:Wreckage is a Decepticon from the 2007 movie franchise in the live-action film continuity family.

Cold, distant, quiet. Wreckage is the counterpart to the hot-wired Brawl. Deliberate and methodical in his attacks, he enjoys watching his foe squirm in agony as his twin swords cut deep below their armor. Circuits popping and vital processors sizzling to uselessness are the music he longs to make, and none of the Decepticons can argue with his taste for making Autobots suffer.

Even though he’s an avid supporter of Megatron, and he’s been involved in his share of Decepticon victories, he’s not considered to be one of their more reliable or trustworthy soldiers. He has a bad habit of caving under pressure, which makes him a poor candidate for leading missions. And all things considered, that’s not going to clear up any time soon. But that doesn’t stop him from thinking he deserves to be Megatron’s right hand man more than Starscream.
Many years ago, Wreckage was a member of Cybertron's defense forces, under the command of Protector Megatron. After the discovery of a mysterious relic and an alien attack on Cybertron Defiance issue 1, Megatron changed significantly, altering the military's mission from one of protection of their homeworld to the new aim of making war upon the hostile aliens and anybody who would stand in their way. Wreckage was present at Megatron's war rally in Trypticon, where the military leader demanded the control of all of Cybertron's forces in his vengeful attack on the aliens from the Eshems Nebula. Defiance issue 2 Wreckage was presumably at Megatron's rally where he unveiled his new "Decepticon" faction. Defiance issue 3

During the subsequent civil war, Wreckage was one of several Decepticons under the command of Starscream during the battle of Tyger Pax. He was finishing off an Autobot with his sword when Brawl arrived with news that Megatron knew where the All Spark was located. After witnessing the successful Autobot launch of the All Spark and Megatron's subsequent pursuit of it, Wreckage left Cybertron with Starscream's group in search of their leader.

Arriving on Earth many years later in Afghanistan, Wreckage scanned and destroyed a human military carrier vehicle sent to investigate their planetfall. He was able to trace the location of the Bargam US airbase and jam their communications to prevent them from calling for help. Under Starscream's orders, Wreckage led the group to attack, initially confusing the soldiers with his vehicle mode. Whilst observing Barricade slaughter human soldiers the latter had tricked, Wreckage was hit with a localized electromagnetic pulse and disabled. Barricade was ordered by Starscream to leave their comrade behind, because either he would recover eventually, or if not, then it didn't matter. Planetfall The Reign of Starscream Issue Number One

Starscream learned from Frenzy's datatrax that Wreckage's body had been claimed by Sector Seven The Reign of Starscream Issue Number Two, and that Wreckage had made arrangements with Sector Seven, incurring the air commander's wrath. The Reign of Starscream issue 4

Buried by his comrades, Wreckage was eventually discovered by agents of Sector Seven who unearthed and transported him to a secret base in Nevada. He was reactivated under the watch of Sector Seven operative Salazar. Trading information for his own survival, Wreckage was deactivated by Salazar after the battle at Mission City that claimed the life of Megatron, due to a growing danger he presented. Alliance issue 2 Salazar was soon inadvertently killed when Starscream escaped Earth, leaving Wreckage inert. Seymour Simmons, however, planned to use William Lennox's Autobot contacts to awaken him... Alliance issue 1

