The '''Headmaster''' is the alternate identity of '''Henry Masterson''', a disgruntled [[Sumdac Systems]] employee with the ability to take control of robots by replacing their heads with robotic heads that he controls. He's a gigantic dork who plays too many video games and seems to have crossed the line between reality and fiction. His vocabulary is littered with slang from teh internets, with terms like "n00bs" and "Total ownage!"

The Headmaster's control unit possesses a veritable arsenal of onboard weaponry, with grenades, missiles, and lasers, the latter of which can be used for combat or to decapitate his robot victims. The control unit can also transform from head to bipedal robot.

:''Voice actor'': [[Alexander Polinsky]] (English), [[Alexander Doering]] (German)

[[Image:Henrymastersonandhead.jpg|left|200px|thumb|All ur face r belong 2 us.]]
Henry Masterson grew up tinkering with Sumdac Systems robots and got a job as an engineer for them at a relatively young age. His genius caught the attention of his superiors, and he eventually had the honor of presenting his "Headmaster" project, a human-piloted transforming battle suit that could remove and replace the heads of automatons, to [[Isaac Sumdac]] himself. The demonstration went awry when the Headmaster unit proved to be too heavy for his robotic test subject, making it collapse and sending its weaponry towards [[Detroit]]. Sumdac, incensed by Masterson's plans to put his invention to military use, fired him in a fit of Donald Trump-esque rage.

Masterson apparently absconded with his Headmaster prototype and went off to sulk and play with his Rock 'Em, Sock 'Em Robots. He decided that having his own company would be "wicked sweet", as would exacting his revenge on Sumdac. Needing a robot sturdy enough to support his control unit, he chanced upon a news report on [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]]. The emo jerk ambushed and decapitated Bulkhead and subsequently went on a rampage in the Autobot's body.

[[Image:Headmastertotalownage.jpg|right|thumb|150px|im inside ur body shootn ur doods]]
He demolished several Sumdac [[police drone]]s en route to a solar power plant. Dubbing himself "the Headmaster", he hijacked local television broadcasts to deliver his ultimatum: Unless he was paid $700 billion, personally delivered by Isaac Sumdac, he would set the [[solar fusion reactor]] to overload, which would result in the obliteration of the entire state of [[Michigan]] (including Masterson himself). Sumdac arrived in a [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|tractor trailer]], accompanied by [[Sari Sumdac|his daughter]], [[Captain Fanzone]], and a [[Bumblebee (Animated)|small]] [[Prowl (Animated)|convoy]] of [[Ratchet (Animated)|vehicles]]. Sumdac offered Henry the money, but the Headmaster grabbed him and announced his intention to take the ransom money and destroy the city of Detroit anyway, then use the threat of future robot attacks to sell his Headmaster units to the military.

When he checked the trailer for the money, he found only the enraged head of Bulkhead. The convoy of vehicles revealed themselves as the [[Autobot]]s and engaged the Headmaster in combat. After taking a pounding from them, the Headmaster unleashed the weaponry of his control unit. He managed to corner Optimus Prime and began to slice the Autobot leader's head off. Prevented from doing so thanks to an ambush by Bulkhead's severed head, the Headmaster was soon felled by Prowl. Masterson decided to flee, but his flying Headmaster unit was knocked out of the sky by the still-disembodied Bulkhead. With the Autobots distracted by the overloading reactor, the Headmaster transformed his head unit into robot mode and fled. {{storylink|Headmaster (episode)|Headmaster}}
*'''Bulkhead''' (Leader, 2008)
:The Headmaster appears as a second head that can be fitted over Bulkhead's head. This feature is available on all Leader class toys. Applying the head alters the sound gimmicks of said toys, causing them to play clips of the Headmaster.

==Trivia==
* The Headmaster is the first ''Animated'' supervillain to escape capture by the end of the episode. Guess he isn't a ''total'' loser.
* Like [[Nanosec|some]] villains in the series, his real name is a pun on his eventual supervillain name.
* Because the Headmaster is not an actual Transformer, his transformation sound is very different.
* Headmaster seems to be the Transformers equivalent of [[Wikipedia:Control Freak (villain)|Control Freak]] from the [[Wikipedia:Teen Titans (TV series)|Teen Titans cartoon]], even having the same voice actor, [[Derrick Wyatt|creator]], and similar manner of speaking. Although Headmaster's peculiarities are centered around computers, Control Freak's were centered around television.
Professor Princess attacked a toy store where [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]] and [[Sari Sumdac]] were shopping as part of her crusade to destroy "awful, violent toys" (''oh, the irony...''). In her opening attack, she succeeded in incapacitating Bulkhead. However, Sari weakened her with a concentrated attack of very loud music from a [[Sari Sumdac's Key|key-enchanced]] stereo, and Bulkhead pinched Powdered Sugar's laser horn as it was about to fire, causing it to explode. The wannabe supervillainess was left bawling in the middle of the street, her unicorn's decapitated head on her lap. {{storylink|Sound and Fury}}
:''Voice actor:'' [[Corey Burton]] (English), [[Gunnar Helm]](small)/[[Gerald Paradies]](giant) (German)

[[Image:Cyrus_Rhodes.jpg|150px|left|thumb|Yoda grew a beard!]] Cyrus Rhodes first appeared as a combatant in a wrestling match staged by Prometheus Black to show off how effective biotechnology is. Though he seemed to be just a tiny, old man, pistons implanted in his back began pumping super-steroids that quickly made him more than a match for [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]]. He tossed the plucky little 'bot out of the ring, and then proceeded to make a mess out of him and most of the surrounding parking lot. He was then disoriented by the sounds of a nearby car alarm, giving [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]] a chance to disable the pistons that granted him his enhancements. [[Captain Fanzone]] was not impressed by Rhodes's crazed, berserker-like state and denied Black the coveted Detroit police contract.

Later, as Black attacked the Sumdac corporation as the villainous Meltdown, Rhodes was left to mop up the opposition outside. Prowl again tried to disable the freak's steroid pistons, but Rhodes commented that the "boss" had reinforced them. Ultimately, he became disoriented again when he accidentally tossed [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] against a church bell. Prowl correctly surmised that sonics were Rhodes's weakness, so Prime struck the bell repeatedly and forced Rhodes back into his normal, un-enhanced form. {{storylink|Total Meltdown}}

Several weeks later, he was still working for Black. After [[Swoop (Animated)|Swoop]] kidnapped Sari, Black left Rhodes to guard her. However, he wasn't very good at it, as Sari tricked him into walking into a bathroom and drenched him with water, which shorted out his "electrode thingies". He later got his pistons working and emerged from Black's hideout (along with Black's two other mutant freaks) to help their boss, but met up with the [[Dinobot (Animated)| Dinobots]]. After being frightened by the Dinobots' [[Energo-sword|menacing flaming weapons,]] Rhodes and his cohorts were thoroughly trashed by the robot dinosaurs. {{storylink|Survival of the Fittest}}

==Trivia==
* Colossus Rhodes's name is a reference to the [[wikipedia:Colossus of Rhodes|Colossus of Rhodes]], one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

* His vulnerability to high-frequency sonic waves seems similar to the that of Marvel supervillain [[Venom (Crossovers)|Venom]], another joint trait being that their shared weakness is discovered by the accidental ringing of a church bell, as seen in ''Spider-Man 3''.

* His pumps also malfunction when they get into contact with water. Yes, clearly a great success, Prometheus.

* This doesn't even touch on his thematic resemblance to DC Comics's steroid-pumped freak, [[Wikipedia:Bane (comics)|Bane]].
In addition to being able to melt things by touching them, Meltdown can also fire jets of the acid that covers him from the palms of his hands. Prometheus Black's biotechnology business was highly successful because it played off the citizens of Detroit's fear of <strike>illegal immigrants</strike> robots stealing their jobs. Much of his money was made on makeovers of some of the city's less physically gifted individuals, but he finally staged a promotion aimed at getting himself a contract with the city's police force. Pitting the seemingly frail old man Colossus Rhodes against [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]], he hoped to win the support of [[Captain Fanzone]]. Unfortunately, Rhodes's rampage in the parking lot convinced Fanzone to recommend canceling all of Black's contracts with the city, leaving Black financially ruined. His venture capital backers, represented by [[Porter C. Powell]], pulled out.

[[Image:Meltdownaproch.jpg|thumbnail|left|Look what you've done! I'm melting! I'm melting!]]

Discovering a corrosive from Bumblebee's systems, Black attempted to make an acid which would melt Autobot body armor. However, a lab accident caused the acid to bond with Black. Now calling himself Meltdown, he decided to take his revenge on Sumdac. Meltdown broke into [[Sumdac Tower]] and nearly killed the "nerd". However, Bumblebee managed to save Sumdac, and [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]] imprisoned Meltdown in a [[force field]]. {{storylink|Total Meltdown}}

Meltdown and Colossus discovered the [[Dinobot (Animated)|Dinobots]]' island, and using his ability to corrode strong alloys, he forced the Dinobots into servitude. His new goal was the creation of "human transformers". However, his early experiments (one involving his lawyer) were failures, and he decided to try again, this time with a child. He sent [[Swoop (Animated)|Swoop]] to kidnap [[Sari Sumdac|Sari]], Isaac's daughter, but [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]], [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]] and Captain Fanzone's interference not only put a stop to his plan, but freed the Dinobots... whose first decision was to try and rend Meltdown limb from limb. Prowl gave him a choice: Dinobots or prison. Surprise, surprise, he chose prison. {{storylink|Survival of the Fittest}}
Aiming to make a clean getaway, he attempted to steal a [[Bumblebee (Animated)|cute little yellow car]], only to discover that not all robots are that dumb. At first the young Autobot showed off, running rings around him. However, an argument broke out between Bumblebee and [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]], giving Nino the chance to escape. Bulkhead stopped him, but the Autobot apparently didn't realize the fragility of the wooden boardwalk they were on, destroying it and sending the two robots into the drink. Saved from falling by [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]], Nino was sent straight to jail.

