{{disambig3|Blitzwing}}
:''Blitzwing is a [[Decepticon]] [[Triple Changer]] from the [[Generation 1 continuity family|Generation 1]] [[continuity family]].''
[[File:Blitzwingg1.jpg|upright=1.95|thumb|"Blitzwing has no feet. Blitzwing needs no feet!"]]
The other Decepticons don't care much for '''Blitzwing'''. Oh, they can respect that he's an absolute terror on the battlefield, using his triple-changing ability to maximum effect. Few things are more destructive and demoralizing to an enemy force than a ''tank'' landing on your front line at Mach 2. Blitzwing changes forms rapidly in battle to keep his opponents off-balance at all times. And through it all, he's laughing like a madman, because frag it, it's just ''funny'' to him.

What makes him such a pain to his teammates is that Blitzwing's sense of humor rivals even [[Skywarp (G1)|Skywarp]]'s for brainless thuggery. He's an unlikable, blustering, loudmouthed jerk to everyone. The Decepticons as a group may be an unpleasant bunch, but Blitzwing takes the cake, platter, tablecloth, and has ground the table underfoot.

Recently, though, components of Blitzwing's abrasive personality seem to be splitting and amplifying; sometimes his cold-sparked strategic side is forefront, other times he remains consumed with raging bloodlust, and others, he's just plain I-think-I'm-hilarious bat-scrap loco. You never know which of the three you're going to have to deal with at any given moment, as he will even change in mid-sentence... but all three outcomes are going to be unpleasant in some way. Thankfully for [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]], the Decepticon Beserker is easy to manipulate, given Blitzwing's unstable mind.

{{bigquote|Tell me what's on your mind, or I'll splatter it on the wall and see for myself!|Blitzwing|"[[Triple Takeover]]"}}
Blitzwing appeared out of nowhere to join [[Megatron (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Megatron]]'s forces on [[Earth]] in 1985, and was first seen on a mission to steal [[energon]] from [[Dinobot Island (G1)|Dinobot Island]]. {{storylink|Dinobot Island, Part 1}} The [[Autobot]]s eventually arrived to halt their scheme, and Blitzwing got into a tank duel with [[Warpath (G1)|Warpath]]. {{storylink|Dinobot Island, Part 2}}

Later adventures of Blitzwing included joining Megatron and [[Shawn Berger]] in an attempt to exile the Autobots from Earth via bad publicity (it failed). {{storylink|Megatron's Master Plan, Part 2}} After that, he was seen suffering from [[cybertonium]] depletion just like everybody else, {{storylink|Desertion of the Dinobots, Part 1}} then fighting Warpath again and coating himself in [[electrum]]. {{storylink|The Golden Lagoon (episode)|The Golden Lagoon}}

Blitzwing and a team of other Decepticons came searching for the [[robotic insecticide]] the Autobots had come up with, but when they came to the valley, they found it full of [[Morphobot]]s. After the Autobots arrived to pick up [[Cosmos (G1)|Cosmos]], Megatron ordered [[Dirge (G1)|Dirge]], [[Ramjet (G1)|Ramjet]], and Blitzwing to attack. However, the Morphobots ended up incapacitating the Decepticons and slammed them on the ground. {{storylink|Quest for Survival}}

For someone as powerful as he is, Blitzwing did not have the best track record when it comes to decision-making. First, he and fellow [[Triple Changer]] [[Astrotrain (G1)|Astrotrain]] decided to do away with both Megatron and [[Starscream (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Starscream]] and strike out on their own in search of fame, fortune, and energon. While this would normally be considered suicidal, the two Triple Changers somehow pulled it off and were free to finally do whatever it took to wipe out those pesky Autobots once and for all.

[[File:TripleTakeover Blitzwing coach.jpg|upright=1.1|thumb|IMMA EAT CHOO!]]
The way they chose to do this, however, did not do much to inspire confidence in their abilities. While his partner went off to play with some trains, Blitzwing's personal strategy for victory was to kidnap a [[football coach]] under the mistaken impression that the human was some kind of master strategist. Blitzwing brought the [[Constructicon (G1)|Constructicons]] in on his plan, and used them to build a maze surrounding the entry to his base/stadium. To Blitzwing's credit, a lot of the Autobots crashed into each other (and required more extensive repairs once he got to them), but soon, the Constructicons demanded a share of the leadership, and then Astrotrain arrived. All three were beaten so quickly by Megatron that it was almost embarrassing, and Blitzwing crept carefully back to the [[Decepticon]] ranks, hoping that nobody would remember what had happened. {{storylink|Triple Takeover}}

Not long afterwards, Megatron was impressed by [[Chumley|Lord Chumley]]'s Autobot-capturing skills, and sent Blitzwing and Astrotrain to negotiate a deal with the human. Shortly after arriving at Chumley's castle, Blitzwing got himself caught in a trap meant for [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Optimus Prime]], and Chumley [[Chumley's arachnoid drones|captured]] both Triple Changers for getting in the way of his Autobot hunting. After all of his traps failed, Chumley released Blitzwing and Astrotrain as a last ditch attempt to capture Prime, but they just tried to stomp him to death before flying back home. {{storylink|Prime Target (episode)|Prime Target}}

A [[Size changing|strangely-enormous Blitzwing]] served as transport when the [[Stunticon (G1)|Stunticons]] captured Perceptor, who had created [[Corrostop|the cure]] for [[Cosmic Rust (disease)|a disease Megatron had picked up]]. Although Blitzwing was stalked by the [[Aerialbot (G1)|Aerialbots]], a [[Lightning Bug]] attack from Dirge and Ramjet stalled them so Blitzwing could safely make it back to Decepticon headquarters. {{storylink|Cosmic Rust (episode)|Cosmic Rust}}

[[File:TFTM KupBlitzwing.jpg|left|upright=1.1|thumb|Viagra.]]
Blitzwing was also present during [[Battle of Autobot City|the infamous assault]] on [[Autobot City (G1)|Autobot City]] in 2005, where he was at the head of the first attack. Together with [[Shrapnel (G1)|Shrapnel]], he battled [[Hot Rod/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Hot Rod]] and [[Kup (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Kup]] at [[Lookout Mountain]], a fight that did not go in his favour (Kup being surprisingly nimble for an old guy). Blitzwing is also shown participating in the general carnage at Autobot City a short time later, and is one of the several Decepticons who ran afoul of Optimus Prime. Unlike his less fortunate comrades, Blitzwing was able to avoid getting run over, and even managed to shoot back a little before Prime beat him, which is more than most Decepticons expect when facing Optimus Prime. In fact, Blitzwing made it through the entire battle more or less intact, which meant he got to ride all the way to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] without anyone trying to kick him out the back door when he wasn't looking. This is exactly what happened to Megatron, however, and Blitzwing's old desire for leadership blossomed back up as he joined in on the scuffle for leadership that followed. Ultimately Starscream was the winner, and Blitzwing attended his coronation as the new [[Decepticon leader]]. {{storylink|The Transformers: The Movie}}
{{note|Blitzwing’s involvement in these events, or events mostly similar, were also chronicled in the comic mini-series “[[Transformers: The Animated Movie]].”}}

