Starscream proposes a truce with Megatron, but Dreadwing threatens to stand in the way.

Synopsis
Starscream tells Megatron that he wishes to once more become a Decepticon. While Megatron points out that Dreadwing is now his second-in-command, Starscream insists he will keep to his place. Skeptical, Megatron has Knock Out extracted from the wall so that he can connect Megatron and Starscream with a cortical psychic patch. By rummaging through Starscream's memories, Megatron intends to find what really drives him, and first reviews the events surrounding the space bridge explosion. Knock Out monitors the mental images with interest. Megatron watches various instances of Starscream insisting on his leadership, the time he made a bunch of clones to assassinate Megatron, and when he tried to make a deal with Airachnid to terminate Megatron. Starscream claims he was half-crazed with energon deficiency at the time, but Megatron is unconvinced. Starscream insists he's always had Megatron's best interests at heart. Replaying Starscream's monologue during the time when Megatron was trapped underground, Megatron suggests Starscream refrain from thinking out loud in future. He also drops the hint that if Starscream fails to be convincing, it'll likely end in Starscream's termination.

Starscream claims being beaten is enough to bring him back into line and tries to play up his own generosity by recalling the time when he provided Megatron with Cliffjumper's corpse for experimentation, and his use of his wits in dealing with the Autobots. Megatron points out his wits are usually insufficient to compensate for his arrogance, like when he faced Optimus Prime while charged up on Dark Energon, or when he tried to use the Energon Harvester on Bulkhead. The revelation that MECH took Starscream's T-Cog greatly amuses Megatron, though Starscream is hoping that that might be restored to him in exchange for the Omega Keys—after all, he usually transforms with such style. He points out that at the time he deserted the Decepticon cause, he wasn't being made to feel particularly welcome there, despite apparently learning his place. Megatron doesn't believe Starscream's change of heart at the time would have lasted, and replays a discussion between Starscream and Knock Out while Megatron was lying in a coma in the sick bay. In the real world, Knock Out starts to realize that Starscream's memories are going to be equally incriminating to himself. Panicking, he comes up with a plan to disconnect the patch, trapping Megatron in Starscream's mind.

As Knock Out goes to unplug Megatron, Dreadwing stops him and he's forced to make up an excuse. Megatron's psychic interrogation of Starscream continues, and while Starscream claims that no one is perfect, not even Dreadwing, Megatron points out at least Dreadwing and his departed brother Skyquake were loyal. Starscream's memories of Skyquake's death and revival through Dark Energon are replayed, and he recalls how Skyquake was left in an undead state in some dimensional nether-realm. This revelation comes as a shock to Dreadwing, still watching in the lab. Megatron announces that Starscream will be allowed to rejoin the Decepticon forces proper, but must be working as one unit, and he directly addresses this to the watching Knock Out. Knock Out realizes that Dreadwing is no longer standing behind him. Dreadwing stands on the outer hull of the Nemesis and aims a scream of rage at the sky.
Animation and technical errors
Continuity errors
* Starscream was not present when Skyquake was trapped in an alternate dimension in "Shadowzone", nor was that fact ever made clear to him. While it is obvious that Skyquake lost his arm (since it attacked Starscream), Starscream should have no knowledge of his fate beyond that.

Continuity notes
* This is the first truly Decepticon focused episode, with no Autobots appearing outside of flashbacks.
* This is also a clip show focusing on Starscream, so virtually every Starscream-relevant episode is revisited.
* This episode firmly establishes that Starscream never installed the T-cog he scavenged from the clone he murdered.
* Dreadwing learns of Starscream's attempt to revive Skyquake as a zombie minion, as well as his imprisonment in an alternate dimension.

Real-world references
*Dreadwing screaming to the sky in the rain at the end of the episode might be a reference to the Stephen King book, The Shawshank Redemption.
*Upon viewing his conversation with Starscream about his new rank; Knock-Out franctically looks for a fast-foward or erase button on the viewer. These are common features on DVR.

