'''King Poseidon''' (キングポセイドン ''Kingu Poseidon'') is the combined form of the [[Seacon (Masterforce)|Seacons]], created when the Seacon leader [[Turtler]] merges with one of each of the numerous Seacon drones under his command. As Turtler is the only sentient member of the team, it is his consciousness alone which controls the giant combiner, becoming even more cold and cruel as he tears through the battlefield with his massively increased mobility and destructive power.
After numerous failures on the part of the individual Seacons and the other Decepticons serving under them, Decepticon leaders [[Giga]] and [[Mega]] decided it was time for King Poseidon to enter the fray. {{storylink|Eliminate the Godmaster Ginrai}} The Seacon combiner introduced himself to the shocked Autobots during a battle on an island off the coast of America, and immediately attacked [[Ginrai (human)|Ginrai]], who found himself unable to match King Poseidon's raw power. As King Poseidon ground his foot down on top of Ginrai, the trailer Ginrai had recently added to his [[Transtector]] suddenly burst into life, flying through the air and knocking King Poseidon aside. Ginrai and the trailer then fused together to create "Super Ginrai", who seized King Poseidon and body-slammed him so hard that the Seacons forming his limbs exploded. Only Turtler survived, and escaped into the ocean. {{storylink|Heroism!! The Birth of Super Ginrai}}

[[File:Kingposeidon ginraiflip.jpg|thumb|"And lo did Ginrai toss King Poseidon out on his aft, as was before, as e'er shall be."]]
King Poseidon next battled Super Ginrai in [[Canada]], where he was again quickly overcome by the Autobot's [[Chōkon Power]] and had his right arm blown off. Sent tumbling backwards, the combiner lost his grip on his sword, which wound up impaling his own leg and destroying it. With two limbs gone, the Seacons were forced to disengage and retreat. {{storylink|Lightfoot: A Dramatic Encounter}}

It was some time before King Poseidon reappeared, but he eventually showed up again when Autobot Godmaster [[Lightfoot (G1)|Lightfoot]] clashed with the Seacons in the waters off [[Australia]] and was sent tumbling into a crevasse. When Ginrai arrived to save his team-mate, the Seacons merged into King Poseidon and collapsed the crevasse on both of them, intending to leave them both to be destroyed by a sub-sea volcano that was about to erupt. Ginrai's drone partner [[Godbomber]] soon came to dig them out, and King Poseidon engaged him in battle to prevent the Autobots from being rescued, but during their fight, the volcano erupted. King Poseidon was knocked aside by flying rocks, allowing Godbomber to extricate Ginrai and Lightfoot, but as they attempted to flee, King Poseidon recovered for one final attack. Ginrai and Godbomber merged into God Ginrai and grappled with the combiner on the rim of the volcano, at which point Lightfoot performed a "Chōkon Spin Drill", creating a water spout that threatened to suck King Poseidon in. With his attention divided, King Poseidon was overcome by Ginrai and hurled into the volcano, then hit with a blast from Ginrai's God Cannon, blowing him into his component parts. As ever, only Turtler survived, slinking back to [[Decepticon Base]] to report his failure. {{storylink|Escape!! The Underwater Volcano Erupts}}

[[File:Kingposeidon clouderdangle.jpg|left|thumb|I believe I can fly... I believe I can touch the sky...]]
A little later, the Decepticons found themselves approached by the final Godmaster, [[Clouder]], and [[Hydra (G1)|Hydra]] instructed King Poseidon to test the newcomer's ability in battle. Surprisingly the other uninformed Decepticons, King Poseidon burst from beneath the ground and mercilessly attacked Clouder, who countered by transforming to his falcon form, seizing the combiner's shoulders, and hoisting him into the air. As he was dragged over a nearby cliff and dangled over the ocean, King Poseidon attempted to free himself with his double cannons, but wound up having his limbs blasted off by Clouder's Chōkon Power. As he tumbled into the ocean, Clouder hit him with one more blast, blowing King Poseidon to pieces yet again and proving himself to the other Decepticons. {{storylink|Appearance!! The Final Godmaster}} {{storylink|Secret Orders! Destroy the Autobot Base!!}} Clouder was subsequently installed as a double agent within the Autobot ranks, and the information he fed the Decepticons enabled them to perform an all-out assault on [[Autobot Base]]. King Poseidon was summoned into action by Giga and separated into his component Seacon parts, which proceeded to invade the base and destroy it from within. {{storylink|Disaster! The Autobot Base Explodes}}