When the [[Quintesson]]s arrived on [[Chaar]] to bribe the [[Decepticon]] army with promises of [[energon]] and revenge, Blitzwing was the only one of his comrades to turn down their offers. He had met their kind before (or at least he thought they seemed familiar to him for [[Overcharge (G1)|''some'' reason]]) and did not trust them, though he could not remember why. Upon the triumphant return of [[Galvatron (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Galvatron]], Blitzwing was the only Decepticon left to greet him. {{storylink|Five Faces of Darkness, Part 3}}

[[File:FFoD5 Blitzwings betrayal.jpg|upright=1.1|thumb|It's the look of absolute shock on Galvatron's face that sells this.]]
Later, during an assault on Cybertron, it was Blitzwing who discovered that the Quintessons were lying to Galvatron and plotting to destroy all Transformers (instead of just the Autobots, which Blitzwing had no problems with). He tried to report this to Galvatron, but when he could not convince the Decepticon leader, he turned to [[Hot Rod/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Rodimus Prime]] for help. Together, Blitzwing and Rodimus were able to stop the [[Sharkticon (G1)|Sharkticon]] commando team that had infiltrated Cybertron. Galvatron, unfortunately, suspected that Blitzwing was trying to betray the Decepticons and steal the "[[Decepticon Matrix|Decepticon Matrix of Leadership]]" for himself and threw the Quintessons' [[Large switch|nullifying switch]], deactivating Transformers galaxy-wide until [[Spike Witwicky (G1)|Spike Witwicky]] destroyed it. With the Quintessons' deception revealed, Galvatron attempted to renew hostilities with Rodimus, but Blitzwing drew his weapon and targeted Galvatron, stating that the battle was over for now. Seething, but seeing little alternative, Galvatron accepted and withdrew his forces from Cybertron, but banished Blitzwing from the Decepticon ranks forever. {{storylink|Five Faces of Darkness, Part 5}}

[[File:TVMagazineStarscreamsGhost1.jpg|thumb|upright=1.1]]
{{note|In the original script for ''[[Five Faces of Darkness]]'', after Blitzwing's banishment, Rodimus extended his offer to Blitzwing a second time, and in this instance, he did not accept, but did not ''refuse'', saying that he would think about it. The later episode, "[[Starscream's Ghost]]" was originally written to feature Blitzwing, but was later re-written to be about the newest Decepticon Triple Changer, [[Octane]], although there is no explanation offered for why Octane is friendly with the Autobots. It would seem that this would have originally been Blitzwing following up on Rodimus' offer. Blitzwing would reappear briefly in several crowd scenes, such as "[[Fight or Flee (episode)|Fight or Flee]]" and "[[The Ultimate Weapon]]", likely as the result of carelessness in production. Then again. Galvatron did forgive Scourge for [[Ghost in the Machine (episode)|his]] [[The Burden Hardest to Bear|antics]]. Plus, Galvatron is pretty insane.}}
Later, Blitzwing, Starscream and Megatron attacked the Japanese city of [[Yokohama]], causing destruction using Megatron's "Super Megatron Gun" form. Warpath stood against them, but Blitzwing simply charged onwards, crushing the [[Mini Vehicle]] under his tracks. The Decepticons were eventually vanquished when [[Tracks (G1)|Tracks]] used his aerial manueverability to trick Blitzwing and Starscream to crash into their leader, followed by all three getting a "[[Optimus Prime (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Prime]]-[[Ultra Magnus (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Magnus]] Double Cross Kick" to their backs. {{storylink|Fight! ====''The Battle of the Star Gate''====
Blitzwing was amongst the Decepticons who attacked the ''[[Trigger]]'' as it neared completion. They took it over easily, thanks in part to the human collaborator, [[Trov]]. One human, [[Makoto (Star Gate)|Makoto]], had been overlooked by the Decepticons however, and managed to pin down Blitzwing and the rest of the group under Megatron’s command in the ''Trigger''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s rail room with a powerful electromagnetic field. Blitzwing was almost sent hurdling to the farthest side of the galaxy by the ''Trigger'', but a blast from Megatron’s fusion cannon disabled the portal. Then the Autobots showed up, and the two factions began their battle aboard the space station. The Decepticons lost the fight and fled. {{storylink|First Contact (Star Gate)|First Contact}}

Blitzwing helped Megatron and Starscream fight off a squad of Autobots who had stumbled upon the Decepticons’ latest Energon-gathering scheme. He was ordered to provide Astrotrain with cover fire as the Decepticon shuttle retreated with the Decepticons’ newly acquired supply of Energon cubes. {{storylink|Activation}}

A duplicate of Starscream then showed up and swiped the entirety of the Energon cache, before disappearing with the other Starscream. Blitzwing was later amongst the Decepticons Megatron brought to the ''Trigger'' to confront the two Starscreams conspiring against the Decepticon leader. When Starscream combined himself with the ''Trigger'' to create a powerful new body for himself, Blitzwing had to contend with the volley of asteroids thrown towards both Autobots and Decepticons from Starscream’s star gate. He was then almost sucked into a portal to a black hole when Starscream neared defeat, but was instead sent plummeting down to Earth when Optimus and Megatron worked together to defeat Starscream. {{storylink|The Battle of the Star Gate}}
Blitzwing, Astrotrain and Octane were commissioned by [[Ratbat (G1)|Ratbat]] to investigate the loss of his [[Wash and Roll|priceless cargo]] that had arrived on [[Earth]] via a low-cost freighter, but hadn't checked in as scheduled. Upon making contact with the [[Freighter pilot|crashed ship's pilot]], Blitzwing and his companions were infected with [[Scraplet]]s, and began to slowly waste away. Lucky for them, the Autobot [[Blaster (G1)|Blaster]] was also infected, {{storylink|Crater Critters}} and his friends managed to re-discover the [[Water|strange and wondrous chemical]] that acted as a cure. In saving Blaster, the Triple Changers were incidentally saved as well. {{storylink|The Cure!}}

Blitzwing and the Triple Changers hooked up with Ratbat and Shockwave full-time after that, operating out of the Decepticons' tropical island starship. At that time, the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]] had left Earth, allowing the other Decepticons to launch increasingly brazen raids; it was the happiest time in Blitzwing's life. {{storylink|Toy Soldiers!}} ''On Shockwave's orders, he went up on a mission to [[London]] alongside [[Ramjet (G1)|Ramjet]], [[Dirge (G1)|Dirge]], [[Thrust (G1)|Thrust]] and [[Overbite (G1)|Overbite]] to retrieve the remains of [[Straxus (G1)|Megatron]] from the bottom of the [[Thames|River Thames]].'' {{storylink|Salvage!}} He was later part of a major offensive against the Autobots on the [[Moon (moon)|moon]], when the crews of the Ark and ''[[Steelhaven]]'' all gathered together as one big target. Blitzwing's fortunes changed, however, when he came [[sword]]-to-sword with [[Grimlock (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Grimlock]] — it seems the [[Energo weapon|energo-sword]] is mightier than the [[electron scimitar]]. Blitzwing was left in two pieces on the lunar landscape, and one can only assume his fellow Decepticons collected his pieces before fleeing. {{storylink|Totaled!}}

Still smarting from his last fight, Blitzwing eagerly rushed into battle with [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]]'s Decepticons when conflict broke out between the two factions. Turnabout is fair play, as this time it was Blitzwing who cut an opponent in two, slicing through [[Horri-Bull (G1)|Horri-Bull]]'s midsection. {{storylink|Cold War!}} Blitzwing was later destroyed in [[Buenos Aires]] along with the other Triple Changers as they tried to fight an [[Underbase]]-empowered [[Starscream (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Starscream]]. {{storylink|Dark Star}}
Octane finally relented and told his fellow Decepticons that he had been "playing" again, attacking human vehicles for sport, when [[Jazz (G1)|one of them]] led him on a merry chase right into his current predicament. ====Battle Drive====
[[File:BattledriveBumblebeevsBlitzwingStarscream.jpg|thumb|upright=1.1]]
Starscream and Blitzwing had been instructed by Megatron to wreak havoc and destroy the humans' wheat and corn farmland. They were meant to let the Autobots overhear that the Decepticons were planning to force the humans into starvation if they did not become Decepticon slaves, their true plan was a much more practical one. The two jets were to lure the Autobots into the open country, where they would have no cover against the flying Decepticons, and thus would be easy pickings.

