When Arcee takes Jack on a routine mission, Airachnid turns up, putting him in danger.

Synopsis
A mysterious object streaks through the Solar System and crashes in a remote part of the northern US. Trudging through the forest nearby are Arcee and Jack Darby, out searching for an underground energon deposit that Ratchet has detected. Jack complains about the mosquitoes, but Arcee picks up some strange readings and they quickly come upon the crashed spaceship. Telling an increasingly unnerved Jack to stay where he is, Arcee moves in closer to examine it, and suffers a flashback containing a menacing figure as she realizes whose ship it is. She attempts in vain to contact base to request a GroundBridge. Leaving Jack by the ship, Arcee walks out into the trees to find a trail left by her mystery assailant, and again flashes back to a past time when she had been captured. Jack interrupts her, and she transforms before driving them both at high speed through the trees for a distance. When she still can't contact base, she drops Jack off on the other side of a deep crevasse and heads back. Jack starts climbing down the side of the crevasse. Arcee, scouting among the trees, finds a tree stump covered in an acidic compound, and has another flashback.

On Cybertron, Arcee runs through ruined buildings while radioing Delta Team for backup. She trades banter with her partner Tailgate before asking directions, but before she can complete her next sentence, she's stuck to a nearby wall by a glob of webbing. She finds herself chained up, a prisoner of Airachnid, who scratches her face with a talon.

Elsewhere, Airachnid moves in on an unsuspecting camper in a tent. As she jumps to strike, she's tackled by Arcee and the pair roll downhill to a clearing. Amused to be reunited with the Autobot after all this time, Airachnid reveals her new hobby: collecting the heads of endangered species, though most of them weren't endangered until she got to them, and she has her sights set on a human for her next trophy. Enraged, Arcee begins fighting her, but Jack arrives, distracting Arcee long enough for Airachnid to web her to a nearby rock. Arcee cuts her arm free and zaps Airachnid before informing Jack that he's more a liability than a partner. Jack responds that he can tell she's afraid, and she flashes back again.

Finding Arcee a tough nut to crack, Airachnid has a coupld of Vehicons drag in Tailgate. Arcee, however much she wants to save her partner, doesn't know the attack coordinates, and Airachnid slays Tailgate.

Airachnid recovers from being shot, and says she's heard about Cliffjumper's fate and asks Arcee if she has a problem with losing partners. As Jack flees, Airachnid promises to finish Arcee later, then begins pursuing the boy. Arcee flashes back once more.

As Airachnid moves in on her prisoner once again, Bumblebee and Cliffjumper burst in to execute a dramatic rescue. Though Airachnid escapes, they cut down Arcee and carry her out as she laments that she couldn't save Tailgate.

Arcee begins trying to escape from the webbing she's been trapped in. Meanwhile, Jack ducks behind a fallen tree in an attempt to evade Airachnid, but she easily finds him. He continues running, scaling the sides of the crevasse again. He pauses behind a tree to look at his pocket knife before realizing it won't be much use against a Transformer. Eventually he reaches Airachnid's ship and hides against it as she searches around. While clambering around it, he find a puddle of energon, leaking from a port on the underside of the ship. Grabbing a nearby stick, he uses his pocket knife to set fire to it, and throws it into the leaking port. Airachnid, now standing on top of the ship, yells his name as the ship explodes.

Jack is thrown clear, but just as he's beginning to relax, a still-burning Airachnid pins him to a nearby tree with webbing. She moves in, but Arcee comes barrelling through the trees and beats her with feet and fists, until Airachnid is knocked through a bunch of trees. Arcee cuts down Jack, but then they hear the sound of drilling, and find Airachnid has burrowed into the ground and is gone. Arcee says she admires Jack's bravery, and as she radios base for a GroundBridge, calls him her partner.
"I may not have stinger proof metal skin, Arcee, but in a pinch I can use my multi-function pocket knife and magnesium fire starter to cook up some freeze-dried Mac and Cheese."
:—Jack tries to impress Arcee with delicious cheesiness.
Animation or technical errors
Transformers references
Foreign dubbing
Real-world references
*This episode contains four or five possible references to the Predator franchise: Airachnid's ship entering Earth's atmosphere resembles the opening scene of Predator, Airachnid coming to Earth with the sole purpose of hunting humans, Airachnid's trophy case of heads (a similar one is seen in Predator 2) and the scene where Jack uses a personally made flaming "arrow" to ignite Energon, a similar tactic was used by Arnold Schwarzenegger's character Dutch in the first Predator film. The title Predatory may also be just as much a reference to Predator as it is to Predacons.
*Jack hiding from Airachnid under the fallen tree is a visual reference to The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring when the main Hobbits are hiding from the Ringwraiths in a similar manner. Unfortunately for Jack, he doesn't fare quite as well.

Trivia
*This is the first episode not to feature Optimus, Bulkhead, Raf or Miko.
* Arcee, Cliffjumper, and Bumblebee didn't have different robot bodies on Cybertron, retaining all of their Earth vehicle-specific kibble long before reaching Earth. This seems to be intentional.

*This episode contains three or four possible references to the Predator franchise: Airachnid coming to Earth with the sole purpose of hunting humans, Airachnid's trophy case of heads (a similar one is seen in Predator 2) and the scene where Jack uses a personally made flaming "arrow" to ignite Energon, a similar tactic was used by Arnold Schwarzenegger's character Dutch in the first Predator film. The title Predatory may also be just as much a reference to Predator as it is to Predacons.
Knock Out and Jack are both drawn into the world of street racing.

