Optimus Prime was created, along with [[Ultra Magnus (RID)|Ultra Magnus]], by [[Alpha Trion]]. The two of them were raised together, and thus, saw each other as brothers. However, this relationship was torn apart after the Cybertron Civil Wars, whereupon the [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]] chose Optimus Prime to command the Autobots in stopping the [[Predacon (RID)|Predacon]] leader [[Megatron (RID)|Megatron]] from ravaging the universe in his quest for energy. Ultra Magnus left Cybertron that same day, bitter and spiteful of his brother.

Prime soon struck up command on [[Earth]], where he took the form of a fire truck. Operating out of a secret base in [[Metro City]], he and his fellow Autobots were more than ready to face Megatron and his Predacons. The conflict began when Megatron appeared in New York, attempting to kidnap the famous scientist [[Doctor Onishi]]. Optimus struck up a friendship with Onishi's son, [[Koji Onishi|Koji]], and despite not being able to save the boy's father, vowed that he would help rescue him.

In the events that followed, Prime was forced to deal with the Predacons' many energy-grabbing schemes, either personally, or indirectly by way of helping [[T-AI]] coordinate the movement of his troops by way of the [[space bridge|Global Space Bridge]].

However, Prime soon found another threat, in the form of the Decepticons - namely, one named [[Scourge (RID)|Scourge]]. Scourge was a corrupted Autobot [[protoform]], who, in addition to being infused with Megatron's evil, scanned Optimus Prime and a tanker truck at the same time, resulting in his looking like a twisted clone of the Autobot leader. Prime hoped that Scourge and his fellow Decepticons would one day be restored to their true Autobot selves, but after the Decepticons themselves tried to use this to trick him, he decided he should not allow this to cloud his judgement.

Matters escalated when Ultra Magnus appeared on Earth, making his desire to take the Matrix from Optimus Prime known to his "brother." Optimus refused to fight Magnus, and was thus, mercilessly fired upon, until [[Side Burn (RID)|Side Burn]], [[Prowl (RID)|Prowl]], and [[X-Brawn]] arrived to carry him away. Prime took refuge on a deserted island, but the Decepticons, Megatron, and Magnus both tracked him there. In the midst of the battle, Magnus forcibly activated their ability to combine into [[Omega Prime]], intending to use it to drain Prime of his energy so he could take the Matrix, but Optimus managed to take control and use their combination to stop the Decepticons. This fusion apparently resulted in both Autobots sharing the Matrix's power, which led to Magnus's attitude softening towards his brother.

Eventually, it was revealed that Megatron's true purpose on Earth was to take control of the massive Autobot, [[Fortress Maximus (RID)|Fortress Maximus]]. These events led to Megatron becoming the more powerful Galvatron, who eventually devastated the Autobot forces. In his final battle with the evil leader, Prime and Magnus combined into Omega Prime to face Galvatron at the Earth's core. They were seemingly no match for him, until Fortress Maximus sent them his power, which energized the Matrix, forming the giant weapon, the [[Matrix Blade]]. Galvatron was defeated, and with that, the Autobots' mission on Earth was finished, and Prime resolved to return to Cybertron - but not before "one last look around" with Koji and the rest of his team.

With the other Autobots all engaged in other fights around the world, Optimus Prime alone was available to answer TAI's battle protocol at an experimental nuclear generator in Arizona. His opening plan was to lure the Predacons and Decepticons away from the humans to battle them at a safe distance, but his wayward brother Ultra Magnus intervened, confronting the villains head on in the middle of the generator plant. As Prime chastised Magnus for his rash action, Scourge overheard and seized on the idea to threaten the humans if the Autobots didn't stand down. Despite his anger at Optimus, Ultra Magnus remembered his Autobot training and reluctantly laid down his weapon. At the proper moment, though, the brothers managed to attack a distracted Scourge and save the humans. The Predacons and Decepticons escaped with the generator, but the humans were safe.

Omega Prime and the others fled through a dimensional portal, but the powerlinxed brothers were diverted by the former [[Mini-Con]] [[Over-Run (Armada)|Over-Run]] into another reality, just in time to stop [[Nemesis Prime (Universe)|Nemesis Prime]] from unleashing the [[Dead Matrix]] inside the Spark Chamber of [[Primus]]. The evil clone was vanquished, and the brothers hooked up with [[Sentinel Maximus]] and his comrades as they attempted to fortify Cybertron against the [[Unicron Singularity]].