In one possible sequence of events, Bumblebee happened upon the duo, and was able to take out Blitzwing with a sucker punch. This took Blitzwing out of commission for the time being, as he lay a smoldering wreck on the ground. Later, if events played out in a certain fashion, a patched-up Blitzwing would join the rest of the Decepticons in tracking down Sparkplug Witwicky to a cave in the mountains. The human had discovered a fatal flaw in the Decepticons' circuitry, and the bulk of the Decepticons' forces were tasked by Megatron into hunting him down. The Decepticons were then ambushed by Swoop, who then either took out Megatron by himself, leading Blitzwing and the rest of the Decepticons to be subsequently defeated by Autobot reinforcements, or flew away after his initial assault, leading most of the Decepticon jets, but not Blitzwing himself, on a chase all the way back to Autobot headquarters. In the later turn of events, a later possibility arose wherein Prowl attempted to make a mad dash back to Autobot headquarters with Sparkplug. In this scenario, Blitzwing and Laserbeak chased Prowl as he zig-zagged into a forest, evading Decepticon fire... only for it all to turn out nothing but one of [[you]]r dreams.

In a completely different sequence of events, Bumblebee happened upon the duo, but hid amongst abandoned cars on the roadway instead of engaging Blitzwing and Starscream. Starscream and Blitzwing are not fooled, and transform before Bumblebee to discuss the Decepticons' "plan" between themselves, knowing Bumblebee would report back to Optimus. Before taking off, Blitzwing was sure to bang up the "abandonned car" out of spite. Once Optimus Prime had been lured out to the open farmland, Blitzwing was amongst the many flying Decepticons who planned to take him out. Whether or not the Decepticons succeeded depended on what decisions Optimus made.

In other possible sequences of events, Blitzwing is part of a larger Decepticon army that take out the Autobots without much fanfare. {{storylink|Battle Drive}}
====Autobot Alert!====
In one possible scenario, Blitzwing accompanied Galvatron on a campaign to retrieve an ancient sphere of cybertite that contained the secrets to an ancient Autobot power-booster. Learning that the sphere was located within a sunken ship off the California coast, Blitzwing and the others headed for its location.

If they found the Autobots in the middle of retrieving it, the Decepticons destroyed both the ship and the sphere, and proceeded to rain superior Decepticon firepower upon their foes.

If the Decepticons found the coast deserted, they retrieved the ship themselves, using the might of Devastator.

If Ironhide, Brawn and Grapple attempted to snatch the ship away from the Decepticons, Blitzwing and his comrades destroyed the ship and the sphere contained within to keep it out of Autobot hands. The Decepticons then proceeded to pin down the Autobots in their hiding spots, leaving the heroic robots at their mercy.

If Springer, Topspin and Seaspray executed their plan to retrieve the sphere from Decepticon clutches, they successfully distracted the evil robots for long enough to whisk the cybertite sphere back to Metroplex. {{storylink|Autobot Alert!}}
After the disappearance of Optimus Prime and [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] in a [[space bridge]] explosion, Blitzwing remained with Shockwave's Decepticon forces, but was captured and imprisoned by the Autobots as an experiment too dangerous to be set free. Due to some unique property of his [[spark]], Blitzwing was abducted from [[Autobase]] by [[the Fallen]] as part of the [[Unbinding]], and presumably released back to the Decepticons after the temporary truce that resulted from the Fallen's defeat. {{storylink|Confrontation (issue)|Confrontation}}
Shortly before the return of [[Skystalker (G1)|Skystalker]] and [[Skyhopper]], Blitzwing appeared to be undergoing some sort of mutation which Shockwave did not fully understand, but which was also affecting [[Astrotrain (G1)|Astrotrain]]. Shockwave wanted to analyze and concentrate this mutation but his plans were cut short by the arrival of the two Micromasters - Blitzwing was knocked offline by Skyhopper, while Skystalker turned Shockwave into a glove puppet. {{storylink|Recipe for Hate}}
Somehow he avoided becoming one of the Transformers recovered and controlled by [[Lazarus (G1)|Lazarus]], returning instead to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] where he fell once more under Shockwave's command. During this time, Shockwave had unified the Autobots and Decepticons, and Blitzwing now served alongside his former enemies as part of a combined force. Alongside his fellow [[Triple Changer]]s, Blitzwing accompanied Shockwave to Earth to capture the renegade forces of Optimus Prime and Megatron and even managed to cause Megatron some damage before he was badly bent out of shape by [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]] in the battle that ensued.

While Shockwave returned to Cybertron with the captive ''[[Nemesis (G1)|Nemesis]]'' crew, Blitzwing remained behind on Earth to assist [[Security Team Dion]] in apprehending the Autobots. {{storylink|New World Order}} Despite his mutual antagonism with the [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|team's commander]], they managed to capture Prime's crew without incident, except when Blitzwing's goading of Optimus Prime caused him to smack the Triple Changer down. [[File:6 blitzwing route of all evil.jpg|thumb|Eh, doesn't matter anymore.]]
Shockwave, Blitzwing, Astrotrain and the [[Conehead]]s went to ground in the Cybertronian wastelands, operating out of a hidden base. When their perimeter alarm was tripped by a reanimated [[Air Warrior]], Shockwave ordered Blitzwing and Astrotrain to investigate. The mindless drone was merely a distraction for a [[Predacon (G1)|Predacon]] attack and though Astrotrain surrendered and agreed to serve Megatron, Blitzwing's loyalty to Shockwave proved too great - he resisted and the Predacons tore him to pieces. {{storylink|Lost and Found (issue)|Lost and Found}}
The answers to these conundrums, and the identity of the being who examined his fallen form (though it was likely [[Sixshot (G1)|Sixshot]]) will remain forever unanswered, due to the bankruptcy and collapse of Dreamwave.}}
Some 500,000 years ago, Blitzwing served under [[Bludgeon (G1)|Bludgeon]] as part of a team sent to find the lost [[Metrotitan (body-type)|Titan]], [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]]. On the two-hundred-and-thirty-eighth day of this grueling campaign, Blitzwing and his colleagues destroyed a [[Nibarian]] outpost because they believed it was between them and their quarry. A hunch from [[Thundercracker (G1)|Thundercracker]] led them further to a planet inhabited by [[Urtuskian]]s. As Blitzwing and the other Decepticons started obliterating the primitive outpost, believing Metroplex was underneath (and also because it was fun), their team was caught up to by a team of [[Autobot]]s who had been trailing them.
In the modern day, Blitzwing was part of a Decepticon infiltration unit that had operated covertly on Earth for at least four years, working to destabilize Earth's governing organizations and create global anarchy. One year later, Blitzwing participated in the massive Decepticon attack on [[New York City]], joining the other flying Decepticons in repelling an attack by human fighter jets. {{storylink|All Hail Megatron issue 1|All Hail Megatron #1}} They then blew up the [[Brooklyn Bridge]] to prevent any humans from escaping. {{storylink|All Hail Megatron issue 2|All Hail Megatron #2}} Blitzwing was one of many Decepticons to listen to Megatron's speech about conquest. {{storylink|All Hail Megatron issue 4|All Hail Megatron #4}} Blitzwing later approached Megatron in [[Israel]], worried about his leader going off on his own without any [[Mini-Cassette]]s to disrupt human missiles. Megatron replied that he needed some time alone, and that human weaponry was of no concern to him. {{storylink|All Hail Megatron issue 6|All Hail Megatron #6}} As the Decepticons returned to New York, Blitzwing witnessed Starscream incite a minor rebellion against Megatron. {{storylink|All Hail Megatron issue 10|All Hail Megatron #10}} He then fought back against European jets and the Autobots who had returned from Cybertron onboard [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]]. {{storylink|All Hail Megatron issue 11|All Hail Megatron #11}} The Decepticon forces were defeated, {{storylink|All Hail Megatron issue 12|All Hail Megatron #12}} and Blitzwing and the others fled into space on Astrotrain. {{storylink|All Hail Megatron issue 13#Uneasy Lies the Head|Uneasy Lies the Head}}