After [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]] manipulated Sumdac Systems' computers to post Nino's bail, he also had them deliver a prototype speed-enhancing suit to the newly freed crook. Realizing his good fortune, Nino did what anyone sensible would do: He went on a crime spree. Taking the ''nom de guerre'' of "Nanosec" overheard from a theft victim ("It just disappeared...in a nanosec!"), Sexton soon found that when moving at high speeds, he could receive communications from his robotic benefactor. Megatron offered him access to Isaac Sumdac's bank account in exchange for a heist to acquire [[Destronium|a substance]] to rebuild Megatron's body from one of Sumdac's laboratories, to be delivered within ten minutes of it being taken from the lab.

Though the heist itself went flawlessly, Nanosec was hotly pursued by the Autobots as he made his way to his new boss. Due largely to Bumblebee's haywire new turbo boosters causing him to careen around out of control, Nanosec was repeatedly able to escape capture. Finally, Bumblebee noticed the aging effects of Nanosec's superspeed, and using his new boosters, literally ran the vigorous villain into a geriatric state. ''Harsh'', Bumblebee.

Once the now-explosive substance was hurled into the upper atmosphere, the withered thief was taken into police custody. {{storylink|Nanosec (episode)|Nanosec}}
'''Captain Fanzone''' is the apparent head of the [[Detroit]] police department. He hates machines, but in an "I'm old" sort of way rather than being evil or anything. However, despite his oft-repeated mantra of "''This'' is why I hate machines" whenever some device in his vicinity goes on the fritz (often with comedic, embarrassing results), he's pragmatic enough to make use of technology when needed. For example, he's a world champion at yelling at subordinates through megaphones for added effect. And firing heavy weaponry at [[Dinobot (Animated)|rampaging robot]]s.

Despite his endless battle with the march of progress and general poor luck, Fanzone is a good cop, dedicated to protecting the people of his city. He's also not a bad guy to have in a brawl. He doesn't ''completely'' trust the [[Autobot]]s, but he's at least assured that they mean well and, like him, are here to protect and serve the city.
It was the beginning of a bad day when Captain Fanzone got a call for all units to respond to [[Sumdac Systems]] down by Lake Erie. (It was in the middle of his lunch break.) Taking command of the assembled emergency units, Fanzone quickly realized that they were in over their heads fighting a rampaging cybernetic bug-slug, and he ordered all humans to fall back and allow the drones to deal with the creature. When he noticed four cars refusing to fall back, he demanded to know who they were...at which point he realized [[Prowl (Animated)|a cop bike]] had no driver, and his own car was among the group. It got even weirder when it turned out they were [[Transformer|alien robot]]s, but [[Sari Sumdac|some little girl]] managed to talk the cops down from shooting at the invaders.

Several days later, Fanzone, the Mayor, [[Isaac Sumdac]], and [[Bumblebee (Animated)|that robot that looks like his car]] were taken hostage by [[Starscream (Animated)|an evil jet]], but were saved by the aforementioned little girl and the cop bike. As the cop bike took him down, Fanzone declared that this is why he hates machines. Thankless primate. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}

Fanzone was courted by [[Prometheus Black]], who hoped to use the Captain's mistrust of machines in general and Sumdac products in specific to win his company a contract with the Detroit police department. However, once he saw the berserk rage that [[Colossus Rhodes]] displayed when smashing up the parking lot of an arena, he decided he didn't much like Black's biotechnology either. Not long after, he presided over a demonstration of new Sumdac models which proved to still have a few bugs in the system. Sumdac mentioned that these models had much better recognition systems, thus avoiding the unfortunate incident with the Captain's wife. However, sabotage courtesy of the newly minted supervillain Meltdown ensured that the new robots were still far from ready for prime-time. {{storylink|Total Meltdown}}

[[Image:Fanzone.jpg|left|thumb|200px|It's amazing what you can find on [[eBay]] these days...]]
When police responded to the rampage of the [[Dinobot (Animated)|Dinobot]]s, Captain Fanzone arrived and asked how bad it was into his megaphone...to an officer who was standing right next to him. The officer pointed at the rampaging robots, as [[Snarl (Animated)|a mechanical triceratops]] sent a car flying through the air, which hit Fanzone's car, crushing it. Captain Fanzone remained completely unmoved, then grabbed a bazooka from a nearby officer and fired at the triceratops...which promptly ate the projectile. Fanzone again proclaimed his dislike of machines. {{storylink|Blast from the Past}}

After [[Nanosec]]'s defeat by the Autobots, Fanzone took the suddenly elderly supervillain into custody. {{storylink|Nanosec (episode)|Nanosec}}

Captain Fanzone accompanied a number of DPD officers to a military base where the [[Decepticons]] [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]] and [[Lugnut]] had been sighted. He was quite miffed to find that the two giant alien robots had apparently vanished into thin air, unaware that the two had adopted [[Earth]] modes and were hiding in plain sight, and with very odd color schemes. {{storylink|Lost and Found (Animated episode)|Lost and Found}}

Captain Fanzone was brought in to lead the investigation regarding Sari Sumdac's disappearance and probable kidnapping. In questioning the Autobots, he was somewhat dubious as to the merits of teaching a little girl "ninja nerve blows." After noticing suspicious behavior from Prowl and Bulkhead, he resolved to follow the two Autobots and pursued them in a (increasingly leaking) submersible. Nature proved almost more hostile to the Captain than technology, ultimately resulting in him getting trapped in quicksand and requiring rescue from the very individuals he was shadowing. Grudgingly going along with them, he uncovered Prometheus Black's plan to genetically alter Sari into a biotechnological shapeshifter. His outrage was brief however as the mad scientist dropped him into a gladiatorial arena and sicced his failed experiments on the Captain and Prowl. Forced to team up to survive, the Autobot earned the Captain's respect and trust as they fought their way out of the research facility. {{storylink|Survival of the Fittest}}

==Trivia==
* Captain Fanzone is so slow to adopt new technology that he has a [[wikipedia:rotary dial|rotary dial]] cell phone...and he even has problems with that.
* With his "why can't things be as they were" attitude and dislike for anything new, Fanzone could well be a tongue-in-cheek parody of the most homicidally conservative members of the Transformers [[Fandom|fanbase]]. His surname seems to confirm this{{m-}}heck, it could only be more blatant if his first name was [[Geewun]].

:''Isaac Sumdac is a [[human]] from the [[Transformers Animated]] [[continuity family]].''

[[Image:IsaacSumdacModel.jpg|thumb|150px|For building so much, he has very tiny arms.]]

What Henry Ford and Bill Gates were to the 20th century, '''Isaac Sumdac''' is to the 21st. He plays a vital role in the [[automaton]] industry of near-future Detroit. The founder of [[Sumdac Systems]], he is also the adoptive father of [[Sari Sumdac|Sari]]. He probably won't be winning any parenting awards soon, considering he leaves the raising of Sari to robots, seemingly neglects her for days while he works in his lab, and lets her stay overnight with a group of [[Autobot|giant alien robot]]s at an undisclosed location. Being a single parent isn't easy, but being a ''rich'' single parent should make it a little easier. It's worth mentioning, however, that for all his faults, Isaac is a very devoted father (when he remembers that there is a world beyond his lab), as shown by his concerns towards Sari's safety, the elaborate birthday presents he crafts for her, and his attempts to help her make friends (even if this does involve press-ganging the children of his employees into service).

He seems to think big, psychotic, [[Dinobot (Animated)|robot dinosaurs]] would be a good thing to have around. [[Simon Furman|Some]] [[Donald F. Glut|would]] [[Wheeljack (G1)|agree]]. Despite this, he has a code of ethics that results in [[Sumdac Systems]] having a zero-military-hardware policy, though they are willing to develop drone cop-bots for the Police Department. Isaac cares enough about the common good that when over-zealous employee [[Henry Masterson|Henry Masterson]] developed an obsession with war-bots and endangered the safety of [[Detroit]] in the process, Isaac had no hesitation in firing Masterson on the spot.

With his fame, wealth, and expertise, he will probably be of no interest whatsoever to the [[Decepticon]]s. Certainly his friend, [[Megatron (Animated)|the giant talking head in his lab]], would let him know if that wasn't true. After all, he's an Autobot, and they would never lie to a human!

