Scorn was trapped aboard [[Lockdown (ROTF)|Lockdown]]'s vessel until [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]] and the Autobots stole the section of the ship he was imprisoned on, though Optimus did not reveal the Dinobots' presence to his men until the time came for reinforcements. Optimus offered an ultimatum: stand with the Autobots against their mysterious Creators and [[Galvatron (AOE)|Galvatron]]'s Decepticons, or face death at his hands. [[Grimlock (AOE)|Grimlock]] submitted to his command when beaten in single combat by the Autobot leader, there by earning his respect, and Scorn and the other Dinobots followed suit. Scorn allowed [[Crosshairs (AOE)|Crosshairs]] to ride him into the Hong Kong battle, where Scorn's massive size and lethal sail-spikes proved a great asset in turning the tide. Scorn accompanied the group to try to escort the Seed to safety, but Lockdown returned and turned his tractor beam on them. Scorn would've been recaptured by the bounty hunter had Optimus not destroyed the tractor beam. Scorn helped defend the Seed on a bridge with the other Autobots and Dinobots until Optimus was able to defeat Lockdown. The battle over, Optimus gave the Dinobots their freedom, and Scorn parted with Crosshairs on good terms, who even gave him a new nickname, "Spike".
Scorn seems to take the role of being the largest Dinobot from [[Sludge (disambiguation)|Sludge]], who traditionally fits the bill in most incarnations of the Dinobots.
* Incidentally, a little more than two months after Age of Extinction hit the theater, additional fossils of Spinosaurus was unveiled to the public. The new reconstruction depicts an animal with [http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2014/09/140911-spinosaurus-fossil-discovery-dinosaur-science/ an even larger dorsal sail and incredibly short hindlegs, forcing it to walk on all fours]. This makes Scorn's alternate mode an outdated depiction of ''Spinosaurus''.
Hardhead has a tough time even staying on task long enough to finish a sentence, let alone coordinate a tactical nuclear strike. He can be easily fooled and needs to be constantly reminded of exactly what he’s supposed to be doing. Hardhead, along with [[Hydra (BWN)|Hydra]], broke into the [[Maximal]] ship, the ''[[Gung Ho]]'', to steal the [[Angolmois]] energy within. With all the crew off the ship on an Angolmois capsule hunt, save for [[Longrack (BWN)|Longrack]] and [[Heinrad]], Hardhead threatened Longrack with a sweeping movement of his sword...which accidentally sliced open Hydra's chest. This drew a shocked reaction from Hydra, who demanded an apology. His honor tarnished, Hardhead impaled himself on his own sword, despite Hydra telling him not to, because then there would be no one left to steal the Angolmois energy.

As they lay dying, victims of Hardhead's stupidity, Longrack stood there, boggled as to what the heck just happened. With his dying breath, Hydra gloated that the most important part of their mission was completed...which was later found out to be a bomb aboard the ''Gung Ho''. {{storylink|The Great Old One}}
Opening his dino-mode jaw pops up his skullcap slightly, and using his head as a battering ram pushes down the skullcap and closes his jaw. His tail detaches and separates to form a gear-powered spinning-blade weapon, while the central "tail bone" separates to be used as a sword.
As they lay dying, victims of Hardhead's stupidity, Longrack stood there, boggled as to what the heck just happened. To put it mildly, one could say that '''Hardhead'''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s cranium isn’t exactly crammed with cerebral circuitry. Or one could say that he’s as dumb as a rock. And not one of those cool geodes, either. I mean a big, grey piece of [[Slag (slang)|slag]]. Hardhead has a tough time even staying on task long enough to finish a sentence, let alone coordinate a tactical nuclear strike. He can be easily fooled and needs to be constantly reminded of exactly what he’s supposed to be doing. He can't even pronounce his beast mode's name—although, to be fair, he's not alone there.
To say '''Ratchet''' is the Autobots' medic would be a falsehood. Ratchet ''is'' where [[Optimus Prime (Shattered Glass)|Optimus Prime]] sends the wounded from battle, but not for ''repairs''. No, they are sent there for ''punishment''. Any Autobot ordered there has to be dragged kicking and screaming.

It's not that Ratchet wants to terrorize his patients. In fact, he honestly believes that he's doing them a great favor! Who wouldn't want some rusty old equipment replacing their head? That would look so cool! And he really doesn't understand why they get so upset after seeing the end result of his loving care. But Ratchet shrugs off their cries of protest and confusion. They'll come around eventually.
After a harrowing Dinobot Hunt, [[Rodimus (Shattered Glass)|Rodimus]] woke up on Ratchet's operating table, having lost a hand in a battle with [[Grimlock (Shattered Glass)|Grimlock]] and the [[Decepticons]]. Rodimus, in a panic, immediately tried to leave, and objected to Ratchet's offer to add a second vocoder. It was then that Rodimus noticed that his hand had been not repaired, but replaced with a jagged sawblade. Ratchet was momentarily saddened by Rodimus's dissatisfaction with his "upgrade," but his grin of psychotic amusement returned quickly enough. {{storylink|Dungeons & Dinobots|Dungeons & Dinobots}}
