The Autobots split up to search the lower levels of Gigantion for its Cyber Planet Key, while the Decepticons do the same. Lori and Thunderblast get acquainted.

Synopsis
[[Image:Cyb_ep42_feeling_run_down.jpg|left|thumb|220px|Waspinator would be proud.]]
Deep in the lower levels of Gigantion, the four Autobot teams are making fast progress in their search for the Cyber Planet Key. Snarl, Leobreaker and Jetfire have enjoyed an uneventful journey, and soon discover a large chasm that they decide to leap into to continue their mission. Elsewhere, Optimus Prime's team (the Recon Mini-Con Team, Vector Prime and Metroplex) are having only a slightly more eventful time of it, as they find their way barred by Ransack and Crumplezone...only to run straight over them. The two Decepticons bemoan their fate, then encourage themselves to try even harder in spite of all their past failures... then kinda deflate again as reality sets in. Poor dumb schmucks.

Elsewhere again, the team of Override, Wing Saber and Lori take an elevator to a lower level. When they hit the bottom, Override advises caution entering the new area, and Wing Saber glibly notes the perfect getting-ambushed opportunities there. Thunderblast takes this as her cue to enter, backed up by Scourge. Lori, however, immediately begins verbally browbeating Scourge for his cowardly tactics and continued association with the Decepticons, and Scourge flinches. A lot. Thunderblast eventually gets sick of it and insults the both of them, calling Lori a "mouse". Lori, her temper already frayed, challenges Thunderblast to a fight, and the Autobots take fighting positions.

Back with Jetfire's team, the trio finally land at the bottom of the pit, where they're attacked by Thundercracker. Jetfire tackles the Decepticon himself, ordering the other two to go ahead without him. They hesitate for a moment, but then move to depart, realizing that, after all, "it's only Thundercracker." Furious at this disrespect, Thundercracker throws Jetfire aside and draws a bead on the retreating Autobots, but Jetfire recovers quickly and opens fire on the Decepticon, allowing his comrades to get away. Grinning wickedly, Thundercracker announces that it's time to reveal his new "forbidden attack", much to Jetfire's befuddlement.

On all three fronts, battle is the order of the day, as Optimus Prime blasts the interfering Ransack and Crumplezone far off into the distance once again.

Thunderblast distracts Lori with a rather puerile ruse, and beats cheeks out of there. Lori's last nerve snapped, she glowers at Wing Saber until he submits to bringing her along to chase Thunderblast down. The pair fly off on Thunderblast tail, leaving (a rather relieved) Scourge to battle Override, though Wing Saber soon realizes that she's clearly leading them into a trap. Lori is adamant, though, and they soon find out where they're being led to: a harbor area with a lot of open water.

Elsewhere, Thundercracker is charging up his "Super Electric Lightning Thundercrackin' Punch" with much pomp and grandeur. Jetfire is incredulous when the Decepticon finishes crying the attack's name and he finds out it's only a punch, but to Thundercracker's credit, his fist connects and knocks Jetfire for six. Jetfire is actually impressed, complimenting Thundercracker on finally landing a legitimately good attack, and Thundercracker grins happily.

While Scourge and Override's battle continues, with plenty of trash talk, Thunderblast launches her own attack, shooting missiles at Wing Saber from underwater. Wing Saber has a rare moment of clarity and suggests a retreat, knowing he can't tackle Thunderblast like this, but Lori insists they have to outsmart her. Wing Saber drops Lori off on dry land, and she enters a control console for a ring of eight cranes in the middle of the harbor water. Wing Saber allows himself to get "shot down" and dives underwater in robot mode. Thunderblast follows and corners him... and then realizes that she herself has just been led into a trap. Lori drops the crane-claws all around Thunderblast, surrounding her, and then one final one right on top of her head. Thunderblast demands to be released, and Wing Saber obliges, courtesy of pretty much every missile he's packing. The explosion sends Thunderblast flying away uncontrollably, wailing in defiance.

Elsewhere, Jetfire and Thundercracker have beaten each other silly, and both collapse, exhausted. The back-up team of Coby, Landmine, Quickmix and Evac arrive, and Coby tends to Jetfire while Quickmix keeps the gibbering Thundercracker quiet by dumping a lot of quick-drying concrete on top of him.

