When he's not shooting through Decepticon body armor with his ion blaster or slicing off heads with his battle blades, Optimus Prime will use his barrage cannon against his opponents. With a range of up to sixty miles, the laser sighted barrage cannon fires plutonium tipped warheads at a rate of 6 warheads per second, with each warhead carrying the equivalent of 3,000 lbs of TNT.
* At the firing rate of 6 shots per second, range of 60 miles and 1.36 tons of TNT per shell, Prime doesn't need any other weapons.
The mysteriously undestroyed Straxus has arrived back at the Autobot base—only to come under fire! The Decepticons have taken over, and the Autobots are outgunned, forcing Optimus to declare a retreat to Washington, D.C.—which means leaving a brainwashed Mikaela Banes in Starscream's hands...

The Autobots land at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, to face a chilly welcome and a request by President Allen to meet Optimus Prime...alone. He heads out, escorted to the rendezvous point by the incredibly bald General Seward, unknowingly trailed by Jazz. When the rendezvous turns out to be a derelict building, both Optimus and Seward realise something's wrong (making Seward much smarter than the competition), but too late to escape before Jazz makes his attack!

Optimus comes under fire, clearly the target of his old, corrupted comrade, who's quite happy to boast about being a gun-for-hire. Optimus can only lament Jazz as a lost cause and flee to draw him away from the humans. Jazz merrily chases after while Optimus finds all frequencies are jammed and he's on his own. He decides to make a stand (here, now)...

...when another enemy attacks, a flying killer robot named Kullt! Jazz is outraged at the realisation his employer hired two mercenaries, not trusting him to kill his old commander, and so blows Kullt to pieces. Optimus gets up and, in Jazz's gunsights, tells him he's not a lost cause after all: He could have let Prime die and then killed Kullt. Jazz is rattled by this and, noticing Seward leading reinforcements, decides to leave, declaring Prime's wrong.

Later on, President Allen denies arranging a meeting with Optimus, and Seward believes they were all set up. Neither Optimus or Ironhide do, though, realising the Decepticons may be controlling the President!
Star Screams
On a 6-year-old Decepticon cosplayer: "Just the sort of reinforcements I need.... It is moments like these when I briefly forget about paving over this planet (after napalming it, naturally)."
"Seven Starscreams?! I'm glad you are just talking about toys—I'm not sure there is a universe big enough to contain that much ambition—we'd be looking not so much at sibling rivalry as sibling genocide. Still, I'm glad to hear you are worshipping idols cast in my image."

Fan: "When you come to England, can I join you?"<br>
"Of course you may join me. I'll need some human lackeys to polish my paintwork after I have achieved domination of the United Kingdom. I understand the throne of your queen is quite comfortable."

"It would seem your optics units are malfunctioning, Andrew. I suggest you replace them with cybernetic phase-lens infra-optronics. Or just buy some glasses. Now watch the film again and pay attention this time!"

Items of note
* The cover preview in #20 showed a more sickly neon acid, was a larger image (Jazz appears to have been given more focus), had a different logo and ad for the Sticker Set!!... and also had G1 Jazz in the corner box.
* The plot of the Earth being destroyed is not touched on, except in the recap which informs us "using Nucleon saved Earth". Would've been nice to see this resolution of a plot arc that's been going on since #14, guys...
* Andrews Air Force Base is a real location eight miles east of Washington, D.C. . Shockingly for this run, Furman didn't dig up a lesser-known one nobody's heard of.
* Jazz is almost certainly working for Starscream, though he never states it. He's fully embraced his corruption, begun in Dark Spark.
* Kullt appears to be a Decepticon, but this is never stated. He's a boring git, too.
* The United States Military is on view again, as opposed to NATO.
* "Autobot Jazz" is almost certainly a reference to the official name of the toy.
* Arcee's profile refers to a Movie-verse Kup.
* There's a new, "glowing" logo on this issue rather than the usual metal design.
* Starscream tells a five-year-old he has no use for such a young minion, as he'd have nothing of value. He's still more polite than that other Starscream though..
*Continuity: Revenge of the Fallen (prequel)

The sinister figure of Ravage emerges from the waters around Scotland's Orkney Islands, a NEST forward operating location. Undetected, the beast is directed by Soundwave to locate Skids and Mudflap: Soundwave wants to know how much they know about the Fallen's plans and who they've told it to, and then he wants them dead!