It took three years, but Megatron was eventually repaired from the injuries he had sustained in New York, only to be very disappointed by the awful shape Blitzwing and the other Decepticons were in. {{storylink|Spotlight: Megatron}} Under his command, the Decepticons returned to Earth and attacked a [[Skywatch]] base in order to free their captured comrades.
Megatron would later use space bridge technology built into in his new body to summon Blitzwing and the rest of the Decepticons on Earth to him on Cybertron. {{storylink|The Question}} At first they did battle with the Autobots, but were soon mind-controlled by [[Galvatron (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Galvatron]] into combining with his [[Sweep (G1)|Sweep]] army and forming a [[Deceptigod|huge monster]]. {{storylink|Chaos Part Three: Kings|Kings}} After the beast was defeated, the weakened Decepticons were rounded up and imprisoned by the Autobots. Blitzwing was still pretty brutal. {{storylink|Transformers: The Death of Optimus Prime|The Death of Optimus Prime}}

Blitzwing and Astrotrain supported [[Shockwave (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Shockwave]]'s attempts to restart the war with the Autobots, but their plan was nipped in the bud when Starscream and [[Prowl (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Prowl]] had [[Arcee (G1)|Arcee]] defeat the rebellious Decepticons and kidnap their leaders. {{storylink|The End of the Beginning of the World}} However, Prowl turned out to be under the control of a returning Megatron, so instead of getting captured the Decepticons were upgraded and allowed to rejoin their old leader. In the Autobot story, Blitzwing appears to have been placed in charge of the Jaad wind power plant. When Optiumus Prime's squad team made it to the main station of the power plant, Blitzwing approached them in his tank form, expressing mock surprise that the Autobots managed to make it. He transformed to robot form, commenting how worthless his troops were, letting the Autobots reach the main station so easily. Blitzwing then announced that it didn't matter, because he was going to burn up the Autobots. However, Blitzwing failed to live up to his threat and was defeated by the Autobot squad team. Expressing disbelief that he was defeated, he decided to high-tail it out of there, transforming to jet mode and flying away. The Autobots faced Blitzwing once again inside the [[Monogan Hydroelectric Power Station]] and yet again at the [[Karzite mine]]. They managed to defeat the triple changer along with his troops on both occasions.

During the Decepticon storyline, Blitzwing was a member of a team that Megatron sent to investigate a mysterious UFO that was spotted in the area of Zel Samine. Something caused the team to lose contact with the main Decepticon forces, and they found out that they could not leave the planet, as Zel's sun, Paradius, emitted electromagnetic rays that was harmful to them. Unable to contact Megatron and with no way to leave the planet safely, Blitzwing and the others scattered across Zel.

The Decepticon forces went to Zel in order to investigate, and Blitzwing found them just when they were leaving the geothermal power plant. Expressing relief on how the Decepticons finally arrived, Blitzwing drove up to them in tank mode and transformed to [[robot mode]]. He complained about how late the Decepticons were and voiced his thoughts on how they were going to leave him behind to clean up all the pieces of the Autobots the Decepticons had defeated. Megatron briefly thought that he would have to bolt Blitzwing's mouth shut, but ultimately decided that he could use the triple changer and let him join his forces. The fight came to a stalemate at first, then the Decepticons managed to acquire the generator. Though Blitzwing and his allies were at first supercharged by the device, the MacgGuffin generator poroved to be more volatile than they expected. It exploded, sending the Decepticons flying off into the distance. {{storylink|Raiding Party}} When he discovered the Quintessons were planning to betray the Decepticons, Blitzwing was forced to switch sides in an attempt to thwart the Quintesson plan. Like most early G1 toys, he has little or no articulation in robot mode, with only his arms being able to move up and down a little. He does, however, have a swiveling turret and deployable front landing gear in his vehicle modes. Originally released in 1985, he was re-issued two decades later in [[TakaraTomy|Takara]]'s "bookbox" [[The Transformers Collection]] series; despite being included in the instruction manual, the rub face decal was nowhere to be found on this version.
:All US versions had the spring-loaded missile launchers severely weakened. The Japanese releases, however, kept the full-strength launching mechanisms. The tank turret on the original Blitzwing toy can be taken off, while later releases feature a turret that cannot be removed.
:Part of the third wave of [[2012]]-[[2013]] ''[[Transformers: Generations|Generations]]'' Voyager Class toys, '[[Thrilling 30]]' Blitzwing is a modern reinterpretation of his original toy, and transforms into two vaguely futuristic vehicles: a jet with an opening cockpit and back-mounted rocket boosters, as well as a tank with a rotating turret and a spring-loaded cannon that launches its missile when the barrel is compressed. The cannon can be swung out and deployed for use in jet mode. He comes with a blaster and a sword, both of which mount/are held by [[5mm post]]. He features 5mm ports for his hands, shoulders/vehicle sides, cannon base, and wings, while both weapons have numerous additional posts and ports.

:In a nod to his ''[[Transformers Animated (franchise)|Transformers Animated]]'' [[Blitzwing (Animated)|incarnation]], he sports a face-swapping feature, allowing him to switch between a more traditional, visored face, a monocled face (inspired by the ''Animated'' character's 'Icy' persona), and a black jack-o'-lantern-like face (inspired by the ''Animated'' character's 'Random' persona).

