Synopsis
On Cybertron, a brainwashed Sparkplug Witwicky sounds an alarm on Spike, Brawn, and Bumblebee. As Shockwave and Soundwave attempt to destroy them, Skyfire, Wheeljack, and Trailbreaker rescue them. Heading to Wheeljack's lab, they review the hypno-chip data they've gained.

On Earth, Megatron is overseeing the construction of a large hydroelectric generator that will allow the Decepticons to harvest more energy. Doctor Arkeville is becoming increasingly dissatisfied with Megatron's disregard of his interests, and feels that Starscream may be more sympathetic. Optimus Prime leads Jazz, Prowl, Ironhide, and Bluestreak (on surfboards) to the generator, where their wipeout prevents them from being able to stop the Decepticons from leaving in a shuttle carrying energon cubes. Arkeville is left to die, but Starscream saves him, having his own plans for the scientist.

On Cybertron, Wheeljack develops a device that should disrupt the hypno-chips' control over the humans. Spike attempts another rescue of his father, but is discovered by Shockwave. However, Wheeljack's device works as planned, and the Autobots flee back to Earth with Sparkplug, who is now freed from Decepticon control.

On an island, Megatron is overseeing the loading of a shuttle with energon cubes while Mirage goes to see if he can direct the humans away from the ship. Nearby, Starscream's own experiments in draining neural energy from Arkeville have failed to fill a single energon cube. Megatron discovers them and prepares to execute Starscream for treason (again). However, Mirage manages to direct the humans away from the shuttle, and Prime orders an attack. The Decepticons outnumber the Autobots, but Skyfire and company soon arrive to even the odds as well as to free the slaves from the Decepticons' control. However, Cybertron comes into view of the island, causing a tidal wave, and Megatron flees in the shuttle for Cybertron.

Spike declares that they just need to knock Cybertron out of Earth's orbit, but Prowl says that they'd need the equivalent of ten billion astroliters of energy to do that. Suddenly, Prime realizes that the energon on board the shuttle could theoretically be enough to move Cybertron. Prime orders the Autobots to shoot Megatron's shuttle. The plan works, with the energon on board moving Cybertron away from Earth.

Back on the island, Spike remarks to Optimus that Megatron appears to be gone for good, but the Autobot leader, knowing his mortal enemy's survival rate, is not so sure. In space, Megatron comes back online and flies away from the wreckage of the shuttle, vowing revenge.
Notes
Technical or animation glitches
* In his opening recap narration, Victor Caroli mispronounces Dr. Arkeville's name as "Ark-vill".
* Both Spike and Sparkplug were wearing their signature hard hats at the end of last episode, but are missing them now.
* Bumblebee's nose is yellow as Brawn tells Spike they need to roll out.
* As Shockwave melts Brawn's girder, Brawn's mouth moves, but there's no dialog. (It sure looks like he's mouthing a shocked obscenity, though!)
* Wheeljack is missing the orange on his chest as Spike takes shelter behind his leg.
* Wheeljack's transformation sound doesn't play till after he's transformed.