When Optimus Prime left the Allspark sliver with Sector Seven, they brought it underground for safe keeping, despite Professor Vine's insistence that they keep it as far from Wreckage as possible. Vine's fears were well founded: while passing Wreckage's platform to take it to an isolation vault, the sliver was drawn to Wreckage, awakening him. Wreckage broke free, demanding Megatron's whereabouts and for Salazar be given to him so that he could strip the flesh from his frame. As he escaped, he attempts to scan a green jeep as a new alternate mode, but is attacked by Landmine units also activated by the Allspark. This left him with a new green coloration. The Landmine units proved no match for Wreckage, but upon defeating them, he was suddenly confronted with an enraged Starscream, who accused him of treason. Wreckage himself was less than pleased with the Air Commander, feeling Starscream had betrayed him by leaving him for dead. A fierce battle took place, damaging the Sector Seven base and killing several humans, but Wreckage eventually gained the upper hand. Just as he was about to kill Starscream, Bumblebee arrived and shot off said hand, and Starscream thrust his claws into Wreckage's spark core, killing him. Alliance issue 2
Wreckage was one of a group of Decepticons who trapped Bumblebee in a canyon. He stood around on a rocky butte, walking back and forth and waiting for Bumblebee to drive up to him. When the impudent Autobot dropped in (nearly landing on poor Wreckage's head), Wreckage immediately opened fire, blasting Bumblebee over and over and over and over and over. Unfortunately, Bumblebee had the idea to shoot back, blasting Wreckage right out of the picture with just one shot. : Wreckage transforms into an M1126 Stryker Infantry Carrier Vehicle in urban or arctic camo, armed with a M2 .50 cal machine gun and two other machine guns mounted extending out of the troop compartment. Unusually for a Transformer with a military vehicle alternate mode, Wreckage does not feature significant embellishments to his design, even though he is not a licensed toy. However, his white plastic obscures much of his sculpted detailing.

:The smaller machine gun weapons feature flip-out energy blades that can be held in his hands, mounted under his forearms or on any of the wheels. They can also connect together to form an undocumented but certainly intended double-bladed weapon; mounting this on his forearm wheels gives him an awesome spinning blade weapon.

: There is a minor issue on Wreckage where moving his arms down or towards his back at the shoulder will activate his Automorphing feature and begin to fold the torso back into its vehicle mode position. The best way to avoid this is to hold the grey gun plugging into his back in position while moving his arms.
*As revealed at 2007's Hasbro tour, Wreckage is the toy company's elaboration of a design for a Transformer abandoned early in the Movie's development. It had no name and was thus labeled Stryker, the name of its vehicle mode.
*It was also revealed at 2008's Designer panel that the reason Wreckage's head doesn't match "Stryker"'s concept art was because Takara couldn't make out the detail from the design sketches that were sent to them. Aaron Archer drew a new head in five minutes, before catching a plane to Tokyo.
* This "Stryker" concept art was later used as a Decepticon piece in the Transformers Risk game.
Sideways operated as a high-speed reconnaissance operative with the ability to snipe at Autobot opponents from afar with his plasma sniper rifle, and slow enemies to a crawl with his graviton mine when he needed to get away.

Sideways was deployed to Shanghai after the Autobots and their NEST allies were detected interfering with an important operation in the area. Upon arrival, various Protectobot drones were sent to stop him, but failed. Later, Sideways was sent to the Shanghai waterfront to retrieve Grindor, who had been damaged and captured by the Autobots. The nimble Decepticon sports car used a combination of speed and guile to fight his way through the numerically superior Autobot forces, freed Grindor and escorted his Decepticon brother back to the extraction point. He was sent back to the waterfront again find a cloaked Autobot probe that threatened the Decepticon operations in China. Following the probe's wake, Sideways raced through the waterfront past startled human dockworkers and the Protectobot units assigned to the area, destroying the probe as it revealed itself. Revenge of the Fallen (Xbox 360/PS3/PC)
While the Autobot struggled to pass the cramped causeways, Sideways set himself up on the roof of the tallest residential block and fired his plasma sniper rifle. :Deluxe-Class Sideways features Automorph action during the conversion from car to robot mode. When the front bumper is pressed, his front pair of wheels automatically flip underneath the hood, and his robot abs flip down. There is also some Mech Alive: you can see internal gears moving in his fore-arms when moving his arms, as well as a turning disk on each of his elbows. On his right arm is a spinning "saw" blade. He is probably the least film-accurate toy to date (that doesn't fall in a lesser size-class or different toy-line), but that doesn't make him any less awesome.

