'''Thunderblast''' is obsessed with power. Not attaining it for herself, but rather, latching onto a "male" Transformer who has a lot of power. She follows the strongest Decepticon she can find, and the stronger they are, the more infatuated with him she is. As such, she is usually seen clinging to [[Megatron (Armada)|Galvatron]] (who certainly doesn't reciprocate). But as soon as the power structure shifts, so does the focus of her affections.

Though she's fickle and flighty (and greedy and selfish and opportunistic and vain and overconfident and...) she's not completely stupid. She knows how to use her wiles to get what she wants, and she's no slouch in combat, especially underwater. She knows [[Autobot]]s are generally reluctant to shoot at a female and uses that to her advantage as long as she can... at least, long enough to give them a face full of missiles.

She seems to have something resembling an actual friendship with [[Lugnutz]]. And while she's generally disappointed if guys aren't fawning over her, she's found that she wants nothing to do with the geeky [[Shortround]], who is infatuated with her. On the other end of the spectrum, she has quickly gained the undying hatred of the human girl [[Lori]].

Thunderblast arrived on [[Earth]] in the colony ship ''[[Atlantis (starship)|Atlantis]]'' millions of years ago. While the Autobots watched over and guided [[human]] evolution, the Decepticons terrorized the humans, inspiring the myths and legends of old; Thunderblast was the inspiration for the myth of [[wikipedia:Loreley|Lorelei]], and possibly the Sirens. These "monsters" were rounded up by the "monster hunter" [[Crosswise (Cybertron)|Crosswise]], who locked the criminals up inside a prison located in the center of the Earth (called the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollow_Earth "Earth's Navel"]), where they stayed until they were released by [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] in the present day.

Thunderblast and Lugnutz defended Starscream's volcano-island base from the Autobots and Decepticons... up to a point. While Lugnutz decided to simply wander away from the "heavy scene", Thunderblast found herself less-than-impressed with Starscream, and took to following Megatron (whose power was just soooooo dreamy), joining his forces as they journeyed to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], which transformed into [[Primus]]' gargantuan robot mode.

There, while admiring her looks in a mirrored satellite, she was interrupted by a super-sized Starscream, who gave her the choice to steal the [[Omega Lock]] or get blasted to smithereens. She took the former option, but managed to weasel her way out of it by lying to Starscream, luring him planetside, then told Megatron that she was ordered to attack him. Starscream arrived and the two bickered, until they were interrupted by [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] and [[Wing Saber]]. All parties involved rocketed off to fight, leaving her free to wander off unperturbed. {{storylink|Escape (episode)|Escape}} Shortly afterwards, she tracked [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]] and Wing Saber, leading Megatron to the missing [[Atlantis]] starship. {{storylink|Titans}}

When Megatron returned from the [[fire dimension]], Thunderblast and the others continued to follow him, all the way to [[Gigantion]]. There, when she teamed up with [[Scourge (Cybertron)|Scourge]] in a hunt for the planet's [[Cyber Planet Key]], they ran across an Autobot party consisting of [[Override (Cybertron)|Override]], [[Wing Saber]] and the [[human]] [[Lori]]. Thunderblast and Lori very quickly got on each others' nerves, both browbeating Scourge, and when Thunderblast took off, Lori scared Wing Saber into following, leaving Scourge and Override to duke it out.

Wing Saber chased Thunderblast through the lower levels, but it was a trap, since the Decepticon was leading them to a harbor area, and water-combat was Thunderblast's element. Wind Saber took a fair pummeling, but Lori noticed a cluster of cranes, and she set them up so Wing Saber could lure the overconfident "floozy" (Lori's words). Thunderblast was crushed under a half-dozen massive claws, and Wing Saber took the chance to blast her while she was down, the explosion sending her flying away uncontrollably. {{storylink|Ambush}}

When Megatron (now Galvatron) and Starscream dueled over the [[Omega Lock]] and the four Cyber Planet Keys, Thunderblast briefly wondered if she was infatuated with the wrong 'bot. But when Galvatron emerged victorious, she followed him back to Cybertron happily. There, she and the few remaining Decepticons still loyal to Galvatron ([[Thundercracker (Armada)|Thundercracker]], [[Ransack (Cybertron)|Ransack]] and [[Crumplezone (Cybertron)|Crumplezone]]) were given a boost of Omega Lock power, super-sizing them so they could take on the massed armies that had gathered from all of the colony worlds to oppose them. After being assaulted (and insulted) by [[Undermine]] and [[Brimstone]], Thunderblast found herself going up against her old friend [[Lugnutz]]. Though she seemed shocked he'd side with the "good guys", she got over it pretty quickly and had no compunctions with trying to blow him away.

Ultimately, Galvatron's plot failed. Thunderblast realized that Galvatron was going to let her die in the cataclysm hat his plan would have caused, and along with the other now-de-powered Decepticons, ran off. When the rocket boosters that built on the [[Jungle Planet]] to push the world back to its normal place in the cosmos began to fail, the four Decepticons arrived, cackling... and helped with the efforts to keep the thrusters upright and functional, deciding to try being on the winning team for once.

Afterwards, Thunderblast, Ransack and Crumplezone went to each world, trying to find a place to fit in, and failing. (Thunderblast threw herself at about every strong male bot around, but looks like no-one was remotely interested.) When the Autobots were ready to begin their [[Space Bridge]] initiative, the trio built a rickety rocket, shanghaied the reluctant Thundercracker (who was really enjoying being an Autobot), and took off for parts unknown as the [[New Decepticon Army]].

