Things continue to go downhill for the Autobots, as Megatron holds Ultra Magnus hostage.

Synopsis
Trapped underwater in Optimus Prime's trailer, Spike is unconvinced about the Autobot's supposed ability to manufacture oxygen to keep the men alive. Spike then begins lamenting about being unable to contact his sister to his equally trapped Skywatch compatriots. As he says this, ocean water comes pouring through the gaps in the trailer.

Presently, Spike awakens in a sweat in Prime's cab, no longer underwater. After Joe Henderson asks about the health of his commanding officer, Spike comments that it's going to take some time for his brain to stop reliving their recent aquatic plight. Composing himself, Spike orders Henderson to check for communications from the Skywatch base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Joe does so, and sees that in addition to the expected offline distress call, there is another message encoded underneath that Prime is going to want to see.

The message plays, and a projection of Megatron appears, greeting Optimus Prime, who the Decepticon tyrant knows will still be alive to receive this message. The same cannot be said of some of the Autobot troops, notably Ultra Magnus, and Skywatch personnel mustered against Megatron. Megatron ends the message by threatening not to kill Prime, but to destroy him, stating that the Autobots will know the difference. After Optimus verifies that the message came from near a population center, the Autobots and Skywatch personnel roll out, despite the ammo shortages, power depletion and fatigue affecting all of them.

Outside of Albuquerque, Brawn is forced to abandon his prisoner, Starscream, and take his wounded ally Thundercracker to get repairs from Ratchet. Not far away, Optimus Prime and his group of Autobots rendezvous with Megatron and Soundwave. Megatron tells Prime to lower his weapons as they can do no harm to the Decepticon leader's new form. Megatron then gloats that in the city, there are 46 people armed with weapons derived from his previous body, and hundreds more scattered across the planet. Optimus dismisses these people as renegades that mean nothing and claims the Cybertronians can learn much from the humans, an idea that Megatron scoffs at. Megatron claims that the only things the Autobots will learn is how they've brought ruin to themselves. Optimus Prime asks if this is how it's always going to be, a philosophical disagreement and then the punching starts. Megatron answers that this time, things have changed. Rather than kill Prime, he wants to destroy him. To this end, Megatron had dumped the wounded and incapacitated Autobots in the city fifteen minutes earlier.

Knowing that if his troops take on non-military humans in their own cities they'll never be accepted on Earth, Prime sends Spike and Campolongo to find his cohorts, ordering Jazz to transport them as he's the fastest of the group. Prime admits to Megatron that he doesn't trust all humans, but he does trust Spike.

Driving through the city, Spike hears via the radio that Megatron dumped the wounded Autobots on a school playground. At the playground, there are two men with Megatron-derived guns aiming at the Autobots. Several policemen with regular sidearms have the Megatron-gun wielders in their sights. Gears is trying to get the humans to stand down so that nobody on either side gets hurt, but the Autobot's message isn't getting through. Spike pulls up in Jazz, disembarks and tells the police that he's taking operational command and that the first priority is evacuating the area so that no people get hurt. An officer on the scene ignores Spike and orders the assembled police to hold their fire, despite protestations from a wounded elderly fellow officer.

Back outside the city, Megatron tells Optimus Prime that he can feel the renegade humans getting ready to fire on the Autobots. This leads Prime to conclude that the Decepticon hasn't left this to chance and must be communicating somehow through the Cybertronian weaponry. Prime charges up his ion blaster. Megatron reminds Optimus that it won't hurt him. Optimus knows and blasts Soundwave through the head, deactivating both the Decepticon communications officer and the signals broadcasting into the Megatron-guns. Megatron is predictably enraged, and threatens to destroy Optimus Prime's spark with his bare hands. Megatron stops himself, stating that while he may have lost one soldier, Prime is going to lose everything. With that statement, Megatron then scoops up Soundwave's body and leaves.

