As Jetfire has always taught us, the Autobots can win... with science!

Synopsis
Around a campfire-like light, Slamdance tells his Autobot friends about how during Starscream's raid on the new Council of Ancients, Slamdance fell into a fissure, into ancient Cybertron. The newly discovered caves are suitable for housing the Autobots who managed to avoid capture by Megatron and his Aerospace Extermination Squadron. Perceptor interrupts the story to bring the Turbomasters to the Think Tank. There, Perceptor explains how if Megatron survived the Space Bridge Incident, then logically, Optimus Prime must have survived as well... hopefully.

Nightbeat's team of Autobots have managed to defeat two of the Aerospace Exterminator drones that were chasing Getaway, causing the third one to mysteriously go dormant. When Nightbeat approaches to attach an inhibitor claw (so the drone can be retrieved for study), the drone reawakens and materializes additional armaments to fight off all five Autobots at once. A flare blinds Siren, but together with Joyride, the two ram the drone backwards, impaling it onto a spike. However, even this doesn't halt the drone, who tosses an explosive at the two, and then moves to terminate Slapdash. But moments before Slapdash can be executed, Getaway ends the drone's activity by attaching the inhibitor claw to the drone's posterior.

Rumble and Frenzy try to explain how neither of them were responsible for, under their watch, one of Shockwave's machines exploding. Angry at the delay in his investigation of the Aerospace drone technology, Shockwave leaves, but as soon as he's gone, another machine explodes on its own. The only clue why is a smiling face torn into the wall.

With Perceptor overseeing the kidnapping of the Exterminator Drone, the Turbomasters engage in a game of hide and seek beneath in the tunnels around the Autobots base. Flash cleverly doubles-back to hide in the Think Tank, but upon his return, he's caught in an anomaly from the machine being used to find Optimus. Flash lands on a strange alien landscape.
Autobots enslaved!

Synopsis
From High Command Aerie on Orbital Torus State, Praxus, Megatron looks over the landscape and recounts how upon his return, he quickly established himself as the new ruler of the planet. The Aerospace Extermination Squadron quickly arrest the Autobots. Megatron briefly speaks to Starscream, held inside a tank as punishment for the manner in which Starscream enthusiastically took advantage of Megatron's disappearance. Shockwave pulls Megatron away to attend to other matters, and Starscream is left to suffer, chewed on by Piranacons. Shockwave explains the difficulties in reverse-engineering the technology of the Extermination Squadron troops, and Megatron refuses to reveal the origin of the technology.

Elsewhere in Praxus, Decepticons boss around enslaved Autobots, directing them deep into the planet. Cliffjumper falls over, and Octane and Barrage are ready to whip him as needless punishment, but Brawn, tired of the oppression, attacks the two Decepticons. With a glance, a nearby Aero-drone causes electricity to fry Brawn. Ultra Magnus watches the uprising, but returns to work.

Back in his base, Megatron argues about the creative control of the takeover with his off-screen masters. Done arguing, Megatron changes his focus to Soundwave's report. Soundwave shows Megatron an image of Cybertron's core.

Through Torus State Nova Cronum, three Extermination Squadron troops follow Getaway into an ambush. Nightbeat, Siren, Hosehead, Joyride, and Slapdash spring out to rescue Getaway and capture one of the drones. To make sure more drones don't arrive, Nightbeat sends a radio message to Blaster, and the army of Autobots who avoided capture.
Peace on Cybertron! Or is it?

Synopsis
Ultra Magnus recounts to an image of Optimus Prime of all the hard work and effort and sheer strength of character that was needed for Ultra Magnus to fill the void left by Optimus, after Optimus sacrificed himself to remove Megatron from the equation. The resentment in Ultra Magnus' words is almost tangible. Grimlock arrives and announces that it's time for the ceremony to finalize the peace between four of the six factions.

On Moon Alpha, Starscream rallies the Predacons, explaining that their plan is to crash the ceremony.

Live from the new High Council pavilions, Slamdance broadcasts from the Chamber of the Ancients, where the apprentice council members will fill the void left by the previous council after their murder. At the same time, a holographic projection of Slamdance broadcasts from Tyger Pax where the four assembled leaders will essentially shake hands. Grimlock admits to Ultra Magnus that there is a potential security problem with the arrangements.

The Decepticons and Ultracons arrive, with Barrage displaying some lingering hostile feelings. Ultra Magnus begins a speech, but Shockwave makes it clear that the Decepticons' surrender is just their manner of cutting their losses. Slamdance described how the ceremony deactivates the weaponry in each faction's storage, and stores energy from the four leaders in a ceremonial spherical containment field.

Swoop radios to Grimlock, reporting a pair of rapidly incoming transports. When it's evident the transports are loaded with explosives, Grimlock commands Wheeljack to initiate protocol Hydra-Nine, but that doesn't stop the transports from exploding.

Slamdance loses the signal from Tyger Pax, but has something more important to worry about: Starscream breaks into the chamber and executes the new Council.

The rest of the Predacons stand in the area leveled by the explosion, but when the smoke clears, the Autobots and Decepticons emerge ready to fight back against their assailants. Their survival is attributed to smart thinking on Grimlock's behalf; he expanded the energy field used to hold the leader's energy into a shield to protect the leaders. Ultra Magnus says that now the remaining insurgents won't be able to do any real harm. As if on cue, a sniper shot from Motormaster tears through the shielding and is headed right for Magnus. Grimlock sees the shot and steps in to take the hit instead of the Autobot leader.

With Grimlock down, Wheeljack and the three remaining leaders suddenly find themselves surrounded by an army of soldiers similar in design to Starscream, but they are actually the Aerospace Extermination Squadron. A plethora of drones loyal to Megatron!
As the Autobots begin their final push against Shockwave's oppression, Ultra Magnus finally meets with Shockwave for explanations.

Synopsis
The Autobot resistance rushes into battle against Shockwave's fortress, defended by the Guardian robots. While Prime leads the united front, Hot Rod recounts how only three breems ago, Optimus quickly brought together the divided Autobot resistance groups into a single fighting force.