* As the Autobots escape from Decepticon HQ, Soundwave's Decepticon insignia is missing in two successive shots.
* Shockwave's eye isn't flashing as he says "You cannot get out!"
* The two Seekers guarding the entrance of Decepticon Headquarters are shown with Starscream and Thundercracker's color schemes.
* Wheeljack's roof is plain white as the tetrajets appear above him.
* The two tetrajets that chase the Autobots first have the same color schemes as Thundercracker and Skywarp; however, when Skyfire is shooting at them, they're both colored like Skywarp. In the same shot, Skyfire's red has become blue, and his whites have become red.
* When Skyfire blasts one of the tetrajets, both of them are colored like Thundercracker.
* When Spike says, "More Watchdogs on our tail, Wheeljack!", Wheeljack follows up by replying, "We've gotta lose them!" Spike smiles in reply to this sentence, not the next one, which is "My workshop's just ahead". Perhaps Wheeljack was supposed to say: "We're gonna lose them!".
* Wheeljack's chest (ie, his roof) is again missing its colors in the overhead shot of his lab.
* As Wheeljack studies the mind control program, the side of Trailbreaker's chest is colored as though it were a windshield, and only the front side of Wheeljack's "ears" flash.
* Prime's faceplate doesn't move as he reports his sensor readings to Ironhide.
* During his "Surf's up" lines, Bluestreak has only one door and one missile launcher.
* Appearing/disappearing Autobots:
** The establishing shot of the surfing Autobots shows only five 'bots (Prime, Ironhide & Ratchet, Jazz, and either Prowl or Bluestreak.) Prowl and Bluestreak are shown in the same shot a moment later, making six total. Most successive shots show only 3 or 4 surfing bots. We finally see all six as the tidal wave pursues them down the sea funnel.
** There's plenty of time for Mirage and Cliffjumper to join the group as they travel to the island, but the addition of just those two seems a bit odd. Where are Sunstreaker, Gears, Sideswipe, etc. during all this?
* Ironhide's helmet rim is gray instead of red as he turns to look at the oncoming tidal wave.
* The inside of Prime's cheek guards are gray instead of blue as he announces that they're almost there.
* As Prowl grouses about Megatron's energon supply, Jazz has some weird extra lines on his optic visor.
* The area around Starscream's cockpit is colored the same orange as the cockpit itself as he rises from the ocean to collect Dr. Arkeville.
* Reflector's voice comes in its usual triplicate form... even though there's only one of him present.
* Wheeljack is missing his Autobot insignia as he reports to Optimus.
* Wheeljack's ears are waaaay too small as he proposes field testing the anti-hypnochip device.
* Spike slightly phases through a wall just before Shockwave lights him up.
* The two Seekers that accompany Shockwave just can't make up their minds who they want to be:
** As Shockwave reaches to pick up Spike, the two generic Seekers behind him have been replaced by two Skywarps.
** As the Autobots show up, the two Skywarps have become a Thundercracker and a pine-green generic.
** As the Autobots escape, the two Seekers are colored as Thundercracker and Starscream.
** And then one of them is Skywarp again as he fires after the escaping Autobots.
* Spike has no pupils as he reacts to his father pulling a gun on him.

* As Wheeljack activates the hypno-chip-un-hypnotizer, Bumblebee is represented by a yellow-colored Cliffjumper.
* Shockwave's eye doesn't flash as he orders "After them!"
* Skyfire's cockpit canopy is colored white instead of blue as he appears over the Autobots.
* Only the front side of Wheeljack's "ears" flash as he radios Skyfire.
* The background music overlaps the scene transition as the Autobots prepare to leave Cybertron.
* Mirage's invisibility power is strangely portrayed in this episode; he merely turns transparent, and also lacks the usual glowing prism and energy sound effect as he activates his power. They get both the sound and the effect correct when he reappears in Act 3.
* Megatron is missing his Decepticon symbol as he appears behind Starscream.
* As Prime announces his intention to attack, Prowl is colored like Skywarp. Prime's waist is also unusually huge.
* Skywarp's cockpit is black instead of orange as Megatron says "A fool's ploy".
* In what is otherwise a beautiful depiction of his robot mode, Rumble is missing his mouth after he blasts Mirage.
* Gray helmet rims on Ironhide again as he advises Cliffjumper to save his ammo.
* Prowl's doors are all-black instead of half-black as he says they're outnumbered.
* Wheeljack's ears don't flash as he announces the coming of "independence day".
* The energon cubes dropped by the slaves are a strange translucent yellow-white-purple, rather than the usual solid glowing pink-purple. In the same shot, we cannot see the torso of the fat mustached slave through the energon cube that he's carrying... but we can see his feet through the cube after he drops it.
* The chunks of earth falling into Rumble's earthquake crevasse have grass that disappears and reappears between frames.
* Bumblebee's side is colored like glass as he observes the approaching crevasse.
* When Thundercracker launches to follow Megatron, he's a much darker blue than usual.
* The exploding energon cubes are shown against a completely black background. Even if they're in an unlit cargo compartment, the cubes themselves should illuminate the space.
* A series of "natural disaster" shots is recycled from Part 1 as Megatron's ship explodes... including one of Prime talking to himself, this time without any dialog to go with his moving mouthplate.
* The last shot of orbital Cybertron once again includes clouds behind the orbiting planet.
* Wheeljack is missing his orange chest colors as the Autobots brush themselves off.
* Optimus is missing the horizontal lines on his tummy grille as Spike takes stock of the day's work.