Scourge and Override's fight blasts a hole in the floor of a level above them, and their fight moves into this new room. Scourge hurls his axe, which misses and slams into the wall... right above the doorway that Lori then comes running through. Wing Saber dives in and saves Lori before she's crushed by the falling debris, and Scourge uses the opportunity to run for an elevator. Lori, quickly over her near-death experience, berates Scourge again, who sheepishly says he's not running away so much as making a strategic withdrawal. The doors close, and Override and Lori both express their frustration by hitting the wall. But Lori finds that she has inadvertently kicked a hidden button in the wall, which causes the lights in the room to turn off, and a large device to rise out of the middle of the floor. As the device powers up, the trio realize they are looking at a planetarium-like hologram device, which begins to project images of Gigantion in ancient times. The video images show a huge dark sphere appearing above the planet, and hundreds of robots emerging from it and filling the skies of Gigantion... robots of the same design as Sideways....
Other Notes
Differences with Galaxy Force
*Galaxy Force includes a "previously on" segment summarizing the events of "City".
*Immediately after the "previously" segment, before the title card appears, Galaxy Force also includes a brief original scene of Override, Wing Saber and Lori making their way down a corridor, taking about being first to their objective. In removing the "previously" segment, Cybertron also removes this short scene (perhaps unintentionally?).
* In Cybertron, after Lori challenges Thunderblast to a battle, Wing Saber and Override make sounds as if they are preparing to battle. In Galaxy Force, they both claim that Lori is scary.
*In Cybertron, at the end of the episode, Lori berates Scourge for retreating. In Galaxy Force, she is angry because she suspects he may have thrown his axe and collapsed the wall with the deliberate intention of killing her.

Continuity errors
* So, did Scourge get his tail-axe back or what?

Real-world references
* As she and Wing Saber jet off after Thunderblast, Lori cries "Hi-yo Saber!", a reference to the command western hero the Lone Ranger gave his horse, Silver, to begin running.
* "She can lead an Autobot to water..." Wing Saber says of Thunderblast's plan, with Lori adding, "...but can she make us drink?", paraphrasing that old saying about horses.
* While she's chasing Wing Saber underwater, Thunderblast starts singing the theme from Jaws.

Trivia
* There's a noticeably greater amount of facial emoting from the CGI cast in this episode than normal. Where previously, the height of facial animation has literally been limited to the changing shape of the mouth, this episode features several characters getting "normal" teeth for certain expressions which are not present in most other sequences, more fluid lip-motions, and even eyes that change shape. It's a nice change of pace.
* On that note, the scene in which Lori is almost crushed by falling debris has one of the few instances of "precise" lip-synching in the series: a close-up of Override's face as she yells "LORI!!!" The shot of her afterwards saying her name again in a relieved tone is also synched, but no teethies. A close-up of Thunderblast just before she's crushed also has precise lip-synch, but it's synched to Japanese words, not English. Oh well.
* During his indecision on whether or not to follow Thunderblast, Wing Saber displays the comical, large anime sweat drop on the side of his head. This means that Lori is so scary that she makes robots sweat. Also, Lori can be seen with a fang sticking out of her mouth when she's mad. O.o
* On that note, Lori is so scary, that she makes Wing Saber listen to her orders!
* As Thunderblast runs across the rooftops while luring Wing Saber and Lori along, her breasts actually... jiggle. Seriously, Gonzo, we despair of you.
This quartet are not the first to get on board, however, as Bud, Jolt and Reverb discover when they hear an ominous rumbling in the ship's ventilation system. Before long, the creature bursts out of a vent and reveals itself to be a Scrapmetal, but when the trio try to run, they find it's not an ordinary Scrapmetal... it's one piloted by Bud's brother Coby, who has come to their rescue!

Outside, Optimus fires a Cyber-Key-enhanced blast at Sideways, but Soundwave arrives and yanks him out of the way. Starscream mutters that once again, he's the only one he can trust, and begins pressing keys. The Autobots soon feel the effect of Starscream's machinations outside, as the ship begins rumble as they are reunited with Bud and the Mini-Cons. Optimus notes it's too damaged to fly, but Scattorshot, who's been taking readings, notes that that's not the problem: Starscream is powering up the main guns using the engines' power. Quickmix arrives, snarling that he's not about to let some "ratchet-headed offworlder" destroy any city, and with the aid of his Mini-Con partner Stripmine, he begins pumping untold amounts of quick-drying cement that covers the entire ship and starts filling the crevice. His plans foiled, trapped and out of power, Starscream can do little more than profane.