{{quote|I should be more careful when reverse-engineering alien technology.|Isaac Sumdac|"[[Blast from the Past]]"}}

==Fiction==
{{ongoing}}
:''Voice actor:'' [[Tom Kenny]] (English), [[Johannes Berenz]] (German)
As a youth, Sumdac found [[Megatron (Animated)| Megatron]]'s head after it crashed on Earth and [[Sector Seven|reverse-engineered]] it. It is from this that he gained all of the technology he used to build his robots. He was (understandably) terrified that the [[Autobot]]s, not to mention the world at large, might find out what launched his robotics empire. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}

Sumdac was shocked to find Megatron still functioned. He confirmed that the robot was indeed an old friend of the Autobots, but bore no grudge. Megatron even suggested the Autobots would be more forgiving of Isaac dissecting him if the scientist gave him a new body before revealing the truth. As a sign of good faith, Megatron helped Sumdac rebuild his [[Dinobots (Animated)|robot dinosaurs]]. Unfortunately, a glitch made them rampage twice, and Isaac felt annoyed at the bad job he'd done. However, Megatron took the blame upon himself and was ashamed that he'd built weapons into the dinosaurs out of his desire to have a body again. Sumdac sympathized with his friend, promising not to tell the Autobots and to restore him one day. {{storylink|Blast from the Past}}

Isaac briefly attempted to rebuild Megatron, but his modifications were unworkable due to lack of [[destronium|a critically needed element]]. It just so happened that Sumdac Systems' product line also included a prototype reflex-augmentation suit; when the only working model was mysteriously stolen and the thief then used it to try to retrieve the critical element Megatron desperately wanted, Isaac found that confusing but seemed otherwise untroubled. {{storylink|Nanosec (episode)|Nanosec}}

For Sari's birthday party, he tried to get some kids her own age (all children of his employees) to hang around with her, but even with the help of the Autobots, this did not really work. Luckily, she was happy with her new present, [[Soundwave (Animated)|Soundwave]], a musical robot that had been created by Megatron simply to please children. (It turned evil but, surely that was all an accident on Meg's part!) Isaac appears to design and make special robots for many of Sari's birthdays, each trying to be better than the last, though as he sadly notes to Megatron, she seems to forget them quite quickly. {{storylink|Sound and Fury}}

[[Image:N00b.jpg|thumb|left|150px|"Total OWNAGE, [[Henry Masterson|n00b!]]"]]
After meeting with Henry Masterson, who showed Sumdac the "[[Headmaster (technology)|Headmaster unit]]", he was horrified to discover that Masterson planned to use the technology for military purposes. Things got even worse when the rocket that Masterson's warbot controlled went flying into the city of Detroit. Furious, Sumdac fired Masterson on the spot. Several days later, Masterson stole the Autobot [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]]'s body and used it to take control of a solar fusion power plant, demanding 700 billion dollars to be delivered by Sumdac himself. Isaac drove [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] into the power plant with the other Autobots, allowing them to take on Masterson. While Sumdac tried to shut down the reactor, a stray missile from Masterson destroyed the controls. Fortunately, Bulkhead built a drone that managed to shut down the reactor. {{storylink|Headmaster (episode)|Headmaster}}

{{spoiler|Nature Calls}}
After discovering an energy signature out in the woods near Detroit, he found it was what he had been searching for since he came across Megatron's head: the rest of his body. Sumdac noted that Megatron would be most surprised by the discovery...{{storylink|Nature Calls}}

{{-}}

==Trivia==
* It is probably no coincidence that 'Sumdac' is '[[Wikipedia:Cadmus|Cadmus]]' spelled backwards. His first name is likely a reference to [[Wikipedia:Isaac Asimov|Isaac Asimov]], of ''I, Robot'' (the book, not the movie) fame.
'''Sari Sumdac''', the adopted daughter of robotics genius [[Isaac Sumdac]], doesn't get out much. She spends all her time within her father's laboratories, receiving her education from [[Tutor Bot|robots]]. Despite this, she doesn't seem like a shut-in. She's curious, excitable, adventurous, and knows that crying can sometimes get her what she wants. She just doesn't know what it's like to be around other kids. Fortunately, she has [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] and [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]] to help with that, and she claims that Bee is the best friend she's ever had. In fact, she's become very possessive of all her robotic friends.

The [[Sari Sumdac's key|key]] around her neck has miraculous powers from the [[All Spark (Animated)|All Spark]], but her guardian, the robotic dog [[Sparkplug (Animated)|Sparkplug]], thinks it's just another chew toy.
When her pet robot dog, Sparkplug, stole her security key card, Sari chased it outside and was confronted by [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] and [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]], who spoke to her as if she were Sparkplug's pet. Naturally, she freaked out, but quickly befriended Bumblebee once he saved her from a giant bug that had grown from her father's nanite experiment gone awry. Stowing away on Bumblebee and coming aboard the ''[[Ark (Animated)|Ark]]'', she came across the [[All Spark (Animated)|All Spark]], which infused part of its power into her security key. This allowed her to heal [[Transformer]]s, such as the injured [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]], earning her brownie points with the 'Bots. She also managed to talk the police down from shooting the Autobots, saying they were friendly (except [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]], who was grumpy, but not evil). Sari later helped teach the Autobots about [[Earth]] and [[human]]s.

During the unveiling of her father's new transit system, [[Starscream (Animated)|Starscream]] arrived and attacked. Bumblebee took a shot meant for Sari, allowing Starscream to capture him, Professor Sumdac, the Mayor, and [[Captain Fanzone]]. Sari came up with the idea to distract Starscream while she and Prowl rescued the others (even faking some tears to make it happen). Her key later saved [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]]'s life when she used it to revive his [[spark]]. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}
Sari would go on to be Bumblebee's usual partner in crime, encouraging him to engage in such questionable activities as high-profile wrestling matches {{storylink|Total Meltdown}} and installing rocket boosters to make him go faster. {{storylink|Nanosec (episode)|Nanosec}} Sari likely hangs out with Bumblebee because she knows she can scare the holy be[[primus]] out of him. {{storylink|Along Came a Spider}}

On Sari's birthday, the only other kids who turned up were the children of her dad's employees. None of them really wanted to be there and soon focused their attention on the Autobots. Sari was left alone and shunned along with Bulkhead, both morose that the kids didn't like them. Her father's present, a music robot called [[Soundwave (Animated)|Soundwave]], cheered her up, and she soon began neglecting her friendship with Bulkhead in favour of her new toy. Repeated uses of her All Spark Key turned Soundwave into a malevolent, sentient being who tried to enslave Humanity, and she learnt she'd been wrong to ignore her friend. {{storylink|Sound and Fury}}

When the [[Decepticon]]s [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]] and [[Lugnut]] arrived on Earth, the two Decepticons manhandled the Autobots. Although they survived, it made apparent the fact that more would come looking for the All Spark, so the Autobots decided to repair the ''Ark'' and leave Earth. Sari's reaction to this was displeasure (in the form of a high pitch shout of NO!). However, they needed Sari's key to assist Ratchet in repairing the ship. Sari was unwilling to help them leave, now was she pleased to work with a grouch like Ratchet (who was not that keen on working with a [[protoform]]), but they managed to get her to the ship. While alone with the All Spark, Sari decided to try and sabotage the ship, thereby keeping the Autobots on Earth (and dooming her species to enslavement and/or extinction) but the key repaired the damage. After that, the All Spark showed her an image of [[Megatron (Animated)|a giant Transformer]]. In her panic, Sari opened the air lock, nearly drowning, but Ratchet saved her. Ratchet then explained that they were leaving because they couldn't risk anything happening to Earth, or Sari. Swayed by his compassion, Sari used her key to reactivate the ''Ark''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s decommissioned weapons, reducing Blitzwing and Lugnut to pieces. {{storylink|Lost and Found (Animated episode)|Lost and Found}}

*Sari is the first person to explain human [[reproduction]] to a Transformer (in a whisper). Optimus Prime looked shocked by the explanation.

*Fan reaction to Sari has been mixed{{m-}}some fans hate her, quite a few love her, and some are neutral. Considering the widespread vitriol heaped upon previous child characters in Transformers shows (e.g., [[Kicker]]), that means she's come off reasonably well.

*In contrast, her ''deus ex machina'' All Spark key was initially less popular. However, later episodes in the first season showed it to have potentially disastrous effects when used frivolously (e.g., [[Soundwave (Animated)|Soundwave]]), and hopefully, she will cease using it as the cure for all ills.

*Unused animation from an early version of the series' opening credits showed Sari using a tricycle that transformed into a jetpack. This device hasn't surfaced in the series as of March 2008.

*It should be noted that in "Along Came a Spider", she agreed to stop using the key so much. Yet, she went back on this and started abusing it massively by the next episode, making Soundwave the ''fourth'' crisis the key has caused. Tutor Bot is known to teach [[Sari Sumdac|Sari]] on a regular basis, though by his teaching style it seems that he is designed to be used in a larger classroom environment instead of for solo tutoring. It is unknown whether or not Tutor Bot is yet in widespread use.
Tutor Bot was first seen trying to teach Sari about history. Sari, however, was more interested in getting her [[Sari Sumdac's key|security key]] away from her robot dog [[Sparkplug (Animated)|Sparkplug]]. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}

Several weeks later, Tutor Bot was <strike>boring</strike> trying to teach Sari math lessons when she was to spend the night at the [[Autobot]]s head quarters. Sari decided to use her key to fry Tutor Bots circuits and get out of class early. (Don't pretend you wouldn't have. It just makes you a liar and a hypocrite.) {{storylink|Home Is Where the Spark Is}}

When Sari took the Autobots to [[Dino Drive]], Tutor Bot lectured about dinosaurs, saying they were incredibly dimwitted creatures that would be no match for his [[XL-4 processor]]. Unfortunately, Bulkhead's eagerness to interact with the robotic dinosaurs caused them to crush Tutor Bot. A day later, Tutor Bot was accidentally brought on line and began telling the newly sentient [[Dinobot (Animated)|Dinobot]]s about how [[dinosaur]] fossils gave way to fossil fuels, which [[Grimlock (Animated)|Grimlock]] took to mean that cars ate dinosaurs. With some prompting from [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]], the Dinobots used their [[fire-breath]] to incinerate Tutor Bot. Apparently, the XL-4 processor does not contain any self-preservation sub-routines. {{storylink|Blast from the Past}}

Tutor Bot was controlled on several occasions by [[Soundwave (Animated)|Soundwave]], first by learning some dance moves that did not suck, later by threatening to kill Sari... who responded by apologizing for having placed a "kick me" sign on him, assuming that was what the trouble was about. {{storylink|Sound and Fury}}

When trying to explain creativity to Bulkhead, Tutor Bot showed the massive Autobot various creative works to help him understand. Later, after Bulkhead's body was stolen, Tutor Bot was decapitated, and his body was given to Bulkhead. Apparently, [[Primus|God]] does hate teachers. {{storylink|Headmaster (episode)|Headmaster}}
It does not compute that humans control their robotic helpers, and Soundwave aims to lead the robot proletariat to rise against their fleshling bourgeoisie. The Decepticon cause is logical in Soundwave's optics, and he joined them in the hopes of overthrowing the human/capitalist oppressors. With an army of subservient mechanoids that he can control through powerful signals, that uprising just might be possible.

