Hiding behind ruins of the city Mebion, Lio Convoy tightens his grip around his Solipsistic Staff as Maximals and Predacons watch down on the battle between Quickstrike and Stinkbomb. As Quickstrike taunts his prey, Lio muses over his tail in his humanoid form. Deep in thought, Lio doesn't even consider regret over manipulating matches to maintain a balance between the Predacons and the Maximals. It was a higher calling designated upon him by the Builders (former Autobots and Decepticons). As Stinkbomb lunged at Quickstrike, Lio Convoy moved slightly to gain a better view of the battle. As the battle loomed near an end, Stinkbomb raised his weapon, not noticing a broken line causing him to be virtually weaponless. Quickstrike took advantage of his opponents loss and shot Stinkbomb down. Having won Battle MCMXXIII he placed his bootstrut on his fallen opponent and cheered on his victory. Lio Convoy was at peace knowing he had again brought balance to Cybertron.

:Alpha Trion is an Autobot from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Alpha Trion is one of the oldest living Transformers, and with that age comes a nuanced understanding of his race and their place within the universe. In his youth, he went by the name A3, and in this time, he helped lead the enslaved Cybertronians in their rebellion against their cruel masters, the Quintessons. As a result, he was instrumental in first establishing Cybertron as an independent planet.

In his older years, he has found a comfortable role in serving as advisor to other Transformers. Though not taking part in the battles of the Great War, he is firmly on the side of the Autobots, serving as a mentor and guide, especially to Optimus Prime and Elita One. He is an enigmatic old robot, though he is known to be the guardian of Vector Sigma and the custodian of its circuit key. His sage-like manner paints him in almost a mystic tone, and possible connections between Alpha Trion, Primus, and the history of Cybertron itself have boosted him into legendary status.

11 million years ago, a mechanoid named A3 was part of the rebellion against the Quintessons on a factory world, creating a device called the Coda Remote that would stop their Dark Guardians. Due to a timerift created by Quintessons from the future, he was briefly pulled from his position in the Empty Lands into the year 2006. Fortunately, his partner Beta managed to start the rebellion as scheduled, and A3 was soon returned by future Autobots to fulfill his role in Cybertronian history. Forever Is a Long Time Coming (episode)

Years later, he would be given the Matrix of Leadership by the dying Sentinel Prime, but Alpha Trion himself did not become Autobot leader. It would sit in his possession, unused, until the coming of the next Autobot leader. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 4 In the meantime, Alpha Trion developed plans to rebuild Autobots to better combat the escalating Decepticon menace.

The next Autobot leader would actually come to him when a group of time-travelers lugged a dying youth named Orion Pax to his repair center. Reluctant at first, Alpha Trion sensed a strong spirit in Orion Pax, and decided to rebuild him entirely... into Optimus Prime. When Prime asked if Alpha Trion could rebuild his fallen girlfriend Ariel as well, Alpha Trion agreed, and mused that Elita One would be a good name for a female warrior. War Dawn (episode)

Over the intervening millennia, Alpha Trion's two greatest creations, whether by design or coincidence, forgot their relationship to the ancient Autobot. Five million years after his creation, Optimus Prime was lost when his spacecraft crash-landed on prehistoric Earth, but Alpha Trion kept in contact with Elita One, acting as a sagely advisor to her team of Female Autobots as they spent the following four million years stealing energon from Shockwave. Eventually, in the Earth year 1985, Shockwave caught the Female Autobots in the act and tracked them back to their headquarters, prompting Elita One to consult with Alpha Trion on a course of action. Trion suggested they move their headquarters, telling Elita to scout for a new location alone, but in the event that she encountered the Decepticons, warned her not to use her life-draining time-freezing power. Alas, Elita was captured, and used by the Decepticons to lure Optimus Prime into a trap. To save her beloved's life, Elita used her fatal power, and the Autobot leader was forced to track Alpha Trion to his secret base in hopes that he could save her. Alpha Trion repaired her to the best of his ability, but revealed to Optimus Prime that only Prime could save Elita by interfacing to her with his power filter. An astonished Optimus Prime stated that only his creator could know that! The Search for Alpha Trion

A short time later, while he was looking for a misplaced tool, Alpha Trion was attacked in his workshop by Megatron and his Decepticons, who demanded that he hand over the Key to Vector Sigma. Trion pled ignorance, but Megatron knew better, and the elderly Autobot was soon overpowered while the Decepticons made off with the key. Alpha Trion was rescued from the chunk of metal the Decepticons left him stuck in by Optimus Prime and the Autobots, and after his injuries were repaired by Wheeljack and Ratchet, he journeyed with them into Cybertron's depths, leading the way to Vector Sigma's chamber. Their way, however, was barred by Centurion droids that Megatron used the Key to command, and Alpha Trion helped reactivate some discarded worker robots to fight the droids off. The droids had done their job, however, and prevented the Autobots from reaching Megatron before he used Vector Sigma to bring his newest Decepticons, the Stunticons to life. To combat these new land-based Decepticons, Optimus Prime hit on the idea of creating some new aerial Autobots, and Alpha Trion set to work reconstructing some Cybertronian aircraft. The Key to Vector Sigma, Part 1 When the work was done, Alpha Trion professed that he had another key to Vector Sigma "on him," and he would use it to reactivate the computer so that it could bring the jets to life. His "key," however, was his own life force: as a first generation product of Vector Sigma, his computation matrix could interface with the computer and bring it back online, at the cost of his own continued existence. Optimus Prime tried to stop him, but Alpha Trion refused to listen, reminding Prime that he was his creator and insisting that the jets were more important that he was. Prime relented, and Alpha Trion merged with Vector Sigma, which activated and brought the new Aerialbots to life. Before Prime and the Autobots departed for Earth, Alpha Trion spoke to them through Vector Sigma, warning them of a fact merging with the computer had revealed to him: on Earth, the Key to Vector Sigma had even greater power. The Key to Vector Sigma, Part 2