:The toy is renowned for two significant [[design flaw]]s. The first is that tabs meant to anchor the robot shoulders to the chest never solidly lock into place—they are simply too far apart. This makes his shoulder assemblies swing up and out of his chest when the shoulders are rotated up. Pressing the shoulder slots into the chest tabs ''sometimes'' works to counter this, but it depends on the [[Quality control|tolerances]] of each individual figure. The problem can be completely eliminated with a little work:
:#For those not wishing to modify the toy itself, spacing material can be affixed to the back of the shoulder piece. This creates support in the back and allows the front tabs to remain in place.
:#Alternately, one can disassemble the figure and lightly sand the screw mounts and inside chest walls on the front half, bringing the back of the figure and the front closer together, and allowing the shoulder assemblies to lock in completely solid as originally intended. This has the potential risk of over-sanding, which prevents the legs from clipping securely to his chest for his vehicle modes.
:The second major flaw concerns the face-swapping feature; almost universally, this does not actually end up working because the rotating faces are rendered immobile by an excess of paint on the inside of the helmet, including the post the faces are mounted on. This can be fixed by dismantling the head, removing the faces, and trimming the excess paint in the helmet interior, or in some circumstances, by leaving the toy in a freezer until the inner-helmet paint becomes brittle enough to crack by exerting pressure on the faces, allowing the faces to move as designed.

:There are two [[variant]]s of Blitzwing: The first version sports an all-silver Decepticon [[insignia]] on its chest and has the missile inserted into the turret inside the packaging, no extra space for the missile in the plastic tray behind the turret and no holes cut for tying down the missile, while a later running change changed the Decepticon insignia's color to purple, with a silver outline, and has the missile tied down in the plastic tray behind the turret.<ref name="genvari1">[http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-toy-discussion/944880-variant-generations-blitzwing.html TFW2005 thread] about ''Generations'' Blitzwing's Decepticon insignia variant.</ref><ref name="genvari2">[http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-toy-discussion/897354-generation-blitzwing-packaging-bubble-variant-fyi.html TFW2005 thread] about ''Generations'' Blitzwing's missile-placement-inside-the-packaging variant.</ref> Oddly, the official Hasbro [[stock photography|stock photo]] of the toy inside its packaging depicts the later version.
:The Japanese release sports a more metallic gold paint application as opposed to the lemon yellow gloss of his helmet, additional purple paint on his thighs and shoulders, dark metallic gray paint within his cockpit, and additional silver paint on his torso. The neck of the figure is now painted black rather than yellow to better blend in with the lower portion his three faces. Some of the silver detailing on his torso was changed to gold. The figure also features a lighter, more metallic purple, lighter tan, and silver paint on all his gray plastic. The rubberized nose cone's colors are now more in sync with the entire body's purple. The scimitar weapon is molded in a solid purple plastic as opposed to the Hasbro version's "blade" being painted in a lighter hue to simulate an "energon" effect. The same design flaws that plagued the Hasbro release were also carried over in the Tomy version with the exception of the face switching gimmick issue.

:Blitzwing was [[retool]]ed into ''Generations'' [[Doubledealer#Generations|Doubledealer]] and ''[[Transformers Cloud|Cloud]]'' [[Starscream (G1)/toys#Cloud|Starscream]].
[[File:StudioOxCybertronBattleCons.jpg|upright=1.4|thumb|The War Without?]]
*The earliest ''[[Diaclone]]'' catalog artwork to show the "Jet Fighter Type" Triplechanger depicted it with a less humanoid-looking face; this art took its cues from an unused, pre-production design for the toy's head. Images of both were featured in the booklet included with Japan's "Megatron [[Wikipedia:LaserDisc|LaserDisc]]" set in 1995.
*Blitzwing's [[Tech Spec]] [[Bio]] has a probable typographical error on it which gives him the function of "Ground and Air Commander" at a rank of ''six''. The actual function, which appears in other merchandise (such as the [[Action Cards]]) is "Ground and Air Commando".
*In the episode "[[Cosmic Rust (episode)|Cosmic Rust]]" several of the Stunticons fit inside of Blitzwing in his jet mode in a similar way to how Decepticons usually go inside of Astrotrain in his shuttle mode. It would seem as though Blitzwing can mass shift to make his flying [[alternate mode]] large enough to fit other Decepticons the way that fellow Triple Changer Astrotrain often does.
*A [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertronian]] battle scene from ''[[TV Magazine]]'' (reprinted in [[Transformers Generations]]) appears to depict (one of?) Blitzwing's original alt mode(s) as a double-barreled tank - a good decade and a half before he received a Cybertronian makeover in ''[[Transformers: The War Within|The War Within]]''.
*The season 3 [[title sequence]] features a large row of tanks that look suspiciously identical to Blitzwing. If there was any significance meant by this is unknown (though almost certainly unlikely), but the oddity was later rationalized with the drone character [[Overcharge (G1)|Overcharge]].
Wherever Transformers goes, it takes with it its '''theme song'''. Its lyrics were established in Generation 1, and most Western Transformers shows (''Beast Wars'', ''Beast Machines'' and ''Prime'' being the notable exceptions) follow the lyrics, or at the very least an acoustic pattern matching them. No two series have ''ever'' used the lyrics in the same order.

==Generation 1==
The original, classic ''[[The Transformers (cartoon)|Generation 1]]'' theme tune by [[Ford Kinder]] and [[Anne Bryant]], with its simple, iconic repetition of the brand's rhyming slogans, "More than meets the eye," and "robots in disguise," has formed the basis of most Western Transformers theme tunes. Accompanying the [[title sequence]] and being used as both the opening theme of the animated series and in the multitude of toy [[commercial]]s over the years, it's pretty much burned into the mind of every twenty-something in the English-speaking western world, and maybe their parents as well. You say to someone, "Transformers?" and it's not unlikely that you'll have them jingle back ''"Ro-bots in dis-guise!"''

Seasons 1, 2 and 3 of the series feature their own distinct renditions of the theme tune. Season 2's version was mostly different but the tune and lyrics remain unchanged. Season 3's version is especially distinguished by the unusual "Ah-aah!" chant which is a chorus tune that runs throughout it, and being offbeat compared to those of earlier seasons, which suits Season 3's grim and sci fi orientated nature. (Season 4, having only three episodes, used the previous season's theme.) For ''[[The Transformers: The Movie]]'', composer [[Vince DiCola]] created several new versions of the tune (featuring instrumental pieces included in other parts of the movie's score), sung by [[Ed Frugé]], [[Gary Falcone]] and [[Stan Bush]], although ultimately, the finished movie used [[The Transformers (Theme)|a power metal arrangement]] by [[Lion]] with additional verses in between the familiar chorus.

Various iterations of the theme were incorporated into many pieces of the show's stock background music, which was composed by [[Robert J. Walsh]].

The closing theme of the first two seasons had a different orchestration, dominated by guitar and horn. An instrumental version of the Season 3 theme was used as the closing theme of that season and Season 4.

==Generation 2==

''[[Transformers: Generation 2 (cartoon)|Generation 2]]'' had a new theme, retaining only the "robots in disguise" opening of the original theme. This theme was more orchestral-sounding.

==Beast Era==
As the first new Transformers cartoons since Generation 1, ''[[Beast Wars: Transformers (cartoon)|Beast Wars]]'' and ''[[Beast Machines: Transformers (cartoon)|Beast Machines]]'' featured new theme tunes that owed nothing to the original; in years to come, this would make them the distinct exceptions amongst their animated brethren. ''Beast Wars'' features an instrumental theme tune with occasional roaring shouts of "Beast Wars!" (unless you live in Canada, in which case they were shouting "Beasties!"). The theme was composed by [[Robert Buckley]], who composed and performed all of the show's background music as well. The motifs of the ''Beast Wars'' theme show up in many scenes during the show itself.

