The 2007 Transformers film was accompanied by one of the largest product blitzes in the history of the Transformers brand. The prominence of the movie allowed Hasbro to push the toy line to new levels of complexity and diversity.

In addition to the standard "main line" figures, several sub-lines were developed. Some, such as the Fast Action Battlers and Cyber Slammers, are aimed at younger users. Others, such as Real Gear Robots and the various role play toys, expand on the plot and concepts of the movie. Furthermore, many stores received various exclusive redecos and multi-packs. Other markets, such as Japan and even Europe, also had their own exclusives.

Virtually all characters of the movie cast received multiple toy incarnations at various price points, from the tiny $4 Legends versions and two-for-$5 Robot Heroes PVCs up to the massive, complex, electronic $80 Ultimate Bumblebee. Given the limited number of Transformers featured in the movie, the toyline naturally contains many additional characters. Many of these are featured in alternate movie-related media, such as prequel comics and video games.

Following the success of the movie toyline, it was expanded with the Power and Premium Series sub-lines, while the subsequent toyline, Transformers Animated, was officially pushed back from late 2007/early 2008 to July 2008.

Toyline
Action figures ("main" line)
Overview
The main line movie figures attempt to emulate the spindly, multi-faceted appearance of the screen characters, succeeding to a remarkable degree. This aesthetic carries over to characters that do not appear in the movie, giving the line a unified appearance. Most alternate forms are realistically styled contemporary Earth vehicles, many of which are licensed replicas.

The main line figures feature an above-average design complexity, with figures such as Deluxe Class Bumblebee. packing an amazing number of moving parts into a small package. Transformations are fairly complex, and tend to capture the movie's visual spectacle of a vehicle flying apart into a thousand pieces as the robots transform. The primary gimmick of the main line is "Automorph Technology", a gimmick by which moving one piece of a toy will in turn move other pieces into their designated positions via hidden gears, furthering the parallel with the movie's visuals.

Many of the vehicle modes' exteriors are formed by thin panels, but limbs and torsos are sufficiently integral to the vehicle-mode panels that they are not shellformers. On some of the toys, these panels swing back on themselves or are otherwise concealed to such an extent that the finished robot gives comparatively little indication that it turns into a vehicle at all -- yet another point of unity with the movie's design aesthetic.

Other noteworthy characteristics of the "main" movie line include a stronger focus on the Legends size class, which was once again available at all major retailers (instead of just at specialty and convenience stores), including toys for all but one of the movie's robot cast (although Legends were later changed from single packs to the "Allspark Battles" two-packs); the "Screen Battles" diorama sets containing minor, more movie-accurate redecos of Deluxe Class toys in nifty diorama sets including PVC figures of some of the movie's human cast (a rarity in Transformers toylines); the Real Gear Robots, a concept originally conceived for the Cybertron line, but then held back because it conveniently tied into a key scene in the movie; and the Premium Series, a mostly collector-aimed lineup of even more movie-accurate redecos of previously released toys of most of the movie's robot cast.

Unfortunately, due to issues of vehicle-mode licensing and the fact that the robot designs are the shared intellectual property of DreamWorks, it is a virtual certainty that the Movie toys will never be made available as redecos in other franchises (bar any movie sequel line) or as convention exclusives. So get 'em while the getting's good!
{{note|"Allspark Battles" are two-packs that contain two Legends Class figures each. On the North American market, they replaced the Legends Class single packs in late 2007, coinciding with the launch of the Power sub-line, whereas other markets continued getting some of the toys included in these two-packs as single packs instead. ====Real Gear Robots====

Premium Series
Notable international variants
Even though the Movie toyline differed from previous Transformers toylines insofar as TakaraTomy's Japanese versions of the toys were almost identical to their Hasbro counterparts (as a matter of fact, the Japanese "mainline" toys even came in Hasbro packaging, with additional Japanese stickers on the packaging identifying them as the Japanese versions), there were a few genuine variants - and on top of that, one of those variants was also released in the United Kingdom, making it the first shared Japanese/European "variant" toy since red Armada Powerlinx Thrust.

UK variants
* Nightwatch Optimus Prime (Leader Class; missing the US version's "Allspark Power" blue paint and coming in slightly different packaging)

Japanese variants
* Most of the initial decos of the Real Gear Robots (Speed Dial 800, Spy Shot 6, Power Up VT6, Longview and Zoom Out 25X) featured different stickers in Japan, depicting scenes involving the Movie cast rather than screenshots from the Cybertron cartoon, and replacing the time index "7:47" (hinting at the US release date of the movie, July 4th) with "8:04" (as the movie wasn't released in Japan until August 4th).
* MA-03 Bumblebee (Deluxe Class Classic Camaro; using clear blue plastic for the windows with painted over yellow car parts, instead of the US version's yellow plastic with tampographed blue windows)
* MA-18 Nightwatch Optimus Prime (Leader Class; identical to the UK version)
* MA-19 Landmine (different shade than the Hasbro version, and features tires made of rubber instead of plastic)
* MA-21 Battle Mode Optimus Prime (same mold as Hasbro's Leader Class Premium Series Optimus Prime, but features vacuum metallized rims, bumper/grill and gas tanks/toolboxes. His overall paint deco in robot mode is also slightly more detailed.)
* MD-22 Incinerator (Voyager Class; sporting black as the main colour and a slightly different deco than the US version; also comes with a small Allspark cube accessory)

International exclusives
Non-US market Legends Class single packs
Wave 4 (Allspark Power Wave 1)
*Cliffjumper (redeco of Legends Class Bumblebee)
*Recon Barricade (redeco of Legends Class Barricade)
*Autobot Jazz (minor redeco of Legends Class Autobot Jazz)
*Bonecrusher

Non-US market Hasbro multi-packs
These two-packs have only been released in Mexico.
{{note|This two-pack has been available as a mass retail release in Hong Kong, as an Argos exclusive in the United Kingdom, as a Kmart exclusive in Australia, and with undertermined distribution in France. * "Towed to Safety" two-pack (Deluxe Class Longarm & Deluxe Class Classic Camaro Bumblebee)
Non-US market Hasbro "special" single packs
* Arcee G1 color edition (a pink and white redeco of Deluxe Class Arcee, limited to 1000 pieces, exclusively available at Wonder Festival 2008 Winter)

Merchandise
* Exhaustive Transformers 2007 merchandise list, maintained by AMS.

