[[Unicron]] is transforming [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] into a new form — causing the planet to turn hostile to every Transformer on it! In the face of Autobot criticism, [[Stockade (Movie)|Stockade]] can only say he ''had'' to do something to stop Cybertron dying. [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] points out the something just made everything worse!

Both factions flee as the giant transmitter dish comes crashing down,trapping [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]] underneath it. The Decepticons have no idea what to do, with [[Incinerator (Movie)|Incinerator]] helpfully raising morale by pointing out they're all going to die. As [[Storm Surge]] and [[Fracture]] return, Stockade announces they're going to ignore the Autobots. Their priority now is to find a way to communicate with Unicron and convince him to work with them for the betterment of Cybertron! (SPOILERS: This won't work) [[Arcee (Movie)|Arcee]] and [[Armorhide (Movie)|Armorhide]] take advantage of the grace period by helping free Ironhide, while Bumblebee hopes the Autobots on Earth picked up his distress signal from last issue...

Back at Savannah, [[Georgia]], the entirety of the Autobots are preparing to take the [[Straxus (ship)|Straxus spacecraft]] to Cybertron to sort out the situation and secure the [[Nucleon]], leaving only <strike>[[Camshaft (Movie)|Camshaft]]</strike> [[Evac (Movie)|Evac]]'s team behind to continue putting plasters on the apocalypse. [[Mikaela Banes]] is swiftly bussed from Hilton Head Airport to the Field Bivouac by [[Ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]], being told she's being left behind to watch over the place — a situation that very much interests her puppet master [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]]...

As Unicron begins forming a maw on Cybertron, Stockade makes an impassioned, patriotic plea to him about the great things they could achieve if they worked together. Unicron responds with a bored "shut up you tart!" and zaps him, and after seeing this Ironhide believes the only thing left is to ''destroy Cybertron''!

The Straxus prepares to leave the Sol System, but just as they pass Saturn, Unicron warps in! He shoots the ship down and starts looking for something to eat — sighting [[Earth]]...

And on Earth, the Decepticons have just wallked in to the Savannah base and prepare to reconquer the United States! (''Merry Christmas'', humans!)

Working a nine-to-five job as a wage slave sure sucks. Which means that when you discover a fragment of an [[AllSpark (Animated)|ancient life-giving alien artifact]], it's time to clock out for the last time and launch a career as a super-villain! No? Well, '''Slo-Mo''' seems to think so.

This dishy dame's timepiece has the power to slow down machines, even stop 'em cold. In their tracks. Company halt. It even works on those annoying [[Autobot]]s!

Amusingly enough, she seems to have a mutual attraction with the speedster [[Nanosec]].

He made me '''late!'''"]]Slo-Mo first appeared on the scene as a mysterious benefactor who helped out [[Angry Archer|several]] [[Professor Princess|of Detroit's]] [[Nanosec|B-List Villains]], saving them from capture by the Autobots with an Allspark-empowered timepiece. Gathering these three 'also-rans' at her former place of employment she introduced herself. Formerly a production line worker, she one day discovered what would prove to be an AllSpark fragment mixed into the quartz crystals she fitted into clocks. When installed in a clock-like housing she found it slowed down all electronic and mechanical systems, from automobiles to automatons to Autobots. She realized this was a chance to make it big she set out on a career in crime, but had the sense to recognize she was an amateur at the game, and proposed that the gathered crooks could restyle themselves as a crime syndicate. She also revealed that it was her AllSpark-powered timepiece that had undone Nino Sexton's premature aging, and this favor seemed to kindle a potential relationship between the two.