During the episode [[The Agenda (Part 2)]], Decepticon-turned-Predacon [[Ravage (G1)|Ravage]] turns on the Maximals, declares "Decepticons Forever!" and transforms to his G1 cassette-mode, slotting into a control panel. For this brief moment of uber-fan-wank, Mainframe wanted to briefly insert the original G1 theme, but were unable to acquire the rights. Instead Ravage's transformation was set to the original G1 transformation sound, and lo, there was much rejoicing.

''Beast Machines'' stands out even further, having licensed the pre-existing song, [[Leftfield]]'s "[[Phat Planet]]," to serve as its theme, though with several additional SFX such as animal snarls and gunfire for the background. However, Buckley continued to supply background music for the show itself, though it had more of a hip-hop/techno feel than its predecessor. Another song related to Beast Machines, "[[Evolution Revolution]]," was produced by FoxKids for use in preview materials but was not heard in the series itself.

==Robots In Disguise==
The fandom just about wet itself when ''[[Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2001 cartoon)|Robots in Disguise]]'' became the first cartoon since Generation 1 to employ a variation of the classic theme tune, although there were a few surprises along the way. First, an mp3 of what appeared to be the new theme tune was released online, but when the series actually debuted, everyone was a bit surprised to discover that its theme was an entirely ''different'' variation of the G1 theme, most notable for adding the new line, "Change before your eyes," in place of "more than meets the eye." The mp3 turned out to be the new commercial jingle by [[Marc S. Pearlman]], which featured in commercials for all subsequent lines. The actual opening theme used in the show was arranged by [[Saban Entertainment|Saban]] mainstay [[Paul Gordon]]; an extended version of the theme song could at one time be heard on his website, [http://www.stayawakemusic.com/composer.htm Stay Awake Music], but that site no longer exists, however, it can be heard [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySKJB8o5CNU here].

==The Unicron Trilogy==
''[[Transformers: Armada (cartoon)|Armada]]'' followed this trend, featuring a trance version of the classic theme, sans lyrics (with a narrator lecturing the audience on the premise of the show instead). A second arrangement, however, was included as an "insert song" during episodes, and featured the traditional "more than meets the eye" and "robots in disguise" lines. The [[Transformers (PS2)|''Armada'' video game]], meanwhile, included a stirring orchestral version of the theme composed by [[Ric Formosa]], which... well, totally kicked ass, frankly. It also included a metal version by [[Dropbox]], an odd techno version by [[Regurgitator]], and a funk version by [[The Brown Hornet]], the latter of which was used over the end credits.

The ''[[Transformers: Energon (cartoon)|Energon]]'' cartoon's theme was quite frankly ''horrible'', featuring another new version of the classic theme, this time with lyrics, the transformation sound mixed in where it didn't really fit, and a quite frankly cringeworthy keyboard solo during the middle eight. Needless to say, it did not stand out in any great manner.

This was the cue for ''[[Transformers: Cybertron (cartoon)|Cybertron]]'' to really shake things up, offering a unique version of the tune by British DJ [[Paul Oakenfold]], with energetic shouts of the brand and faction names. Unfortunately, it also includes a completely unenthusiastic narration by [[Garry Chalk|Optimus Prime]], explaining how the Autobots have to find the [[Cyber Planet Key]]s and namedropping several members of the Autobot team from the start of the series ''in every single episode''. Perhaps most significantly, it featured the return of the long-lost line, "Autobots wage their battle to destroy the evil forces of the Decepticons"—albeit simply spoken by Oakenfold during the middle-eight, rather than sung. The word "The" was inserted into the beginning of the line. Interestingly enough; according to The [[Transformers Vault]] this cadence was also supposed to be used for the Original Cartoon theme; but the intent was lost in the lyrics.

While the themes weres certainly unique and bearable at the start of the shows, they unfortunately became grating (particularly Energon's) after they were included in sans-lyrics form over every stock footage sequence in the show...that is to say, ''lots of times.''

==Live-action films==

As part of the [[Sector Seven (game)|viral marketing]] for the [[Transformers (film)|live-action movie]], an mp3 of Linkin Park soundalikes "[[DECEPTIBOT]]" performing a song that included the classic theme as a chorus was released online. The song also featured a roll call of the Autobots in the movie while excluding [[Jazz (Movie)|Jazz]] as...well, we all know what [[Death|happened]] to Jazz. This song didn't feature in the movie or on the soundtrack, though. Instead, [[MuteMath]] performed a <s>whiny and emo</s> laid back version of the tune for the soundtrack, although it didn't appear in the film itself. Ironically, the Deceptibot theme does appear in the IMAX extended cut of the film, though none of the lyrics are heard.

In 2009, the ''[[Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (film)|Revenge of the Fallen]]'' [[Revenge of the Fallen: The Album|soundtrack]] featured a cover of Lion's version of the ''Transformers'' theme song by the American band [[Cheap Trick]].

==Animated==

''[[Transformers Animated (cartoon)|Transformers Animated]]'' continued this tradition with yet another new variation of the theme by [[Andy Sturmer]] and [[Sebastian Evans II]], including an entirely new rhyming couplet, "More than they appear/Justice, bolts, and gears!!" However, because the opening credits had to be shortened from one minute down to thirty seconds, this new verse had to be omitted from the final broadcast version of the opening. The full, uncut theme song is available on the DVD that comes in the Optimus Prime vs. Megatron - The Battle Begins 2-pack, and was available for download in mp3 format on Hasbro's website.

==Prime==
''[[Transformers: Prime (cartoon)|Prime]]'' on the other hand, eschewed the theme for a classical composition by [[Brian Tyler]] (which sounds like a generic "Hollywood blockbuster movie theme" similar to [[Steve Jablonsky]]'s "Arrival to Earth" from the [[Transformers (film)|2007 ''Transformers'' movie]]'s [[Transformers: The Score|score]] or Michael Giacchino's "Enterprising Young Men" from the 2009 ''Star Trek'' film, both of which Orci and Kurtzman were also involved with). The "[[Darkness Rising]]" mini-series didn't even have an opening theme, only showing the title and development credits following the cold open. The theme was re-recorded for season 3 in line with the ''[[Beast Hunters]]'' subline.

==Rescue Bots==
''[[Transformers: Rescue Bots (cartoon)|Rescue Bots]]'' also did its own thing, opting for a rock/pop opening composed by the show's incidental musicians, husband and wife team [[Starr Parodi]] and [[Jeff Eden Fair]]. The lyrics, written by [[Nicole Dubuc]] and sung by Marianas Trench front-man [[Josh Ramsay]], describe the show's premise.

At the climax of the musical episode "[[I Have Heard the Robots Singing]]", the main cast sings a revamped version of the theme song.

==Robots in Disguise (2015)==

The theme for the 2015 ''[[Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2015 cartoon)|Robots in Disguise]]'' cartoon uses the original Transformers theme as a jumping off point for a composition of its own, suspense-building with rising horns and a meaty guitar riff at the end.