Many years later, when the Hate Plague was raging throughout the universe in the year 2006, Optimus Prime entered the Matrix to consult the ancient Autobots within on a possible cure. The following year, after the Decepticons stole the Key to the Plasma Energy Chamber, Optimus Prime used the Matrix to reactivate Vector Sigma so that he could converse with Alpha Trion, hoping that the old sage knew something more about what was going on. Alpha Trion revealed to Prime that Vector Sigma had allowed Galvatron to become aware of the key's existence, as the chamber was key to the dawning of a new Golden Age for Cybertron... as was the merging of an Autobot's life with that of a human's. The Rebirth, Part 2
In the year 2011, one year after Optimus Prime released the energy of the Matrix to cure the Hate Plague, Vector Sigma began to destabilize as a result. Optimus Prime voyaged into the planet's depths to try and bring the computer back under control, but the mission seemed doomed to failure, as he did not have the Matrix to help him. While the other Autobots searched Earth for the Matrix, which had been hidden away to recharge, the spectral form of Alpha Trion appeared to Optimus Prime to help lead him through the many dangers blocking the path to Vector Sigma's chamber. The Mystery of Planet Master When they finally reached their goal, however, it turned out the Decepticons had beaten them there. Hot Rod was not far behind, with the recovered Matrix in his grasp, and when the young Autobot arrived, Alpha Trion instructed him to hold the talisman aloft. Trion's ethereal form flowed into the Matrix, completing its recharging process and transforming Hot Rod back into Rodimus Prime, who joined Optimus in thrashing the Decepticons. Birth of the Fantastic Double Prime
Over the next ten years, the Decepticon insurrection became more fierce. Councilor Magnum continued to champion his Elite Guard, a series of strike teams dedicated to hunting down the Decepticon Warlords to cut the many heads off the serpent. Councilor Alpha Trion, however, favored his own Prime Initiative, a general of sorts who would oversee the entire Autobot army as a unified force against the Decepticons. The Coming Storm: Part 2

Despite their political differences, Alpha Trion and Magnum worked together as the situation called for it. When a group of civilian scientists and historians needed demolitions assistance at a dig site in Median, Alpha Trion requested the help of Magnum's Elite Guard for the job. Of course, he neglected to mention some of the finer points of the mission, but such is politics. Flames of Yesterday
After Dion and Magnum were injured in a Decepticon attack, they were taken to Alpha Trion. As the war drained Cybertron's energy to dangerously low levels, Optimus left the planet on a mission to find more energy. Alpha Trion prepared stasis pods within which most of the remaining Autobot population would hibernate. As they placed the other Autobots in the pods, he warned Kup that remaining online during periods of low energy as he intended to do would greatly accelerate the aging process. Battle Lines, Part 6

Countless ages ago, Alpha Trion explored the entire surface of Cybertron with the legendary Titan, Metroplex. Omega's Conundrum

Alpha Trion approached Galvatron during the 43rd Day of the Battle of Aegiax to propose that the Ancient Barbarian unite the Thirteen warring tribes of Cybertron. Earthfall Part 3: The Mind Bomb After approaching Galvatron, Alpha Trion led the Barbarian to to the headquarters of Prima, the Citadel of Light. There, Alpha Trion stood by and watched as Galvatron and the only remaining survivor of Prima's clan, a young 'bot named Nova Major, single-handedly slaughtered the bestial forces of Onyx Prime. After the battle was over, Alpha Trion approached Nova and Galvatron. When Nova demanded to know who Alpha Trion was, Trion calmly revealed himself to be the last remaining member of the original thirteen Cybertronians.

Nova was not quick to believe Trion, but soon accepted the truth after being pummelled into submission by Trion, seemingly confirming the rumor that only a Prime could defeat another Prime. Alpha Trion was quick to correct him, claiming that although a Prime could be defeated by a non-Prime, they could only be killed by another Prime, and that there were no other Primes left on Cybertron. Nova, finding this hard to believe, suggested that they go to Onyx Prime's castle in Kalis to see if Onyx had disappeared as Trion claimed. When they arrived, they found their way into the castle blocked by Onyx Prime's last surviving follower and gatekeeper of his castle, Rhinox of the Mournsong. Although Rhinox tried to bar their way, he was quickly intimidated into submission by Galvatron, and let them pass, already knowing they would find Onyx gone. As Rhinox wondered aloud what would become of them, Nova announced his plan to take control, with a vision of a united Cybertron with no tribes dividing its people. Alpha Trion, feeling this was the best course of action for Cybertron's people, gladly stood aside and let Nova assume the title of Prime.

After taking control of Cybertron, Nova directed his attentions to decoding the secrets of the Thirteen; chiefly, Nexus Prime's Enigma of Combination. Galvatron was the only one of them who didn't want to uncover the Enigma, and continually insisted that the Enigma was gone, just like its creator. Trion became curious by Galvatron's claims, and questioned him, pointing out that everyone except Galvatron talked of the Enigma as if it were merely a concept, but Galvatron spoke of it as a physical object. One look in Galvatron's eyes provided Alpha with all the explanation he needed to arrive at the answer. The Crucible

He blessed Nova Prime's Ark before its departure from the planet six million years ago. Dark Dawn: Dark Cybertron Chapter 1 Following the disappearance of the vessel and its crew, memorial lectures were held in honor of Nova, during which Alpha Trion held a speech about Primus. Primus: You, Me, and Other Revelations

Alpha Trion attended the funerals of Bumper and Fastback, accompanied by Orion Pax, Elita One, and Ultra Magnus. Megatron Origin issue 3

Because of Alpha Trion's intimate knowledge of Cybertron's surface, he accompanied Orion Pax and Nightbeat on a mission into the treacherous Rust Spot to swap Decepticon prisoners for the captured Ratchet. This was merely a ruse to draw out Alpha Trion, who the Decepticons wanted in order to help locate Metroplex. Due to Orion Pax's valiant actions, Alpha Trion and the other Autobots escaped with their lives. Omega's Conundrum

Once Orion Pax had become Optimus Prime, he broadcasted a message to all Cybertronians, asking them to join him in the fight against the Decepticon oppression. Alpha Trion watched this broadcast with interest from the archives of Kutanzuule. Broadcast He soon came in contact with the young Prime to offer him advice and guidance in his early days as Autobot leader. Derelicts When Optimus blamed himself for being unable to stop the Exodus, Alpha Trion assured him that sometimes a leader's role is to let their followers go and make their own decisions. The Illusion of Control

500,000 years ago, Alpha Trion chose to leave Cybertron together with Metroplex, partly to keep the Titan out of Decepticon hands, but also to investigate and stop whatever scheme Shockwave had put into motion out in space. Earthfall Part 1: Hello Cruel World They didn't return until after Cybertron had been rendered virtually uninhabitable by normal Transformers because of the war, so Alpha Trion began working to restore it all by himself. The isolation evidently did not do the wise old Autobot any good, as he seemed to have more than a few screws loose and had become tremendously self-aggrandizing by the year 2010.

