'''Scrapper''' is one of the [[Constructicon (Animated)|Constructicons]]. Once, he and his pal [[Mixmaster (Animated)|Mix]] were just a pair of construction vehicles, but a pair of [[AllSpark (Animated)|AllSpark]] fragments changed all that. Though not the sharpest tool in the box, he does know construction like nobody's business. Like his compadre, he has an innate knack for grasping construction projects, and upon seeing a set of blueprints can get right to work. He doesn't want much out of life, just some oil to fill him up after a hard day's work and maybe a nice car to catcall.

Scrapper and his good buddy Mix were spontaneously brought to life by [[AllSpark (Animated)|AllSpark]] shards embedded in them. Though not quick on the uptake, the two Constructobots were able to name themselves and quickly hit the ground running...after attractive sports cars. When Scrapper noticed a construction accident about to harm [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]], he pulled over with his friend and intervened. Tidying up the construction site with a fair amount of skill, he befriended the large Autobot and pressured him into going off for an oil break...from a nearby oil tanker. After expressing his misgivings about stealing oil, Bulkhead took the two Constructobots to the old auto factory to meet the other Autobots. Scrapper and Mixmaster proved too rough around the edges even for [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet's]] tastes, and their cavorting woke up [[Sari Sumdac]]. He and Mixmaster shared a laugh over the Autobots' "pet" while [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] asked Bulkhead why he was bringing "strangers" to their base (thus proving to be none too observant in the search for AllSpark fragments himself). Scrapper then went back to drinking oil and so flubbed a catch in a game of oil-barrel-lid frisbee. The disc severed Sari's pigtails, so Scrap found himself and Mixmaster kicked out the factory by Prime.

Dejected, Mixmaster and Scrapper happened upon [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]] and [[Lugnut (Animated)|Lugnut]] stealing construction supplies...very ineffectively. Once again, they intervened just before someone could get hurt, saving Blitzwing from getting creamed by the load he was carrying. Scrapper then heard approaching police sirens, which Blitzwing told them was a quitting bell, meaning they could go home. Scrap and Mixmaster indicated they didn't have a home, so their two new buddies offered to let the Constructobots come home with them, saying the pair would be welcome to stay as long as they hauled the heavy trailers of supplies. As Scrapper obligingly pushed the supply containers uphill and out of earshot, he didn't hear Blitzwing ease Lugnut's concerns about [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron's]] disapproval by assuring him that he'd take the two new bots offline once the heavy lifting was done. After the load was hauled, Scrapper was all set for an oily reward, unaware Lugnut was about to use [[Punch of Kill Everything|his signature punch]] upon him and Mixmaster, when Megatron intervened. Scrapper followed Megatron into the Decepticons' inner sanctum, where he noted that the Decepticons had a [[Isaac Sumdac|pet]] as well. Then Megatron had the "pet" show Scrapper the [[space bridge]] schematics. He and Mixmaster immediately knew exactly what supplies would be needed to complete the bridge, as well as where they could be obtained.

The next day, Scrapper and Mixmaster "acquired" (stole) a load of construction materials and were fleeing pursuit by [[Sumdac Systems]] police robots when they ran into Bulkhead again. Stopping the chase, Bulkhead asked them what they were doing, and the Constructobots, being trusting souls, ''told'' him. Scrapper couldn't figure out why Bulky was so upset they were working for the Decepticons until Bulkhead said Megatron was trying to put one over on them. Mix and Scrapper weren't about to stand still for ''that'', and they sped off to settle the score. Their initial complaints didn't go over well, as the Decepticon leader proved far less gentle and jovial, slamming them up against the mountainside near the mine. When he and Mixmaster said ''why'' they were angry, though, Megatron turned on the sweet talk again, spinning a tale of Autobot oppression. This proved a bit high-concept for Scrapper, but then Megatron offered to explain it over a few barrels of oil. This proved far more Scrap and Mixmaster's speed, and soon they were guzzling away while Megatron once again pitched the space bridge project.