In NEST's base, the twins are being bored to death by constant training exercises against drone units ("sim-com"). While they've been told by Ironhide that this is a trust-building exercise and meant to put them through their paces, they've got the sneaking suspicion that's just a story to keep them out of everyone else's way. They're not pleased when their instructor Sideswipe tells them there's still room for improvement and they've got to do it again, but when they protest they're not trainees he just bluntly reminds them they caused a Decepticon to escape. Having shut them up with that, Sideswipe tells them he thinks Ironhide should have charged them; instead, he gave them to him for training, and unless they want to get banged up they do what he says.

Sideswipe goes off to start the sim-com again, moaning about being stuck doing this work and deciding to put the drones on maximum setting... but Ravage has infiltrated the base and quickly takes him down! When the twins decide to investigate, wondering what all the noise is, they come under attack by the metal mogggy and quite sensibly run away. Ravage pursues, being led into an ambush where Skids brings the roof down on him... but the creature emerges unscathed! Pursued again, Mudflap suddenly hits on an idea...

Mudflap leads Ravage into the training room, where a broadcasted Soundwave demands he explains everything he knows in exchange for a quick death. Having none of this, the guy just has Skids trigger the trap: locking the door and starting up the combat simulation again! While Mudflap is honed to perfection and easily avoids the drones (not to mention having the proper limbs to use the ropes and trapeze), the surprised Ravage is quickly hemmed in and gunned down, howling in pain.

Victory to the Autobots! Except no, because Ravage merely faked unconsciousness until the twins left and then did a runner. Now there's no evidence to back up their claim to the recovered Sideswipe that mysterious, unknown Decepticons broke into a NEST base just to get to them. He believes they just got fed up of sim-com and decided to belt him one, and this is their cover story. As far as he's concerned, this and the Grindor business is evidence that there's something dodgy about them.

And Soundwave, listening in through a hidden bug, finds this turn of events quite interesting...

Quotes
"Look, Sideswipe—we could do this in our sleep!"<br>
"In fact, I think I just did!"
:—Skids and Mudflap

"You mean like the one [Decepticon] you allowed to escape? No, no... My mistake. The one you helped escape."
:—Sideswipe

"I fear our trademark snappy patter is wasted on our four-legged friend."<br>
:—Mudflap

"...you're telling me, some hitherto unknown Decepticon intruder, on the orders of some other Decepticon, also unknown, sidestepped the most sophisticated security grid on the planet... just to get at you two?"
:—Sideswipe

Errors
* A hitherto unknown Decepticon did try to kill them when they arrived on Earth and someone is clearly ordering about the Earthen Decepticons, so why's Sideswipe so incredulous?

Notes
* It initially seemed like the twins were still refusing to talk to anyone who isn't Optimus, which made little sense after they Learned A Lesson last issue. Issue five, however, indicated they had tried to pass the intel on: it's just nobody's listening because nobody trusts them and thinks the information is legit.
* Another NEST base outside of Diego Garcia is introduced, and the first not to be a US base.
Starscream's Stars
"GEMINI (21 May — 21 Jun): The apocalypse is upon us! Unicron has returned and will eat every planet in his path! We're doomed! DOOOOOOMED! Oh wait... I forgot to move the decimal point. It's all fine. All your dreams are about to come true. Apparently." <br>

"CANCER (22 Jun — 22 July): Spend time with your real friends. Oh wait. You don't have any! HAHAHAHAHA!!!" <br>

"SAGITTARIUS (22 Nov — 21 Dec): Behind every successful Transformer is Starscream. In the shadows. With a photon cannon." <br>

"CAPRICORN (22 Dec — 19 Jan): You never believed in horoscopes and now you missed out on the chance for true love, getting that condo in Tyger Pax and becoming god emperor of the known universe. Serves you right." <br>

Errors
* Where to begin with Quarter Past Megatron:
** It uses the cover date for the first Marvel comic rather than the actual release, giving the impression the cartoon came first. It also gets the launch date for the Beast Wars toyline and cartoon wrong.
** The 80s cartoon is said to have opened with a five part story instead of three part.
** It omits to mention the European G1 toys of the early 90s, which you'd think would be considered important by a European audience.
** The Dreamwave and IDW comics are down as "2002–2005", which gives the impression they stopped then.
** Those comics are the only thing mentioned as happening after Beast Wars and before the first film; eight years of franchises and fictions are ignored. (Ignoring Energon may not be a bad thing though)

* The DIY card is on the opposite page of Quarter Past, so you have to sacrifice half of that feature to make the card.

