No Decepticon leader wants '''Fangry''' under his command. The rebellious, foul-mouthed Fangry explodes violently against any being who dares give him an order. He has attacked almost as many unfortunate Decepticons as he has their actual enemies, the Autobots. A Decepticon with a healthy sense of self-preservation will give Fangry orders in the form of mild suggestions or reverse psychology.

Fangry has complete faith in only his judgment and his alone. Unwilling to listen to advice, his tactics are notoriously flawed. Furthermore, he's likely to be abandoned on the battlefield when in trouble. The mere act of coming to his rescue implies he needs help at all -- and, well, you know how he reacts to that idea.

Fangry and his partner Brisko oversaw part of the Z Foundation's attempt at recruiting humans to take down the Autobots for them. Their pawns, the [[Roadjammer]]s, ended up overstepping their boundaries and came after the Decepticons as well as the Autobots, and so the project was scrapped. {{Storylink|Ca$h and Car-Nage!}}

When [[Bludgeon (G1)|Bludgeon]] assumed command of the Decepticons after the war with Unicron, Fangry was quick to assert his independence, especially given his unease with the Autobot/Decepticon alliance that had tenuously been forged in the aftermath. To be honest, Autobot commander [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]] didn't make things any easier by throwing cups of oil at Fangry's head to shut him up (and what was Grimlock ''doing'' with a cup anyway? He has no mouth!). Fangry tried to jump Grimlock later that night, but bit off more than he could chew since Grimmie had just received his spiffy new [[Actionmaster]] upgrade. His public humiliation did serve a purpose, however, as it gave Bludgeon a rallying point to ensure his fellow Decepticons were willing to end the alliance abruptly, and leave the Autobots stranded on Cybertron. Fangry accompanied Bludgeon and the Decepticons to the massacre on planet [[Klo]], and after the Autobots arrived and were successfully ambushed, Fangry served as lead tracker hunting the remaining five Autobots. In the course of the operation he brandishes a pair of guns, though never atcually attacks anything with them, and transforms all of once. While he presumably survives [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]]'s return and Bludgeon's resulting... er, "retirement", he is not actually seen afterward. Most likely, he's trying to collect those five triliters of Energon resin he owes Starscream because of a bet they made about the Bldugeon-Megatron battle's outcome.

At this point, Octopunch's comrade Bludgeon assumed command of the Decepticons, and arranged to leave the Autobots stranded on the dying planet of Cybertron while he and the Decepticons began conquering anew. They basically levelled the planet [[Klo]] before the Autobots managed to catch a ride and track them down. Wiping out nearly all the Autobots in the battle that followed, Octopunch led a squad consisting of [[Quake]], [[Fangry]] and [[Weirdwolf]] to pick off the stragglers. Grimlock and his surviving warriors fought back though and, with the arrival of [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] and the [[Last Autobot]], the fight turned against the Decepticons, and Bludgeon and his crew were forced to slink away. {{Storylink|End of the Road! No one knows the dead quite as well as the Decepticon hypnotist, '''Mindwipe'''. A mysterious and mystical one, Mindwipe claims to have the powers to commune with [[Transformer]]s who have long since left this plane of existence. From Black Sabbaths to seances to super-conductive antennaes, Mindwipe knows of many methods to reach those who now rest in peace.

Well...not really. He desperately ''wants'' to speak with the departed [[spark]]s of dead Decepticons, but all his labors to create antennae and receivers for the departed have had..."limited" success. In reality, all he's picking up are radio broadcasts of old [[Earth]] sitcoms, which he's actually become quite fond of. Still, some day, Mindwipe hopes to finally bridge the gap between the realm of the living and the [[Allspark|realm of the dead]].

Despite those shortcomings, Mindwipe is a formidable opponent, able to hypnotize and control both organic and mechanical lifeforms just by making eye contact, and with an eerie and potent precognitive "sixth sense." He is [[Binary-bonding|binary-bonded]] to the [[Nebulan]] [[Vorath]].

Mindwipe, called Wipe in Headmasters, is one of the most frequently appearing Decepticons in the series. Him and his two Headmaster partners, Wolf (Weirdwolf) and Skull (Skullcruncher) originate from Planet Master, where they were smaller robots. They later built themselves larger bodies they can connect to, and joined the Decepticons. Though seemingly serving Galvatron, in truth they were agents of Zarak. Mindwipe and his friends were responsible in blowing up Cybertron along with Vector Sigma and Galvatron.

Orginially a major threat to the Autobots, the Decepticon Headmaster later in the series became little more the minor annoyances, easily defeated. Unlike in the comics, Mindwipe couldn't hypnotise others - his power was to emit sound waves in bat mode that could put other Transformers to sleep, an attack he used often.

During the [[Dark Ages]], when [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] and [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] were believed to have been killed in a [[space bridge]] test, Mindwipe was part of the [[Chaos Trinity]] that attempted to use dark science to manipulate events to their favor. When the [[Fallen]] arrived and offered them dark powers in exchange for their services, they agreed. The three managed to iniate a serious surge in factional engagements, in an attempt to isolate the [[Angles of Dissolution]] that the Fallen needed. During their attempt to secure [[Jetfire (G1)|Jetfire]], Mindwipe managed to put the [[Autobot]] scientist into a trance, while [[Bludgeon (G1)|Bludgeon]] and [[Bugly]] put [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]] out of commission. When [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]], another target, surprised them, Mindwipe was confidant he could do the same to Grimlock.

He got thrown into a wall for his troubles. The Fallen had to pull their [[exhaust port]]s out of the fire.

When they went to secure [[Hot Spot (G1)|Hot Spot]], Mindwipe turned several of them against their teammates. However, Shockwave tracked them down, bringing [[Soundwave (G1)|Soundwave]], [[Ravage]], the [[Insecticon (G1)|Insecticon]]s, the [[Seeker]]s, and [[Trypticon]] as well. '''Bugly''' functions only to control and dominate others. As a strategist, he relishes in giving orders and commanding his fellow Decepticons to carry out his bidding. He is also one of the few known modern practitioners of [[Circuit Su]], which teaches martial artists of the [[Allspark]] that connects all energy in Transformer life-sparks, and how to tap into that energy. Bugly believes in the conservation of energy principle -- by drawing greater amounts of power from his spark through discipline, he thinks that this is limiting the amount of energy available for all other Cybertronians. This is the ultimate form of domination for Bugly, and he works tirelessly to cultivate his mental abilities at the expense of others.

After commandeering a genetics research lab on Earth, [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]] was able to recreate and perfect the science of Pretender shells using synthoplasmic chambers constructed by him and [[Vorath]]. Bugly was one of six Decepticon volunteers transformed by the process into new Pretenders. {{Storylink|Pretender to the Throne!}}

When Scorponok's Decepticons were forced into combat with [[Ratbat]]'s crew, Bugly found himself facing off against [[Skywarp (G1)|Skywarp]]. The teleporting [[Seeker]] proved a difficult target until Bugly concentrated on predicting the pattern of his "jumps", and caught Skywarp with a blast of photon fire while he was re-materializing. {{Storylink|Cold War!}}

Later, Bugly got the job (along with Bomb-Burst) to fly Iguanus away from a skyscraper, in an cliche plot by Scorponok to gain energy by channeling lightning. The Micromaster Off-Road patrol foiled the plan and Iguanus was toasted, so Bugly let him plummet to his doom and fled. {{Storylink|King Con!}}

Bugly was seen again as a background character throughout the Decepticon Civil War and the battles against Unicron. Whether he survived through these is uncertain. He doesn't appear in G2.