Continuity errors
* As seen last episode, Ironhide is part of the Autobot rescue party that boards Skyfire and arrives on Cybertron, only to disappear immediately after. In this episode, we see that he actually stayed behind on Earth.
* Soundwave's presence on Cybertron is not inexplicable -- there's no reason he couldn't just fly there, and later have flown back to Earth before Cybertron was knocked out of its orbit. But it's a bit odd for him to have made the trip for no obvious reason or explanation.
* When we last saw Wheeljack's workshop in "Divide and Conquer", it was sealed by a computerized Decepticon lock. This time, the Autobots just drive right into it, no problem.
<!-- Isn't this clearly just Megs being stupidly short-sighted? * In the jungle, when the energon cubes are being loaded, Megatron says, "I want the slaves to work faster. Where is Dr. Arkeville?" But it was he who previously abandoned Arkeville at the power plant, and he had no way of knowing Starscream had rescued the doctor from drowning. -->

* Superhuman Spike:
** Survives being dropped from shoulder height by Shockwave.
** Can lift Optimus's giant metal rifle.
* Holy crap, how freaking stupid is Starscream? With a whole planet going crazy with energy sources all around him -- storms, earthquakes, volcanoes, tidal waves -- he makes the bizarre decision to try and suck energon out of a human's brain. He further decides to do this right under Megatron's nose. His attempts to convert Doctor Arkeville's neural energy into energon fail, of course; what this says about the intelligence of both scientists is debatable.
* As often happens, the Autobots' claim to be outnumbered is a bit dubious. There are 8 Autobots (Prime's surfer six, plus Mirage & Cliffjumper) against only Megatron, Thundercracker, Skywarp, Rumble, and a couple of Reflectors.
* Prime's comment to Prowl ("If we lose now, Cybertron's next orbit will tear the earth apart!") doesn't make much sense, and calls out the same total lack of strategy that the Autobots had in the last episode - namely, they aren't doing or planning anything to actually make Cybertron go away.
* Prime really does just kind of sit there and let Megatron run off into his spaceship.
* Did Spike and Prowl both hit on the idea of blowing up Megatron's ship, and just not actually say so? Or were they both hoping to shoot Cybertron out of its orbit?
* Wouldn't blowing up Megatron's ship be a good idea anyway? Why were they just letting him go?
* Megatron is able to survive an explosion which had enough energy to shift the orbit of Cybertron. Considering previous evidence of his durability, how he could survive a planet-moving blast is a mystery.
* Wouldn't a giant explosion just wreck both planets, rather than neatly pushing one of them away?
*And for that matter, if the explosion pushed Cybertron away, why wasn't Earth moved in the opposite direction?

* Wheeljack's place on Cybertron, previously seen in "Divide and Conquer", is shown again.
* A couple of Decepticon cars are shown in this episode, but it's not clear if they are Transformers. They seem to be similar to Jazz in Cybertronian vehicle mode.
* Gadgets and powers:
** Rather than the hydrofoils they were using just two episodes ago, the Autobots are now traveling the oceans on motor-powered surfboards.
** Both Prime and Ironhide have "early warning scanners" which can detect mountain-sized tidal waves just slightly over the horizon. Man, those aren't very effective scanners.
** Rumble can extend his optic visor to make it function like binoculars.
** Shockwave can light up his chest like a searchlight. It's not clear if this is meant to be some kind of force field holding Spike in place, or if Spike just stops due to some deer-in-the-headlights psychological effect.
** Megatron transforms and fires at Skyfire unassisted... which kinda puts the lie to all those sarcastic fan claims that his gun mode is oh-so-totally-useless without someone to fire him. Of course, he also does this in the show's title sequence, so it really shouldn't be such a surprise. (Granted, title sequences also give us things like flying Autobots and Insecticons swimming around in lava, so their relevance is debatable.)

Real-world references
* Star Wars sound effects:
** Millennium Falcon engine burst as Starscream grabs Dr. Arkeville and escapes from the island.
** TIE Fighter engine and some Falcon engine whine as Skywarp and Thundercracker strafe the Autobots.
** An igniting lightsaber serves as the sound of an energon cube being dropped by the freed slaves.
** Falcon engine whine as the Seekers depart the island.

