Marty asked to see it, threatening to break parts of Aron's face unless he handed over whatever it was. Aron eventually relented, handing over an empty box. After observing that Aron's bird appeared to have fled, Marty called the boy a nerd and left.

When a group of startled [[Transformer|Transformers]] arrived in Aron's room, Nitro immediately began stalking a [[Soundwave (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|blue and white one]], chasing it across the floor. He soon caught his prize, only to have it taken away by his master. Undeterred, he stalked a group of [[Autobot|Autobots]] hiding in Aron's building set and then helped Aron capture [[Ravage (G1)|Ravage]]. [[Aron's parents]] then came to investigate the smell of smoke, and Nitro gave away the Autobots' hiding place in a desk drawer.

Sometime later, the Autobots were able to hitch a ride on Nitro to get back into Aron's room. [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]] was able to come up with a plan to return the group of Autobots to Earth, however once preparations were made, the Decepticons attacked and took [[Bumblebee (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Bumblebee]] hostage. Perhaps sensing a chance to redeem himself, Nitro pounced on them, freeing Bumblebee but sending the Decepticons into the teleport beam and back to Earth.

In need of money, [[Raoul]] promised the Geddis brothers a car by midnight. When he didn't deliver the car by the alloted deadline, the brothers went looking for him. Finding him in an alley, Jim roughed him up a bit, announcing ominously that they were going to take him for a ride to the river. Unfortunately for them, Raoul had made a new friend — an [[Autobot]] named [[Tracks (G1)|Tracks]]. Mistaking Tracks for a Decepticon, the brothers jumped into their purple limo and made a run for it though Manhattan. Though Tracks took to the air and caught up with them, they managed to lose him at their warehouse.

When they had accumulated 500 cars, they delivered them to a secret base in the [[Pine Barrens]] of [[New Jersey (Earth)|New Jersey]]. The Decepticons had promised them a million dollars for their work, but when Jim asked for it, [[Megatron (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Megatron]] introduced the pair to the business end of his [[fusion cannon]]. Jim took a futile shot at the Decepticon leader with a laser pistol, but the return fire sent the Geddis brothers fleeing into the woods, and they were never seen again.

==Synopsis==
In [[New York City]], two thugs carjack a familiar looking car, which also has a stereo sitting in the front seat. Heading to a chop shop, the punks try to sell the car...at which point the car turns into [[Tracks (G1)|Tracks]], and the stereo turns into [[Blaster (G1)|Blaster]]. The chop shop head, [[Winston]], tries to run, when [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Optimus Prime]] arrives. Winston vainly tries to shoot Optimus as the actual police arrive and arrest him.

The [[Autobot]]s are helping the NYPD in a crime busting program, but their [[Great War (G1)|never ending war]] is also on Prime's mind. The Autobot leader is convinced that the [[Decepticon]]s are nearby, plotting mischief, as they are prone to do, but the Autobots just can't find them. Heading back to [[Sparkplug Witwicky]]'s garage, Tracks is enjoying the city so he decides to go for a drive, while [[Powerglide (G1)|Powerglide]], [[Cosmos (G1)|Cosmos]], [[Seaspray (G1)|Seaspray]], [[Huffer (G1)|Huffer]] and [[Hoist (G1)|Hoist]] go out on patrol.

Tracks has a run-in with some more punks and scares them off, but one of the punks shoots a tire out, causing Tracks to crash. Unable to [[Transformation|transform]] or call the garage, he is found by young [[Raoul]], who drags him to an alley and plans to sell him to the [[Geddis brothers]]. Once he learns that Tracks is alive, he decides to fix him up, but he's still planning on selling him. Raoul accidentally cuts a wire that connects Tracks' computer to his body and silences the Autobot, but reconnects it. (That's one important wire.)

On patrol, Seaspray is disgusted with what the humans have dumped in the East River (aren't we all). Cosmos swoops down to inspect an accident, which Huffer and Hoist help clear up. They update Prime, who is getting worried about Tracks.