Operating out of Metroplex, Trion spent "dozens of meta-cycles" processing the corrosive elements out of Cybertron's atmosphere, slowly making it habitable again, but was still faced with the problem of the monstrous Insecticon swarm that had overrun the planet. Requiring the toughest of the tough to obliterate the swarm, Alpha Trion selected Ironhide to do the job. That Ironhide was across the galaxy on Earth mattered little: Ironhide would eventually die some day, Trion rationalized, and so he built a duplicate body on Cybertron into which he could implant Ironhide's spark and memories once he passed on and returned to the "core". With Vector Sigma having been essentially erased in the event that devastated Cybertron, this took Alpha Trion years and pushed his skills to their limit, but once Ironhide died on Earth in 2010, the ancient Autobot's grand work was complete, and Ironhide returned to life on Cybertron in the new body constructed for him. Any Old Iron

Ironhide awoke in confusion, his memories incomplete due to damage he had suffered millions of years beforehand that had disrupted his link to the core, and wandered Cybertron's wastes until Alpha Trion dispatched his page to bring the befuddled warrior to the city-mode Metroplex. Alpha Trion took umbrage at the fact Ironhide had never heard of his ancient greatness, and revealed his incredible powers over his own electromagnetic aura by using it to control Ironhide's actions when the ornery Autobot started to get a little rough. Ironhide further tested Trion's patience when he ignored his cautions and ventured out to track down the near-dead Sunstreaker (even if Sunstreaker had heard of him). Finally, Trion relented to Ironhide's constant questioning and explained the reason he had brought him back online: to exterminate the swarm. Ironing Out the Details While Ironhide took out of most of the swarm in a brutal battle, Trion busied himself repairing Sunstreaker. After Ironhide returned, Trion announced that he and Metroplex were leaving Cybertron for parts unknown while Ironhide mopped up the remaining Insecticons. Infuriated by the old 'bots condescending attitude, Ironhide slugged him one, but Alpha Trion let it slide, putting Ironhide in his place by telling him he was just a small playing piece in a very large game. Before departing, however, Alpha Trion softened, congratulating Ironhide on saving the entire planet. After all, the only other Autobot would could make that claim... was he. Any Old Iron

At some point, Alpha Trion left Metroplex's side to search for a "Holy Grail", a quest of such importance that he was unable to turn back and help when his Titan companion was infected with an alchemical virus. Coming across the Vis Vitalis, he convinced the Camiens, Cityspeaker Windblade and her compatriots Chromia and Nautica, to aid the injured Metroplex in his place. Burning Bright: Dark Cybertron Chapter 8A 'Bot and Her City Alongside this task Alpha Trion tasked the three with delivering a single word message to Optimus Prime- Earth. Earthfall Part 1: Hello Cruel World Shockwave saw Alpha Trion in a vision of things that would come to pass during the Dark Cybertron prophecy. Dark Dawn: Dark Cybertron Chapter 1
Notes
* Alpha Trion is one of the very few Cybertronians to show signs of aging and hair growth.
* According to a note in Japan's Comic Bom Bom magazine, A3 was the first successful Cybertronian, A1 and A2 being failures. However, the presence of Cybertronians within the Matrix of Leadership older than Alpha Trion (as seen in "The Return of Optimus Prime") makes the actual canonicity of this questionable.
*Alpha Trion may be named after the Triple-Alpha Process, the method through which carbon is created, which in turn is the reason (human) life came to be. Given that Alpha Trion essentially "created" Optimus Prime, who in turn formed the Autobots, this is actually quite fitting.

* Alpha Trion had a hover-craft alternate mode designed for his appearance in The Transformers: Ironhide, but ultimately didn't end up transforming in that mini-series. The vehicle mode was first revealed in the trade paperback's extras, and would eventually be used in-contunity as part of a flashback sequence in "The Mind Bomb"
Just wondering if these pages are going to get general Series Summaries/Overviews at some point? Fact is for a variety of reasons I havn't watched a TF toon regularly since the middle of Armada so I'd really love detailed summaries of Energon and Cybertron (and the end of Arm. to make it up here.

Well, yes, eventually. I think the problem is, though, MOST of us were utterly lost or disinterested with the Energon cartoon, so, well, even summarising is going to be tricky. Persoanlly, I can't even remember which epsiode is which... at least with Armada and cybertron there are "guides" available (Micron Legend Yearbook and the CN site)... ==Negatives==
Man, I have a list a mile wide of things that were wrong about the show in general. I've been resisting adding a sentence about how all vehicle modes were immune to gravity-- nay, all physics, allowing even Hot Shot to float through the air at his whim, negating any reason for differing vehicle modes. --ItsWalky 21:33, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
:It's incredibly tempting to say "toss it in there". I mean, as it stands, the article makes it sound like the dub was the only thing wrong with the show, which is, not to put to fine a point on it, a phenomenal pile of steaming bullshit. Hell, the pacing apparently didn't even appeal to JAPAN, what with Galaxy Force at first pretending the previous shows didn't exist. --M Sipher 21:39, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
::Yeah, I just watched a later ep on YouTube ("Improsoned Inferno" [sic!]). Snowcat and Demolishor just transform and drive off into the air. ==Featured Characters Classifications==
Question regarding featured characters: What are opinions on how Terrorcons and Mini-Cons should be handled?
* For instance, Scorponok, while briefly conscipted into the Decepticon forces, was pretty explicitely not a Decepticon, neither at the beginning of the series, nor after Megatron tied him up and sent him into the energon grid as bait. Therefore, I've had him listed as a Terrorcon (or, "Other") at the beginning, a Decepticon after Megatron beat him and branded him, and then as a Terrorcon again after pretty clearly defecting.
* The Mini-Cons, while working for the Autobots, are still a separate faction.--Shellspark 17:59, 26 March 2009 (EDT)
Do Energon fans exist?
Surely there must be some, statistically. There are THOUSANDS of Transfans: some must have enough tolerance for bad dubbing, poor animation, and incoherent scripting to find some kinda jewels beneath.

So should the article be made more balanced to reflect their concerns? If they exist? I say so only because at the moment the entire thing is a merciless leap at the series' jugular... Black Mage
:There've been a dozen Transformers series. One of them has to be the worst. That's Energon.
:Sometimes there's debate about which series is the worst-- TF has quite a few stinker or unpopular incarnations after all. The thing is... there isn't debate about it anymore. Energon settled the issue, just like Kiss Players settled the "raping my childhood" debate by actually raping your childhood. Energon is the worst Transformers series by such a wide and universal margin... there's no point in pretending it's otherwise.
:It's the worst cartoon I've ever seen on TV. Not the worst Transformers cartoon-- the worst cartoon. Of anything. Even amid a sea of crap, Energon would sink near the bottom.
:There are people who think history has been unkind to Adolph Hitler. "You should be more evenhanded," they say, "or at least stop spreading rumors that one of his testicles was bitten off by a goat when he was a child."
:You can say the constant negative tone is making the article less informative-- I might agree with you-- but the fact remains that Adolph Hitler became a vegitarian because he couldn't chew meat without thinking of that goat's teeth crunching down on his left nut, masticating it, grinding it up into a fine Austrian paste... then swallowing.
:Maybe that'll teach him not to try to have sex with a goat. (By which I mean-- that will, and has taught Hasbro not to co-produce with Japan. I don't think they will ever attempt it again.) -Derik 04:26, 4 May 2009 (EDT)
Change of director?
One thought has struck me of what could be the reason for Energon's decline.
According to Anime News Network, the director of Transformers Energon is Jun Kawagoe who has actually directed some awesome animes. New Getter Robo, SRW OG - The Animation, Koutetsushin Jeeg and Mazinkaiser SKL. All awesome shows but also short ones.

