Galvatron and his followers are confronted by Arcee and Hardhead, but a much greater threat from within the Dead Universe soon makes itself known...

Synopsis
In the caverns of Gorlam Prime, Galvatron lays damaged from Arcee and Hardhead's blasts. Jhiaxus begs the others to keep Arcee away from him while Hardhead beats back Cyclonus and Scourge. When Arcee destroys Jhiaxus' hand, the dazed Galvatron takes notice of his falling soldiers and reaches for the portal, desperate to absorb some of the energy from the Dead Universe. Harnessing its power, Galvatron arises and unleashes a massive blast at the two Autobots. Using the power of the Heart of Darkness, he zaps Hardhead with a terrible energy. Arcee flees at Hardhead's urging to warn the Autobots of Galvatron's power. Cyclonus and Scourge chase after her, following her through the corridors of an ancient civilization - but when they radio back to Galvatron about what they've found, he tells them to deal with Arcee and they'll investigate later. Cyclonus blasts Arcee off a ledge into an abyss.

Galvatron and Jhiaxus ensnare Hardhead in energy bonds and torture him for information. Galvatron taps into the Heart of Darkness to access and project Hardhead's memories. He witnesses Hardhead's memories of the entire population of Gorlam Prime mindlessly marching into the underground lake portal and how Arcee too eventually fell to its lure, only held back by Hardhead's grip. After hours of watching this spectacle, there was a sudden flash of light and the pool had morphed into the floating sphere which now hovered before them. Galvatron questions Hardhead how he could have resisted the lake's powers, but Hardhead does not know; Galvatron speculates that it is due to Hardhead's exposure to the Dead Universe. Using his powers, Galvatron takes over Hardhead's mind and walks into the sphere, telling his troops to get him if he's not back in an hour.

Inside the portal, Galvatron is exposed to a sea of bizarre images - flaming skulls, pyramids of light, alternate universes. Drawn to the very center of the Dead Universe, he is stripped to his endoskeleton and finds the scattered corpses of the dead inhabitants of Gorlam Prime. He hears the chanting of ungodly voices, demanding that "D-Void" be fed. Sensing the unique energy of the Heart of Darkness, the demonic entity at the center of the Dead Universe thrusts its tendrils through his body. Galvatron has an epiphany - the Heart of Darkness has empowered him to fight this being, D-Void, and protect the physical universe against it. By sheer willpower he breaks free of D-Void's hold and pushes through to Gorlam Prime, firing madly at the portal. With his blasts he collapses the chamber; when Cyclonus wonders what is going on, Galvatron declares that D-Void feeds on sparks and consumed the population of Gorlam Prime to wake himself up. Galvatron surmises that D-Void will head for Cybertron and proclaims that an army must be raised to fend off the evil being.

Meanwhile, Arcee crawls from her pit, vowing to warn the Autobots that Galvatron's insanity will destroy them all...
* The Galvatron of the IDW Generation 1 universe was never Megatron, so the inclusion of Megatrons among his alternate-universe visages is curious. Presumably they all represent Megatrons who became Galvatrons in their own universes, thus still qualifying as incarnations of this Galvatron. This is most significant for the Beast Wars alligator Megatron: Not only does his appearance cement the idea hinted at in early media that he is actually Generation 1 Megatron, but it also implies an event in the future of that media.
Galvatron and his followers are confronted by Arcee and Hardhead, but a much greater threat from within the Dead Universe soon makes itself known...

Synopsis
issuestub
Cyclonus and Scourge chase after her, following her through the corridors of an ancient civilization of Gorlam Prime - but when they radio back to Galvatron about what they've found, he tells them to deal with Arcee and they'll investigate later.

The Autobots attack the weaponized Kimia Facility, which Galvatron is utilizing for unexpected purposes.

Synopsis
The Autobots take cover from Kimia as it prepares to fire, only to notice that the space station moves past them to another area - the planet itself is the target! Optimus Prime begins doling out orders to his crew - Silverbolt and the other flyers are sent upwards to fight Kimia, Sunstreaker and Drift are given the task of setting of a base of operations, Cliffjumper and Wheelie are sent ahead as scouts (much to Cliffjumper's chagrin), and Ironhide is ordered to begin emptying Omega Supreme. Rodimus volunteers to go into space on Omega after he is unloaded to establish a command post in orbit and monitor Galvatron's movements; he takes Trailbreaker with him.

The battle with the Sweeps rages in orbit as the Autobots try to hit Kimia. On the ground, Cliffjumper and Wheelie hide in an abandoned building to scout but Wheelie snipes a Sweep, alerting Galvatron to their position. Prime orders his troops to roll out and they start plowing through Sweeps on the surface.

Aboard Kimia, Afterburner asks Lightspeed where they are, as he's never been in the station while it was transformed. Lightspeed informs him that they're in a power generator when they notice Kimia's massive cannon powering up. It fires on Cybertron, blowing a massive hole through the surface. Trailbreaker is knocked out
trying - and failing - to block the beam with his force field; Rodimus radios to Optimus that they have no choice but to destroy Kimia, though there might still be Autobots inside. Lightspeed and Rodimus both independently decide to take matters into their own hands. While Rodimus steers Omega to crash it into Kimia, Lightspeed sets off explosives inside. Kimia explodes, with Omega Supreme safely passing through the blast. Seeing the station destroyed, Galvatron howls in anger and orders Jhiaxus to head off with him.

Sunstreaker gives Rodimus landing coordinates and meets up with him. While Sunstreaker boards Omega to treat Trailbreaker, Rodimus and Drift go after Prime and Ironhide, who chased after Galvatron to the blast crater. Prime tells Ironhide that he can feel through the Matrix that there is something happening within Galvatron.

Megatron, still bound, asks Omega Supreme to tell him what's going on outside. Omega refuses and Megatron merely laughs, telling him that he'll find out himself. The Megatron guns transform into drones and march to Megatron's holding cell, where they free him and begin latching onto him.

Cliffjumper and Wheelie, pinned down, call for help but get no response - until someone blasts through a horde of Sweeps attacking them. The two Autobots look up and see Megatron, clad in new armor, vowing that Cybertron belongs to him.
Notes
*Wheelie attempting to snipe Galvatron against Cliffjumper's protests is seemingly a nod to "More than Meets the Eye, Part 1", in which Cliffjumper does the same to Megatron with Hound doing the protesting.
*Several "lamp posts" akin to the one Soundwave transforms into in "More than Meets the Eye, Part 1" line a road on Cybertron.
*As has been the case since they reappeared in Infestation, Galvatron and his troops are referred to as Decepticons, despite them having left Cybertron prior to factions emerging and the war starting.
*Lightspeed and Afterburner must be pretty badass to have survived against (and even held off) an entire ARMY of Sweeps with nothing more then a few blasters and some experimental guns. This is even more impressive when one considers how easily the Sweeps slaughtered almost everyone else in Kimia last issue.

Errors
*Afterburner is called Nosecone. Or it's really supposed to be Nosecone but he was accidentally drawn as Afterburner.
*On page 19, Kimia is called Kimin.