The as yet unnamed syndicate's first bust quickly went south on them however when they became cornered not only by the Autobot [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] (who was quickly defeated by Slo-Mo's timepiece) but also by the flesh-and-blood officers of the DPD. Fortunately, an anonymous caller on her watch-phone quickly offered them the services of a nearby [[Swindle (Animated)|Sports Utility Vehicle]] as a getaway car, complete with 4-wheel-drive, inbuilt weaponry, and comfortable seating for four (complete with a booster-seat for Professor Princess). Speeding away, she was nonetheless unimpressed by their patron's attempting to undermine her authority, and didn't feel indebted to him for just a truck. After finding out that it was a truck ''with a ridiculously large turret'' she was far more tractable. Now liking what the man was saying, her eyes lit up with dollar signs as their benefactor described the ultimate heist.

Unfortunately once all the items were gathered her sugar daddy mentioned one niggling detail: the final part of the device they were going to sell was the very source of her superpowers. The deal soured, forcing the unseen voice to reveal that [[Swindle (Animated)|he ''was'' their getaway car]]. Slo-Mo was a quick thinker, realizing she could blast him with her timepiece. Unfortunately the Decepticon was a quicker thinker, using first a handy-dandy forcefield, and subsequently an even handier, dandier tractor beam to steal the timepiece. Slo-Mo was out of luck. Gathering her similarly depowered cartel members, she teamed up with the [[Sari Sumdac|little girl with the pigtails]] to haul the yellow Autobot to Sumdac Tower. It was all just a ploy to get her timepiece back though, and she double-crossed the white hats as soon as she was able. Sadly, she was unable to recognize the effects of her own timepiece on the getaway car, and thus was hauled away by the black and white. {{storylink|SUV: Society of Ultimate Villainy}}

Ratchet used to be a politician - Optimus Prime's chief liaison to the [[High Council of Ancients]]. He tried to find a peaceful solution to the civil war and when this failed, he became a battlefield medic.

He would later be one of three Autobots who tried to prevent Megatron from reaching the [[All Spark]]. They hadn't, however, expected for [[Brawl (Movie)|Devastator]] to be demented enough to set off a foldspace warhead at pointblank range - a weapon that warped everyone to different parts of the galaxy. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 3}} Ratchet found himself stuck in the middle of a genocidal alien war that uncomfortably mirrored Cybertron's own; by challenging and defeating the local tyrant, he became ruler of the Thraal faction. He then ordered a ceasefire and oversaw an interim alliance, effectively bringing peace to the planet single-handed. He then set up a homing beacon in the hope of getting rescued. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 3}}

[[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]] eventually picked the beacon up and the two began searching for Jazz when he didn't show. They rescued him from a predatory alien planet and then returned to Cybertron. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 6}}

Decades later and immediately following the death of Megatron in the film, Ratchet and his comrades were attacked by [[zombie]] Decepticons. After being briefly smacked aside in the fight, it occured to Ratchet that the corpses were being animated by All Spark energy stolen from the [[Real Gear Robots|animated human machines]], and this knowledge turned the tide before the Autobots were wiped out. {{Storylink|Transformers Comic issue 7}}

In an alternate timeline where the Decepticons won at [[Mission City]], Ratchet is part of the outnumbered human-Autobot resistance in the conquered [[United States of America]]. {{storylink|Transformers Comic issue 10}} Along with [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]], he infiltrated a Decepticon facility to stop them using the [[All Spark]] to transform Earth - and reluctantly has decided to let the All Spark be destroyed if it's the only way to save Earth. Hearing [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee's]] call of assistance, Ratchet and the other Autobots under Optimus Prime's direct command came to Earth, with Ratchet crashing into a storefront. As emergency crews and bystanders observed the wreckage, Ratchet assumed the vehicle mode of a nearby Hummer H2 rescue vehicle and drove away.

Ratchet linked up with [[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]] and [[Jazz (Movie)|Jazz]], then made their way to a deserted ally to meet up with Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and their new [[Sam Witwicky|human]] [[Mikaela Banes|friends]]. After being introduced as the unit's medical officer, Ratchet remarked that his sensors have indicated that Sam's pheromone levels suggests he wants to mate with Mikaela. (Neither Sam nor Mikaela appreciated this comment.) He also explained how Bumblebee's [[Circuits#Oral circuits|voicebox]] was damaged, and that he had been having trouble fixing it for some time.