* Law and Disorder promises you can win Starscream's Star Letter prize, even though he's not the host anymore.

Notes
* The cover shown in #3's Next Issue is entirely absent. Worse, the new cover works more for last issue's story!

* Titan is celebrating the UK's 25th Anniversary of Transformers, as it debuted here later than in the States.

* The All Hail reprints are now getting their own titles instead of just "Part X".

* Ironhide is a big fan of the game's multiplayer function, and wants you all to try it out!

* The title is no longer registered with ABC, who compile circulation data, and so no longer shows sales figures. Whether this is because it's in Vol.2 now or if there's another reason is not known.

Mars is the fourth planet from the sun located within Earth's solar system.

Mars is almost always a trap, statistically.

Fiction
Generation 1 cartoon continuity
The Transformers cartoon
The Earth Defense Command has a base operating on Mars. EDC Commander Marissa Faireborn received Blaster's request for assistance to the beleaguered Blurr and Wheelie on Io and lifted off in her spaceship. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 3

The Headmasters cartoon
Having harnessed the plasma energy released when the Transformers' homeworld of Cybertron was destroyed, Decepticon Headmaster leader Scorponok sought to generate and collect more of the energy to fuel his ambitions. To accomplish this, Scorponok plotted the destruction of Mars, and ordered the Terrorcons to plant plasma energy bombs beneath the surface of the planet Mars at strategic points which would, when detonated, rip the planet apart.

The Decepticons' activities were discovered by Spike, Daniel, Wheelie and the Trainbots, who were on Mars conducting a geological survey at the time. The Autobot Headmasters were called in to deal with the threat, but during the battle that ensued, Fortress Maximus was de-powered by a plasma energy blast. Explosion on Mars!! Maximus Is in Danger

Scorponok took the opportunity to activate his newly constructed Transtector and travel to Mars where he pummeled Maximus before ordering the planet's destruction. Two clusters of bombs placed at the Martian planetary poles were detonated simultaneously by Soundblaster, beginning a chain reaction that started to tear Mars apart. Scorponok and the Decepticons evacuated while the Autobots were consumed by the inferno, but Fortress Maximus was able to absorb some of the energy released in the early stages of the conflagration and made his escape as Mars exploded. Explosion on Mars!! MegaZarak Appears

Incredibly, the destruction of Mars had a minimal impact on the various planetary orbits throughout the Sol system, and the fate of its moon was not divulged, but its absence did disrupt the gravimetric balance of space bridge travel, destabilizing it.

Victory cartoon
Ore acquired from Mars, coupled with ores from Earth and other planets, was used in the creation of Schaeffer Energy. Jean Minakaze happened to be visiting the Schaeffer Energy plant in America as a cargo ship carrying a payload of Martian ore returned from its space mission. Battle Up of Wrath!!

Unicron Trilogy continuity
Armada cartoon
Jetfire and Starscream once travelled to Mars in search of the Mini-Con panel containing Firebot. Upon hearing this, the kids asked the two Transformers to buy them something from the souvenir shop. Sadly, as Mars was uninhabited by either human or alien lifeforms, there were no shops to be found. Starscream did however find a mysterious glowing green rock and gave it to the children. They were so happy. Mars (episode)

Joke's on them—it's probably radioactive.

Energon cartoon
Ten years after the defeat of Unicron, the Cybertronian Alliance and the Earth Federation installed a facility on the surface of Mars to mine the potent naturally-occurring ore Energon. Unfortunately, this facility was decimated by the initial Terrorcon attack, leading Carlos to aptly remark "Holy frijoles". Cybertron City (episode)

Also Tidal Wave was stationed on Mars by the Autobots during the Cybertronian Alliance, to guard the Mini-Cons who were sent there.

A little while later, the survivors of the first attack, Autobot, Decepticon and Mini-Con, made a valiant last stand against a second Terrorcon attack, this time being personally led by Scorponok. Scorpinok

Cybertron cartoon
Thunderblast, Ransack, Crumplezone and Thundercracker left Earth on a rickety rocket, attempting to forge the New Decepticon Army. Their rocket made it as far as Mars before crashing and stranding them on the planet.
As Optimus Prime calls in reinforcements, the Decepticons heat things up in the Eastern Europe.