Trivia
*The "Scout" size class was made exclusive to Target stores for the run of the Movie toyline (although it was available as a mass retail assortment in other countries), and consisted solely of redecos of toys from the Energon and Cybertron toylines. The Animated and Universe lines didn't revisit this price point at all, but the Scout price point returned with the Revenge of the Fallen toyline, this time with entirely new molds.
* Likewise, the "Ultra" size class was originally not used during the Movie toyline's run either. Eventually, the only two "Ultra Class" releases were redecos of Cybertron toys that were exclusively available at Toys"R"Us stores. The 2008 Universe line brought the price point back as a mass retail assortment.
*The Fracture, Crankcase, and Getaway exclusive toys were originally meant to be part of the 2008 Universe line, but Wal*Mart insisted that they be placed into the Movie line instead. (The logic being that the old Universe line eventually failed in the market, while the Movie line was a dramatic hit.)
*Sadly the legends Optimus Prime in the 2007 movie is not really movie accurate. He only has one smoke stack, and the transformation is to easy.

"Drought"
For the remainder of 2007 following the movie's premiere, many fans complained of a severe toy shortage in most markets, particularly the U.S. Mainline figures had proven to be more difficult to locate at retail than in many years, if not ever. This was due to the convergence of several factors:

*The tremendous success and high profile of the movie has vastly broadened the toy-buying audience, with many more kids, adult collectors, and scalpers seeking out product.
*Major retailers such as Wal-Mart and Target placed orders for TF movie product based on their sales records for Cybertron and Classics figures, as well as movie-related toylines in general, which tend not to do well (as the Spider-Man 3 figures still warming shelves wherever you live can attest).
*Unusual congestion at Chinese factories and shipping docks lengthened the time necessary to produce and ship new figures to the West.

Ironically for much of 2008, as supply began to overtake demand, the movie toys became shelf-warmers, appearing not to sell in huge numbers, and often to the detriment of shelf-space for the newer Animated and Universe toylines.

After getting an undeserved A- for his genealogy report, Sam and his father went to buy a car. Though they passed a Porsche car lot, Ron was actually playing a cruel joke on his son (real smart, considering that he'll eventually get power of attorney someday). Going to Bobby Bolivia's car lot, they went shopping for a used car. Sam spotted a Camaro that he liked, but Ron, ever the cheap man, refused to go over four thousand dollars. However, when all the windows in the car lot suddenly exploded, Bolivia agreed to four thousand.

Taking his buddy Miles to the lake, they encountered Mikaela and her boyfriend Trent. Trent pretty much told them to get lost, but Mikaela then dumped Trent. Realizing he had his one shot, Sam abandoned Miles and offered to give Mikaela a ride home. When his car had some engine trouble, Mikaela looked under the hood and was quite impressed with the layout of the Camaro's engine, though Sam was more impressed with the layout of Mikaela. After giving her a ride home, Mikaela asked Sam if he thought she was shallow. Sam awkwardly replied that he thought there was "more than meets the eye...with you". After berating himself for his lame pickup line, Mikaela waved goodbye from her porch, and Sam felt that he had made progress, and said he loved his car.

Later that night, his car suddenly left. Believing it was being stolen, Sam followed it to an abandoned junkyard. To his shock and horror, the car was alive. Sam left his last words to his parents and Mojo, where he acknowledged that he owned Busty Beauties that were given to him by Uncle Charles, then investigated. Some police came and arrested him, and an overzealous cop, believing him to be a junkie, called him "50 Cent". Returning home, Satan's Camaro arrived, and Sam fled ignominiously on his mother's pink bike. He hit the cement hard in front of Mikaela, and soon found a police car. He demanded the officer's help... at which point said police car turned into an even scarier car. After throwing Sam onto a nearby car, the cop car demanded the location of Sam's eBay items, but Sam fled and ran into Mikaela. The Camaro arrived and took them to a power plant, where the two cars fought it out, while Sam was chased by a spastic abomination who pantsed him. Mikaela was able to cut off its head, which Sam punted.

Sam and Mikaela approached the Camaro, who could only speak through his radio, and offered a ride. Mikaela was hesitant, but Sam convinced her to get in. While driving, Sam had shotgun, but Mikaela refused to sit in the driver's seat. Sam suggested that she sit in his lap. Safety first, right? She agreed, then admitted to Sam that it was a smooth move on his part. Mikaela then asked if the robot was so advanced, then why did he turn into a piece of crap Camaro? Insulted, the car forced them out. As Sam lamented how four thousand dollars had driven off, the car returned as a 2009 Camaro. Taking the teens to an observatory, they watched as four meteors entered Earth's atmosphere, during which Mikaela instinctively reached out for Sam's hand. They were then escorted to an abandoned alley, where they met the biggest surprises of them all. Four other cars transformed into robots. The lead robot, after inquiring about Sam's identity, introduced himself as Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots, autonomous robotic lifeforms from a planet known as Cybertron. Prime introduced Jazz, his first lieutenant, Ironhide, his weapons expert, Ratchet, their medical officer (who claimed that Sam's pheromone level indicated that he wanted to mate with Mikaela, embarrassing both teens), and identified the Camaro as Bumblebee, Sam's appointed guardian. Optimus explained their mission to locate the All Spark, the betrayal of Megatron and the Decepticons, and how Archibald Witwicky's glasses played a vital role in finding the All Spark.

Going to his house, Sam frantically searched for the glasses, but the Autobots were somewhat impatient and totally wrecked his dad's backyard. After finding the glasses, government agents arrived. Their leader, Agent Simmons, took Sam and Mikaela into custody, separating Sam from his parents. Simmons went bad cop on Sam, threatening him with life imprisonment and revealing Mikaela's criminal record. Just as Simmons demanded answers about aliens, Prime intercepted the convoy, and the Autobots totally outclassed the agents. Sam demanded to know what Sector Seven was, but a backup team arrived. Prime took Sam and Mikaela to hide under a bridge, but they nearly fell to their deaths. Bumblebee saved them, but was captured, and Sam and Mikaela recaptured.

Taken to Hoover Dam, Simmons tried the awkward role of good cop, but Sam was uninterested in talking. Tom Banachek tried to bribe him, and Sam demanded the freeing of Bumblebee, his parents, and the expunging of Mikaela's criminal record. Taking them into the Dam, Sector Seven showed them N.B.E.-1, who Sam recognized as Megatron. He explained Megatron's goals, and the purpose of the All Spark. However, the spastic abomination that pantsed him sent a message to the Decepticons, who attacked. Sam implored Sector Seven to release Bumblebee, saying he could help, which Captain Lennox assisted by putting a gun to Simmons's chest. Bumblebee converted the All Spark to a smaller form, and the soldiers escorted the two teens and Bumblebee to Mission City, soon augmented by the Autobots.