Following Sam to his house, Ratchet and their other Autobots unwittingly caused much destruction to the Witwicky yard and stress to Sam when they attempted to help the boy look for his [[Archibald Witwicky|grandfather's]] glasses. After Sam told them to hide, Ratchet accidentally walked into some power lines, which shocked him enough to make him fall onto a greenhouse. Ratchet found the experience tingly, suggested to Ironhide that he try it, and Ironhide, sarcastically, mused that it looked fun, but unfortunately this caused a neighborhood-wide blackout, making the search for the glasses much more difficult. Ratchet attempted to help by activating his powerful floodlights which only suceeded in making [[Ron Witwicky|the]] [[Judy Witwicky|parents]] investigate his room. When Ironhide remarked that Sam's parents were annoying and requested Prime's permission to 'take them out', the normally peaceful Ratchet nodded vigorously and pointed Ironhide's left cannon at the house. Maybe that powersurge did more damage than we thought it did.

Soon, Sam, Mikaela and his parents were captured by the mysterious [[Sector Seven]]; Ratchet and the other Autobots totally outclassed the S7 agents by instantly disarming them of their weapons, then rescuing the boy and his girl. Their dramatic escape was to be short-lived when Bumblebee was captured while saving his human friends' lives. The next morning, the remaining Autobots gathered to discuss their options. Whether through intuition or some technological means, Ratchet announced that the Decepticons were preparing to make their move. Optimus Prime declared that if they could not defeat the Decepticons, he would fuse the [[All Spark]] with his own [[spark]], hopefully destroying it. Ratchet cautioned him against this action, as the raw power of the artifact would likely kill him. Prime replied that it was his own choice, and to save the humans from destruction and the mistakes of the Transformers, it was a sacrifice that he was willing to make. Inspired by his words, the Autobots headed to [[Hoover Dam]], before encountering Bumblebee leading a column of Sector Seven vehicles headed in the opposite direction.

As the large group arrived in [[Mission City]], it was attacked by [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]], with the explosion crippling Bumblebee. At the same time, [[Brawl (Movie)|Devastator]] attacked the surviving human soldiers, prompting Ratchet and Jazz to engage the large Decepticon. As Jazz destroyed one of Brawl's rocket pods, Ratchet used his buzzsaw to slice off the tank's left arm.

[[William Lennox|Captain Lennox]] ordered Sam to take the All Spark to the rooftop of a nearby, run-down building so he could pass the cube to a military helicopter that would soon arrive. Ratchet and Ironhide volunteered themselves to protect Sam as he made his escape. Unfortunately, the villainous Starscream swooped down to block Sam's path, forcing the Autobots to engage him in a rather one-sided battle that left them both damaged. Ratchet and Ironhide collapsed, and Sam had to continue on his own.

After the defeat of Megatron and the destruction of the All Spark, Ratchet somberly informed Optimus Prime that he could not save the fallen Jazz. Later, as Optimus declared that Earth was their new home and that his team would be waiting for any surviving Autobots to gather there, Ratchet spent the remainder of the day observing Sam and Mikaela making out on the hood of Bumblebee's vehicle mode. {{storylink|Transformers (2007)}}

Ratchet, despite what he said previously, fixes Jazz up just fine. He also learns a little more about Earth and decides to change to what he feels is a more typical "rescue" deco. The new look feels more natural to him.

He makes no other appearances, and so is one of the three characters (the other two being Megatron and Brawl) to survive the game. He's in a spot of bother now, then.

:One of the most inaccurate Voyager-class toys, Voyager ''Movie'' Ratchet transforms into a [[wikipedia:Hummer_H2|AM General Hummer H2]], customised as a fire search and rescue vehicle. Mostly accurate to the prop vehicle (though the wheels and emergency light bar are incorrect), Ratchet is missing some sculpted detailing for the rear doors and lights, as this is where his knee joints are situated. Ratchet is also missing significant amounts of paint applications, with unpainted wheels, emergency tools, and light details, as well as a underpainted face, resulting in a rather monochromatic toy.