His arsenal of weapons and gadgets is unusually large, and includes powerful speakers, wiretaps, voice modulators, sonic signals that control lesser robots, and the uncanny ability to assimilate other devices into his body.

Soundwave was a robot originally designed by [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]]. Megatron suggested [[Isaac Sumdac]] give Soundwave to [[Sari Sumdac|his daughter]] as a birthday present... this seemingly kind act, of course, had a sinister ulterior motive. Megatron knew Sari would use her [[All Spark (Animated)|All Spark]]-enhanced [[Sari Sumdac's Key|key]] on Soundwave, which would allow him to upgrade... and ultimately become Megatron's new body. What Megatron didn't count on, though, was that the upgrades would actually make Soundwave self-aware. Additionally, Soundwave concluded that machines should be the masters of the world, and humans would be an ideal slave force. Megatron decided that if Soundwave couldn't be a new body, he would be a new soldier.

He contacted Soundwave and convinced him to join the Decepticons, take control of the machines in [[Detroit]], and steal Sari's key. Soundwave promptly upgraded himself into a transforming body using controlled robots, and began his task. The revolution of the new robot overlords was, however, quickly opposed by the [[Autobot]]s. When Bulkhead came to rescue Sari, Soundwave appealed to Bulkhead to join the revolution, reminding him how Bulkhead had been passed by for Sari's new present. Bulkhead acted as if he was about to kill Sari...then used his wrecking ball to shatter Soundwave. The machines were restored to their normal operational status, and the day was saved.

Unknown to all others, however, Soundwave still functions as a small piece even after Bulkhead pummels him to scrap metal. {{storylink|Sound and Fury}}
Besides that, he's really such a nasty piece of work that it's just easier for him to be a 'Con than not. Driven by the chase, he'll hunt down any prey you like...for a price.

Aside from his fees, Lockdown likes to collect trophies from his Autobot victims, and he has displayed a number of parts that appear to be stolen. (His hook and chainsaw arms appear to be stolen as well, since they don't match his color scheme.) The [[Autobot]]s consider his actions appalling, while [[Lugnut]] considers his mercenary ways an insult to the Decepticon cause, but Megatron doesn't really care. As long as Lockdown gets the job done, Megatron and the Decepticon leadership will give him his upgrades.
[[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]], on the other hand, proved a bigger challenge, but Lockdown came out on top (after having a tire mark smudged on his face). He was about to leave in his ship with his new trophies, when Ratchet, who had been suffering from war flashbacks, came on the scene and soundly thrashed him, partially because the stolen EMP generator didn't work on Ratchet himself. Pinning Lockdown, Ratchet painfully removed both Prime's grapplers and his own EMP generator. Lockdown was forced to watch as Ratchet crippled his ship and escaped with a weakened Optimus. {{storylink|The Thrill of the Hunt}}
And he has a hook, essentially making him the "pirate" to Prowl's "ninja". The hook arm can be removed to reveal a normal arm under it; the hook can be attached to either arm. Due to his lanky build, he comes out a fair bit taller than most of his fellow Deluxe-class toys, able to stand eye-to-eye with even some Voyagers.
It seems the EMP generator can be attached to Ratchet. There is currently much rejoicing.
In Lugnut's optic, bold, heroic Megatron embodies the Decepticon cause, and his devotion is total. It's easy to misinterpret Lugnut’s blind zeal for a lack of overall processing power, but this is not the case. Even if it was, Lugnut would likely not care, for wise Megatron is brilliant enough for a thousand Decepticons.

Renowned throughout Cybertron as one of the most destructive fighters for the Decepticon cause, Lugnut has no time or patience for contemplation or strategy when he could just as easily level an entire Autobot battalion with a single explosive punch. He knows that his unparalleled strength, endurance, and seemingly limitless missile payload is enough to serve glorious, bold, fresh-scented MEGATRON! Autobots that know him know the only way to survive a fight with him is to stay clear of his path.
Doubting that it was near, Starscream insulted Megatron (out of the latter's presence, of course) as a fool who was chasing a ghost. Furious at the "traitor", Lugnut leapt in and roared about how Megatron would lead the Decepticons to a new age. Blackarachnia mocked him, asking if the speech was memorized or just hardwired into his one-track processor. Blitzwing indirectly defended Lugnut by insulting Blackarachnia, but soon burst into song, prompting all the Decepticons to argue until the entry of Megatron silenced them. Later, when it became clear the ''Nemesis'' was going to crash into an exploding space bridge, Lugnut showed uncharacteristic intelligence by fleeing in an escape pod. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}
After arriving on [[Earth]]'s [[Moon (moon)|Moon]], Lugnut and Blitzwing discovered the ''Nemesis'', near where Blitzwing mentioned that [[Lockdown]] had last reported. Heading to Earth, He interrogated a Crane with little success, Lugnut and Blitzwing had a battle with the Autobots. Lugnut managed to knock out the Autobots with his super-powerful punch (which Blitzwing says he told him "a thousand times" to warn him before using), which convinced Megatron that Lugnut could be trusted. He contacted Lugnut only, instructing him to find the [[All Spark (Animated)|All Spark]], which would be able to restore Megatron. Blitzwing thought that Lugnut had finally overheated his motherboard.

Heading for Lake Erie, the two Decepticons tracked down the ''[[Ark (Animated)|Ark]]''. Once they'd followed the Autobots below its surface, Lugnut showed remarkable intelligence by being reluctant to enter the underwater smokescreen [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] had created, although he still entered to follow Blitzwing. Obscured by kicked-up dust, his targeting systems still found a body in the haze. Pleased that his targeting sensors had not failed him, he fired{{m-}}on Blitzwing. The Autobots seemed to have the upper hand when Lugnut again displayed unexpected smarts by transforming and using his jet thrusters to blow away the obscuring dirt. Unfortunately for him and Blitzwing, just as they were going destroy the Autobots, [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]] and [[Sari Sumdac]] brought the ''Ark''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s weapon systems online. The two Decepticons were blasted to the shores of Lake Erie in several pieces, severing Megatron's radio link with Lugnut and thus leaving the poor lunk to believe that his master had forsaken him. The next morning, Starscream appeared and promised to repair them—if they swore loyalty to him. All things considered, Lugnut is ''still'' drifting through the lake in several pieces. {{storylink|Lost and Found (Animated episode)|Lost and Found}}
Pretty much the only thing that keeps him in line is that all three of his personalities are scared to death of [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]].

Blitzwing's cold personality is represented by a long, blue face [[Wikipedia:Hogan's Heroes#Colonel Klink|with a monocle]] and talks with quiet disdain. When Blackarachnia advised him to blow it out his actuator, Blitzwing angrily demanded that she refer to him by his proper name, or else he would...''express his feelings in song!'' His out-of-tune rendition of "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" got all the Decepticons arguing until Megatron entered, prompting Blitzwing to fall silent with the rest.

When it became clear the ''Nemesis'' was going to crash into an exploding space bridge, Blitzwing fled in an escape pod. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}

After Megatron's disappearance, Blitzwing placed a bounty on [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]], intending to punish him for destroying Megatron. Fifty solar cycles later, the bounty hunter [[Lockdown]] contacted Blitzwing, saying he had Prime. Blitzwing promised that Lockdown would receive payment once Blitzwing received Prime—then asked if he could ''please, please please'' see Prime turn into a fire truck. {{storylink|Thrill of the Hunt}}

Blitzwing and [[Lugnut]] followed a beacon to the [[Moon]] to find the wreckage of the ''Nemesis''. The pair of them had similar problems determining the dominant species on Earth as the Autobots did, mistaking Earth's automatons and machines for sentient beings. During an encounter with the Autobots, Megatron opted to radio Lugnut exclusively, leaving Blitzwing struggling to work out what exactly was going on. Blitzwing believed Lugnut was only listening to voices in his head, so Lugnut had to take him along forcibly. Uncertain of the number and strength of the Autobots' "reinforcements" (the Detroit Police Department), the pair scanned Earth vehicles for disguises so they could lay low. Blitzwing's calculating persona wanted to scan a fighter jet, while his aggressive side wanted a tank. After a brief argument, his crazy side won out and scanned both.

The two Decepticons followed the Autobots to [[Lake Erie]], where Blitzwing froze the lake. When the Autobots submerged, he followed them in tank form. Blitzwing was lured by the Autobots towards the ''[[Ark (Animated)|Ark]]'' and blasted by one of its weapons systems. He and Lugnut were left fragmented but functional and floated to the surface, only to be met by [[Starscream (Animated)|Starscream]], who offered to repair them in exchange for a pledge of undying allegiance... {{storylink|Lost and Found (Animated episode)|Lost and Found}}
==Trivia==
* [[Marty Isenberg]] originally envisioned a [[Skyfall (G1)|character who could change into anything]]. When that (obviously) proved unworkable in toy terms, the character of Blitzwing as a triple-changer was suggested for the role. [http://tformers.com/transformers-interview-transformers-animated/8992/news.html]

* His helmet is an obvious nod to a World War II-era German [[wikipedia:Stahlhelm|Stahlhelm]] helmet and goggles. Given the overall design in robot mode, the nature of his personalities and even his name itself, this ''really'' isn't very surprising.

* Blitzwing's face-changing [[gimmick]] was in part inspired by [[Wikipedia:Man-E-Faces|Man-E-Faces]] from ''Masters of the Universe.''<ref>According to [[Hasbro]] employees speaking at the 2007 Comic-Con International.</ref> He's not the first Transformers toy to feature multiple rotating faces; [[Alpha Q]], inspired by the five-faced Generation 1 [[Quintesson]]s, holds that distinction. Whether Blitzwing (or the Quintessons) have any roots in such larger cultural currents as the many three-faced depictions of [http://images.google.com/images?gbv=2&hl=en&safe=off&q=three-faced+buddha the Buddha] and [http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=Trimukha+Ganapati&gbv=2 various gods from the Hindu pantheon] (or at least [[wikipedia:Ashuraman|Japanese cartoon characters from the 80s based on them]]) remains unknown.