Upon reaching Mission City, an F-22 Raptor was spotted, which Ironhide recognized as Starscream. Starscream attacked, damaging Bumblebee's legs, and a tank attacked the soldiers. As the Autobots and the soldiers went to deal with the tank, Mikaela arrived with a tow truck to remove Bumblebee from the battle. Megatron soon arrived and killed Jazz, and Lennox ordered Sam to take the All Spark to a building to be escorted out of the city. Despite his refusal to leave, Bumblebee handed the Cube to Sam, urging him to go. Sam was pursued by Megatron, Starscream, and a helicopter, with Ratchet and Ironhide providing protection, but they were injured by Starscream, and Sam was forced to leave without them. During his flight, Sam dropped the All Spark, causing some nearby machines to come to life. Reaching the building, Sam ignited a flare, but his ride was destroyed by Starscream.

Cornered on the roof, Megatron demanded the All Spark, in exchange for living to be his pet, but Sam refused. Megatron used his flail to knock Sam off the roof, but Sam was saved by Optimus Prime. Telling Sam to hold onto the cube, Prime tried to scale down the building, but Megatron knocked them all off. Prime managed to shield Sam from any serious injury, however. Prime expressed admiration for Sam's efforts, and told him that if he couldn't defeat Megatron, Sam was to merge the Cube with his spark, destroying both Prime and the All Spark. However, Megatron was too powerful for Optimus to defeat alone, and Prime told Sam to push the cube into the Autobot's chest. Instead, Sam merged the All Spark with Megatron, killing him. Optimus extended his thanks, telling him he owed Sam a debt of gratitude. Bumblebee, who could now speak, requested permission to stay with Sam, to which Sam eagerly agreed. Sam and Mikaela entered into a relationship, and made out on Bumblebee's hood while Ironhide and Ratchet observed.
Shortly after the battle of Mission City, Sam and Mikaela were watching Ratchet reattach Bumblebee's legs when the transformed Mountain Dew machine suddenly attacked Sam. Fortunately, Ratchet crushed the creature before it could cause further havoc. Examining the liquid from its remains, Ratchet warned his human friends about the dangers in weight gain and tooth decay that the substance could cause to them. Amused, Sam and Mikaela promised to be careful. Alliance issue 1
A few months later, after the Autobots and the United States military had agreed to operation under a formal military alliance as NEST, Major Lennox became concerned over an ominous warning he had received from a Decepticon they had just destroyed. The Decepticons were looking for "it", and both Lennox and Optimus Prime feared they could be after Sam again. Though Lennox refused Prime's suggestion of placing Sam in protective custody at their base on Diego Garcia, believing it was too much for the boy to handle, they agreed that somebody needed to keep an eye on Sam, and so Bumblebee once again assumed the role of his protector. Alliance issue 4
Weeks later, he went off to meet Mikaela when he was accosted by Skids and Mudflap. Annoyed, he pointed out he'd done his part and just wanted to be left alone, but the twins pushed him into taking a ride in Skids. They explained they'd been framed for a crime they didn't commit, they had vital intelligence of a secret Decepticon army, and they wanted Sam to inform Optimus because he trusted him. Sam, being a smart kid, didn't think much of wild stories by two strangers who'd abducted him, and said he'd think about it. When Bumblebee turned up and the twins accelerated, he stopped thinking and starting banging on Skids window in a desire to GTFO.
Revenge of the Fallen (movie)
:Actor: Shia LaBeouf (English), Fuminori Komatsu (Japanese-language dub voice)

About two years later, Sam had graduated from high school and was preparing to go to college. He still found it difficult to say "I love you" to Mikaela.

Sam found a shard of the All Spark left inside his clothing from the battle in Mission City which (a) brought numerous kitchen devices to life and (b) imprinted a large collection of ancient Cybertronian knowledge onto his brain. After Bumblebee destroyed the kitchen robots (and parts of the Witwickys' house with them), Sam handed the All Spark shard to Mikaela. In a wrenching heart-to-heart with Bumblebee, he dismissed him from his role as guardian, saying it was time for Bumblebee to rejoin the other Autobots (and Sam wasn't allowed to have a car at college anyway.)

Arriving at college, Sam met his roommate, Leo Spitz, who operated a conspiracy website and was convinced that alien robots were hiding on Earth. At a frat party, Sam also met his fellow student Alice, who immediately and forcefully attempted to seduce Sam. When Bumblebee showed up, Alice invited herself along on a ride with Sam, but Bumblebee did everything he could to convince her to leave. After finally getting rid of her, Bumblebee took Sam to Optimus Prime, who was convinced—for some reason—that Sam was in danger. Even more strangely, Optimus asked Sam to act as a go-between for the Autobots to humanity at large. Sam, wanting to be normal, declined.

Because no good deed goes unpunished, of course, Sam shortly thereafter began to see strange symbols. He also developed a nasty eye tic and decided to assert in front of about three hundred of his colleagues that Einstein was wrong, that the first four dimensions were unfairly in the spotlight, and what about the other thirteen that nobody ever talks about? He began to write out the symbols in support of this theory on a blackboard in front of his class.

After recovering from this outburst, Sam believed it might have something to do with him touching the All Spark shard, and he contacted his girlfriend to warn her not to touch the shard. Mikaela promptly boarded a plane to see Sam, but when she arrived, she found him in what appeared to be an intimate moment with Alice. Fortunately for Sam's relationship, Alice turned out to be a killer alien robot. Mikaela, Sam and Leo, who stumbled across Alice's robotic self by coincidence, tried to escape, but were captured by the Decepticons. After Sam's failure at relating to a thirty-foot-tall robot, Megatron ordered a small, glasses-wearing robot called The Doctor to remove Sam's brain in order to access the information from the All Spark shard, but Optimus Prime and Bumblebee managed to locate them and free Sam, Mikaela and Leo.

Together, they attempted to flee, but in order for Sam to escape, Optimus Prime had to fight off Megatron, Starscream and Grindor all by himself. After killing Grindor, Optimus was impaled by Megatron and died. Just then, the other Autobots arrived, causing Megatron and Starscream to retreat; Sam was safe, for the moment at least.

In a hijacked TV broadcast, The Fallen revealed his existence to the world public and demanded Sam to be surrendered to him. Decepticons landed around the globe, killing several thousand people. In Paris, one of them tracked down Sam's parents, Ron and Judy Witwicky. A manhunt began for Sam.

Sam hid out with Mikaela, Leo, Bumblebee and the Autobot twins, Skids and Mudflap. Leo eventually suggested they ask his rival, "Robo-Warrior", owner of a competing website, for help. To everyone's surprise, Robo-Warrior turned out to be none other than Seymour Simmons, former agent of Sector Seven. Simmons revealed that symbols similar to those Sam was obsessed with had been found on numerous excavation sites around the world, but in order to read them, they might need a Decepticon. Mikaela just happened to be carrying around a Decepticon, who when interrogated, suggested they track down one of the Seekers, a species of Transformer that had been present on Earth for much of its history.

