Fresh from their escape from the not-destroyed ''[[Ark]]'', the [[Decepticon]]s open fire upon Sunstorm. Their attacks have no effect, as Sunstorm barely notices the blaster fire while preaching his dogma. Uninterested in Sunstorm's proclamations of salvation, the Combaticons reassemble into Bruticus. Sunstorm even laughs at the monstrous combiner, then out of nowhere the [[Orion]] appears and shoots Bruticus in the head{{m-}}. Sunstorm who is now pissed for them interfering attacks the [[Orion|''Autobot Supply Vessel Orion'']] causing it to short out and fall, as it descends. Seeing even the ''Orion'' crippled by Sunstorm, Starscream characteristically decides to retreat and Sunstorm chases him, leaving the ''Orion'' to make an extremely rough landing into the terrain bellow.

On [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], Prowl and Ironhide monitor some unsuccessful training exercises in which a team of new Autobot recruits were bested in combat by a trio of training droids. The two check up on [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], who Hoist has in a [[CR chamber]] to undergo repairs after having the [[Matrix of Leadership]] torn out of him by [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]]. Ultra Magnus walks in, fully functional and back in his armor. Prowl then receives a communication from the Protectobots who have discovered the ruins of Shockwave's lab from [[Night of the Combaticons|last issue.]]

Sunstorm chases Starscream beneath surface of the ocean to the ''[[Nemesis]]'', where Starscream readies one of his contingency plans. For safety, he has the ship's computer do a security scan for any intruders, and the scan returns negative. But despite this scan, Starscream is ambushed by Sunstorm, who reveals that the two are actually siblings.

Brawn beats into a fallen Bruticus, while Ratchet expresses some regret over having had to destroy The ''Ark''. Bumblebee tries to get Ratchet to look on the upside{{m-}}the ''Orion'' is here and the Powerdashers will be able to repair it, so that it will function as the [[Earth]]-Autobots' new base. Cliffjumper and Brawn remind everybody how suspicious it is that the human element to the conflict has remained uncharacteristically quiet{{m-}}but they're unaware that their very conversation happens to be monitored by a black helicopter from a human military.

He chased the human into the Autobot base and seemingly prevented Chip from saving the Autobots from a collision course into the sun by destroying [[Teletraan I]], but actually unwittingly saved his enemies by shutting off the autopilot that was navigating their doomed ship. Thrust attempted to crush Chip before securing him in his jet cockpit and returning the human to the power plant, where he had his afterburner handed to him by the [[Autobot]]s. {{Storylink|Megatron's Master Plan, Part 2}}

Unlike virtually every other Decepticon in existence, Thrust seemed to possess no dreams of personal power. After uncovering a secret supply of the element [[electrum]], which made him invincible, Thrust ran right to Megatron and informed him of the pool instead of using it for his own gain. Thrust's cowardice was legendary among the Decepticons, and they frequently had to put him in his place whenever his bluster became too unbearable. He was particularly insipid on one occasion when he, [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] and [[Astrotrain]] came to Saturn's moon of [[Titan]] hunting the Autobot [[Cosmos]]. When Astrotrain took advantage of the superstitious locals to force them into serving him as "greatest of the [[Sky God]]s", Thrust quickly fell into the role of lackey instead of challenging Astrotrain like Starscream did. Later, when the Autobots [[Jazz (G1)|Jazz]] and [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]] arrived and engaged the two [[Seeker]]s, Thrust was quick to flee rather than face even odds in battle. Finally, when the Autobots' transport [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]] was repaired, Thrust voiced the Decepticons' slim chances at survival and they beat a hasty retreat. Of course, Thrust also isn't much of a people person either. Megatron once gave him the simple task of explaining to the [[Insecticon (G1)|Insecticon]]s that the Autobots had acquired some [[robotic insecticide]] to use against them, and that they were to stay clear of the battle until Megatron and his Decepticons could destroy the weapon. Megatron actually planned to horde the insecticide as a failsafe for himself, naturally, but he didn't tell Thrust that. The [[Conehead]]'s delivery of the message lacked the slightest trace of sincerity, and the Insecticons flew off that very instant to intercept the Decepticons. During the [[Battle of Autobot City|Decepticons' attack]] on [[Autobot City]] in 2005, he had the distinction of being the first Decepticon to be run over by [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]]. During Megatron's initial uprising in Kaon, Thrust takes part in the violence. He is seen being strangled by Ironhide while Trailbreaker wrestles with Starscream.
