'''Twirl''' (トゥワール ''Tuwāru'') is the youngest and least serious member of the [[Sonic Assault Team]]. To many, she is a flighty, featherbrained ditz who is more interested in dancing and interior design than anything else. They are so right. To those who can understand Mini-Con speak, she has a chirpy, airheaded manner.

Despite this, she is a valued member of the Team, even though [[Falcia]] constantly cuts her down verbally. Twirl takes it all in stride, as she knows deep down Falcia cares about her. She's also formed a bond with the Autobot [[Ravenus]]. Her weapon mode is incredibly powerful; it's possible the main reason she's on the team is simply so she doesn't fall into [[Decepticon]] hands.

Twirl is ''not'' Falcia and [[Redline]]'s daughter, no matter what Twirl thinks. Both Falcia and Redline flatly and vehemently deny any claim of parentage. Falcia gets rather violent at the suggestion.

Twirl would have died there, but the Mini-Cons developed a plan to save her. They quickly put together a machine that would take energy from the [[spark frame]]s of Redline and Falcia to create a new body for Twirl while the two sent their consciousnesses into the [[Linkage (dimension)|Linkage]] to retrieve Twirl's mind before it could diffuse and be lost forever. She and Falcia accompanied Servo to the Autobots' base hidden in the mountains near the [[Cosmoscope Research Center|Cosmo Scope Research Center]] in Colorado, so he could tell the Mini-Cons who were under Autobot protection of their plans. Twirl and the other Mini-Cons set up machinery on one of the Hawaiian islands so Redline and Falcia could retrieve the [[Master Key]] and upgrade all Mini-Cons, freeing them from their servility programs and power-locks. If you hear roaring engines and a bellowing voice, but find no [[Decepticon]] fleet or looming [[combiner]] in sight, there's a good chance you'll look down and see little '''Whisper''' instead.

A tiny [[Micromaster]] with a big and loud personality, the ironically named Whisper and his brothers [[Nightflight (SG)|Nightflight]], [[Storm Cloud (SG)|Storm Cloud]], and [[Tailwind (SG)|Tailwind]] are the newest generation of Decepticons. Built after the war started, using advanced engineering to produce smaller, more efficient bodies, the four have never known a [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] at peace. The optimistic and energetic Whisper sees this as a way to improve himself, however, rather than as something to lament.

That irrepressible personality was what led [[Megatron (SG)|Megatron]] to partner him with the dour [[Sideswipe (SG)|Sideswipe]]. Though Sideswipe was put off at first, Whisper eventually lifted his spirits. The two are now a tight-knit and loyal team, able to combine to grant Sideswipe more power, flight, and enhanced weapon capabilities. Showing how close they've become, Sideswipe has even nicknamed Whisper, calling him his "[[Mini-Con]]".

Whisper was off in his own thoughts, however, until Divebomb spotted a vent and wondered how they could get in without being seen. Whisper then came to attention and told them to watch as he transformed and took to the air.

He flew behind the Temple, out of sight, then created the aural illusion of dozens of Decepticon jets flying over. This caused the Temple's defenses to spring to life and shoot at the sky, letting the Predacons slip through with only minimal retaliation. Then, as the Predacons stared at the sky, wondering when he would come down, Whisper surprised them by suddenly showing up behind them, then gave them a wave as he dove headlong into the vent and took off out of sight.

As he worked his way through the Temple, Whisper made enough noise that he attracted the attention of [[Scoop (SG)|Scoop]], who had been sent to scout for the intruders. Though Whisper was hiding in the dark, his clanging allowed Scoop to fire off a shot in his direction that punched holes in one of Whisper's wings. Suddenly stuck with no means of flight, and knowing he was no match in battle for the [[Autobot]], Whisper decided to think his way out...

He proceeded to start projecting his voice to impersonate the "ghost of [[Boltax (SG)|Boltax]]" threatening to take vengeance on the Autobots. It was a rather ''bad'' impersonation, but still enough to spook the perpetually skittish Scoop—until Whisper was surprised by [[Holepunch (SG)|Scoop's gun]] pep-talking Scoop to not be fooled by the charade, then transforming and tracking down Whisper's position. Whisper tried to fight back with a sonic blast, but he was chased out of cover into the open. He then found himself on the wrong end of a rampage of weapons fire from a now-annoyed Scoop.

Fortunately, Whisper came up with another plan. He projected his voice to convince Scoop to shoot in various specific directions, resulting in the ceiling finally giving way and burying Scoop and his talking gun. Giggling madly at the result, Whisper made his way further into the Temple.

