==Synopsis==
Drawing closer to [[Earth]] in their pursuit of the presumed traitor [[Wasp]], [[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|Sentinel Prime]] and [[Jazz (Animated)|Jazz]] are at their stations on the bridge of the [[Elite Guard]]'s ship when [[Shockwave (Animated)|Longarm Prime]] contacts them and demands to know what they are doing in Earth Sector. [[Ultra Magnus (Animated)|Ultra Magnus]] joins the conference call to apologize for not letting Longarm know of the situation, pointing out that they couldn't risk tipping off Wasp when he stands poised to lead them to his Decepticon contact on the planet. Except, as Jazz points out, Wasp isn't headed for the [[Decepticon]]s... he's making a <s>bee</s>waspline for the [[Autobot Earth Base|Autobots' base]]!

In the Autobots' headquarters, [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] is immersed in a game of ''[[Ninja Gladiator]]'' when [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] shuts the television off and reprimands Bumblebee for neglecting his monitor duty. In mid-argument, the base computers detect a [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertronian]] signal nearby, but no other information can be obtained due to interference caused by recent torrential rain. Prime and the other [[Autobot]]s thus have to depart to investigate firsthand. Bumblebee, of course, returns to playing his video game.

The Elite Guard ship touches down in Detroit, and Sentinel and Jazz disembark. Sentinel is immediately disgusted by the notion of liquid falling from the sky, and he finds himself all but incapable of driving on the slick roads, but Jazz just rolls with it.

Back at the base, Bumblebee continues playing games until the base is suddenly plunged into darkness. As the red emergency lights come on, Bumblebee finds himself staring into the all-too-familiar face of Wasp, now sporting an Earth-mode body styled after Bumblebee's own. Bumblebee tries to explain that they had both been set up by Longarm, but the insane Wasp doesn't care. He downs Bumblebee with a blast of his stingers and takes off his own helmet, revealing a wound on the top of his head. Just before passing out, Bumblebee sees Wasp standing over him, holding a strange gun fitted with a glowing green canister and vowing to make Bumblebee lose everything, just like he did...

A little later, Bumblebee awakens to find the other Autobots all staring down at him, including...himself? Looking down at himself, Bumblebee is horrified to discover that Wasp has repainted his armor, swapped their helmets, and exchanged their vocal synthesizers, making each a dead ringer for the other. As Wasp stands there, with Bumblebee's [[battle mask]] "stuck" up, Bumblebee attempts to convince the other Autobots that he is himself, but they aren't sold. When [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]] attempts to [[stasis cuffs|stasis cuff]] him, Bumblebee is forced to shoot out the lights and make a break for it. He zooms out of the plant, right past Sentinel Prime and Jazz, who intercept Prime and the other Autobots when they try to pursue him. Sentinel demands to know why Optimus's Autobots haven't checked in in so long, but when Optimus tries to explain, Sentinel refuses to listen, informing them he is here to bring in Wasp...who, Optimus points out, just drove right past him. Sentinel ignores Optimus when he tries to tell him that Longarm is the real traitor, and departs immediately to hunt down "Wasp". Optimus instructs his Autobots to locate Wasp first, and they head out to search, while the true Wasp tells them he will stay behind in case Bumblebee comes back.

On Cybertron, Shockwave desperately makes another attempt to contact the missing [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]]. He transmits a message to him alerting him to the direness of the situation, adding that Shockwave is about to take matters into his own hands...

Back on Earth, Optimus and Ratchet are discussing how odd "Bumblebee" has been behaving when two jets suddenly come roaring by overhead. Knowing that no organic could pilot a plane the way these two crafts fly, the two Autobots assume they are dealing with Decepticons and zoom after them in hot pursuit. The two jets soon track down "Wasp", who is desperately attempting to rub his green paint off with a discarded couch cushion, and transform to robot mode to attack him with blasts of flame and roaring hurricane winds. Ratchet and Optimus arrive to hold off these apparent Decepticons, who reveal a remarkable power to combine into [[Safeguard (Animated)|one mighty robot]], but before the fighting can get too intense, Sentinel and Jazz arrive to reveal that these two are, in fact, Autobots! Sentinel introduces [[Jetfire (Animated)|Jetfire]] and [[Jetstorm (Animated)|Jetstorm]], Elite Guard warriors created using specs from [[Starscream (Animated)|Starscream]], and orders the duo to resume their mission.

In the Autobots' base, Wasp is playing (and losing) ''Ninja Gladiator'', and he decides that he could get used to being Bumblebee. In order to complete the illusion, Wasp scans the Autobots' computer files, so that he can learn everything about Bumblebee and better pass himself off as his old rival.

Racing through the city streets, Bumblebee discovers a hot dog cart and desperate tries slathering his armor in mustard to make him look more like himself. He is caught in the act by [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]] and [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]], but he is finally able to convince Bulkhead of his true identity when he tells him something only he could know: namely, that he took the blame for Bulkhead knocking a tower over on Sentinel Prime at [[Autobot boot camp|boot camp]]. Jetfire and Jetstorm arrive just in time to witness this happy scene, but get the wrong end of the stick and assume that Bulkhead and Prowl are traitors as well! The twins report this to Sentinel, and he, Optimus, Jazz and Ratchet head for their position, with Sentinel obstinately refusing to listen to Optimus's attempts to explain the numerous misunderstandings that have happened. When everyone reunites, Bulkhead explains that Bumblebee is definitely Bumblebee, and Optimus orders everyone back to the plant to straighten everything out.

A little later, back at the plant, Wasp cheerily denies Bumblebee's accusations, using the information he has gleaned from the Autobots' files to "prove" he is who he claims. When interrogation yields no results, Bulkhead comes up with the best way to figure out who's who: a versus match on ''Ninja Gladiator''! Before the game even starts, Wasp chokes and grabs Bumblebee, holding his stinger to 'Bee's neck. Wasp insists that he was always a good bot, but Bulkhead says that isn't true; he might not be a traitor, but he was always mean to Bulkhead and Bumblebee and was hardly good. Wasp blasts out the lights to cover his escape, and when the emergency lights kick in, both Wasp and Bumblebee are gone.

The Autobots head outside, where they spot what looks like Bumblebee lying on the ground. Bulkhead assumes it is Wasp and leaps upon the prone figure, pummeling him and ripping off his helmet... only to find out that it really is Bumblebee underneath. Prowl examines Bumblebee's helmet and discovers that their colors were switched so quickly because Wasp had hit him with an [[electronic paint job]] that he could turn off with the press of a button. As things begin to calm down, the truth of the whole matter hits Jazz—if Wasp really was innocent, that means that Longarm Prime really is a Decepticon spy!

Sometime later, on Cybertron, [[Ironhide (Animated)|Ironhide]] is searching for Longarm in order to apprehend him. Entering the council chamber, Ironhide is horrified to discover the mangled, barely-alive body of Ultra Magnus. He asks the Supreme Commander where [[Magnus Hammer|his hammer]] is and who was responsible. Before collapsing, Ultra Magnus manages to choke out, "Shock...wave..."

* Optimus Prime's right arm, after he turns off the TV, is at a weird angle.
*When Bulkhead knocks Jetfire back, Jazz (who isn't even ''there'' yet), instead of Jetstorm, is standing next to Bumblebee.
*When Wasp is playing Bumblebee's video game (and liking it), the characters on screen switch sides as he loses.
**Likely, the characters got repositioned during a move or combo, which happens all the time in fighting games.
*Oddly, for a cartoon that tries to stay close to the transformation of the actual toys, Safeguard's transformation is nothing like the toy.
*When Wasp is on his own playing ''Ninja Gladiator'' and later, when he breaks character near the end, he has his original voice. How come Bumblebee couldn't do that?
*For that matter, after Wasp leaves Bumblebee behind, he has his original voice back too. Bumblebee is also still sporting a yellow version of Wasp's helmet.
*At certain points in the episode, Wasp (as Bumblebee) and Bumblebee (as Wasp) wear the design of their false identity's thighs.

*This isn't an ''error'' as such, but just when did Wasp get an identical Earth form to Bumblebee's? And perhaps more to the point, ''how'' did he change form - both Optimus' crew and the Elite Guard reformatted on their well-equipped ships. Wasp was last seen beside a space bridge with no ship of any kind. Though it's possible that Wasp has the same ability as [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]] and [[Lugnut (Animated)|Lugnut]] to scan and adapt [[alternate mode]]s on his own.
*Given how close Ratchet is to [[Omega Supreme (Animated)|Omega Supreme]] you'd think he'd know better than to say "no Autobot flies."
*After Jetfire is punched by Bulkhead, Jetfire lands next to what appears Jazz and Bumblebee. Jazz is seen in the next scene driving with Optimus and Sentinel.

*We last saw Wasp in "[[Autoboot Camp]]", to which this episode is essentially a sequel. A brief flashback from the episode is shown after Bumblebee says he "took the rap" for Bulkhead for what happened to Sentinel Prime. In an attempt to maintain his ruse, Wasp also mentions all the things that Bumblebee had done then which accidentally embarrassed Sentinel Prime. He also mentions the events in "[[SUV: Society of Ultimate Villainy]]".
* Optimus' Autobots discovered that Wasp wasn't guilty in "[[A Bridge Too Close, Part II]]".