Back on the Ogygia, thanks are exchanged, and both Bud and Lori ask Coby when he's going to build each of them a giant robot. Coby apologizes for only having parts enough for one, and then goes on to show everyone what else the machine can do, transforming it into the Cobybot! Optimus sees Scattorshot's hand in the robot, but Scattorshot claims he didn't do that much of the work, and notes that the 'bot hasn't got any onboard weapons systems for safety. Optimus approves, and places an Autobot insignia on the Cobybot's shoulder-armor, telling Coby that from now on, when he changes modes, he should psyche himself up by shouting "TRANSFORM!" There is laughter all around, but Prime has to regretfully bring the merriment to an end so that the Autobots can put a plan to recover the Cyber Planet Key in motion. Using the data drive Coby had previously found, Scattorshot discovers there are four main routes to the central layer, but with no way to tell which one is the quickest, the Autobots decide to split up into teams to cover them all. A backup team remains on the Ogygia just in case.

Back in the normal universe, Primus carefully rations his energy, firing periodic blasts to keep the black hole from expanding too much. Across the galaxy, on Velocitron, Jungle Planet and Earth, familiar faces look up at the space bridges in the sky, and at the images of the black hole menacingly hovering above them...

On Gigantion, there's activity all around the planet. In one location, Sideways thanks Soundwave for saving his bacon, and Soundwave reminds him that they have a purpose for being here... in another, the Decepticons buff up Galvatron's armor, before he orders them all to depart and search for the Cyber Planet Key... and in yet another, the team consisting of Optimus Prime, Vector Prime, Metroplex, Bud and the Mini-Cons have come across a giant pile of scrap blocking the way. Bud and Jolt crawl through a small hole, and set off charges to let the larger bots in. Jolt checks the map-box strapped to his back, and they carry on... unaware that they're being followed by Ransack and Crumplezone. The Autobots come across a big door, and Metroplex forces it open... revealing an entire city under a bright daylight sky. Optimus is befuddled, as they're supposed to be underground, but Metroplex and Jolt inform him it's all an illusion set up by the ceiling above. Jolt is about to check the map when he's snatched by Ransack and Crumplezone, who give themselves an overly-extended intro, then start leaping from rooftop to rooftop, playing hot potato with the Mini-Con, who can't fly with the map strapped to his back. Optimus and Vector give chase, but can't shoot out of fear of hitting Jolt, so Bud calls Coby in for help.

On the Ogygia, Coby preps his Cobybot, and Quickmix gives him... something. Coby assures the Autobots he can handle those two "sprocket-heads" by himself, and hovers off at speed to back Optimus's team up, arriving just as the two Decepticons start shooting down chunks of the false sky. Coby makes a suitably dramatic entrance, transforming his mech (with the appropriate "Cobybot, TRANSFORM!!!" and stock-footage sequence, earning a thumbs-up from the Primes and Metroplex) and hurling a steel ball at the two Decepticons, which breaks open and sprays some stuff at their feet. The two 'Cons laugh it off, until they realize they're stuck, thanks to Quickmix's super-fast-drying cement. Optimus Prime approaches the two menacingly, demanding Jolt back, and Crumplezone tosses the Mini-Con over his shoulder, hoping to send Prime after him... but Jolt is caught by Evac, leaving Prime free to deal with the troublemakers. Metroplex then tosses Optimus the Sparkdrinker, which stock-footages the two Decepticons far, far away.

After the brief battle, the team regroups, and Optimus thanks the backup team for coming along. He tells Coby he needs more 'bots like him on his team, which Bud takes his cue to again pester Coby to build him a robot suit.

Notes
Differences with Galaxy Force
*Galaxy Force includes a "previously on" segment that summarizes the final seconds of "Fury".
*In Cybertron, Coby makes a disappointed face upon his reunion with Bud because his brother doesn't think he's cool. In Galaxy Force, the look is because Bud is not happy to see him, but rather, happy at the prospect of eating some real food other than the emergency rations he's been surviving on.
*In Galaxy Force, Starscream is not powering up the Atlantiss guns, but instead setting the deck to explode.
*In Cybertron, Hot Shot suggests picking a random tunnel, and his idea is shot down by Override. In Galaxy Force, he is asking why they don't just use the crevice Galvatron tore in the previous episode, and Override points out that they just filled it with concrete. (This also implies that the crevice does NOT go all the way to the lowest level of the planet-if it did, the organic layer would be covered in cement.)
*The very next lines of dialogue are also different: in Cybertron, Vector Prime recommends splitting up into four teams, Hot Shot inquires what they would do if one team was attacked, and Optimus Prime suggests putting together a fifth back-up team as a precaution. Conversely, Galaxy Force has Vector Prime explain how Galvatron became incorporeal and travelled underground that way (as seen in the previous episode), suggesting the Autobots find a way to separate their sparks from their bodies to replicate the effect, Hot Shot gets freaked out at the notion, and Optimus Prime decides that they should just split up into four teams (with no mention of a backup team until the rosters are being called out a minute later).
*In Galaxy Force, Optimus Prime's team simply marvels at the underground city, while Jolt is given pause to think about the waste of resources it represents. In Cybertron, most of the conversation is given over to explaining the technology behind the presence of a sky over their heads.