Trivia
* This is the first episode to feature humans after three episodes which didn't, albeit only in flashbacks.
* This is also the first episode to not feature any Autobots outside of flashbacks.
* Like in the previous episode, Megatron's mental projection has his original arm, not the Prime arm.
* For being clever enough to engineer a plan to successfully steal all Omega Keys, Starscream didn't really think through his plan to regain Megatron's favor. He went in with no insurance policy to make sure Megatron didn't just simply scrap him and take the keys instead.
The Autobots team up with a surprising ally to save the Earth.
Synopsis
Optimus Prime is battling a small army of Unicrons made from mountain rocks. Team Prime wish to back him up, but Optimus belays the order, for as Prime he is the one Unicron is after. Team Prime, against his orders decide to back him up, and Arcee, Bumblebee, and Bulkhead arrive to the area by GroundBridge. Optimus is angry that they disobeyed him but Arcee reminds him that since he is Unicron's target he should retreat back to base. Optimus tells them that Unicron can find him anywhere and that it would only be a matter of time before Unicron could find him even if he hid at the base. Arcee then asks him to let him take the lead, which he allows. They fight the Unicrons until a giant Unicron rises from the ground and comes close to killing Optimus before a blast knocks of its head. Megatron reveals himself to have fired the shot.

After Optimus and Megatron do their usual archnemesis banter, Megatron reveals his reason why he's there. He wants to team up with the Autobots to destroy Unicron. The Autobots question this truce but Megatron assures them that he is the only one who can lead them to Unicron and that Optimus, the last Prime, is the only one who can defeat him. Optimus deduces that since Unicron is at the center of the planet there will have to GroundBridge to the Earth's core, much to Ratchet's dismay. This also means that they will need to Grounbridge Megatron to base.

Back on the Nemesis, Airachnid tells Soundwave that it seems that Megatron has abandoned them since he has been gone so long and that they should begin looking at a future without him.

Listening back at base, Jack wonders if they can't just transport Unicron out of the core, but Raf and Ratchet tell him that he is the Earth's core and that messing with him could bring the destruction they're trying to avoid. Optimus agrees and believes that the only way to destroy Unicron is for him to unleash the full power of the Matrix of Leadership onto Unicron's spark. Ratchet explains to Fowler and Jack that the Matrix is the combined power of all the Primes and that it exists within Optimus Prime himself.

Before they can discuss any further another giant Unicron rise from the ground. Optimus calls for a GroundBridge and Megatron goes off to distract Unicron as the Autobots go back to base. They argue about the details of Megatron coming to base and decides that he can come to base. Jack wonder what will happen to Optimus when he unleashes the power of the Matrix, Optimus does not give him a direct answer but tell them that he is willing to do what is needed to be done and that the rest of the Autobots will carry on. Optimus calls in Megatron and the Decpticon finishes off Unicron's rock giant and enters the base. After bantering for a while, they get ready to leave. But before they leave Optimus meets Jack in private, impressed with how muched Jack's grown since they first met, entrusts him the key that control the GroundBridge operations until he returns.

Team Prime and Megatron leave for the core. After arriving in a cavernous interior with crisscrossing constructs, Arcee wonders how long it will be before Unicron discovers them. Megatron tells her that he already knows as, unbeknownst to them, a giant optic watches overhead.
Animation and technical errors
Continuity notes
*Ratchet comments that making a GroundBridge happen in space and a moving train is hard enough, recalling "Darkness Rising, Part 5" and "Convoy".
*Megatron still remembers Jack's face from "Rock Bottom". Though he still has yet to "share the details of their little conversation" with Optimus as he claimed he would.
*Raf hasn't forgotten what Megatron did to him in "One Shall Fall".
*Optimus being impressed with Jack's growth is similar to what Ratchet said about Jack back in "One Shall Fall".
