back in command, bluntly rebuking Nightscream's suggestion that Primal was still too weak to lead. Nonetheless, when Cheetor had to save Optimus's life during a battle in a factory, and Optimus became lost in his own regrets what what Megatron had done, Cheetor was forced to take command to force a Maximal withdrawal. Revelations Part I: Discovery With the revelation that the Vehicon generals housed the sparks of their friends, Cheetor's plan was for Nightscream and Blackarachnia to distract Thrust and Jetstorm while he and Rattrap attempted to convert Tankor back into a Maximal. Cheetor was able to distract the Tank Drones while Rattrap hacked into Tankor, discovering that the Vehicon was their old friend Rhinox. Revelations Part II: Descent
Though Cheetor primarily disbelieved Rattrap, the pair decided to try to reawaken their friend, but ended up fleeing from the enraged Vehicon. Optimus, via directly contacting Rhinox's spark, was able to restore his personality, but Rhinox announced he was siding with Megatron's plan for a technological Cybertron. Optimus confided to the other Maximals that he believed the Oracle's plan was to restore the organic element to Cybertron, something that Cheetor wasn't convinced the planet ever had. Revelations Part III: Apocalypse While trying to find Nightscream's tree again, the Maximals were ambushed by Vehicons, who abducted Nightscream.
The Maximals set about trying to find water, though Cheetor thought they should instead be attacking Megatron. They soon struck gold, or at least an organic goo which sprouted plants. Their victory was interrupted by an attack by Tankor, who used the Key to Vector Sigma to turn Nightscream into technomatter. Despite Cheetor's attempts to save it, the drill was damaged by the drones extracting Tankor. Cheetor and Optimus disagreed over their next course of action, but Cheetor finally came up with a plan to use a Mole Drone to drill to the organic core, to get more goo to cure Nightscream. During the battle to get control of a factory, Rattrap again found himself in the middle of a leadership tug-of-war between Optimus and Cheetor. The Maximals succeeded in getting control of a Mole Drone, only for Megatron to take control of it back as soon as they reached the orchid, and Cheetor reluctantly followed Optimus's lead and fortunately the plan succeeded. Cheetor, however, told Optimus he demanded more respect, and wasn't a kid any more. The Key

The Maximals held a memorial service for Rhinox, before concentrating on trying to make their orchid succeed. A catalyst Rattrap found caused the plants to grow too well, forcing the other Maximals to rescue him from the rapidly growing vines. Cheetor was keep to use the fast-growing vines as a weapon against Megatron, but Optimus claimed the Oracle had other plans. When it turned out that Blackarachnia had gone trying to turn Thrust back into Silverbolt, Cheetor took the opportunity to prove that his plan would work, by rescuing her with a giant vine. Unfortunately it backfired, as the Vehicons zapped it into technomatter, and only swift work by Optimus saved the rest of the orchid. Optimus was not pleased. The Catalyst

In search of information on who had tampered with the Oracle, Cheetor and Rattrap hacked into the central computer, but were forced to retreat before learning anything. They returned to the other Maximals, and Optimus led them to the Plasma Energy Chamber which, if opened, would destroy technological life on the planet, leaving only the organic. Shocked, Cheetor talked him out of opening the chamber and came up with an alternate plan to get Rattrap to find a way to disable the duplicate Keys. The operation was curtailed when Rattrap was zapped into technomatter by Tankor, leading Optimus to confront Megatron in person. Cheetor and the other Maximals continued fighting, but were overcome by Vehicons and turned into technomatter. End of the Line
Restored to health by Optimus Primal's sacrifice, the Maximals were shocked to find their leader dead. Cheetor reacted violently to Nightscream's assertion that Cheetor wanted Optimus gone, but took a leadership position anyway. When the surviving Vehicon generals attacked, Cheetor called timeout, and unsuccessfully attempted to get them to join the Maximals. He believed they should continue with Optimus's mission, and led the other Maximals down to the Oracle chamber, where they discovered Primal was floating within the Oracle. Cheetor gave an impassioned speech to Big Bot, which helped him realise what his real mission for Cybertron was, and to choose life over joining the Matrix.