Animation or technical errors
* When Bud and the Mini-Cons come to, Reverb's arm is in the shot, but he's missing the entire truck-bed/wheel portion of it.

* Jolt's propeller spins when he bows in thanks to Optimus. In order to do this, it clips through the tail-rudder sticking out of his butt. This is not by any means the only time this occurs in the series, but it is a rare instance of us actually getting to see it doing so.

* When Override transforms when the teams roll out, it honestly looks like she lands right on top of Lori.

* For being unable to move thanks to having his foot cemented to the floor, Ransack's supposedly-cemented foot sure does move a lot.

Continuity errors
* When discussing the Cobybot, Scattorshot is carrying the long blue rifle that comes with his toy. The error in question here is that it proceeds to vanish after this shot, but really, it's more notable that he's got it at all, because this is one of a very small number of times that the rifle ever appears in the show when he's in robot mode, the first being in "Assault".

Transformers references
* Coby was seen re-engineering the Scrapmetal that became his "Cobybot" in "Warp". Though not explicitly stated, it's obvious that it was the secret cargo he was seen loading in the same episode, and which was referred to again in "Giant".
* Just as Hot Shot did back in "Family", Bud refers to Optimus Prime as "Big Bot", originally used by Beast Wars Cheetor as a nickname for Optimus Primal.
* When the Cobybot first transforms to robot mode, it does so with the classic Generation 1 transformation noise (and no stock footage, either!)
* Crumplezone references his rebirth in "Darkness" while fixing up Galvatron.

Real-world references
* Sideways' squeak of "<small>mother!</small>" when Optimus fires his Key-enhanced blast recalls cartoon legend Daffy Duck, who would frequently squeak out "<small>mother!</small>" right before something horrible happened to him.

* Part of the Velocitron duo's extended intro involves the line "My name's Crumplezone, and this is my partner Ransack!". This is word-for-word (aside from names, of course!) the introduction comedian-magicians Penn & Teller use, with the big guy (Penn/Crumplezone) introducing the little guy (Teller/Ransack). The only difference is that Ransack joins in to say his name, while Teller is never seen to talk.

Trivia
* This is the first time we see any connection between Sideways and Soundwave, though right now there's still little explaining Sideways' ultimate motive...
* With this episode, Bud joins Coby and Lori in donning a new set of clothes. As before, Cybertron doesn't explain where the clothes come from, while Galaxy Force explained, back in "Family", that they had been packed by Lori's mother.
* This episode sees a canonical explanation of why Transformers shout "Transform!" According to Optimus Prime it's because it's more exciting.

Onboard the Atlantis, Sideways comes to, and is chewed out by Starscream. When the Autobots attack, Starscream declares he's still weakened, and sends Sideways out to handle the intruders. Sideways plays it up all loyal in front of Starscream ("Oui, mon capitan!"), but as soon as he's alone, he starts bitching. He heads outside and battles Optimus Prime and Wing Saber, unaware that the combined Autobots are serving as a distraction while Override and the Cybertron Defense Team infiltrate the Atlantis by ground.

On the Velocitron colony-world ship Ogygia, Scattorshot runs a tracking program to find the Atlantis, where Bud, Jolt and Reverb are still trapped, but the trail goes cold. Lori reasons that since Starscream is taking the Atlantis to Gigantion, then they simply need to reach the planet first to find them. Scattorshot picks up a heat-image, and they move in to investigate. Passing through an asteroid field, they find Gigantion, a colossal planet totally covered in cities.

Landing on the surface, the Autobots split up and try to find the citizens. After a long and fruitless search, Safeguard discovers a giant rock inside a building that's blocking a doorway. Wing Saber rams into it like a big dumb doof. One barrage of Cyber-Key-enhanced attacks later, a hole big enough for the humans and Mini-Cons is formed in it. Coby, Lori, Six-Speed and Safeguard investigate, but find only an ancient control room in disrepair and completely stripped of valuable parts. Safeguard makes note of the Gigantions' custom of constantly moving to newly built cities, so the Autobots split up again.

