Kre-O is a new play pattern expression of Hasbro's best brands using quality construction bricks and mini-figurines. No, it's not Built to Rule. It's especially not that thing that begins with an L! But it sure works with that thing that begins with an L.

L employees are asked to please not view this webpage.

Unveiled at Toy Fair 2011, Transformers was the first Hasbro brand to be released as Kre-O construction brick kits. The kits center around a Transformers character that can be taken apart and reassembled into a vehicle. Mini-figures called Kreons are also included in the larger kits, and these mini-figures are a mix of Transformers characters and human drivers. Prices range from $7.99 to $59.99. The line launched June 6, 2011.

The robot/vehicle kits seem inspired by a mix of Transformers aesthetics, while the most of the Transformer Kreons are strongly based on the Sunbow animation designs. Though most of the toys feature heads designed directly from their Classics/Universe/Generations counterparts, a few kits feature heads taken from other sources, such as Megatron's head inspired by the Cybertronian form of Animated Megatron. And while Sentinel Prime's kit is clearly inspired by his Dark of the Moon appearance, his head takes most of its cues from the vastly different Animated version of the character.

Sets
* Optimus Prime (568 pieces) w/ Optimus Prime, Skywarp, Bluestreak, and two human motorcycle driver Kreons
: Optimus Prime's trailer can stow two motorcycles, which the humans can ride

* Sentinel Prime (381 pieces) w/ Soundwave, Thundercracker, Sentinel Prime, and driver Kreons
: Sentinel Prime can be rebuilt from a red and black Dark of the Moon-inspired robot mode to a fire truck

* Megatron (30668) (310 pieces) w/ Megatron, Shockwave, human "Specialist" and human SWAT "Police" Kreon
: Megatron can be rebuilt into a gray semi-cab, based heavily on his appearance in the live-action movie Dark of the Moon. The robot mode head sculpt and overall robot mode coloration, however, is based on his Animated appearance.

* Starscream (30667) (316 pieces) w/ Starscream and human "Pilot" Kreons
: Starscream can transform into a jet somewhat resembling an F-14. His coloration and robot mode are heavily influenced by his original 1984 and Universe (2009) appearance.

* Sideswipe (31771) (220 pieces) w/ Sideswipe and human "Driver" Kreons
: Sideswipe can be rebuilt into a red sportscar that somewhat homages his original Generation One appearance, but with additional detailing very loosely based on some of his movie-incarnation toys.

* Autobot Ratchet (30662) (197 pieces) w/ Ratchet and human "Medic" Kreons
: Ratchet can be rebuilt into an ambulance that strongly resembles his appearance in Transformers: Animated. The robot mode seems to be a mix of his original Generation One appearance as well as his Animated appearance.

* Bumblebee (36421) (336 pieces) w/ Bumblebee, Red Alert, and human "Driver" Kreons
: Bumblebee can be rebuilt into a Camaro-like muscle car, based on the live-action movies. The head sculpt is a mix of Bumblebee's various incarnations. The human "Driver" is strongly reminiscent of Sam Witwicky from the live-action movies.

Basic Series
* Mirage (31145) (119 pieces) w/ Mirage and "Race Driver" Kreons
: Mirage can be rebuilt into an F-1 racer based heavily on Mirage's Generation One appearance.

* Autobot Jazz (31146) (122 pieces) w/ Jazz and human "Race Driver" Kreons
: Jazz can be rebuilt into a silver sports car with red/blue stripes. The primary coloration of the car (silver/gray) is the same as the live-action movie, but the coloring of the trim pieces and additional sticker details are from the original Generation One appearance. Though the packaging depicts his head to be gray, like the rest of his body, it is in fact, black.

* Prowl (30690) (190 pieces) w/ Prowl and human "SWAT Commander" Kreons
: Prowl can be rebuilt into a white police car with black trim, strongly reminiscent of his original incarnation in Generation One.

Promotional Series
* Smaller Optimus Prime (31143) (90 pieces)
: Optimus can be rebuilt into a flat-nosed semi-tractor strongly reminiscent of his appearance of the Classics toyline. This kit does not include a Kreon.

* Smaller Bumblebee (31144) (74 pieces)
: Bumblebee can be rebuilt into a small sports coupe. Does not include a Kreon. This form is based most heavily on Bumblebee's appearance in the Classics toyline.

* Matrix Optimus Prime Kreon
: Promotional item given at Botcon 2011, and as a special mail-in promotion through the Kre-O website. Redeco of Optimus Prime Kreon showing the Matrix of Leadership.

* Clear Energon Bumblebee Kreon
: An exclusive New York Comic Con 2012 handout, this redeco of the Bumblebee Kreon is done entirely in translucent blue plastic, and comes in its own special little window box with an outer sleeve.

Quest for Energon
* Destruction Site Devastator (36914) (560 pieces) w/ Devastator, Ironhide, human "Foreman" and three human "Construction Worker" Kreons
: A "9 in 1" set that includes Scrapper, Drill Bit, Scavenger and Hightower, each of whom can be rebuilt from construction vehicles into robots, or combined into the super robot Devastator. Devastator takes cues from both his Generation 1 and Revenge of the Fallen incarnations. The set also contains a buildable "construction site" play environment.