Synopsis
In the former Soviet breakaway state of Brasnya, rebel leader Georgi Koska assures his subordinate Alexi that they will be taking action against the Russians soon. Koska drives off alone to rendezvous with his real master, Megatron. The Decepticon leader transforms and, with the help of Ore-13, reveals his new alt-mode of a human-sized handgun. In Koska's hands, Megatron orders his facsimile construct to fire at the Russians' primary oil pipeline, therefore agitating Brasnya's political enemies. Megatron then orders Skywarp to take off and Blitzwing to engage his chameleon mesh, which renders him invisible. The trap is baited and set.

On the Ark-19, Optimus Prime lets his troops know that he's calling in reinforcements. The situation on Earth has escalated to a point that requires more force. Prowl disagrees, but Prime overrules him. At this point, Ironhide breaks the chain of command and asks Prime if he can search for Sunstreaker, who is still missing. The Autobot leader says no without giving an explanation and walks off. Prowl orders everyone else to their duties, and then gets into Ironhide's face for going over his head, again.

In Brasnya, Koska's rebel forces attack a Russian convoy, further escalating the tensions between nations, which is exactly what Megatron wants.

Back at Autobot HQ, Ratchet walks in on Verity and Jimmy looking over the faked remains of Sunstreaker. Jimmy uses his mechanic's expertise to find a possible clue to the people behind the kidnapping. He suggests that they investigate further for clues in cyberspace, but Ratchet isn't sure. He mulls over bringing this evidence to Prowl, but decides to do the work himself with the humans since Prowl will likely ignore him. However, someone is eavesdropping on this conversation.

Russians roll into Brasnya where Koska's forces and the Decepticons are waiting. The previous battle between the humans catches the attention of the Autobots, mainly due to the power of Megatron's blasts. Prowl pinpoints Megatron's location in the hands of Koska, and Prime comments on the rarity and energy requirement needed for this method of mass displacement, hinting that he's using Ore-13. He and Prowl agree on their next course of action: head to Brasnya to confront the Decepticons.

A convoy of Brasnyan tanks arrive in the area and the soldiers hold positions. They do not expect a battle and hope that the politicians will settle the conflict. However, Megatron has other plans. Blitzwing attacks this convoy and the Brasnyan commander interprets it as a Russian attack. The fight between the humans has begun.

Prime, Prowl, Jazz, Wheeljack and Prime's trailer arrive in Brasnya via orbital bounce. Their plan is for Prime to draw Megatron out while the others capture Koska, the Decepticon facsimile. Blitzwing sights Prime driving through the countryside and alerts Megatron, who calls in Skywarp and Astrotrain to assist.

In Earth orbit aboard Ark-32, Nightbeat, Hardhead and Hot Rod await orders.

Ratchet, Jimmy and Verity are searching auto supply records and find the lead they need to search for Sunstreaker and Hunter. But Ironhide steps out from the shadows and says they can't go anywhere... without him.
As if searching for Starscream and decoding a mysterious message from Cybertron wasn't trouble enough for the Autobots, Megatron and the Decepticons are free and back on Earth!

Synopsis
Out in space, riding atop an asteroid, Crumplezone leads Scourge to the sphere holding Megatron and the other Decepticons prisoner. Scourge's flame breath and axe fail to even make a dent in the globe, but Megatron knows that it is only a matter of time until he is free.

On Earth, the Autobots are confronted by Colonel Franklin, who tells them his story. As a child, he fell into the Green River Rapids, and was rescued by a shadowy figure that changed shape into a helicopter. Nobody ever believed his story, but he knew what he had seen was real, and dedicated himself to finding other such stories. As he grew older, he joined the military to further his search for the truth, and now, it's standing right in front of him. It even turns out that his rescuer was Evac! Now that everyone at last realizes that Colonel Franklin is on the side of the angels, he offers up all his military resources to help the Autobots find Starscream and the stolen Omega Lock and Cyber Planet Keys.