Back on the Ogygia, Scattorshot picks up a faint noise from underground, too steady to be a natural occurrence. The Autobots move to the approximate source, at which point the ground begins to tremble. Initially suspecting an earthquake, the Autobots pull back...only to marvel at the sight of a giant city rising up out of the ground! The Autobots immediately head into the new city and discover a construction site, with the actual Gigantion natives hard at work. Coby and Lori rush headlong into the build-site, and predictably, a nearby crane's load slips, prompting Landmine to charge in and grab the colossal I-beam that threatens to crush the humans. Optimus steps in to help, but neither is strong enough to hold the beam for long...until the gargantuan Metroplex, planet leader of Gigantion, shows up and uses his saw to slice the I-beam in two. As introductions are made, Metroplex inquires if the newcomers come from "that Planet X". When Optimus inquires as to what exactly "Planet X" is, Metroplex replies that he doesn't really know himself, then quickly turns to berate the crane-bot for forgetting their motto, "Safety first." Coby sets to work fixing up the injuries Landmine has taken saving them, while Six-Speed and Metroplex's Mini-Con partner Drill Bit reunite, and Drill Bit passes around hugs.

Metroplex takes the Autobots back to his main bunker, where he introduces his right-hand-bot Quickmix, and they all discuss the matter of the Cyber Planet Key. Quickmix says he's heard the object in question is in the planet's central layer, but the two Gigantions insist that going to the lower abandoned levels of the planet is not allowed by their laws, and that the Autobots should respect that. Vector Prime attempts to create a warp to illustrate...something, and discovers that for some reason, he can't. Further discussion is interrupted when a dump truck alerts Metroplex to trouble elsewhere: Menasor is back!

The rebellious bot is attempting to drill through another rock barricade. Quickmix manages to stop him, but Megatron and the Decepticons are there, along with another new ally: Soundwave, who helped bring them to Gigantion and now mocks the Autobots with his sonic skills, flawlessly impersonating Optimus Prime's voice. Menasor rants about how Gigantion's old ways are dumb and attacks Evac and Override. The fight begins: Optimus and Wing Saber merge into Sonic Wing Mode to dogfight with Soundwave, Quickmix handles Scourge, Thundercracker chases Landmine (and gets knocked out of the air before he can pull off his latest super-duper attack move), Leobreaker and Snarl tackle Ransack and Crumplezone, and the Cybertron Defense Team gang up on Thunderblast. Jetfire guards the humans and tells Coby to not even think about moving from safety.

Meanwhile, Metroplex tussles with the combined Megatron and Nemesis Breaker. Megatron believes that the giant's size will make him slow, but Metroplex proves to be far more agile than expected, leaping quickly into the air and stomping Megatron hard into the ground. Scourge, Thundercracker, Ransack and Crumplezone regroup and gang up on Metroplex to help their leader, but the giant effortlessly blows them away. Megatron, still underfoot, uses some dark energy to make Metroplex stagger, and rushes at him with a Cyber-Key-enhanced Dark Claw attack. Metroplex counters by powering up his "Sparkdrinker" axe with his own Key, and brings it down on Megatron's skull. The huge explosion and force of the impact sends Megatron crashing down through several levels of the planet, while Nemesis Breaker is hurled away and destroyed, evaporating back into the black mist he came from. The Decepticons, Menasor included, quickly jump down the hole, grabbing Megatron and rushing for safety.

After the battle, Metroplex and Quickmix come to a decision, realizing that they need to break their own traditions and enter the lower levels to stop the Decepticons from bringing destruction to all of creation. Adding the Autobot insignia to their armor, the two giants shake hands (and mixing drum) with the Autobots, and the forces of good get a lot bigger with just the addition of two more robots.
Notes
Differences with Galaxy Force
*As the Autobots look down on Gigantion, Galaxy Force has them marvel at the prospect of Transformer descendants living on it. As we already know they do, thanks to Jolt saying so in "Balance", Cybertron changes the dialogue to the Autobots getting ready to go into action and vowing to get the Cyber Planet Key.
*When the city rises out of the ground, Cybertron has Coby conclude that the Gigantion natives live underground, before Scattorshot pipes up about it taking the sight of the city to convince them he was right about it not being an earthquake. In Galaxy Force, Coby does not reach this conclusion, and it is Override, not Scattorshot, who speaks next, informing the kids that they construct things the same way (raising them up out of the ground, presumably—she doesn't expand on her statement) on Velocitron.
*During Metroplex's explanation of the partnership between Mini-Cons and the larger Gigantions, Galaxy Force has him mention that the Mini-Cons can actually "act through" the larger robots by linking up with them.
*While Cybertron just has Lori plead with Metroplex and Quickmix to allow them to go to the lowest level, Galaxy Force has her ask why they abandon their cities. Neither Gigantion actually knows, but Metroplex speculates it's a way of escaping their past.