Ultra Magnus consults with Perceptor over the state of the Dinobots. Magnus orders the Dinobots to be quickly repaired (despite the hostilities Grimlock retains towards Magnus). Magnus then leaves to go finally meet with Shockwave and get a much-needed explanation.

Shockwave, repaired after his battle against Grimlock, is glad to see that all events are proceeding as he arranged. The one loose end however, is Starscream. On Shockwave's command, Reflector (from the monitoring womb) locates Starscream in the alleyways. But their input deceives them as Starscream ambushes Reflector and takes control of the womb. Soundwave arrives to join Starscream, who pays for Soundwave's service with the cassette-bot, Ratbat.

Ultra Magnus finally confronts Shockwave and demands an explanation on why Shockwave has let the situation on Cybertron degenerate (suspecting Shockwave was responsible for the unleashing of Menasor after discovering a component of Frenzy at the site of the rampage). Shockwave, as usual, dismisses Magnus to go defend against the Autobot attack. As Ultra Magnus leaves (unsatisfied with the meeting), Shockwave readies his gun.

Witnessing the murder of Ultra Magnus on a nearby monitor, Optimus Prime transforms and drives into Shockwave's citadel, while the other Autobots provide cover-fire. Making his way into the command tower, Optimus only briefly stops to demand information regarding Shockwave's whereabouts from Skywarp.

In Shockwave's throne room, all Optimus finds is Ultra Magnus. The two leaders make amends with each other, and Optimus vows to find the underlying cause of the events. Magnus points Optimus in the direction that Shockwave has retreated to, where Optimus finds a secret tunnel. Carefully venturing towards the grand heart of Shockwave's scheme, Optimus opens a door with a mysterious logo, but the glorious light from inside blinds him.

Outside, the Autobots continue their battle against Shockwave's army, without their leader. Where Hot Rod's gunfire fails, Ironhide succeeds using some ingenuity and liquid nitrogen. Before the two have time to relax, Springer reminds the two the battle isn't over.

Inside, Shockwave overpowers Optimus, tearing open and pulling the Matrix out of his chest. From the pinnacle of Shockwave's tower, a bright light shines magnificently, (with a solid beam of light shooting off into the distances of space to some unknown destination). Deciding that Shockwave's agenda has gone far enough, Starscream decides to lead his team off-planet again.

While Shockwave starts to gloat that everything has gone perfectly according to plan—Ultra Magnus reawakens!
* Although unstated, it was presumably Starscream and Soundwave who directed footage of Shockwave's betrayal of Ultra Magnus to the outside.

:The First One is a humanoid alien from the Generation 1 continuity family.

The First One is the just ruler of Femax, a planet inhabited by a race of Transformer-sized humans whose males are mentally inferior to females, and where the two genders live in strict separation.

As a result of this dichotomy, the First One has no respect for males and is highly distrustful of them, but like any ruler of a world of warrior women, she awaits the one male who can prove her equal.

Fiction
Marvel Comics continuity
The First One's day was interrupted when Shandikar, the commander of her guard, brought in two "men" who had dared to set foot in the Golden Realm. Whereas Landmine's hostile attitude did not impress her, Cloudburst's diplomatic words and pacifistic demeanor made her decide to give the trespassers a chance to avoid punishment. As the women of Femax value physical skills above all else, the First One ordered Cloudburst to prove if he was as fine a fighter as he was a talker.

Naturally, Cloudburst passed all the tests, leaving the First One quite intrigued by this rare specimen of a man. As such, she invited him to discuss his "reward" in her quarters, which he warily accepted. Once in the privacy of her domain, the First One began making the moves on him, rather easily talking him out of his armor. Cloudburst played along until the First One suggested he become the Second One - her mate. Realizing his mistake, Cloudburst revealed to her that he was, in fact, a robot and thus incapable of being her mate.

Enraged by this deceit, the First One lopped off his head and took it outside to Landmine. Rather than taking on the Femaxians though, Landmine decided to act like Cloudburst, lowering his weapon and repeating that he and his friend only had come to help another, not to harm anyone. Taken aback by this behaviour, the First One realized she had been wrong in letting emotions cloud her judgement, and ordered her guards to lower their weapons as well.

The Femaxians repaired Cloudburst and the First One publicly apologized to both robots and to her people for her shallowness. As a token of respect and friendship, she gave Cloudburst and Landmine a supply of the lead sulfide crystals they had come to find, then bade them farewell. Recipe for Disaster!
Friday
*Pre-registrant semi-formal dinner, starring Seafood Louis. Highlights included:
* A screening of "First Encounter", the first episode of the upcoming Armada cartoon. The audience was highly enthusiastic about the episode, bursting into cheers when Optimus Prime first appeared (and spoke, revealing Garry Chalk's voice). Little did they realize what they were setting themselves up for...
* Dinner attendees received a bonus gift of one Deluxe size-class Armada toy and one Mini-Con 3-pack. This was supposed to be a great treat, as the Armada toyline was just beginning, and these would have been as-yet unreleased toys. However, the first Armada toys had unexpectedly hit stores a few weeks early, just before the convention, and thus many of the hardcore fans present at the dinner already owned them.

Optimus Prime starred in a couple of movies that made millions of dollars. Woohoo!

Toys
Transformers (2007)
As a tribute to his immense popularity, Optimus Prime is the only Movie Transformer with a toy in every regular category (Legend, Fast Action, Deluxe, Voyager, and Leader.) This is excluding his Cyber Stomper and transformable gun toys.

Legends Class toys
*Optimus Prime (Legends, 2007)
**Japanese name: EZ Collection Optimus Prime

: Legends class Optimus Prime is an extremely simplified toy of the extremely complex movie design. As such, he features numerous unavoidable inaccuracies, such as not transforming or even looking very much like the original design or the larger toy versions in robot mode. However, proportionally Legends class Optimus Prime is not far off from the real truck and the Leader class toy's vehicle mode, aside from missing a smokestack on the driver's side. He is articulated at the shoulders and upper legs via ball joints.
: A Target exclusive, this four-pack of Legends Class figures contains two versions of both Optimus Prime and Megatron, namely Legends of Cybertron Optimus Prime, Movie Legends Optimus Prime, Legends of Cybertron Megatron and Movie Legends Megatron.