At the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, they discovered an old Decepticon named Jetfire, disguised as an SR-71 Blackbird. Jetfire claimed to have defected to the Autobots and told them about The Fallen, who betrayed his brothers, the Primes, many millennia ago. The Fallen intended to destroy the Earth's sun in order to create Energon, the Transformers' source of energy. The symbols in Sam's head were a map to the location of the solar harvester, the weapon the Fallen intended to use to destroy the sun. Jetfire also revealed that only a Prime could stop The Fallen, and a key was needed to activate the Harvester, the Matrix of Leadership. Sam asks Jetfire whether the Matrix would also revive Optimus Prime, to which Jetfire responded that it might be possible given the unusual radiation that the Matrix generates.

Jetfire opened a space bridge and teleported himself as well as Sam, Mikaela, Leo, Simmons, Bumblebee and the Twins to Egypt. Between the Pyramids of Giza, they found the next clue and traveled to Jordan, after a stopover for the night in which Sam totally failed at declaring his love for Mikaela. On the way, Simmons called Lennox and instructed him to get his team, as well as the dead body of Optimus Prime, to Egypt. In Petra, they discovered the tomb of the Primes. Inside, Sam found the Matrix, which crumbled to dust when he touched it. Sam collected the dust regardless, and together, they traveled back to Egypt.

Meanwhile, the NEST team parachuted down and prepared for battle near the pyramids, having realised the Decepticons were on their way. Before Sam and the others could get back to Lennox and his people, the Decepticons commenced their assault. While the Autobots and NEST fought the Decepticons, Megatron used Sam's parents to lure him into a trap. Sam, falling into the trap, stalled for time by offering to hand over the Matrix dust to the Constructicon Rampage, till he was rescued by Bumblebee. Sam ordered Bumblebee to get his parents to safety while he and Mikaela tried to reach Optimus Prime's body.

Sam was mortally wounded by the blast of a shot fired by Megatron. While paramedics tried to reanimate him, the Matrix dust was spilled across his hand, and Sam encountered the dead Primes in a vision. The Primes told him that he was destined to find the Matrix and save the life of the last Prime. Sam returned to life, and the dust in his hand reassembled itself into the Matrix. Sam took the opportunity to tell Mikaela that he loved her. With the Matrix, Sam was able to revive Optimus Prime, who ultimately was able to defeat the Fallen.

With the battle won, the Autobots, NEST, Sam and his friends returned to the USA on board of an aircraft carrier. Sam and Optimus Prime checked out the view from the back. Upon his return, Sam continued to attend college. Revenge of the Fallen (film)
* Sam was not given the nickname "Spike", nor his father the nickname "Sparkplug" (though his wife does refer to him as "Spark"), because unlike their G1 counterparts the movie characters are not oil rig workers or mechanics. Earlier drafts of the script did have Sam earning the nickname "Spike" another way, but this was dropped before the script was finalized.

* Thanks to his brawl with Frenzy, the back of Sam's shirt is ripped, leaving a hole in the back exposing his back. Interestingly, no one points this out to him or even notices during the time he gets a replacement jacket.

* He's not getting a Porsche. Srsly.

* He doesn't masturbate. Especially not to issues of Busty Beauties, which he doesn't keep in a treasure chest under his bed.

* Sam's eBay username <tt>LadiesMan217</tt> is a reference to movie director Michael Bay's birthday, February 17th. If 217 had the same meaning for Sam, that would make his date of birth February 17th, 1990. ladiesman217 is a registered user on eBay, with no items currently for sale.
** Except Sam's birthday, according to the Hasbro.com official timeline that came out with the first movie, is October 10th, 1990.
***Buuuut in Revenge of the Fallen, the shot of Sam's driver's license has the date of birth as September 13th, 1991. Take your pick as to which is right.
***The genealogy chart in the 2007 movie indicates Sam was born in 1990.
* In the Japanese dub of the film, Sam's eBay username is changed from "LadiesMan217" to "playboy217", since "ladies' man" isn't a term the Japanese are familiar with. To better suit this joke in the Spanish version, his username is "DonJuan217", named after the famed Spanish womanizer. In the IDW comics adaptation, his ePay username is "hotstud217". This is even more disturbing.

* In the Latin American dub of the filmWhich film?, Sam appears credited under the name of Sam "Spike" Witwicky.

* According to screenwriter Roberto Orci, he and writing partner Alex Kurtzman pitched the character of Sam as "Marty McFly on crack."
Leonardo Ponce de Léon "Leo" Spitz is a little nutty. From the relative safety of his dorm room in Hamilton Hall, he runs a website, The Real Effing Deal, from which he tells the world about the giant robots that the government doesn't want you to know about.
Leo posted three video blogs on his site:<br>
*The first of these was a video for all the "newbies", explaining that he was tired of lies and cover-ups and was out to expose the truth. It was also a personal shout-out to new users, thanking them for their contributions and saying there will be new "merch" coming soon.<br>
*The second was an angry shout-out to Robo-Warrior, telling him to back-off of his site and stories and that being from New York and not living in Kansas anymore, Leo would "cut him" if he had to or get something else to cut him, which Leo apparently didn't want to do. On the positive side, the site was doing well and they had plenty of new "merch" to "represent".<br>
*The last was a video saying that "Project: Invade the Campus" was in effect and that despite relocating, they would continue to operate the site.

Leo's last tweet on his twitter page was on June 24, 2009 at 9:02AM and consisted of the cryptic message, "DUDE! WTF IS THAT!!!"The Real Effing Deal

Sam met Leo when moving into his dorm room, and was quickly introduced to his roommate's... eccentricities. Leo hastily escorted Sam into a makeshift situation room, where his buddies Fassbinder and Sharsky were hard at work chronicling the breaking story in Shanghai. Leo was crestfallen when he failed to impress his new roomie with his media empire, or even the kitten calendars, but he ultimately shrugged it off and showed Sam the woman he intended to one day marry, Alice. Later that night he dragged Sam to the first fraternity party of the year, where he believed he was certain to get his "Spitzy Spitz" on.

Days later he had concocted a subtle and nuanced plan to woo Alice by presenting her with a meat-laden pizza. Unfortunately she brushed him off, and was ultimately more interested in Leo's roommate's scribbles. She didn't even grant Leo's humble request to watch! Women. Of course, shortly afterwards he discovered it was all an alien plot to silence his website's truth-finding mission. Realizing he had led his newfound friends into danger, he fled only to be captured by Grindor and taken to Megatron.