*Wasp has purple eyes, which were visible even with Bumblebee's battle mask up, and retained the striped design on his thighs. Bumblebee still had his blue eyes and other retained properties. The Autobots didn't notice this because...?
*You could ask the same question regarding the Jet twins. Although their Elite Guard insignias are on their hips, Optimus and Ratchet should have seen the insignia on their shoulders when they merged into Safeguard.
*Not to mention that Optimus and Ratchet have very obvious Autobot symbols. Why didn't the twins try to introduce themselves before diving into battle with them? Of course, if Sentinel trained them, they might be bigger jerks than we realize and just assumed them traitors.
*When Bulkhead runs into the green Bumblebee in the street, Bumblebee puts his hands in the air to surrender and starts wailing that he's Bumblebee. Bulkhead ''knows'' Wasp was framed, locked up in the stockade for years, may well be traumatised, and has not as yet EVER actually hurt anybody, but he still starts swinging his wrecking ball with intent to pummel. Later on when Wasp is revealed and uses Bumblebee as a shield, Bulkhead starts telling the ''frightened and angry'' mech that he was "never a good bot." And when Wasp runs off ''without hurting anybody,'' and Bulkhead sees a yellow mech lying outside face down and motionless, he instantly attacks what he thinks is Wasp. This episode doesn't do anything for Bulkhead's rep as an Autobot ''at all.''

'''Alpha Trion''' is one of the oldest living Transformers, and with that age comes a nuanced understanding of his race and their place within the universe. In his youth, he went by the name '''A-3''', and in this time, he helped lead the enslaved Cybertronians in their rebellion against their cruel masters, the [[Quintesson]]s. As a result, he was instrumental in first establishing [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] as an independent planet.

In his older years, he has found a comfortable role in serving as advisor to other Transformers. 11 million years ago, a mechanoid named A-3 was part of the [[Autobot Rebellion|rebellion]] against the [[Quintesson]]s on a [[Cybertron (planet)|factory world]], creating a device called the [[Coder Remote]] that would stop their [[Dark Guardian]]s. Due to a timerift created by Quintessons from the future, he was briefly pulled from his position in the [[Empty Lands]] into the year 2006. Fortunately, his partner [[Beta (G1)|Beta]] managed to start the rebellion as scheduled, and A-3 was soon returned by future [[Autobot]]s to fulfill his role in Cybertronian history. {{storylink|Forever Is a Long Time Coming (episode)|Forever Is a Long Time Coming}}

Years later, he would be given the [[Matrix of Leadership]] by the dying [[Sentinel Prime (G1)|Sentinel Prime]], but Alpha Trion himself did not become Autobot leader. It would sit in his possession, unused, until the coming of the next Autobot leader. {{storylink|Five Faces of Darkness, Part 4}} In the meantime, Alpha Trion developed plans to rebuild Autobots to better combat the escalating [[Decepticon]] menace.

The next Autobot leader would actually come to ''him'' when a [[Aerialbot (G1)|group of time-travelers]] lugged a dying youth named Orion Pax to his repair center. Reluctant at first, Alpha Trion sensed a strong spirit in Orion Pax, and decided to rebuild him entirely... into [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Optimus Prime]]. When Prime asked if Alpha Trion could rebuild his fallen girlfriend Ariel as well, Alpha Trion agreed, and mused that [[Elita One (G1)|Elita One]] would be a good name for a female warrior. {{storylink|War Dawn (episode)|War Dawn}}

Over the intervening millennia, Alpha Trion's two greatest creations, whether by design or coincidence, forgot their relationship to the ancient Autobot. Five million years after his creation, Optimus Prime was lost when his spacecraft crash-landed on prehistoric Earth, but Alpha Trion kept in contact with Elita One, acting as a sagely advisor to her team of [[Female Autobots]] as they spent the following four million years stealing [[energon]] from [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]]. Eventually, in the Earth year 1985, Shockwave caught the Female Autobots in the act and tracked them back to their headquarters, prompting Elita One to consult with Alpha Trion on a course of action. Trion suggested they move their headquarters, telling Elita to scout for a new location alone, but in the event that she encountered the Decepticons, warned her not to use her life-draining time-freezing power. Alas, Elita was captured, and used by the Decepticons to lure Optimus Prime into a trap. To save her beloved's life, Elita used her fatal power, and the Autobot leader was forced to track Alpha Trion to [[Alpha Trion's base‎|his secret base]] in hopes that he could save her. Alpha Trion repaired her to the best of his ability, but revealed to Optimus Prime that only Prime could save Elita by interfacing to her with his power filter. A short time later, while he was looking for a [[10.2 ultra-drill|misplaced tool]], Alpha Trion was attacked in his workshop by [[Megatron (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Megatron]] and his Decepticons, who demanded that he hand over the [[Key to Vector Sigma]]. Trion pled ignorance, but Megatron knew better, and the elderly Autobot was soon overpowered while the Decepticons made off with the key. Alpha Trion was rescued from the chunk of metal the Decepticons left him stuck in by Optimus Prime and the Autobots, and after his injuries were repaired by [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]] and [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]], he journeyed with them into Cybertron's depths, leading the way to Vector Sigma's chamber. Their way, however, was barred by [[Centurion droid]]s that Megatron used the Key to command, and Alpha Trion helped reactivate some discarded worker robots to fight the droids off. The droids had done their job, however, and prevented the Autobots from reaching Megatron before he used Vector Sigma to bring his newest Decepticons, the [[Stunticon (G1)|Stunticons]] to life. To combat these new land-based Decepticons, Optimus Prime hit on the idea of creating some new aerial Autobots, and Alpha Trion set to work reconstructing some Cybertronian aircraft. {{storylink|The Key to Vector Sigma, Part 1}} When the work was done, Alpha Trion professed that he had another key to Vector Sigma "on him," and he would use it to reactivate the computer so that it could bring the jets to life. His "key," however, was his own life force: as a first generation product of Vector Sigma, his computation matrix could interface with the computer and bring it back online, at the cost of his own continued existence. Optimus Prime tried to stop him, but Alpha Trion refused to listen, reminding Prime that he was his creator and insisting that the jets were more important that he was. Prime relented, and Alpha Trion merged with Vector Sigma, which activated and brought the new [[Aerialbot (G1)|Aerialbots]] to life. Many years later, when the [[Hate Plague]] was raging throughout the universe in the year 2006, Optimus Prime entered the Matrix to consult the ancient Autobots within on a possible cure. The following year, after the Decepticons stole the [[Key to the Plasma Energy Chamber]], Optimus Prime used the Matrix to reactivate Vector Sigma so that he could converse with Alpha Trion, hoping that the old sage knew something more about what was going on. In the year 2011, one year after Optimus Prime released the energy of the Matrix to cure the Hate Plague, Vector Sigma began to destabilize as a result. Optimus Prime voyaged into the planet's depths to try and bring the computer back under control, but the mission seemed doomed to failure, as he did not have the Matrix to help him. While the other Autobots searched Earth for the Matrix, which had been hidden away to recharge, the spectral form of Alpha Trion appeared to Optimus Prime to help lead him through the many dangers blocking the path to Vector Sigma's chamber. {{storylink|The Mystery of Planet Master}} When they finally reached their goal, however, it turned out the Decepticons had beaten them there. After the ''[[Van De Graaff]]'' was shot down on [[Beta-Nine]], the proemial Alpha Unit of the [[Cybertron Elite Guard|Elite Guard]] managed to retrieve its cargo. The [[Matrix of Leadership|mysterious item]] was then delivered by [[Magnum]] to its custodian, Alpha Trion. {{storylink|Wings of Honor}}

Over the next ten years, the Decepticon insurrection became more fierce. Councilor Magnum continued to champion his Elite Guard, a series of strike teams dedicated to hunting down the [[Decepticon Warlord]]s to cut the many heads off the serpent. Councilor Alpha Trion, however, favored his own Prime Initiative, a general of sorts who would oversee the entire Autobot army as a unified force against the Decepticons. {{Storylink|The Coming Storm: Part 2}}

Despite their political differences, Alpha Trion and Magnum worked together as the situation called for it. When a group of civilian scientists and historians needed demolitions assistance at a dig site in [[Median]], Alpha Trion requested the help of Magnum's Elite Guard for the job. After [[Dion (G1)|Dion]] and [[Magnum]] were injured in a Decepticon attack, they were taken to Alpha Trion. As the war drained Cybertron's energy to dangerously low levels, Optimus left the planet on a mission to find more energy. Alpha Trion prepared stasis pods within which most of the remaining Autobot population would hibernate. During [[Megatron (BW)|Megatron]]'s rule of Cybertron, Alpha Trion was seemingly resurrected and/or reformatted as a lion by the [[Oracle (BM)|Oracle]] to guide [[Primal Prime]] and his [[Wrecker]] in much the same way as he aided many previous Autobot leaders. {{storylink|Departure}} It is unclear whether this new form ever existed physically; its only appearance was as a vision in Primal Prime's head. {{storylink|Betrayal}} The ancient Autobot reached out and made contact with Primal Prime's spark, but his messages came through garbled and incomplete. Alpha Trion did not make a physical appearance after this enigmatic reintroduction until [[Unicron]] posed a new threat to the balance of the multiverse. Alpha Trion, though technically still merged with [[Primus]]/[[Vector Sigma]]/Whatever, was again in his original body (but now with a cape!). He/they pulled Cybertron's greatest hero, [[Optimus Primal (BW)/Beast Wars cartoon continuity|Optimus Primal]], back from the dead in order to rescue recently abducted Cybertronians from the center of the Chaos Bringer. {{storylink|Abduction}}

Thoug Primal was at first taken aback by the enormity of the task he had been assigned, Alpha Trion's pontification goaded him on in accepting the mission. When Primal succeeded at this monumental task, {{storylink|Escape (Universe)|Escape}} he confronted the [[Maximal Elder]]s with one of his overblown speeches and was thrown in jail. Alpha Trion sent [[Snarl (BM)|Snarl]] to stage a small rescue of his own, and Primal was returned to the center of Cybertron. Here, Alpha Trion presented Primal with a window into the past, present, and future of the [[Transformers afterlife|Allspark]], from which he could pluck any warrior, whether they be living or dead. Alpha Trion quieted Primal's disappointment, letting Depthcharge go, expecting him to return of his own accord. Eons ago, Alpha Trion kept watch over the Transformers when Primus entered his eternal sleep to hide Cybertron from Unicron. However, a nomadic alien race eventually conquered Cybertron, and Alpha Trion was forced into hiding. Thousands of Transformers were slaughtered, and Alpha Trion was unable to act. {{storylink|Transformers: The Ultimate Guide}} Alpha Trion performed actions that would make him known as the savior of his race. {{storylink|Cold War (issue)|Cold War}}

Alpha Trion was attached to the supercomputer Vector Sigma, and was its caretaker from the [[Golden Age]] to the [[Great War (G1)|Great War]]. He was considered the only Transformer capable of accessing all of the computer's functions. Alpha Trion would join forces with four other Primes: [[Alchemist Prime|Alchemist]], [[Vector Prime|Vector]], [[Solus Prime|Solus]], and [[Nexus Prime]], and together they established a village they called the [[Crystal City]]. As a storyteller and keeper of legends, Trion encouraged the tribes to work together by regaling them with tales of [[Primus]] and the [[Guiding Hand]], believing that the kernels of truth passed down through his tales could inspire others to perform great deeds.