: A Toys'R'Us exclusive, this six-pack of Legends class figures contains unmodified toys of Optimus Prime, Jazz, Bumblebee, Megatron, Starscream and Barricade.
: The previously-released Legends Class Optimus Prime toy is redecoed to match the Leader class Nightwatch Optimus Prime deco. He comes with a predominantly black and silver redeco of Starscream.
Deluxe Class toys
*Protoform Optimus Prime (Deluxe Class, 2007)
**Japanese ID number: MA-05
**Accessories: Gun with flame attachment

:Based upon the "Protoform" (Cybertronian) appearances of the Transformers in the Movie, Protoform Optimus Prime transforms into his "entry" mode. This mode somewhat resembles a cybertronic truck, with false wheels sculpted onto the sides, and Optimus Prime's trademark windows in front. A flame decoration piece fits to the back of the "vehicle", creating the illusion of a flaming comet's tail. The bottom of the vehicle has small wheels to roll the toy across smooth surfaces. Oddly, it has NO automorph gimmick at all, a feature most main-line figures have.

:In robot mode he resembles previous Optimus characters: his angular chest windows are reminiscent of Cybertron Optimus Prime, while his near-animalistic limbs and color scheme are evocative of Beast Wars Optimus Primal. He has excellent articulation due to his many ball joints, and is armed with a rifle. The flame attachment can fit onto the end of the (non-firing) gun barrel.

:Some packaging variants of this figure (perhaps a Wal-Mart exclusive) included a free movie poster depicting a Cybertronian eye overlooking Earth. While an added sticker to the outer plastic bubble says "Exclusive movie poster!", it is more of a preview of upcoming figures.

:This toy was repurposed as a member of the Dynasty of Primes in Tales of the Fallen #4.

*Protoform Optimus Prime Fusion Cluster Edition (C3xHobby Convention exclusive Deluxe, Japan 2007)
**Accessories: Gun with missile and flame attachment

:An extensive redeco of the Protoform Optimus Prime mold that was exclusively available at the Japanese C3xHobby Convention in August of 2007, and later offered by e-Hobby in limited quantities. Most of the body is made out of transparent turquoise plastic in order to mimic its frozen state in the "coldness" of space, while orange paint is used on the front end of the "entry" mode, mimicking the heat effects of sudden atmospheric entry. The flame attachment is made out of clear blue plastic, with the tail end being covered in gold paint.

*Deluxe three-pack (multi-pack, UK 2007)

:This three-pack, which was available at general retail in the United Kingdom, contains an unchanged Deluxe Class Protoform Optimus Prime together with equally unchanged Deluxe Class Decepticon Brawl and Autobot Jazz toys.

Voyager Class toys
*Optimus Prime (Voyager Class, 2007)
**Japanese ID number: MA-13
**Accessories: 2 rifle/smokestack-fuel tank assemblies, 2 missiles

:The mid-range Voyager class Movie Optimus Prime toy transforms into an amalgamation of the Kenworth W900 and the Peterbilt 379, making this toy fairly inaccurate to the actual vehicle Optimus Prime turned into. Because of the smaller size and lessened complexity, the Voyager class Optimus Prime features a significantly different transformation sequence compared to the Leader class toy, and indeed, the actual CGI design. However, as the actual truck cabin no longer forms his chest, the cabin now features a small interior with opening doors and a non-removable cowboy-hat-bedecked driver figurine that flips out of the seat when the driver's side door is opened.

: In robot mode, Voyager class Optimus Prime is proportionally more accurate to his CGI design than the leader class toy and has a more accurate headsculpt. However, due to the aforementioned lessened complexity, significant sacrifices had to be made, such as "cheats" to the transformation sequence to achieve this. He is thus less accurate overall than he initially appears. In addition to previously mentioned changes, he carries much of the truck's front hood, grill and fenders on his back like a backpack. Nevertheless, he maintains a superb level of articulation and posability.

: Optimus Prime is armed with two large rifles formed out of a combination of both smokestacks and fuel tanks. These rifles peg into his lower arms with grips for his open hands. The under-slung fuel tanks can fire spring-loaded projectiles. In vehicle mode, both smokestack rifles can be deployed as twin cannons, and this mechanism can also be used to store the rifles and deploy them as shoulder guns in robot mode.

*Robo-Vision Optimus Prime (Voyager, 2007)
**Accessories: 2 rifle/smokestack-fuel tank assemblies, 2 missiles

: A Target-exclusive repaint of the Voyager Class Optimus Prime toy, this limited edition version boasts a "Supermetal finish", resulting in silver metallic paint covering much of his paintable gray/silver plastic, a much higher contrast in his red and blue plastic colors and improved 'flame' paint decorations.

: Unusually for the smaller Voyager Class of toys, Robo-Vision Optimus Prime comes packed in robot mode in a special hexagonal column box with many windows, similar to the original packaging for 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime. The package also includes a Robo-Vision Decoder. Strangely, this Target exclusive preceded the release of the regular Voyager by a large margin, coming out on June 2, 2007 with the initial wave of movie toys.

:This toy has been retroactively declared part of the Premium Series of more movie-accurate redecos of core characters from the movie.

*Bumblebee and Optimus Prime (Argos exclusive two-pack, UK 2007)

:A two-pack, exclusiveliy available at Argos stores in the United Kingdom, which contains an unchanged Voyager Class Optimus Prime and an equally unchanged Deluxe Class Concept Camaro Bumblebee.

:A three-pack, exclusive to Sam's Club stores, consisting of redecos of Voyager Class Optimus Prime and Deluxe Class Arcee, both with a battle damage deco, and an unchanged Voyager Class Starscream.
*First Strike Optimus Prime (Voyager Class, 2008)
**Accessories: 2 rifle/smokestack-fuel tank assemblies, 2 missiles

: Released as part of the Allspark Power refresh of the movie line, First Strike Optimus Prime is a extensive redeco of Voyager class Optimus Prime in a colour scheme based upon Generation 1 and Classics Optimus Prime. The included toy bio describes this coloring as Prime paying tribute to the markings he wore as a young soldier when the war began. Due to the transformation scheme, this figure actually ends up being less like its G1 counterpart in robot mode, a sacrifice made for the slavish redeco of the vehicle mode. You can't have your cake and eat it too, folks.