Back at the alley, Raoul is done, and is having second thoughts about selling Tracks. The Geddis brothers arrive and start to rough up Raoul, only for Tracks to transform and "ask" them to stop. The Geddis brothers flee, mentioning how shocked they are that a Transformer is attacking them. Tracks and Raoul follow, Tracks having deduced that they must be dealing with the Decepticons. They lose the Geddis brothers, but Raoul knows their main garage is down by the wharf. Heading there, Tracks and Raoul follow the legion of stolen cars.

Above them, Powerglide spots [[Starscream (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Starscream]], and follows him. Powerglide and Cosmos chase the [[Air Commander]] into a human mall, only for Starscream to threaten the civilians and escape. Prime calculates that Starscream is heading for the [[Pine Barrens]] in [[New Jersey (Earth)|New Jersey]], and the Autobots roll out.

Somewhere in the Pine Barrens, the Geddis brothers are working with the Decepticons to provide them with 500 stolen cars. The Geddis brothers demand their million dollar payment. [[Megatron (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Megatron]] shows them the business end of the [[fusion cannon]], and one of the brothers fires off a few shots at Megatron. A single blast from Megatron sends the Geddis brothers running. Tracks tries to contact Prime, but his radio is still damaged, so he decides to get up close and personal, seeing what Megatron intends. When he discovers that the [[Constructicon (G1)|Constructicons]] are intending to dismantle the cars, Tracks attempts to flee, only for the wire connecting his computer to sever again. Tracks is placed on the conveyor belt with the other cars ready for demolition.

Realizing Tracks is in danger, Raoul reveals himself to the Decepticons and says he placed a bomb in his car. Megatron allows him to disarm it, but instead Raoul reconnects the wire that reactivates Tracks and the pair bail. [[Soundwave (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Soundwave]] sends [[Rumble (G1)|Rumble]] and [[Ravage (G1)|Ravage]] to hunt and kill, and Tracks is running out of power. He tells Raoul to run, but [[Sideswipe (G1)|Sideswipe]], [[Jazz (G1)|Jazz]] and [[Bumblebee (G1)|Bumblebee]] arrive and drive [[Decepticon Mini-Cassette|the two cassettes]] off.

Back at the garage, Tracks and Raoul fill the Autobots in on what's happening, just as the Autobots discover first-hand that the rebuilt cars are heading into New York. Prime, Blaster, and [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]] defend the Washington Bridge, as Tracks, Bumblebee, [[Inferno (G1)|Inferno]], and Sideswipe defend the Chrysler Building, while [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]], Huffer, and [[Windcharger (G1)|Windcharger]] defend another part of the city. Just when the Autobots believe they have the upper hand, the cars transform into gun-wielding drones, presenting a severe tactical deficiency.

Ratchet realizes that the drones are being remotely controlled, and that the Jersey base is the source. Blaster jams the control frequency, allowing the Autobots time to break off to attack the Decepticon base. Raoul tries to take a crow bar to the controls of the car drone factory. However, Megatron captures Raoul, and orders the Autobots to surrender. Raoul opens a panel on Megatron's chest, and uses a spray paint can to short circuit the Decepticon leader. Rumble orders a retreat back to the [[Decepticon Headquarters (G1 Earth)|base]] before Starscream can declare himself the new leader. The Autobots destroy the factory, causing the drone army to shut down.

At Sparkplug's garage, the poor fleshling predicts that it will take weeks to restore the cars to their original configuration, even with Ratchet, Hoist, and [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]]'s help. Raoul takes that as his cue to leave, only for Tracks to "volunteer" Raoul for repair duty.