Together again, Cheetor suggested the next step should be to find the missing sparks, but when they approached the Council Citadel, a giant floating head hoved into view. Fallout While Optimus tried to contact Megatron's spark, Cheetor led the other Maximals in attempting to find Jetstorm and Thrust, and they encountered Noble, a completely organic Transformer, whose transformation into Savage was uncontrollable. Savage Noble Cheetor favored leniency in dealing with Noble, but the creature was soon revealed to be Megatron, who transferred himself into the Grand Mal and reactivated the Vehicon drones, forcing the Maximals to flee underground once again. Prometheus Unbound
Silverbolt revealed he still regarded Cheetor as a child, calling him "kid", much to Cheetor's annoyance, though Cheetor's inability to come up with a plan to shake the drones pursuing them doubtless didn't help. Cheetor found himself facing the three Vehicon Generals on his own, but was able to use the anti-gravity generators to fire Obsidian and Strika into orbit. Cheetor struggled with Thrust, finally using a spark extractor to rip out the Vehicon's spark. He was unprepared to face his next foe — Megatron, newly-installed into a duplicate of Primal's old "optimal" body — and had his own spark torn out by a cycle drone. Endgame Pt. II: When Legends Fall

After a city-spanning battle, Optimus sacrificed himself to destroy Megatron and reformat Cybertron into a technorganic paradise. Cheetor and the other Maximals were restored to their bodies and, as the sparks were reborn into new bodies, Cheetor had a final vision from the Oracle and told the other Maximals that Optimus would always be with them. {{storylink|Endgame Pt. At some point, Cheetor acquired a highly advanced stealth armor and dubbed himself Night Slash Cheetor. This new armor granted Cheetor all sort of new abilities, including being undetectable to every known Vehicon radar and tracking systems and creating a negative psychological effects on Vehicon generals, rendering their drones useless in combat. Considering the armor was never mentioned elsewhere, it would seem to have been a short-lived upgrade. Cheetor (BW)/toys#Beast Machines
Shortly after the planet underwent the Great Reformatting, the Quintessons seized the opportunity to attack, believing that the revolutionary change would have rendered the planets' inhabitants confused and docile. Suffice to say, the Transformers were greatly underestimated. Cheetor was revealed as a Matrix Templar, as he and Rodimus (another templar) battled Cryotek deep underground. It also seemed that Cheetor was one of Rodimus's biggest fans, so much so that Cheetor based his first changeform on Rodimus's design.

Unfortunately, though Cheetor and Rodimus were able to use their powers to help defeat Cryotek, Rodimus perished in the incident. Wreckers: Finale Part II
A year later, Cheetor and the rest of Cybertron eagerly awaited at Memorial Spaceport for the return of five Autobots from the great war: Trailbreaker, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Roulette, and Shadow Striker. The event was covered by the famous journalist Rook, and when Cheetor had trouble communicating in front of a camera, Rattrap happily took over for him. Quickly thereafter, the five Autobots' ship arrived, and its occupants were shocked at the changes Cybertron had gone through. Cheetor demonstrated to the older warriors that the planet's inhabitants had also gone through a metamorphosis by transforming into his technorganic cheetah mode.