It also says there was a second director, Yutaka Sato .

My theory is that Kawagoe might be better at directing short series. Because when you think of it, the first half or quarter of Energon is very fastpaced, there's a lot of action, development and revelations. Then it falls apart.

Is it possible that Kawagoe could have directed the first part of Energon and eventually reached his limit, and then handed it over to Sato who might be a complete hack or didn't know what to do with the plot?

But this is just my theory and I could be completely wrong. But if it seems possible, could it be something worth mentioning on the Plotting section in Critisism? 217.210.162.147
:According to here and here, Kawagoe only directed the first two episodes, and Sato only did direction on the first episode in cooperation with Kawagoe. Both Kawagoe and Sato were supervisors on the show, but Sato left after ep 5 and Kawagoe left after ep 13. The supervisor on eps "6..." (I assume 6 to the end) was "佐野隆史", which auto-translators render as "Takashi Sano". He storyboarded 13 out of the 52 episodes, but only directed 4. As such, I don't think anything can be blamed on Sato. --Monzo 15:03, 22 January 2012 (EST)
Timeline
So, the Wiki states that Energon takes place 10 years after Armada. However, I just started rewatching Energon and in his introductory speech, Optimus Prime says that it's been 20 years since the war ended with the Deceptions, which seems to be the ending of Armada since it shows footage of Unicron's destruction. The Quintessons are a bizarre and ancient race, whose dark history and shadowy machinations are bound up with the history of the Transformers, with connections to both Primus and Unicron. However, the Quintessons themselves have zero fighting abilities and are absolute cowards if they have nothing to hide behind. The most prominent and famous type of Quintesson, as well as the apparent "leaders" of the race, are the Judges, also referred to as the Imperial Magistrates. Judges have inverted, egg-shaped bodies which float on a beam of energy and possess wiry tentacles for physical manipulation, but their most distinctive physical characteristics are their five rotating faces. Each face represents a different aspect of the Quintesson, though for four of the five faces, there are conflicting accounts as to what each represents.

In the original animated series, the Judges were all of the same size and were rarely named. (Then again, it was rare for any Quintesson to get an individual name.) Conversely, in the Marvel Comics continuity, Judges vary in size, including the massive Kledji and the smaller Sevax. The order of the faces in the ring varies from Judge to Judge (if not from shot to shot, ahem).

Named Judges include:
* Brinn
* Deliberata
* Derodomontatus
* Heirodyus
Executioners
This breed of Quintesson was first seen throwing the switch that dropped the unfortunate Arblus into the Sharkticon pit. They have also been called "Gatekeepers".

Named executioners include:
* Ghyrik
* In-Saba Nur
* Jolup
* Rexian
Prosecutor
This variety of Quintesson is the second-most common type, often seen in positions of authority. They have also been called "Inquisitors". In court, they are the ones who ask for the Judges' verdicts and occasionally let the defendants say something in their defense, for all it matters.

Named prosecutors include:
* Krahulik
* Vashik
Scientists are somewhat similar to the Prosecutors in construction, though they feature more bulbous heads and bearded, somewhat-more-human faces.

Named scientists include:
* Al-Badur
* Extempaxia
* Inquirata
* Mara-Al-Utha
Other types
The Judges are not the only Quintessons to have multiple faces, though the only known exception is the three-faced scientist who was the primary creator of the Trans-Organics. One of his faces was grievously damaged, a scar left by the Dweller, which he covered with a mask.

This scientist instigated a plan to get the Decepticons to unwittingly release the trans-organics from their prisons deep within Cybertron so they would wipe out all Transformer life. The plan ultimately backfired; the Dweller killed the other trans-organics, and was launched into space by the Autobots... where it smashed into the scientist's ship, which was en-route to Cybertron. Presumably, the scientist finally met his end as the Dweller drained the energy from the ship and everyone within it. The Dweller in the Depths

Security officers appear to have been an ancient model of Quintesson, and possibly the only kind with built-in offensive capabilities, some having one set of arm-tentacles replaced with over-sized blasters. These blasters availed them naught, however, against the Trans-Organic beasts. It is unknown if any of this model of Quintesson exist in "modern" times. The Dweller in the Depths

Non-bailiff, non-executioner Humanoid Quintessons are exceedingly rare. One accompanied Inquirata on his mission to use a Time Window to change Cybertron's history, stopping the slave revolt that drove the Quintessons off-planet. Forever Is a Long Time Coming

And then there's Mirdane. A rarity among Quintessons, in that he has a name, and that's it. He has only ever been mentioned by others, never seen, so what body type he has/had is unknown. Madman's Paradise Wreckers: Finale Part II

In ages long past, a cold and emotionless race of aliens called the Quintessons created two lines of sentient robots on a planet-sized factory known as Cybertron. One was a line of robots designed for domestic duties and labor (known as Autobots), and the other was a line designed for military use (known as Decepticons). The Quintessons were exceptionally cruel to their creations, eventually leading to wide-spread rebellion, a rebellion started by the Autobot A3. Forced to flee the planet, the Quintessons eventually settled on the small, twisted planet of Quintessa, but fostered an undying hatred of all Transformers for millions of years. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 4

In 2005, they were shown to capture prisoners for trial and feeding to their army of Sharkticons. The mock trials held by the Quintesson Court seemed to have no purpose at all (except maybe for the Quintessons' amusement), as defendants were still immediately fed to the ravenous Sharkticons even when the Judge determined them to be innocent. However, the Dinobots managed to rescue the pair of Autobots the Quintessons had captured. Worse, Grimlock inspired the Sharkticons to rebel... by stomping his foot on the ground and telling them to do so. The Transformers: The Movie

One year (or possibly five years, depending on whom you ask) after the defeat of Unicron, the Quintessons reappeared. They first sent a commando team of Sharkticons to abduct various Autobots (as well as Spike Witwicky, though that may have been unintentional). Upon capturing the 'bots, the Quintessons seemed more interested in interrogating their prisoners than feeding them to the Sharkticons. However, they eventually did find the captured Transformers to be guilty of the crime of... being Transformers. (Spike was guilty by association.) Five Faces of Darkness, Part 2

After Rodimus and the Aerialbots mounted a rescue for their captive friends, the Quintessons attempted to kill the would-be rescuers by destroying the entire planet of Quintessa. After this plan failed, the surviving Quintessons made an alliance with the newly revived Galvatron to attack Cybertron (in return for the fictional Decepticon Matrix of Leadership, which they made up because they needed to give him a reason not to kill them). Five Faces of Darkness, Part 3

