==''Transformers 2'' and the 2007-2008 Writers Strike==
In late 2007, during preproduction for ''Transformers 2,'' the [[Wikipedia:2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike|Writers Guild of America went on strike]]. At the time, [[Roberto Orci]] stated that the strike could likely delay ''Transformers 2's'' release. However, Michael Bay refuted this, claiming the movie was still on schedule.<ref>[http://www.shootfortheedit.com/forum/showthread.php?p=6200#post6200 Robert Orci discusses the strike & TF2]</ref> The reason behind Bay's confidence was discovered by Orci shortly after the strike ended. The director had apparently taken the outline the writers had handed in the night before the strike, and begun movie prep based on it.<ref>[http://www.donmurphy.net/board/showthread.php?t=24357&page=4 Don Murphy message board - Orci on the aftermath of the strike]</ref> There are rumours that the film actors strike of 2008 could delay the film (why so many strikes!)