They made it as far as [[Mars]] before the rocket crashed.

After the second defeat of Unicron, Jetfire resettled on [[Nebulon]] for an indeterminate period of time. Over time, he adopted a local accent, one that sounded very vaguely like Earth-Australian to certain [[human]]s. He returned to Cybertron, his homeworld once again facing a monumental crisis, perhaps the worst in its history.

As a backup plan, Optimus Prime ordered Jetfire to visit Earth and provide them with scans of Earthen vehicle modes for the population of Cybertron to adopt. This was done so that should their primary plan of destroying the [[Unicron Singularity]] fail, the population of Cybertron could assume disguises and relocate to the human homeworld, whose inhabitants were still largely unaware of the existence of real Transformers. {{Storylink|Fallen (Cybertron episode)|Fallen}}

During the Cybertron's third great crisis, Jetfire would appeared to have mellowed in the past 20 years. He is considerably more cautious compared to his reckless youth, and adheres much more closely to orders and protocol. Perhaps all those brushes with death have finally knocked some sense into his head, or [[Headmaster|his head was replaced]] while on Nebulon.

After the final battle with [[Megatron (Armada)|Galvatron]], peace spread across the galaxy. As part of a new initiative, Optimus Prime left aboard the starship ''[[Atlantis]]'' to chart new territory, leaving Jetfire in charge of planet Cybertron.

The tail section can be swiveled up to form an attack mode somewhat resembling the "gerwalk" form of a Macross Valkyrie (appropriately).

Among the many worlds that fell to the unending hunger of the world-eater, [[Unicron]], was one little sphere known as [[Planet Q]]. This world would not go quietly, however, as its armies fought back valiantly, but it soon it became apparent that they would not be able to stop Unicron. The planet's grand chamberlain resigned himself to his world's fate, choosing a suicide ploy. The chamberlain instructed the planet's ruler to detonate Planet Q's core, but when the ruler could not, the chamberlain committed the act himself, destroying the planet as Unicron consumed it. The explosion failed to destroy Unicron, but it did heavily damage him, forcing him into a state of dormancy. And within Unicron's slumbering husk, the [[spark]] of Planet Q's ruler continued to exist.

Driven mad by the solitary existence over the ensuing years, the mind of Planet Q's ruler fractured, splintering into five separate personalities. From Unicron's body, it sculpted for itself a new, armored form out of the "bones" of his devoured subjects, with four rotating face masks, through which each one of his personalities found voice, with his fifth personality - his original, true face - hidden away inside him, speaking only when the armour was closed, concealing his face from view. But within the shattered mind of the insane being that now called itself "Alpha Q," a kernel of genius existed - Alpha Q had discovered that, through the power of [[energon]], all that Unicron had consumed could be reconstituted. And so, using what little energon he had, he recreated the armies of Planet Q as the [[Terrorcon (Energon)|Terrorcons]], and sent them to Earth to gather energon for his plan.

After the first few strikes by the Terrorcons, Alpha Q recreated the grand chamberlain in the form of [[Scorponok (Energon)|Scorponok]], in order to turn the [[Decepticon]]s working with the [[Autobot]]s to his side. However, when [[Megatron (Armada)|Megatron]] engineered his own resurrection, Alpha Q was forced to flee Unicron's body in his head, and subsequently made a failed attempt to destroy Megatron by using the last of his Energon to recreate [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]]. When Megatron flushed Scorponok out as Alpha Q's mole, [[Rodimus (Energon)|Rodimus]] and his crew - whom Alpha Q had previously encountered and convinced of his plan - rescued him, leading to an alliance between Alpha Q and the Autobots, brokered by the human boy, [[Kicker|Chad "Kicker" Jones]]. Alpha Q initially refused to work with Kicker, but [[Misha]], through slightly kinder and more diplomatic words, was able to sway him. During Megatron's attack on [[Cybertron]] with Unicron's body, Alpha Q drove Unicron's head - now charged with the positive Energon of Earth - into the body, where it reacted with the negative Energon contained within, tearing open a fissure in space. In the new region of space that the fissure lead to, Alpha Q was able to recreate all the worlds, as he had set out to do, cultivating and sustaining them from his place within Unicron's head, which had now become a glowing energon sun. However, when Megatron succeeded in reactivating Unicron's body, he had it reclaim the chaos-bringer's head, extinguishing the sun and killing Alpha Q in the process.

Kicker recovered Alpha Q's body from within Unicron, and laid it to rest on [[Grass Planet]]. However, Alpha Q's spirit continued to observe and comment on events until the end of the conflict.

A point worth noting is that the strong affection Alpha Q feels for Scorponok is not displayed as clearly in Energon as it is in Superlink. During the episode Scorponok's Scars (which was never translated or shown in America), he repeatedly referred to Scorponok as "my Scorponok" and showed him images of their home planet in an effort to reverse Megatron's brainwashing. As well, during the Special Dream Match, Alpha Q responded to Scorponok's statement of "I don't know you" with "say I love you", showing what seems to be some sort of surrogate parent/child emotional connection.

Alpha Quintesson began the war over Energon by providing the Terrorcon group -led by Scorponok- with enhanced powers and "Hyper Modes", sending them to the undefended Earth to drain it of the newly-discovered pure Energon ore. At the same time, he sent his four Horsemen (three Autobots and a Decepticon that had been captured and brainwashed before Unicron was defeated ten years previous) to Cybertron to wreak havoc, preventing the Autobots from getting to Earth.