In the seas of the South Pacific, one of the Ancient Decepticons awakened by Starscream, the wily Thunderblast, is out looking for some fun, and scans a human speedboat for an alternate mode. As she is enjoying the sun and surf, Jetfire appears in the sky overhead. They fight briefly, before Thunderblast suddenly vanishes into thin air. Jetfire transmits the info to the Autobot base, where Scattorshot deduces that Thunderblast has disappeared into a Camouflage Shield that is hiding something in the middle of the ocean. That something, as we soon learn, is a volcanic island that Starscream is using as a staging base, to which Thunderblast returns, arriving just in time to witness Starscream adding the Earth's Cyber Planet Key to the Omega Lock. As in the past, the addition of the key causes the lock to open a space bridge, launching a beam of energy into space, and into the heart of the black hole. Across the galaxy, on Velocitron, on Jungle Planet and on Earth, a space bridge portal hangs in the sky, displaying the terrifying image of the black hole to all onlookers. Concerns over the secrecy of the Autobots' mission have to be put on the back burner, however, when a strange energy burst is detected by the Autobots' computers. Despite fears that it has come from the black hole or the space bridge, it turns out that it is a encrypted signal sent back from Cybertron itself, a response to the original signal the Omega Lock sent out in the past.

In space, Scourge and Megatron combine their power, striking the sphere from within and without simultaneously. The tactic succeeds in shattering the sphere, freeing the Decepticons within, and Megatron immediately plans to head for Earth and revenge himself upon Starscream. Scourge requests that he be allowed to join Megatron, as he hungers to visit new worlds and experience new challenges. Megatron permits it, and the group leaves through a dimension gate.

Back on Earth, while Jolt randomly reveals he's not from Cybertron after all, Red Alert and Vector Prime have decrypted all they can of the signal from Cybertron, which seems to be telling the Autobots to bring the Omega Lock and Cyber Planet Keys back to the planet. Of course, they have to get them back from Starscream, first...but before they can start making plans to do so, Megatron's dimension gate appears in the sky above Niagara Falls. Acting quickly, Prime's team calls upon the help of several refugee Autobots to evacuate the humans out of the surrounding area with warnings of a tornado, after which Scattorshot surrounds it with a camouflage shield to hide what is about to transpire. The Autobots roll out for Niagara Falls and meet Megatron's forces there, but when both sides admit that there are more pressing concerns at hand, the Decepticons attempt to depart. As letting them go is not an option, Optimus Prime opens fire on their dimension gate, collapsing it, and starting off a major battle. As Override and Crosswise deal with Crumplezone and Ransack, and Leobreaker and Snarl clash with Scourge, Landmine is confronted by Mudflap and almost paralyzed with shock. Vector Prime comes to his aid, and Landmine reveals that he practically raised Mudflap back on Cybertron.

Megatron and Prime go head-to-head, meanwhile, but their battle is interrupted by Red Alert, Scattorshot and Hot Shot, who entreat their leader to help Leobreaker and Snarl, who have been trapped by Scourge's flame, while they hold off Megatron. Prime does so, and the three Autobot troops give a surprisingly good account of themselves against the much more powerful Decepticon leader. As his rage at being thwarted by weaker warriors boils over, Megatron taps into the power of the Omega Lock and Earth's Cyber Planet Key. The Lock fires a beam of energy around the planet, which strikes Megatron and unlocks in him a new Cyber Key Power: a powerful machine gun that he uses to mow down Hot Shot, Red Alert and Scattorshot in one deadly volley. Optimus Prime turns in time to see his warriors fall, and charges at Megatron with a howl of fury...

Notes
Differences with Galaxy Force
*As ever, Cybertron adds the customary reference to the Omega Frequency when the Omega Lock is fired up.
*Galaxy Force sees Bud see a lot of rather uncharacteristic scientific observations, as he tells Lori that a normal black hole could never expand, and that it wouldn't return anything sent into it. Cybertron just replaces it with him making jokes (mostly about brownies). In large part, this change is also necessitated by the fact that in Galaxy Force, it's a lead-in to the shocking discovery that Cybertron is still intact within the black hole. Since Cybertron changed things so that the planet was never consumed in the first place, this lead-in is entirely unnecessary, and excised.
*When the battle starts, Crumplezone and Ransack transform and...just drive off. Galaxy Force gives no reason for this odd "tactic", least of all why Override should bother following a fleeing enemy, so Cybertron adds the explanation that they are attempting to exit the camouflage shield.
*In Cybertron, Mudflap is much more apologetic to Landmine, and would rather not fight him if he could avoid it. In Galaxy Force, he's terribly righteous. Jerk.

Animation and/or technical glitches
*When the Autobots confront Megatron, a dubbing error sees Optimus Prime deliver a prolonged speech while Vector Prime's mouth is moving, carrying on directly into when his own mouth starts moving.

