Minor clean-up request
"As Depth Charge attempted to shove an Energon spike into Rampage's spark, Rampage released Depth Charge's hands and laughed maniacally as he allowed his rival to destroy the both of them. His reasons for this are unknown. Some fans believe Rampage was using Depth Charge's own obsession with him to manipulate and corrupt him, with this scenario the ultimate test to see just how far the Maximal would go to claim "justice" over him."

This paragraph is a little awkward to read. It's been a long time since I've seen this episode, so I think I can approach this from the viewpoint of somebody using the article alone to imagine what went on. It seems as though Rampage was holding Depth Charge down when he stabbed Rampage with the spike. Presumably this would result in an explosion, especially given that this was a Big Dramatic End Of Series Death. However, Rampage releases Depth Charge. "His reasons for this are unknown" could refer to this release, but it could also refer to Rampage's maniacal laughter in the preceding sentence. It could ALSO refer to Depth Charge apparently staying present for the death (see it to the end; be sure Rampage died) rather than attempting to escape and survive.
:No, I'm afraid not. :( I've only *seen* random scans. I know mostly that the manga was a comedy-relief effort much like BWII (why the Japanese insisted on interjecting comedy into Beast Wars I haven't a fucking clue), filled with lots of bad and goofy character redesigns. Tigartron wore samurai garb, Rattrap was turned into Pikachu, Cheetor was...totally fucking wierd-looking, etc. This site is the best I can do for scans at the moment: http://www.dvandom.com/bb99.html I am forever monitoring eBay, waiting to pounce on the first Beast Wars manga that shows up (so far all I've ever seen are guide books). --DrSpengler 18:44, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
: I don't think the "Tranny" is a problem. Most of the captions on the site are smart-aliky (sp?) or sarcastic. The "Tranny" mearly pokes fun at the fact that Airazor was Female in all of Hasbro's BW material, but was male in the Japanese dub or BW, and female in Japan's Beast Wars Metals manga. That's one character being either male or female in Japan depending which of the offical media you looked at. Even when Hasbro changed the gender of a TF (C Override), the change was kept constant (no Hasbro material with Override as a male). --FortMax 19:17, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Conflict in story?
BW never says the protoforms are -infant- transformers, they're the -crew- in protoform form. If they're the crew they can't be newborns.
:Are you asking how Newborns could crew a ship? If so, the explanation comes from the preprogrammed life skills and common knowledge included in the Protoform's datatrax 85.195.119.14 05:22, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

::Well, there is one big conflict. In Airazor's introduction, it's very explictly stated that she's a NEW SPARK, without any history or past. Hence Rhinox's whole 'when a spark comes online...' poetry. It's fairly safe to assume that Airazor's basic skills, etc, were programmed along with the statis pod, as Tigatron's should have been, though he expounds on why it wasn't. Seriously, people, WATCH the show - I'm looking at YOU FP! - Vanguard
:::It's Rhinox who believes it's a new spark, and he wouldn't know one stasis pod from another. There's probably no way he'd know that this was previously a sparkless protoform with someone else's spark in it, versus a normal sparked protoform. It would, however, require that most of the crew be new sparks for him to make this assumption, which is something that HAS been fucked with terribly by both FP and IDW. --ItsWalky 00:09, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
:::: Well, it could be argued that we actually see the spark come online, though I don't think that's part of the episode that's supposed to be literal. I suppose we could, for continuity's sake with FP, say that Rhinox was in error - but I would rather say that Rhinox (who pulled some spark miracles out of his own arse more than once) was correct, and FP's interpretation is just one of those 'alternate universe' things. -- Vanguard

::::: I like to view FP as an alternate universe just as much as anyone, so I'm not going to argue for the sake of that. But Rhinox never says that Airazor's spark recently came online. His "when a spark comes online" poetry was just exposition for the audience to know what a spark is. He also followed up with "when one is extinguished..." and shows the spark extinguishing. Are we to assume that this means Airazor died? Of course not. No specific mention of Airazor is even made in that scene. He was just explaining to Cheetor about sparks.