==Theme songs in other countries==
There are many [[Japanese themes]], with different openings and closings for each series. Many different performers have contributed songs over the years. One of the songs is totally about how [[Star Saber (Victory)|Star Saber]] [[Cybertron Banzai|wet the bed as a kid]]. Seriously. The opening for ''[[Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2001 cartoon)|Car Robots]]'' ("[[Honō no Overdrive: Car Robot Cybertron|Honō no Overdrive ~Car Robot Cybertron~]]" performed by [[Kōji Wada]]) has the lyrics "Go Boy! Convoy!" It's kind of dubious. Interestingly enough, ''[[Transformers: Armada (cartoon)|Micron Legend]]''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s "[[Transformer: Dream Again]]" features the phrase "More than Meets the Eye" uttered just before the refrain, while ''[[Transformers: Cybertron (cartoon)|Galaxy Force]]''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s "[[Call You... Kimi to Boku no Mirai|CALL YOU... Kimi to Boku no Mirai]]" has the phrase "Robots in Disguise" during the bridge in the full version.

The French one is pretty ...French. However, for the French dubs of the [[Unicron Trilogy]], the English theme songs were used. The cartoons were apparently dubbed from the English dub version rather than the original Japanese.

The French-Canadian one uses the same music as the original Season 1 theme song, but with the lyrics translated to French.

In Germany, the ''Animated'' theme song is the same, but translated into German. This makes ''Animated'' the first Transformers series to air there with a German theme instead of the original.

Italy kept for most of the series the original openings, except for the ''[[Transformers Generation 2 (Italian opening)|Generation 2]]'' cartoon, ''[[Rombi di Tuono e Cieli di Fuoco per i Biocombat|Beast Wars]]'', the [[Transformers (Superobots)|DVD]] [[Cybertron (Superobots)|release]] of ''Robots in Disguise'', later reruns of ''[[Transformers Energon (Italian opening)|Energon]]'' and the first season of ''[[Transformers Prime (Italian opening)|Prime]]'', which got brand new openings. Also, the TV broadcast of ''Robots in Disguise'' used an instrumental version of the English opening.
Its lyrics were established in Generation 1, and most Western Transformers shows (''Beast Wars'', ''Beast Machines'' and ''Prime'' being the notable exceptions) follow the lyrics, or at the very least an acoustic pattern matching them.
==Generation 1==

==Generation 2==

''[[Transformers: Generation 2 (cartoon)|Generation 2]]'' had a new theme, retaining only the "robots in disguise" opening of the original theme. This theme was more orchestral-sounding.

==Beast Era==

==Robots In Disguise==

==The Unicron Trilogy==

==Live-action films==

==Animated==

==Prime==

==Rescue Bots==

==Robots in Disguise (2015)==

==Theme songs in other countries==

==Generation 2==

''[[Transformers: Generation 2 (cartoon)|Generation 2]]'' had a new theme, retaining only the "robots in disguise" opening of the original theme. This theme was more orchestral-sounding.

==Beast Era==

==Robots In Disguise==

==The Unicron Trilogy==

==Live-action films==

==Animated==

==Prime==

==Rescue Bots==

==Robots in Disguise (2015)==

==Theme songs in other countries==

{{factions|decepticon}}
:''Skyquake is a [[Decepticon]] from the [[Transformers: Prime (franchise)| Prime]] portion of the [[Aligned continuity family]].''

[[Image:SkyquakePrime.jpg|thumb|300px|Ain't he unglamorous?]]

'''Skyquake'''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s loyalties are unlikely to be questioned anytime soon. A Decepticon guardian sent to protect [[Earth]]'s [[energon]] stocks, he is completely loyal to [[Megatron (WFC)|Megatron]]. He will not only obey every order, he will follow them until Megatron says otherwise, regardless of the passage of time. He also possesses a rather short temper towards the disloyal, and is not beyond backhanding even a [[Starscream (WFC)|superior officer]] who gets in the way of Megatron's will. Otherwise, he's actually a polite guy when it comes down to it, even to his targets and foes. He's succinct, and will not mince his words. It's nothing personal, it's just orders from his master.

His split-[[Spark]] [[twin]] brother is the similarly honor-bound [[Dreadwing (Prime)|Dreadwing]]. The two are able to sense each other, even across the galaxy.

He also has [[Unreliable Narratives|a hospital]] named after him. Prematurely, anyway.
[[Image:Masters&Students-MyLittleFriend.jpg|thumb|250px|left|Me and my sandvich, coming to kill you!]]

Millennia ago, during the great war, [[Megatron (WFC)|Megatron]] tasked Skyquake with assassinating [[Optimus Prime (WFC)|Optimus Prime]] at the [[Battle of Technahar]] but Skyquake failed to carry out his mission. He was later one of a number of Decepticon guardians sent to Earth by Megatron when the planet was seeded with Energon. {{storylink|Masters & Students}} He also became the namesake for "Skyquake Pre-Memorial Hospital", though it's unclear whether he ever learned of the hospital's founders anticipating his demise. {{storylink|Unreliable Narratives}}

In the modern era, he was sought out by [[Starscream (WFC)|Starscream]], who needed a strong presence to inspire [[Vehicon (Prime)|his troops]] into believing his reign would be a successful one. However, Skyquake was less amiable to the idea, firmly announcing both his loyalty to Megatron and his lack of faith in Starscream's claims of Megatron's death. Before the pair came to blows, Optimus and [[Bumblebee (WFC)|Bumblebee]] appeared on the scene. Skyquake reminded Prime of their encounter during the Battle of Technar, but Optimus still offered both Decepticons a chance at peace. Starscream showed some interest, as long as Optimus bowed to him, causing a frustrated Skyquake to belt him aside and attack Prime. Bumblebee threw himself into the fray but proved more of a distraction than anything else. He did manage to buy Optimus the time to realize Skyquake still lacked a [[Alternate mode|vehicle mode]].[[Image:Masters&Students-SkyquakeDeceased.jpg|thumb|right|250px|Medic!]] Using the canyon they were battling in to their advantage, the Autobots managed to corner Skyquake. Unfortunately, [[William Fowler|Agent Fowler]] appeared in a [[Fowler's V-tol|high-tech military jet]], which Skyquake immediately [[Scanning|scanned]].

Skyquake quickly dominated the battle until Bumblebee threw himself on the jet and, as Skyquake tried to shake him off, ripped out his internals. Bumblebee jumped onto Fowler's plane as a heavily-injured Skyquake crashed into the ground. After Skyquake closed his optics for possibly one last time, Prime sadly noted how things might have been different, before burying the Decepticon. {{storylink|Masters & Students}} Dreadwing sensed his brother's emergence from stasis and later death. {{storylink|Loose Cannons}}

[[Image:Shadowzone-alone.jpg|left|thumb|300px|I am not ''burned'', just ''scorched.'' Wait...]]