Curiously, the Decepticon leader seemed uninterested in Leo, apparently playing coy with the intrepid web journalist while he waxed loquacious about dissecting Sam. Thankfully the Autobots arrived, and understanding the crucial asset Leo represented assigned Bumblebee to safely evacuate him.

Now a fugitive alongside his friends, Leo began to waver at the weight of what was going on, leading the Autobots Skids and Mudflap to consider killing him so they wouldn't have to worry about him. Once he realized the magnitude of the threat facing Earth, Leo's savvy again proved the key to unraveling the mystery as he used his inside contacts to lead Sam to former government agent Seymour Simmons. Though he and Simmons had crossed swords more than once on the internet, Leo was magnanimous, extending the olive branch to his rival. Thus, Simmons allowed Leo to play a central role in their crafty plan to infiltrate the Smithsonian Institute National Air and Space Museum. Successfully beguiling the guards, Leo took out several of them before his ninja-like moves proved a little too smooth, and he applied his taser to himself... in the gonads.

Leo recovered quickly, and was whisked away with the others to Egypt when the ancient Decepticon turncoat Jetfire opened a space bridge. Though he employed the catlike grace he was known for, his pride and joy was ultimately dealt another blow when Sam's girlfriend unceremoniously landed on it. When Sam thought that the long lost Matrix of Leadership might be able to restore the slain Optimus Prime to life, Leo accompanied his new friends on their quest. Leo showed his uncanny powers of reasoning and skepticism as the group approached the Tomb of the Primes, and openly questioned if "Grandpa Blackbird" might be ill-informed, but his insightful observations led Sam to discover the wonders hiding under his very nose.

As they returned to Egypt, the monstrous Decepticon Starscream began dropping missiles on their position. At this point, Leo's steely resolve began to waver, only reinforced with a slight tasering by Simmons. His steely resolve was likewise proven as he showed himself an able ally to Simmons in the decisive final battle, saving the latter's life when he was nearly sucked into the maw of Devastator. Resting only when the job was done, Leo stood as a true hero for our times. Revenge of the Fallen (film)
Whether he's formed from six, seven, or even nine Constructicons, Devastator is a giant among giants. He is in fact so huge that his body simply cannot support itself when carrying his weight upright, forcing him to lumber on all fours.

Devastator is a tormented being, his very formation wracking his component Constructicons with pain and stressing them to the breaking point both physically and mentally. The imperfect fusion process produces a mind that's very much less than the sum of its parts; rage and pain are all he knows, pushing aside whatever intelligence he might possess. Devastator relies on almost pure instinct in battle.

Devastator is named after Cybertron's unwithstandable and terrifyingly destructive Devastator Winds, due to his intimidating strength. Devastator can also create powerful gravity wells by generating an artificial black hole with his Vortex Grinder, located in his mouth. Nearby objects are drawn into his gaping mouth to be crushed.
Upon arrival in Egypt, the Constructicons that made up Devastator combined and attacked Leo Spitz, Seymour Simmons, Skids, and Mudflap. It rampaged through the construction facility, sucking up anything not anchored down, such as sand, cars, and Mudflap. Despite the powerful vacuum, Mudflap held out for a while before being sucked further in. Seeking vengeance, Skids clambered up Devastator for revenge. However, Mudflap had survived, and he blasted a hole through the giant Decepticon's eye to climb out before further attacking the combiner and slowing it down.
Megatron yelled Devastator's name from atop the Great Pyramid of Giza to end the twins' distraction. Devastator clambered out the construction pit and grappled his way to the peak of the pyramid, where he used his turbine breath to suck up the stones that hid the solar harvester inside. By this point, Simmons had made his way to the pyramid, and he radioed a nearby navy ship to fire its experimental rail gun, which had been developed based on studies of Megatron during his captivity at Hoover Dam. The gun's projectile hit Devastator, blasting off an arm and making him lose his balance, causing him to shatter into many pieces as his body tumbled down the pyramid. Revenge of the Fallen (film)
After the Autobots defeated Megatron and Starscream, the Decepticons' ultimate weapon, Devastator, was unleashed upon Cairo. Major Lennox's NEST forces as well as the local military were unable to hold back the titanic Decepticon, and were relegated to a supporting role once the Autobots arrived in the city. However, NEST helicopters provided invaluable assistance by laser-painting critical weapons subsystems for the Autobots to attack, such as his back-mounted missile launchers, his hip-mounted cannons and his arm-mounted guns, before they could attack his head-mounted armored node. Once the node was breached, Devastator collapsed in the streets of Cairo. Devastator is only visible in the Autobot campaign. So if you play the Decepticon campaign, you will not see him. Revenge of the Fallen (Xbox 360/PS3/PC)
Legends Class toys
*Constructicon Devastator (Legends, 2009)

:Like the on-screen combiner, but unlike the Supreme class Devastator toy, the Legends class Devastator comprises seven Constructicons, including the elusive Overload, each with individual robot modes. Because of this, he is a lot more complex than the Supreme class toy, with a more "layered" look than his movie counterpart had. Devastator is (roughly) Deluxe sized while standing up. The only real drawback he has is that he almost has no articulation. But hey, you can't have everything, right?

:In Hasbro's markets, Devastator will be available as a store-exclusive set, packaged in a currently-unique clear box in gestalt mode. A huge two-sided instruction sheet explains transformation in both directions from gestalt to vehicles and vehicles to robots, with the curious note that "Some poses may require hand support". In the United States and in Canada, the exclusive lies with Walmart. In the United Kingdom, the set is (to date) only available through Argos.

:In Japan the Constructicon team members are available individually. Unlike the usual EZ collection toys, the Constructicons are not blind packed but packed in much the same way as Hasbro Legends class releases.

Combiner Class toys
*Constructicon Devastator (2009)
**Japanese ID number: RD-16

:Devastator is formed from the combination of six transforming construction vehicle toys that do not have individual robot modes. Unlike prior cases of this format, Devastator's vehicles represent separate Transformers, and most of them have other non-combiner toys that do have robot modes.

:Despite the figure's complex appearance(from the front anyway), the limbs' transformations into combined mode are rather simple. Fortunately, this makes him a lot easier to muck with than some of the other larger-scale Revenge of the Fallen toys. This is good, because Devastator is ENORMOUS. His smallest limbs (his legs) are the size of Deluxe-class toys, and his largest components are bigger than Leader-class toys. While the legs can not be swapped (unless for some reason you want a backwards walking Devastator), the arms can be swapped around.