When the Decepticons captured Autobot [[Headmaster Junior]] [[Shūta Gō]], King Poseidon served as jailer for the young hero, holding him in an unbreakable grip as Ginrai arrived in the base to rescue him. Unable to act thanks to King Poseidon's hold on his team-mate, Ginrai was pummelled by [[Overlord (G1)|Overlord]], but the tables turned most unexpectedly when the Decepticon Junior [[Cancer (G1)|Cancer]] could finally no longer stomach the Decepticons' evil and opened fire on King Poseidon. King Poseidon's arm was blown off and he dropped Shūta, but Cancer pressed his attack, and King Poseidon turned his weapons on the youth, blasting his gun out of his hand. Luckily, before he could deliver the killing blow, King Poseidon was once again blasted to smithereens by Godbomber. {{storylink|God Ginrai: Showdown at the Decepticon Base}} Cancer subsequently sided with the Autobots and provided them with the information they needed to mount an attack on the Decepticons' headquarters, during which King Poseidon was formed once again, only to be promptly blown apart by [[Grand Maximus]]. {{storylink|The Ultimate Combination!! BlackZarak, the New Lifeform}}

[[File:Kingposeidon metalhawkswordfight.jpg|upright=1.2|thumb|Mine's bigger than Yours!]]
When the Autobots' assault resulted in the destruction of Decepticon Base, the villains relocated to the [[Grand Canyon]] for an attack on North America, and the Autobots pursued, splitting up into teams to search. The team consisting of the Headmaster Juniors and [[Ranger]] were about to scale a rock face when it exploded into fragments, revealing King Poseidon hiding within it. When their weapons proved ineffective against the giant, Shūta and [[Cab (human)|Cab]] grabbed his arms in hopes of breaking them off, but King Poseidon simply slammed his arms together, crushing the boys between them. Although Ginrai and Grand Maximus arrived to save them, the Decepticons pulled out rather than fight on, heading for the Alps for their final attack on Earth. {{storylink|Autobots! Desperate Attack!!}} Again, the Autobots gave chase, but as soon as they arrived in the Alps, [[Metalhawk (G1)|Metalhawk]] and the Autobot Juniors were almost immediately attacked by the waiting King Poseidon. Metalhawk engaged the combiner in a sword fight, but as they strained their blades against one another, Ginrai appeared in the skies overhead and knocked King Poseidon into his component Seacons with a God Punch attack. Rather uncharacteristically, the Seacons actually managed to stay intact through his disassembly, and Turtler had them immediately recombine to attack Ginrai, but the Autobot hero easily blew King Poseidon to fragments with his God Cannon, for the final time. {{storylink|Malevolent and Inhuman! The True Form of Devil Z}} Turtler, of course, survived the explosion, but disappeared, and was not seen either during the final battle, or when the other Decepticons fled into space at the war's end. {{storylink|A Battle... and Then...}}
After traveling to the [[Precursor World]], Turtler recreated his Seacon drones using [[Angolmois Energy]]. He reformed King Poseidon using four Gulfs while battling Optimus Prime over the [[Silver Matrix]]. {{storylink|Seacons comic 3}} Prime began blasting off the King's limbs, but he summoned more drones of the Kraken and Lobclaw types and replaced his lost arms. {{storylink|Seacons comic 4}} Optimus Prime could heal himself using Star Power, however, keeping their battle at a standstill. He struck King Poseidon with great force, causing the combiner to separate back into Turtler, a Lobclaw, Kraken, and two Gulfs. The Seacons regrouped in the waters of the [[Blue Planet (GS)|Blue Planet]], with all six Seacon types now upgraded by Angolmois Energy. Turtler initiated the King Poseidon combination again, hoping to prove the Seacons were worthy of respect and would never be looked down upon again. King Poseidon was shocked when he realized he still couldn't overpower Prime, who was drawing strength from his burning determination to protect the lives on the Blue Planet. Still, King Poseidon continued to fight, believing he could claim real power through the Silver Matrix. {{storylink|Seacons comic 5}}