*Autobot Optimus Prime ("international market" exclusive Voyager-sized toy, 2008)

:A single-packed version of the battle damaged Voyager Optimus Prime toy from the Sam's Club exclusive three-pack. Although the assortment number and the general packaging style seemed to indicate that this might be a Best Buy exclusive, this has been confirmed to be an "international market" exclusive. It has been released in Asia, but will presumably not be available in the USA outside the Sam's Club three-pack.

**Accessories: 2 rifle/smokestack-fuel tank assemblies, 2 missiles

: A second Target-exclusive repaint of the Voyager Class Optimus Prime toy, the grey molded pieces now are beige-grey and multiple parts that previously molded blue and red (the chest, shoulder pads, and leg interiors) had their mold colors swapped with extra paint applications to make up the difference. As such, the toy has very few visual differences from the regular release of the mold. This version was only available in a pack with an unchanged Deluxe Class Bonecrusher.
**Accessories: Removable Ion blaster, 1 missile

: The largest 2007 Transformers movie Optimus Prime toy, Leader Class Optimus Prime featured, at the time, the most accurate representation of the CGI designs' complex transformation sequence. He transforms into a heavily-customized Peterbilt 379 conventional extended-hood, and unusually for a mainline figure, he has rubber tires on all his wheels. His Ion Blaster weapon is stored in the rear of the truck's bunk, exposed like an engine block. Though Optimus has no trailer, he has a hole where the fifth wheel (known among fans as a 'hitch') is sculpted in the rear of the truck, should owners find a suitable trailer to use. Due to safety reasons, the tips of his long smokestacks are made of rubber. A switch on top of the cab roof activates horn sounds and window lights.

: Featuring a complex transformation, essentially the front and back ends of the truck fold and converge to become Optimus Prime's legs, as much of the truck rear is connected to the robot thighs via a series of folding panels. The rear wheel cowlings feature a hinge joint in the middle of them so they do not impede his knee articulation. The halves of the rear cabin of the cab, directly connected to the smokestacks, rotate and connect to his torso and unfold into his arms. As with most mainline Movie toys, Optimus Prime features Automorph gimmicks, and due to his price point, he has three of them. Firstly, during initial transformation, rotating his front fenders to become his heels flips the top parts of the grill to become his toes. Secondly, sliding out the double-barrel cannon in his right forearm flips out his spring-loaded Ion Blaster, which lands into place for his right hand. (The Ion Blaster can actually be popped off his forearm fairly easily, as it is held in place by a simple clip.) Optimus's final Automorph, located in his torso, is activated by flipping the silver lever on his stomach, activating a series of spring-loaded actions where the truck windows are pushed apart and the lever between them is raised, enabling the head to spring up from the chest cavity. At this point, yellow LEDs light up the chest windows and Optimus Prime's eyes, accompanied by a "powering up" sound effect.

: Optimus Prime has a wide range of articulation for a relatively bulky figure. He has ratcheting joints in his shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, with swivel joints and ball joints supporting them in his biceps, lower knee joints and ankles. Again, unusually for a mainline figure, especially at the Leader price point, his hands have individually articulated fingers and thumbs.

**Accessories: Removable Ion blaster, 1 missile

: Two custom-made pieces (presented in robot and vehicle mode) by the Hasbro Transformers team as the grand prize for G4TV and Jumpcut's contest for fans to remix selected Transformers clips. Won by TFW2005.com member James Zahn, this one-of-a-kind (well, two-of-a-kind) piece is an almost fully vacuum-metallized Leader-class Optimus Prime in red, silver and blue (based heavily upon Generation 1 Optimus Prime), presented with a custom display base with an embossed silver Autobot insignia and a perspex display case.
**Accessories: Removable Ion blaster, 1 missile

: The first Nightwatch Optimus Prime is an extensive redeco of the previously released Leader-class Optimus Prime, replacing most of his red and blue with different shades of blue and black. In fact, he resembles the original Diaclone Powered Convoy color scheme of Generation 1 Ultra Magnus's truck cab. The previously blue and red flames have been replaced with silver flames, while various other decos have been replaced by copper.

: This version was released in the UK several months before the AllSpark Power version. Available exclusively through Argos stores, it came in an American-style box with the original Movie packaging design. This version was also released by TakaraTomy in Japan.
**Accessories: Removable Ion blaster, 1 missile

: The second Nightwatch Optimus Prime was released as part of the "Power" second half of the Movie line. He is similar to the UK version of Nightwatch Prime, replacing most of his red and blue with different shades of blue and black, retaining his resemblance to Diaclone Powered Convoy in most respects. However, the subdued black and copper on the first Nightwatch Prime have been replaced with gold and a very bright blue, to signify the All Spark energy affecting the Transformers. The translucent parts were also cast in purple translucent plastic instead of black translucent plastic.

: Another difference is that this version comes in an AllSpark Power-style box instead of the original style.
**Accessories: Detachable, Retractable "energy sword"

: The Premium Series Optimus Prime is both a retool and a redeco of the Leader Class Optimus Prime toy. The major selling point is a more movie-accurate head sculpt with longer ears and detailing based on the final CG head design, and a flip-out energy sword to replace the ion blaster that was included with previous versions of the toy. This energy sword is detachable and attaches where the Ion Blaster did, compatible with non-premium Optimus Prime Leader-class-based releases. Because his ears are much longer, the truck roof panel that hides his head now has two holes cut into so the head can fit inside the cabin.

:The paint deco is...unfocused, to say the least. In vehicle mode, the grill, headlights, and bumpers (and thus his feet) are painted silver, yet the red in the small Autobot insignia has been removed. There is silver paint on the fuel tanks (toy battery cover), but not on the other tool boxes and equipment in the same location. There is also silver paint on all 6 wheel rims, the air cleaners and the windscreen visor. In robot mode, the silver paint is mainly located on his thighs and crotch, though in order to save on costs, the dark blue and gold paint on his thighs and knee joints have been sacrificed.