Animation or technical errors
* When the Autobots all power up with their Cyber Keys, Scattorshot is shown using an Earth Key, as opposed to the Cybertron Key he started using after his upgrade.
* When Metroplex introduces himself, he mispronounces Gigantion ("Jy-gan-shun") as "Guy-gan-shun".
* As the Decepticons gawp at the defeated Megatron, the black "mask" around Ransack's eyes is missing.
* When Quickmix notifies Metroplex about Menasor, there are two Quickmixes in the picture!

Continuity or plotting errors
* Why didn't Safeguard tell anyone about the Gigantions' build-then-move thing before they spent all day wandering around a clearly abandoned city?

Transformers references
*When thinking of a way to help the Autobots in battle, Coby decides to run back to the Ogygia and get the mysterious crate he was seen loading on board in "Warp".

Trivia
*With this episode, the blacked-out figures of the Gigantions visible in the new Galaxy Force closing sequence, which debuted in "Critical", are blacked-out no longer, taking the sequence into the finalized form it will retain until the end of the series.
*Back when we first caught a glimpse of the planet in "Balance", Gigantion was much smaller than it appears in this episode. Future episodes will explain this mysterious change in size!

*The show reinterprets Metroplex's vehicle mode as having a saw on top, when in actuality, it's supposed to be a bucket-wheel excavator, which shovels rocks and debris away, spinning the opposite direction a saw would. Of course, there are motors that can spin either way, and in any case the shovel end of the axe is in front. On the other hand, the Gigantions' transformation stock footage sequences illustrate some notable toy accuracy, as they depict each of the characters' "work" modes as in-between stages in their full transformations. Metroplex and Quickmix take a moment to pose in these modes in the middle of their transformations (pictured), but Menasor's is never shown fully and clearly.
*This is the last we ever see of Nemesis Breaker. Not that he did much anyway, but Megatron never bothers to bring him back after this.
*Menasor's Cyber Key is hilariously useless. In Galaxy Force, his call-out is for "Giant Drill", but the only obvious thing that summoning the key does is spin the drill, which he can do anyway, as he proves in this very episode! So, what's the point?
** Spiral Power? Who the hell do you think he is?!
Crumplezone
:Crumplezone is a Decepticon from the planet Velocitron from the Cybertron portion of the Unicron Trilogy.

[[Image:Crumplezone.jpg|right|250px|thumb|Trap Jaw called; he wants his head back.]]
The largest inhabitant of Velocitron (yet speed-wise he can still smoke most off-worlders), Crumplezone is undeniably the brawn of the gruesome twosome formed with the weaselly Ransack. It's not that Ransack is really all that much smarter than Crumplezone, it's just that the big lug just tends to leave the thinking to others, going along with whatever scheme his best (and possibly only) friend Ransack has cooked up. Being bad is just easier, and a lot more fun. Plus, Megatron is less likely to blast him then.

He really, really hates Scrapmetal. Who can blame him?

Fiction
Ransack and Crumplezone were the first Velocitronians approached by Megatron, and were quickly cowed into servitude. Under Megatron's command, they sought out clues to the planet's Cyber Planet Key, first terrorizing Brakedown and Clocker, then convincing Dirt Boss to help them win the Planet Cup race. All throughout, they snuck around, trying to manipulate and cheat their way though, eventually abandoning Dirt Boss during the desert portion of the race. They made it to the final leg of the race: a vast, twisting track deep inside the planet, but blew all their power very early in the race and were left eating dust by Hot Shot and Override. They decided to attempt to just flat-out steal the Planet Cup, and naturally failed.

After their failure to capture the Speed Planet's Cyber Planet Key, Ransack and Crumplezone joined Megatron's forces off-planet attempting to collect the other Cyber Planet Keys. When Starscream gave Megatron a false map that was in fact a trap, Crumplezone was the only one not trapped in it, and he quickly panicked. However, he went to find their newest ally Scourge, and soon(ish) Megatron was free... and pissed.

Crumplezone joined his boss on the return to Earth, fighting against both the Autobots and the Decepticons under Starscream's command. The battlefield quickly shifted to Cybertron, where Crumpleone ran afoul of a swarm of Scrapmetal, succumbing to their numbers and exploding. Balance

Near death, he was revived by the ghostly form of Megatron shortly after (in a more powerful body to boot!), and the grateful duo continued to follow Megatron, all the way to Gigantion the Giant Planet. There... they suffered humiliating defeat after humiliating defeat, pretty much. For a brief moment they had a shot at actually achieving something for Megatron by kidnapping the Mini-Con Jolt, but were outsmarted by Coby and his new Cobybot, then subsequently blasted through a few layers of Gigantion by Optimus Prime using Metroplex's colossal axe "Sparkdrinker", which was really overkill.