Continuity errors
*The sphere containing Megatron and the Decepticons has changed from an opaque metallic globe to a translucent purple shimmering one.
*Vector Prime claims that a signal was sent into space "each time" a Cyber Planet Key was placed into the Omega Lock, when it only happened with the Velocitron Key. The error is not present in Galaxy Force, where Vector Prime only mentions the Velocitron Key incident.

Transformers references
* When faced with Leobreaker and Snarl, Scourge transforms to beast mode himself, with the promise of giving them a "Beast War".
* A black tanker truck resembling Robots in Disguise Scourge can be seen in the traffic jam created by the Autobot refugees after Scattorshot tries to stop Megatron's warp gate.

Real-world references
* In response to the sight of Scourge unleashing his fire breath, Crumplezone gasps "Woah, flame on!", quoting the catchphrase of superhero the Human Torch, a member of the Fantastic Four.

Trivia
* "Revelation" was the last episode of the series to premiere on Kids' WB, and the final new episode to air in 2005. When the series returned in 2006, it was back on Cartoon Network.
* Scourge is not voiced by Trevor Devall in this episode, but the identity of the stand-in actor is unknown.
* As in "Retreat", actress Chiara Zanni stands in for Sarah Edmondson as Lori for ths episode. She will do so once more, in "Inferno".
*Cybertron has Thunderblast intimate that Crosswise only sealed her away thirty years ago. While not impossible, that just doesn't seem long enough ago, really, does it?
*When the Decepticons arrive on Earth, Crumplezone gets the planet's name wrong, calling it "Dirt". The same joke would later be made in the Revenge of the Fallen movie by Jetfire.
The quest for the Omega Lock forces Vector Prime to take the greatest of risks!

Synopsis
Optimus Prime, Landmine and Overhaul return from their most recent excursion to the Autobot base, where Jetfire and Scattorshot inform them that Coby, Bud and Lori have left with Vector Prime and the Recon Mini-Con Team, ostensibly to search for the Omega Lock. This so-called "search" has led them to a tropical island, where Bud and Coby frolic in the surf and Lori relaxes in the shade (not being a fan of the whole "nature" thing), while Vector Prime and Safeguard actually do all the work. Safeguard scans an Atlantis Pattern on some ruins just off the island shore, but it turns out to be another dead end. As the kids discuss how the Atlantis Pattern has pervaded popular culture, leading to copies all over the world, they ask Vector Prime to tell them more about the Omega Lock and Cyber Planet Keys, and he treats them to a holographic history lesson. After a brief interruption by a passing shepherd and his flock, Vector Prime continues to explain that the Omega Lock contains a map to the location of the four colony worlds where the Keys are located. Vector Prime grows frustrated as he recalls Megatron's theft of his map, perpetually putting the Decepticons one step ahead.

And speak of the devil...Megatron has successfully divined the location of the second planet to hold a Cyber Planet Key. While he studies this "Jungle Planet" from afar, Starscream and Thundercracker search for more leads in west Africa, but find only a blue crate.

Meanwhile, on Velocitron, Brakedown and Clocker help tune up Hot Shot in preparation for the race for the Planet Cup. Red Alet once again accuses Hot Shot of racing for his own ego, leading to a big argument between the two that almost degenerates into a fistfight until Brakedown breaks it up and kicks Red Alert out of the workshop.

Back on the island, the kids start grilling Vector Prime on his powers over space and time. As Vector Prime tells them that his abilities are not what they once were, Safeguard emerges from the sea and reports that unfortunately, the island is definitely a dead end. Bud searches up some more information on Atlantis on his laptop, and the group heads for the location of another pattern in the Sahara desert. Jolt puts in a call to Autobot headquarters for a little assist, and Jetfire and Optimus Prime roll out to join them.

On Velocitron, the tuned-up Hot Shot hits the road for a test drive, but when he activates his Cyber Key, he once again skids out of control and almost crashes through the guard wall. Acting quickly, Clocker transforms to robot mode and blasts a hole the wall, allowing Hot Shot to careen safely through the gap. Brakedown deduces that they have made Hot Shot too light, and Hot Shot hopes they can fix it, as he is willing to do anything to defeat Override and save the universe.