* Blitzwing's decision to scan both a tank and a jet in [[Lost and Found]] was an interesting one, possibly implying that Blitzwing wasn't a Triple Changer to begin with, and perhaps that other Animated-era Transformers can take on multiple forms if they just scan other vehicles. He's only a tank when he's in angry mode, and only a jet when in his colder, calculating personality, so if a requirement to being a Triple Changer is having a few bolts loose, maybe that's not a road other Transformers wish to take.
Power-hungry and driven by jealousy, Starscream operates through three ideals: lying, manipulation and deception. And when all else fails, a bit of sabotage never goes astray. [[Megatron (Animated)|Wise bots]] are careful about turning their backs on Starscream, just in case it's the day he finally decides to shove in the knife.

Though not nearly as powerful as Megatron (despite what he thinks of himself), Starcream is by no means a wimp. His [[null-ray]]s can demolish large buildings, and he can fly around so fast that he can break free of [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet's]] magnetic powers.
Like [[Starscream (disambiguation)|others of his kind]], Starscream seeks to betray [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]] and take over leadership of the Decepticons. This time, however, he's not afraid to plant bombs on his mighty leader. In the aftermath of the explosion, Starscream got so caught up in his own greatness that he didn't notice that his comrades abandoned him on a [[Nemesis (Animated)|ship]] hurtling towards an exploding space bridge.

Over the next fifty solar cycles, Starscream searched for the All Spark on his own, using the damaged ship as a base (and probably getting a few screws loose in his [[central processor]]). He later discovered that the [[All Spark (Animated)|All Spark]] was on Earth and adopted a jet fighter as an alternate mode to search for it. When he revealed himself to the Autobots, he quickly thrashed each of them individually. Starscream mocked them, apparently assuming that the Autobots thought ''they'' had really defeated Megatron (whom he referred to as "the great Megatron" without sarcasm, so he seems to have at least a loathing respect for his leader's power). All too boastful of his cunning, Starscream boldly admitted that Megatron was already defeated by the bomb which Starscream himself had put on him. Despite being more powerful than the Autobots, Starscream failed to take the All Spark, partially because he [[Megatron (BW)|spent too much time gloating]]. [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] grabbed Starscream in midair, and they opened the All Spark, releasing a massive wave of energy. Optimus was killed by the energy surge (he got better), but Starscream's fate was unspecified. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}
After Megatron woke up, he found a tape of Starscream's confession and watched it. His reaction was typical: [[The Transformers: The Movie|"STAAAAARSCREEEEAM!"]] {{storylink|Home Is Where the Spark Is}}

It turns out Starscream had been hiding on Earth this whole time, until he decided to reveal himself to a badly damaged Blitzwing and Lugnut, offering them help in exchange for their loyalty.
[[Image:Megatronanimated.jpg|300px|thumb|An insult to [[Megatron (G1)|G1]], we swear!]]

If you were to ask '''Megatron''' to describe himself in one word, he'd probably go with "heroic". He sees himself as a freedom fighter, leading the Decepticons out of the days of [[Autobot]] tyranny. The fact he's hoping to replace that with [[Emperor of Destruction|Decepticon tyranny]] isn't really a concern. A fanatic at heart, he revels in every Autobot who suffers at Decepticon hands and doesn't register humans as anything more then "collateral damage."

Megatron demands loyalty from the Decepticons, loyalty he gains by his awe-inspiring power. With the combined threat of a sharp mind, his [[fusion cannon]], a deadly sword and simple brute strength, there aren't many who'd dare cross him. Still, he has no problem manhandling troops as a gentle reminder.

A loss of a body and his former power is only a minor setback for him, as Megatron is a master manipulator. He's effortlessly got [[Isaac Sumdac]] helping him.

{{ongoing}}
:''Voice actor:'' [[Corey Burton]] (English), [[Jan Spitzer]] (German)

[[Image:Megatron Cybertron.jpg|left|thumb|Pointier than thou.]]

Aboard his [[Nemesis (Animated)|massive flagship]], Megatron went after the ''Ark'' after detecting the [[All Spark (Animated)|All Spark]]. When [[Starscream (Animated)|Starscream]] volunteered to attack, Megs saw right through him, pointing out "I didn't spend the last four million solar cycles combing the galaxy just so you can get your greasy wings on the All Spark." He even crumpled a part of said wings to make his point. Later, Starscream approached the Decepticon leader again, wishing him "luck", to which Megatron replied, "I do not believe in luck." Starscream got his own back by planting a bomb on Megatron, which blew just as his fusion cannon was about to breach the ''Ark'''s hull. The Autobot crew managed to steer the now-failing ship through an asteroid field and into a nearby [[space bridge]].

With the ''Ark'' now plummeting through the Earth's atmosphere, a wounded Megatron still managed to thrash the crew soundly and nearly claimed the All Spark. Quick thinking on the part of [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] sent the Decepticon leader out the cargo hatch and into free fall. Megatron [[Megatron (Movie)|fell from the sky]] and crashed in Paw Paw, Michigan, where his head was found by a young [[Isaac Sumdac]]. Over the next fifty years, Sumdac built a robotics empire by reverse-engineering Megatron's components, [[Sector 7|inspired to do so no doubt]] . {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}

[[Image:Animatedmegatronhead1.jpg|right|thumb|150px|Hey Megatron, don't lose your... oh.]]

Fifty years later, [[Sari Sumdac|Sari]] used her [[Sari Sumdac's key|key]] to sneak into her father's lab. He stopped her from seeing anything it contained, but the All Spark energy from the key was absorbed by Megatron's head, reawakening his spark and bringing him back online. Confused and disoriented, he automatically brought up video footage of Starscream and the Autobots. Furious both at Starscream's betrayal and the fact he didn't have the hands to reach out and take the All Spark which was finally within his grasp, he released a burst of energy which activated a small drone Dr. Sumdac had been working on. Megatron thus realized he could control the extremely primitive (by his standards) technology around him. Learning Sari was going to spend the night at the Autobot base, he sneaked his drone into her backpack.

Once she arrived, Megatron sent the drone to look for the All Spark, but his search was fruitless. He decided to try a simpler method: kill the Autobots and extract the data from their lifeless corpses. Interfacing with the factory's assembly line, he attacked. As the Autobots fought back, he decided to cut out the middleman and knocked a hole in a fuel tank. Prowl arrived, realized the factory was working via motion sensors, and managed to get close to the control panel. To counter him, Megatron simply took over the factory arms and snatched up Prowl. However, he failed to stop Bumblebee, due to the primitive tools he was forced to use. With his plans foiled, Megatron was out of patience, refusing to work through these worthless machines. He needed a body. Perhaps it was time to reveal something more advanced to Sumdac... {{storylink|Home Is Where the Spark Is}}

Megatron soon revealed to Isaac that he still functioned and, when Isaac guessed he was a friend of the Autobots, Megatron played along. He persuaded Isaac to keep his existence secret until Isaac had built him a new body, as then the Autobots would be more forgiving of how Isaac had reverse-engineered their friend. He then helped construct the [[Dinobot (Animated)|Dinobot]]s, deliberately programming them to go on a rampage and building fire-breath into them as a prototype for a planned army of drones. When they were defeated, Megatron despaired he might never gain a new body, but upon discovering they'd been turned into sentient Transformers, he quickly convinced them that cars, trucks and "[[Autobot|car robots]]" were evil beings that ate dinosaurs.

During their second rampage, Isaac realized Megatron had deliberately built weapons into the Dinobots. The tyrant feigned shame, saying he'd added experimental features out of a desire to have a body again. Isaac promised not to tell the Autobots and that Megatron would have a body again one day... {{storylink|Blast from the Past}}

Soon, Dr. Sumdac began attempting to build him some new servos, but these proved inadequate. Megatron revealed that his body would need [[Destronium]] to work, but Isaac responded there was only a small amount available and that it would have to be delivered across town in less then 10 minutes or it would become unstable. Taking notice of an experimental turbo suit Sumdac's labs were developing (with flaws that possibly precluded Isaac considering it as a solution), Megatron manipulated computer systems so the suit was delivered to small-time hood [[Nanosec|Nino Sexton]]. Once Sexton began using the suit to commit crimes too quickly to be stopped, Megatron contacted him with an offer of much money out of Dr. Sumdac's private account if Sexton used the suit to steal and deliver the Destronium. Between Autobot interference and the suit aging him prematurely, Sexton failed. Worse, the Destronium was at critical levels, risking an explosion that would destroy [[Detroit]]. The Autobots barely managed to send the Destronium sample into the upper atmosphere before it exploded, and they were left to wonder why a human had tried to steal it in the first place. {{storylink|Nanosec}}

After Megatron learned of the power of [[Sari Sumdac's key|Sari's key]] and the careless nature in which she used it, he attempted to trick her into assisting him. He designed [[Soundwave (Animated)|Soundwave]], a musical toy that was secretly meant to grow more powerful every time Sari used her key upon it, until eventually it would be a suitable robotic body for Megatron himself. When the Key instead brought Soundwave into independent life, Megatron changed his plan and, with convincing logic, recruited Soundwave as a Decepticon warrior. {{storylink|Sound and Fury}}

When [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]] and [[Lugnut]] arrived on Earth, Megatron, remembering Starscream's betrayal, was hesitant to act. After witnessing a battle between his soldiers and the Autobots, Megatron concluded that Blitzwing was too unstable while Lugnut was genuinely loyal. He contacted Lugnut only, instructing him to locate the All Spark, which would help restore him. Later, he also informed Lugnut about Sari's key. Unfortunately, Lugnut and Blitzwing were defeated and damaged by the Autobots, severing Lugnut's link with Megatron—and Megatron's only link to the outside world. {{storylink|Lost and Found (Animated episode)|Lost and Found}}

[[Image:Sumdac megatron's body.jpg|thumb|200px|left|Yeah, it's a fixer-upper.]]