:The toy's electronics are all in the Mixmaster component. Pressing the button makes Devastator's mouth open and activates voice clips and engine sounds, as well as green lights in his mouth and eyes. Pressing the button for a few seconds activates his "Vortex grinder". However, the button trigger is so sensitive that he never shuts up. In Devastator mode, his mouth can be locked into the open position by clicking his lower jaw sections into the large tank treads that form his shoulders. His mouth is enormous, and it lights up all pretty and green. He can easily swallow any Legends-class toy and spit it out the other side by opening up the back of his head. Covering Devastator's head when separating him from the torso and turning him back into Mixmaster's vehicle mode activates the transformation noise, and after that somehow makes engine stalling noises without pulling the trigger.

:Sadly, Devastator has a hard time standing on all four of his limbs, and is most stable standing on his hind legs. This is mainly because the most weight is located in the head, and his fingers are not made to hold that weight. He will also look straight to the ground unless you lock his head in place with the lower jaw.

: Mega Power Bots Devastator is a simple toy for younger children, featuring plenty of playing sounds and flashing lights. His limbs have limited swivel articulation and do not detach into separate vehicles. He has a distinctly more humanoid stature than normal.

: Unlike regular Power Bots, and unlike other portrayals of the character in general, Devastator features a transformation! It consists of putting his arms up and laying him flat on his stomach, which lets him roll around using the wheels on his limbs.

: Pressing down the Decepticon shield on his crotch (!) spins the vortex in his chest, lights up his eyes and makes him utter one of many Welker-recorded phrases, including "Prepare for extermination!", "Crush Autobots!" and "I am Devastator!" Pressing on the crane of his excavator arm makes a cannon blast sound effect, while pressing the cab of his loader arm turns the scoop into claws.

* In the film, none of Devastator's components are shown as individual Transformers. This might vaguely justify why the components of his Supreme class toy lack individual robot modes.

* Devastator's final CGI head differed from that used for his promotional images, including more red panels and several pulleys and wires, four highly pronounced horns, and a trio of throat gears lit like a furnace, instead of a single, complex vortex machine that is lit green like his eyes.

* In the film, there are nine vehicles that form Devastator! A yellow bulldozer is seen unfolding and is then scooped up by Devastator's left arm, which has been formed by Hightower. Another yellow dump truck lines up next to Rampage and helps him form the leg. This means two things: It explains why Devastator's left arm has scoops on it while Hightower's vehicle mode has no such equipment, and also why none of the Devastator toys are movie-accurate.
** Hasbro's official line is that there are seven Constructicons that form Devastator.

* Devastator is made up of 52,632 geometric pieces and 11,716,127 polygons. The total length of all the pieces is 13.84 miles.

* Devastator is made up of 6467 total textures, taking up 32 gigabytes of computer space.

* When Devastator punches the pyramid, its hand is traveling at 390 miles per hour.

* Devastator's got brass balls. Exactly how is pretty questionable; even the crane Hightower would only have one wrecking ball as a counterweight. When Hasbro was asked if there ever will be a Devastator toy with wrecking balls, they replied straight out "no".

:* The Devastator Showdown track set does, however, feature one wrecking ball that chases cars down the track. Hmmm.

* According to Shawn Kelly, the ILM lead animator for Revenge of the Fallen, Devastator caused a computer to catch fire spontaneously and its insides to melt. One assumes he was exaggerating for the purposes of publicity, as it is improbable for modern computers to actually catch fire under operations for which they are designed, such as rendering an extremely complex model. The special features on the DVD do (indirectly) show one of the computers blowing, with lots of black smoke and the poor animator (and his keyboard) covered in soot. (This was all done as a prank, leading to said animator asking "What the hell, man?") Not quite melting, but still.

*Interestingly, despite the supreme class toy being formed from vehicles similar to his Generation 1 counterpart (dump truck, bulldozer, front end loader, crane, excavator, mixing truck), none of them form the same component in both versions.

*In Transformers Generations 2009, volume 3, a very early Devastator mock-up is pictured that places more emphasis on height than width (being rather creepily lanky) and includes among other things, a Sikorsky helicopter as a component. It was kitbashed together from various figures from other lines, including some from Spawn and Kamen Rider.

* Massive Black's concept art is totally different from the film version: a red mining truck forms the torso, an excavator and timber harvester form the arms, and the legs are formed by a military plow and bulldozer. The resulting robot is human in posture.

*Devastator has a tongue, which is cool and disturbing-looking at the same time.

*According to a catalog included with ROTF toys, the ONLY way for the Autobots to defeat Devastator is by combining Optimus Prime and Jetfire.

*Given that the film establishes multiple sets of Constructicons, it seems entirely possible that more than one "Devastator" could be formed.

*Devastator was in an early draft of Reign of Starscream, but was dropped at Hasbro's request.

The Twins received Optimus Prime's transmission for Autobots to come to Earth and help defend their new home from Decepticon reprisals. They met up with Arcee and Sideswipe and landed near Mission City, making their way to a junkyard with a homing beacon Prime's Autobots had left after the destruction of Megatron and the AllSpark. After a short period of training on Diego Garcia, it was announced that the Twins would be joining the other new arrivals in helping to counter the Decepticon incursion in Shanghai Alliance issue 4

Revenge of the Fallen film
After NEST was deployed to Shanghai, the Twins were the first to be deployed, patrolling the streets and taunting any hiding Decepticons to come out and "suck their popsicle". When Sideways tried to make a break for it, the Twins cut him off, forcing him to turn a corner toward a dead end...and jump through an apartment building. While Arcee's components jumped through the hole he had made, the Twins decided to go around the building. However, the turn was too fast, and Mudflap lost control. Although he took full blame for screwing that up, Skids still punched him out. It's combat, what's wrong with him?!

After returning to Diego Garcia, it was decided the Twins would take separate alternate modes, and a green Beat and red Trax were provided. Both Twins were impressed, and Mudflap announced he would be taking the green. Skids disagreed, and a minor scuffle followed, as Skids called the green.

When multiple Decepticon contacts were detected on the East Coast of the United States, the Autobots immediately went to counter them without NEST. Optimus Prime and Bumblebee went to rescue Sam Witwicky, Mikaela Banes, and Leo Spitz from Megatron, Starscream, and Grindor. While Optimus took Sam to the nearby Pine Barrens, Bumblebee rejoined the rest of the Autobots and headed to reinforce Optimus. Unfortunately, by the time they got there, Megatron had already killed Prime, and the Twins served as escort when Bumblebee took the three teens to hide in an abandoned prison.