Back in the city, the gun wielders are a little disoriented now that the "voices" have stopped. They are subsequently disarmed and detained rather easily. However, the policeman who gave the order to hold fire earlier now has one of the Megatron-guns and says that while the renegades may have been insane, they were not wrong, and points the Megatron-gun at Bumblebee. Bumblebee tries to reason with the man, but an impatient Jazz disobeys Prime's order to stand down, transforms and creeps up on the situation. Right as the man goes to squeeze the trigger on the Megatron-gun, Jazz fires his photon rifle at the human, engulfing him in flames. A horrified Bumblebee asks a shaken Jazz what he just did...
Notes
* "Burning Chrome" is the name of a 1982 short story (and later written short story collection) by William Gibson.
* Red Alert is seen with Prime's team from Korea, while Wheeljack is nowhere to be found. It's possible the Korean unit reconnected with the other Autobots on Earth (besides those with Ultra Magnus) between this issue and the last, but this isn't clearly indicated from the context.

Errors
* Optimus is the only Autobot to have faction symbols on page 3.
* The first panel of page 12 is missing a dialog balloon before Megatron says "Or you can..." This was corrected in the trade paperback collection with the missing balloon and dialogue added in as: "Of course, if you're so committed to "learning" from these humans I'm sure you'll sit back and attend to this lesson."
* Blurr, Tracks, and Windcharger are mysteriously absent in the group that Megatron leaves on the school playground, even though were seen last issue.
* On page 14, third panel, Silverstreak's shoulder is mistakenly colored orange.
* And on the subject of colors, in the pages colored by Andrew Dalhouse, Jazz's visor is Generation 1 blue, but in the pages colored by Romulo Fajardo, they're colored like his movie counterpart's. Also, Red Alert's helmet is colored red (like in the cartoon), whereas the previous Earth-based story had him with a black helmet (his figure).

Transformers Vault: The Complete Transformers Universe Showcasing Rare Collectibles and Memorabilia is surely the most comprehensive and accurate English-language licensed guidebook to explore the history of the entire Transformers brand. The book recounts the original development of the pre-Transformer toylines, the conception of the foundational storyline and marketing elements in the 1980s, and then each successive incarnation of the international toylines, media, and merchandising, with spotlights on important characters, creators, and franchise milestones.

Interactive content
It has been billed as the first prequel to Transformers: Dark of the Moon, but by all appearances, it doesn't really have anything to do with it.
Overview
Sector 7 follows the Simmons lineage down through the years, beginning with Walter Simmons in 1898, the discovery of the frozen Megatron and the founding of the organization that will become Sector Seven. Simmons is consumed by the alien wonders that Megatron—and later the AllSpark—present, slipping into a self-destructive decline that initially pushes his family away, only to slowly, inevitably, draw them back into an all-consuming obsession that defines the Simmons legacy through to the present day. The only hope for breaking the cycle lies with Jetfire, wandering the Earth after his abandonment by the The Fallen, whose path continuously finds itself intersecting with that of Simmons and his descendants.

The series pays particular attention to the fragmented continuity of the live-action movie continuity family, doing its best to forge connections with disparate pieces of fiction (including the films themselves, IDW's own comics, and surprisingly, the Ghosts of Yesterday prequel novel), as well as to address and smooth over any obvious continuity errors. Real-world history is also folded in where appropriate, including events such as the Spanish-American War, the Boxer Rebellion, and World War II, and the lives of historical figures like Herbet and Lou Hoover, and Bonnie and Clyde. Every issue features a page of notes by the author to highlight and further explain in detail both the Transformers continuity and real-world references.

Creative team
Transformers: Sector 7 is written by John Barber, with a different artist providing artwork for each of the different eras the story focuses on across its timeline: Joe Suitor illustrates the adventures of Walter Simmons in issues #1 and 2, Chee Yang Ong draws the tale of Margo Simmons in #3, Jou Kang steps in to cover Billy Simmons's wartime escapades in #4, and Jon Davis-Hunt rounds out the saga with #5. Regular covers for the series were produced by Brian Rood, with Suitor creating a series of five interconnecting retailer incentive variants.
Galvatron and his minions investigate the mysterious disappearance of Gorlam Prime's population.
Synopsis
Galvatron thinks of Gorlam Prime during its peak, with mechanical citizens bustling through the cities that cover its surface. According to Galvatron, it always was this way...