After a long trek through the levels of Gigantion, and the return to Cybertron, Evac returned to Earth to survey the damage - and to free the recaptured Ancient Decepticons, who he promised freedom to for helping to fight [[Megatron (Armada)|Galvatron]]. Wheeljack was next part of the team that attempted to stop the Decepticon plot to overload [[Sherman Dam]].

A restless engineer, Wheeljack has developed all manner of contraptions and equipment for his personal use and for use by his fellow Autobots, often with catastrophic results. He designed the compact yet extremely powerful explosive that nearly trapped the Decepticons in the [[Ruby Crystal Mines of Burma|ruby crystal mines of Burma]], a [[magnetic inducer]] device capable of stopping Transformers cold in their tracks, and a [[gyro-inhibitor]] shell that could incapacitate even Megatron for short spans.

Upon discovery of dinosaur bones in caverns within the [[Ark]]'s volcano, Wheeljack and Ratchet were inspired to construct robotic version of dinosaurs. The Dinobots were originally too dangerous and too primitive to control, leading to Optimus Prime commanding that the project be abandoned, but Wheeljack secretly persisted. Concealed in Wheeljack's left wrist is a fire suppression system, which no doubt came in handy when one of his devices would blow up in his face.

When the Dinobots were injured in a Decepticon attack in the year 2005, Wheeljack headed to Earth to arrange the transplantation of [[Grimlock]]'s mind into a new Binaltech body. On his return journey to the Autobot's moonbase, however, his shuttle was hijacked by time-tossed Decepticon [[Ravage]], who had begun a plan to alter the course of history. Wheeljack was shown a brief glimpse of the near future - including the deaths of himself and many of his comrades - but managed to escape Ravage's clutches; Ravage himself promptly returned to Cybertron and exhumed the [[Kronosphere]], using it to tip the balance of the decisive battle occurring at that time. Whereas the outcome would have originally favored the Decepticons, leading to their total conquest of Cybertron, Ravage ensured an ''Autobot'' victory, altering history and leaving the heroes to face the looming threat of [[Unicron]] alone.

Aware that history had been altered, Wheeljack was faced with a dilemma - should he stop Ravage's plan and restore the timestream, even though it would mean the death of many Autobots, including himself? His salvation, he hoped, lay in the [[GT System]], a device that allowed a singular [[spark]] to simultaneously control many duplicate bodies. Dubbing his original body the "Alpha Unit," he constructed the "Beta Unit" based on Grimlock's Ford Mustang body, as well as the ominous third "Omega Unit," a mysterious body about which nothing is known.

The subsequent arrival of Unicron prompted the Autobots to initiate "Operation: Distant Thunder," which saw [[Skids (G1)|Skids]] use the chronal warp on [[Dinobot Island]] to send Wheeljack's memory data back in time, in hopes of alerting the Autobots in the past and preventing alteration to the timestream. The plan didn't go very well and only wound up throwing the timestream into a severe state of whack, until a mysterious [[Nemesis Prime (Alternators)|black Optimus Prime]] appeared and sealed the time portals that had been created. Operation: Distant Thuner had succeeded in preventing the mainline timestream's operation, but had also preserved the Binaltech timeline as its own, distinct divergent universe.

Wheeljack was part of Grimlock's unit, along with [[Kup]] and [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]]. When the Decepticons placed Iacon under siege, Grimlock took his group to [[Kaon]] to look for Optimus Prime, who had gone seeking Megatron. While there, they discovered [[planetary engine turbine]]s that were providing power to a mechaforming process that was destroying Iacon. Arriving, Prime instructed Wheeljack to shut down the engines in a...creative way (it blowed up real good). The group managed to return to Iacon, where Prime halted his order to abandon the planet. {{storylink|The War Within}}

When Prime and Megatron disappeared during a [[space bridge]] explosion, Grimlock broke off from the Autobot army and formed the [[Lightning Strike Coalition]], taking his former subordinates with him. While Kup and the Dynobots attacked the [[Predacon (War Within)|Predacon]]s, Wheeljack and Ironhide hijacked some shuttles carrying raw [[Energon]], making Starscream very angry. Wheeljack was among the Transformers involved in the [[Ark II]] disaster. He survived the explosion of their spacecraft, crashing back to Earth where he and [[Trailbreaker]] lay deactivated and frozen within an iceberg until awakened by [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]]. {{Storylink|Prime Directive, Part 2}}

Wheeljack participated in the assault on [[Lazarus|Lazarus's]] Canadian Headquarters. When [[Robert Hallo|General Hallo's]] attempt to bomb the Autobots and the Decepticons out of existence instead caused a violent expansion of [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]]'s [[cyber-virus]], Wheeljack and [[Mirage (G1)|Mirage]] were the first Autobots to free themselves. {{Storylink|Prime Directive, Part 4}}

While Prime took some of the Autobots after Megatron, Wheeljack diagnosed the nature of the cyber-virus, and created a set of anti-viral blasters that used the Autobots' energy to return the converted matter to normal. Four million years ago, Cybertron - shaken from its orbit and drifting through space - came under threat when it floated into the path of a massive asteroid swarm that could potentially devastate the planet. Prime led a group of his most powerful Autobot warriors on the Autobot starship, the Ark, on a mission to destroy the asteroids, and although successful, in the aftermath of this mission the Ark was attacked by Decepticons, hoping to overcome their weakened foes. Intent on keeping the secrets of the Ark's computer, [[Auntie]], from the Decepticons, Prime set the craft on a suicide course, crashing it into the prehistoric planet Earth.