Trivia
*This episode is subtitled "Revival" in scripts and other official materials.
*This episode, along with five others, can be unlocked in the PS3/Xbox 360 versions of the Revenge of the Fallen video game. For some unknown reason, this version of the episode makes use of the Generation 2 broadcast's audio, as the Cybernet Space Cube can be heard throughout without the Cube's visuals.
:Red Alert is an Autobot from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Red Alert is paranoid, which is not a bad trait in a Security Director if it's kept in check by reason, logic, and common sense. Red Alert is... not always so good with those other traits. The other Autobots appreciate his good intentions and eye for detail, but his ratio of false alarms to real emergencies is not always the greatest, and it makes them less likely to take him seriously when a threat is real. Inferno does his best to keep his good buddy Red out of trouble.
Generation 1
Events from the UK-only comic stories are in italics.
When the Autobot warrior Brawn went on a temporarily mad rampage, Red Alert leapt out from nowhere to deck Brawn with one punch, and then vanished into the night as if he had never been there. The Enemy Within!

Marvel UK Future Timelines
In 2009, Red Alert was one of the few Autobots available on Earth to help Kup and Arcee assault the new energy leech being constructed by the Decepticons. After destroying the work Soundwave and the Terrorcons had done, Red Alert and the others were immediately drafted by Rodimus Prime into leaping through the trans-time dimensional portal back to 1989. It seemed the extended time-jump of former Decepticon leader Galvatron was causing heavy stress on the timestream at both ends. 20 years in the past, Red Alert and his future Autobots joined forces with several different factions of Autobots and Decepticons on Earth to confront the menace of Galvatron and the resultant time storm. Red Alert took some flak from Galvatron's particle cannon during the battle, but ultimately the time storm was abated when Galvatron himself was cast into its maw, and the timestream restabilized itself. Red Alert, Rodimus and the other future Autobots then returned to their own time. Time Wars

Or did they? Upon returning to 2009, Red Alert and his comrades found Galvatron already there waiting for them. It seemed their actions in the past had reconstructed the timeline to such a degree that their present was now radically changed—Galvatron and his Decepticons now ruled Cybertron. The Autobots tried to adjust to these new events and created a token resistance movement on Cybertron, but it was soon crushed and they were chased off their home planet and back to Autobot City on Earth. During the trip, Red Alert was serving as chief bridge officer of their starship when the Autobots were assaulted with sabotage. The Void! (UK) While Kup and a security team attempted to ferret out the traitor, Red Alert did his level best to keep the Autobots from crashing into Earth uncontrollably at sub-light speeds. Battered and bruised, most of the Autobots survived thanks to Arcee's efforts to reactivate the retro-rockets at the last minute. Edge of Impact They still had to face the saboteur, however: an insane Rodimus Prime, corrupted from within by the essence of Unicron that he had unknowingly been carrying inside himself. On the ground, Red Alert joined Kup, Arcee, and the others in fighting their mad leader, until ultimately Rodimus fought off the evil within and regained his senses. White Fire
Generation 2
Grimlock planned a raid on Jhiaxus's ship Twilight against Optimus Prime's orders. Unfortunately, Jhiaxus was expecting this move and had Grimlock's troops surrounded. Red Alert attacked Jhiaxus anyhow, and was blown to pieces. Red Alert's death hinted to Grimlock that this may have been a bad idea. Devices and Desires! (Marvel)
Red Alert assisted Inferno when the Dinobots accidentally set Autobot headquarters on fire. He and Inferno later helped Prowl and Jazz corral some motorcycle rustlers who got transported into the future by a time warp. Dinobot Island, Part 1 Dinobot Island, Part 2

The Autobots were testing the powerful Negavator superweapon they had built in cooperation with the United States Military when the Decepticons attacked, intent on stealing the weapon. Optimus Prime ordered Red Alert and Inferno to stay inside and guard the bunker as the rest of the Autobots took the fight to the Decepticons. Inferno chafed to fight the Decepticons and left Red on his own despite the latter's pleas for him to stay. During the battle, Decepticon attacks caused the bunker to catch fire and become damaged (much to Grapple's dismay), knocking Red Alert on the head and burying him under rubble. Realizing what happened, Inferno and the other Autobots returned to rescue Red. Unfortunately, the blow to his head damaged Red's logic circuits, making him more paranoid than usual, and caused him to flee the other Autobots in fear that they would take him apart and use him for spare parts. He also became thoroughly convinced that his pal Inferno was after his job and so he escaped the Autobots. Red Alert's damage was such that if he was left untreated, his circuits would eventually explode, and so the Autobots immediately left to find him.