Showing up at the auto factory, Scrapper joined Mixmaster in revealing that they were indeed working for Megatron, since Megatron had better oil. Showing there were no hard feelings, they said they weren't about to hurt the Autobots, just come pick up the AllSpark fragments and be on their way. Optimus Prime objected, but Mixmaster called him a dipstick and knocked over the 98-ton-weakling. A fight broke out, and Scrapper tackled Prowl—without much success. Scrapper picked himself up while Mixmaster ransomed [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] for the fragments. However, once Bulkhead handed over the fragments, Scrapper had no trouble accepting Bulky's offer to have "one for the road." Of course, he didn't know Bulkhead had secretly slipped him and Mixmaster some tainted oil, contaminated by the expired fixative that Bulkhead had saved. As Scrapper and Mixmaster ran off, Mix began feeling a little queasy. Scrapper teased him about not being able to hold his oil, until he started feeling the effects too. The bad oil reacted explosively, knocking out him and Mixmaster so the Autobots could reclaim the fragments. The blast also scrambled their memories, so when Scrapper came to, he didn't know who the big, angry guy was or why he was ranting about someone named Megatron and flinging his wrecking ball at them. Continuing to function, Scrapper and "Mix" resumed their obnoxious lifestyle, including oil consumption, attacking Marrmaba Brothers, Detroit's downtown auto supply store. Taking 100 barrels of motor oil with them, they quickly became the highlight of the local news, and the Autobots' attention.

Evading the police, Scrap and Mix found the trail of Bumblebee's leaking lubricant and followed it to find the source, no doubt with oil. Arriving at the undefended Autobot base, Scrapper quickly wondered how to bypass the door, but Mixmaster simply unleashed a torrent of acidic liquid, creating "a door" for them to enter. As they entered the base (quickly finding it so familiar), they ran into Sari, left behind by the Autobots. Scrap was subsequently attacked by a barrage of sound from Sari screaming after Mix asked her about where to find some local oil. Sari made her escape and trapped Scrap under a large gate, and was rescued by Mixmaster. Scrapper wanted to make an escape, but Mixmaster told him obviously Sari was hiding some primo oil, and he should grow a backhoe and follow the Autobot sidekick.

Continuing their search, they went into Sari's room and destroyed her handheld communicator, cutting her off from the Autobots. Not finding Sari, who was hiding in her bed, they continued to the Autobots' recreational area, as Scrapper admired the Autobots' large flat screen. Sari came bursting in to attack them with a hockey stick, but her plan sadly did not have a Plan B, and escaped. Mix replied she should come out, they wouldn't hurt her... much. They continued their search and found a stockpile of oil, guarded by Sari. Scrapper knew it was a trap, but was goaded by Mixmaster into getting the oil, and tripping on some oil. Scrap continued to not anger the human, but obviously Mix did not listen, and got pounded by the factory assembly line. After the beating, Mixmaster finally said NO oil could be worth this, much to Scrapper's chagrin, who had declared this all along. On the run from the Autobots once more, Scrap and Mix were intercepted by Blitzwing, who was sent by Megatron to bring them back. After giving them a barrel of the Decepticon premium oil, Blitzwing said there was plenty more where that came from. Remembering this from their prior visit with the Decepts, they then left, with Blitzwing.... {{storylink|Sari, No One's Home}}

With Megatron supervising, Scrapper and his buddy Mix later helped the Decepticons finish their space bridge. Their reward was a painful [[branding]] as part of officially becoming Decepticons themselves. When Bulkhead was captured and brought to Megatron, he begged the Constructicons for help, but thanks to the tainted oil having blanked their memories, neither Scrapper nor Mixmaster recognized him. Scrapper later suffered having to haul around some heavy spage bridge parts with Mixmaster while Bulkhead and Professor Sumdac argued over where the parts should go. He soon got sick of it and joined his buddy in an oil break. Before he could relish the moment, [[Starscream (Animated)|Starscream]] and [[Starscream clone (Animated)|a bunch of off-colored lookalikes]] broke into the base from above. {{storylink|A Bridge Too Close, Part I}}

Megatron ordered Scrapper to provide him backup against Starscream's clones, apparently surprising him enough that he loosened his grip and lost his prisoners. Though Mixmaster had been ordered to find Blitzwing and Lugnut, he got busy plastering Starscreams and Autobots with his cement, so Scrapper found and freed the two Decepticons instead. He later cheered on Megatron's victory (despite having no idea what this "Cybertron" thing was anyway). The Autobot ship itself then arrived to attack, and Scrapper was ordered to help Mixmaster clear rubble from around the space bridge. Things really started to fall apart when the Space Bridge malfunctioned. Scrapper was last seen with Mix, heroically trying to save the oil from a cave-in. {{storylink|A Bridge Too Close, Part II}}