Although Megatron himself was not mentally involved, his headless body was infected with [[space barnacles]], causing the barnacles to mutate into a semi-sentient form. After absorbing two mining bots and possibly killing a [[Sparkplug Witwicky|familar-looking]] miner, it was defeated by [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] and [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]]. Later, it (minus space barnacles) was discovered by [[Isaac Sumdac]], and most likely brought back to his laboratory. Sumdac was heard to remark that Megatron would be ''very'' pleased... {{storylink|Nature Calls}}
During the Great War, an Autobot [[Arcee (Animated)|intelligence agent]] was in danger of falling into Decepticon hands. Ultra Magnus sent Ratchet to recover her so the access codes she held in her databanks couldn't be used to deal a devastating blow to the Autobots. {{storylink|Thrill of the Hunt}}

Long after the end of the war was over, an Autobot Academy washout named Optimus Prime attempted to contact Magnus to report that 1) he and his maintenance ship crew had discovered the legendary [[All Spark (Animated)|All Spark]], and 2) they were now being pursued by Decepticons. Though nearly denied by [[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|Sentinel Prime]], Optimus Prime got patched through to Ultra Magnus to report on the discovery. Magnus still didn't believe the Decepticons would pose much of a threat, but agreed to dispatch some ships to escort Prime's ship, the ''Ark''. He warned Prime not to pull any heroics, as it wasn't in Prime's programming. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}

This, of course, all will all go out the window once it's discovered that the Decepticons in pursuit were in [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]]'s flagship, at which point he'll decide to deal with it.
'''Grimlock''' is a ''Tyrannosaurus rex'' in charge of a small, three-mech group of dinosaur transformers known as the [[Dinobot (Animated)|Dinobots]]. Born from a fusion of Earth and Cybertronian technology, with some All Spark intervention thrown in, he's a force to be reckoned with. A little short on brains (at first he didn't actually realise he was a Transformer) and a lot short on temper, Grimlock's answer to a problem is usually the simplest: squash it, slash it, bite it, burn it, or eat it.

Due to his rather unique birth, Grimlock has a slow but endearing speech pattern, which can easily make you forget he's Godzilla with style. And weapons.

Currently, Grimlock and his fellow Dinobots are living on an island in Lake Erie, hidden there by Prowl and Bulkhead from the rest of the world, human and Transformer alike. This looks like its just a stop gap however, as Grimlock's discovery of his status as a Transformer means he isn't going to be happy on his little rock. After all, him Grimlock badass.
When they came online, Grimlock dubbed himself the Dinobot leader, despite Megatron's commands. However, [[Tutor Bot]] brought up videos on how cars use fossil fuels. Grimlock believed this to mean that cars ate [[Dinosaur]]s, and Megatron convinced them to destroy the "fossil feeders", including the only thing worse than cars...cars and trucks that turn into robots.
As the Dinobots raged against the machines, the Autobots drew them away from the city towards a park. Finally getting out of his funk, [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]] managed to throw them into a parking lot that their fire breath had melted into tar, trapping the Dinobots. After their defeat, they were imprisoned in an energy cage and were scheduled for meltdown. Believing they had life and were not just some mindless machines, [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]] freed the Dinobots with the help of Bulkhead and secretly relocated them to an island.

Dwelling within the peaceful forest, Grimlock dubbed cars and trucks bad, but nature good—until two birds pooped on him.
'''Blackarachnia''' hates her techno-organic beast mode with a passion. Once she was an [[Autobot Academy]] cadet, but when she was abandoned on an alien world by her [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|former]] [[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|teammates]], she was forced to adapt to the monstrous organic lifeforms that inhabited the world. Now she is trapped between organic and machine, unable to take a new form. The experience fueled a newfound hatred of the [[Autobot]]s and a quest for revenge that led her to join [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]] in his war against them, but she doesn't appear to hold any real loyalty toward him. Her hatred of her organic body is driving her insane, and she will do ''anything'' to get rid of it, no matter whom she has to crush in her path.

By stabbing other mechanoids with the spider legs projecting over her shoulders, she has the unique ability to download and mimic their traits and weaponry for a limited amount of time. Hope nobody told [[Lockdown]].

Blackarachnia acts differently around robots of the "opposite sex" depending on faction; she's bitting and sarcastic towards the Decepticons, but seductive and manipulative towards the Autobots. However, these appear to be but shells worn by a being who desperately wants to be normal again.

[[Image:Elita-1-001.jpg|left|100px|thumb|Optimus, Optimus. Wherefore art thou Optimus?]]
Blackarachnia was previously known as '''Elita-1'''. A thousand [[Units of time|stellar cycles]] ago Elita and her teammates, [[Optimus Prime (Animated)| Optimus Prime]] and [[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|Sentinel Prime]], were exploring an alien world, looking for a Decepticon ship filled with [[energon]]. They accidentally fell into a series of caves. They were ambushed by giant spiders and, when escaping the massive energon explosion caused by the battle, Elita ended up being left behind. When she tried using her ability to borrow powers from other beings, she was injected by the spiders' venom, turning her into the hideous freak she is now. Because of her new, semi-organic nature, her signal did not appear on Optimus's radar, leading him and Sentinel to believe that she had perished in the explosion. {{storylink|Along Came a Spider}}

When the All Spark was found by a group of Autobots, Blackarachnia was aboard the [[Nemesis (Animated)|''Nemesis'']] with the other Decepticons, annoyed at [[Lugnut]]'s emphatic, vocal loyalty to Megatron. She even suggested that Lugnut's speech of praise was hardwired into his mind. She also had conflict with Blitzwing, who touched a sore point by insulting her organic mode. Her retort to "blow it out your actuator, three-face" angered Blitzwing to the point that he...began to express his feelings in song. Later, at Megatron's orders, she scanned the Autobots' ship to determine the nature of their high-energy cargo. She confirmed the Autobots were carrying the All Spark, or at least something just as powerful. When the Autobots escaped and it became clear the ''Nemesis'' was going to crash into an exploding space bridge, Blackarachnia fled in an escape pod. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}

[[Image:Blackarach anim beast.jpg|right|thumb|200px|The Itsy Bitchy Spider crawled up the water spout...]]

Later, she stalked [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]], [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]], and [[Sari]] on Halloween night. After she took out Bumblebee and Bulkhead, she started lying to Sari, who, even after her encounter with [[Starscream (Animated)| Starscream]], still couldn't recognize a Decepticon. Fortunately, Optimus came along, but Blackarachnia kidnapped Sari and started web-swinging.

After she got to the top of a skyscraper, Prime tried to fight her, only to realize at last who she was. Blackarachnia tried to use Sari's All Spark key to become fully mechanical. However, the energies unleashed caused any organic life in range, including Sari (and presumably any other [[Human|fleshy]]) to shrivel and sicken. It almost killed Blackarachnia, but Optimus Prime pulled the key out, restoring the organics. Prime tried to reason with "Elita", asking her to come with them in the hopes of curing her, but Blackarachnia stabbed him, saying that it would be a long time before she trusted him again. After she knocked out Prime, she cried her four eyes out. {{storylink|Along Came a Spider}}
Some people are team players, and some...well, aren't. '''Prowl''' falls into the latter category. A loner at heart, he has little interest in teamwork, something [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] finds extremely frustrating.

Prowl is an adept and agile one-on-one fighter who strikes swiftly and unseen with throwing stars and swords, and he feels cooperation with the [[Bumblebee (Animated)|loud]] and [[Bulkhead (Animated)|unsubtle]] Autobots around him would cramp his style. He uses an array of throwing weapons, such as cutting discs, that he can throw with high accuracy. While useful as thrown projectiles, these weapons tend to be far more damaging at close range and will occasionally bounce off their target with little damage if thrown from too great a distance. He's the only [[Sideswipe (G1)|Autobot with a jetpack]], granting him limited flight. Despite Prowl's battle prowess, this unwillingness to work with his teammates causes problems.

Still, he's not without his redeeming features. He has a deep, deep fascination with organic lifeforms. His quarters on [[Earth]] is missing most of its ceiling, allowing him a permanent window into nature. In fact, he seems to have a deeper appreciation of his new surroundings than the [[human]]s who grew up with them. The phrase "stop and smell the roses" is a life truth for Prowl, and he can spend hours motionless, [[Beachcomber (G1)|watching the world play out around him]].

Interestingly, he is drawn considerably larger, or at least taller, than Bumblebee, [[Size changing|despite the fact that his vehicle mode is much smaller]].