He eventually reached the spot where Megatron was being held, though he was disappointed to learn it was after Megatron and the Predacons had already emerged victorious against the Autobots. {{storylink|Do Over}}

Months later, Whisper was dispatched to answer a Decepticon distress signal. A tiny [[Micromaster]] with a big and loud personality, the ironically named Whisper and his brothers [[Nightflight (SG)|Nightflight]], [[Storm Cloud (SG)|Storm Cloud]], and [[Tailwind (SG)|Tailwind]] are the newest generation of Decepticons. Built after the war started, using advanced engineering to produce smaller, more efficient bodies, the four have never known a [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] at peace. The optimistic and energetic Whisper sees this as a way to improve himself, however, rather than as something to lament.

That irrepressible personality was what led [[Megatron (SG)|Megatron]] to partner him with the dour [[Sideswipe (SG)|Sideswipe]]. Though Sideswipe was put off at first, Whisper eventually lifted his spirits. The two are now a tight-knit and loyal team, able to combine to grant Sideswipe more power, flight, and enhanced weapon capabilities. ==Synopsis==

''As the war between the evil [[Autobot]]s and heroic [[Decepticon]]s took shape, not all Cybertronians took sides at first. Some, like [[Cannonball (SG)|Cannonball]] and the pirate crew of the ''[[Rising Sea]]'' initially stayed out of the conflict due to his past disagreements with [[Megatron (SG)|Megatron]], but there came a time when Cannonball and his crew joined [[Soundwave (SG)|Soundwave]] in a battle to protect [[Iacon (polity)|Iacon]]'s [[Titan Net]] from [[Windblade (SG)|Windblade]]'s Titan-killing "Citycrashers". [[Flamewar (SG)|Flamewar]], fanatically loyal to her captain, took on [[Rodimus (SG)|Rodimus]] alone, ignoring her captain's warnings, and forced Cannonball to sacrifice his life so that his crew could escape. Without their captain, Flamewar and the remaining survivors slipped into a deep despair; during a drunken memorial for Cannonball at a run-down watering hole, however, Megatron approached Flamewar and her compatriots with an offer of employment—join the Decepticons and take back Cybertron from Autobot tyranny. Megatron believes that [[Slipstream (SG)|Slipstream]] is the new leader of the pirates, but this isn't entirely true: she might be their ''nominal'' commander, but the truth is that they go wherever Flamewar goes.''

Years later, Flamewar was a part of Megatron's ill-fated mission to [[Earth]] and present for the final battle against the Autobots. Ultimately, Megatron ordered [[Starscream (SG)|Starscream]] to get the surviving Decepticons to safety while he stayed behind; although the noble [[Seeker (body-type)|Seeker]] and his followers did what they could to rescue as many Decepticons as possible and limp back to Cybertron, Flamewar had now lost ''two'' leaders, and the experience taught the embittered Decepticon a valuable lesson: never leave a man behind.''

In the present day, an annoyed Flamewar gripes that Megatron still hasn't cleared her or her unit to take on the Autobots in the [[Static Zone]]; while Slipstream urges caution, Flamewar, still fuming about her recent run-in with [[Blaster (SG)|Blaster]], insists that she's ready for action. The pair argue back and forth about Megatron's true strategy before [[Shadow Striker (SG)|Shadow Striker]] finally cuts to the heart of the matter: if neither of them really want to be here, why are they still here? Flamewar admits that Cannonball would never have sat back and waited for the action to come to him—and with that, the crew of the ''Rising Sea'' transform and speed away to find the Autobots.

Out in the Static Zone, the group find [[Metroplex (SG)|Metroplex]]'s frozen form, surrounded by Autobots—including Flamewar's old nemesis, Rodimus. Flamewar immediately announces that she's going to kill Rodimus for everything he's done, Slipstream advises caution... but Flamewar, adamant that she'll do this even if her own teammates won't support her, promptly zooms away to settle her score. Slipstream watches her go, and murmurs that she'll ''always'' be there for her...

At Metroplex's base, Rodimus spies Flamewar on the horizon and springs into action, leaving an irritated [[Wheeljack (SG)|Slicer]] to drag their new prisoner [[Jetfire (SG)|Jetfire]] away to [[Ratchet (SG)|Ratchet]]'s newest base of operations. The pair fight until an artillery shell spirals into the battlefield and sends them both flying—a shell that belongs to [[Hailstorm (SG)|Hailstorm]], who tries to assist until Rodimus shoots him in a turret barrel and triggers a fatal explosion. At that moment, Slipstream swoops in to extricate her teammate from an unwinnable fight; furious and grief-stricken at losing another comrade, Flamewar struggles free and dives back down to finish the job—only for Rodimus to promptly shoot her unconscious.