The Quintessons betrayed Galvatron almost immediately after the battle had been won, toggling a switch which caused all Transformers the galaxy over literally to freeze where they stood. Luckily, Spike stopped the Quintessons before they had much of a chance to do anything. Despite their betrayal (and the fact that they almost killed him), Galvatron remained an ally (despite that he tried to kill them as well). Five Faces of Darkness, Part 5

Later plots by the Quintessons were no less nefarious. A rogue Quintesson scientist abducted three Transformers and a human for behavioral study, a scheme that nearly killed the entire group after they drifted into a black hole. The Killing Jar Later, the Quintessons revived the deceased Optimus Prime in an attempt to lure all the Autobots into a trap and destroy them with a supernova. However, the Quintessons did not count upon Hot Rod forcing Optimus Prime to overcome his programming, nor Optimus Prime's ability to sacrifice himself to save the Autobots. Dark Awakening (episode) Later still, the Quintessons attempted to rewrite history by preventing their loss of Cybertron (which nearly resulted in the very fabric of Time being destroyed). Forever Is a Long Time Coming

During the Hate Plague crisis, a single Quintesson was rescued from his infected Sharkticons by Sky Lynx, to restore life to the body of Optimus Prime. The Return of Optimus Prime, Part 1 The Quintesson mentioned that his race had gone into hiding in the farthest reaches of the galaxy. The lone Quintesson's help in restoring Optimus Prime and several other Autobots was vital in curing the galaxy of the Hate Plague, but his race was never heard from again. The Return of Optimus Prime, Part 2

Macrocosmic Seekers
He was laughed at, but the Seeker got the last laugh when he left Cybertron before the rebellion and evolved beyond his Quintesson origins. A Treasure's True Worth

The six found themselves on a strange, alien world in the year 2011. With their ship ensnared, they were herded by Sharkticons to the Space Tribunal, where the Quintessons put them on trial for time-traveling without their permission.

When Shaoshao asked if being cute was a crime, the Quintessons threatened to charge her with contempt of court. Atari suggested using their Kiss Play abilities to transform into cute costumes and ask the "octopusses" nicely to let them go. But turning into a swimsuit-clad elementary school girl and asking the judge's permission to go to the potty only resulted in Atari and her friends being found "not guilty" and dropped into the Sharkticon pit below.

Rescued by Optimus Prime and Goldbug, they fled back to Brave Maximus and re-entered the time portal. Sucked into the maelstrom along with them, the Quintessons demanded that the process stop, saying that they were the last of their kind. But it was too late, and the aliens were trapped inside the hole in space-time.Transformers: Kiss Players (radio drama)
In 2008, Quintesson scientists realized that their planet, Quintesson (not Quintessa), was threatened with destruction by a time rift that was caused by Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge's time-traveling. The Big Broadcast of 2006 (issue)
Desperate for their race to survive, they launched a surprise attack on Autobot City, capturing it for themselves. Most of the Autobots were deactivated, except for Rodimus Prime, who was outside the city at the time of the attack, and Rewind, Ramhorn and Steeljaw, who were hidden inside Blaster's cassette compartment.

Using Arcee as bait, the Quintessons captured the Creation Matrix from Rodimus, and he reverted to Hot Rod. Out of options, Hot Rod activated the core of Autobot City, a giant Autobot called Metroplex, who transformed and drove the Quintessons off but caused massive damage to the city in the process.

The Quintessons fled, but were ordered by Lord Kledji not to return to Quintesson, but to roam the stars instead to rebuild their forces and seek revenge on the Transformers, since their home planet was doomed beyond hope. Icebird believed they were on a sacred mission; in truth, it was a fool's errand. The Quintesson Supreme Imperial Magistrate Derodomontatus fed the Mutants to the Sharkticons before continuing his discussions with the free trader, Cryotek. Plans proceeded apace, as both the Mutants and the Dinobots were dealt with by this deadly alliance, and Cryotek assured Derodomontatus that the last Cybertronian team, the Wreckers, would soon be extinguished as well. Betrayal
The invasion of Cybertron soon began, and Snarl, Longhorn and Skydive spotted Quintessons herding mass hordes of Sharkticons towards the Cybertronian settlements.

Derodomontatus cheered on the advancing troops with his fellow Quintessons, before proceeding with Cryotek and Cyclonus to complete his part of their bargain. The fighting intensified on the surface as Devcon and the Dinobots arrived, shortly before the Wreckers returned to Cybertron as well. Primal Prime and Apelinq led a contingent after Cryotek and the Quintessons deeper into Cybertron's core. They arrived in time to see Cryotek had successfully mutated himself into a god-like being with the power of the Divine Light. The Wreckers: Finale Part 1

And now, back to the official material.
Derodomontatus, realizing the extent to which Cryotek had now surpassed the Quintessons, begged the free trader to remember their contract and honor it. In response, Cryotek sent his pet Chro to rip the Quintesson's faces off.

As their Imperial Magistrate faced a hostile takeover beneath the planet's surface, the Quintesson troops on open ground found their advancement equally stymied. Expecting the newly reformatted Cybertron to be filled with docile and disoriented cattle, the Quintessons were ill-prepared for the resistance they faced from all corners of the globe and all sectors of the populace. In Ankmor, Judge Brinn's patrol were stalked by the Maximal techno-organic, Night Viper. In a deserted city, a contingent led by Overseer Rexian were overcome by Decepticons criminals recently restored to their bodies. Overseer Vashik and In-Saba Nur assaulted the new Predacon capitol of Darkmount with predictable results, as Lord Galvatron squashed them beneath his heel (Waspinator helped). Oh yes, and then there were Dinobots. Admiral Krahulik was prepared to initiate orbital bombardment from the Paradigm hovering over Polyhex before Strika and Obsidian brought down the Quintesson warships as well. The Quintessons began to retreat in hordes, returning to their landing ships and launching out into space...right into the path of the planetary defense systems, recently brought back on-line.

All in all, the invasion of Cybertron was an unmitigated disaster. Judge Heirodyus watched the annihilation from New Quintessa with a mixture of horror and smugness, silently congratulating himself for escaping the fate of his brothers. He hadn't. The Mutant Beasts Icebird and Poison Bite had survived their dip in the Sharkticon pools, and returned imbued with the light of Primus himself. Heirodyus and the Quintessons were soon wiped from the surface of New Quintessa. Icebird assumed control of the planet, spreading the techno-organic plant life made from Cybertron's reformatting, and teaching the Sharkticons the ways of peace. Wreckers: Finale Part II
They share technology and cooperate with many other species, whether organic, technorganic or mechanical, using culture as a unifying notion instead of evolutionary origins. They long ago perfected zero-point energy engines, food and parts replication technologies and advanced biomedics, allowing any individual to change features, organs and overall designs, eliminating such things as scarcity, and thus material value, "mortality" and even the concept of "species". These technological advances are shared and freely available to all those who join their "ultra-species".