When Megatron-then-Galvatron finally obtained the Omega Lock and all four Cyber Planet Keys, they followed him back to Cybertron and the edge of the Unicron Singularity. There, when threatened by hundreds of Transformers from across the colony worlds, Galvatron used the powers of the Omega Lock to make his lackeys gigantic and incredibly powerful. Crumplezone ended up facing off mostly against his fellow Velocitronians, including Dirt Boss. Despite his super-size, he ended up running away as he was attacked on all sides.

After Galvatron's plans to accelerate the growth of the Unicron Singularity failed, Crumplezone and the other Decepticons left Galvatron, realizing that he had had no intention of sparing their lives from the cataclysm should he have succeeded. They re-appeared on the displaced Jungle Planet, as the citizens and Autobots were trying to prevent one of the massive planetary engines that was returning the world to its rightful place from falling over. Surprising everyone, they helped right the engine, having decided to try being good guys and being on the winning side for a change.

Ransack, Crumplezone and Thunderblast journeyed together across each of the worlds, trying to find a place to fit in. Ultimately failing, on Earth they cobbled together a makeshift rocket and headed for the stars, shanghaiing Thundercracker before they left, eager to become the New Decepticon Army.

The rocket crashed on Mars, to comedic effect.
These thrusters each contain a spring-loaded missile launcher, and can be swung forward in both vehicle and robot mode by plugging a Cyber Planet Key into his key-jack. This also activates electronic sound effects.

: He came with a silver-bordered Velocitron-style Cyber Planet Key. The Hasbro version has the Key Code "vj40" tampographed on the back.

: This mold was also used to make the 2006 exclusive Optimus Primal.

: An extensively retooled version of Crumplezone's original toy (approximately 80% of its parts have been changed), Crumplezone still turns into a Velocitronian three-wheeler, but this time his design is much more angular, with a "stealth fighter" look to him. Other changes include a pair of extra black fins (which are removable), and new moulded guns for his vehicle mode (in robot mode they point downwards and can't be angled forwards).

:Despite the extensive remoulding he has no new gimmicks, instead retaining all of the original gimmicks. The only difference is that Dark Crumplezone has a different sound clip, much shorter than the original's. His silver-bordered Velocitron Key has the Key Code "v2r2" on the back.

:In package Dark Crumplezone's new fins were not attached to him. Instead, they were in a bag taped to the cardboard insert, in a different place than the packet containing his instructions and missiles. Due to this, and the fact that his instructions don't mention that you need to attach the fins, many fans accidentally threw them out when they tossed the toy's packaging. In fact, chances are that as you're reading this you're thinking to yourself, "Hold on, my Dark Crumplezone doesn't have removable fins." Sorry buddy, but he's meant to. Looks like you threw them out too. Sucks to be you.

: This toy was slated for a Japanese release, but it never happened. Not even an e-HOBBY USA Edition release.
:Crumplezone is the only Transformers series 1 Attacktix figure with a base speed over 10, making him a devastating opponent in Transformers-only games. His Special Power Sacrifice lets you replace any of your Trooper pieces with the formerly-defeated Crumplezone.

Oddly enough Crumplezone's Captain class means that he can also support Skywarp's Infiltrate power, commanding him in battle. What a terrifying thought.
The reign of Starscream has begun!

Synopsis
While the kids and Mini-Cons at the Autobot base help the Cybertron Defense Team navigate the treacherous temporal warps created by the black hole as they travel along the space bridge to Cybertron, the battle between the Autobots and Decepticons is still raging on Starscream's island base in the South Pacific. As Megatron and newcomer Autobot Wing Saber continue to dogfight, Mudflap and Evac try to help their respective comrades, and wind up battling each other; Jetfire and Thunderblast engage in a little sea-to-air warfare, both turning their missiles on Thundercracker when he gets in their way; and Crosswise and Landmine corner Ransack, only for the diminutive Decepticon to leap out of the way at the last second, causing them to collide. Feeling very pleased with himself, Ransack happens upon Lugnutz, who has decided to take a break from the battle, dubbing it "too heavy". Ransack takes a leaf out of his book and sits down next to him.

Inside the island's volcano, Optimus Prime and Vector Prime continue their descent, with Scourge and Leobreaker close behind. Sideways attempts to trigger another of his traps, firing blasts of electricity at the approaching Autobots, but Vector Prime is ready for him this time, and uses a dimension gate to redirect the current, striking Scourge with it instead. The group reaches the bottom of the caldera where Sideways is waiting for them, and a battle quickly breaks out, but the Autobots are unable to score a hit on Sideways thanks to his frantic warping around. To overcome this, Vector Prime surreptitiously plants Safeguard on Sideways's back, and tracks his signal, allowing him to predict where Sideways will next appear. Optimus and Leobreaker fuse into Savage Claw Mode and strike Sideways down as soon as he rematerializes, at which point Scourge savagely enters the fray! He challenges Optimus Prime, but proves no match for the power of the Savage Claw.