With Megatron disappearing in the space bridge incident, Scrapper and Mixmaster spent their free time drinking oil and watching sexy cars take their parts off until Bulkhead approached them with an offer to build another bridge. The Constructicons weren't too keen on working with Autobots, but eventually accepted when Bulkhead told them that no other Decepticons would ever learn about it. While cleaning up in [[Sumdac Tower]], however, Scrapper dug up [[Dirt Boss (Animated)|Dirt Boss]]—a new forklift Constructicon, recently given life by some AllSpark fragments just like Scrapper and Mixmaster. Dirt Boss immediately exerted his dominion over the other Constructicons, but Scrapper was none too impressed by the diminutive robot... until it took control of his motor functions and forced him to beat himself up until he admitted that Dirt Boss was the boss.

However, Dirt Boss had no interest in building space bridges, as he had a grand plan to take over Detroit by hijacking energy resources—a plan Scrapper and Mixmaster agreed on when they realized that oil was a prime energy resource. After the Constructicons spent the night stealing huge amounts of oil, Dirt Boss revealed the next step of his plan: destroying the [[Fossil Fuel]] oil refinery plant, forcing the city to come to ''him'' for their oil needs. While Bulkhead alone failed to stop them, they were soon confronted by the other Autobots. After a one-on-one with Bumblebee, Scrapper accidentally got his drill arm stuck in Mixmaster's mixing drum, causing a few sparks that set fire to the facility. Unable to stop the flames from reaching a giant oil tank that the Constructicons had climbed up on, the Autobots attached a [[plasmadynamic thruster]] to the whole thing, causing it to [[transwarp]] out into [[Lake Erie]] and explode, with Scrapper, Mixmaster and Dirt Boss still on it. {{storylink|Three's a Crowd}}

Scrapper washed ashore on [[Dinobot Island (Animated)|Dinobot Island]] following the oil rig explosion, but was separated from his fellow Constructicons. He wasn't alone though. One of the [[Dinobot (Animated)|Dinobot]]s had found him and Scrapper took to treating him like a pet. Naming the giant triceratops "[[Snarl (Animated)|Snarl]]" (guess he didn't like Slag), Scrap had taken to a more relaxing lifestyle, when Sari found him while trying to enlist in the other Dinobots help to defeat [[Soundwave (Animated)|Soundwave]] and save her friends. After promises of some high-grade oil and a few threats, the trio sailed back to [[Detroit]] on a makeshift raft. On the way, some [[Wreck-Gar (Animated)|nutso pile of junk]] jumped out of the water and teamed up with them.

After coming ashore, the "[[Substitute Autobot|Substitute Autobots]]" went to confront Soundwave, feeling confident because they not only outnumbered that overgrown music box, but they also had the element of surprise. Of course, when Soundwave burst out of the ground and sent the reprogrammed Autobots out to fight them, they were feeling a lot less confident. At first, the "real" Autobots kicked their substitutes' cans, until some smart thinking from the team's leader left Soundwave's control over the Autobots a bit lacking. Of course, when he was left with no one but Optimus, he regained the upper hand, picking up Snarl by the horns and slamming into the street. Scrap called out the Autobot for cruelty to Dinobots, but was quickly taken out of the fight when the two got crushed by a billboard.

After the Autobots were freed and Soundwave got his skidplate handed to him by Optimus Prime, Scrapper decided heroics was too much work for him (and no overtime), so he decided to take a long vacation. He tried to ride Snarl back to Dinobot Island, but the big lug kicked him off and forced him to drive back. {{storylink|Human Error, Part II}}

Later, after the Autobots captured the Decepticons and returned to Cybertron, Scrapper discovered that Dirt Boss and Mixmaster had survived the oil fuel tank explosion and was reunited with them. '''Mixmaster''' (or "'''Mix'''" to his friends) seems to be the ''de facto'' leader of the [[Constructicon (Animated)|Constructicons]]. Not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, he spends his time overindulging in oil and [[Side Burn (RID)|whistling at passing cars]] with his buddy, [[Scrapper (Animated)|Scrapper]]. Mix isn't a bad sort at heart, always willing to help a fellow 'bot, but his moral compass is apparently guided by whoever's got the best oil to offer. For all their seeming unsophistication, he and Scrapper still have an innate knack for construction-related activities. They can slap together a sturdy construct out of raw materials in seconds, and just by looking at a set of blueprints, even incomplete ones, they can tell just what's needed to get the job done. In addition to the abilities he shares with his partner, Mixmaster can also create any number of chemical concoctions in the churning belly of his mixing drum.