===Animation or technical glitches===
* As the cop car arrives at the garage, its back door opens - but is shown to be hinged at the back instead of the front.
* As Blaster throws the punks on the ground, one of them clips through the police officers.
* The animators never seemed to get a good grasp on the design of Tracks' car mode, and this episode puts it on full display. For example, as he leaves Sparkplug's garage, he's drawn with over-sized tires and squished doors.
* Rauol restores Tracks' computer stuff, but in two behind-the-hood shots, the blinking lights are missing.
* As Prime activates a screen to contact Powerglide, the screen's initial static is wider than the screen itself.
* When Hoist hauls the damaged '4WD' (which is actually a sedan car) away, he drives floating mid-air into the background.
* Tracks' flying car mode is shown with nothing but 2 wings rotating out from under his chassis. Normally it's a full transformation with tailfins and some alterations to his back half.
* Starscream's first line appears to be cut off; he says "Attention Soundwave" even though Soundwave is not part of the story at this point, then goes "Uh oh" as he notices Powerglide following him.
* Starscream's shots at Powerglide use the Autobot laser sound effect.
* Starscream's canopy is all-yellow as he pursues Powerglide, instead of having a grey cowling at the end.
* After Cosmos strafes Starscream, the details from the front of his ship mode are repeated on his back. Later, in the mall, they will be drawn on the back of his robot mode as well.
* Starscream, Powerglide, and Cosmos have no trouble fitting in a shopping mall, walking right in through the main doors. They even run up (what must be an incredibly wide) escalator!
* "He must be hiding somewhere!" - Cosmos is a couple of heads taller than Powerglide. Normally he'd be about the same height or a bit shorter.
* Cosmos gets no transformation sound as he lands with the damaged elevator car.
* The first time we see Megatron, his gunbarrel is on the left side of his back. In the next shot, it's (correctly) on the right side.
* The other stolen cars randomly appear and disappear as Tracks rides the conveyor belt into the Decepticon building.
* Sideswipe is colored as Soundwave twice — once in an overhead shot at the Autobot base, and again when the Autobots charge towards Megatron's building.
* The start of Teletraan's warning to Prime is cut off. Tracks then says "The Decepticon cars - they're here!" with the same radio muffling that is normally applied to Teletraan.
* When leaving to intercept the drones, Tracks is supposed to walk in front of Optimus, toward the camera; but he's layered behind Optimus therefore appears to be ''taller'' than Prime for a moment.
* The sides of Blaster's helmet are white as he transforms on the bridge.
* Ratchet's first shots aren't aligned with the barrel of his gun.
* All of the Decepticon drones are identical, right down to the color scheme, despite transforming from cars of wildly different makes and colors.
* As Blaster notes, "They don't look all that smart to me," Optimus Prime is the one shown to be speaking.

* The bridge fight has several errors: Sometimes the ground is smooth, while other times it has rectangular lines; several times, the drones and the Autobots are drawn with a sky background where the bridge towers should still be shown; and as Blaster activates his jammer, the cable wires disappear.
* Blaster activates his jamming frequency using the same switch the thieves pressed at the beginning of the episode to turn on his radio.
* The animations for muzzle flashes and lasers in this episode are very different and of a much lower quality than in most of the previous episodes (for instance, we usually see only the flashes and not the beams in closeups). The sound effects are different also, including Ironhide's weapon sounding like a chain gun, among other things.

===Continuity errors===
* After pointedly professing that he doesn't understand all of Tracks' fancy computer stuff, why the heck does Raoul just reach in and cut a random wire?
* And why DOES Tracks have such an easily reached vulnerability right under his hood?
* During the fender bender traffic jam, Hoist is seen riding in Huffer's cab. For scale reference, Huffer is ''shorter'' than Hoist in robot mode.
* The Geddis brothers rough up Raoul at midnight. Some time later, Powerglide and Cosmos harass Starscream in a shopping mall that's doing a pretty decent amount of business. Even in New York City, the malls don't stay open ''that'' late.

* Speaking of the mall, Starscream must be incredibly stealthy since all the mall patrons are oblivious to his presence. No one is screaming or running, and in fact people are just sitting down at tables or casually looking over ledges. You'd think by now they would realize that when a Decepticon appears, you don't want to hang around.
* Fighting against two flight capable Autobots, Starscream escapes... into the air?
*All the advanced technology at the [[Constructicon (G1)|Constructicons]]' disposal, technical know how to build transforming drones...and [[Scrapper (G1)|Scrapper]] is using a ''sword'' to slice the cars in half? And how does slicing them in half make them easier to convert into drones?
* Raoul must have a Doraemon-style inner-jacket pocket. There is no bulge or any other indication he is carrying a can that large... if basically materializes out of nowhere.