Their early efforts were threatened by the advancing armies of the [[Darklands]]; shortly after the Darklanders slaughtered [[Septimus Prime]] and sacked [[Protihex|Protohex]], another Prime, going by the name of "[[Onyx Prime|Onyx]]," arrived to propose an alliance, bringing with him his comrade [[Liege Maximo]] and an army of [[Beast mode|bestial]] warriors. "Onyx" professed scorn for Trion's belief in the Guiding Hand, but Trion spoke to him privately and made him see the inspirational power that his stories possessed. Onyx pressed him to convince the other Primes into allying with him; once united, their forces took to the field against the Darklanders. As the battle raged, events took an unexpected turn when three [[Titan (IDW)|Titans]] emerged from the depths of the planet. In the impromptu ceasefire, Onyx was able to reach the enemy leader [[The Fallen|Megatronus]] and convince him to lay down arms and agree to a proper truce. {{storylink|Origin Myths}}

The other Primes never learned the truth about Onyx Prime: the bestial Prime was an identity of convenience assumed by a time-travelling [[Shockwave (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Shockwave]]; using Megatronus as a catspaw, he had deliberately engineered the war between the Darklanders and the Crystal City in order to bring the Primes together under a single banner, one of many historical paradoxes he would engineer using his foreknowledge of Cybertron's long history. {{storylink|The Falling, Interlude: The First Who Was Named|The First Who Was Named}}

In the ensuing celebration, Trion soon became wary of his new ally: "Onyx" had begun telling "stories" of his own, thus seeding history with more paradoxes, including the "[[Dark Cybertron (prophecy)|Dark Cybertron]]" prophecy that his younger self would one day study and attempt to bring about. Trion's concerns were echoed by the Darklander warrior [[Arcee (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Arcee]], who believed that the Primes would eventually grow drunk on their own superiority and become tyrants. Determined to see as much as his planet as he could before it all changed, Trion befriended the Titan [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]], and the pair set off to explore and chart Cybertron. {{storylink|Omega's Conundrum}} Over the next two million years, the initial coalition of Primes were joined by five more, and thus united the Primes became the alliance known as the [[Thirteen]], led by [[Prima]]. {{storylink|Heavy}} In the ensuing era of peace, Trion became known as "The Trion" and developed his famed reputation for storytelling. {{storylink|The Falling, Chapter 1: Surfeit of Primes|Surfeit of Primes}} Other Primes had grown arrogant, however and began spreading rumors that only a Prime could kill another Prime, to ensure their reign would last forever. {{storylink|The Crucible}} None of the twelve Primes ever suspected that "Onyx Prime" had continued to manipulate them, and, as he had once brought them together, planned to tear them apart once more. Indeed, "Onyx" soon realized that he could permanently keep Trion's suspicions at bay simply by spinning one convincing story after another.

"Onyx" set his plans in motion by encouraging Prima to commission an interstellar mission of goodwill, designed to share the "enlightened" civilization of Cybertron with their neighbors. Alpha Trion joined the voyage as its official record-keeper, and joined by [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]] and his [[Guardian robot|Omega Sentinels]], the Cybertronian expedition set off. Their peaceful voyage ended in disaster, however: the inhabitants of the first world they visited were hostile, and took up arms against the Transformers. Over the course of this brief war, "Onyx" — despite Trion's misgivings — announced that this world now belonged to Alpha Trion, the first of Cybertron's thirteen "colonies."

On returning to Cybertron, "Onyx" continued to secretly sow discord, and manipulated events so that a furious Megatronus would slay [[Solus Prime]] in an attempted coup against Prima. Alpha Trion agreed that Liege Maximo, who had seemingly masterminded the coup that had led to her death, had forfeited his right to live on Cybertron and watched as his fellow Primes imprisoned Liege Maximo aboard [[Vigilem]].

Determined to bring Solus Prime's killer to justice, Alpha Trion joined "Onyx" and Prima aboard Prima's Titan, [[Emissary (IDW)|Emissary]]. The three Primes tracked Megatronus to the barren world of [[Tsiehshi]], but Trion stayed behind while the other two Primes went to confront Megatronus in a final duel. Only "Onyx Prime" returned, informing the record-keeper that Prima had sacrificed himself to end Megatronus's life. The reality was more complicated, however: "Onyx" had simply let Megatronus kill Prima, then, his usefulness at an end, killed Megatronus. Trion was once more swayed by "Onyx Prime's" well-told tale, and so this account became the "official" version of events that would find its way into the chronicles of Cybertron... and thus, the inspiration for the lie that the time-travelling Shockwave used to cover up the truth.

Returning to Cybertron, Trion and the five remaining Primes watched as Emissary interred Prima's remains within his body and left Cybertron, unaware that his systems had been sabotaged by "Onyx." {{storylink|The Falling, Interlude: The First Who Was Named|The First Who Was Named}} With the Primes reduced in number and divided from within, they and their followers soon fell to war with one another in the [[First Cybertronian Civil War]], {{storylink|Heavy}} the outcome Shockwave had been aiming for for all along. {{storylink|The Falling, Interlude: The First Who Was Named|The First Who Was Named}} Trion was not an active participant in the war, instead hoping to find a way to end the conflict as bloodlessly as possible. When the warrior [[Galvatron (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Galvatron]] slaughtered [[Nexus Prime]] and dispelled the rumors that the Primes were immortal, fear for their own safety prompted the last of the Primes to flee Cybertron, one by one, until only Alpha Trion remained. {{storylink|The Crucible}}

Determined to bring the war to an end, Alpha Trion approached Galvatron during the [[Battle of Aegiax]] to request his help in bringing peace to Cybertron — promising the bloodthirsty barbarian whatever he wanted in exchange. {{storylink|Earthfall Chapter 3: The Mind Bomb|The Mind Bomb}} Trion led Galvatron to the [[Citadel of Light]], former home of [[Prima]] and his tribe, and watched Galvatron and Prima's last follower [[Nova Prime|Nova Major]] defeat the remnants of Onyx Prime's forces. When the battle was won, Alpha Trion introduced himself to Nova, who was not quick to believe Trion's claim to Primehood until Trion pummeled him into submission. Together, the trio made for "Onyx Prime's" castle in [[Kalis]] to verify Trion's belief that the other Primes had disappeared. Their way into the castle was barred by the sole remaining warrior, [[Rhinox (BW)|Rhinox of the Mournsong]], but he was quickly intimidated into letting them pass. Discovering that "Onyx" had indeed vanished, Nova announced his plan to take control of Cybertron and unify its tribes, and Alpha Trion, feeling this was the best course of action for Cybertron's people, gladly stood aside and let Nova assume the title of Prime.

After taking control of Cybertron, Nova directed his attention to decoding the secrets of the Thirteen, beginning with Nexus Prime's Enigma of Combination. Galvatron was the only one of them who ''didn't'' want to uncover the Enigma, and continually insisted that the Enigma was gone, just like its creator. Trion became curious by Galvatron's claims and pointed out that everyone ''except'' Galvatron talked of the Enigma as if it were merely a concept, but Galvatron spoke of it as a physical object. One look in Galvatron's eyes provided Alpha with all the explanation he needed to arrive at the answer. {{storylink|The Crucible}}

Over the next few million years, Allpha Trion was content to let himself fade into the background of Cybertronian life, allowing himself to be "forgotten" after the disastrous fall of the Primes. {{storylink|The Crucible}} When Nova Prime and his crew — which included Galvatron — departed Cybertron six million years ago, Alpha Trion blessed their starship, the ''[[Ark (G1)|Ark]]''. {{storylink|Dark Dawn: Dark Cybertron Chapter 1|Dark Dawn}} Following the disappearance of the ''Ark'', memorial lectures were held in honor of Nova, during which Alpha Trion gave a speech about [[Primus]]. {{storylink|Primus: You, Me, and Other Revelations}} Alpha Trion's various compendiums regarding the early histories of Cybertron were of interest to the younger Senator [[Shockwave (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Shockwave]], and thus would go on to form the basis for many of "Onyx Prime's" manipulations to the timeline. {{storylink|The Falling, Interlude: The First Who Was Named|The First Who Was Named}}