Unfortunately, the events pleasantries were interrupted when the five Autobots and Blackarachnia and Silverbolt were abducted by Unicron. Abduction So began the Universe conflict, in which the Minions of Unicron battled the Children of Primus, the latter led by a rejuvenated Optimus Primal. After Optimus Primal brought back the seven abducted Autobots and Maximals, plus a handful of other Transformers stranded in their universe, Cheetor accompanied them to the Oasis Research and Development Facility. As Ratchet and Striker began research on Sideswipe to see if they could cure the Unicron contamination they'd all suffered while in the Pit, Cheetor expressed his doubts about Optimus Primal's return. Cheetor reasoned that being dead may have changed Primal, and Silverbolt added that it could all be a Unicron trick. Rattrap, surprisingly, was the one who reminded the two that this was Optimus-friggin'-Primal they were talking about. Homecoming (issue)
The war continued, and Optimus Primal led Cheetor and several other Children of Primus against the forces of Unicron on countless occasions across several universes, but eventually, these interactions took a toll on Cheetor and the others. Contaminated by constant exposure to Unicron, Cheetor was afflicted with a nanotech "Unicron virus," which worsened with time. To keep from descending into madness or deactivation, Cheetor was rebuilt and repurified by Primal's Matrix of Purification. Hasbro Transformers Collectors' Club issue 9
Notes
* Cheetor fired the first shots of the Beast Wars. First he shot at Waspinator, unprovoked, and again at Megatron while Optimus was attempting to negotiate.

* Cheetor has the first line in the show Beast Wars; he also has the last line in the show Beast Machines, closing the arc of the two shows in a coherent development of Cheetor as a young rookie to Cheetor as commander.

* Cheetor and Tigatron are the only characters in Beast Wars who are definitely in the correct scale to the life form they have adopted as a beast mode, since Cheetor in specific was seen near a real cheetah in the pilot episode. As a result, Cheetor and Tigatron have the odd distinction of being the yardstick by which other Beast Wars characters' scale inconsistencies can be measured.

* Mainframe Entertainment's original plan for Transmetal Cheetor was to have his face mature over the course of the season, from a big-eared, wide-eyed, rounded face into one close to the toy. Also, he would have had a "Hero's Heart" which glowed after completing brave or heroic feats, somewhat akin to the classic anime character Astro Boy. Due to time and financial restrictions, none of these concepts panned out. Thankfully. His toy, however, DOES have a molded heart on the abdomen.

* Comic Bom Bom advertisements for the Game Boy Color's Duel Fight Transformers Beast Wars: Beast Warriors' Strongest Decisive Battle feature Cheetor with a slightly different (and much happier) head than the version which appeared in the game's instruction manual. Both are sickeningly cute, though.

* Cheetor has the somewhat dubious honour of being the only Maximal Megatron never refers to by name on the show.

* Though most early artwork for Beast Machines character designs were very different from the final product, Cheetor's design seems to have changed very little, with only the green being downplayed in his color scheme.

* In "Bee in the City", Beast Wars Megatron accidentally calls Bumblebee "Cheetor", the first instance of a running gag where the plucky young yellow kid-appeal bot is called by another kid-appeal bot's name.
** This is also ironic in being the first and only time his name is spoken by Megatron.

*In the Japanese dub of the Beast Wars cartoon and in the Beast Wars Metals manga, Cheetor had the quirk of ending nearly every sentence in a long, stressed "Jā-n", which is supposed to sound like a cute kitty growl. He maintains it in the Henkei pack-in comic that was packaged with him and Hound.

* According to Transformers Animated: The AllSpark Almanac II, Cheetor likes pie.
:Wreck-Gar is a very confused individual from the Transformers Animated continuity family.Whatever side he is he can be confusing but is a Autobot in the toy franchise
Recently brought to life by the power of the AllSpark, Wreck-Gar is simple-minded and highly suggestible. As he attempts to learn more about his identity, he never loses his sense of humor. His trash bin is an impressive bag of tricks, able to stash and deploy many useful (and even more useless) items at a moment's notice, or make them seemingly disappear forever. This ability is a bit of a mixed blessing, as Wreck-Gar will frequently confuse your request with something that sounds vaguely similar.

Wreck-Gar's primary goal in life is to acquire an identity. Additionally, he is eager to help people and be liked. He will automatically take on whatever role is suggested to him. This makes him rather unpredictable and prone to making the wrong move at the wrong time. However, if he can learn to think for himself instead of relying on others, there's potential in this friendly mix-and-match bot.