Simultaneously, the Cybertron Defense Team's journey gets doubly perilous as they hit a particularly rough stretch of space bridge, and come under bombardment from asteroids. With the enhanced firepower of their new modes, the team can easily blow the space-rocks to dust, but Hot Shot gets a nasty surprise when one destroyed asteroid spews out a glob of goo that splatters over his windscreen and blinds him. To navigate the bridge safely, Hot Shot gives manual control of his systems over to Coby, who controls him remotely from Earth using a synchro-control. With Red Alert and Scattorshot keeping the asteroids clear, Coby steers Hot Shot safely until the goo clears up and the Autobot can resume control.

Back on the island, Evac, Wing Saber and Crosswise continue to battle Megatron, while Landmine confronts Mudflap, trying to talk his old friend out of his current course of action. When Megatron tries to break off the fight and make it to the volcano, Mudflap disappoints Landmine by coming to the Decepticon leader's aid, knocking the pursuing Evac out of the sky.

Within the volcano, Sideways returns to the side of Starscream, who continues to absorb the power of Primus's spark through the Omega Lock, and warns him of Megatron's approach. Starscream is undeterred, and Sideways decides to cut his losses and escape, but just as he departs, the Omega Lock erupts with power. All the Transformers within the volcano are forced to quickly exit as the mountain begins to erupt... but no-one expects to see, rising out of the flame, lava and ash... a gargantuan Starscream, transformed into a skyscraper-sized giant by the power of Primus! From the flames, Starscream produces a huge crown, which he places upon his head, declaring that his reign as ruler of the universe has now begun. Megatron, however, is unimpressed, and the two stare each other down, surging with so much energon power that their battle threatens to tear the Earth in half. Realizing this, Scourge leads the Decepticons in an attack on Starscream that proves ineffectual, convincing Megatron that he must take matters into his own hands. The land-based Autobots all join forces to stop Megatron from advancing, while the flying Autobots push Starscream back, in an effort to keep the two Decepticons' terrifying energon auras from colliding.

Watching everything from the Autobot base, the kids suddenly realize that Vector Prime is nowhere to be seen, having warped inside the volcano to recover the Omega Lock. They contact the elderly Autobot and discover that he has been pinned by falling rubble, unable to warp his way out, and so they communicate with the other Autobots to get someone to rescue him. Wing Saber steps up to the task and frees Vector Prime, but no sooner has Vector Prime stood upright than the pair come under attack by Thunderblast. Wing Saber's Cyber Key power is enough to do away with the flighty female, and the two Autobots escape the volcano with the Omega Lock in hand.

Back with the Cybertron Defense Team, the situation is getting worse as the space bridge deteriorates around them. Just then, finally, Cybertron itself comes into view... but the team are horrified to see the planet is infested by metal-eating Scrapmetal! The Autobot trio bounds into action, opening fire on the huge swarm of insectoid Transformers, but the odds are several million to three, and not looking good! The kids let Optimus Prime know of the Cybertron Defense Team's plight, but even as the Autobot leader hears the news, Starscream's massive fist comes soaring through the air, and smashes him into the ground...!
Notes
Differences with Galaxy Force
*In Galaxy Force, the journey to Cybertron is a treacherous one because the planet is inside the black hole. Cybertron changed this plot point at the very beginning of the series, establishing that the black hole is merely near Cybertron, so this episode inserts mention of temporal warps and such surrounding the planet as an explanation for why the journey is so dangerous.
*Just before Starscream emerges from the volcano, Galaxy Force has Wing Saber react with shock to the sight of Optimus Prime merged with Leobreaker, and then express an interest in the idea of a combination when Evac explains the story behind it. Cybertron changes this to Wing Saber and Evac deciding to get down to ground-level and back Optimus up, removing the reference for a very pertinent reason that will become apparent in the next episode: namely, in Cybertron, Wing Saber and Optimus have already combined in the past.

No matter how big you become, you're still the same pathetic wannabe! Oh yes...you're the king alright. The king of fools!"<br>
"Ever notice how much noise an insect makes, buzzing and clacking, until you crush it underfoot? That's what you are Megatron—a bug with a big mouth!"<br>
"Okay... THAT'S IT! YOU GUYS ARE TOAST!"<br>
"HEY! I DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING!"<br>