King Poseidon's struggle with Optimus Prime was interrupted by Galvatron. Having reformatted himself inside the Photon Sailer, Galvatron emerged as Super Megatron as he brought down Halfshell and his ship. He mocked King Posideon with how Halfshell had been using him, but the united Seacons refused to listen. King Poseidon turned his power on Megatron, but was blown to pieces for his troubles. {{storylink|Super Megatron comic 1}}

Matters escalated as [[Primus]] and the Blue Corps of the [[Primal Vanguard]] joined the fight, but Super Megatron evolved to become Ultra Megatron Omega thanks to the energies of the Silver Matrix. King Poseidon re-entered the fray to protect Prime from Megatron (having restored his combiner mode using more Seacons). Even with an army of Seacons at his back, however, King Poseidon was broken apart again by the arsenal of Megatron Omega.
{{storylink|Super Megatron comic 2}} He eventually accepted his failure and reverted to Turtler. {{storylink|God Neptune comic 1}}

In defense of the Blue Planet, King Poseidon would reform again using Decepticons from 2050, becoming the [[Scramble 7]] combination. One of King Poseidon's forays onto the battlefield occurred when the Decepticons attempted to dupe the Autobots with holographic projections of legendary Decepticons from years past. Racing into action, the Autobots suddenly found themselves surrounded by a legion of Decepticons led by "[[Galvatron (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Galvatron]]", and while the holograms themselves posed no danger, the threat of King Poseidon was all too real. At Lightfoot's instruction, Ginrai combined with the trailer, transforming into "Super Ginrai" and unleashing the full extent of his Chōkon Power against King Poseidon. King Poseidon could only be formed by purchasing his components separately, in three twin-packs, or as a whole set. He features a pair of newly-tooled Combiner hands with posable fingers. As the individual limbs are not designed with gun handles for their Targetmaster forms, the pieces rely on the Combiner peg to attach. In true Japanese Targetmaster fashion, the Combiner hands forming the gun handles directly attach to his wrists. He also has a large trident-shaped sword formed by combining the melee weapons of the six individual Seacons and a large gun combining the individual Seacons' guns in a similar fashion. The promotional comics also depict a very unstable "Full Target Mode", which basically replaces the combiner's hands and feet with the gun barrels of his components' targetmaster mode.
:''Rack'n'Ruin is an [[Autobot]] from the [[Transformers: Cyberverse (franchise)|Cyberverse]] [[continuity family]].''

Loud, enthusiastic, self-congratulatory, and more than a bit dim, it's a good thing that the two Cybertronians known as '''Rack''' and '''Ruin''' are pretty much the same in both personality and temperament, because these two conjoined Autobots make up the composite warrior known as '''Rack'n'Ruin'''. Together, these two 'bots make up the muscle of the Autobot force, eager warriors always ready to flatten [[Decepticon]]s with their hammers and save the day—and although teamwork ''is'' their strong suite, it's probably a better idea to leave the actual battle plan to someone else, because concepts like "subtlety" or "tactical thinking" are skills that are definitely not in their wheelhouse.

As a member of [[Optimus Prime (Cyberverse)|Optimus Prime]]'s crew aboard the ''[[Ark (Cyberverse)|Ark]]'', the pair mostly perform menial odd jobs like lifting crates, stacking boxes, and... well, that's about it. Fortunately, the pair accept this job with the same kind of gung-ho bravado they'll express on their deadliest missions.

When it was determined that Optimus had made a mistake in launching the [[AllSpark|Allspark]], the [[Ark (Cyberverse)|''Ark'']] was launched to retrieve it, Rack'n'Ruin amongst its crew. As the ship sailed through the void however, its [[energon]] stores dipped, forcing the crew into [[stasis pod]]s. [[Teletraan-1 (Cyberverse)|Teletraan-1]] eventually tracked the Allspark to [[Earth]] only for the ''Ark'' to suffer a hull breach and crash-land in [[Mount St. Hilary]]. {{storylink|Eruption}}

Some 66 million years later, [[Shockwave (Cyberverse)|Shockwave]] trapped [[Bumblebee (Cyberverse)|Bumblebee]] in a false memory to try and extract the ''Ark''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s location from his brain. Within the illusion, Rack'n'Ruin was present at [[Optimus Prime (Cyberverse)|Optimus]]' announcement where the Allspark was found and cheered on with the rest of the crew. They later encountered Bumblebee in a corridor aboard the ''Ark'' and told him that there had been explosions in two of the engine rooms, not knowing that Bumblebee was the responsible party. {{storylink|Sabotage}}