Flamewar comes to inside the Titan itself... and right next to a shackled [[Optimus Prime (SG)|Optimus Prime]], who bellows defiance at his captors as they haul him away for an unspecified "procedure". Flamewar demands to know where he's been taken, and what's to happen to her as well, but Slicer only informs her that she's being kept alive as a bargaining chip. Fortunately, Slipstream's arrived just in time to rescue her friend as she stalls for time. Noticing that Slicer has some attachment to Blaster's severed head, she grabs the body part and demands to know what Ratchet's doing to Optimus—Slicer manages to get out that Ultra Magnus's sinister plans involve Prime's body somehow, but when Slicer leaps for Slipstream, Flamewar lines up a shot and sends the amoral engineer tumbling out of a shattered wall to the ground far below. Flamewar takes stock of this unexpected victory, and remembers her last conversation with Slipstream.

Flamewar decides that she ''could'' pointlessly avenge Megatron and Cannonball and everyone else she's lost... but there's a ''real'' fight underway now, and there'll be plenty of other chances to make up for lost time!

Ricochet and Jazz were overseeing the [[smelting pool]] when Optimus Prime and [[Rodimus (SG)|Rodimus]] brought [[Cliffjumper (G1)|Cliffjumper]] to [[Great Dome|their headquarters]] in [[Iacon (polity)|Iacon]]. He laughed with the other Autobots when the strangely-behaving Cliffjumper was blasted by Prime for objecting to the execution of [[Rumble (SG)|Rumble]] like a weak Decepticon. Later, during the Decepticon attack on the ''[[Ark (SG)|Ark]]'', he was felled by an unknown assailant. {{storylink|Shattered Glass (issue)|Shattered Glass}}

With Optimus Prime rebuilding the ''Ark'', the Decepticons decided to follow the [[Autobot]]s into space in [[Nemesis (SG)|their own spacecraft]]. Ricochet hatched a scheme to delay the Decepticons by capturing their leader. He thought that if [[Megatron (SG)|Megatron]] was absent, the Decepticons would never take off after the Autobots.

So Ricochet lured Megatron to the [[Temple of Knowledge]]. All the while making sarcastic remarks, Ricochet gained the upper hand with help from his Targetmaster partner [[Nightstick (SG)|Nightstick]]. Along with [[Scoop (SG)|Scoop]] and [[Holepunch (SG)|Holepunch]] and [[Crosshairs (SG)|Crosshairs]] and [[Pinpointer (SG)|Pinpointer]], Ricochet held Megatron hostage, demanding a ransom from the Decepticons.

The Decepticons, instead of delaying their flight, sent a group of [[Micromaster]]s to rescue Megatron. The gang of small Decepticons harried Ricochet's group.

Optimus Prime discovered Ricochet's plan and was outraged that his subordinate would take away from him the glory of capturing Megatron. Prime left the ''Ark''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s launch site to reprimand Ricochet.

The Micromasters had just disposed of Ricochet's group when Optimus Prime arrived at the hideout. Prime was none too happy with Ricochet's initiative, but chose to take credit for the scheme in front of Megatron. But before Prime could execute his Decepticon rival, the Micromasters busted in, distracting the Autobots long enough for Megatron to escape. Eventually, Megatron won the day, but both the Autobots' ship and the Decepticons' ship had launched without their respective leaders.

Once back at the ''Ark''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s launch site, Optimus ordered Scoop to take Ricochet and Crosshairs to the [[Agonizing Rehabilitation Chamber]]s. The sadistic smirk was finally wiped off Ricochet's face. {{storylink|Do Over}}

Later, Ricochet discussed the recent death of [[Megatron (SG)|Megatron]] with [[Optimus Prime (SG)|Optimus Prime]], when the duo were surrounded by [[Hound (SG)|Hound]] and [[Remote Patrol Six]], who intended to kill Optimus and install [[Rodimus (SG)|Rodimus]] in his place as Prime. Tailgate indulged Butch's power fantasies by taking him to [[Franklin Burns High School]] and terrorizing the students there. Butch particularly urged him to shoot [[Lisa Presser]]. Before Tailgate could do so, he was confronted by [[Sephie Beller]]. He didn't see a car around, so he suggested to Butch that she was probably a stray and they could take her home. Unfortunately for Tailgate, Sephie possessed a suit made from Cybertronian technology, which she used to deliver a jolt to his chest. He picked her up and attempted to drain her power using his magnets, however she retaliated with a blast that sent him crashing into the side of the school building. He charged at her, only to find himself being hit by his own energy-draining power. At that point Beller's suit overloaded, and a badly damaged Tailgate retreated with his pet, while muttering that someone needed to call the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Autobots. {{storylink|Transhuman}}

Tailgate participated in an attack on [[Decepticon City (SG)|Decepticon City]] led by Optimus and Rodimus. However, all including Slipstream were left to despair when Cannonball died to protect them from [[Rodimus (SG)|Rodimus]]. The crew drank away their sorrows at the bar when a resurgent Megatron approached them and recruited them into the Decepticon cause. Though Megatron initially believed Slipstream to be Cannonball's successor, he was soon corrected that Flamewar spearheaded the crew's passion for justice.