Working relatively behind the scenes while that reality's [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] and his crew searched for the [[Cyber Planet Key|Cyber Planet Keys]], Optimus Prime and his brother found themselves moderating an internal dispute among the Mini-Con colonies in Cybertron's debris field, and were engaged with a Cybertronian-sized version of [[Unicron]] himself when Primus first transformed due to an infusion of Cyber Key Power. Some months later, after the final battle with the Cyber Key empowered [[Megatron (Armada)|Galvatron]], Optimus Prime first met his local counterpart, and they exchanged information on their endeavors over the last few months. With the newly reformed Unicron on the loose after their last encounter, Optimus chose to join Ultra Magnus and Sentinel Maximus in hunting him down. Maybe if the stuff you said was funny, no one would have a problem with it, but most of the jokes on here are pretty lame, it's not about transformers fans being serious, it's about your jokes being bad. When other people try to put there humor in it, you erase it. Sooooo make the jokes funny and you wont have to worry about it. Besides the Real Wikipedia has more information on transformers than the one dedicated to transformers have, what gives. Maybe before you work on your lame jokes you can fill out the information on the article. Sorry just what I think about it, don't take to much offence. {{unsigned|67.140.110.210}}

:Humor is subjective. Pesonally, I consider most of the jokes on this site to be neutral. They are clearly trying to be silly, but neither funny nor painful. They merely lighten the tone. Users who show up here and do nothing but change jokes into different jokes are clearly not accomplishing anything. The new jokes are never any better -- they are merely different, and often worse. That is a waste of everybody's time. I haven't spent a lot of time browsing Transformers material on Wikipedia, but I highly doubt that their information is ''better'', even if there might be a larger quantity of it. What little I've seen there has been disorganized, mixes fan assertions with canon, and is at times not even reliable. ::Yep, this wiki is a far more reliable source of information for Transformers than the Wikipedia shall ever be. I've corrected some of their base assumptions and half-truths upon occassion. If we lack information for something, '''then feel free to contribute''' to our wiki or wait for one of us to get around to it. Really, what the Wikipedia offers is rather generalised information and (as steve-o points out) fan-assumed fanon and downright false information. Besides, we provide the Transformers info that the users on the wikipedia either don't know or won't bother with, such as info on the toys, their designers, toy construction materials, obscure series and/or characters and so on.

Nice going guys. You finally got rid of Megatron... and then replaced him with Primal Prime, who's been on for three months. Either someone tell me how to change that article, or ''please'' replace it with something new--how about Optimus Prime's G1 toys? I also thought it would make more sense to change "comic" to "comics" under Generation 1 and Beast Wars since they both had more than one comic series. I also put a "comic" link under Beast Machines that goes to the Wreckers comic since that ''is'' a Beast Machines comic series. And I thought "comics" should be "comic" under Animated since so far it only had one comic series that we know of. And "Sequel" was already put under Transformers (2007), since I saw that it was capitalized, that's what gave me the idea to capitalize the rest. :Unfortunately, a quick investigation tells me that Wikia does not come equipped with any of the table-collapse scripts found on Wikipedia (they have custom ones for the table of contents and category trees, but they aren't cross-adaptable.) It ''might'' be possible to install one of them purely in the Monobook.js file we can edit (I feel like there might be PHP integration, which we can't) but even then the scripts are very limited, and don't do quite what we want.
:Wikipedia has generally be very, very distrustful of implementing those kind of drop-downs because of compatibility issues. Making Javascript a fundamental part of your site's navigation is bad because if someone turns it off or cripples its functions to suppress annoying ads... thennt his site ceases to function.
:So, while a drop-down may be ''possible'' with considerable effort, it brings entailed problems that would seem to outweigh any benefits it delivers. Typing something into the box and actually clicking the button marked "search" is the option that brings up a list of stuff containing the term, and that's the button we appear to have lost here (although on my screen at least, it's coming and going intermittently, but that's probably a browser cache thing). I've not got the Monaco skin on, but regarding that, I rather like it, and I'd like to see it implimented.