* The [[New York City]] of this episode, while still a cartoon, is a lot more grimy and grungy than [[City of Steel|the last time we saw it]] (some might say more true to life.) It's got stolen cars, gangs, punks, a river full of garbage, traffic jams, and an overall darkness that fits with the 1980s perception of the city.
* Even given that 500 cars have been stolen and it's late at night, there seems to be a severe lack of traffic (in the streets and on the bridge) in New York City. The Autobots and the drones are the only vehicles/robots we see towards the end of the episode.

Bringing his offering of fruit to the temple for the Sky Gods, Scrawney was rebuked by Jero for the amount of fruit he had offered. Perhaps fortunately for him, the ceremony was interrupted by an attack by [[Talaria]] and her band of rebels. That night, as the Titans sat around the fire, Talaria tried to convince them that the Sky Gods were false, but Scrawney clung to his belief in the Sky Gods. A belief which seemed vindicated when, a short time later, a "real" [[Cosmos (G1)|Sky God]] crashed to the ground nearby. Unfortunately this was soon followed by the arrival of [[Astrotrain (G1)|Astrotrain]], [[Starscream (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Starscream]] and [[Thrust (G1)|Thrust]], who posed as Sky Gods and enslaved everyone.

He and two other Titans encountered [[Jazz (G1)|Jazz]] and [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]] in the [[Fire God's lair]] and asked to be destroyed, as the Transformers had destroyed their faith. The two Autobots maintained that the Decepticons had been lying to them. Indeed, once the Decepticons had been routed, they triggered a chain reaction in the [[energy crystal]]s. Scrawney, along with the rest of the Titans, was whisked to safety by [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]] and began rebuilding their city at a new location. {{storylink|The God Gambit}}

During the annual sacrifices to the Titan [[Sky God]]s, Talaria led a rebellion and captured High Priest [[Jero]], exposing his Sky God for what it was: a poorly controlled statue. At a meeting of the people, she tried to convince the Titans that there were no gods. As Jero countered with religious dogma, Talaria outright demanded that he show the Titans a sky god...at which point the injured [[Autobot]] [[Cosmos (G1)|Cosmos]] crashed right into the meeting. Talk about bad timing. As Talaria tried to convince the others that it was a trick, the [[Decepticon]] [[Astrotrain (G1)|Astrotrain]] arrived with his minions [[Thrust (G1)|Thrust]] and [[Starscream (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Starscream]], proclaiming themselves gods, hoping to use the Titans to mine [[energy crystal]]s for them. Following them to the temple, Talaria overheard Astrotrain mention that reconnecting a wire would allow Cosmos to reactivate. When no one was looking, Talaria connected the wire, which also activated his communications systems. Speaking with [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Optimus Prime]], Talaria had trouble relaying where Cosmos was (despite an otherwise perfect understanding of English), so the [[Prime (rank)|Autobot leader]] told her to activate his homing beacon. However, Thrust and Starscream tried to stop her, but Cosmos reactivated long enough to allow Talaria to escape (and get shot again).

Fleeing into the forest, she proceeded to fire arrows at [[Jazz (G1)|Jazz]] and [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]], who had been sent to rescue Cosmos. After the Autobot [[Second-in-command|Sub-Commander]] talked Talaria down, she led them to the temple where Cosmos was, only for Starscream and Thrust to discover them (they have really good timing, don't they?). Talaria was captured, and Astrotrain decided to make her a sacrifice. Fortunately, Jazz rescued her from death, and [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]] drove off the Decepticons. Unfortunately, Astrotrain detonated the energy crystals. Though the island was destroyed, the Titans managed to escape to another island with help from the Autobots.