In 1984 C.E., a volcanic eruption reactivated Auntie, which in turn brought the Transformers back on-line. Prime led the Autobots in their opening battles to prevent the Decepticons from plundering Earth's resources, but following their initial victory, the Autobots were all deactivated by [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]]. Prime was decapitated by Shockwave, and had the energy of the Creation Matrix leeched from his mind to give life to Shockwave's creations, the [[Constructicon]]s (although Shockwave was unaware that the Matrix was not merely a program in Prime's mind, but a physical object in his chest). Before Shockwave could give life to his next Decepticon, [[Jetfire (G1)|Jetfire]], Prime transferred the Matrix energy into the mind of [[Buster Witwicky]], who used the energy to turn Jetfire on Shockwave, allowing Prime to reclaim his body and retake leadership of the Autobots, giving Jetfire true life as a reward.

To alleve his doubts, he and a reluctant [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]] plotted to fake Prime's death to teach the Autobots how to fend for themselves. While Prime was setting up an imposter version of himself to leave behind destroyed for the Autobots to find, Megatron sent the [[Predacon (G1)|Predacons]] to attack Prime. After a period of effective leadership, Prime engaged Megatron in a [[video game]] duel for possession of a super fuel. Prime was victorious, but Megatron implemented a cheat code, allowing him to re-enter the game. Prime was able to defeat him yet again, but in doing so, he also destroyed several of the game sprites, and refused to accept his victory, as he had performed an action that compromised his beliefs about the preservation of life, which he would never have done, had the duel been real. In accordance with the rules of the game, Prime's body exploded and he died. Autobot surgeon [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]]'s subsequent efforts to restore him were unsuccessful, and his body was launched into space. The funeral barge eventually crashed on giant moon where it lay for untold time. At one stage, an alien ship crashed near the barge. The dying alien reached out toward the Matrix, with the Matrix choosing to revive the being as Death Bringer. Much later, the Matrix would revive a small predatory animal which would prove instrumental to the conclusion of the Matrix Quest.

Prime's personality had been copied onto a [[floppy disk]] by the technician running the game, [[Ethan Zachary]], who employed him in various video game scenarios he developed. Prime's damaged mind led him to belive that he himself was a video game character, and in an attempt to bring him back to life, [[Bumblebee (G1)|Goldbug]], [[Joyride]], [[Slapdash]], and [[Getaway]] took the disk to the planet [[Nebulos]], where a new body was constructed for Prime. They built a new body for Optimus Prime, and even upgraded it with the ability to combine with the trailer to form a larger robot. In an effort to keep Transformers off their planet, however, the Nebulans had poisoned their fuel, and the sensation of dying convinced Prime that he was truly alive, and not a game character. To save his life, the Nebulan scientist [[Hi-Q]] [[binary-bonding|bonded]] with him, creating '''[[Powermaster]] Optimus Prime'''.

Powermaster Prime and his Autobots later battled [[Deathbringer]]. ''Optimus Prime immediately sensed Matrix energies emanating from Death Bringer, and realised that the undead reaper was a creation of the Matrix. Although Death Bringer proved to be invulnerable, Optimus Prime was finally able to defeat it by convincing it to self-destruct in concordance with its primary function. The battle with Death Bringer alerted Optimus Prime to the fact that his old body was still out there somewhere in space, and more importantly, that the Matrix that it carried was also with it. With a war to win, the location of the Matrix was not a high priority.''

With the subsequent threat of [[Unicron]] looming, priorites quickly changed and Prime began a quest to locate his old body and the physical Matrix object within it. When the Matrix was successfully reacquired, Prime sacrificed his life one more time to destroy Unicron by plunging the Matrix into his maw. However, the Powermaster process had been working to fully bond Prime and Hi-Q, and with Prime now destroyed, the process completed itself in Hi-Q's body, and the two minds and souls became one. Hi-Q's biomechanical body was stripped down and reconstructed by the [[Last Autobot]], creating a brand new Optimus Prime.

Prime was plagued by visions of the [[Swarm]] - a destructive by-product of Transformer reproduction - entering into an alliance with Megatron against it and the forces of the second-generation [[Cybertronian]]s led by [[Jhiaxus (G2)|Jhiaxus]]. Prime's body was destroyed yet again when he confronted the Swarm, but upon releasing the energy of the Matrix into it, purifying it, Prime was reborn by the repentant creature. At the end of the battle, Prime’s dream of reuniting the two races of Transformers into a single force for good seemed to be a possibility when the [[Autobot]]s and [[Decepticon]]s fought side by side against a common foe.