In the climax of the battle on Earth, Slipstream and [[Thundercracker (SG)|Thundercracker]] had to hold back a furious Flamewar, who blamed [[Starscream (SG)|Starscream]] for leaving Megatron behind to the mercies of the Autobots.

In the present day, Slipstream and the rest of the Rising Sea crew were some of the Decepticons that answered the call to aid the crisis in the [[Static Zone]]. Slipstream urged Flamewar to show caution, but Flamewar riled up the rest of their crew, and they all charged into battle against the Autobots. On the sight of Rodimus, Flamewar immediately attempted to murder Cannonball's killer. Slipstream tried her best to temper Flamewar's hotheadedness, wishing that Flamewar would see that the rest of her crew will always be there for her. However, in the resulting battle, [[Hailstorm (SG)|Hailstorm]] was killed and Flamewar was captured.

Flamewar was able to escape, and Slipstream arrived just in time to aid Flamewar in a confrontation against [[Wheeljack (SG)|Slicer]]. Ricochet and Jazz were overseeing the [[smelting pool]] when Optimus Prime and [[Rodimus (SG)|Rodimus]] brought [[Cliffjumper (G1)|Cliffjumper]] to [[Great Dome|their headquarters]] in [[Iacon (polity)|Iacon]]. He laughed with the other Autobots when the strangely-behaving Cliffjumper was blasted by Prime for objecting to the execution of [[Rumble (SG)|Rumble]] like a weak Decepticon. Later, during the Decepticon attack on the ''[[Ark (SG)|Ark]]'', he was felled by an unknown assailant. {{storylink|Shattered Glass (issue)|Shattered Glass}}

With Optimus Prime rebuilding the ''Ark'', the Decepticons decided to follow the [[Autobot]]s into space in [[Nemesis (SG)|their own spacecraft]]. Ricochet hatched a scheme to delay the Decepticons by capturing their leader. He thought that if [[Megatron (SG)|Megatron]] was absent, the Decepticons would never take off after the Autobots.

So Ricochet lured Megatron to the [[Temple of Knowledge]]. All the while making sarcastic remarks, Ricochet gained the upper hand with help from his Targetmaster partner [[Nightstick (SG)|Nightstick]]. Along with [[Scoop (SG)|Scoop]] and [[Holepunch (SG)|Holepunch]] and [[Crosshairs (SG)|Crosshairs]] and [[Pinpointer (SG)|Pinpointer]], Ricochet held Megatron hostage, demanding a ransom from the Decepticons.

The Decepticons, instead of delaying their flight, sent a group of [[Micromaster]]s to rescue Megatron. The gang of small Decepticons harried Ricochet's group.

Optimus Prime discovered Ricochet's plan and was outraged that his subordinate would take away from him the glory of capturing Megatron. Prime left the ''Ark''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s launch site to reprimand Ricochet.

The Micromasters had just disposed of Ricochet's group when Optimus Prime arrived at the hideout. Prime was none too happy with Ricochet's initiative, but chose to take credit for the scheme in front of Megatron. But before Prime could execute his Decepticon rival, the Micromasters busted in, distracting the Autobots long enough for Megatron to escape. Eventually, Megatron won the day, but both the Autobots' ship and the Decepticons' ship had launched without their respective leaders.

Once back at the ''Ark''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s launch site, Optimus ordered Scoop to take Ricochet and Crosshairs to the [[Agonizing Rehabilitation Chamber]]s. The sadistic smirk was finally wiped off Ricochet's face. {{storylink|Do Over}}

Gutcruncher was part of the Decepticon force battling the [[Autobot]]s for control of the newly rediscovered [[Arch-Ayr]] fuel dump. He was about to be attacked by [[Rodimus (SG)|Rodimus]] and [[Arcee (SG)|Arcee]] until [[Soundwave (SG)|Soundwave]] called in the [[Mayhem Suppression Squad]]. Though [[Dirge (SG)|Dirge]] was able to disable Rodimus, Arcee was still able to fire her bow at Gutcruncher. [[Thundercracker (SG)|Thundercracker]] was able to encase her in a bubble of silence, however. The inability to hear the voices in her head distracted her enough for Gutcruncher to knock her off her feet with his concussion blaster.

Later, after the [[Dinobot (SG)|Dinobot]]s' arrival, Gutcruncher was part of the discussion about possibly tracking down some of the Dinobots to reprogram them into troops. When [[Cliffjumper (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Cliffjumper]] said he wasn't sure of the idea, on account of his own universe's Dinobots being stupid, disloyal, and untrustworthy, Gutcruncher snidely asked if Cliffjumper was sure the Autobots were really the good guys in his universe.