: Unlike the initial Premium Series toys, this one was available as part of the regular mass retail Leader class assortment.

:The TakaraTomy version of Premium Series Optimus Prime has a considerably different deco from Hasbro's release. Similar to the unique chrome Optimus Prime, Optimus Prime Battle Mode features vacuum-metallized parts for nearly all of the silver truck parts, for a greater resemblance to the polished chrome on the real prop trucks. Unfortunately, as his feet are the front fenders and grill, this will likely lead to chipping. In robot mode, he retains several decos that were removed from Hasbro's Premium Optimus Prime for cost reasons, such as the blue and gold decos on his thighs. Finally, the flip-out energy sword is coloured gold to reflect its "powered up" appearance.

:Fast Action Battler Power Hook Optimus Prime is a (roughly) Deluxe-class made for children of younger ages than the rest of the mainline and were designed to have quick conversion and action feature. He has a little string attached to his missle that was tied to his "backpack" for easy storage and so the little ones wouldn't lose the missle.

: This Wal*Mart-exclusive two-pack contains the Fast Action Battler Power Hook Optimus Prime toy, designated "2007 Optimus Prime", and the Classics Optimus Prime toy from The Ultimate Battle DVD two-pack. Both toys are identical to their normal individual releases.

: For some reason the Classics Optimus toy is designated "1984 Optimus Prime" on the packaging, even though it was released in 2006... but, well, he looks like Prime from '84, so hey, what the hell.

: Fire Blast Optimus Prime is a redeco of the previously released Power Hook Optimus Prime fast action battler. The color scheme is loosely based upon Generation 1 Rodimus Prime, explained rather oddly in the card bio as being the camouflage Optimus took while hunting Decepticons on Mars post-movie. ...Because there are so many longnose cabs driving around Mars. *Optimus Prime (Cyber Slammer, 2007)

: Cyber Slammers Optimus Prime is an amazingly cute truck that transforms into an amazingly cute Autobot. "Slam" his robot mode down into car mode and he rolls along for a while, then snaps back up into robot mode. Sure to please the toddler you brought with you to the PG-13 movie! Like most Cyber Slammers, Prime manages to cram most of his vehicle mode's major details into a compact, super-deformed version of that mode.

:Cyberstompin' Optimus Prime is a non-convertible action figure made for younger children. He has light-up eyes, sounds, a launching fist feature and a "targeting scope" in his back. The scope worked similarly to a View Master, and when you look through the scope, you see an image of Megatron.

: As part of the Robot Replicas line, this version of Optimus is a non-transforming action figure that utilizes Revoltech-style jointing. The sculpt hews much closer to the movie CGI model than is possible with the full transforming toys, plus the universal jointing of the line allows for his forearm to be replaced with his hand-cannon... or bits from other Robot Replicas.
Trans-Scanning
*Optimus Prime (2008)
**Japanese ID number: TS-01
**Accessories: Display stand

: Trans-scanning Optimus Prime is a Japanese-exclusive figure with many interchangeable parts. At its most basic, the figure is a spindly skeleton referred to as a "Core Body". To this skeleton, two sets of armor pieces can be attached to create one of two forms for Optimus Prime: his protoform mode or his Earth mode.

: The protoform mode consists of eight pieces of metallic blue plastic that plug into the arms, chest, pelvis and legs of the figure. With these pieces attached, the figure can be manipulated in a manner that might charitably be called "transformation" into his meteor-like "entry mode," accomplished by doing little more than tucking the head out of sight and folding the chest back. This blue-and-grey lump can be mounted on a three-piece stand that comes with the figure, allowing you to display it in mid-plummet. Optimus Prime's Earth mode, meanwhile, is made up of many armor pieces (including a particularly large backpack) that form a rather kibbly robot mode, which can then transform into a truck approximating a Peterbilt 379. We would go into what an abominable, unintuitive, parts-massaging mess this transformation is, but we wouldn't want to fill up the rest of the page.

: Optimus Prime also includes a pair of interchangeable, open-palmed hands that can be swapped out for the clenched fists that are in place in-package. The Core Body mold was re-used for the simultaneously released Trans-Scanning Bumblebee figure.
: Yes, a cake topper. This toy was only available by purchasing a Transformers-brand cake (or set of 24 cupcakes) with delicious blue-and-red flame-pattern frosting. The toy transforms from semi cab to robot.
*Optimus Prime (Spychanger, 2007)

:This toy is a redeco of Robots in Disguise Spychanger Scourge, painted to resemble Movie Optimus Prime. Of note is the tampographed detailing on his chest resembling Movie Prime's distinctive chest design. He was only available exclusively in Japan with a pre-order for the Transformers DVD and HD-DVD.

: Made under license by RadioShack. The three-function infrared remote, in Optimus Prime's signature colors, gives you control of the truck with forward and reverse turn movement. More than just a truck styled after the Movie character, it also transforms to robot mode. The top of the gun-shaped IR remote serves as a display stand, though the gun itself can't stand freely. The tip of the gun can also unscrews to reveal a hidden ball-point pen.
**Accessories: Movie-style Autobot sigil display stand.

: Partially constructed of die-cast metal, this small three inch figurine of Optimus Prime has a CGI-accurate sculpt compared to the larger toys, owing to the fact it does not need to transform at all. He is sculpted with his Ion Blaster in his right fist, and is articulated at the neck, shoulders and waist. He comes with a small movie-style Autobot sigil display stand.
: This Target-exclusive set contains the normal 3" Titanium Series Optimus Prime figurine (see above), a Protoform Optimus Prime figurine, and Optimus Prime in his Earth-mode truck form, making this the first time a character has appeared in their alternate mode as part of the Robot Masters sub-series.
:Revenge of the Fallen Legends class Optimus Prime is an all-new, much more accurate mold compared to the 2007 Legends class Prime, having a much greater accuracy in both robot and vehicle mode. In particular, his vehicle mode isn't inexplicably missing one smokestack like the 2007 toy.