Unfortunately for Orion, when [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]], the leader of these robots, approached him with inquiries about using one of the dock warehouses, Orion fell for the deception and he and Ariel were critically wounded when Megatron and his forces then attacked in order to claim the energy stored there. Searching for someone to help them, the time-displaced [[Aerialbot (G1)|Aerialbots]] took Orion and Ariel to the ancient Autobot [[Alpha Trion]], who used them as the first subjects for the new reconstruction process he had developed - rebuilding the frail Autobot frames into battle-hardy configurations. With this reconstruction, Orion Pax became Optimus Prime, the first of the Autobot warriors, who took the mantle of leadership as the civil war against Megatron and Decepticons erupted, while Ariel was rebuilt into [[Elita One (G1)|Elita One]], the commander of the Autobot resistance on Cybertron. {{storylink|War Dawn}}

As leader of the Autobots, Prime headed up the Autobots' mission to search out new worlds with new sources of energy to revitalise the depleted Cybertron. In the ensuing struggle, the g-forces of a nearby planet pulled both crafts down, and the Autobots' ship crashed into a volcano, thrusting all the occupants of the ship into emergency stasis. Four million years later, in the Earth year 1984 C.E., a volcanic eruption jarred the ship's computer, [[Teletraan I]] back to life, and it reactivated the Decepticons, programming them with new Earth-based disguise modes. Prime was perpetually at the forefront of the action throughout the early years of the war on Earth, usually confronting Megatron, and, in some rare instances, being forced to team up with him for the greater good (or the lesser evil). He has suffered his fair share of battlefield scrapes, almost meeting his end when his vital [[cosmotron]] component was critically damaged by the Decepticon jets and [[Laserbeak (G1)|Laserbeak]], and suffering a severe - though unfair - defeat when Megatron challenged him to one-on-one combat while imbued with the different powers of all the Decepticons.

Generally, Prime acting in a commanding role as part of larger battles and event, but played prominent and solo roles in a few, also. In 1985, Megatron created a perfect duplicate of him, leaving the Autobots unable to differentiate between the two until the clone disregarded the safety of their human companion, [[Spike Witwicky]], exposing the deception. {{storylink|A Prime Problem}} Later in the same year, Prime's fame and prowess led him to become the target of the demented big-game hunter, [[Lord Chumley]], who sought his head to go along with his other rare trophies. As he pondered the where-abouts of his sibling, the Decepticons attacked Yokohama. The Autobots' defeat seemed assured until Magnus arrived with Prime's trailer upgrade, the [[Scramble Power Buster]]. The Scramble Power Buster trumped the might of the Super Megatron Gun, leaving Prime and Magnus to vanquish the Decepticon forces with their combined attack: the Double Cross Kick (basically, them jump-kicking the Decepticons in the spine at the same time).

In the Earth year 2005 C.E., Prime was stationed on [[Moonbase One]], and dispatched troops to Earth to acquire energy for an upcoming strike on Cybertron. The Decepticons, however, got wind of the plan and attacked the shuttle, killing its occupants. Their scheme was to use the shuttle to stage a [[Battle of Autobot City|surprise attack on Autobot City]]; an attack which almost suceeded if not for a distress call which summoned Prime and support troops to Earth.

Optimus Prime foresaw that his final battle with his arch-nemesis was looming, deciding that the Decepticons must be stopped, no matter the cost. Bravely, he plowed through the remaining Decepticon ranks, punishing them for every Autobot they killed overnight, before confronting Megatron. In the ensuing battle with Megatron, Optimus Prime sustained fatal injuries, but not before turning the tide of battle and forcing the Decepticon to flee. In addition to his ion blaster, Prime soon gained a weapon that he originally named the High Frequency Blade: a sword that he created from Marissa's beloved pink surfboard. Marissa hated the name, however, and renamed it the "Surf Blade". Naturally, Prime agreed to this, because really, what're you gonna do? Women, am I right, fellas?

As fugitives from the E.D.C., Prime and Marissa spent their days on the run and their nights hanging out at the beach. He longed for the day when he would be able to see her bathing in the sun, rather than the moonlight, although he also thought that all the soft-serve ice cream she was eating was making her a little fat.

One night while Marissa was surfing, she had a squid latch onto her. Then a [[Legion]] that had infused itself with both an octopus and shipwreck attacked her. With tentacles. Prime fought it off and saved Marissa, but the E.D.C. [[Autrooper]]s were soon dispatched to the scene, and the two had to beat a hasty retreat.

Kiss Player [[Atari Hitotonari]] with her Autrooper partner, Prime and Marissa entered the secret experimental facility beneath the Tokyo headquarters of the E.D.C. and discovered the sinister truth behind the shadowy organization. Everything that had occurred was part of an attempt by E.D.C. commander [[Amao]] to resurrect her daughter, who had been killed in the 2005 catastrophe. Finding Galvatron's headless corpse imprisoned in the facility, the Kiss Players realized that the only way to repair things was to return the [[Unicron]]-created Decepticon's cells. Galvatron's body absorbed the Legions, the Autroopers, and the cells inside Prime and Hot Rod, who were returned to their former forms...which meant that Prime was once again dead.

Years later, after he had again been returned to life, Prime (and [[Goldbug]]) helped the time-traveling Marissa once more by rescuing her and her friends from the [[Sharkticon]] pit on [[Quintessa]].

However, the Matrix was able to purify Prime of the Quintesson influence, and he got the other Autobots clear while he piloted his flagship into the Quintessons' detonator, triggering the explosion of a nearby sun.{{storylink|Dark Awakening}}

Prime was believed to have been destroyed in the explosion, but in reality, before the flagship impacted with the detonator, his body was recovered from the craft by two human scientists, [[Jessica Morgan]] and [[Dr. Gregory Swafford]]. However, as their ship departed, it was coated in solar spores released by the explosion of the sun. Jessica's father, [[Dr. Mark Morgan]], loathed the Autobots, and his hatred only grew when an attempt by the Decepticons to steal a heat-resistant alloy he had developed resulted in Jessica being paralyzed. It soon became apparent, however, that when Prime had released the energy of the Matrix to cure the Hate Plague, the consequences were more far-reaching than he had anticipated - without the energy of the Matrix to act as a balancing factor, [[Vector Sigma]] had become destabilized, and the Decepticons suddenly returned to exploit this, assaulting Cybertron in order to seize control of the mega-computer. Prime took a squad of troops to aid in the battle on the planet, and when the arrival of the Autobot [[Headmaster]]s tipped the battle in their favor, Prime broke off from the main attack and headed down into the depths of the planet, planning on stabilizing Vector Sigma at any cost.