:Unlike the other on-screen characters in Revenge of the Fallen who turn into consumer vehicles, Sideways' vehicle mode is merely an approximation of an Audi R8 and is not an accurate replica. This is because the toy vehicle, lacking Audi signage, is unlicensed. This doesn't explain why all versions of Deluxe class Sideways (hand-painted prototypes, test shots and production toys) are missing the black front lid, roof and rear hood seen on Sideways toys of other price points, and the real car. However, all of the toys are missing the unique silver stripes on top of the black areas seen on the APR-tuned Audi R8, which was the car used in the movie.

:Yet another victim of late mold changes rampant among the 2008-2009 financial crisis, Sideways appears to have had a hinged thumb on his left hand in Hasbro stock photos whereas this is a solid section molded on to the arm on the final toy. Although not indicated on any early photos nor instructions, Sideways' windshield underside has two notches that connect to Sideways' hood on small square pegs immediately behind the front wheels. This requires folding up the two small triangular pieces on top of the hood. Also it seems as if the spinning saw blade was originally powered by gears, the gearbox and shaft for the lever can still be seen on his right forearm but are molded just like his thumb onto the arm.

:Along with Breakaway, Sideways was initially released in two color schemes, a light silver version and a less common very dark silver version.

Notes
*When Audi was looking to win screen time for one of its cars in the summer films during 2009, Ruben Igielko-Herrlich, a marketing consultant from Propaganda Global Entertainment Marketing, helped the company to find an opportunity in the film Revenge of the Fallen. Ruben talked the staff from the film into finding a role for the Audi R8. Ultimately, an Audi R8 appears in the film as Sideways. Thus, Sideways became the only car Transformer in the movie whose alternate mode is not manufactured by General Motors.
* Sideways's toys and merchandise are not licensed by Audi, and are thus merely approximations of the R8. However, Sideways' appearance in the Revenge of the Fallen video games is fully licensed, so he is accurate to the car used in the film and has Audi's logos and signage.

* According to designer Hisashi Yuki, the wheels on the hands were a rushed late addition due to a design change in the movie character model. This is why the hand tires are not integrated more properly into the toy.

* When first leaked images of his concept design and toy where leaked onto the internet many thought this was going to be a new body for Barricade.
The Cube gave these beings mighty powers, as well as terraforming their world, but it was not limitless, and gradually became depleted. The cement chute at the rear of the vehicle mode can accurately raise and lower on a hinge.

: His robot mode is very thin and lanky, with numerous joints on the extremely long arms alone. The packaging calls out Mech Alive gimmickry in the form of "spinning gears" on his chest, but the feature is only present at the thighs and forearms, which reveal shifting internal bits when the joints are rotated. The robot mode's missile-firing cannon is locked in place on its back pointing straight upward; in order to aim it the toy must be transformed to its artillery cannon-like Battle Mode that has him essentially performing a belly flop, letting the launcher fire forward.

: The image of the cement mixer mode on the packaging has been flipped horizontally, leaving the location of the ladder switched. Additionally, the robot mode image on the packaging has a different mold for the mixing drum shells, with rectangular-shaped pegs rather than circular.

*Mixmaster (Voyager, 2009)
**Japanese ID number: RD-12
**Accessories: Missile

:Voyager Class ROTF Mixmaster transforms into a gray and silver cement mixer with purple windows and headlights, based loosely on the Mack truck seen in the film. The vehicle mode's mixing drum is incapable of rotating due to the transformation, but does boast a pair of gigantic Decepticon logos on either side.

:The Mixmaster component of the Devastator set becomes Devastator's head. He contains the lights and sounds for Devastator, as well as individual sounds for his vehicle mode. They are motion activated, which means he never, ever shuts up. As with the other Constructicon members in this set, Mixmaster does not have his own robot mode.