:During transformation, unfolding his legs will activate his [[Automorph]]ing feature, which folds out his kneepads and feet, and 'bulges' out two small panels along his inner calves. In robot mode, Ratchet is bulkier than his CGI movie design, with larger, blockier limbs, evoking a more 'traditional' Transformers appearance. As such, his chest does not compress into the slimmer CGI model. He features a reasonable amount of articulation, though his windshield halves and the rear brush guards may occassionally interfere with his arms and legs.

:The only Autobot to not feature a ranged weapon, Ratchet's right forearm unfolds into an axe (based upon a weapon concept study), and the removable rollbar/roof rack can either be mounted on his left arm as a shield, or stored on his back.

:Oddly, although Ratchet's thumbs are articulated, space is so restricted that they are all but useless. His left thumb can only move a millimeter due to his wrist armour getting in the way. His right thumb does have more space to move, but pushing it will invariably disengage the fold-out axe from his forearm.

== Synopsis ==
In [[Qatar]], Scorponok battles with the military team and is eventually defeated by aircraft with 6000 degree Sabot rounds. He escapes under the sand with a bit of his tail broken off left behind.

In [[Tranquility]], U.S.A., Sam flees from Bumblebee while he unbeknownst is pursued by Barricade and Frenzy. Barricade corners him in a parking lot and transforms, asking him about the auction of his great grandfather's artifacts. Mikaela follows Sam and the two are rescued by Bumblebee. Barricade deploys Frenzy to attack the humans while he battles Bumblebee. Mikaela cuts off Frenzy's head with a power saw while Barricade and Bumblebee fall off a cliff. The [[Autobot]] climbs back up speaks to the humans through his radio while Frenzy's head scans Mikaela's cell phone and transforms into an exact copy. The humans travel with Bumblebee and give him the suggestion to transform into something nicer; he instantly converts into a 2008 Camero. Bumblebee leads them to the site of a meteor crash. The meteor is actually Optimus Prime, who scans and converts into a semi truck. He then transforms and assures the humans not to fear as the other Autobots approach. He lets the humans know his name and that they are from [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]].

Optimus Prime asks Sam if he's related to [[Archibald Witwicky]] and introduces the [[Autobot]]s (which Mikaela coins) to the humans: Jazz, Ironhide, Ratchet, and Bumblebee. Prime educates the humans on the Autobots' mission to find the All Spark, what it is, and who Megatron and the [[Decepticon]]s are, along with [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]'s war. He also lets Sam know that the All Spark's location is imprinted on Archibald's glasses and that if Megatron finds it, he will use its power to rebuild his armies.

[[Scorponok (Movie)|Scorponok]]'s tail is studied and it's discovered that the Transformers are sensitive to temperature.

Sam returns home and Mikaela is snuck into his room to help look for the glasses. The Autobots attempt to be inconspicuous but Jazz leans against a power line and is shocked, knocking out power to the home. Prime continues to talk to Sam, making his parents suspicious until Mikaela reveals herself. When they finally recover the backpack containing the glasses, [[Sector Seven]] arrive and take Sam and Mikaela due to his report of the transforming car to the police. Sam plays dumb and Optimus Prime rips the roof off the SUV while Jazz takes the agents' guns. The agents are not that impressed with the giant f*cking robots and backup soon arrives. Using a pulse blast, the Autobots attempt to escape with the humans but when Mikaela almost falls from Optimus Prime beneath a bridge, Bumblebee and Sam save her, but are caught in the process. Prime and the Autobots decide not to pursue but instead to locate the All Spark, which Prime plans to merge with his [[spark]] to destroy it and end the Cybertronian wars.

Inside, Sam and Mikaela exchange their knowledge of Transformers with the agents while on their way to see "N.B.E.-1". When Sam sees it, he informs them that it's actually Megatron, leader of the Decepticons.