Guided through the dangers of the planet's catacombs by the spirit of Alpha Trion while the other Autobots searched for the Matrix on Earth, Prime eventually arrived at the computer, only to find his way barred by [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]] and [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]]. Hot Rod then arrived with the Matrix, with which Alpha Trion merged, re-energizing it and transforming Hot Rod back into Rodimus Prime; for the first time, the two Primes fought side-by-side and defeated Galvatron.

Before Rodimus could implement the Matrix to stabilize Vector Sigma, however, Optimus Prime sacrificed himself to perform the task, merging with the computer and restoring its balance to save the planet.

Using the power of the [[Zodiac|the Zodiac]], Optimus Prime was brought back online and upgraded into '''Star Convoy'''. He was then reunited with [[Hot Rod (G1)#Battlestars: Return of Convoy (Japan-only)|Hot Rod]], who became his [[Micromaster]] partner.

With the likes of [[Sky Garry]], [[Grandus]] and [[Sixliner]], Star Convoy did battle with the Decepticons and Dark Nova's horde of [[Great Galaman]] drone warriors. Getting nowhere fast, Dark Nova then resurrected [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] (last seen buried in ice) as [[Megatron (G1)#Battlestars: Return of Convoy (Japan-only)|Super Megatron]] to counter Star Convoy. This didn't work all that well, and after defeating Super Megatron, his foe was resurrected again by Dark Nova as [[Megatron (G1)#Battlestars: Return of Convoy (Japan-only)|Ultra Megatron]]. After disposing of him yet again, Dark Nova merged with Ultra Megatron into [[Dark Nova|Star Giant]].

Star Giant proved to be virtually indestructible from the outside until Star Convoy got the bright idea of giving the villain [[Furmanism|the worst case of indigestion he's ever had]]. Holding Star Giant's massive mouth open, he ordered Sky Garry and [[Grandus]] to move in. After all 3 were swallowed, they began taking Star Giant down from the inside while simultaneously fighting off his various defensive systems. As soon as the trio escaped from Star Giant's interior, the monster exploded, leaving only his head slightly intact. As it happens, Megatron was housed inside Star Giant's noggin and survived the attack.

After the end of [[Battlestars]], Optimus Prime down-graded back to his original body. Megatron eventually recovered from the Star Giant incident and supposedly turned over a new leaf. Megatron joined with Prime to form the [[Cybertron Alliance]], and things were good for a little while, as Megatron's attempts at peace were genuinely sincere. The alliance ushered in what would be called the Second Generation of the Transformers. However, after human soldiers killed one of his dearest comrades, Megatron adopted a new body and started the war anew.

To counter Megatron, Optimus Prime upgraded his body into a new Missle Trailer mode. Rallying a new wave of Autobot warriors, Optimus dilligently repelled Megatron and the Decepticons. Megatron eventually wore Optimus down in battle, though, blowing him away with a barrage of devastating attacks. Megatron finally succeeded in delivering a fatal blow to Optimus, shooting him at point blank with his cannon. Prime would have been done for, except that the [[spark|sparks]] of the previous Autobot Supreme Commanders within the [[Matrix of Leadership]] activated the [[Reconfiguration Matrix]] to forge him a new body. Optimus Prime became '''Battle Convoy''' and easily trumped Megatron's power. After a lengthy and costly war, Battle Convoy managed to drive the Decepticon forces to retreat into deep space. Prime was last seen wounded, being aided off the battlefield by his fellow Autobots.

Megatron sent his trio of [[Cyberjet]]s to Earth first to draw out the enemy Autobots. The Cyberjets made quick work of [[Electro]] but were soon halted by the appearance of Optimus Prime.

Megatron then entered the fray and fired his Black Hole Burn attack from his fusion cannon, narrowly missing Optimus Prime but vaporizing [[Hooligan]] in the process. Prime fought fiercely but Megatron began to take the upper-hand in battle.

However, Prime was encouraged to keep fighting by the cheers of a human boy named [[Junpei]]. Megatron, surprised at Prime's resiliance, attempted to finish his foe off with his Tornado Axe attack. Prime countered with his Double Wheel-Torque Mega-Ton, which trumped Megatron's attack and injured the Decepticon badly. Megatron teleported back to his ship and left Earth's atmosphere, vowing to return.

Optimus Prime adressed Junpei, asking if the boy was injured. Junpei revealed he was alright but presented concern about the Decepticons returning to Earth. Optimus Prime swore that the Autobots would remain on Earth until the threat of the Decepticons was finished and asked for Junpei's help in making that future a reality.