Not long afterward, the real Rack'n'Ruin, along with the rest of the crew, was reawakened by Bumblebee and [[Teletraan-X (Cyberverse)|Teletraan-X]] in time to see the [[Decepticon fleet]] invade Earth. {{storylink|Eruption}} Later, during a battle on the [[Moon (moon)|Moon]], they knocked some [[Seeker (Cyberverse)|Seekers]] about, only to get blown away by a few projectiles sent by [[Soundwave (Cyberverse)|Soundwave]]. {{storylink|Sea of Tranquility}}

Bumblebee asked Rack'n'Ruin if they had seen a [[Cheetor (Cyberverse)|creature]] during their recent battle, to which both denied doing so. They managed to stack a large group of crates and continued to admire their work until a hyperactive [[Grimlock (Cyberverse)|Grimlock]] smashed straight through it. {{storylink|The Visitor}} Rack'n'Ruin were able to rebuild their stack until they knocked it down courtesy of Cheetor. {{storylink|Spotted}}

Rack'n'Ruin mocked [[Starscream (Cyberverse)|Starscream]] when he tried an Allspark-fueled attack, unaware that the Allspark was removed from his frame. {{storylink|Escape From Earth}} Unwittingly, Rack'n'Ruin gave Starscream a window for havoc, when an Allspark badge they dropped slipped into his cell, leading them to go berserk due to an overload. Prime later restored their party moods. {{storylink|Party Down}} Rack'n'Ruin were later frozen as they celebrated a complete stack... Only for it to be demolished once more by [[Arcee (Cyberverse)|Arcee]] and Grimlock. {{storylink|Perfect Storm}}

Rack'n'Ruin later celebrated as the Autobots returned to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. {{storylink|The Crossroads}} As the ''Ark'' entered Cybertron's atmosphere, Rack'n'Ruin eagerly awaited to return home. {{storylink|Battle For Cybertron I}} However, along with the rest of the crew, they bailed out of the ship when Optimus suspected a Decepticon trap. They took part in the fight with the amassed Decepticon forces, during which they fought [[Clobber (Cyberverse)|Clobber]] with a pair of [[hammer (weapon)|hammer]]s. {{storylink|Battle For Cybertron II}}

After the [[Great War (Cyberverse)|Great War]] was won in the Autobots' favor, Rack'n'Ruin were among the Transformers imprisoned by the [[Quintesson]]s in the Loop, which made they relive the same five minutes of a parade over and over. During their presence in the Loop, Rack'n'Ruin sold red and blue foam fingers. {{storylink|The Loop}} {{storylink|The Sleeper}} Rack'n'Ruin were eventually freed from the simulation alongside the other Autobots thanks to the Cybertronian resistance, who got them to transform when they unleashed [[Air Hammer (Cyberverse)|Air Hammer]]s into the Loop. {{storylink|The Scientist}}
In an alternate universe, it was Rack'n'Ruin who commanded the ''Ark'' when it found itself in unspace. During a conference with multiples of Optimus Prime in command of several other Arks, Rack'n'Ruin confirmed that their [[Wheeljack (Cyberverse)|Wheeljack]] concurred with the other Wheeljacks that using the combined power of all their Allsparks would be enough to create and power a Space Bridge to let them all escape. :Released as part of the reinvented Ultra Class lineup, ''Cyberverse'' Ultra Class Rack'N'Ruin is a Voyager-sized mold that transforms from a two-headed robot into a giant armored car. Like their Ultra Class brethren, Rack'N'Ruin feature a flip-out armor gimmick, and like Clobber, they feature more articulation than is typical for their size class, featuring compound hinge joints and mushroom pegs in the elbows and knees with ball-joints in the hips and shoulders. The mine plow on the front of their vehicle mode becomes a clawed blaster in robot mode. The facemasks of their armor are sculpted in homage to the v-shaped visor faces of their G1 counterpart.

:Along with a few ''Cyberverse'' figures, Rack'n'Ruin was meant to be released for the Japanese markets by [[TakaraTomy]], under the name "TCV-40 Weapon Trigger Rack'n'Ruin" with a May 2020 release date. Unfortunately, unlike the Deluxe Class figures, the toy's release was canceled due to either poor sales or the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, or both.

