When the [[Hate Plague]] threatened to infect all life in the universe, [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] made a desperate mental trip into the Matrix in search of a cure. After speaking with [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]], Optimus Prime encountered It, which told him of the Matrix's previous exposure to the Hate Plague. At that time, a wise man was able to contain the plague's spores and seal them within a star, but no one person had enough wisdom to destroy the plague completely.