Wreck-Gar emerged from a garbage scow, activated by a shard of AllSpark energy that was close to Sari Sumdac's Key, self-aware but with no sense of history or identity. He tried to figure out what he was by studying objects in his environment and was briefly tricked by a food label into thinking he was high-fructose corn syrup. Spying a blimp proclaiming the Detroit Metro Police Department was "here to help", Wreck-Gar went off in search of the police for help. Once ashore, Wreck-Gar's clumsy curiosity prevented police officers from apprehending the Angry Archer, and the villain quickly conscripted Wreck-Gar as a sidekick, even giving the confused mechanoid his new, shorter name (as "worthless-wreck-walking-pile-of-garbage" was a bit overlong). Wreck-Gar helped the Archer disable an armored car, allowing him to steal a canister of unknown content right in front of the Autobots Ratchet and Bumblebee.

Upon seeing the Autobots and overhearing that they protected life and caught bad guys, Wreck-Gar decided he wanted to do that, slapped an Autobrand on his chest, and chased the escaping Archer. Throwing the Archer high into the air in order to "catch" him, Wreck-Gar only got the canister, as the Archer used a grappling arrow to escape. After being harshly told by Ratchet he was only good for one thing, GARBAGE!, Wreck-Gar proudly declared he was good for only one thing—GARBAGE!—and set about trying to deliver the stinky stuff to the entire citizenry of Detroit. (Detroit just happened to be in the middle of a garbage strike as well. Hooray!) The Autobots gave chase, having discovered the canister Wreck-Gar held contained experimental Sumdac Systems garbage-eating microbots, which Ratchet worried would be dangerously mutated by Wreck-Gar's AllSpark energy.

This mission became much more dangerous when he was approached by Lugnut, who was out to retrieve the AllSpark shard from Wreck-Gar's body. Thanks to Wreck-Gar's habit of repeating everything said to him (specifically, Ratchet's proclamation that "you're not an Autobot, and you never will be an Autobot!"), Lugnut believed the newcomer was just as much a loyal Decepticon as himself. When Ratchet accosted Wreck-Gar, Lugnut prepared his Punch of Kill Everything, which Wreck-Gar took to mean the universal greeting, so he gave Lugnut a high-five that left a colossal impact crater. As the Autobots ran for it, Wreck-Gar hopped on the pursuing Lugnut, pulling out the now-cracked microbot canister he'd gotten. A small amount spilled on Lugnut and began eating through his tail section. Wreck-Gar helpfully disassembled the tail, sending Lugnut plummeting somewhere in Detroit, with himself and the tail landing in a full garbage scow, which the nanobots quickly began to consume. From the shore, a group of bystanders began cheering as they saw the scow's load diminish. Now supplied with a fresh load of garbage and mistaking the cheers as intended for his delivery of said garbage, Wreck-Gar pushed the scow full steam ahead.

Wreck-Gar's attempt to deliver it was impeded by Ratchet, who first screamed at the junk-bot that the nanobots would destroy the entire city should they reach shore, but Wreck-Gar was adamant. Ratchet then did the hardest thing he'd ever had to do: apologize for his insults and bad attitude. Ratchet told the now-even-more-confused robot that he could be whatever he wanted and to not let others decide for him who he was. Wreck-Gar decided he truly wanted to be a hero, and slapping the Autobot symbol on his chest once again, began vacuuming up the nanobots. The nanobots began to overload within his backpack, however, and as Wreck-Gar tumbled off of what was left of the scow, he cried out his thank-you to Ratchet. An explosion of AllSpark energy burst from the water, and all Ratchet's magnetic power could retrieve was random junk...