Some time later, Starscream attempted to resurrect Skyquake using the chunk of [[Dark Energon]] that he ripped from Megatron's chest. It worked, and Skyquake rose as a [[Terrorcon (Prime)|zombie]], however a [[GroundBridge]] incident transported him to a strange alternate dimension along with the Autobots' human friends [[Miko Nakadai (Prime)|Miko Nakadai]], [[Jack Darby (Prime)|Jack Darby]] and [[Raf Esquivel]]. After discovering that he couldn't harm the Autobots, who were still in the real world, Skyquake began pursuing the three kids. They managed to find Starscream's arm, left behind during the battle, and used it to shoot Skyquake. This merely resulted in his arm coming off and chasing them. It followed them back through a rescue portal created by [[Ratchet (WFC)|Ratchet]] and briefly assaulted Starscream before he shook it loose. It ran after him again but Starscream GroundBridged himself away. The rest of Skyquake continued to roam the [[shadowzone (dimension)|shadowzone]] and made a vain attempt to repair himself with Starscream's lost arm. {{Storylink|Shadowzone (episode)|Shadowzone}} Megatron wasn't happy about Starscream using the Dark Energon shard that was previously merged with his Spark to bring Skyquake back, among other things. {{storylink|Rock Bottom}}

Dreadwing was drawn to Earth after feeling his twin's death, where Megatron and [[Soundwave (WFC)|Soundwave]] confirmed his loss. Dreadwing swore the Autobots would pay for offlining his brother, though his attempts to gain revenge were unsuccessful. {{storylink|Loose Cannons}} Starscream encountered Dreadwing at the Antarctic, but at first mistook him for Skyquake before being corrected. When Starscream obtained the [[Apex Armor (Prime)|Apex Armor]], he prepared to reunite Dreadwing with his twin before Dreadwing blew a hole in the ice, into which Starscream fell. Optimus Prime expressed his remorse for his part in Skyquake's death and extended the same offer of a place in the Autobot ranks to Dreadwing. {{storylink|Triangulation}} Megatron used the oath Dreadwing swore on Skyquake's demise to get him to open the coffin of a Prime, rather than simply opening it himself. {{storylink|Alpha/Omega}}

While Megatron was using a [[cortical psychic patch]] to interrogate Starscream, Dreadwing finally learned his brother's ultimate fate, roaming the shadow dimension as a zombie, and was more than a little upset that Megatron would withhold that information from him to shield Starscream. {{storylink|Patch (episode)|Patch}} As a result, Dreadwing turned the [[Forge of Solus Prime]] over to the Autobots before attempting to avenge his brother by killing Starscream. However, it was Dreadwing who met his end when Megatron intervened in Starscream's favor. {{storylink|Regeneration (Prime)|Regeneration}}
: Skyquake's wave was pretty much skipped by most US retailers, leaving fans to order him from online outlets or get them from European fans. However, in late spring/early summer of 2013, US [[Toys"R"Us|ToysЯUs]] stores started putting the Skyquake waves on shelves. At one per case, Skyquake was still difficult to come across, but hey, beats his prior distribution!

: His stock photography depicts him with much brighter translucent orange plastic, as well as silver [[paint operation]]s on his shoulder-pads and jet fuselage that were omitted on the final product.
: This mold was also redecoed into ''[[Transformers Timelines (toyline)|Timelines]]'' [[Megaplex (MW)#Timelines|Megaplex]].
{{factions|decepticon}}

Millennia ago, during the great war, [[Megatron (WFC)|Megatron]] tasked Skyquake with assassinating [[Optimus Prime (WFC)|Optimus Prime]] at the [[Battle of Technahar]] but Skyquake failed to carry out his mission. He was later one of a number of Decepticon guardians sent to Earth by Megatron when the planet was seeded with Energon. {{storylink|Masters & Students}} He also became the namesake for "Skyquake Pre-Memorial Hospital", though it's unclear whether he ever learned of the hospital's founders anticipating his demise. {{storylink|Unreliable Narratives}}

He did manage to buy Optimus the time to realize Skyquake still lacked a [[Alternate mode|vehicle mode]].[[Image:Masters&Students-SkyquakeDeceased.jpg|thumb|right|250px|I'm okay.]] Using the canyon they were battling in to their advantage, the Autobots managed to corner Skyquake. Unfortunately, [[William Fowler|Agent Fowler]] appeared in a [[Fowler's V-tol|high-tech military jet]], which Skyquake immediately [[Scanning|scanned]].

Skyquake quickly dominated the battle until Bumblebee threw himself on the jet and, as Skyquake tried to shake him off, ripped out his internals. Bumblebee jumped onto Fowler's plane as a heavily-injured Skyquake crashed into the ground. After Skyquake closed his optics for possibly one last time, Prime sadly noted how things might have been different, before burying the Decepticon. {{storylink|Masters & Students}} Dreadwing sensed his brother's emergence from stasis and later death. {{storylink|Loose Cannons}}

[[Image:Shadowzone-alone.jpg|left|thumb|300px|I am not ''burned'', just ''scorched.'' Wait...]]

Some time later, Starscream attempted to resurrect Skyquake using the chunk of [[Dark Energon]] that he ripped from Megatron's chest. It worked, and Skyquake rose as a [[Terrorcon (Prime)|zombie]], however a [[GroundBridge]] incident transported him to a strange alternate dimension along with the Autobots' human friends [[Miko Nakadai (Prime)|Miko Nakadai]], [[Jack Darby (Prime)|Jack Darby]] and [[Raf Esquivel]]. After discovering that he couldn't harm the Autobots, who were still in the real world, Skyquake began pursuing the three kids. They managed to find Starscream's arm, left behind during the battle, and used it to shoot Skyquake. This merely resulted in his arm coming off and chasing them. It followed them back through a rescue portal created by [[Ratchet (WFC)|Ratchet]] and briefly assaulted Starscream before he shook it loose. It ran after him again but Starscream GroundBridged himself away. The rest of Skyquake continued to roam the [[shadowzone (dimension)|shadowzone]] and made a vain attempt to repair himself with Starscream's lost arm. {{Storylink|Shadowzone (episode)|Shadowzone}} Megatron wasn't happy about Starscream using the Dark Energon shard that was previously merged with his Spark to bring Skyquake back, among other things. {{storylink|Rock Bottom}}

Dreadwing was drawn to Earth after feeling his twin's death, where Megatron and [[Soundwave (WFC)|Soundwave]] confirmed his loss. Dreadwing swore the Autobots would pay for offlining his brother, though his attempts to gain revenge were unsuccessful. {{storylink|Loose Cannons}} Starscream encountered Dreadwing at the Antarctic, but at first mistook him for Skyquake before being corrected. When Starscream obtained the [[Apex Armor (Prime)|Apex Armor]], he prepared to reunite Dreadwing with his twin before Dreadwing blew a hole in the ice, into which Starscream fell. Optimus Prime expressed his remorse for his part in Skyquake's death and extended the same offer of a place in the Autobot ranks to Dreadwing. {{storylink|Triangulation}} Megatron used the oath Dreadwing swore on Skyquake's demise to get him to open the coffin of a Prime, rather than simply opening it himself. {{storylink|Alpha/Omega}}

While Megatron was using a [[cortical psychic patch]] to interrogate Starscream, Dreadwing finally learned his brother's ultimate fate, roaming the shadow dimension as a zombie, and was more than a little upset that Megatron would withhold that information from him to shield Starscream. {{storylink|Patch (episode)|Patch}} As a result, Dreadwing turned the [[Forge of Solus Prime]] over to the Autobots before attempting to avenge his brother by killing Starscream. However, it was Dreadwing who met his end when Megatron intervened in Starscream's favor. {{storylink|Regeneration (Prime)|Regeneration}}
He features translucent plastic on the center of his jet/his back and cockpit-chest, allowing him to be illuminated by the larger Cyberverse sets. He comes with two translucent orange blasters, and both weapons feature multiple [[C joint|3mm post]]s, with one blaster additionally featuring two 3mm post-holes. This allows them to be held with his hands or mounted onto his arms and wings in different ways, store on Skyquake's back, combine with other Cyberverse weapons, as well as combine with each other to form a "Tornado Cannon" that resembles a mini-gun, and can be held with both hands.