Galvatron stands in a decimated city on Gorlam Prime. The dead litter the street, and Galvatron compares the state of the city and the entire planet to "an intricate mechanism that has wound down and broken". As Galvatron studies the landscape, perplexed at how this might have happened, Scourge and Cyclonus return and report to Galvatron that Gorlam Prime is completely devoid of life, "cybertronic or otherwise". Galvatron compares Gorlam Prime to the Marie Celeste before transforming and ordering Cyclonus and Scourge to follow him.

As Galvatron and the Seekers travel to parts unknown, Galvatron muses on the power that he had found when Optimus Prime tossed him into a solar polar. Galvatron thought at first that the sheer amount of energy would kill him, but instead, it awakened the power of the Dead Universe's Anti-Matrix which had been dormant inside of him. The Anti-Matrix joined to him and became "The Heart of Darkness". After gaining this power, Galvatron climbed out of the solar-pool and was discovered by two Garrus-9 guards. However, they were terrified by his power, and let Galvatron leave. Galvatron took a ship and traveled to Gorlam Prime to seek guidance from his fellow Seekers.

Once he had arrived, Galvatron found Scourge and Cyclonus on the brink of death. During his time in the solar-pool, years had passed, and after being separated from the Dead Universe, they had begun to waste away. Galvatron revived them using the power of the Heart of Darkness and told them they had a new mission as "catalysts of change". Immediately, Scourge sent out his Sweeps to find the cause of Gorlam Prime's emptiness, as Scourge and Cyclonus had no memory of the events which had left Gorlam Prime so deserted due to their degenerative state.

Once the Seekers reached their destination, Excavation Site 4, Galvatron explains his plan- if they can't find the cause of the disappearance of all life signs on Gorlam Prime, they would find Jhiaxus and the trans-dimensional portal. Cyclonus finds the entrance to the portal buried beneath the rubble and the bodies of several Micromasters. Galvatron tells Cyclonus to stand aside and blasts away the rubble in his tank form. Cyclonus, who had not stood aside before Galvatron began blasting, is helped to his feet by Scourge. Cyclonus then leans against the wall and begins to say they should examine the Micromaster remains before being cut off by Scourge and the rock slide caused by Cyclonus's carelessness. Galvatron holds up the collapsing tunnel, however, and asks if Scourge and Cyclonus could get a move on.

As they approach the excavation site, Cyclonus notes the way back is blocked. Galvatron tells him they're clear it on the way out, and as Seekers, never worry about what's behind them. When they enter the excavation site, they find the portal to the Dead Universe gone. Cyclonus remarks that the excavation is empty. A badly damaged Jhiaxus taps Cyclonus and the shoulder and states its not quite empty and asks to be killed. He then explains how Arcee spent years beating him to a pulp because of what he he had done and then disappeared with Hardhead in a flash of light. Galvatron orders Scourge and Cyclonus to grab the broken pieces of Jhiaxus and put them near him. Then, using the power of the darkness, Galvatron reassembles Jhiaxus. Jhiaxus is amaze at his new form and begins to ask Galvatron how he could ever repay him. Galvatron cuts him off and tells him to help him to find the portal. Jhiaxus sets down a tunnel and the Seekers (Cyclonus somewhat reluctantly) follow. The tunnel leads into a humongous cavern filled with ancient carvings and statues. At the center of the cavern is a sphere made of the same quicksilver material as the Dead Universe portal.

Galvatron extends his hand and tries to touch the portal. Before he can, however, he is shot in the back, and Arcee and Hardhead begin to blast at the Seekers, Arcee telling Hardhead to destroy them all...
*TBD

Errors
*As with a lot of recent IDW books, the timings given here are a little wonky. As this is set pre-Infestation, presumably either during or before the first arc of the ongoing, it's been at most three or four years since Galvatron was thrown into the solar pool. When last seen during the Revelation arc, Gorlam Prime was shown as still being in transition. This seems like a mightily small amount of time for it to become one of "the pinnacles of cyber-organic culture in the Galaxy".

Items of note
*Galvatron compares Gorlam Prime to the human ghost ship Marie Celeste. though it's unclear when he had time to delve into human culture like that.
*Being dead seems to agree with Hardhead as he got an extra cannon out of the deal!