And, at the bottom of the lake, Wreck-Gar smiled to himself, a hero. Despite being buried up to his shoulders, he assured the fish passing by he was there to help...but first...could somebody give him a hand or a fin? Garbage In, Garbage Out

Eventually roused from his lakebed slumber by the crude raft of Sari Sumdac's ragtag crew, he joined the Substitute Autobots to help liberate Detroit from the grip of Soundwave. A bit less befuddled than in previous encounters, he proved (mostly) effective in aiding Sari in battle, only being defeated once Soundwave was able to focus his attentions solely on controlling Optimus Prime. Afterward, he enthusiastically pitched in on the cleanup efforts, collecting the scraps of hundreds of Porter C. Powell's damaged Soundwave toys.

He even got into the holiday spirit a bit, playing Santa and handing out garbage to all the good little girls and boys. Human Error, Part II
**Accessories: 2 scissor-blade weapons

: Wreck-Gar transforms into a garbage truck with articulated lifting-forks. Pushing a small spring-loaded lever on the back of either of the lifting forks will extend the fork forward. The sliding lever on the top of the truck exposes both of his weapons from slots in the rear. These blade- or scissor-like weapons can attach to his forearms, or combine into a single bladed weapon which can also attach to either of his forearms. (Don't run with them!) His transformation involves pulling nearly his entire robot mode out from under the truck mode, meaning he wears his vehicle mode like a backpack, which severely restricts his waist articulation. However, you don't care because Wreck-Gar is awesome (and it's show-accurate).

: A number of Wreck-Gars have a problem with their right shoulders that causes the pin to move out of its position when the shoulder is moved during transformation. It is currently unknown if this would eventually cause the pin to pop out completely.

: The Japanese release of Wreck-Gar is virtually identical to the Hasbro version; the only notable change to the Japanese version is the use of a white-and-red Autobot symbol rather than a non-outlined silver one.
There are three versions of the Wreck-Gar card so far for both games: the first series shows his toy, but versions 2.0 and 3.0 use his in-game graphics (based directly on the toy) with different backgrounds. The Version 3.0 shows Ratchet in the background, indicating that Wreck-Gar and Ratchet are a particularly effective character pairing for a two-player game.
Version 3.0 added his robot mode to the lineup of The Shooting, but it's a bit of a downgrade, with a 10-point reduction to both "Fireblast" and "Magazine" (ammo), as well as changing his weapon to the "Beam Gun". Eco Wreck-Gar's deco is based on the common coloration for Japanese garbage trucks; a white cab with a blue container. Just as with his normal-color Version 3.0 cards, Eco Wreck-Gar has Ratchet as his optimal partner.
Notes
* Originally, the creators wanted Eric Idle to play Wreck-Gar, as he was the original voice for his Generation 1 namesake. As Idle was busy with the production of Spamalot, Weird Al was selected instead.
* Wreck-Gar's head is an old-fashioned portable TV set, complete with channel selection dials, aerial and a handle for transport. As art director/character designer Derrick J. Wyatt has admitted to being heavily influenced by Gainax shows, this may well be a visual cue to FLCL, along with the resemblance to the original Wreck-Gar's head and his "TV talk" persona. Plus, in the music video for Dare To Be Stupid, Weird Al 's head turns into a tv at one point.
* Wreck-Gar's line "I dare to be stupid!" is something of a double-callout, as the Weird Al song "Dare to Be Stupid" was featured in the original Transformers movie during the battle against the Junkions, and Wreck-Gar himself is voiced by Al.
* Then, of course, there's the accordion in one of the above images. Al himself has been an accordion player since the age of 7.
* Transformers Animated story editor Marty Isenberg stated in an interview that the idea of a garbage bin that Wreck-Gar can pull anything out of was inspired by Harpo Marx.
* Among the things that Wreck-Gar throws at Ratchet and Bumblebee when they meet is a motorcycle resembling the alt mode of the original Wreck-Gar.
* Weird Al stated in a Q&A at 2009 that Wreck-Gar ended up working with Detroit's sanitation committee. Sounds like he's living the American dream!
