:Based upon the "Protoform" (Cybertronian) appearances of the Transformers in the movie, Protoform Starscream transforms into his "entry" mode Cybertronic rocket thing. This mode somewhat resembles a Cybertronic spaceship, with a visible bridge between the two dorsal fins. A flame decoration piece fits onto the back of the "vehicle" over the missile projectile, creating the illusion of a flaming comet's tail . The bottom of the vehicle has small wheels to roll the toy across smooth surfaces.

:In robot mode, Starscream marginally resembles previous Starscreams, mostly G1 Starscream, with the large turbines on his chest, wings and vents on his legs. Due to his extensive use of ball joints, he has excellent articulation. Starscream is armed with a spring-loaded missile launcher that fires the previously mentioned projectile cast in the same bronze color as his body. Alternatively, the flame decoration can be fitted onto the end of the barrel.

Pushing his head back during transformation will move his shoulder pieces back into place, while moving the shoulders forward will make the head pop back up. However, in some cases, the flame does not have a snug fit on the missile and falls off easily. This makes firing the missile rather awkward and makes the gun look extremely goofy.

In robot mode, Starscream is primarily cast in a gunmetal-like gray, with the same tribal tattoos featured in the movie and associated media, with various parts cast in a darker gray, brown, reddish brown, red, and amber for the canopy. :Transformation into Raptor mode is relatively involved but not overly complex; it nevertheless deviates from his Voyager figures, with a completely different transformation scheme from either base figure. The result is a MUCH cleaner jet mode, with no superfluous robot-mode parts dangling off the ends of the jet. Starscream's Raptor mode is cast primarily in the same gunmetal gray color predominant on the robot mode; many of the other colors are limited to the underside of the vehicle mode, where a good deal of robot mode kibble is present but unobtrusive. Landing gears stored inside the nosecone and along the legs - which form a major part of the underside - can swing out to allow for smooth rolling. The two launchable missiles can be stored on holes beneath each wing, while the missile launcher can be inserted into pegs at the bottom-center of the jet. This can be swung forward to expose the launching mechanism, allowing a missile to be fired at a slightly downward angle relative to the jet.

:Starscream's primary gimmick in this size is the addition of electronic lights and sounds. Pulling down on this canopy in robot mode slightly opens two chest panels, lifts the top of his head slightly (in imitation of an open mouth) and produces one of two phrases. American versions say "Decepticons will crush the Autobots!" and "No one can defeat Starscream!" while the European multilingual versions say "Starscream!" and "Decepticons!". Additionally, a small light activates in the middle of the robot mode body, lighting up his clear, red eyes, along with various other portions of clear amber plastic that are revealed by the moving panels. During transformation - specifically, the step where the nosecone must be flipped up for Raptor mode or down for robot mode, a button with a purple Decepticon sigil is activated, playing a four-note version of the [[Transformation#The_noise|Noise]]. In Raptor mode, Starscream's lights and sounds are activated by another Decepticon-sigil covered button on the forward left side of the jet. :The Bumblebee voice changer helmet, much like the [[Optimus Prime (Movie)/toys#Optimus_Prime_Voice_Changer|Optimus Prime helmet from 2007]], is a detailed helmet designed to... uhh... change your voice. Oh! And to make your head look like a highly detailed, and movie accurate replicate of Bumblebee. The helmet is nearly fully enclosed around the head, unlike the Prime helmet, and is adjustable so it can be sized to fit adults and children. The helmet is really, really yellow.

:The helmet features three different buttons, the ''voice mixer'', ''battle phrases'' and ''conversion sounds'' buttons.

:The ''voice mixer'' button makes the helmet modulate your voice and play wicked beats at the same time so you can get down with your bad self. The ''battle phrases'' are meant to sound like random radio mixing, but really sound like a couple of guys in a studio yelling at a microphone with silly voices. Enjoy fun phrases like, "You are no match for my new kung fu!" in a delightfully bad Chop Socky voice! However, there are at least a few radio voice clips from the actual movie. The ''conversion sounds'' button plays the transforming sound, or if you hold the button down plays the transforming sound as if it were being remixed live by a DJ on a turntable. Okay, y'know... like with a baby scratch or a backwards loop or something.

:The helmet has three play modes. There's ''demo'', ''on'' and the parents' favourite, ''off''. The helmet comes packaged in the ''demo'' mode with a ''switch retainer'' to keep it there. You'll need to take that sucker off to put him in the all important ''on'' mode. But don't throw it out! It's a really pretty red.

:In order to avoid language barriers, the European version doesn't play battle phrases. However, later releases did feature voiceclips.