: The top of the truck's bunk (ending up on his back in robot mode) has a slot to combine with Jetfire. For some reason, this isn't mentioned in the instructions, though they're hardly needed.

: During the May 30 launch event for the Revenge of the Fallen toyline in Japan, Legends Optimus were given out to attendees. The only difference is a sticker on the packaging commemorating the event.

:Voyager Optimus Prime is a redeco of the toy from the first movie's toyline. Like several redecos or retools of 2007 movie toys, there has been some effort to make this release noticeably different from the previous releases, though the toy ends up looking less accurate to the actual movie appearance than those previous releases. Optimus Prime has a sort of faded Autobot sigil on the side of the truck's bunk, and Chinese characters on the roof (ending up on his knee in robot mode.) The word "上海将军" means "Shanghai General" while "大将" means "Grand general".
**Japanese ID number: RA-01

:Revenge of the Fallen Leader-class Optimus Prime is an entirely different mold from the first movie's Leader-class Optimus Prime. While striving for vehicle realism and painstaking accuracy to his visual portrayal in the live-action films, this Optimus Prime is so complex, even the instructions won't help. Transforming him back into a truck is probably more complicated than shown in the movie and can only be considered torture. Like the previous Prime, it is loaded with features, though it ditches the first movie's Automorphing for the new Mech Alive gimmick. When a grey tab on his midriff is pressed, Prime's entire pectoral region "flexes", lights in his chest and eyes glow, and he declares "I am Optimus Prime" in Peter Cullen's voice. For the European release of the figure, to get past the language barrier, the Cullen sound clip is abbreviated to just "Optimus Prime"; in some regions, including Quebec and the UK (but only after a month or two), both versions were made available. A transformation sound effect activates when his torso is transformed, and once Prime is in truck mode, an almost unnoticeable button (a small square located beside the screw for the battery compartment, undocumented in his instructions) is revealed, which activates engine-idling noises. Each arm features flip-out blades that trigger when a button on the forearm is pressed. Each of these blades has a Cyberglyphic symbol on it. The blades severely restrict Prime's arm articulation when retracted, as they get in the way of the kibble, but as there is very little one can do with Prime's arms without causing the blades to deploy, this is hardly noticeable. One detail not reflected in most of Hasbro's photos is that the sun visors above Prime's windows are mounted on ball joints and can be positioned like they are in his CG design. The hood halves on his arms can slide up on their hinges and the blue panels at the back of Prime's lower legs can be pulled out slightly as well for further screen accuracy. Overall, the robot mode of Revenge of the Fallen leader class Optimus Prime toy is slightly taller and considerably more athletic-looking than the 2007 Transformers Leader-class Optimus Prime toy.

:Optimus Prime can also combine with Leader-class Jetfire to form his super mode by slightly transforming his backpack and feet. Sadly, this takes away from his leg articulation, because otherwise he could never support the massive backpack he has in this mode. However, fans have created alternate configurations that increase leg articulation and movie-accuracy.

:Like several new-mold Revenge of the Fallen toys, Optimus Prime suffers from some cost-cutting measures that affected the final production version of the mold. According to Hasbro's stock photos/back-of-box photo of the hand-painted prototype, the toolboxes on the sides of his legs were designed to fold away further for a sleeker, cleaner look. Additionally, the rear tires would have been able to split in half, with the inner half of the tire going inside the outer half to recreate the thin tires seen on Prime's CG design. Some articulation was lost on the toy between Hasbro stock photography and the final release. His fingers are no longer articulated; instead, the entire hand is now one molded piece. Finally, the lower arms appear to have been originally designed so that his hands could slide in or out of them during transformation. Sadly, he also lacks rubber tires, which the original movie Prime did have.

:The TakaraTomy release of Optimus Prime replaces the red plastic from his neck down to the middle of his pectorals with gray plastic. The smokestacks also are a different shade of gray, and are more opaque than the Hasbro release.

:The instructions for this toy are infamous for being amazingly vague and unclear in their visual depiction of the transformation steps.

:This release of Optimus Prime was available at the May 23, 2009 midnight launch of the Revenge of the Fallen toyline at the Shanghai Toys 'R' Us. Limited to 576 pieces, this piece was presented in a wooden box with a numbered certificate, Autobot sigil dog tag, and of course, the leader class Optimus Prime toy. The toy itself was unchanged.

:An exclusive to Amazon.co.jp bundled with the Japanese release of the Revenge of the Fallen DVD, this redeco of Optimus Prime is another in a long line of black repaints, swapping most of his red and blue plastic for black, some of his bright grey plastic for a cool grey and blue, covered with gold and silver flames. His orange blades are now translucent blue. Despite being a black repaint, the figure's color scheme homages Leader class Jetfire rather than any previous black Optimus Prime figure.

:This version of Leader-class Optimus Prime features a new lower face sculpt that lacks a faceplate, as well as the replacement of his fuel tank/exhaust assemblies with new, transforming versions that can combine into his ion blaster/barrage cannon. To the simultaneous pleasure and displeasure of people who had already purchased the first release of Leader-class Revenge of the Fallen Optimus Prime, Buster Optimus Prime features an extensive paint job that closely matches Prime's appearance on the big screen, including covering almost all of his grey plastic with silver paint or chrome, expanding and outlining all of the flame tampographs white for greater accuracy to ILM's computer model, and generally painting in small details, nooks and crannies that were neglected on the first release due to cost-cutting reasons. The red and blue plastic colors also vary from the original release, to better match his film appearance.
:This TakaraTomy Asian market exclusive Leader-class two-pack consists of a redecoed Jetfire and an altered Buster Optimus Prime. Buster Optimus Prime is almost identical to the single-pack Japanese release of the toy, but has a head with a faceplate, unlike the standalone Buster Prime. This head contains more paint details than the first release of Revenge of the Fallen Leader-class Optimus Prime. The flames are outlined with light blue instead of white for accuracy to the physical truck prop (though it ends up being inaccurate in robot mode). Jetfire has a subtle, more movie-accurate colour scheme.
The voice-changer has three settings, giving more accurate alteration of the user's voice (though this is still debatable; most voice changing technology is pretty crummy, at least in toys). Much like the Ultimate Bumblebee figure, this toy will hate your wallet too. *Optimus Prime (2007)
:The BK tie-in toy of Optimus Prime is essentially two toys in one. The first part of the toy consists of two truck halves, which snap together around a sculpted robot-mode Optimus Prime. The truck is squat and primarily blue, with outbursts of chalk-gray paint and red flames. Pulling back and letting go activates the gimmick: Prime "drives" forward and bursts from the truck mode, "transformed" to robot mode. This gimmick has marginal success.

