The term "Dark side of the moon" was a misnomer even before Transformers got hold of it. The dark side of the moon refers to the side of the moon that always faces away from Earth. It has been noted that on the way to the MOON in the historical intro to the movie Apollo is seen without the Lunar Excursion Module. I have been looking around the internet about Transformers 3, and everywhere says that Megatron is returning for Transformers 3 as a Mack Titan Tanker Truck, I know that Michael Bay hasen't released any news yet on any Decepticons apart from Shockwave, but if Hasbro didn't release the pictures of the Megatron tanker truck toy, how the hell did they get on the internet, even Leader Class Ironhide pictures are around. Does anyone think that megatron should be added to the Decepticons?

Here's what I'mma say on the subject of these generics.
*Brawl and Sideways - they're dead. Can't be them.
*Long Haul and Scrapper - Constructicons share body types. There are multiple iterations of each, and the DOTM appearance of these two should just be on the existing pages. Frankly, I've thought for a while the Constructicon pages could stand a bit of reworking to be about the body-types, rather than the individuals where applicable.
*Scalpel - he didn't die in ROTF. Sure, he died in the comic adaptation, but then, Barricade died in the TF1 adaptation, and Dino died instead of Que in the DOTM adaptation. So there's no saying with ''any'' certainty that Scalpel is dead, and one of those little guys could absolutely be him. I've heard around that throughout the movie, a number of Decepticons are shown with vehicle modes and all, not just drones. For example, there's a 'Con that turns into a military Stryker with a robot-mode that looks like the Cloverfield monster, a random polic car (not Barricade, all white) and one that turns into a garbage truck, but it's robot looks like Long Haul. Did anyone else catch these Cannonfodder/Deadguy Decepticons? If so, do you have any pictures?

I recently watched this again and this scene stuck out. After they drop their weapons, one of them draws out the spears and the standoff ends. Sideswipe does a flip kick and then yells, "Ironhide, catch!" as he kicks over his gun to him. I don't have permission to make changes though.

Shortly after the Mexican Standoff scene, when Lennox tells Ironhide to guard Sentinel, he is seen transforming from his vehicle mode. He was already in robot mode just seconds before, while fighting the Dreads. [[Blurrzicon]]

I had a look through the Chicago scenes to see if I would work out which of Epps's squad was which by comparing them with their IMDB pictures. [[Hooch]] is pretty easy to spot because there are pictures of the actor in the role on IMDB. Josh Kelly as [[Stone]] likewise, though he doesn't have any TF3 images on his IMDB profile. I think [[Marc L]] is the fellow waiting with Hooch at the start in the "RANGERS" shirt, and later can be seen wearing a light-coloured cap. Assuming the named characters are the ones with dialogue, I guess that means that the guy with the backwards cap who points out they only have one rocket is [[Mongo (ROTF)|Mongo]] (Aaron Garrido, who has no photos at all on his IMDB article). == Destroying Cybertron ==

It seems strange that the Autobots are ''trying'' to destroy Cybertron. It's apparent that it's proximity to earth has no effect, since we see no floating chunks of rock or cracks in the ground. also, the Autobots had the options of forcing Sentinel to return it, or just leave it as is and kill the Decepticons, because they're the threat, not Cybertron. Megs and Sentinel evidently didn't surrender once it was gone. on that note, how is shutting off the control Pillar different than destroying it? the bridge closes either way, so why did Cybertron collapse when the pillar was destroyed? still fun to think that there's a half of a giant metal honeycomb planet floating around somewhere out there.

== Quibble about an error ==

"It's said that four Autobots were captured by the Decepticons in Chicago, but actually five Autobots were captured."

Now, I'll declare my bias as "Gay for Bay" here and now, but to me this wasn't necessarily an error. We have the NEST types looking at their monitors and saying "four Autobots captured", with that little shot on the monitor. Then a few seconds later we ge the shot of Ratchet being herded towards an already-subdued quartet of Autobots. I read this as the four "car" Autobots being captured and noted by the NEST techie, then Ratchet is captured very soon afterwards bringing us up to five to be ineptly menaced by Soundwave and Barricade.

There are lots of problems with that whole sequence that might not exactly be continuity errors but are pretty inconsistent - how exactly are five Autobots captured basically unharmed in the most brutal TF universe to date?; why do they seem to be making next to no attempt to escape?; is Sentinel addressing them or what?; why does Soundwave need Dylan's prompting to begin executions (the way it's played Soundwave has no moral problem with the idea of killing prisoners, it just looks like he hasn't thought of it) - and point to it being a ham-fisted way of placing the Autobots (especially Bumblebee) in peril on first viewing when all bets are off after Ironhide's death, I didn't find the numeration to be contradictory. Confusing, but not contradictory.

One thing that does bother me, though, is Crankcase knocking over the sign in the highway battle. I'm open to correction and/or ridicule here, but surely there's no way the sign should fall that way (the ramp should be facing against the other two Dreads), and when they hit the thing there seems to be a lot of mass under there that shouldn't be on the back of a road sign anyway.