Prowl showed a lack of interest in both teamwork (as a loner type) and in the motivational (kinda long-winded) speeches of [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]]. He did not obey orders at first and learned of the consequences firsthand as he was nearly killed by a nanite-enhanced cockroach. After his revival at the hands of [[Sari Sumdac|Sari]] and her [[All Spark (Animated)|All Spark-]]empowered [[Sari Sumdac's key|key]], he showed that he had become a valuable team player when he headed out with Bumblebee and Sari to save [[Isaac Sumdac|Professor Sumdac]] and [[Captain Fanzone]] from [[Starscream (Animated)|Starscream]]. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}

Later, Prowl was watching a cat stalk a bird. He found it fascinating, but was aggravated when he was interrupted by human fans. Returning to base, he hid out in his Japanese-themed room, only to be interrupted by Prime and Bumblebee. Even worse, Sari threw a slumber party, pushing Prowl to the edge by the commotion. Ironically, when [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]] took over the factory, Prowl was able to show Bumblebee the value of stillness in battle, something the pair would work on later in a game of Twister™. {{storylink|Home Is Where the Spark Is}}

In an attempt to get [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]] to be less bumbling and destructive, he tried to teach his comrade how to move with ninja-like grace as he did. It...did not go well. Bulkhead's effectiveness in battle was undermined until Prowl realized Bulkhead's approach had its place and encouraged him to "do what you do." He also sensed [[spark]]s within the [[Dinobots (Animated)|Dinobots]] and, unwilling to let them be destroyed, secretly hid them on a small island before they were melted down. As he explained to Bulkhead, "Just because something's big and lumbering and destructive, doesn't mean you give up on it." {{storylink|Blast from the Past}}

Reasoning correctly that the Decepticons would target Sari to get at her All Spark-empowered key, Prowl took to instructing her in the art of "ninja nerve blows." It was shortly after one of these sessions that his decision to save the Dinobots seemingly came back to haunt him when the gargantuan robots kidnapped the girl. He headed to their island home with Bulkhead in tow, the suspicious [[Captain Fanzone]] shadowing them somewhat clumsily the whole way. However the police captain was not prepared for the environmental hazards of the secluded island and had to be rescued by the pair of Autobots. Together, the three of them discovered that the Dinobots had been coerced into kidnapping Sari by [[Prometheus Black]], whose corrosive touch they had come to fear. Forced along with Fanzone to fight the mad geneticist's creations in a gladiatorial arena, Prowl began to develop a bond with the captain, who in turn came to trust Prowl. {{storylink|Survival of the Fittest}}

'''Bulkhead''' is your typical big bruiser, built like a brick wall, but with a heart of gold. He's gentle by nature and is very curious about humans, especially since they give him an opportunity to explore his artistic side. It's a pity that he's a bit of a lummox...okay, he's a ''lot'' of a lummox. He's like a St. Bernard, a gentle giant who has no idea how strong he is and therefore has a tendency to flatten you when he just wants to show his affectionate side. You'll always be glad you spent time with Bulkhead... just make sure you put any breakables away beforehand.

Physically, Bulkhead is easily the strongest of the Autobots, with his power often used to wield the tethered wrecking ball he can switch out for his right fist. He may not be as strong or well armed as the Decepticon bruiser [[Lugnut]], but he's definitely smarter.

While repairing a space bridge with his unit, Bulkhead and his pal [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] discovered the long lost [[All Spark (Animated)|All Spark]]. However, the [[Decepticon]]s soon arrived, prompting Bulkhead to mention that he had never seen a Decepticon ship up close. (No one had and lived, as [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]] pointed out.) Bulkhead did his best to hang on while the Autobots drove their ship through the space bridge. Coming out of warp, they went headlong toward [[Earth]], and he joined his fellow 'bots in heading into stasis to avoid the impact shock of an unpleasant landing.

After emerging from stasis, Bulkhead accompanied the other Autobots to investigate a large, cybernetic creature that was menacing the local lifeforms (which they assumed were robots like themselves). Bulkhead requested help from a group of local drones, then noticed [[Sari Sumdac]] trying to take her keycard away from her robot dog, [[Sparkplug (Animated)|Sparkplug]]. Assuming Sari was the pet, Bulkhead greeted her{{m-}}which promptly sent her running and screaming. Way to make first contact there, big guy.

After [[Starscream (Animated)|Starscream]] arrived to take the All Spark, the Autobots engaged him in fierce game of "Keep-away". At one point, Bulkhead tried to catch the All Spark, shouting "I got it." Starscream snagged the All Spark instead, but Bulkhead knocked the [[Seeker|Decepticon flier]] out of the air with his wrecking ball, causing him to drop the All Spark. It's not nice to contradict Bulkhead. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out}}

Later, in Autobot HQ, he said he had some problems, because all humans want from him is to break stuff. After all, he had his sensitive side as well (even if breaking stuff was fun). When Megatron attacked the Autobots' base, Bulkhead got in touch with his inner breaker, confirming that smashing stuff IS fun! Megatron had different plans for him, though, and Bulkhead discovered it's not as much fun to BE smashed. After Bulkhead was saved, he tried to catch a [[Pocketbot|tiny machine]] that looked like it might be the culprit. Prime hoped to study it and find out where it came from, but Bulkhead smashed the little critter to pieces when he grabbed it. {{storylink|Home Is Where the Spark Is}}

After that [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]] tried to train Bulkhead to be more subtle[[Image:Tfalost&foundbulkheadhocky.gif|right|thumb|200px|"I love the Red Wings!"]] in his actions, to assess a situation, choose the right move, then execute it with grace and precision. This didn't meet with any real success, as Bulkhead's antics damaged the base and caused him to fall on Prowl. Moving to an island in Lake Erie, Bulkhead tried again. He knocked down some trees which fell on Prowl. Things actually got worse when Bulkhead tried to use Prowl's methods against the [[Dinobots (Animated)|Dinobots]], a trio of animatronics run amok. Prowl wisely advised Bulkhead to stop doing what Prowl would do and instead do what Bulkhead himself would do. Bulkhead quickly discovered that his blunt, powerhouse approach had its place and time for proper use, charging and knocking down [[Snarl (Animated)|Snarl]], hitting [[Swoop (Animated)|Swoop]] out of the air, and throwing [[Grimlock (Animated)|Grimlock]] into a pit of molten tar. Afterward, the Dinobots were due to be melted down. However, Prowl suspected the Dinobots were actually alive, not mere machines, so he enlisted Bulkhead's help in secretly transporting them from their prison to the deserted island on Lake Erie. There they could live undisturbed and perhaps get themselves under control. Prowl had realized that just because something was big and lumbering and destructive was no reason to give up on it, and Bulkhead knew just what he meant. {{storylink|Blast from the Past}}

On a shopping trip for Sari's birthday present, Bulkhead worked with Sari to rein in the pesky [[Professor Princess]]. The next day, Sari's birthday party began poorly, as the guests were all children of Sumdac Industries employees, who found Sari too weird for their tastes. The Autobots' arrival made things a little more interesting, but klutzy Bulkhead soon found himself ignored, alongside Sari, as the kids went for rides with the other Autobots (even Ratchet). Bulkhead wanted to give Sari her gift, a xylophone, but too embarrassed to do so when he saw Dr. Sumdac's gift, a musical robot named [[Soundwave (Animated)|Soundwave]]. For the next several days, Sari's attention was drawn away from her friend as she spent her free time plugging her key into the toy to upgrade it. Bulkhead realized that there was something off about Soundwave, but his attempts to prove it just forced a wedge between Sari and himself. Megatron's machinations to increase the split between them didn't help. It turned out the big guy was right on the money, however, as Soundwave was a creation of Megatron's that gained sentience through the key. Soundwave took control of the machines of Detroit and captured Sari. When Bulkhead came to her rescue, Soundwave attempted to convince Bulkhead of the inferiority of humans. For a few minutes, it seemed Bulkhead was on his side, but with a wink to Sari, he punched Soundwave so hard that the Decepticon shattered into his component parts. Sari apologized, and the pair played with Bulkhead's gift, albeit after Sari nearly broke her hand punching Bulkhead's fist. {{storylink|Sound and Fury}}

After destroying a good portion of a city block trying to stop a missile impact, Sari suggested to Bulkhead that he explore his more creative talents to show the citizens of Detroit that he wasn't [[Sixshot|an engine of destruction]]. Bulkhead had difficulty making his creations (his paint brushes kept snapping between his fingers) and panicked when he learned that Sari had arranged an art show for him. (Girl has connections.) While lamenting his lot in life, he was knocked out cold by a sudden electrical surge. When he came back online, he found that his body had been stolen. As Bumblebee attempted to help him finish his art pieces in time for the show, the [[Headmaster (Animated)|Headmaster]] used Bulkhead's body to take control of a solar fusion plant, intending to detonate it unless he was paid a hefty ransom. Optimus used the ransom delivery to sneak the Autobots into the plant, where they defeated the Headmaster and reattached Bulkhead to his body...backwards. As the reactor reached critical, Bulkhead came up with a drone that would set the rods back, but the drone melted in the process. Not to be daunted, Bulkhead added it to his art collection, showing the citizens of Detroit his [[Slog|warzone art]] without them even knowing it. {{storylink|Headmaster (episode)|Headmaster}}
Ratchet suffered constant flashbacks of a mission during the war in which he was sent by [[Ultra Magnus (Animated)|Ultra Magnus]] to recover Autobot intelligence officer [[Arcee (Animated)|Arcee]], who was carrying important security codes in her memory. Shortly after finding her, the pair were captured by the Decepticon-affiliated bounty hunter [[Lockdown]]. The hunter made a habit of collecting the powers of defeated enemies as trophies and did so with Ratchet's medical EMP device. Before he could attach it, Arcee was able to pass the device to Ratchet and begged him to use it on herself to wipe the codes and preserve their safety. In the ensuing skirmish with Lockdown, the device accidentally produced a wider blast, erasing Arcee's entire memory.

In the present, Lockdown captured Optimus Prime and intended to hand him over to the vengeful remaining Decepticons for the bounty offered against him. He was forced to intervene after Lockdown eliminated [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]], [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] and [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]]. :''Bumblebee is an [[Autobot]] from the [[Transformers Animated]] [[continuity family]].''
'''Bumblebee''' the youngest, yellowest, and most energetic of the Autobots...[[Bumblebee (G1)|as]] [[Bumblebee (Movie)|usual]]. A hyperactive wisecracker, Bumblebee is quite convinced he's the fastest{{m-}}and coolest{{m-}}thing on four wheels. He has a tendency to bite off more then he can chew, so it's a good thing he pals around with the massive [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]]. He does ''not'' take well to being called "short", and his over-eager ways can get on [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet's]] nerves all too easily. Still, Bumblebee is good people, as evidenced by his fast friendship with [[Sari Sumdac]].