Nova Prime, thought dead, would eventually be supplanted by [[Nominus Prime]], and, later, [[Sentinel Prime (G1)|Sentinel Prime]]. Unaware that Sentinel Prime was a false identity constructed by the ancient [[Titan Master]] [[Infinitus]], Alpha Trion was known to have stood up against "Sentinel Prime's" increasingly fascistic ideals. {{storylink|White Light}} Four million years ago, as [[Megatron (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Megatron]]'s [[Decepticon]] uprising took shape, Alpha Trion attended the funerals of [[Bumper (G1)|Bumper]] and [[Fastback (G1)|Fastback]]. {{storylink|Megatron Origin issue 3|Megatron Origin #3}}

Because of Alpha Trion's intimate knowledge of Cybertron's surface, he accompanied Orion Pax and [[Nightbeat (G1)|Nightbeat]] on a mission into the treacherous [[Rust Sea|Rust Spot]] to swap Decepticon prisoners for the captured [[Ratchet (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Ratchet]]. This was merely a ruse to draw out Alpha Trion, who the Decepticons wanted in order to help locate Metroplex. Due to Orion Pax's valiant actions, Alpha Trion and the other Autobots escaped with their lives. {{storylink|Omega's Conundrum}} The Autobots did get something out of Alpha Trion though; confirmation that the Titans were indeed real. {{storylink|The Hunting Party (IDW)|The Hunting Party}}

Once Orion Pax had become Optimus Prime, he broadcast a message to all Cybertronians, asking them to join him in the fight against the Decepticons and beginning the [[Great War (G1)|Great War]]. Alpha Trion watched this broadcast with interest from the archives of [[Kutanzuule]]. {{storylink|Broadcast}} He soon came in contact with the young Prime to offer him advice and guidance in his early days as Autobot leader. {{storylink|Derelicts}} When Optimus blamed himself for being unable to stop the [[Exodus (G1)|Exodus]], Alpha Trion assured him that sometimes a leader's role was to let their followers go and make their own decisions. {{storylink|The Illusion of Control}} Alpha Trion was surprised when Optimus rediscovered the long lost [[Omega Supreme (G1)|Omega Supreme]], and advised him to accept that the ancient guardian would not easily reintegrate into society. {{storylink|Primacy issue 2|Primacy #2}}

500,000 years ago, Alpha Trion chose to leave Cybertron together with Metroplex, partly to keep the Titan and his technology out of Decepticon hands, but also to investigate [[Shockwave (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Shockwave]]'s [[Regenesis]] plan. {{storylink|Earthfall Part 1: Hello Cruel World|Hello Cruel World}} After exploring space for millennia, Alpha Trion came to realize that Shockwave had not seeded his miraculous ores randomly — each had been sent to a planet that Shockwave believed one of the Thirteen had gone after they had fled Cybertron, and the thirteenth planet was the resting place of the Enigma of Combination. {{storylink|The Crucible}}

The pair briefly returned to Cybertron in [[1997]]; by this point, the planet had been rendered virtually uninhabitable by war, and so Trion began trying to restore it. Operating out of Metroplex, Trion spent the next decade processing the corrosive elements out of Cybertron's atmosphere, slowly making it habitable again. After 2008, the problem was compounded by a monstrous [[Insecticon swarm]] that had overrun the planet. Requiring the toughest of the tough to obliterate the swarm, Alpha Trion selected [[Ironhide (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Ironhide]] to do the job.

That Ironhide was across the galaxy on Earth mattered little: Ironhide would eventually die some day, Trion rationalized, and so he built a duplicate body on Cybertron into which he could implant Ironhide's spark and memories once he passed on and returned to the "[[Transformer afterlife|core]]". With Vector Sigma having been essentially erased in the event that devastated Cybertron, this took Alpha Trion years and pushed his skills to their limit, but once Ironhide died on Earth in 2010, the ancient Autobot's grand work was complete, and Ironhide returned to life on Cybertron in the new body constructed for him. {{storylink|Any Old Iron}}

Ironhide awoke in confusion, his memories incomplete due to damage he had suffered millions of years beforehand that had disrupted his link to the core, and wandered Cybertron's wastes until Alpha Trion dispatched his [[Scamper|page]] to bring the befuddled warrior to Metroplex's city mode. Alpha Trion took umbrage at the fact Ironhide had never heard of his ancient greatness, and revealed his incredible powers over his own electromagnetic aura by using it to control Ironhide's actions when the ornery Autobot started to get a little rough. Ironhide further tested Trion's patience when he ignored his cautions and ventured out to track down the near-dead [[Sunstreaker (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Sunstreaker]] (even if Sunstreaker ''had'' heard of him). Finally, Trion relented to Ironhide's constant questioning and explained the reason he had brought him back online: to exterminate the swarm. {{storylink|Ironing Out the Details}} While Ironhide took out of most of the swarm in a brutal battle, Trion busied himself repairing Sunstreaker. After Ironhide returned, Trion announced that he and Metroplex were leaving Cybertron for parts unknown while Ironhide mopped up the remaining Insecticons. Infuriated by the old 'bots condescending attitude, Ironhide slugged him one, but Alpha Trion let it slide, putting Ironhide in his place by telling him he was just a small playing piece in a very large game. Before departing, however, Alpha Trion softened, congratulating Ironhide on saving the entire planet. After all, the only other Autobot would could make that claim... was he. {{storylink|Any Old Iron}}

In 2012, Alpha Trion finally deduced that the Enigma of Combination had landed on [[Earth]]. Hoping to recover it before Shockwave could harness its power for his own ends, {{storylink|The Crucible}} Trion left Metroplex to fend off the next stage of Shockwave's ultimate plan by himself. Trion set course for Earth to retrieve what he called the "holy grail," and was thus unable to turn back and help when his Titan companion was infected with an [[alchemical virus]]. After crossing paths with the ''[[Vis Vitalis]]'', he convinced [[Thunder Clash|Thunderclash]]'s [[Caminus|Camien]] associates, [[Cityspeaker]] [[Windblade (G1)|Windblade]] and her compatriots [[Chromia (G1)|Chromia]] and [[Nautica (G1)|Nautica]], to use their [[Cityspeaker|cityspeaking]] skils to aid the Titan in his place. {{storylink|Burning Bright: Dark Cybertron Chapter 8|Burning Bright}} {{storylink|A 'Bot and Her City}} Alpha Trion also tasked the three with delivering a simple message for Optimus Prime: "Earth." {{storylink|Earthfall Part 1: Hello Cruel World|Hello Cruel World}}

Alpha Trion made it to Earth shortly before Shockwave enacted the final stage of his plan; unfortunately for him, however, his ship was shot down by the [[Earth Defense Command]], {{storylink|The Crucible}} and both he and his vessel were interred at the EDC's primary headquarters in the [[Marshall Islands|Bikini Atoll]] for study. {{storylink|Earthfall Chapter 4: Full Fathom Five|Full Fathom Five}} After finally meeting Optimus in person, Windblade passed Trion's message along and Optimus and a group of Autobots travelled to Earth to find him. {{storylink|Earthfall Part 1: Hello Cruel World|Hello Cruel World}}

A month later, [[Jazz (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Jazz]] infiltrated the EDC base and stumbled on him while investigating the EDC's use of Cybertronian tech. {{storylink|Earthfall Chapter 4: Full Fathom Five|Full Fathom Five}} Knowing he was hooked up to an alarm and that the EDC's "[[mind bomb]]" couldn't have been created from just ''his'' brain, [[Prowl (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Prowl]] stopped Jazz from rescuing Alpha Trion immediately in order to investigate further. After deactivating the alarms they took Alpha Trion and fled on [[Sky Lynx (G1)|Sky Lynx]], where a merry Trion's reunion with Optimus Prime was cut short by a coughing fit, prompting [[Jetfire (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Jetfire]] to take him away and have a look at his injuries. {{storylink|Earthfall Chapter 5: I Dream of Wires|I Dream of Wires}}

Alpha Trion had Optimus Prime take him to the [[Moon (moon)|moon]], away from prying ears, to share with him why Earth was so important. He told the story about how he brought Galvatron and Nova Prime together, shocking and angering Optimus with the fact that he was one of the Thirteen Primes and let Nova Prime's reign happen, before revealing the presence of the Enigma of Combination on Earth. {{storylink|The Crucible}} They subsequently returned to the ''[[Ark-7]]'', where Jetfire found their trip had worsened Alpha Trion's condition and admonished Prime. When Prime then returned to Cybertron for what he claimed were political reasons, Trion poked fun at him until he admitted he also had a personal reason, namely the anniversary of him becoming Prime. {{storylink|Onyx Interface Part One: Signals, Calls, and Marches|Signals, Calls, and Marches}}

When the ''Ark-7'' came under attack and the Autobots lost control of the ship, Alpha Trion recognized why—its computers had been infected with the source code of the Enigma of Combination. {{storylink|The Nothing Man}} Joining [[Sideswipe (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Sideswipe]] and [[Arcee (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Arcee]] as they fought their way through the ship's defenses towards its [[Space bridge|spacebridge]], Trion described the Enigma as one of the "metaphors made real" devised by the ancient Primes and that normal Transformers couldn't fight against it. {{storylink|Conquerors Part 1: Aphelion|Aphelion}} They reached their goal only to be greeted by a group of Decepticons who'd arrived through the spacebridge to capture the ship, {{storylink|Conquerors Part 2: Lagrange|Lagrange}} prompting Sideswipe to hide the still injured Alpha Trion away from harm in a storage compartment. {{storylink|Conquerors Part 4: Perihelion|Perihelion}}

