Near the dawn of time, while the Thirteen were struggling with the threat of [[Unicron]], [[The Fallen|Megatronus Prime]] commissioned Solus Prime to create a weapon of incredible destruction to use against the Chaos Bringer. Solus Prime had strong reservations, but after a long period of time managed to create the Requiem Blaster. She gathered the interested members of the Thirteen to witness a test of its powers, and leveled a mountain. She pointed out that power corrupts and worried that the existence of such a weapon could possibly lead to their own downfall. Ultimately, the Thirteen voted seven to six to keep the Requiem Blaster and not destroy it.

It was Solus Prime's sudden murder at the hands of the enraged Megatronus Prime that caused the first major schism in the Thirteen. After Megatronus Prime became The Fallen and was defeated by the remnants of the Thirteen, a tomb was fashioned for Solus Prime out of a meteor and set adrift in the stars, reachable only by a series of [[space bridge]]s.

Countless years later, [[Optimus Prime (Prime)|Optimus Prime]] came across Solus Prime's tomb while searching for a mystical artifact. A semi-sentient hologram of Solus Prime appeared and warned Optimus and his Autobots to leave. Solus Prime directed them towards a Space Bridge which would take them to the location of the lost Requiem Blaster.

* In the [[Dead Universe]], [[Nova Prime]] orders [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] to Earth to deal with the Reapers, whom Sixshot has aligned with before he's shut down by Starscream. The other Decepticons engage the Reapers, losing the [[Battlecharger]]s, before being covertly assisted by Galvatron, who returns to the Dead Universe with the body of Sixshot.

The Mini-Cons and drones can be attached to any Commander, leading to ''millions'' of possible combinations between all of the figures.

Unlike the Mini-Cons of [[Unicron Trilogy|previous]] [[Classics (2006)|lines]], the Power Core Combiner Mini-Cons lack their own independent vehicle or animal modes. Rather, they turn from robots into accessories for their Commanders. In vehicle mode, a Commander can use a Mini-Con as a weapon or tool. In robot mode, a Commander can wield a Mini-Con as a hand-held weapon or wear him as armor.

The drones are similar to ''[[Energon (franchise)|Energon]]'' [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]]'s "[[Prime Force]]", being vehicles with no robot modes. While the drones are left/right interchangeable, an arm-drone cannot become a leg-drone (or vice versa) making them more limited than the Prime Force drones. However, the fact that there are several teams of drones who can be swapped among Commanders adds a [[Special Teams|Scramble-City-esque]] dimension of play. Also, people who love [[Transformer]]s but hate transforming can breathe easy in the knowledge that the drones [[Automorph Technology|automorph]] into and out of limb mode simply by being plugged into and removed from a Commander.

Each 5-pack contains a Commander and four drone-units.

The Commanders have the same functionality as the 2-pack Commanders, only those designed originally for 5-packs have... less-than-useful Powerlinx plug locations, making dubious use of the 2-pack Mini-Cons' armor modes.

The drones each [[Automorph Technology|automatically transform]] into a super-robot limb when they are attached to the bright blue connector points on any Commander's "power up" mode, and snap back to drone-mode once removed. Arm-drones and leg-drones cannot swap functions; they ''can'' be attached to each others' connection points , but arms will always be arms and legs will always be legs. Each drone also has Mini-Con [[Powerlinx]] [[peg|hardpoint]]s.