The Quintessons usually rely on cautious observation before making first contact with other unenlightened peoples, demanding years of study and careful cultural guidance before even considering allowing membership into the Collective. They rarely use direct means to steer a culture onto the enlightened path, but have been known to occasionally take more direct action to protect their interests, doing the "dirty work" themselves. Transformers: Shattered Glass (franchise)

Aligned continuity
The Quintessons were small, organic, squid-like creatures. Physically frail, easily injured, and extremely cowardly, the Quintessons themselves were rarely seen, and did most of their dirty work through various proxies, willing or unwilling. When the Quintessons did need to expose themselves to further their own ends, they frequently encased themselves in mechanical suits styled after their various slave races, often claiming to be representatives of other races.

At some point after the creation of the first Transformers, Quintus Prime left Cybertron to seed other worlds in the universe with life, in the hopes that these various civilizations would one day contact Cybertron to form friendly alliances. One of his first creations were the Quintessons. So that didn't work out too well. The Covenant of Primus

The Quintessons developed interstellar travel before the Transformers, and eventually discovered Cybertron. As the first alien beings ever to make contact with the planet, their ships awed the young Cybertronian race. The Quintessons claimed to be benevolent entities sent to "uplift" the Cybertronians to join the galactic communities. The Quintessons soon taught the Cybertronians to assume alternate modes and rapidly guided their developing society, establishing rule of law and eventually a global order overseen by the Elite Guard member Sentinel Zeta Prime. In reality, the Quintessons aimed to slowly rob the Cybertronians of their individuality and sell them into slavery. To further this goal, they began implanting various Cybertronians, such as the Seekers, with cockpits. Transformers: The Covenant of Primus Transformers: Exodus The Quintessons organized other Cybertronians into working collectives and used their labor to advance secret projects of their own. Eventually, a resistance movement formed, and the Quintessons were defeated in a rebellion led by Sentinel Prime, who led Cybertron into a subsequent Golden Age. Traces of their rule, such as the cockpits implanted in many Cybertronians, would remain even as Cybertron slowly rid itself of their influence.

Generations later, Orion Pax claimed Sentinel and the High Council had enslaved Cybertron with the caste system instead of having it forced on them by the Quintessons. Transformers: Exodus

Games
Transformers Legends
The Quintessons put Rodimus and Sergeant Kup on trial. Unfortunately Grimlock arrived and promptly turned the Sharkticons on their masters. Mockery of Justice Intending to disrupt the Galactic Games, the Quintessons allied with Slipstream and sent her in to cause trouble. The Galactic Games They also send Skuxxoids to the games to kidnap Ultra Magnus, Kup and Spike. Five Faces of Darkness: Part 1 When the trio were rescued post-sentencing by the other Autobots, the Quintessons destroyed their own home planet, Quintesson, in an attempt to eliminate them. The Quints then tried to enlist the help of the Decepticons to wipe out the Autobots, only for Galvatron to arrive and reclaim his troops. Five Faces of Darkness: Part 2 They soon struck an alliance with Galvatron and attacked Cybertron, with the end result that they activated an ancient device to deactivate all Transformers.
Notes
* When asked about the Quintesson design in an interview, Floro Dery stated they were based on a cylindrical toy he designed at some point.
* Since the movie never explains what the characters are being charged with, and offers no logical progression to a verdict, it's usually interpreted that Quintesson justice simply operates on reverse terminology for the sake of humor—that the Quintessons say "innocent", but dohohoho, they're aliens, and to them, that means "guilty", so the accused is sentenced to death. This was certainly the assumption Simon Furman was working off of when he first used the Quintessons in the UK-only framing sequence of "The Big Broadcast of 2006" and had a Quintesson find an interrogator to be "innocent" of things which he is unambiguously guilty of. The 2014 novel Retribution also followed this path, with the note that "innocent" must "mean something different" to the aliens, as the characters on trial are indeed entirely guilty of what they are being accused of. What is consistently overlooked, however, is the one instance in all Transformers canon of the Quintessons actually finding someone guilty, which happens to Kup and Ultra Magnus in "Five Faces of Darkness, Part 2". And they are guilty of the charges put before them: being Autobots, the race who stole Cybertron from the Quintessons. While it may have started out that way at some point in the script process of the movie, the cartoon universe made clear very early on that Quintesson justice isn't supposed to operate on reverse terminology for humor's sake; the aliens know the difference between the two terms, and the trials are just trivial, for their own amusement, before they kill you anyway.
* In a Q&A, Simon Furman said he considered making the Magnificence a Quintesson artifact but changed his mind.
* The Animated Quintessons are just off-screen mentions, but as their empire's name is near-identical to Imperial Japan's Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere, we can assume they're very nasty.
Hot Rod was being chased through the underground tunnels of Cybertron by horrific creatures who were screaming after him "CREEE-AAAYYY-TORRR". After jumping a gorge, he found himself in a secret room containing the Sword of Primus and the Covenant of Primus. Natural Selection, Part Three As the Demons drew closer, Hot Rod began to suspect that he was supposed to choose between the Covenant or the Sword. He chose the Covenant in order to gain answers as to what was happening. After being taken on a tour through history by the Covenant, showing Primus' creating the Demons, then subsequently destroying most of them when they developed free will and began destroying each other. Hot Rod realized that Primus intended for him to finish off the Demons that had escaped Primus. He picked up the Sword, and turned to engage a Demon that had burst into the room... Natural Selection, Part Four But decided to spare the creatures, concluding that Primus' decision to wipe them out was wrong. He took both the Sword and the Covenant, and proceeded to exit the tunnels, with all of the Demons parting for him to pass and kneeling in fear before him as his wounds inflicted by them miraculously healed. Natural Selection, Part Five
The Sword of Primus would not be called upon again until Hot Rod had become Rodimus Prime and succeeded in bringing down the Hub Network of Jhiaxus. Returning to a dead Cybertron inhabited by shadow-leeches, Rodimus called for Jetfire to retrieve the Sword for him, as conventional weapons had little effect against the leeches. He would later take the Sword with him to Zero Space to confront the Dark Matrix creature that was responsible. In order to stop the creature from spreading across the multiverse, Rodimus used the Sword to close the cracks in Zero Space and seal off his universe from the rest of the multiverse. The War to End All Wars, Part 5

The Allspark is, in the simplest terms possible, the Transformer "afterlife". Also known variously as the Matrix and the Well of All Sparks, it is the nigh-indefinable extradimensional realm, or force, or even entity that is the living essence of the Transformers' creator Primus.