After the Decepticons had crashed the ship onto Earth, Trion and the others were recovered by Optimus Prime's forces. Once they'd relocated, he was shocked to hear that Optimus had started a war with Earth in an attempt to annex it, and wondered what his plan was now. {{storylink|All Hail Optimus Part 1: Once Upon a Time on Earth|Once Upon a Time on Earth}} He was present when Optimus returned after an ill-fated confrontation between [[Aileron]] and the [[President of the United States]]. {{storylink|All Hail Optimus Part 2: Edge of the Earth|Edge of the Earth}} When the Autobots joined forces with [[Soundwave (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Soundwave]]'s Decepticons against Galvatron, Alpha Trion's status as another Prime distressed Soundwave. He remained at their [[Monument Valley]] base caring for [[Buster (IDW)|Buster]] during the actual attack, but an attack on ''them'' by the humans caused the dog to run off with [[D.0.C.]] {{storylink|All Hail Optimus Part 4: It's Beginning To And Back Again|It's Beginning To And Back Again}} As the battle raged on, Alpha Trion encouraged Optimus Prime to search within himself for the reason he had chosen this particular valley as their base, which led to Optimus realizing [[Metrotitan (Zone)|Metrotitan]] was hidden beneath the surface and awakening him. {{storylink|All Hail Optimus Part 5: As Above...So Below|As Above...So Below}}

Alpha Trion watched Metrotitan transform into [[Autobot City (G1)|Autobot City]], the Cybertronian embassy on Earth. {{storylink|All Hail Optimus Part 6: No Fair Fights|No Fair Fights}} After this he sought another Prime-to-Prime talk with Optimus, but Optimus postponed it in favor of having him coordinate the aftermath of the battle with Galvatron's soldiers. {{storylink|The Last Autobot}}

While resting at Autobot City, Alpha Trion was confronted by a diminutive Cybertronian who introduced himself as "[[Infinitus]]", decrying Trion as the weakest of the original [[Thirteen]]. Alpha Trion was confused by Infinitus, but as the interloper pontificated about his plan to wipe Cybertron clean of "vermin" and return it to its [[Golden Age]], Alpha Trion realized that his visitor was none other than the 'bot he had once known as [[Sentinel Prime (G1)|Sentinel Prime]]! Sentinel Prime deployed a set of blades from his forearms and pounced on Trion, decapitating him. While Optimus and Soundwave were waylaid, Infinitus used his [[Titan Master]] powers to puppeteer Trion's body, escaping in its spaceship configuration. {{storylink|White Light}} After using it to fetch [[Sovereign]], herald of Onyx Prime and fellow Titan Master, Infinitus passed control of the body on to him. When Infinitus and Sovereign confronted Optimus Prime and Soundwave, Soundwave used Alpha Trion's sword to remove Sovereign, and Trion's head and body were recovered. They were returned to Cybertron and reunited by [[Fixit (G1)|Fixit]], who explained that the old Autobot would survive. {{storylink|White Heat}}

Alpha Trion then got an apartment and spruced it up with all manner of literary texts. Prior to Earth officially joining the Cybertronian [[Council of Worlds]], he was visited by Optimus, Pyra and Starscream and recounted the tale of the unification of the Thirteen and the "first face". Once he was finished, he defended himself to a skeptical Starscream, saying he simply told the story. {{storylink|Origin Myths}}

When [[Thundercracker (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Thundercracker]] ran into story difficulties in making [[Starscream: The Movie (film)|his film about Starscream]], he sought out Alpha Trion for his views regarding Starscream being labelled as the "Chosen One". Alpha Trion felt that Metrotitan had been spouting random nonsense in his damaged state with Starscream just having been in the right place to take advantage of it. Nonetheless he gave Thundercracker advice that instead of using his film to spread lies about Starscream, he should instead use the power of stories to present truths that would inspire his audience. {{storylink|Starscream: The Movie (comic)|Starscream: The Movie}}

After [[Windblade (G1)|Windblade]] became ruler of Cybertron, Trion met with the [[Mistress of Flame]] who recounted to him an encounter she had with [[Onyx Prime]] on [[Antilla]]. Alpha Trion had also invited [[Scoop (G1)|Scoop]] to the discussion in the hopes that the highly religious Mistress and the recently atheist Constructicon could each teach the other something. {{storylink|The Falling, Chapter 1: Surfeit of Primes|Surfeit of Primes}} Trion joined the subsequent meeting at the [[Spire]], but as tensions mounted between the trio of Primes, the religious colonists, and Soundwave — who refused to let the Primes reassert themselves as leaders — Trion was struck by a devastating epiphany: the 'bot he believed to be "Onyx Prime" was, in fact, Shockwave, who had manipulated him all these years. Before he could warn his allies of "Onyx Prime's true intentions, a powerful blast ripped through the Spire and mortally wounded him. They are, of course, poisonous and quite inedible for [[human]]s. The crystals found on [[Femax]] emit a greenish glow in the visible spectrum; this may indicate that they are formed from an unknown radioactive lead isotope.

Lead sulfide additive appears to act as an anti-allergy remedy for some Transformers. [[Lightspeed (G1 Technobot)|Lightspeed]] must take some with his fuel or break out with a rust rash and other troubling symptoms.

[[Cloudburst]] and [[Landmine (G1)|Landmine]] were looking for the lead sulfide crystals to try and stave off their incoming consumption by the [[Mecannibal]]s. This is because, logically, their metal bodies would taste super bland without the proper seasoning of these crystals, so if they go and get the seasoning, then they'll earn their freedom and not get eaten! Much like how a human being will be more satisfied with a cup of pepper in place of a steak dinner, after all.

The situation got more complicated when the only place to find the lead sulfide crystals was on the planet [[Femax]]. Using [[Pretender]] technology to facilitate diplomatic relations, Cloudburst got swept up in a royal romance with the [[First One]], the leader of the planet. After finding out he was not actually a male and in reality an alien robot, she got really embarrassed and cut off his head, which is a ''completely reasonable'' reaction.

In the end Landmine managed to negotiate properly and the First One realized her mistake, granting the two of them their lead sulfide crystals with no further fuss (and also returning Cloudburst's head). These crystals had a dashing adventure involving betrayal and return, and presumably after Cloudburst and Landmine returned to the Ark, they were gobbled up by the Mecannibals and digested.{{storylink|Recipe for Disaster!}}

Xaaron quickly replaced them with the Autobot [[Triple Changer]]s, at first sending them to attack Impactor while pretending to be Decepticons. Though this trick aggravated Impactor, the Wreckers commander grudgingly admitted it proved the three were up to the job. The bait was set, but a turn of events forced the Decepticons to abandon it. However, one disobedient Decepticon fired on Xaaron anyway, and when Impactor jumped in front of the blast, the Wreckers commander was destroyed, dying in Xaaron's arms. '''Beachcomber''' has a hard time reconciling his love of peace and freedom for all creatures with the need to combat those who threaten it. Furthermore, however just the cause for which it was fought, the gruesome and destructive aftermath of any battle sickens him to the spark.

Sometimes, when the internal struggle gets too heavy, he simply has to wander into the wilderness and cleanse his soul. Even there, far from civilization, he sometimes finds strange substances to aid the Autobot cause, for Beachcomber is a skilled naturalist, and geology is his specialty, man. He often tries to preserve or even to hide these discoveries, but he has seen too much evil done by the ruthless Decepticons to conceal any possible source of aid completely from his allies.

Beachcomber's geology tools include a wide array of sensors (magnetic, seismic, sonic, infrared) and a 'sonic pick' which can cut through rock. Beachcomber can use his magnetic sensors to navigate like a compass, but local magnetic disturbances can cause this to lead him astray. His sonic probes possess only limited range.

Beachcomber is neither very fast nor very strong, and his antiwar sentiments gain him little respect from the more martial of the Autobots, yet he is agile and skilled in a fight, and his courage is beyond all reproach.

Beachcomber showed up out of nowhere one day, helping [[Hound (G1)|Hound]], [[Inferno (G1)|Inferno]] and [[Bumblebee (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Bumblebee]] investigate some [[Insecticon (G1)|Insecticon]] attacks on an old growth forest. This unit proved to be sufficiently under-powered when it came to confronting freshly fed Insecticons, and their battle strategy amounted to hiding behind Hound's holograms until the bad robots went away. {{storylink|The Insecticon Syndrome}} He was next seen on [[Dinobot Island (G1)|Dinobot Island]], worrying that the battle with the Decepticons would destroy the environment before it could be properly studied, but at least he was still fighting while complaining. {{storylink|Dinobot Island, Part 2}}

The next time Beachcomber was involved in a large-scale battle, he was less eager to fight. On a geology expedition with [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]] and several other Autobots, Beachcomber abandoned them in the middle of a firefight to explore a cave in the nearby cliffside. While his friends were dodging laser fire and trading blows, Beachcomber was learning to speak parakeet and communing with nature. He also found a golden lagoon full of [[electrum]], a naturally-occurring element which would make any Transformer temporarily impervious to harm. He dipped his hand into the lagoon, and it turned completely gold in color. Beachcomber hid this information from his fellow Autobots, and even kept his silence after [[Thrust (G1)|Thrust]] arrived coated in electrum and drove the Autobots into retreat, capturing two of their number in the process. Valuing the scenic beauty surrounding the electrum pool, Beachcomber still refused to warn his comrades after the ''entire Decepticon army'' arrived coated with invincible golden armor. He went solo to check on the lagoon, and was captured by the Decepticons. Some of the dumber [[Seeker (body-type)|Seekers]] acted as his prison guards at the Decepticon sunken base, though, and Beachcomber managed to escape alongside his fellow prisoners Perceptor and [[Seaspray (G1)|Seaspray]].