:The "robot mode" of Optimus Prime is where the pullback motor and working wheels of the toys lie. Optimus is sculpted in blue plastic, pre-posed in an odd, crouching position with zero points of articulation. His right knee is bent back, with his right arm touching his knee, while the left side has the leg forward and the left hand holding onto his butt. The toy is as sparsely painted as the truck, with light blue eyes and chest windows, gray hands and feet among other parts, and red forearms. Two panels on his back have red flame tongues on them. He looks like he's scratching his butt.
:This small statuette of Optimus comes with a Blackbird plane representing Jetfire's alternate mode. The plane splits in two, and the two parts can be clipped onto Optimus to replicate the climax to Revenge of the Fallen. Sadly, the weapon is not film-accurate, being silver instead of orange. Notably, this is the only piece of Optimus Prime merchandise to have a mouth instead of a mouthplate. He doesn't just like to talk to himself, he really likes to talk to himself. Ceaselessly. And to make matters worse, he doesn't even do it very well. He likes to talk in a strange backward speak few can make sense of but himself.

This personality quirk might seem cute at first, but once other Decepticons realize he's totally off his nut, they do their best to avoid speaking with Weirdwolf. He's just too weird.
Generation 1
:(Note: Events in italics are from UK-only stories.)

Weirdwolf was among Scorponok's troops which followed Fortress Maximus and his Autobots from Cybertron to the peaceful planet Nebulos. After the Decepticons were soundly defeated by the Autobots, upgraded with Headmaster technology, Weirdwolf was one of the Decepticons who underwent the Headmaster process to even the odds. Now binary bonded to the Nebulan Monzo, he and the other Decepticons defeated and captured the Autobot Headmasters. Love and Steel!

The Autobot Headmasters escaped, and the Decepticons followed the Autobots from Nebulos to Earth, where the two factions battled in the vacant Mount Saint Hilary. Though Fortress Maximus's Headmaster partner, the Nebulan Galen, was killed, Weirdwolf and the other Decepticons were driven off when Spike Witwicky replaced him. Trial by Fire!

When Decepticons from the future travel back in time to 1989, following a group of Autobots attempting to stop a rift in space-time from swallowing the entire universe, Weirdwolf and several other Decepticons are displaced to Limbo. Time Wars, Part 3 Presumably, they are returned when the future Decepticons left for their own time near the end of the ensuing battle.

Scorponok's Decepticons soon met up with the group of Decepticons stranded on Earth led by Ratbat. Starscream aggravated the two sides towards a civil war. During the following Decepticon-on-Decepticon battle, Weirdwolf was run over by Astrotrain. Cold War! The Decepticons stopped their civil war and teamed up with the Autobots when it was discovered that Starscream had orchestrated the whole affair to distract from his pursuit of the legendary Transformers knowledge database, the Underbase. In the wake of this event, Scorponok assumed command of all Decepticons and, with Weirdwolf's help, placed a new headquarters, including an Energon convertor, under a swamp near New York City. King Con!

Weirdwolf and his Decepticon comrades were once again manipulated by an outside party when both Autobots and Decepticons responded to the Air Strike Patrol's stunt at Air Force Base. Weirdwolf pounced on Optimus Prime when Prime lost his temper and tore through the rest of the Decepticons. The Resurrection Gambit! The orchestrator behind this staged battle was revealed when Starscream, rebuilt as a Pretender, arrived and fought both sides in the name of Megatron. Skin Deep

When the second Decepticon civil war broke out between Scorponok's faction and a small group of rogues led by Shockwave, Weirdwolf was one of those buried under Scorponok's headquarters near New York. He was unharmed, however, and Soundwave ordered him, Misfire, and Fangry to the surface to help protect their commander. The battle came to a halt when all Earth-bound Transformers were instantaneously transported to Cybertron to prepare to battle Unicron. Weirdwolf listened to Primus (via a possessed Emirate Xaaron) tell the origin of the Transformers and their imminent destiny. The Void! (Marvel US comic) Unicron subsequently attacked, was defeated, and Weirdwolf was one of the lucky survivors. On the Edge of Extinction!

Under the pretenses of an Autobot/Decepticon alliance, Bludgeon led Weirdwolf and the other Decepticons to Klo, stranding the Autobots on their dying home planet. Exodus! When the Autobots followed them, the Decepticons ambushed them, killing all but five. Bludgeon sent Weirdwolf, Octopunch, Fangry, and Quake to hunt down these stragglers, but Weirdwolf had trouble hunting their scent. Finally, thanks to supernatural intervention from Optimus Prime and the Last Autobot, the Autobots were resurrected, and defeated the Decepticons. Weirdwolf and the remnants of the Decepticon army retreated to parts unknown. End of the Road! (Marvel US comic)

Generation 2
Weirdwolf was one of countless Decepticons under Bludgeon's command when they fought the Autobots over ownership of a cache of weapons on an unnamed barren world. Bludgeon ordered a retreat when a gigantic creature who guarded their quarry warned them away. Ghosts Later, he and the other Decepticons were ordered to rampage across Earth in order to get Optimus Prime's attention. Weirdwolf, like his comrades, enjoyed this job very much. Tales of Earth, Part 1

Megatron returned and quickly usurped Bludgeon, but not long after Megatron fell in battle against Jhiaxus over Tykos; Weirdwolf was part of the search party for Megatron's remains. New Dawn

In the fifteen years after the battle on Klo, Weirdwolf was one of the Decepticons under the command of the spacefaring Bludgeon and assigned to the command of the mysterious Bug Bite. Whether Weirdwolf followed Bug Bite of his own accord or was sublimated by Bug Bite's reverse-engineered cerebro-shells is anybody's guess. What is known is that Bug Bite had Weirdwolf rebuilt to remove his Headmaster technology, resulting in both a spurned Monzo and Weirdwolf being even less coherent than he was previously, having to resort to talking to his own wolf head in the absence of his Headmaster partner.