At the heart of an endless, cyclical process of birth, death and resurrection, the Allspark it is both the source and destination of all Transformer sparks. When a Transformer is brought online, it is commonly through use of a sacred implement which serves as a means of access to the Allspark. Through this implement, a Spark departs the Allspark, and enters the new Transformer's body, granting it life. The Transformer then lives out their life, and upon the moment of their death, their spark will return to the Allspark, taking with it all the emotions, experiences and knowledge that the Transformers has gained throughout their time online. This knowledge is suffused into the Allspark, gathering with all the other knowledge of all the other sparks from throughout time, forming a collection of information known as the "Wisdom of the Ages".

There is little individuality within the Allspark, however; the individual Transformers' experiences become one with all the others in the Allspark, and they effectively cease to exist as a singular entity. Some Transformers do retain their individuality, however—typically, those who have had close contact with sacred implements, such as the Autobots who have carried the Matrix of Leadership, remain self-aware within the Allspark, and can serve as guides for any visitors into its realm.

Where...all are one.

Conceptual history
The concept of The Allspark as it now exists has evolved and coalesced over the course of almost all Transformer fiction since the line began, and this article will cover its history to minimize confusion. For the specifics on the different interpretations of the Allspark in various continuities, see the "Fiction" section below.

The very beginnings of the concept of the Allspark arose with the Generation 1 cartoon, which introduced the Autobot Matrix of Leadership in The Transformers: The Movie. The Matrix was a powerful, ancient talisman, revealed in the episode "Five Faces of Darkness, Part 4" to be a vessel containing the life essences of its previous bearers, who stood sentinel over the accumulated "Wisdom of the Ages" within the Matrix, and guided Rodimus Prime through its depths when he sent his own life-force into the Matrix in search of answers about the Transformers' past. In a curious error, the ancient Autobot Alpha Trion was shown to exist within the Matrix in "The Return of Optimus Prime, Part 2", but also within the mega-computer Vector Sigma, with which he had previously merged, in "The Rebirth, Part 2". Vector Sigma had been shown to be responsible for giving Transformers life in previous episodes.

While the Generation 1 Marvel comic had debuted its version of the Matrix, the "Creation Matrix", before the cartoon under writer Bob Budiansky, it was not until after the cartoon introduced these concepts that writer Simon Furman expanded on the nature of the comic's Matrix. Furman revealed it to be a vessel containing the essence and power of the Transformers' creator and god Primus, in addition to explaining that all Transformer life-forces are fragments of Primus' own.

It was the Beast Wars cartoon that took understanding of Transformer life to the next level when it established the concept of sparks, the pulsating balls of energy that were all at once a Transformer's heart, mind and soul. Sparks, it was explained, came from "the Matrix", and would return to this realm when they died. Piggybacking on a trail left when Optimus Primal died in a transwarp explosion, Rhinox was even able to enter this "Matrix" and recover Primal's spark. Additionally, the Transformers could often be heard swearing "by the Matrix", indicating its reverential place in their belief system.

Beast Wars writers Bob Forward and Larry DiTillio did not have the precise concept of the Matrix as they had employed it fleshed out, envisioning it variously as a mysterious facility on Cybertron, from which Maximal protoforms emerged, or as the nebula that was home to the cartoon's enigmatic aliens, the Vok, thus making those creatures responsible for Transformer life in the Beast Era. The latter idea was never used (and has since been pushed well out of the realm of possibility by subsequent fiction) while the former would later be officialized over a decade later in the Transformers Collectors' Club story "The Razor's Edge". Regardless, it was Beast Wars own sequel series Beast Machines that was first to expand on what this "Matrix" truly was, forging it into the central concept of its own storyline. What Beast Wars had called the "Matrix", Beast Machines called the "Allspark", establishing it to be the realm from which all Transformer sparks "that ever lived, or ever will live" come from, cementing the vast majority of the details covered in the top section of this article.

A vague reference to the Allspark was later made in Robots in Disguise, when Vector Sigma was dubbed "the Allspark of Cybertron" in "Ultra Magnus: Forced Fusion!", the first linking of the Beast Era's handling of Transformer life to the Generation 1 cartoon. Later still, in Dreamwave Productions' More Than Meets The Eye guidebook, the concepts of the Beast Era were brought together with the Generation 1 Marvel comic's concept of Primus, to first form the idea of the Allspark as it has been known since. And the end of this tale, then, we are able to return to that original error from the Generation 1 cartoon regarding Alpha Trion, and retroactively gloss it away by understanding that he was not within either the Matrix or Vector Sigma, but within the Allspark, which was merely being accessed by these two items.

With the concept firmly in place, the Allspark was not particularly touched upon in fiction for the immediate future, with the entire Unicron Trilogy going by with only an occasional name-drop, such as characters swearing by "the Allspark of Cybertron", or, in the episode "Trap", Starscream referring to death as being sent to "meet the Allspark". In 2006, the bio of the e-Hobby exclusive "Laser" Ultra Magnus figure touched upon the Allspark again, taking a moment to explain why the Autobot leaders from the Generation 1 cartoon had appeared as individuals within the Allspark when Beast Machines had established this should not be the case: those who had held the Matrix of Leadership were exempt from this rule, and retained their individuality within the Allspark.

It was not until the advent of the 2007 live-action movie that the idea of the Allspark was thrust back into the fore, as its name was given to the legendary object that drove the film's plot, the huge cube that was the source of Transformer life in this continuity. Takara's World of the Transformers website then created the idea of the "god item", grouping Vector Sigma, the Matrix and the movie's AllSpark together as items capable of bestowing Transformer life, and by logical extension, connections to the Allspark realm.

Most recently, Transformers Animated has followed the live-action movie's lead, featuring a physical AllSpark object responsible for bestowing Transformer life, which was identified as another sacred implement by the guidebook Transformers Animated: The AllSpark Almanac II. To spare confusion, when the afterlife is discussed in the Animated cartoon, it is referred to not as the "Allspark", but as "the Well of All Sparks", after a location introduced in Dreamwave's comic which was itself another connection to the Allspark realm. By this count, then, the Allspark is known by three different names, each of which is in turn also the name of one of the objects used to access it. Is it any wonder this is confusing?

