'''Override''' doesn't know the meaning of the word "subtle". Announcing his presence with the deafening blast of his engines, he wants his enemies to know he's coming. The only thing he loves more than blasting [[Decepticon|Decepticons]] is charging full throttle, tearing up the roads. Override loves shifting into his powerful "Override Gear," joining battle at frightening speeds, [[Triggerbot]] guns blazing full volume (hopefully they hit something), with apparently no concern for his own well being. But this is not true. Annoyingly vain, Override can spiral into depression at the mere sight of a scratch on his chassis. It's probably the only time he quiets down.

Millions of years ago, Override was one of the Autobots under the command of a young, inexperienced [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], then a junior officer. Leading them into neutral territory to meet with a wise Transformer known as [[Boltax (G1)|Boltax]], they encountered several booby traps along the way. Override in particular was helpful in deactivating the [[mercury minefield]] which threatened to boil them. When they reached the [[Temple of Knowledge]], Override and the other Autobots were instructed to wait outside while Optimus Prime communed with Boltax. {{storylink|The Flames of Boltax!}}

Years later, in the present day, Override, the other Triggerbots, and the [[Sparkabot]]s were imprisoned by the Decepticons. Three of their number were taken by the Decepticons to [[Earth]], but Override was left behind. {{storylink|Ca$h and Car-nage!}}

During the [[Matrix Quest]], the Triggerbots were sent to the planet [[Cheyne]]. They stayed with a family of [[Vrobian]]s who were persecuted by the local law enforcement, but over a period of time, Override and the others forgot their original mission, their past, and perhaps even their names! Fortunately, [[Dogfight]] discovered that the Vrobians were psychic vampires, putting the Autobots under their mental control. When [[G.I. Joe (team)|G.I. Joe]] sent word to Optimus Prime that [[Cobra]] had rebuilt [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]], he sent a group of Autobots that included Override to fight him. After several of them were destroyed, Override's job was to distract Megatron while [[Skydive (G1 Aerialbot)|Skydive]] was loaded into the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]]. The '''Go-Bots''' are a cross-factional subgroup of land-based Transformers whose [[alternate mode]]s are finely tuned for maximum speed. Several Transformers have had their forms altered to gain these benefits even at the cost of reducing their advantages in other areas. :Released in 1995, the ''[[Generation 2 (franchise)|Generation 2]]'' Go-Bots are small 1:64-scale Transformers cars, the same size as "Matchbox" and "Hot Wheels" brand cars. In fact, Go-Bots were developed to be used with tracks and playsets from those brands, sharing the same smooth-rolling axle/wheel construction that lets the toys be quickly zipped along smooth surfaces.

:During ''Generation 2'', three different sets of Go-Bots were released. The initial set consisted of 6 original molds, each representing a new character. The second set was largely the same, replacing all of the transparent plastics with opaques of the same colors. Firecracker and Blowout were replaced by [[Optimus Prime (G1)/toys|Optimus Prime]] and [[Megatron (G1)/toys|Megatron]] in this set.

:As was the case for most of late ''Generation 2'', the complete set of six were completely [[redeco]]ed and made into new versions of returning [[Generation 1 (franchise)|Generation 1]] characters.

:For [[BotCon 1995]], an [[exclusive]] redeco of High Beam was released as [[Nightracer]]. A second set of six new molds were developed for late ''Generation 2''. Though four of these toys had been given complete paint jobs and were apparently ready to be released, the ''Generation 2'' line was ended before they could be released. One of them appears to be a new form for the Generation 1 [[Decepticon]] [[Rumble (G1)#Generation_2_2|Rumble]], as the toy had a tampograph with "Rumble" on its side. The other three were given the designations "[[:Image:G2Go-BotGTPRacer.jpg|GTP Racer]]", "911 Police Car", and "Black Viper" in the [[BotCon 1996]] "Toys For Tots" charity auction listings, but otherwise have no known characters associationed with them.

These same four molds would later finally see retail release in the ''Robots in Disguise'' line, as the Spy Changers [[:Image:RID-toy_Daytonus.jpg|Daytonus]], [[:Image:Prowl2 RID toy.jpg|Prowl (2)]], [[:Image:RID Side Burn Spychanger Toy.jpg|Side Burn]], and [[:Image:RID-toy_SideSwipe.jpg|Side Swipe]], then later as Generation 1 characters for the ''[[Universe (2003 toyline)|Universe]]'' line.

The other two molds appear to have been separated from the sprues during the original development cycle, and their future release remains unlikely. One transformed into a pink Mercedes-Benz SL500 sport coupé, and the other a lime green off-road 4WD vehicle.

An early prototype of a Go-Bot "Racing Rig" has surfaced, with a proposed redeco of Gearhead as [[Greasepit (G2)|Greasepit]]. All information suggests this toy never made it past the hand-made, hand-painted state. {{-}}

*Even more than the [[Cyberjet]]s, it's not clear what truly distinguishes a Go-Bot from a more ordinary automotive Transformer, as they have yet to appear in any fiction beyond their [[bio]]s. (The sole possible exception, High Beam, was no longer a Go-Bot by the time of his appearance with the [[Maximal Command Security Force]].)