Continuing to function, Mix and Scrapper continued to wander around guzzling fuel, gaining the attention of the Autobots, Decepticons and police; all the while, Mix kept trying to remember where they'd found the "really good oil" last time. Finding a trail of Bumblebee's leaking lubricant, Mix followed it back to Autobot base and quickly burned the door down in order to find any oil in there. He soon came across [[Sari Sumdac|a small fleshy thing]] but when he asked it if it knew where there was any oil, it unleashed a sonic attack to overload their audio sensors.

While Scrapper was scared and wanted to leave, fearing this creature was what had caused their memory loss, Mix was determined to find oil and told his friend to "grow a backhoe". However, their search continuously drew them into conflict with the strange creature; Mix became angry enough to threaten it with violence, ignore all of Scrapper's warnings and then be drawn into a really blatant trap. A severe beating by the factory assembly line finally convinced him that Scrapper was right, no oil was worth this, and the two fled the base.

Luckily [[Blitzwing (Animated)|a nice German guy]] turned up with some barrels of that really good oil, and the Constructicons followed him home. Good thing that small fleshy thing drove them off, or they'd never have met this guy and gone off with him! {{storylink|Sari, No One's Home}}

Under the watchful eye of Megatron, Mixmaster and his buddy Scrapper helped the Decepticons finish their space bridge and were rewarded with being [[Branding|branded]] as Decepticons themselves. Later, Mixmaster encountered Bulkhead, but due to the memory wipe from the spiked oil he and Scrapper drank, neither of them recognized him. Mixmaster proved his worth as a Decepticon warrior after using his quick-drying cement to anchor Prowl and Optimus Prime to the ground when the Autobots invaded the Decepticon base. The feeling of victory was short-lived, as [[Starscream (Animated)|some loud-mouth]] and [[Starscream clone (Animated)|a bunch of oddly colored jets]] broke into the base from above. {{storylink|A Bridge Too Close, Part I}}

Mixmaster, along with Scrapper, then proceed to help Dirt Boss attack an oil tankor (driven by Sparkplug Witwicky), in which they throw him out, and drag the tankor away. This little conflict attracts the atteniton of not only the Detroit Powell Press (Man, Powell's got connections!), but also the Detroit Police Department, as do their continued attacks on ships and gas stations.

Mix is later forced to help Dirt Boss destroy the Detroit Fossil Fuel Refinery, by lighting the oil on fire. Bulkhead refuses to allow this to happen, and tries (but fails) to stop them with his wrecking-ball arm, which ends up getting stuck in Mixmaster's chemical arm. Mixmaster is then forced to drag Bulkhead everywhere he goes, but Bulkhead wasn't entirely useless, as he could be the one to torch the refinery, at the cost of his life. Only problem is...Mixmaster is still attached to him, so he would be destroyed as well. Both Scrapper and Dirt Boss say it's for a worthy cause, which greatly angers Mixmaster. Once the Autobots arrive on the scene, Bulkhead (Having been taken control of by Dirt Boss) is forced to attack the Autobots, using Mixmaster's body as a weapon (Much to Mixmaster's annoyance). Eventually, Bulkhead is freed from Dirt Boss's control, and he manages to separate himself from Mixmaster. Though, Mixmaster is then faced with yet another problem. When Bulkhead managed to get him off, Mix went flying back, and landed right on top of Scrapper, who got his arm stuck in his chemical-dispensing thing in his chest (Man Mix, it is just not your day!) Dirt Boss then proceeded to take them to the top of an oil tank (which is about to explode), and they are transwarped away with it, and are with it when it explodes in the middle of Lake Erie.