After the return of Megatron, Bug Bite's team arrived on Earth under the pretenses of forming a partnership. Weirdwolf and the rest of Bug Bite's team were escorted back to the Ark, Megatron's current headquarters. Suddenly, due to cerebro shells implanted earlier, nearly all of Megatron's troops doublecrossed him, turning their guns on him at Bug Bite's radio-controlled command. However, Weirdwolf's recreation was his team's downfall; Monzo turned to the Autobots with what information he knew, and a rogue Autobot team led by Ultra Magnus arrived and jammed the cerebro shells' frequency. Weirdwolf was critically damaged by Megatron in the resulting crossfire. Whether this was fatal for Weirdwolf is unknown. Games of Deception
After the return of Optimus Prime, the Decepticons were scattered across the galaxy. Suddenly, they returned en masse, descending upon Autobot City on Earth. Weirdwolf was among their number. After the Decepticons retrieved the Key to the Plasma Energy Chamber, Galvatron called off their attack and they retreated. But when the Decepticons brought the key to Cybertron to activate the Plasma Energy Chamber, it was retaken by a group of Autobots who were subsequently thrown across the galaxy. Scourge took a ship of Decepticons, which included Weirdwolf, and followed the Autobots to the planet Nebulon.

Confronting the Autobots in a cave, Decepticons were unable to retrieve the key, but did capture the Autobots' wounded. Weirdwolf dragged Hot Rod back to their ship. The Rebirth, Part 1 During the ensuing interrogation, the Decepticons were ambushed by the remaining Autobots, who had teamed up with the Nebulan Gort's native rebel forces, and had been rebuilt into Headmasters. The Decepticons' ship demolished, they fled into the trees, where the Decepticons were abducted by the evil overlords of Nebulon, the Hive. The Hive, too, wished to become Headmasters, and so Cyclonus offered him the Decepticons who transformed into animals. Weirdwolf was paired with Monzo.

The bonding of Wierdwolf and Monzo is depicted at the conclusion of an error-filled sequence of events. First, Mindwipe hypnotizes his reluctant partner Vorath, who is mistakenly drawn as Monzo when this occurs. Then Mindwipe and Vorath bond together, alongside Skullcruncher silently bonding with Grax. Then the voice of Grax, emanating from a character drawn as Vorath but colored like Monzo, declares "I am to be bonded to that creature? This project was a bad investment!" while the "creature" he is looking at is Skullcruncher, colored like Weirdwolf. With Headmaster and also Targetmaster technology behind them, the Decepticons retrieved the Key to the Plasma Energy Chamber in battle. The Autobots quickly struck back with Targetmasters of their own, but the leader of the Hive, Zarak, had rebuilt the Hive's city into Scorponok. Scorponok abducted Arcee, who was in possession of the key amidst battle, and with the Decepticons inside, it returned to Cybertron. The Rebirth, Part 2

Upon their return, Galvatron was unhappy with Weirdwolf and the other Decepticons' alliance with organic creatures, but reluctantly accepted them into their ranks temporarily since they had possession of the key. The Autobots followed them back to Cybertron, and after a huge battle involving all of the Headmasters, Targetmasters, Scorponok, and the new Fortress Maximus, the Decepticons retreated inside Scorponok just as it was swatted off-planet by volatile surges of the activated Plasma Energy Chamber.
: Weirdwolf transforms into a mostly yellow robotic wolf. He has some articulation in his legs (mostly in his forelegs), and his jaw can open. A clear red canopy on his back opens to reveal a cockpit/storage compartment for his Headmaster partner, Monzo. His beast mode tail has a blade on its underside, later serving as a shortsword in robot mode.

: As with many mammalian-derived beast mode Transformers, his robot mode is essentially his beast mode standing on his (extended) hind legs. A panel on each shoulder folds down to reveal a bank of non-firing rockets. Monzo forms his head, inserted into a slot on his upper torso. Some tabs of various lengths on Monzo push down three spring-loaded buttons inside the neck cavity, which in turn reveal his tech spec ratings on a simplified tech-spec meter on his chest under a grey panel. He is armed with a green rifle and his tail-sword.
:A bagged set of Alpha Trion and Weirdwolf was released at BotCon 2007 as a souvenir set add-on, limited to 1400 pieces. A yellow and turquoise redeco of Cybertron Snarl, Weirdwolf transforms into a techno-organic wolf. His articulated tail features a spring-loaded missile launcher that can fire a transparent orange projectile. Inserting his Cyber Planet Key causes his lower jaw to open and a pair of transparent orange fangs to extend from his upper mouth. Unlike other Cyber Key gimmicks, this feature does not automatically secure itself into position, so as to allow the user to repeatedly open his mouth with the Cyber Key. However, his mouth can be locked into the open position by rotating down the two pieces of turquoise 'fur' on the his cheeks.

: In robot mode, Weirdwolf is almost his beast mode inverted, as his robot legs are the beast hind legs rotated, and the torso and arms are the beast torso split and flipped. He is armed with his tail, which has an articulated handle that allows it to be held as either a projectile weapon or as a sword. He retains his Cyber Key feature in this mode. He comes with a green-bordered Jungle Planet type Cyber Key, which still has Snarl's Key Code, "d43j," stamped on its back.
Trivia
* In Bob Budiansky's run on Marvel Comics, Weirdwolf started out with his trademark speech quirk, but when writer Simon Furman took over, he lost it and sounded like everyone else. In Timelines: Games of Deception, written by Forest Lee, Weirdwolf seems to have gotten it back.
* Despite having the status of a Classics toy, Timelines Weirdwolf features the modified Decepticon symbol seen on the Transformers (2007) Movie action figures.

New Dawn

: This mold was also used for Fangwolf Black Version.