Following the awakening of the Transformers on Earth, the Autobots protected the planet from the Decepticons. The Autobots finally allied with humankind and eventually defeated the Decepticons at the turn of the century. They planned to return to Cybertron aboard the newly constructed ''[[Ark_II]]'', along with seven humans, including Witwicky patriatch [[Sparkplug Witwicky|Sparkplug]]. Before the ship departed, Prime gave a piece of the Matrix to [[Spike Witwicky]], Sparkplug's son and [[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]]'s closest human friend. But the ship was destroyed as part of a military conspiracy to take control of the Transformers. However, a terrorist organization run by the enigmatic [[Lazarus]] was able to seize control of several of the Transformers that fell back to Earth, while the U.S. military located Prime's body. Spike was forced by the product chief, General [[Robert Hallo]], to use the piece of the Matrix to reactivate Prime. Functional again, Prime used the Matrix to reactivate more of his fallen comrades, and then faced off against Megatron in [[San Francisco]].

Following this, Prime began to experience subconscious urgings, leading both the Autobots and the Decepticons to the Arctic Circle, where Shockwave arrived to greet them - and arrest them as war criminals. Shockwave had succeeded in ending the war on Cybertron, but Prime soon fell in with a rebel Autobot group that had discovered Shockwave had a greater agenda. Rallying Autobots across Cybertron to the cause, Prime faced Shockwave in battle but was defeated and had the Matrix ripped from him and used to activate Vector Sigma. Optimus Prime commands the Autobot armed forces spread across the galaxy from the [[Autobot Orbital Command Hub]]. He was directly involved in the cataclysm ([[IDW timeline|just under 450 years ago]]) that reduced Cybertron to a dead husk, fighting alongside Megatron in an attempt to stop [[Thunderwing_(G1)|Thunderwing]]'s rampage. Their efforts were futile, and they only survived due to Cybertron swallowing Thunderwing at [[Thunderhead Pass]]. Megatron was unconvinced that Thunderwing was dead, and advocated that Cybertron be destroyed to better insure that the mad Decepticon is forever destroyed. Prime refused, and threatened to stop any effort that Megatron attempted. Megatron agreed to spare the planet, but warned Prime that anything which happened afterwards was on his head.

In the present, Prime recieved a pulsewave from [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]], who was stationed under [[Prowl (G1)|Prowl]] on Earth, saying that the Decepticon infiltration cell under Starscream had broken their infiltration methods and enacted [[siege mode]] prematurely. Soon afterward, the Autobot science vessel ''[[Calabi-Yau]]'' sends a distress signal from above [[Thunderhead Pass]], he ordered the [[Wreckers]] to withdraw from [[Varas_Centralus|Varas Centralus]] and meet him on Cybertron. {{Storylink|Stormbringer, part 2}} Thunderwing had been restored by [[Bludgeon (G1)|Bludgeon]] and his followers, and though the Wreckers made short work of them, the real fight would be met with Thunderwing. Jetfire discovered information in Bludgeon's files about the mysterious new form of Energon found on Earth. Optimus Prime, now fully filled in on Earth's happenings, decided that they needed reinforcements. He called [[Nightbeat]], [[Hot Rod]], and [[Hardhead (G1)|Hardhead]] to come when they could. When Prowl pointed out that Megatron, in his new gun-based Earth mode, was in the breakaway Soviet state of Brasnya stirring up trouble, Prime ordered them into action.

[[Blitzwing]] almost got the drop on Prime, but Roller was right behind him, and executed him with one single shot. Megatron returned to his full-size robot mode and disagreed with the quality of Prime's tea and crumpets. At last, the two rivals were going to go at it.

The fight, at first, went well, with Prime blowing Megatron's fusion blaster clean off. Megatron, however, tireless thanks to Ore-13, prevailed, almost beating Prime into stasis lock. {{storylink|Escalation (issue 5)}}

However, Prime transfered his consciousness into his trailer, leading Megatron to believe him dead. Realising that "Ore-13" was the same as Ultra Energon, Prime returned to his body in time to save his forces from the relentless Megatron, dealing enough damage to the Decepticon leader to drain his power reserves, just as he did against Thunderwing. The victory was narrow however, leaving Optimus with the daunting task of fending off an increasing enemy force without his last ace in the hole. {{storylink|Escalation (issue 6)}}

This near-death experience had left Prime somewhat unsettled. While his conciousness was in [[infraspace]] downloading to his trailer, he sensed a presence of dread - the visage of his long-missing predecessor [[Nova Prime]]. Looking for answers, Optimus Prime left Earth temporarily to seek an audience with [[Omega Supreme]] for answers. Once there, he found out about Nova's beliefs of how Transformers were better than everyone else and should show it, and faced down the rampaging Monstructor, a legacy of Nova's tenure locked away by Omega Supreme. [[Sideswipe (G1)|Sideswipe]], eager to search for [[Sunstreaker]], suggested that they be reassigned to Earth, and Prime agreed. The rookie of Team Prime, Ironhide has a major case of hero-worship towards both Optimus Prime and [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]]. He joins the team in the very first episode, in the hopes of earning a [[Combination Spark]].

Optimus Prime paired Ironhide with [[Kicker]], in the hopes that the two would help to keep one another under control. Neither was very happy with the partnership at first, but eventually they became good friends.

Ironhide did manage to earn a Combination Spark after several battles, making him able to [[Powerlinx|powerlink]] with [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]] and later, [[Cliffjumper (Energon)|Cliffjumper]]. Along with several other characters, Ironhide was reformatted into a new paint job to fight Unicron.