In the Sahara, Optimus and Jetfire arrive as Vector Prime is using his jets to blow away sand and excavate some ruins. Jetfire uses his Turbine Wave to finish the job quickly, revealing the remains of some grand amphitheatre...and what appears to be the Omega Lock itself! Just as the two Primes begin to lift it, however, Starscream and Thundercracker arrive, having following the kids from the island, and a battle erupts. Megatron himself soon arrives to join the fight, and with the added power of their leader, the Decepticons are able to overpower the Autobots, even Super Mode Optimus Prime. The Mini-Cons urge the kids to get to safety, leaving them to defend the Omega Lock alone, and the children regretfully comply. Megatron is highly amused and charges his body with flaming energy before hurling himself at the Mini-Cons. Vector Prime is unable to stop Megatron's meteoric descent, and the Decepticon leader impacts violently, causing a huge explosion that destroys the Mini-Cons.

The horrified Vector Prime blames himself for leaving the Mini-Cons to protect the Lock alone, and he calls upon his long-neglected powers to rewind time to before the Mini-Cons' destruction. All the combatants realise that time has slid backward, and this time, the Mini-Cons and kids get to safety together. Unfortunately, this means that while the Autobots are occupied tending to the exhausted Vector Prime, who collapses after exerting himself to such an extent, Megatron and Starscream are able to seize the Omega Lock and prepare to take it through a portal to the Jungle Planet. When Optimus Prime takes off after them, Thundercracker tries to shoot the Autobot leader from behind...but at the last second, Prime swerves out of the way of Thundercracker's blast, which hits the Omega Lock and reduces it to so many fragments. Megatron is calm in defeat, however: Thundercracker has inadvertently discovered that this "Omega Lock" was actually an imitation, as the genuine article could never have been destroyed with such ease. Megatron and Starscream pull out for Jungle Planet, while Thundercracker escapes over the horizon, leaving the Autobots to pick up the pieces of their defeat.

A little later, as the sun begins to set, Vector Prime awakens to the concerned faces of the Autobots looking down at him. Despite all this concern from his comrades, Vector Prime is not happy, lamenting his initial failure to protect the Mini-Cons, his dangerous use of his own power, and the fact that Megatron has discovered the location of the second planet. But the kids find the silver lining: With both Megatron and Starscream busy on Jungle Planet, the Autobots can search Earth and find the Omega Lock first.

Notes
Differences with Galaxy Force
*Cybertron inserts a few beats of new music into the opening seconds of the episode, which were otherwise entirely silent in Galaxy Force.
*In Galaxy Force, Vector Prime explicitly notes that his powers over time have weakened due to the black hole's effect upon the fabric of reality. A limitation is also imposed that Cybertron leaves out: He can only rewind time by exactly one minute, lest the distortion of which he speaks come to pass.
*In Cybertron, Jolt jokes that he is able to stop time, while in Galaxy Force, he is claiming that stopping time is an ability Vector Prime still has.
*Cybertron notes that Starscream and Thundercracker follow Vector Prime and company to the Sahara after hacking into Bud's laptop and discovering their intended destination. In Galaxy Force, it's apparently just coincidence.

Animation and/or technical glitches
*In the opening scene of the episode, as Scattorshot and Landmine speak to each other, they are both missing most, if not all, of their shading and texture effects. It's like an Energon flashback!
*When Starscream lands in the forest, he is crazy out of scale with his surroundings. The trees only come up to his ankles!
*When Safeguard emerges from the water, Vector Prime greets him unusually: "Still nothing...thank you thank you, Safeguard." While the line does match the lip-flap animation, it sounds very much like two different recordings spliced together.
*As Clocker leaps down to join Hot Shot after the latter skids off the track, he shouts "Clocker, transform!" ...except he had already transformed about twenty seconds beforehand.
*Optimus Prime's mouth doesn't move when he says "Laugh at this!" (because he doesn't speak in Galaxy Force).
*The blast Optimus fires at Megatron is a huge blue beam as it departs his cannon, but when the angle changes to Megatron swatting it away, it's thin and red.

Continuity errors
*What in the blue fudge is the deal with the crate Starscream and Thundercracker find? They track a signal to Africa, and...it's a crate. Why? There's no explanation in either version of the show.

Transformers references
* Hot Shot's accident, which almost repeats itself this episode, occurred in "Speed".

Real-world references
* "All in all, it's just a brick in the wall!" Clocker cries as he shoots out the guard wall, paraphrasing the lyrics of Pink Floyd's The Wall.