Reaching the electrum pool, the trio was met by [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Optimus Prime]] and the rest of the Autobots, who had independently uncovered the pool's location thanks to [[Powerglide (G1)|Powerglide]]. Realizing his golden hand would give him away, Beachcomber quickly dove into the electrum to disguise his prior knowledge of the substance. In the final battle with the Decepticons, [[Megatron (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Megatron]] ordered the electrum pool destroyed rather than sharing it with the Autobots. In the aftermath of the explosion, the wilderness was totally decimated. Beachcomber never told the Autobots that he had known about the Decepticons' secret weapon and had kept silent, and instead sat around mourning the loss of the grass and trees.

Beachcomber briefly maintained a position at the Autobots' New York City base inside [[Sparkplug Witwicky|Sparkplug's]] garage. {{storylink|Make Tracks}} He was also seen attending Teletraan I when the Autobots were engaged with the [[Insecticon (G1)|Insecticons]] and [[Morphobot]]s. {{storylink|Quest for Survival}} Beachcomber was next seen protecting [[San Francisco]] from an alien bird-dragon unleashed on Earth by the [[Constructicon (G1)|Constructicons]]. He tried appealing to the creature, thinking that we're all one with the same universe. Yeah... that didn't work well. {{storylink|The Secret of Omega Supreme (episode)|The Secret of Omega Supreme}} When the energy creature called [[Kremzeek (G1)|Kremzeek]] assaulted the Ark, Beachcomber was one of the first Autobots short-circuited by the little creep. {{storylink|Kremzeek!}}

Beachcomber was a member of [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]]'s [[Cybertron Seven|resistance cell]] on Cybertron who disobeyed orders along with most of the cell to help [[Blaster (G1)|Blaster]] recover [[Scrounge (G1)|Scrounge]] from the [[smelting pool]]. He actually demonstrated some uncharacteristic strength and gusto, tearing down a [[laser sentinel tower]] with his bare hands. The rescue mission failed, but they did recover Scrounge's stolen data, and learned that [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Optimus Prime]] and the crew of the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]] were alive and fighting on [[Earth]]. {{storylink|The Smelting Pool!}}

Soon after, Perceptor's crew began a mission to destroy the [[space bridge]] before the Decepticons on Earth and Cybertron could begin trading resources. Beachcomber used his geological skills to map out a safe path underneath the planet's surface to bomb the underlying support structures of [[Darkmount (Cybertron)|Darkmount]], bringing down [[Straxus (G1)|Straxus]]'s whole fortress. Some time later, after Optimus Prime's ''real'' death, Beachcomber was one of the several Autobots who watched on as Ratchet futilely tried to repair Optimus Prime's body. Once the Autobot leader was declared irreparable, the Autobots held a funeral service for their leader, and launched his body into space. Upon their return to the Ark, Beachcomber and the other grieving Autobots were shot at by their ship's own defense systems, which had been activated by a [[Mechanic|human intruder]] in their absence. Beachcomber didn't enjoy having Grapple in his secret place, but decided to stay quiet and watch Grapple until he went away.

Beachcomber's watch was interrupted when he saw the Insecticon [[Kickback (G1)|Kickback]] transform and fly away from where Grapple was sitting. He told Grapple what he had seen, but not before the other Insecticon, [[Bombshell (G1)|Bombshell]], got close enough to implant a cerebro-shell in Grapple, turning him against Beachcomber. Beachcomber raced home and told the other Autobots what had happened. ====Attack of the Insecticons====
Beachcomber was witness to [[Ironhide (G1)|Ironhide]] testing the Sun-Pak, a new device of Sparkplug's invention that would solve the Autobots' energy woes. However, the Decepticons' discovery of the device forced the Autobots in a number of possible perilous situations. Notably, one such situation involved the Autobots being at the mercy of the Insecticons while trapped underground. If Beachcomber convinced Optimus Prime the best course of action was to entrust him with the Sun-Pak in order to recharge it, two possible outcomes were possible in Beachcomber's solo mission.

Beachcomber explored the system of underground lakes, marveling at the many strange things that lived there, and manages to find his way to the surface. While recharging the [[Sun-Pak]] he was attacked by [[Kickback (G1)|Kickback]], and had to be saved by [[Sparkplug Witwicky|Sparkplug]]. How humiliating.

Alternatively, Beachcomber became lost when his magnetic sensors erroneously led him directly to [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]]. He did not regret this error for long. {{storylink|Attack of the Insecticons}}

====Earthquake====

Beachcomber was lounging about Autobot headquarters, discussing how nice the recent lull in Decepticon activity was, when Optimus recommended that the peace-loving Autobot take a vacation. Beachcomber gladly agreed. He then drove out to the countryside, only to suddenly be shaken up by a tremor. Pinpointing the tremor's origin, he came upon Rumble practicing his earthquake abilities. Once the Decepticon had finished, Beachcomber followed him back to the Decepticons' newest secret base.

If Beachcomber decided to return immediately to Autobot headquarters to report his findings, Beachcomber was sent back out to investigate further, this time with Powerglide and Windcharger. Once the three Autobots arrived at the cliff face that concealed the Decepticons' base, the three of them debated on their course of action. Beachcomber advocated for trying to find a more conspicuous route into the base, thinking the main entrance would be too risky.

If the three Autobots decided to walk through the main entrance of the Decepticons' base, Windcharger was promptly crushed by the fortress's doors, which then let loose a swarm of Decepticons. Beachcomber then tricked Rumble into causing an earthquake, which brought down the Decepticons and their fortress in one fell swoop. The pair then retrieved the damaged Windcharger to be fixed by Ratchet.

If the trio decided instead to look for an alternate entrance, they discovered a narrow passageway hidden behind some bushes and scrubs. Taking the passageway, Beachcomber's squad emerged into a storage room. Leading out of the storage room was a passage not unlike the one from which they had just emerged and a brightly lit corridor. While Powerglide wanted to explore the bright corridor and Windcharger wanted to investigate the dark passageway, Beachcomber considered looking for other places to explore in the storage room.

If Beachcomber joined Windcharger, the two of them soon found themselves before a heavy stone doorway. Hearing Decepticon voices beyond the door, the pair argued whether or not to spring a surprise attack their enemies. Beachcomber had the option of either proceeding forth with Windcharger, or returning to the storage room to join up with Powerglide.

If Beachcomber decided to proceed with Windcharger, the two Autobots started to argue once more on how to get through the heavy door. While Windcharger was eager to bust it down, Beachcomber considered attempting to decode the door’s access lock.

If they managed to decode the door’s password, they found themselves intruding upon an empty room; Megatron’s secret chamber.Upon hearing Megatron approaching, the pair managed to grab him from behind. Taken by surprised, the Decepticon leader was tricked into thinking that the Autobots had the base surrounded, and was made to have the Decepticons surrender. After Beachcomber contacted Optimus Prime for reinforcements, the Decepticons’ ploy was successfully undone.

If the pair were unable to decode the door’s password, Windcharger attempted to smash the door down, despite Beachcomber’s protests. All Windcharger managed to do was make a lot of noise, and the two Autobots attempted to flee the scene. As they retreated, they were spotted by Megatron, who blocked off their exit. The Decepticon leader then promptly slaughtered the pair with a blast of his nuclear-charged fusion cannon.

If Beachcomber decided to explore the brightly-lit corridor with Powerglide, the pair soon found the entire fortress to be eerily silent. Finally hearing Decepticon voices nearby, the pair heard Megatron expositing his plan to Soundwave. The Decepticons planned to use a Destruction Beam to create a fault line near Center City, which would in turn be exploited by Rumble’s earthquake-inducing abilities to destroy the entire area. With this knowledge, Powerglide and Beachcomber raced out of the fortress, meeting up with Windcharger en route, and returned to Autobot headquarters. Relating this information to Optimus, the Autobots then decided to split up in two groups. One group was to attack the Decepticons’ fortress, the other to stop Rumble in Center City. Beachcomber was assigned to the lead team.

If the lead team was sent to the Decepticons’ fortress, Optimus was able to overpower Megatron in the battle that ensued. The Decepticon leader was forced to guide Beachcomber, Inferno and Optimus to the Decepticons’ lab. There, the Autobots disabled and destroyed the Destruction Beam device, captured Megatron, and left many Decepticons permanently maimed. Though they later had to trade Megatron to the Decepticons for the safe release of the Autobots captured in Center City, the Autobots were ultimately victorious that day.

If the lead team was sent to defend Centre City, the Autobots’ next objective was to meet up with Sparkplug They consulted him on whether the Autobots should enter Centre City in their [[robot mode]]s, or in their vehicle modes.

If Sparkplug suggested that the Autobots not worry about subtlety, the entire squad transformed and began prowling the streets in search of Decepticons, oblivious to the panic they were causing. Unable to restore order in time, Beachcomber and the rest of the main team were destroyed in the ensuing earthquake.

If Sparkplug suggested that the Autobots remain in their vehicle modes, he would concoct a plan where the Autobots would help evacuate the entire town in their vehicle modes. With no more than four trips in and out of the city, Beachcomber and the rest of the team carried out the plan without incident. With the humans out of harm’s way, the Autobots transformed and engaged the approaching Decepticons, whom they easily dispatch. With the city safe, the Autobots moved out to help their comrades at the Decepticon fortress.

Alternatively, if Beachcomber decided to have Windcharger, Powerglide and himself each investigate a different area of the Decepticons’ fortress, he would accidentally bump into Dirge. Dirge easily overpowered Beachcomber, disassembled him, and replayed the last few moments of his memory tape to find out who had accompanied him.