Meanwhile, Starscream (who had once again fallen out of favour with Megatron) used Red's paranoia to his own advantage by pretending to form a partnership with the Autobot, feeding his paranoid state, encouraging him to steal the Negavator and use it to destroy both the Autobots and Decepticons. With Red Alert's knowledge, the pair infiltrated the bunker and stole the Negavator, just in time for Megatron to seize the weapon and for Starscream to reveal his true cowardly ways. Fortunately, Inferno saved Red Alert from himself and his Decepticon 'allies'. Auto Berserk
Optimus Prime began to order Cosmos to transmit the data, but Red Alert overruled his commander, saying it was too risky as the Decepticons might monitor and intercept the transmission. After shooing the kitty-cat Chear off her partner Red Alert's hood, Officer Ai Kuruma received a call about a little boy who'd gotten lost on his way to the market. Ai (dreaming of a commendation for finding the boy) followed the sound of crying, only to find it was Chear again, up in a tree. She climbed up the tree to rescue it, but fell from the high branches... but Red Alert caught her and the cat in time.

The cat scampered off, and the pair followed him...and ran across the lost little boy. But then, Chear stole a fish from the boy's grocery bag. Red Alert was serving the Autobot cause in Iacon when Sentinel Prime was destroyed, and Optronix first rose to become Optimus Prime at the request of Council of Elders. He worked under Prime's command and later, after Optimus and Megatron disappeared through a Space Bridge portal and the Dark Ages began, become one of the Autobot soldiers serving in Prowl's faction. War Within: The Dark Ages

After the Great Shutdown, Red Alert was one of the first Autobots resurrected by the new alliance of Ultra Magnus and Shockwave, and was chosen to lead the united Cybertronians alongside Shockwave and an Autobot High Council. The council proved incapable of adequately leading on their own, though, and began gradually giving more and more power to Shockwave over time, until their role was as little more than figureheads. Ultimately, it took the arrival of Optimus Prime and the Ark's crew to galvanize the Autobot forces of Cybertron into realizing just how badly they'd been had by the Decepticons. Red Alert and the council finally joined in the insurrection and helped bring down Shockwave's empire. War and Peace
Unlike the one panel cameos of bots like Blitzwing or Kickback, however, Red Alert was shown as fully active and interacting with his fellow Autobots on Earth, only to be assertively stated as having always been on Cybertron in the next limited series.}}
: The first release in the Asterisk sub-line of Binaltech, Alert is a retool of the Binaltech Streak mold as a Subaru WRX STi Japanese Police vehicle, a scheme that many fans expected for a Binaltech/Alternators Prowl (see Trivia below). Although not a Fire Department vehicle this time, the toy's robot mode did feature many red highlights, including a red head, but as the headsculpt was unchanged, he still looked like Streak. BTA Alert was packaged with the PVC human figurine Ai Kuruma, a policewoman based on Robots in Disguise T-AI.

: Alert's release had problems with parts-fitting in vehicle mode, possibly a sign that the Subaru WRX tooling was showing its age. The later release of this mold as Ricochet in the Alternators line, though, does not have these problems.
His vehicle mode features a Japanese-style lightbar, attached to the holes on the roof that would have fitted Sunstreaker and Sideswipe's turbochargers. Like all Henkei toys, he features vacuum metalized plastic, including his shoulder rocket launcher and his spoiler.

Notes
* Voice actor Michael Chain has stated that he based his characterization of Red Alert on former U.S. President Richard Nixon, a man so incredibly paranoid that he kept secret audio recordings of himself.

* Red Alert appeared in one of five original Generation 1 public service announcements. After nearly mowing down a pair of kids on bikes, Red Alert scolded them and told them to never ride at night without reflectors. However, Red Alert was shown driving at night without his headlights on, so that probably didn't help.

* Although the first year of the Transformers line in Japan consisted of both 1984 and 1985 toys, Red Alert just managed to pip most of the U.S. 1985 range to the post by being released in tandem with Sideswipe as one of the initial releases. Early TV Magazine art ostensibly featuring the Season One cast even specifically includes Red Alert among the 1984 Autobots.