According to the most recent Transformers Line, Transformers: Prime, the Allspark, along with Vector Sigma, the Matrix of Leadership, and the Well of All Sparks, are portrayed as separate entities. The Allspark is referred to as an "afterlife", where a fallen Cybertronian spark departs to after its body has died, often referred to as "becoming one with the Allspark". Primus used the Well of All Sparks to create the original thirteen Primes. Not much information is presented in this continuity about the Well of All Sparks, except that it is wholly separate from the Allspark. It would stand to reason that if a Spark departs to the Allspark in death, the source of any and all Sparks, their birthplace, would be the Well of All Sparks, though this has not yet been confirmed in the series. The Matrix of Leadership is a device that is bestowed upon a Cybertronian, by the Counsel of the Primes (who are not Primes themselves), whom they deem worthy to carry the title of Prime. In fact, the Counsel's denial of Megatron's demand for the Matrix is what started the Great War, and the schism between Autobot and Decepticon. The Matrix itself, is stored within the Prime's body. In dire situations, the Prime may call upon the power of the Matrix, as Optimus did to contain Unicron. However, in doing this, the Matrix reverts the Prime to their pre-Prime state, as the Matrix acts as the vessel of the "Wisdom of the Primes". If the Matrix is the vessel of the Wisdom of the Primes, to be carried by the Prime, then Vector Sigma would be the backup drive of the Matrix. Should the Matrix be emptied of its power, it can be reloaded by Vector Sigma, through the use of the Key to Vector Sigma. However, the Key is only granted to the current Prime, or one chosen by a Prime. The key scans the current owner's bio-signature, and will only function if in the possession of that life form.
When Optimus Primal perished in a transwarp explosion and his spark crossed over into the Allspark, the nature of the explosion meant that it left a trans-ion trail behind, an ethereal pathway leading into the great beyond. Piggybacking on this trail, Rhinox was able to project his own consciousness into "the other side of the Matrix", where he located Primal's spark, bringing it back to reality and implanting it into a blank protoform, restoring his leader to life. Coming of the Fuzors (Part 2)
Just a question...
In the top bio, we say that his driving motivation is finding the Autobot Matrix - the "one prize that has eluded his grasp". Slightly below that, we say that when he killed his reality's Optimus Prime he left Prime's chassis "and the matrix within" to corrode on the shores of the Rust Sea.

Isn't this kind of a contradiction? Does this contradiction exist in the fiction too?--BraveMax 20:20, 29 October 2013 (EDT)
:Presumbably, Unicron dumped it back in it's home dimmension, and Defensor found it. You wouldn't want the one thing that could destroy you in your own body. Escargon 20:37, 29 October 2013 (EDT)
::It seems this came about from two differing sources. The "Shell Game" comic states the following: "The Prime was among the first to fall, the figurehead of the Autobot resistance now a symbol of hopeless dispair. But even in abject defeat, the Matrix-bearer spat one last defiant barb. The Matrix itself... the true heart of the Autobot ideal... was not there." And the rest of the comic has him searching for it.
::However, the TCC bio for Universe Nemesis Prime instead says this: "The last thing Prime remembered was Megazarak telling him the Matrix would be left to slowly corrode in his ruined chassis on the shores of the Rust Sea. Then his core processor was torn out, and there was only darkness."
::So, yeah, either these are separate Universal Streams (with there being more than one Megazarak--one whose Prime had the Matrix and one whose Prime did not), or something went wrong there. --Sabrblade 20:44, 29 October 2013 (EDT)
:::Maybe Megazarak didn't realize that the Matrix wasn't there? And then he went back to loook for it, and it wasn't there? I highly doubt there's two seperate universal streams. Escargon 20:47, 29 October 2013 (EDT)
::::I doubt that as well, and instead think that this was just a case of miscommunication between the two parties. Or a retcon. --Sabrblade 20:57, 29 October 2013 (EDT)
:::::I like Escargon's explanation. Megazarak killed Prime and then tore him open to find the matrix... Only to discover that it wasn't there. It fits all the available sources as you described them... Unless Nemesis Prime had to be found with the Matrix on him for that to work? Was his Dead Matrix explicitly a corrupted normal matrix, or could it have been created entirely by Unicron?--BraveMax 01:25, 30 October 2013 (EDT)
::::::Yes, the Dead Matrix was made from the Matrix of Leadership carried by the Prime that Megazarak killed. The one Nemesis Prime's bio said Megazarak left behind to rot inside the Prime's body, while "Shell Game" contrarily states that that Matrix was not inside that Prime's body when Megazarak killed him. --Sabrblade 10:43, 30 October 2013 (EDT)
:::::::Now, stop me if you think this is crazy, but what if this was the case: Megazarak is a dimension hopper, killing the first Prime, and not finding his Matrix (possibly finally killing Defensor) and the killed the second Prime leaving him and his Matrix to rot, which Unicron uses to create his Dead Matrix. So, after watching the movie (and reviewing other pages) it seems to me like the Dinobots, or at least Grimlock, were implied to be Knights of Cybertron. If not the Dinobots, there was a clear mentioning of knights, so I would assume they are one in the same.
Also, Optimus mentioned something when he removed the sword about "recognizing one of your own". Is that to say Optimus is a Knight too?
Notes
Continuity notes
*The Cybertron portion of the game occurs between War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron – the Ark is under construction, Trypticon still lies where he crashed, and we see Shockwave discover the Insecticons for the first time. However, there is one notable inconsistency – see 'Errors' below.
*Audio logs speak of the Patterners and Galvatron indicating that studies of the Dark Spark took place during The Age of Origins in The Covenant of Primus
*The Age of Extinction portion seems to take place some time after Optimus Prime released the Dinobots, placing it in the last 20 minutes of the film. However, by the end of the game Lockdown has not been defeated by Prime.

Errors
*Despite the game's script clearly positioning it before the events of Fall of Cybertron, Megatron is depicted in the new body he acquired only part-way through that game.
* Additionally, the previous game's dialogue implied that the events depicted were the first time Optimus and Megatron had met after the former officially became a Prime ("Optimus Prime, that is what they call you now, isn't it?"), yet this game depicts them meeting prior to that circumstance.

Trivia
* Rise of the Dark Spark marks a PlayStation 4 milestone by being the very first game to support the PlayStation Store pre-loading feature introduced in the console's 1.70 update.

Trivia
The 3DS version has over 50 Transformers characters and epic 3D battle sequences, while the console version has over 40 playable characters.

3DS Version
Is their going to be a separate page for the 3DS version of the game (like the games for War for Cybertron)? Just wondering, because it seems to have some alterations with the plot and some added characters not in the console version (like Crosshairs).

Swindle, Jetfire and Kickback
Shouldn't Aligned Swindle, Aligned Kickback and Aligned jet fire be on the list? Swindle appeared in a pic and he is in plain view. Jetfire and Kickback were from the commercial, both in their Alt modes and Robot modes, so shouldn't they be added?
:Yes they should --Shado Prime (talk) 16:18, 23 February 2014 (EST)
::NEW INFO: I rewatched the trailer, and found out that Kickback was actually Sharpshot (still aligned)! Also, Aligned Sideswipe made an appearance in the trailer, so if you could rename Kickback (Aligned) and add Sideswipe (Aligned), that would be helpful. == Continuity ==

Is this game suppose to connect the movieverse to the alighned universe and make them one continuity?
:My guess is that the people who made it have no fucking idea that they're seperate continuities, and used designs from both. They're still seperate, because there would be so inconsistencies that they could never be the same.