I can't spot Ratchet in there at all; he's shown around the 2:07:00 mark as Sam and Carly run across to the burnt-out car; Bee and Dino at least can be seen very much under restraint unlike Ratchet.

I'm not sure whether this is worth a mention or not, but my kid has a DotM colouring book, and there's a two-page spread of Ironhide, Skids and Mudflap, listed as 'the brave Autobots who lost their fights with Sentinel Prime'. Anyone think this might have been their planned fates before they were cut from the movie?

An acronym sometimes bandied about by fans, '''FIRRIB''' means "[[Frenzy (G1)|Frenzy]] is red, [[Rumble (G1)|Rumble]] is blue". The phrase originated on [[alt.toys.transformers]] circa 1994, essentially as a (largely joking) rallying cry for those who favored [[The Transformers (cartoon)|the original cartoon]] over various other media portrayals of the Transformers. In time, the counterpoint '''FIBRIR''' emerged, standing for "Frenzy is blue, Rumble is red". The forms RIBFIR and RIRFIB are also known.

The debate revolves around the colors of the [[Decepticon]] [[Mini-Cassette]]s, Rumble and Frenzy. It was [[Hasbro]]'s intent that Rumble be black and red, and Frenzy be two shades of blue. These color schemes are used in the toyline, [[Marvel Comics]] and many storybooks and ancillary media from the early years of [[Generation 1 (franchise)|Generation 1]], and naturally, it was intended for the [[The Transformers (cartoon)|cartoon series]] to render the characters in this manner as well (as proven by the show's [[production bible]], which identifies Rumble as the "red robot"). However, as a result of some unspecified error somewhere in production, the two robots had their color schemes swapped, leaving the animated incarnation of Rumble blue, and Frenzy red.

Due to the widespread recognition the cartoon received, the concept of Rumble as the blue robot was ingrained into the minds of many viewers. As such, years later, [[Fandom|fans]] would argue vehemently (though often tongue-in-cheek) over which coloration was "correct", based mainly on their personal preference for the cartoon or comic.

The Japanese dub of the Generation 1 cartoon rectified the error, making the animation match the toys by simply switching the characters' names around.

It is generally agreed that pointing out Rumble was actually kinda purple in the original cartoon is not helpful (particularly since he still has blue in the places where Frenzy has red). Nor is pointing out the fact that for a brief moment in the movie (when Rumble, Frenzy, [[Ratbat (G1)|Ratbat]], and [[Ravage (G1)|Ravage]] jam [[Blaster (G1)|Blaster]]'s transmission) ''both'' of them were red. Or that the Marvel US coloring had Rumble as red ''and blue''. Or that the ''[[Generation 2 (toyline)|Generation 2]]'' [[Go-Bot (G2)|Go-Bot]] [[Frenzy (G1)#Generation_2_2|version]] of Frenzy was purple, and the planned corresponding Rumble was to be both red and blue.

==Similar cases==
While the coloration of Frenzy and Rumble is the most well-known instance of the original cartoon's color choices not matching the [[toy]]s its [[character]]s are based on, there are similar cases, some of which have also resulted in fan dissent regarding the question which is to be considered the "correct" coloration for the character in question:
* [[Red Alert (G1)|Red Alert's]] toy sported a black head, but possibly in order to differentiate him further from his [[mold]]-mate [[Sideswipe (G1)|Sideswipe]], the cartoon changed the head's color to red. His comic appearances usually use the toy's black head, while new toys are a mixed bag ([[TakaraTomy]] leans more towards a [[show-accuracy|cartoon-accurate]] red head, while [[Hasbro]] appears to prefer the original toy's black head). Thus far, however, none of Takara's [[Generation 1 reissues|reissues]] of the original toy have featured a show-accurate red head.
* [[Grapple]]'s original toy sported a black head, but the cartoon changed it to orange, possibly to differentiate him further from his mold-mate [[Inferno (G1)|Inferno]]. The episode "[[Auto Berserk]]", however, consistently gave him a (mostly) toy-accurate black head. The [[The Transformers (Marvel comic)|Marvel comics]] once again followed the toy's coloration.
*[[Bluestreak (G1)|Bluestreak]] is a huge mess: While early catalogs depicted him in a blue and silver deco based on his original [[Diaclone]] colors, which is also used for the [[instructions]] and the toy's [[package art]], the toy itself sports an entirely silver deco for the vehicle mode. The cartoon, on the other hand, gave him a silver and black vehicle mode deco based on ''another'' Diaclone color scheme. Later toys have alternatively used variations of any of the three color schemes, although only Takara have thus far released a reissue of the original toy in "show colors" through [[e-Hobby]], and there has been no reissue in the "blue" Diaclone deco at all yet.
*Then there's the thing with [[Astrotrain (G1)|Astrotrain]]'s [[character model|animation model]] using the colors of an early [[prototype]] (as shown in early [[stock photography|catalogs]]), while the actual toy sports an entirely different deco... and Takara released a variation of the toy in yet ''another'' different deco. Takara later released a reissue of the original toy in a color scheme resembling (but not identical to) the prototype through e-Hobby, while other toys by Hasbro and Takara have been alternatively based on any of the three decos.