* Red Alert's character model is, for the most part, more toy accurate than Sideswipe's, as the '85 characters tended to be. The big change is that instead of a windshield on his back (like Sideswipe), Red Alert has the top of his trunk (including spoiler!).

* According to a story page in the October 1985 issue of TV Magazine, Red Alert and Sideswipe are brothers, with Sideswipe being slightly older than Red Alert. This connection may have been invented because, aside from Sideswipe and Red Alert sharing the same mold, Sunstreaker was not sold on the Japanese market outside of a special "versus" set with Skids and Buzzsaw. However, the familial dynamic between Sideswipe and Sunstreaker was not changed in the Japanese dub of the original Transformers cartoon, leading some Japanese fans to consider the three Lamborghini characters as triplets.

*Headmaster Siren was originally conceived as either an upgrade or homage to Red Alert. While the robot mode was largely blue unlike Red Alert, it featured a similar head to the early Autobot. The car mode, on the other hand, featured a near carbon copy of Red Alert's paint scheme. The Red Alert references were dropped early in the design process.

* In the Dreamwave Generation 1 comics, when showing the panel through the eyes of many Cybertronians, Autobot and Decepticon alike, twisted text along the side of the shot, oftentimes reversed or flipped around, would read "The More Than Meets The Eye Transformer Red Alert". While other messages were often used, sometimes as Easter Eggs, this was the most popular. The Girl Scouts must have been planning this for years.

* The color schemes for Universe Inferno and Spy Changer Prowl are clearly based on Red Alert's Generation 1 look. Inferno in particular caused a great deal of fan confusion when first released; here was a toy named Inferno, decorated like Red Alert, released alongside a toy named Ratchet, decorated like Inferno. Hasbro design director Aaron Archer (in his online "Orson" persona) disclosed that this was the result of a mistake in the naming process.

* The Acura RSX Alternators Prowl toy was originally supposed to be Red Alert, with a different head sculpt. Eventually, however, it was decided to release the toy as Prowl instead, even though the Subaru Impreza model had more resemblance to Prowl and the Acura RSX model had more resemblance to Red Alert. Control drawings of the figure with the originally intended Red Alert head sculpt can be found in the Japanese Transformers Collection 2007 book, among other places. Reprolabels later made sticker sheets that, together with a head swap (which can be done with ease) allow you to convert the Subaru into Prowl and the Acura into Red Alert, making them resemble their original forms much more closely.
* Make a joke and he will sigh and you will laugh and he will cry.
The Revenge of the Fallen Wii and PS2 games are considerably different than the X-Box 360 and PS3 versions, even using different gameplay. It was developed by Krome Studios, and shares a few developers with the earlier Armada-based game, Krome having acquired Melbourne House, the company that developed the Armada game, in 2006. . Also, it is known for being panned by critics because of not much transforming, linear levels and repetive gameplay.

Story
With Megatron destroyed, Optimus Prime and the Autobots have begun fighting off the remaining Decepticons. However, Starscream and his master are not going down without a fight...

In space, an innocent satellite is just floating around, but a mysterious, alien satellite docks with it. Quickly, Soundwave locates a NEST convoy, and orders Sideways and Demolishor to intercept. Sideways steals the convoy's cargo, while Demolishor causes destruction.

Chapter 1: Optimus Invades

Meanwhile, the Decepticons have taken control of a NEST gun and are firing at planes. Two Autobot fighter jets go down, but before the large transport plane explodes, Optimus Prime leaps out. As he falls toward Shanghai, Decepticon Long-range warriors intercept. While Optimus is firing at them with his light weapons, the NEST gun continues firing at him. And on top of all that, ground based Decepticons are firing huge missiles. When Prime defeats the warriors, a Long-range lieutenant takes him on. When he defeats the lieutenant, three more warriors come at him. He cuts one in half, and quickly dispatches of the other two. He then lands and orders the Autobots to report. Bumblebee is chasing Sideways, and Ironhide is on Demolishor's tail.

Chapter 2: Ironhide vs. Demolishor

Ironhide blows up and smashes his way through numerous Decepticon drones, eventually jumping between walls onto a rooftop and winning a shootout with Decepticon long range warriors. Ironhide jumps off the building onto the street, toppling a tower crane with his light weapon as Demolishor is under it. This knocks Demolishor into a pit, where he appears to be digging for something. Ironhide takes out Demolishor's top wheel and finally kills the larger Decepticon with three punches to the head.