==Notes==
*Unlike prior incarnations of the character—who were formerly two independent Autobots artificially modified into their present state—story editor [[Randolph Heard]] has clarified that this version of Rack'n'Ruin was simply sparked as conjoined twins. According to him, Shockwave's creation of a [[two-headed Seeker]] was inspired by Rack'n'Ruin.<ref>[https://mobile.twitter.com/RandolphHeard/status/1061729208169164800 Randolph Heard on Twitter, 11 November 2018]</ref> As such, he looks a fair bit different from these past versions; rather than being two bodies with their own sets of legs and one arm joined at the shoulder, this version of Rack'n'Ruin has a more humanoid body, with two arms and two legs, though there is some lip service paid to the original, with them having two identical upper torsos on top of their singular hip. In addition, the two have humanoid faces, rather than the dome-like heads with visors of the original, with Ruin having a monocle-like right optic. This is inspired by the pair's original, non-conjoined Decepticon bodies seen in [[IDW Publishing]]'s ''[[Omega's Conundrum|Spotlight: Orion Pax]]'', where the two also had humanoid faces underneath their classic dome-heads, with Ruin having a monocle-like eye (though there, it was on his ''left'' optic rather than his right, having been exposed due to facial damage).
*Incorporating Rack'n'Ruin into the series was Randolph's idea. [[Mae Catt]] refers to the twins using plural pronouns, though the twins themselves refer to each other using male pronouns.<ref>"[https://shikai-the-storyteller.tumblr.com/post/613237429097365504/i-absolutely-didnt-go-back-through-and-edit-this Transformers: Cyberverse – Mae Catt Q&A Session (Unedited Edition)]", 21 March 2020</ref>
*The [[Mercenary]] [[Doublecrosser_(Cyberverse)|Doublecrosser]] uses the same character model as Rack'n'Ruin, whose similarity is noticed by the Mercenary.
Magna Stampede of the Magna heritage was a Maximal dedicated to duty and honor, descended from the likes of [[Pyra Magna]] and other prestigious ancestors. As part of the [[Resistance]] during the [[Grand Uprising]], he was partnered with his exact opposite, the volatile and rule-breaking [[Stockade (Universe 2003)|Stockade]], who had been a common street thug before the Uprising. Stockade came to Magna's aid during the struggle, but was fatally wounded herself when a drone pierced her spark. '''Tlalak''' is a planet with vast oceans and land covered in lush tropical jungle. The native [[Tlalakan]]s dwell in a city beneath the sea, probably because the [[Decepticon]]s have taken over their old city on the land. Within a cavern on that world exists the [[Well of Transformation]], a pool of water that can transform sentient beings between different forms.

==Fiction==
===''The Transformers'' cartoon===
The Decepticons conquered Tlalak during the [[Third Cybertronian War]], placing the planet in the care of a [[drone]] named [[Deceptitran]], who used an army of robotic drones to keep the population under his heel. All was well, and the slaves toiled to produce [[energon]] for the Decepticons for many generations, but finally a rebellion rose up and a large number of the prisoners escaped. Deceptitran's distress call brought a party of [[Autobot]]s to the planet, in addition to [[Megatron (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Megatron]] and a small number of Decepticons.

The Autobots fell in with the Tlalakan resistance, and one of them, [[Seaspray (G1)|Seaspray]], was even able to use the Well of Transformation to go native. With the help of the newcomers, the Tlalakans succeeded in reprogramming Deceptitran and driving the Decepticons from the planet, though the old city was destroyed in an energon explosion in the process. {{Storylink|Sea Change}}

===''Legends'' comic===
Years after its liberation, Tlalak was hit with a disastrous drought that caused even the Well of Transformation to dry up. To avert the crisis, Tlalakan [[Alana]] and her Autobot boyfriend Seaspray sought out the [[Beastformer]]s' Water Gem, an item capable of creating water, and used it to restore the planet. {{storylink|Legends Comic: Bonus Edition Vol. 64|Bonus Edition Vol. 64}}
One of a group of Tlalakans captured by Deceptitran and his army of drones, Chac was put to work with the other slaves building Deceptitran's floating city. Chac grumbled to [[Alana]] that they would one day overthrow their cruel overlord and was promptly seized by drones and taken for use in Deceptitran's energy extractor. The process took a heavy toll on him, and his unconscious form was deposited amongst the prisoners—a sight which spurred them into action.