Optimus Prime objected, but Mixmaster called him a dipstick and knocked over the 98-ton-weakling. A fight broke out, and Mixmaster went so far as to ransom [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] for the fragments. However, once Bulkhead handed over the fragments, Mixmaster had no trouble accepting Bulky's offer to have "one for the road." The Constructicon trio decide to take over the city by stealing all of the city's oil, much to MIxmaster's, along with Scrapper's, happiness. Mixmaster, along with Scrapper, then proceed to help Dirt Boss attack an oil tankor (driven by Sparkplug Witwicky), in which they throw him out, and drag the tankor away. This little conflict attracts the atteniton of not only the Detroit Powell Press (Man, Powell's got connections!), but also the Detroit Police Department, as do their continued attacks on ships and gas stations.

After a while, Mixmaster, along with Scrapper, begins to enjoy all the oil they've stolen, but Dirt Boss doesn't like that they're drinking it, and tells them it's not for drinking. Mix is later forced to help Dirt Boss destroy the Detroit Fossil Fuel Refinery, by lighting the oil on fire. Bulkhead refuses to allow this to happen, and tries (but fails) to stop them with his wrecking-ball arm, which ends up getting stuck in Mixmaster's chemical arm. Mixmaster is then forced to drag Bulkhead everywhere he goes, but Bulkhead wasn't entirely useless, as he could be the one to torch the refinery, at the cost of his life. Only problem is...Mixmaster is still attached to him, so he would be destroyed as well. Both Scrapper and Dirt Boss say it's for a worthy cause, which greatly angers Mixmaster. Once the Autobots arrive on the scene, Bulkhead (Having been taken control of by Dirt Boss) is forced to attack the Autobots, using Mixmaster's body as a weapon (Much to Mixmaster's annoyance). Eventually, Bulkhead is freed from Dirt Boss's control, and he manages to separate himself from Mixmaster. Though, Mixmaster is then faced with yet another problem. When Bulkhead managed to get him off, Mix went flying back, and landed right on top of Scrapper, who got his arm stuck in his chemical-dispensing thing in his chest (Man Mix, it is just not your day!) Dirt Boss then proceeded to take them to the top of an oil tank (which is about to explode), and they are transwarped away with it, and are with it when it explodes in the middle of Lake Erie.

Having somehow gotten out of the rubble, Mixmaster and Scrapper took refuge in an old car manufacturing plant, where they drooled over in-repair cars. Soon, they were found by Bulkhead, who offered them a job, and after some initial hesistance, they accepted the job. They soon figured out that Bulkhead wasn't lying about the job being big, and it would "run him some serious overtime." Just after they started working, Scrapper found something heavy on the floor that he was picking up rubble from, and it took Mixmaster's help to get it up. What they pulled up was a forklift. But not just any forklift, but a Constructicon forklift, [[Dirt Boss (Animated) |Dirt Boss]]. Dirt Boss easily obtains servants in both Mixmaster & Scrapper after he toys with Scrapper in the classic tease of "Stop hitting yourself". The Constructicon trio decide to take over the city by stealing all of the city's oil, much to MIxmaster's, along with Scrapper's, happiness. Mixmaster, along with Scrapper, then proceed to help Dirt Boss attack an oil tankor (driven by Sparkplug Witwicky), in which they throw him out, and drag the tankor away. This little conflict attracts the atteniton of not only the Detroit Powell Press (Man, Powell's got connections!), but also the Detroit Police Department, as do their continued attacks on ships and gas stations.

After a while, Mixmaster, along with Scrapper, begins to enjoy all the oil they've stolen, but Dirt Boss doesn't like that they're drinking it, and tells them it's not for drinking. Mix is later forced to help Dirt Boss destroy the Detroit Fossil Fuel Refinery, by lighting the oil on fire. Bulkhead refuses to allow this to happen, and tries (but fails) to stop them with his wrecking-ball arm, which ends up getting stuck in Mixmaster's chemical arm. Mixmaster is then forced to drag Bulkhead everywhere he goes, but Bulkhead wasn't entirely useless, as he could be the one to torch the refinery, at the cost of his life. Only problem is...Mixmaster is still attached to him, so he would be destroyed as well. Both Scrapper and Dirt Boss say it's for a worthy cause, which greatly angers Mixmaster. Once the Autobots arrive on the scene, Bulkhead (Having been taken control of by Dirt Boss) is forced to attack the Autobots, using Mixmaster's body as a weapon (Much to Mixmaster's annoyance). Eventually, Bulkhead is freed from Dirt Boss's control, and he manages to separate himself from Mixmaster. Though, Mixmaster is then faced with yet another problem. When Bulkhead managed to get him off, Mix went flying back, and landed right on top of Scrapper, who got his arm stuck in his chemical-dispensing thing in his chest (Man Mix, it is just not your day!) Dirt Boss then proceeded to take them to the top of an oil tank (which is about to explode), and they are transwarped away with it, and are with it when it explodes in the middle of Lake Erie.