Chapter 3: Pursuit Over Shanghai

Bumblebee transforms and calls for assistance, warning that he's found Sideways. As he runs through the city streets, several Decepticon soldiers swoop down and open fire. Returning fire, Bumblebee ducks behind a bus, which explodes. As he continues, Bumblebee finds that Sideways is on top of the taller buildings of the city. Leaping from wall to wall, Bumblebee reaches the top of a tower and dispatches two more Air Warriors. As he continues atop the buildings, Bumblebee blasts any Decepticon in his way and finally reaches Sideways...

Chapter 4: Sideways Goes to Ground

...who calls Soundwave, asking for a little help. Bumblebee replies that Sideways will need a lot of help, as he is close enough to hear the Decepticon's whining transmission. Sideways transforms into his alternate form and races through Shanghai's busy streets. As he is about to escape from Bumblebee, Sideways is intercepted by a fire truck, which transforms into an Autobot warrior. Transforming into robot form, Sideways returns fire and ends the miserable Autobot's life. As more Autobots intercept Sideways, waves of Decepticons assault the Autobots. Soundwave has sent backup. Inches from Sideways, Bumblebee transforms...and Sideways is carried away by Starscream. Growling, Bumblebee turns to Optimus and apologizes, saying that they got away...
stub

Chapter 5: Starscream Strikes

Starscream launches attacks on aircraft carriers, deployed to destroy generators powering the shields that defend the main platform tower of NEST that conserves the crushed Decepticon leader Megatron. Air Warriors attack Starscream, forcing them to flee or he will destroy them. Then Starscream blows up the generators allowing Sideways to enter.

Chapter 6: From the Depths

Sideways enters the platform, deployed to enter and destroy power generators. Three Blazemasters dispatched to be defeated. However, Megatron is reactivated.

Chapter 7: The Devastator

Megatron sents Devastator to Shanghai causing destruction. NEST Team orders Optimus, Bumblebee and Ironhide to stop Devastator before he can cause much destruction. Optimus swings through, defeating every drone that comes his way. Bumblebee contacts Optimus to backup, but then Starscream (damn it!) takes the little Autobot forcing Optimus to attack Devastator. Then Devastator launches Optimus to the bridge, destroyed by Demolishor with Ironhide telling Prime to use the pillars to destroy Devastator's missile launchers. Then Optimus finally attacks Devastator with two energy canisters sent by NEST. Optimus makes Devastator to swallow the energy dock's power and finally destroys him (Ouch!) Then Optimus finds a piece of Cybertronian Technology that Devastator unearth! Optimus and the other Autobots have the mission to find Bumblebee.
Notes
* You are unable to transform in robot missions, but able to transform in driving missions, and can jump from wall to wall. Sounds kind of familiar.
* The ranged Warriors look a lot like Breakaway, but they are blue.
* While on the first game, cars (and humans) seemed nearly invincible until you shot them, in this game, if you so much as step on a car, it explodes.
* Jetfire can beat the snot out of Decepticons by stepping on them!

Differences with the Movie
Krome was clearly writing the game on a different planet than the Movie's script.

* Sideways doesn't die in Shanghai.
* Ironhide, rather than Optimus, kills Demolishor.
* Instead of the forest, Megatron wounds Optimus in the Decepticon base.
* Optimus does not die, but is damaged.
* The Fallen appears to be in total command of the Decepticons even before Megatron revives, as he is the one calling the shots.
* Sam and Mikaela aren't in the game, except for a brief phone conversation with Optimus, and even then, it is only their voices.
* Optimus kills The Fallen by putting him in front of the Star Harvester's beam.
* The battle with Devastator happens in the first battle. While Optimus, Ironhide, and Bumblebee are cleaning up in Shanghai, Devastator appears out of nowhere and attacks.
* Also, Optimus Prime, rather than a railgun, kills Devastator.
* Instead of looking for the Matrix, The Fallen looks for pieces of the Harvester, saying he already has the Matrix. We...probably don't want to know what that means.
* Instead of being trapped in the Smithsonian, Jetfire is in the Decepticon base.