Synopsis
Cruising along a road at night, Knock Out listens on on a news report about illegal street racing. Switching it off, he pulls up alongside three other cars waiting to race. The driver of one decides to put a long scratch in Knock Out's paintwork, rousing the Decepticon's ire. After the race starts, Knock Out runs the other driver off the mountain road, informing the stunned human "You scratch my paint, I scratch yours", before racing off.

Outside the high school, Jack encounters school bully Vince, who mocks Arcee's vehicle mode. Jack and Arcee leave, but while stopped at some lights, Jack's called out to by Sierra, who's keen on a ride. Before Jack can answer, Vince pulls up and challenges him to a race. Jack's still thinking about it when the light changes and Arcee takes off, reminding Jack of the rules about abusing their power. Vince catches up with them at the next lights, and insults Arcee's motorcycle mode, resulting in her deciding to suspend the rules, just this once. The pair let Vince know they're ready for the race, and Sierra and her friend turn out at an old dirt road to spectate. Arcee's driving abilities far outstrip Vince's, and they win easily, but Arcee turns down Jack's suggestion that they should offer Sierra a lift.

On the Nemesis, Breakdown is buffing the comatose Megatron. Starscream wanders in to check on the patient, and wonders aloud where Knock Out's got to. The 'Con himself walks in a few moments later, complaining about the scratch some "skinjob" put in his finish. Starscream is most disapproving that Knock Out's been street racing again, and is even more peeved at Knock Out's failure -and glib refusal- to refer to Starscream as "Lord".

Back at base, Arcee reminds Jack not to tell anyone about the race, but it turns out Miko and Raf already know, having heard about it at school. Jack swears them to secrecy.

At school, Sierra tells Jack she was impressed with the outcome of the race, but Vince challenges Jack to race again, at the circuit. Jack's compelled to agree, but Arcee flatly refuses to race.

Knock Out is out cruising a road somewhere near Jasper, when a speeding street racer car gets his attention, and he heads toward the town.

Jack asks Raf if he can borrow Bumblebee so he can go street racing. Raf isn't so sure (much to Bumblebee's dismay), but Miko and Jack talk him into it. Jack and Bumblebee haul up at the race track, as does Knock Out. As the race begins and Bumblebee and Vince jostle for lead position, Knock Out recognizes Bumblebee and begins chasing the Autobot while firing. Jack finds he has problems overcoming the communications barrier.

Back at base, Miko and Raf are playing a video game when Arcee asks them if they've seen Jack. They attempt to cover for their friend, but Arcee immediately works out what's up, and a short time later Bumblebee's distress call comes though.

Bumblebee dumps some oil to slow Knock Out down, then ducks under a bridge. At first it seems they've lost the Decepticon, but Vince hauls in to confront Jack and demand he finish the race. Jack tries to warn Vince of the danger, but Vince's headlights have attracted Knock Out, who grabs the boy and, rendering him unconscious, drives off. Knock Out contacts Breakdown to announce he's captured Bumblebee's human friend. Arcee and Bulkhead join Bumblebee, but before Arcee can start a lecture, Jack tells her about Vince, and they head off to mount a rescue.

Optimus Prime walks into the base and wonders where everyone else is. Raf and Miko give him the least convincing replies ever.

The three Autobots track Knock Out to a warehouse area and Bulkhead and Bumblebee stroll in while Arcee scales a nearby water tower. Bulkhead and Bumblebee are ambushed by Breakdown. Just as Knock Out is wondering where Arcee is, she jumps on top of him. Knock Out decides to bail, but at least has the courtesy to radio Breakdown and let him know. Unfortunately the call distracts Breakdown long enough for Bulkhead to deck him with a street lamp. Knock Out streaks down a road with Arcee in pursuit, but is suddenly sideswiped by Optimus, knocking him onto the embankment. With the 'Con unable to flee, Optimus rips his door off and retrieves the unconscious Vince. Knock Out is outraged at the damage done to him, but retreats when the rest of the Autobots arrive.

Vince finally recovers in Bumblebee on the way back to his car, and Jack spins a story to cover the whole thing.

Starscream is very upset with Knock Out's antics, and gives him some more scratches.

At school again, Sierra asks Jack for a ride, but he turns her down. Arcee, however, is feeling more accommodating, and soon Jack and Sierra are zooming through town.

Vince finally recovers in Bumblebee on the way back to his car, and Jack spins a story to cover the whole thing.

Notes
Animation or technical errors
Sierra has an oddly wandering eye in one scene, perhaps the poor girl just has a really bad case of astigmatism.

Continuity errors
*Vince challenges Jack to a race on a "dirt road", but the road they race on is sealed and marked.
*Jack's first race with Vince takes place after school, and Jack and Arcee presumably go to the Autobot base afterwards. Somehow Miko and Raf, who're already at the base, heard about Jack's victory at school.

Transformers references
* Vince's Car look a bit familliar.

Foreign dubbing
Real-world references
Trivia
* This is the first episode to premiere on a Saturday.
* This is the first episode not to include Ratchet.
* This is not the first episode of a Transformers cartoon to teach a lesson about street racing.
* Bulkhead once again decides to forgo saving someone out of simple dislike. What a jerk!