After the blast, Scrapper made it to Dinobot Island and lived there for a few weeks, unsure of what fate had befallen Mixmaster and Dirt Boss. {{storylink|Human Error, Part II}} After the Autobots captured the Decepticons and returned to Cybertron, however, it was revealed that the other two Constructicons had also survived, though where they had been wasn't explained. Scrapper and his good buddy Mix were spontaneously brought to life by [[AllSpark (Animated)|AllSpark]] shards embedded in them. Though not quick on the uptake, the two Constructobots were able to name themselves and quickly hit the ground running...after attractive sports cars. When Scrapper noticed a construction accident about to harm [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]], he pulled over with his friend and intervened. Tidying up the construction site with a fair amount of skill, he befriended the large Autobot and pressured him into going off for an oil break...from a nearby oil tanker. After expressing his misgivings about stealing oil, Bulkhead took the two Constructobots to the old auto factory to meet the other Autobots. Scrapper and Mixmaster proved too rough around the edges even for [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet's]] tastes, and their cavorting woke up [[Sari Sumdac]]. He and Mixmaster shared a laugh over the Autobots' "pet" while [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] asked Bulkhead why he was bringing "strangers" to their base (thus proving to be none too observant in the search for AllSpark fragments himself). Scrapper then went back to drinking oil and so flubbed a catch in a game of oil-barrel-lid frisbee. The disc severed Sari's pigtails, so Scrap found himself and Mixmaster kicked out the factory by Prime.

Dejected, Mixmaster and Scrapper happened upon [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]] and [[Lugnut (Animated)|Lugnut]] stealing construction supplies...very ineffectively. Once again, they intervened just before someone could get hurt, saving Blitzwing from getting creamed by the load he was carrying. Scrapper then heard approaching police sirens, which Blitzwing told them was a quitting bell, meaning they could go home. Scrap and Mixmaster indicated they didn't have a home, so their two new buddies offered to let the Constructobots come home with them, saying the pair would be welcome to stay as long as they hauled the heavy trailers of supplies. As Scrapper obligingly pushed the supply containers uphill and out of earshot, he didn't hear Blitzwing ease Lugnut's concerns about [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron's]] disapproval by assuring him that he'd take the two new bots offline once the heavy lifting was done. After the load was hauled, Scrapper was all set for an oily reward, unaware Lugnut was about to use [[Punch of Kill Everything|his signature punch]] upon him and Mixmaster, when Megatron intervened. Scrapper followed Megatron into the Decepticons' inner sanctum, where he noted that the Decepticons had a [[Isaac Sumdac|pet]] as well. Then Megatron had the "pet" show Scrapper the [[space bridge]] schematics. He and Mixmaster immediately knew exactly what supplies would be needed to complete the bridge, as well as where they could be obtained.

The next day, Scrapper and Mixmaster "acquired" (stole) a load of construction materials and were fleeing pursuit by [[Sumdac Systems]] police robots when they ran into Bulkhead again. Stopping the chase, Bulkhead asked them what they were doing, and the Constructobots, being trusting souls, ''told'' him. Scrapper couldn't figure out why Bulky was so upset they were working for the Decepticons until Bulkhead said Megatron was trying to put one over on them. Mix and Scrapper weren't about to stand still for ''that'', and they sped off to settle the score. Their initial complaints didn't go over well, as the Decepticon leader proved far less gentle and jovial, slamming them up against the mountainside near the mine. When he and Mixmaster said ''why'' they were angry, though, Megatron turned on the sweet talk again, spinning a tale of Autobot oppression. This proved a bit high-concept for Scrapper, but then Megatron offered to explain it over a few barrels of oil. This proved far more Scrap and Mixmaster's speed, and soon they were guzzling away while Megatron once again pitched the space bridge project.