As Leo Spitz started to have a freak out over what was happening, Skids wondered what they would do with the "shrimp taco". Mudflap suggested they simply pop a cap in him, toss him in the trunk, and forget about him. Skids, however, didn't want Leo in his trunk. Leo told the two "bumper cars" that there would be no killing. An unimpressed Skids told him to get a haircut and whine to his boyfriend. That evening, Sam asked the Twins if they could read the symbols he was seeing. They identified them as old school Cybertronian. Unfortunately, the Twins couldn't read the symbols, and weren't that much into reading anyway. When Leo came back, the Twins still poked fun at him, with Mudflap saying his panic attack was because he was a pussy. Leo however, knew of someone who might be able to help them, and the Twins accompanied Bumblebee and the group to New York City, where the source turned out to be Seymour Simmons, former agent of Sector Seven, who in turn led them to Jetfire at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. Jetfire in turn teleported the group to Egypt (an experience the Twins had no desire to repeat anytime soon), and told them of The Fallen, the solar harvester he sought, and how the Dynasty of Primes hid the Matrix of Leadership needed to activate somewhere on Earth.

As Sam continued on his quest to find the Matrix, in the hopes that it could somehow revive Optimus, the Twins continued their supporting roles. As they tried to evade some police, the Twins transformed to robot mode and hid in between some buildings. Skids described it as "blending in with the landscape, like a ninja", and Mudflap told him to shut up. As they made their way to Giza, Skids continued his attempts to blend in, only to run right into Bumblebee.

Sam worked out the next clue, and the group made their way to Petra. The ruins there appeared to be a dead end, and as Sam insisted that it wasn't over yet, Mudflap openly questioned why they were still following him, as he had done nothing for them. When Skids reminded his brother that Sam had killed Megatron, Mudflap countered that he hadn't gotten the job done. As the argument grew heated, Mudflap called Skids ugly, and a brawl followed, with the Twins damaging the ruins and nearly crushing the humans in the cramped quarters. At this point, Bumblebee decided to intervene and stop the brawl...by picking the Twins up, bashing them together, and throwing them out of the ruins. However, their fight had unintended consequences, as the damage revealed the Tomb of the Primes.

[[Image:ROTF Mudflap shoots Skids.jpg|thumb|right|250px| "Nobody messes with the Twins!"
"Yeah! We mess with each other instead!"]]
As the group made their way to where NEST had landed with Optimus Prime's body, Starscream began strafing their position, forcing the Twins to take Simmons and Leo away as distractions. Heading toward a quarry near the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Twins witnessed Megatron order the Decepticons to begin their assault, as the Constructicons arrived in the quarry to form Devastator. The Twins were initially unimpressed with the giant, until he started using his Vortex Grinder to begin pulling everything inside his mouth. And the Twins grabbed on for dear life, Mudflap lost his grip and was swallowed by Devastator. As Skids mourned his brother's presumed death, Simmons said that the only safe place was under Devastator. As the trio made their way under, Mudflap fought his way out of Devastator's face and began firing on the combiner. Skids climbed up Devastator's left paw and fired a grapple for Mudflap to grab onto. Just as the Twins grabbed hold of each other, Mudflap accidentally fired his cannon right into Skids' face, knocking the two off. Fortunately, they managed to land under Devastator with the two humans and are not seen for the rest of the film. But there are hopes that we can see them again in the third movie. Revenge of the Fallen (film)
Notes
*The Twins' final alternate modes in the film, the Chevrolet Beat (Skids) and Chevrolet Trax (Mudflap), were designed by General Motors as small car concept vehicles. At one point in the film's pre-production, another small car, the Mercedes-Benz Smart, was evidently considered as an option for a film character; concept art of a "third twin" based on it appears in various sections of the Revenge DVD special features, always in close proximity to concept art of Skids and Mudflap. Whether it was meant to be a third character related to Skids and Mudflap or if it was supposed to be used in place of one of them is unknown. What is known is that Hasbro has had great difficultly in the past trying to get likeness licenses from German automakers, which is probably why the vehicle/character was dropped.

*The toymakers seem to be a bit confused about the roles of The Twins in their final battle; it's Mudflap who blasts his way through Devastator's mouth and Skids who uses a grappling hook to haul his twin out of it, but this is reversed in the Fast Action Battler and Human Alliance toys, which give Skids the large arm-cannon and Mudflap the grapple. The Deluxe class toys get it right, though.

Approximately one month after the events in Mission City, Sector Seven inadvertently reactivated the Decepticon Wreckage and simultaneously attracted the attention of Starscream, and the subsequent battle leveled Sector Seven's Nevada bunker, costing dozens of lives. Secretary of Defense Keller immediately terminated the clandestine group's operations upon learning of the incident.

In the aftermath, Captain Lennox tried to convince his dubious and hostile superiors at the Pentagon that the Autobots were indeed trustworthy and would be a valuable asset. His superiors impressed upon him that in order for the military to provide full disclosure, the Autobots must cooperate fully, and that the unit was Lennox's responsibility now. After the burial-at-sea of Jazz, Optimus Prime and Lennox agreed that for the protection of their mutual homeworld, they must trust each other and work together as a single team. Sometime later, the newly formed NEST command commenced training at the military base on Diego Garcia. Alliance issue 3

NEST had a baptism of fire against the Decepticon scouts Swindle and Dead End in San Francisco: the mission was successful although Lennox was criticized for allowing the Autobots to transform on the Golden Gate Bridge. NEST expanded to a multinational force and began taking on Decepticon agents across Earth: Fracture and Overcast were destroyed in Europe, while Dropkick and Incinerator were defeated in Florida. NEST's victories were tempered with the ultimate sacrifice, such as when Salani died battling Jetstorm. When Bumblebee redeployed back to the 'States as Sam Witwicky's guardian, NEST received a much-needed boost in Transformers ranks when Sideswipe, Arcee, Skids and Mudflap came to Earth. This joy was short-lived, however: the Decepticon Demolishor had been sighted in Shanghai, China. Alliance issue 4
As Starscream was spotted in Zambia, gaining control over local rebel groups by using his internal synthesizers to create gold coins, NEST was deployed to the Zambezi River to battle Dropkick, Macerator, and Payload. Beachbreak was killed by Starscream while helping Optimus Prime not fall to his death at Victoria Falls. Starscream's Decepticons attempted to destroy a series of dams, but Prime killed Macerator, while Payload was drowned when the humans entered the dam and opened the flood gates.

Epps, Russian scientist Petr Andronov, Longarm and Knockout went to Peru, while Lennox, Kaminari Ishihara, Prime, Ironhide, and Salvage arrived in the Western Australian Outback. Epps' team fought off Ruination and Blademaster, while Lennox's group encountered Kickback, Tread and Trample. Before dying, Kickback revealed he was part of a Decepticon faction not under Starscream's command, which were trying to gather enough energy to revive Megatron.