Bumblebee can save [[Sari Sumdac|a little girl]] from a rampaging slug creature and retain his cheerfulness and good humor while doing so. He also calls [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus]] [[Optimus Primal|"Big Bot"]]... sounds [[Cheetor|familiar.]]

His hands can transform intro electronic welders, which he can use to shoot electric jolts. Also, he has a [[Bumblebee (G1)|strangely familiar]] [[faceplate]]—probably also for welding. Despite the fact that he maintains that he's a repair-bot and not programmed for combat, he's quite useful in battle.

Bumblebee is a member of Optimus Prime's repair crew, assigned to perform maintenance on malfunctioning [[space bridge]]s. He proved agile enough to help his stronger (but much larger) teammate, [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]], who had managed to lodge a wrecking ball in an asteroid. Even though he expressed significant fear of [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]], he still managed to crack wise at the [[Decepticon leader]]'s appearance once they were face-to-face. The humor vanished when Megs pulled out his sword. After Megatron was thrown off the ship, Bumblebee entered stasis with the rest of the crew just before the ''Ark'' crash-landed on [[Earth]].

Upon awakening the crew to alert them to the intrusion of a nanite-powered bug-slug, the ship's computer scanned vehicle modes to disguise them. Bumblebee got reformatted into [[Captain Fanzone]]'s car. Lucky him.

Upon noticing [[Sari Sumdac|"a little creature"]] struggling with her [[Sparkplug (Animated)|"owner"]], 'Bee and Mr. Bulk showed their unfamiliarity with organic life by assuming the owner/pet relationship was reversed. Their speculation was interrupted by the attacks of the giant, nanite-fueled bug monster, and Bumblebee intervened to get Sari out of the way. Later in the battle, Bumblebee was called on to deliver the override command to the beast's nanites, as he was the fastest and most nimble of the crew.

His defeat of the monster seriously impressed Sari, who decided to befriend him. Sari's definition of befriending included cajoling him into sneaking her aboard the ''Ark''. Of course, Sari wouldn't stay still as Bumblebee asked, compelling him to jettison her into a ventilation shaft. After introducing her to the group, Sari and 'Bee became fast friends. When [[Starscream (Animated)|Starscream]] attacked Detroit, Bumblebee took a shot intended for Sari, allowing Screamer to capture Bumblebee, [[Isaac Sumdac]], [[Captain Fanzone]], and the Mayor. Sari, with Prowl's help, managed to rescue them. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}

At one point, Bumblebee took part in a match against [[Colossus Rhodes|Cyrus "Colossus" Rhodes]]. Unfortunately, Cyrus [[Wikipedia:Hulk (comics)|hulked up]], then proceeded to beat the [[slag (slang)|slag]] out of Bumblebee. The other Autobots were forced to rescue him, using it as a chance to riff on his small stature. However, only Bumblebee was able to get into [[Sumdac Tower]] when [[Prometheus Black|Meltdown]] went to kill Isaac Sumdac. Bumblebee managed to get him to the ground floor, but Meltdown arrived. Bulkhead tried to stop him, but Meltdown threw a glob of acid at Bulkhead, which Bumblebee took instead (basically, 'Bee is a human shield). Bulkhead offered his apologies over his comments, saying he was only having a little fun—which sent Bumblebee into declaring his good moves and speed. He's going to be pretty impossible to live with for a while. {{storylink|Total Meltdown}}

After showing a lack of ability to be subtle on Earth, Prime had Prowl try to teach Bumblebee how to blend in. This ruined some plans with Sari, as she wanted to attach some turbo-boosters to him to make him go even faster. During the exercise, they encountered [[Nanosec]], a crook that had gained Professor Sumdac's new speed suit via [[Megatron (Animated)|unknown patrons]]. Unable to keep up with Nanosec, Bumblebee was convinced by Sari attach the turbo-boosters against Prime's orders. Unfortunately, he couldn't control them in vehicle mode, allowing Nanosec to escape from the Autobots twice. Worse, he was carrying enough [[Destronium]] to destroy all of Detroit. Overhearing Bulkhead and Prowl's comments on his change of appearance, Bumblebee realized that the suit was causing him to age the more he used it, so he purposefully ran him into old age (cold, Bee). With the Destronium about to go critical, Bumblebee, with help from Prowl and Bulkhead, managed to use his turbo-boosters to head into the outer atmosphere and get the Destronium away from the city before detonating. The whole experience seems have given Bumblebee a bit more respect for subtlety. {{storylink|Nanosec (episode)|Nanosec}}
: Bumblebee will be yellow, look a bit like the little car from ''Lupin the Third'' (and a little like a VW Bug with a Chevy Camaro's headlight design), and have these cute little rocket booster pods that can go on either side. It seriously looks to be the cutest Transformer ever (right up there with [[Moon (BWII)|Moon]]). '''Optimus Prime''' is a relatively naive and idealistic young leader, prone to long-winded "inspirational" speeches, who leads a small and inexperienced Autobot [[space bridge]] maintenance team under the supervision of [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]]. Despite his humble "Bot Next Door" persona, he performs his job with a dedicated seriousness. He transforms into a fire engine and wields a kick-ass, rocket-powered, extendable battle axe, as well as wrist-mounted grappler cables.

[[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|Sentinel Prime]] sneers at Optimus's lowly repair job. More than anything, Prime wishes to be a hero. He's got the speeches, he's got the moves...but what is he missing?
On a mission, Optimus and [[Blackarachnia (Animated)|Elita 1]] accompanied [[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|Sentinel Prime]] to a forbidden organic planet in search of a lost [[Decepticon]] ship rumored to be rich in [[Energon]]. After finding the planet to be infested with giant spiders, the trio finally decided to leave, but their retreat was not easy. Though Optimus and Elita found the Decepticon ship and its coveted [[energon cube]]s, they were forced to escape when spiders surrounded them. However, Elita was left behind, presumed destroyed in an energon explosion. Sentinel Prime was furious and blamed Optimus for her death. {{storylink|Along Came a Spider}}

Some time after this dark moment, Prime either abandoned or flunked the [[Autobot Academy]] and eventually found himself leading a small space bridge repair crew a thousand stellar cycles later. Prime and his crew came across the [[All Spark (Animated)|All Spark]] while repairing a [[Space Bridge]] and brought the artifact aboard their ship. During transport, they were discovered by the [[Decepticons]], and [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]] came after them. He proved too strong to take head on (in spite of [[Starscream (Animated)|his subordinate]] planting a bomb on his chassis), but when the Autobot ship neared [[Earth]], Prime knocked Megatron overboard. The Autobots stayed in stasis for the next 50 years until they were accidentally awakened by an apparent intruder. Optimus and the Autobots took on Earth vehicles as alternate modes in an attempt to assimilate with what they believed to be the local dominant culture. Prime and his team were able to dispatch a bio-mechanical insectoid that was attacking Detroit. They were hailed as heroes for it.

[[Image:Sariprime.jpg|right|thumb|120px|Sorry, Prime, this is just another one of those things you were never meant to know...]]
Over the next several weeks, the Autobots got to learn human culture and and customs, doing their best to prevent disasters and save lives. Eventually, Starscream came for the All Spark, and Optimus found that the schemer could pack quite a punch. The Autobot officer was still able to keep Starscream from getting the artifact, though at the cost of his life. However, he was quickly revived by [[Sari Sumdac]] and her All Spark-influenced key. Later, the Autobots helped rebuild parts of Detroit that were destroyed in their battle with Starscream. {{storylink|Transform and Roll Out!}}

Unfortunately for Optimus, he had gained a reputation outside of Earth's atmosphere—not as a hero, but as the slayer of Megatron. The Decepticon [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]] placed a large bounty on his head, and pretty soon, [[Lockdown]] came to collect. He captured Prime and stole his axe and grapplers. Fortunately, Ratchet saved him, finally getting the old bot to open up more. {{storylink|The Thrill of the Hunt}}

During the Autobots' first [[Halloween]] on Earth, the Decepticon [[Blackarachnia (Animated)|Blackarachnia]] showed up and kidnapped Sari. When Optimus Prime tried to fight her, she dodged all his moves, as she had trained with him. Prime was shocked to learn that Blackarachnia was his old Autobot Academy classmate Elita-1, who hadn't died but been mutated while fighting off the giant arachnids those many years ago. Blackarachnia tried to use Sari's All Spark key to remove the organic aspects from her biology, but the key began to drain the life from everything organic around and nearly killed Blackarachnia herself. Prime removed the key, saving Blackarachnia and the organics. Still calling her Elita, Prime tried to convince her to return to the Autobots so they could try and help her. She repaid that kindness by injecting him with venom and telling him that she would never trust him again. Prime was left to reflect on the friend he'd failed not once, but twice. {{storylink|Along Came a Spider}}

:Based on his pre-Earth Cybertronian look, the first version of ''Animated'' Optimus Prime transforms into a half-track Cybertronic truck loosely based on the Mitsubishi Fuso Hybrid concept truck. As a half-track, instead of rear wheels, he has molded, caterpillar-linked tracks with smaller wheels inside for rolling along smooth surfaces. Prime's axe weapon is stored by partially folding the axe at the grey hinge near the handle peg, then placing the handle peg in a hole on the back of the cab (actually his two fists' holes, thus helping them holding in position) with the blade facing down and a grey peg facing up, acting as a "fifth wheel" (known as a trailer hitch among fans), should one find a suitable trailer to attach onto it.

:He has a superb range of articulation, as is the standard with ''Animated'' toys, due to the extensive use of ball joints and universal hinge joints. As stated above, the hitch assembly becomes his axe, which can be wielded with one blade (for the rocket-boosted look) or have the single blade split to form a double-bladed axe. The truck roof is mounted on his left arm as a shield or can be separated in two and be attached to the axe to become giant energon blades.