Showing up at the auto factory, Scrapper joined Mixmaster in revealing that they were indeed working for Megatron, since Megatron had better oil. Showing there were no hard feelings, they said they weren't about to hurt the Autobots, just come pick up the AllSpark fragments and be on their way. Optimus Prime objected, but Mixmaster called him a dipstick and knocked over the 98-ton-weakling. A fight broke out, and Scrapper tackled Prowl—without much success. Scrapper picked himself up while Mixmaster ransomed [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] for the fragments. However, once Bulkhead handed over the fragments, Scrapper had no trouble accepting Bulky's offer to have "one for the road." Of course, he didn't know Bulkhead had secretly slipped him and Mixmaster some tainted oil, contaminated by the expired fixative that Bulkhead had saved. As Scrapper and Mixmaster ran off, Mix began feeling a little queasy. Scrapper teased him about not being able to hold his oil, until he started feeling the effects too. The bad oil reacted explosively, knocking out him and Mixmaster so the Autobots could reclaim the fragments. The blast also scrambled their memories, so when Scrapper came to, he didn't know who the big, angry guy was or why he was ranting about someone named Megatron and flinging his wrecking ball at them. Continuing to function, Scrapper and "Mix" resumed their obnoxious lifestyle, including oil consumption, attacking Marrmaba Brothers, Detroit's downtown auto supply store. Taking 100 barrels of motor oil with them, they quickly became the highlight of the local news, and the Autobots' attention.

Evading the police, Scrap and Mix found the trail of Bumblebee's leaking lubricant and followed it to find the source, no doubt with oil. Arriving at the undefended Autobot base, Scrapper quickly wondered how to bypass the door, but Mixmaster simply unleashed a torrent of acidic liquid, creating "a door" for them to enter. As they entered the base (quickly finding it so familiar), they ran into Sari, left behind by the Autobots. Scrap was subsequently attacked by a barrage of sound from Sari screaming after Mix asked her about where to find some local oil. Sari made her escape and trapped Scrap under a large gate, and was rescued by Mixmaster. Scrapper wanted to make an escape, but Mixmaster told him obviously Sari was hiding some primo oil, and he should grow a backhoe and follow the Autobot sidekick.

Continuing their search, they went into Sari's room and destroyed her handheld communicator, cutting her off from the Autobots. Not finding Sari, who was hiding in her bed, they continued to the Autobots' recreational area, as Scrapper admired the Autobots' large flat screen. Sari came bursting in to attack them with a hockey stick, but her plan sadly did not have a Plan B, and escaped. Mix replied she should come out, they wouldn't hurt her... much. They continued their search and found a stockpile of oil, guarded by Sari. Scrapper knew it was a trap, but was goaded by Mixmaster into getting the oil, and tripping on some oil. Scrap continued to not anger the human, but obviously Mix did not listen, and got pounded by the factory assembly line. After the beating, Mixmaster finally said NO oil could be worth this, much to Scrapper's chagrin, who had declared this all along. On the run from the Autobots once more, Scrap and Mix were intercepted by Blitzwing, who was sent by Megatron to bring them back. After giving them a barrel of the Decepticon premium oil, Blitzwing said there was plenty more where that came from. Remembering this from their prior visit with the Decepts, they then left, with Blitzwing.... {{storylink|Sari, No One's Home}}

With Megatron supervising, Scrapper and his buddy Mix later helped the Decepticons finish their space bridge. Their reward was a painful [[branding]] as part of officially becoming Decepticons themselves. When Bulkhead was captured and brought to Megatron, he begged the Constructicons for help, but thanks to the tainted oil having blanked their memories, neither Scrapper nor Mixmaster recognized him. Scrapper later suffered having to haul around some heavy spage bridge parts with Mixmaster while Bulkhead and Professor Sumdac argued over where the parts should go. He soon got sick of it and joined his buddy in an oil break. Before he could relish the moment, [[Starscream (Animated)|Starscream]] and [[Starscream clone (Animated)|a bunch of off-colored lookalikes]] broke into the base from above. {{storylink|A Bridge Too Close, Part I}}