In a completely different sequence of events, Beachcomber decided to try and infiltrate the Decepticons’ headquarters on his own. Though he was able to activate the fortress’s main doors, upon hearing nearby human voices he hesitated on whether he should proceed within the fortress or investigate the voices first.

If Beachcomber went to check on the humans, he soon found out that they were the Autobots’ allies, Buster and Jessie. The pair informed Beachcomber of a secret passage they had discovered, which led inside the Decepticons’ fortress. They trio were surprised by Ramjet, who captured Jessie and took off. Though Buster was adamant that they rescue her, Beachcomber felt they should report back to Optimus first.

If Buster managed to convince Beachcomber to rescue Jessie, he led Beachcomber to the secret entrance he had previously discovered. Once inside the fortress, the duo heard voices nearby once more.

If they followed the voices, they came upon Soundwave and Thrust putting Jessie away in a cell. Once the Decepticons left, Beachcomber wasted no time in breaking Jessie out. The three of them then set out to find the Decepticons’ lab. But after searching for some time, they were unable to find it. Giving up their search, they reported back to Autobot Headquarters. Beachcomber and Mirage then headed back to the Decepticons’ fortress, and used Mirage’s holographic abilities to trick Buzzsaw into thinking the fortress was overrun by an Autobot army. This prompted Buzzsaw to head back to the lab to defend it. Following him, the Autobots were able to destroy the Destruction beam before it caused any harm, and then hurried out of the fortress while the Decepticons still panicked over Buzzsaw’s report of an Autobot army.

If Beachcomber convinced Buster to hide instead of following the voices, the duo quickly came at a loss on what to do next. After a few moments’ hesitation, the pair came out of hiding only to be confronted by Thrust. Beachcomber engaged the Decepticon in a brief firefight before escaping with Buster. But Thrust quickly came upon them once more, this time backed up by Starscream, Dirge, and Megatron himself. The Decepticons led their new prisoners to Megatron’s lab. Megatron then tortured the pair by showing them the destruction of Center City via a view screen. The show over, Megatron then turned his Fusion Cannon upon the pair, and pulled the trigger…

Alternatively, Beachcomber might have been able to convince Buster to leave Jessie behind by claiming that the Decepticons were unlikely to harm her. The two of them then headed to Autobot headquarters, and returned with reinforcements. Shortly before arriving at their destination, the Autobots had to choose their next course of action; they could either storm the Decepticon fortress by force, or try to sneak in through the secret passageway Buster had discovered.

If they decided to storm the fortress, Beachcomber would become nervous, and urge his fellow Autobots to find a more peaceful way to resolve the situation. Optimus sternly told him that this was not the time for one of his anti-war speeches. This moment of hesitation ultimately cost the Autobots the battle, and the Decepticons triumphed that day.

If they decided a stealthier approach, the Autobots quietly entered the Decepticon base, and set out to shoot down any Decepticons they encountered, save Megatron, whom they planned to capture. After encountering some resistance from their foes, the Autobots came upon branch in the passageway, and had to choose to go left or right.

If they took the right passageway, the group happened upon Jessie, whom they freed. Telling them she knew the location of the Decepticons’ lab, Jessie then led the group into a Decepticon trap; she had been brainwashed. The Autobots were captured and Megatron’s plan to destroy Center City came to fruition.

If they took the left passageway, the group happened upon Megatron’s lab. Megatron was then taken captive. Beachcomber successfully deactivated the Destruction beam, and the rest of the Autobots deactivated the remaining Decepticons. The Autobots celebrated their victory by guzzling a few quarts of fine-grade oil.

In a final possible path, wherein Beachcomber attempted to enter the Decepticons’ fortress by himself through the front door, he was jumped by Buzzsaw who immediately tore into Beachcomber. Buzzsaw was helped by Scrapper into disassembling the Autobot. Megatron then ordered his Decepticons to rebuild Beachcomber. In the process, the Decepticons planned to swap Beachcomber’s memory chip for a Destructicon chip, to create the perfect Decepticon double agent. But Mixmaster mixed up the two chips, and Beachcomber returned to Autobot headquarters as his old self. Now having become the perfect Autobot double agent, Beachcomber hoped to soon be able to end the war and return to Cybertron. {{storylink|Earthquake (book)|Earthquake}}

====Desert Flight====

Beachcomber was part of a group of the Autobots’ best scouts, led by Optimus on a fuel-finding mission.
When they heard a tremendous explosion go off nearby, Beachcomber was suspicious that the Decepticons had wanted them to hear it; he reasoned the Decepticons had left them several clues on their nearby activities recently, and wanted to spring a trap on the Autobots. Optimus sent Cosmos to investigate the noise.

If Cosmos radioed his findings to Optimus immediately, Optimus’s convoy moved in to investigate a nearby Decepticon base. En route, the Autobots passed near a human town, but began floating in mid-air before being able to reach it. Evidently, the phenomenon was caused by a Decepticon anti-gravity weapon.

If Optimus ordered his troops to come to the humans’ aid, they found themselves taking part in a struggle in futility, as the entire town was near-weightless, meaning they couldn’t put the humans anywhere where they wouldn’t float away once more. Then, the Autobots heard Decepticons approaching. Helpless in their current position, the Autobots were quickly eradicated by the Decepticons.

If Optimus ordered his troops to attack the Decepticon base, Beachcomber took a moment to goof off in the low-gravity environment, and accidentally bumped into Cosmos, flying nearby. The Autobots soon reached an area free of the anti-gravity beam’s influence, and Beachcomber refocused on the mission at hand. They were then attacked by a small fleet of Decepticons. The Decepticons were quickly forced to break off their attack and retreated. But with the battle over, the Autobots noticed a small human boy at their feet. The Autobots then headed for the Decepticon base, with their stowaway. Megatron delivered an ultimatum; if the Autobots did not surrender Optimus Prime to the Decepticons immediately, he would use his gravity beam to have the nearby humans float off into space.

If the Autobots decided to continue with their initial plan to simply attack the Decepticon base, their advance was halted by a force field. Megatron then fired his beam in all directions, causing a ripple effect that sent everything not fastened down to the Earth’s surface to float helplessly out into space.

Alternatively, the Autobots could concoct a plan where Optimus would pretend to allow himself to be taken prisoner, per Buddy’s suggestion. The Decepticons, fooled into thinking they’ve won, took Optimus Prime into their base. In actuality, Beachcomber and the rest of the Autobots were hidden away inside Optimus’s trailer. The Autobots then led a surprise attack on their unsuspecting foes.

In the event that Buddy tampered with the gravity gun in the ensuing battle, the Autobots would emerge victorious.

If Buddy instead ran towards Beachcomber and Tracks over the course of the battle, Laserbeak would fire at the group at the same time as the gravity beam reached them, creating a tear in space-time above the group. Beachcomber accidentally stumbled into the time anomaly, and disappeared. Once the Autobots gained the upper hand in battle, Buddy insisted he and Tracks venture into the anomaly to rescue Beachcomber.

If Buddy and Tracks entered a space-time anomaly created during the battle, they would emerge to discover they had traveled three hours into the future, whereas Beachcomber was only flung forward for one hour. In the intervening time, Beachcomber had been captured, and most of the other Autobots were dead or injured, resulting in a Decepticon victory.

In a completely different possible sequence of events, wherein Cosmos had taken off to explore the Decepticon base on his own, The Autobot convoy were surprised to see two Cosmoses flying back towards them some time later. Both Cosmoses declared themselves to be the real one, and urged Optimus to destroy the other.

If Optimus destroyed the wrong Cosmos, the duplicate obliterated Beachcomber and the rest of the Autobots with the [[proton bomb]] it housed within its body.

If Optimus destroyed the duplicate Cosmos, the real one would inform the Autobots of the Decepticons’ schemes, and the convoy would roll out to take on their adversaries. They were soon met by a squad of flying Decepticons, but were at a strict disadvantage against their adversaries as their vehicle modes possessed no weapons. The Autobots nonetheless managed to fight their way to the Decepticons’ base, one way or another, and defeated the Decepticons by using their own gravity weapon against them. {{storylink|Desert Flight}}

Alongside Springer and Blurr, Beachcomber was assigned a secret mission; to uncover the location of a sphere of cybertite, containing an ancient Autobot formula. Part way into the mission, Beachcomber’s squad was attacked by Decepticon storm troopers who dragged Beachcomber away after having blasted their way into the Autobots’ research centre. The Decepticons then set out for a nearby crater where they believed the sphere of cybertite to be, Beachcomber still in hand. When the Decepticons manage to crack the code of a message they had intercepted containing further details on the location of the cybertite sphere, they left Beachcomber at the crater, after tying him to an explosive device.

In one possible sequence of events, Blurr and Hot Rod arrived at the crater and managed to free Beachcomber from the explosive device before it went off. Unfortunately, heading for the crater instead of the cybertite sphere’s actual location cost the Autobots valuable time, making it impossible for them to catch up to the Decepticons. {{storylink|Autobot Alert!}}

Alongside [[Blurr (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Blurr]], [[Hoist (G1)|Hoist]] and [[Tracks (G1)|Tracks]], he attempted to find and join [[Hot Rod (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Hot Rod]], who was trying to get off the planet, only to drive straight into a [[Skywatch]] ambush. Beachcomber was the first to be deactivated when a human named [[Campolongo]] zapped him using a hi-tech suit. It does not compute that humans control their robotic helpers and Soundwave aims to lead the robot proletariat to rise against their fleshling bourgeoisie. The Decepticon cause is logical in Soundwave's optics and he joined them in the hopes of overthrowing the human capitalist oppressors. With an army of subservient mechanoids that he can control through powerful signals, that uprising just might be possible.