::::: Which leads into my next point. Cheetor is clearly younger, less knowledgeable, and less experienced than Tigatron, Airazor, Silverbolt, and Blackarachnia. Clearly, this means: 1) experience is something that has to be acquired over time (or else they would have just downloaded it into Cheetor), and 2) the stasis pod crew have at least been active longer than Cheetor.

::::: Also, the only protoform that wasn't damaged (thus causing memory loss) was Inferno's, and he was batshit insane (likely due to his shell program being swapped out mid-DNA scan). Buddy 04:06, 3 June 2010 (EDT)

keys to the 'bot
I have been abyssally busy, and the linkfix 'bot has been broken since June. In theory I'm working on a ground-up re-code. In practice... the project is in someday-maybe territory. That's bad, our link-structure will start to get ragged.

I've rolled the Deceptitran link-fix 'bot back to May of this year and gotten it working again. But since I've been crazy-busy I'm also giving you a copy of the keys. Go to the movelog in RecentChanges and you should now see the Deceptitran links are live. (The 'bot itself is protected by a server-login you'll have to give the first time you queue a link up per session. I'm PMing you the password for THAT on the Allspark messageboard. You will remain logged into Deceptitran for several hours.)

* The interface is a bit clumsy-- but also self-explanatory.
* Enjoy seeing the SQL-echos! They make my life easier when debugging.
* Queued fixes changes are executed at a rate of 1-per-minute 24/7.
* You can go into a job and remove specific pages by hand if necessary, or force them to edit-right-now with "do one edit"
* There is no 'pause' and no order; a linkfix is executed at random from the hundreds (or thousands) pending.
* If a link is in a template (like a franchise navigation) it will try to edit all the pages that include that template. (Null-edits,) That's wasteful... but who cares? Deceptitran can make 43,000 edits per month... wasting its time doesn't hurt anybody. (The template itself is also on the list of pages to fix that link on, so it'll get it eventually.)
* It does catch storylinks. It does not catch previous/next links in templates. (something to fix for the recode.)
* It will simply fail to fix some links. It always has. If it's IMPORTANT, double-check.
* If there are no pages-that-link-to-this, Deceptitran just sits there and gives you a blank page.
* You cannot queue up the same job (fix) twice without deleting the old one.
* Completed jobs must be removed by hand.

(You'll figure out the workflow-- tabs are your friend.)
I think that's all. I used to just go into the movelog and queue up recent page-moves twice a week... it shouldn't take more than about 3 minutes. (I picked you because you don't go around rearranging deckchairs.) If you think someone else should have access... let me know.

Statistically, making arrangements like this probably means I'm going to suddenly find myself back on tfwiki more, rendering all this unnecessary.
(The idea is to move styles that are semi-finalized off of my server's temp file so that if my server goes down the CSS is at least loading off of TFWiki.

For problems, questions, or passive-aggressive statements... you can usually find me online @ my IM account, which is listed on my userpage. -Derik 07:02, 21 November 2009 (EST)
Hello, and goals
I wanted to see about setting goals, rrather than randomly editing articles. I put them on my user page. Can I get feedback on them? Primal Rage 12:27, 23 November 2009 (EST)
Admin request
Hey, yellow-kid type!

Could you (or another admin, but it looks like you're around...) possibly add the following line to the very beginning of MediaWiki:Common.css? (So it's BEFORE the previous import?)
@import "/w2/index.php?title=User:Derik/Common_tmp.css&action=raw&ctype=text/css";
As a user CSS page, only I (or possibly an admin?) can edit it, so it's safe from most vandalism.

(The idea is to move styles that are semi-finalized off of my server's temp file so that if my server goes down the CSS is at least loading off of TFWiki. The link to my server's temp file remains for rapid-development purposes though.) -Derik 13:50, 29 December 2009 (EST)