Megatron ordered Scrapper to provide him backup against Starscream's clones, apparently surprising him enough that he loosened his grip and lost his prisoners. Though Mixmaster had been ordered to find Blitzwing and Lugnut, he got busy plastering Starscreams and Autobots with his cement, so Scrapper found and freed the two Decepticons instead. He later cheered on Megatron's victory (despite having no idea what this "Cybertron" thing was anyway). The Autobot ship itself then arrived to attack, and Scrapper was ordered to help Mixmaster clear rubble from around the space bridge. Things really started to fall apart when the Space Bridge malfunctioned. Scrapper was last seen with Mix, heroically trying to save the oil from a cave-in. {{storylink|A Bridge Too Close, Part II}}

With Megatron disappearing in the space bridge incident, Scrapper and Mixmaster spent their free time drinking oil and watching sexy cars take their parts off until Bulkhead approached them with an offer to build another bridge. The Constructicons weren't too keen on working with Autobots, but eventually accepted when Bulkhead told them that no other Decepticons would ever learn about it. While cleaning up in [[Sumdac Tower]], however, Scrapper dug up [[Dirt Boss (Animated)|Dirt Boss]]—a new forklift Constructicon, recently given life by some AllSpark fragments just like Scrapper and Mixmaster. Dirt Boss immediately exerted his dominion over the other Constructicons, but Scrapper was none too impressed by the diminutive robot... until it took control of his motor functions and forced him to beat himself up until he admitted that Dirt Boss was the boss.

However, Dirt Boss had no interest in building space bridges, as he had a grand plan to take over Detroit by hijacking energy resources—a plan Scrapper and Mixmaster agreed on when they realized that oil was a prime energy resource. After the Constructicons spent the night stealing huge amounts of oil, Dirt Boss revealed the next step of his plan: destroying the [[Fossil Fuel]] oil refinery plant, forcing the city to come to ''him'' for their oil needs. While Bulkhead alone failed to stop them, they were soon confronted by the other Autobots. After a one-on-one with Bumblebee, Scrapper accidentally got his drill arm stuck in Mixmaster's mixing drum, causing a few sparks that set fire to the facility. Unable to stop the flames from reaching a giant oil tank that the Constructicons had climbed up on, the Autobots attached a [[plasmadynamic thruster]] to the whole thing, causing it to [[transwarp]] out into [[Lake Erie]] and explode, with Scrapper, Mixmaster and Dirt Boss still on it. {{storylink|Three's a Crowd}}

Scrapper washed ashore on [[Dinobot Island (Animated)|Dinobot Island]] following the oil rig explosion, but was separated from his fellow Constructicons. He wasn't alone though. One of the [[Dinobot (Animated)|Dinobot]]s had found him and Scrapper took to treating him like a pet. Naming the giant triceratops "[[Snarl (Animated)|Snarl]]" (guess he didn't like Slag), Scrap had taken to a more relaxing lifestyle, when Sari found him while trying to enlist in the other Dinobots help to defeat [[Soundwave (Animated)|Soundwave]] and save her friends. After promises of some high-grade oil and a few threats, the trio sailed back to [[Detroit]] on a makeshift raft. On the way, some [[Wreck-Gar (Animated)|nutso pile of junk]] jumped out of the water and teamed up with them.

After coming ashore, the "[[Substitute Autobot|Substitute Autobots]]" went to confront Soundwave, feeling confident because they not only outnumbered that overgrown music box, but they also had the element of surprise. Of course, when Soundwave burst out of the ground and sent the reprogrammed Autobots out to fight them, they were feeling a lot less confident. At first, the "real" Autobots kicked their substitutes' cans, until some smart thinking from the team's leader left Soundwave's control over the Autobots a bit lacking. Of course, when he was left with no one but Optimus, he regained the upper hand, picking up Snarl by the horns and slamming into the street. Scrap called out the Autobot for cruelty to Dinobots, but was quickly taken out of the fight when the two got crushed by a billboard.

After the Autobots were freed and Soundwave got his skidplate handed to him by Optimus Prime, Scrapper decided heroics was too much work for him (and no overtime), so he decided to take a long vacation. He tried to ride Snarl back to Dinobot Island, but the big lug kicked him off and forced him to drive back. {{storylink|Human Error, Part II}}

Later, after the Autobots captured the Decepticons and returned to Cybertron, Scrapper discovered that Dirt Boss and Mixmaster had survived the oil fuel tank explosion and was reunited with them.