At Diego Garcia, a small crab Decepticon infiltrated the base and hacked into the NEST computers before sneaking back into the sea. Despite the break-in, the NEST team continues their usual business, hunting another Swindle and Deadend in Rome. Unexpectedly, Starscream challenged Prime to single combat inside the Coliseum. There, Prime fell through a trap door to a subway tunnel extension and into a strong set of restraints arranged by Italian criminal Bruno Carrera - who was promised rule of Europe once Starscream conquered Earth - where he was attacked by Barricade. ===Revenge of the Fallen movie===
NEST arrived in Shanghai with a cover story provided by the Chinese government that they were cleaning up a toxic spill in the industrial area. In reality, the Autobot-human military alliance was hunting the sixth group of Decepticon infiltrators detected in the past eight months, with the hopes of cleanly taking out the enemy without members of the public witnessing the secret war. Unfortunately, the Decepticons, Demolishor and Sideways, wrecked a significant portion of Shanghai before they were defeated by Sideswipe and Optimus Prime. Returning to their base at Diego Garcia, Lennox and Optimus met Theodore Galloway, who was appointed their new Director by the President of the United States, and held a video conference with General Morshower. Galloway noted President Obama's serious concerns at the destruction during the Shanghai battle, and voiced his opinion that the Decepticons only remained because the Autobots did. Optimus said that if the Autobots were asked to leave, they would do so, but asked Galloway to pass on a message to the President: what if the Autobots leave, and the humans are wrong?

Little did they know, Soundwave was listening in on their conversation, overhearing details such as Megatron's location in the Laurentian Abyss, and the last All Spark fragment in storage at Diego Garcia. Ravage was deployed to steal the fragment, which Scalpel used to revive their leader. The reborn Megatron went after Sam Witwicky, and Optimus Prime died protecting him. Following Optimus' death, the Decepticons arrived in greater numbers during bolder attacks under the leadership of Megatron's master, The Fallen, with the promise of more if the humans did not turn Sam over to the Decepticons. This is because most of the covers illustrated by Revenge concept artist Josh Nizzi were meant to allude to scenes or situations in the actual Revenge of the Fallen movie itself.
Following the disbanding of Sector Seven, NEST was set up under William Lennox to create a combined United States Military/Autobot defense force against Decepticons.

The humans rescued Prime though, and Barricade and Starscream fled. The Veiled Threat
NEST have a secret base in a hanger at Edwards Air Force Base, California, which both monitors for Decepticons and possesses a rapid-reaction strike team for missions on US soil. Ironhide was the commanding officer there, with Sergeant Dundee as the strike team's leader. At least five people monitor and handle the computer side of things, and like the Diego Garcia base, they work on a raised platform on wheels. Transformers Comic issue 2.3 A Regional Command base exists in Wyoming. Transformers Comic issue 2.7 A second California base is at Andrews Air Force Base. Transformers Comic issue 2.9
Optimus was absent for a while, off in Australia on NEST business. Transformers Comic issue 2.5

The California NEST team went to Las Vegas to intercept and capture Grindor. They came close, disabling with with electrified cables and almost anchoring him to the ground, only for Skids and Mudflap to muck it up. Transformers Comic issue 2.3
Later, when the twins were at Diego Garcia, the Decepticon Sideways was captured in Australia. Optimus Prime returned to Diego Garcia with this prisoner, but Sideways was freed when Scorponok attacked the island. Since the villain should've have gotten that close without being spotted (there's an ocean in the way!), it was clear NEST's security had been compromised. Transformers Comic issue 2.5

Even later than that, after that whole Fallen thing (see below), NEST attempted to lure a motorbike Decepticon out of traffic in Los Angeles and into a trap. Unfortunately, Jolt fubar-ed the mission and while the target was captured, the damage was extensive. This made Theodore Galloway very happy, as it was a new excuse to get NEST shut down.
Revenge of the Fallen movie

Galloway ordered the termination of NEST and that the Autobots retreat to Diego Garcia.
But Seymour Simmons contacted Lennox, revealing he had travelled to Egypt with Sam to unravel the Decepticons' plot, and that they should bring Optimus Prime's body, as the boy had a plan to resurrect him. Lennox managed to get the information to General Morshower, who managed to arrange assets to be positioned accordingly. During their supposed flight to Diego Garcia, Lennox had the pilots divert to Egypt and then fake engine trouble so Galloway would be forced to parachute off the plane, so they could land outside the pyramids instead. **Networked Elements: Supporters and Transformers The Veiled Threat
**Nonbiological Extraterrestrial Species Treaty The Last Prime
**Nonbiological Extraterrestrial Species Team LG promotional tie-in website

:TakaraTomy's Revenge of the Fallen tie-in website uses the "Networked Elements: Supporters and Transformers" explanation of the acronym. This makes them the first toy company to explain what N.E.S.T. actually means; thus far, despite the existence of the N.E.S.T. Global Alliance campaign, Hasbro has noticeably not defined the term.

* NEST troopers appeared on Cover B of the Revenge of the Fallen prequel comic "Alliance #2" , but were nowhere to be seen in the story inside. This is because most of the covers illustrated by Revenge concept artist Josh Nizzi were meant to allude to scenes or situations in the actual Revenge of the Fallen movie itself.

* The native population of Diego Garcia were expelled from the island to make way for the joint United Kingdom/United States military bases. The Autobots are led by Optimus Prime, who believes freedom is the right of all sentient beings. Err...

* There is a real US Government agency known as NEST. The Nuclear Emergency Support Team. Of course, it could just be a cover for joint operations with alien robots. Toxic spill, indeed...

* The United Kingdom, Japan, and Russia The Veiled Threat have contributed tech guys and soldiers; China, Australia Transformers Comic issue 2.5, Argentina Tales of the Fallen issue 2, Italy, and Zambia The Veiled Threat may be part of it, or may just be allowing NEST to enter their territory. Either way, America seems to have sole control over how NEST operates. (That can't make China and Russia happy...)

* The Revenge of the Fallen toyline's Voyager class Ironhide toy features a different NEST symbol on his alt-mode doors; a white Autobot symbol wearing a red beret set within a United Nations-styled logo, with 'special program' written underneath. Meanwhile, Scout class Dune Runner features a NEST symbol with the Autobot sigil and a downward pointing broadsword (from a NEST special forces patch) replacing the cow's skull. Fast Action Battler Ironhide has the same sword symbol as Dune Runner. Yet more toys have the globe-and-Autobot insignia shown above. NEST must have a lot of bored designers on staff.
