Nekomimis A and B first appear as characters within a video game-cum-virtual battle training simulator used by the Autobots. The duo acted as announcers and referees for a series of tournament fights held between the Autobots at a low point during their war for [[energon (Energon)|energon]], which included digital clones of the deceased and the previous bodies of characters who had been upgraded, as well as several Decepticons, who hacked into the system in order to join the fun.

Nekomimi B seemed to be infatuated with [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]], calling him "dreamy" twice. However, perhaps changing her mind after witnessing Galvatron's brutal takedown of [[Demolishor (Armada)|Demolishor]] and [[Cyclonus (Armada)|Snow Cat]], she joined Nekomimi B in calling Hot Shot "dreamy" near the end of the tournament.

Following Hot Shot and [[Rodimus (Energon)|Rodimus]]'s victory by ring-out against [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Supreme]] in the final round, Nekomimi A and Nekomimi B presented the winning team with trophies—shortly before they announced that Hot Shot and Rodimus would now take on the "special guest fighter", a pint-sized virtual incarnation of [[Unicron]]. The '''tongue''' is a part of [[Transformer]] anatomy sometimes found inside the mouth. Though Transformer tongues seem similar in structure and appearance to the tongues of [[Human|humans]], what function they serve on Transformers is uncertain. Though considering that Transformers appear to speak just like humans, using what appear to be lips and teeth to form phonemes, it's possible the Transformers who have tongues use them to help form those sounds. Whether Transformers also use tongues to taste, as humans do, is unknown. Or maybe they serve no purpose and [[Quintesson|some]][[Primus|body]] built them crazy.

In [[Kiss Players (franchise)|some continuities]], [[Legion|tongues]] appear to serve a different purpose entirely.

In [[Transformers Animated (franchise)|others]], tongues can be used [[Starscream Heckles Megatron|to make mocking facial expressions]]. [[Spittor (Animated)|Spittor]] possesses a tongue made of cables that he can use to snare Autobots and drag them into his mouth to coat with explosive orange slime.