Ironhide went through several character growths due to the changes taking place in Scorponok, whom he looked up to initially. He would eventually lead a rookie team to their deaths against Scorponok, and nearly kill Scorponok in retaliation. In the end, he and Scorponok fought each other into a stasis. His life was saved when Scorponok carried his damaged body to Optimus Prime on Jungle Planet, in order to merge Ironhide's spark with Optimus Prime. He was restored to life afterwards and was last seen with Kicker on Ocean Planet.

In 1984, Spike was a 14-year-old adolescent working with his father [[Sparkplug Witwicky|Sparkplug]] on an oil rig when the Decepticons attacked. After the Autobots rescued them, they volunteered to become their native guides to planet Earth.

Spike had many adventures with the Autobots, taking part in just about everything they did on Earth for at least the next few years. He became especially close friends with the little Autobot Bumblebee. At one point, however, Spike was injured in a Decepticon attack, and his mind was transferred to the unstable [[Autobot X]]. The process began to play havoc with Spike's mind, allowing [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] to manipulate him in into attacking [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] and the Autobots. Only after nearly killing his father did Spike realize that he was being duped. His mind was subsequently transferred back into his body.

In the course of his adventures with the Autobots, he met [[Carly]], an impetuous prodigy and MIT graduate. Despite being (much) smarter, older (she could drive), and hotter than him, Carly displayed a noticeable affection for the somewhat-dim Spike. They mated and produced [[Daniel Witwicky|offspring]].

As an adult in the distant year 2005, Spike was stationed with Bumblebee on one of the Autobot's secret moonbases. He had a bit of a potty-mouth about being eaten by the monster-planet [[Unicron]], but that would make anyone pissed. He was saved from the belly of Unicron by his afforementioned offspring. Later, when the Autobots had regained control of the planet, he became Earth's ambassador...or something.

Spike Witwicky was away at college for the first few years of the Autobot/Decepticon war on Earth until he returned home to find his younger brother [[Buster_Witwicky|Buster]] kidnapped by the Decepticons. Spike soon became the binary-bond partner to the [[Headmasters|Headmaster]] [[Fortress_Maximus_(G1)|Fortress Maximus]], after Fortress Maximus' first partner, [[Galen]], was killed in a battle with the Deception [[Scorponok_(G1)|Scorponok]].

Thereafter he struggled with balancing his responsibillities to his family with those to the Autobots. Once Buster was rescued, and with [[Optimus Prime]] returned to life to take his place as Autobot leader, Spike went into retirement, mothballing poor Max. This retirement wouldn't last however as it was interupted, first by a pair of Deceptioon [[Pretenders]], then by the crash of the [[Ark]] and a raving [[Galvatron]]. Through the course of these conflicts Spike learned that the [[binary bonding]] he had undergone with Maximus was far deeper and more permanent than he'd believed. Fortress Maximus was always there with him in his head, always a part of him. After his battle with Galvatron he seemed to have made peace with his connection to Fortress Maximus and his role as (perhaps) the last Autobot protector of Earth.

The handful of Autobots who remained alive despaired and were on the cusp of giving up, but Spike and [[Lisa]] (who shared growing feelings for each other) guilted them into one last suicidal attack on Decepticon headquarters in New York before the rest of the world could unleash a nuclear holocaust onto America at midnight. Though there were several casualties, Spike managed to hoist an American flag on the Decepticon stronghold on live television, a symbolic measure which prompted the end of the planned nuclear strike. Before Galvatron II could respond, the Decepticon despot was abducted by [[Hook, Line, and Sinker]] into another timeline.

It's to be assumed that Spike and his father, Sparkplug, met the Autobots early on in their time on Earth (in a similar fashion as Spike and Sparkplug did in the cartoon, or Buster and Sparkplug did in the Marvel Comics). Spike definitely had a younger brother named Buster (like in the Marvel comics), yet it was Spike who formed a close friendship with Bumblebee (like in the cartoon, rather than missing out on the first few years of the Witwicky family's interaction with the Transformers while engaging in drinking orgies at college, like he did in the Marvel comics). The exact details of the Witwicky's early years as the Autobots' human associates are therefore not known.

Somewhere in the time after 1984, Spike married Carly, who then gave birth to Spike's son, Daniel. After the explosion of the Ark II in 1999, which caused the death of Spike's father Sparkplug, Spike tried to leave his involvement with the Transformers behind and settled down with his wife and son in Cleveland, Ohio, trying to live a new life as a normal family. The newfound peace wouldn't last for long, though, as Spike was soon recruited by a shady military official named [[Robert Hallo|General Hallo]] seeking his help in reviving Optimus Prime, whose body his men had recently found in the Arctic. Spike, who had been entrusted by Prime with a fragment of the Matrix, used that fragment to bring Prime back to life. {{Storylink|Prime Directive, Part 1}} {{Storylink|Prime Directive, Part 2}}

Prime subsequently used the Matrix to revive and assemble a group of his Autobots, which he would then lead against Megatron's Decepticons. Meanwhile, Spike was imprisoned by General Hallo, who had double motives behind reviving the Autobots and even tried to kill them by bombing them. Following these events, Spike once again returned to his family and tried to leave his past with the Transformers behind. Spike, frustrated that the Autobots refused to leave him alone, hurled a few nasty insults against his old buddy before changing his mind and joining him on a men's night out in the city, where they stopped a mugging. The follow-up scene of Carly shouting at Spike singing [[drinking_songs|drinking songs]] with Bumblebee was never published due to the untimely faltering of Dreamwave. It also means we will never if Spike and Bumblebee formed a crime fighting duo