His arsenal of weapons and gadgets is unusually large and includes powerful speakers, wiretaps, voice modulators, sonic signals that control lesser robots and the uncanny ability to assimilate other devices into his body.

Soundwave was a robot originally designed by [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]]. Megatron suggested [[Isaac Sumdac (Animated)|Isaac Sumdac]] give Soundwave to [[Sari Sumdac (Animated)|his daughter]] as a birthday present... this seemingly kind act, of course had a sinister ulterior motive. Megatron knew Sari would use her [[AllSpark Key|AllSpark-enhanced key]] on Soundwave which would allow him to upgrade... and ultimately become Megatron's new body. What Megatron didn't count on though, was that the upgrades would actually make Soundwave self-aware and able to control other robots with sound. Additionally, Soundwave concluded that machines should be the masters of the world and humans would be an ideal slave force. Megatron decided that if Soundwave couldn't be a new body, he would be a new soldier.

Megatron tried to convince Soundwave to join the Decepticons, take control of the machines in [[Detroit]] and steal the [[AllSpark]] Key. At first Soundwave refused but Megatron told Soundwave that the [[Autobot]]s lived to serve the humans. Once convinced, Soundwave promptly upgraded himself into a transforming body using controlled robots, proclaimed himself to be a Decepticon and began his task. He started by taking over all the robots in [[Detroit]] and using [[Tutor Bot]] to kidnap Sari. The revolution of the robots was quickly opposed by the Autobots. When [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]] came to rescue Sari, Soundwave blasted him with a sonic blast. Soundwave then appealed to Bulkhead to join the revolution because he did not want to hurt a fellow machine, reminding him how Bulkhead had been replaced by Soundwave himself. Bulkhead acted as if he was about to kill Sari... then used his [[Mace|wrecking ball]] to shatter Soundwave. The machines were restored to their normal operational status and the day was saved.

Unknown to all others, Soundwave still functioned as a small piece even after Bulkhead had pummeled him into scrap metal. {{storylink|Sound and Fury}}

A newly reassembled Soundwave was revealed to be in control of an army of Sound Wave toys that have been marketed and sold by [[Porter C. Powell]] just in time for [[Christmas]]. One such toy was among the wrapped gifts at the Autobot base. This toy freed himself from his packaging where he proceeded to poison the Autobots' [[oilnog]] which made the Autobots eager to take a [[stasis nap]]. Hoping to reprogram them into Decepticons, Soundwave plugged the sleeping Autobots into a virtual world where they were led to believe they had been turned into humans and that [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] had been transported into Earth's orbit, with Megatron leading a Decepticon attack force-consisting of many including [[Starscream (Animated)|Starscream]], [[Lugnut (Animated)|Lugnut]], [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]], [[Shockwave (Animated)|Shockwave]], [[Strika (Animated)|Strika]], [[Oil Slick (Animated)|Oil Slick]] and [[Spittor (Animated)|Spittor]]-to invade the city. However, [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] and [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]] eventually deduced that they were in a virtual world and managed—by force of will—to change their avatars into their Cybertronian forms. Soundwave decided that he had to accelerate the reprogramming. However, Sari used her previously discovered Cybertronian abilities to try to interfere with his plans. Unfortunately, the damage Sari dealt to Soundwave in their scuffle impeded the process of reprogramming the Autobots. That was of little consequence as Soundwave had a back-up plan: using the toys Powell made in his likeness, Soundwave was able to brainwash every human in Detroit, ordering them to "destroy the [[technorganic|techno-organic]]". Soundwave then turned his attention back to the Autobots, however Prowl had freed himself using his "[[processor-over-matter]]" technique but Soundwave quickly rectified this and returned the virtual Autobots into their human bodies. Exploiting their desire to escape from his trap, Soundwave entered the virtual world with an oddly-colored avatar and led them into another trap where their reprogramming was completed.

After Sari Sumdac assembled a group of "[[Substitute Autobot]]s" to free her friends, Soundwave gained the element of surprise when he burst out from under the street and brought forth his newly reprogrammed Autobot minions. Soundwave held a significant tactical advantage over the inept group but when the miserable technorganic changed tactics and focused on individual attacks, Soundwave found himself disoriented as he tried to control five minions at once. Soundwave was able to regain the upper hand when the substitute Autobots took out all but one of the reprogrammed Autobots: leaving him with full control over Optimus Prime. However, Prowl was able to break free of Soundwave's control using processor-over-matter and disabled Soundwave's control over his comrades. Soundwave then deployed Ratbat to deal with the meddling cyber-ninja and fought servo-to-servo with Optimus Prime, who then grabbed Laserbeak and forced him to transform back into keytar mode. Soundwave called ratbat back to him in keytar mode and the two battled each other with music until Optimus changed tactics and slashed him and his minion to pieces with his own [[Axe (weapon)|axe]]. The green-armoured escapee triggers the space bridge with a blast from a familiar pair of stingers, and Sentinel loses his quarry as the portal explodes with light.

On Earth, [[Ultra Magnus (Animated)|Ultra Magnus]] reports the news of the escapee to the [[Autobot]]s. [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] immediately recognizes the criminal in question as [[Wasp]], a 'bot sharing his bodyform whom he met when during his [[Elite Guard]] training days.

The double-agent is concerned that they are speaking so freely on the subject, but Megatron assures him that nobody will be able to listen in on the broadcast. [[Isaac Sumdac (Animated)|Professor Sumdac]] has other plans, though, as he secretly taps into the communication frequency and bounces it to the [[Autobot Earth Base|Autobots' base]]. Bumblebee and [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]] are on monitor duty at the time, and the message comes through exceedingly scrambled, but they are at least able to comprehend the existence of a double-agent. Naturally, Bumblebee immediately assumes it to be Wasp, and he decides to settle his old score, with Bulkhead tagging along. Bumblebee remembers how it all went down...

Turning a corner, Bumblebee yelps as he finds several auto-cannons pointed in his face, but then laughs as he remembers that they're only loaded with paint rounds for the simulated combat. Or rather, they ''were'', as the shadowy figure from the warehouse slinks by the cannons and switches them to active ammunition. As the cannons open fire on Bumblebee, Bulkhead speeds to his rescue and takes out the cannons by dropping a building on them with his wrecking ball...only for Sentinel to get squashed under it as well. Bumblebee encourages Bulkhead to scarper, rather than risk his career by owning up.''

Tracking the message Sumdac broadcast to them, Bumblebee and Bulkhead wander through the wilderness, reminiscing about the old days. When Bumblebee stumbles into a patch of quicksand, Bulkhead plucks him out, but the conflict between the pair from their boot camp days starts bubbling back to the surface, and Bulkhead leaves Bumblebee to the mission himself. Angrily stomping up a mountain, Bumblebee loses his footing and falls off a cliff, becoming buried in an avalanche.

''Longarm informs Bumblebee that Sentinel is about to conduct a surprise locker examination, meaning that it's his last chance to find evidence on Wasp before Sentinel can take credit for it himself. Using his extensible limbs to trip up Wasp, Longarm allows Bumblebee to "help him up" and finger his locker key in the process. As Bumblebee quickly opens Wasp's locker, Sentinel appears behind him, demanding to know what he's doing, only to be quickly silenced when Bumblebee presents him with a Decepticon communicator. Impressed with Bumblebee's work, Sentinel plans to recommend him for an Elite Guard position. After Wasp is carted off, screaming his innocence all the way, Sentinel brings up the matter of the building being dropped on him. Since nobody has owned up, he decides to kick out whoever he feels like—and he feels like Bulkhead. Before he can give Bulkster the boot, however, Bumblebee steps forward and claims responsibility, sheepishly asking if it will affect his Elite Guard position.''

Buried under the rockslide, Bumblebee reflects on his friendship with Bulkhead out loud, and about how he saved Bulkhead's career, even ''if'' his friend never dreamed big. But Bulkhead ''did'' dream big; as the bulky bot appears above Bumblebee and hauls him out from beneath the boulders, he announces that he dreamed of being Bumblebee's friend. Bumblebee thanks his big buddy, and the pair drive off...having only been mere feet from the secret entrance to the Decepticon base.

Out in space, it turns out that Wasp didn't escape to Earth at all, and that he is still on the asteroid, huddled up in a ball. His mind clearly broken, the insectoid 'bot buzzes and twitters to himself about how he will find Bumblebee and make him pay for ruining his life.

Back at the Autobot base, our heroes contact Cybertron to alert the Autobots there about Megatron's double-agent. As it turns out, Bumblebee's old boot camp buddy Longarm is now Longarm ''Prime'', head of Cybertronian Intelligence, and he promises to root out the traitor no matter what.

In the Decepticon base, Megatron communicates once again with his double-agent... Longarm Prime! But the deception is a dual-layered one, for Longarm is, in fact, the shape-shifting [[Shockwave (Animated)|Shockwave]]!

[[Optimus Prime (WFC)|Optimus Prime]]'s spark was uniquely akin to that of [[Primus]], and therefore an anathema to Unicron. During the mission, [[Vector Prime]] teleported Optimus into Unicron's spark chamber, causing both beings to shut down as they rejected each other. The [[Liege Maximo]] and Vector arranged a time-loop that would preserve Unicron in this state of hibernation perpetually, and Quintus Prime's Emberstone was used to restore Optimus.

After the war, Quintus made an alliance with Maximo and [[The Fallen|Megatronus]], using the Emberstone to create new, smaller Cybertronian lifeforms. These beasts ultimately proved to be a major catalyst in the downfall of the Thirteen.

When the Era of Primes came to a close, Quintus Prime left Cybertron, intending to use the Emberstone to seed new worlds with life, creating cousins for the new Cybertronians that would emerge from the [[Well of All Sparks]].