* Cycle Chase (36954) (75 pieces) w/ Barricade and three Autobot Trooper Kreons

* Rotor Rage (36959) (217 pieces) w/ Vortex, human "Commando" and human "ATV Driver" Kreons
: This set features Vortex, who can be built as a robot or a helicopter, as well as a small red all-terrain vehicle.

* Street Showdown (38771) (273 pieces) w/ Wheeljack, Knock Out, and two human "Driver" Kreons
: Wheeljack and Knock Out can each be built as a car or a robot. The mock-up packaging at Toy Fair identifies Knock Out as an Autobot, but he and Wheeljack are fighting anyway.

* Decepticon Ambush (38781) (80 pieces) w/ Cliffjumper and three Vehicon Kreons
: Optimus Prime and Megatron battle around a buildable "bank" play environment in this set. Optimus can be rebuilt as his conventional longnose semi cab mode, whereas Megatron can now be rebuilt as a Cybertronic battle tank. The Optimus and Megatron Kreons included in this set are more Prime-styled than their previous figures.

* Stealth Bumblebee (98814) (257 pieces) w/ Bumblebee, human "Driver", and two human "Security Guard" Kreons
: Stealth Bumblebee features a small robot-to-muscle car Bumblebee in his black-with-yellow "Stealth" coloration, as well as a buildable "military checkpoint" play environment and a bright green Decepticon motorcycle. *Awesome Autobots Activity Book—actually mainly a Prime book, but it has four Kre-O bonus pages and is co-branded on the cover, as well as coming with a free Matrix Optimus Prime Kreon.

Notes
* While the Kre-O bricks and such are compatible with L bricks, take care with mixing Kreon and Minifigure parts, particularly helmets. Full-coverage Kreon helmets like Optimus Prime's and Soundwave's are a bit tight, and getting a L Minifigure head out of them is exceedingly difficult. They'll pop off the neck before the helmet relinquishes the head. Open-face helmets like Starscream's, where you can get a "grip" on the head with the pad of your finger, should be fine.
* Kre-O bricks are manufactured by Korean toy company Oxford.
* Kreon Hound was shown loose at Botcon 2011 with no indication on how he'll be released.
* Small images of a Transformers Kre-O set featuring a big mechanical scorpion and another set featuring a buildable Soundwave were shown at Toy Fair 2012 during the slide presentation, as part of the demonstration of the "build a big energon weapon from parts of the different sets" concept. Neither were present in the showroom or mentioned in the press materials. This same slide was shown during a presentation at 2012, again with no explicit mention of the mechanical scorpion or Soundwave.

* Smaller Optimus Prime (31143) (90 pieces)
: Optimus can be rebuilt into a flat-nosed semi-tractor strongly reminiscent of his appearance of the Classics toyline. This kit does not include a Kreon.

* Smaller Bumblebee (31144) (74 pieces)
: Bumblebee can be rebuilt into a small sports coupe. Does not include a Kreon. This form is based most heavily on Bumblebee's appearance in the Classics toyline.

* Matrix Optimus Prime Kreon
Devastator takes cues from both his Generation 1 and Revenge of the Fallen incarnations. The set also contains a buildable "construction site" play environment.

* Cycle Chase (36954) (75 pieces) w/ Barricade and three Autobot Trooper Kreons
: This set features Vortex, who can be built as a robot or a helicopter, as well as a small red all-terrain vehicle.

* Street Showdown (38771) (273 pieces) w/ Wheeljack, Knock Out, and two human "Driver" Kreons

The Bumblebee Kreon in this set is much more Prime-styled than the previous one. The set also for some reason includes a bulldog (Bonecrusher?).

* Smaller Optimus Prime (31143) (90 pieces)
: Optimus can be rebuilt into a flat-nosed semi-tractor strongly reminiscent of his appearance of the Classics toyline. This kit does not include a Kreon.

* Smaller Bumblebee (31144) (74 pieces)
: Bumblebee can be rebuilt into a small sports coupe. Does not include a Kreon. This form is based most heavily on Bumblebee's appearance in the Classics toyline.

* Matrix Optimus Prime Kreon

The Bumblebee Kreon in this set is much more Prime-styled than the previous one. The set also for some reason includes a bulldog (Bonecrusher?).

New continuity family!
Hey, remember when I said WFC/Prime is probably Primax? Well, I lied! After BotCon's flurry of information I think it's going to have to be its own thing. Not only because, well, it deserves to be, but because it will make our lives a lot easier and our pages a lot clearer. Back when the movie came out, we also considered making THAT G1, but declined when we realized the sheer amount of material and focus would make it impractical. The same here. Also, comments from Aaron Archer put the new continuity in perspective.

He ALSO doesn't like calling it "Prime," since that's not what he wants to call it, but it's all we got at the moment. He doesn't have a name for this new continuity (family), but is trying to think of one eventually. So, uh, in the meantime, I think we're stuck with calling it "Prime." Dem's the breaks until we get a time machine and can ask 2012 Aaron Archer or whatever. --ItsWalky 11:01, 29 June 2010 (EDT)
:Yeah, EVERYTHING was already pointing in the way of a new continuity family, so I'm glad the wiki now has the green light to separate this stuff. Not that that will spare me from redoing certain location articles, but it's at least a lot easier. Geewunling 11:58, 29 June 2010 (EDT)
:::I concur completely. This seems very much like a new continuity, albeit with very strong G1 and Movie influences, though the Unicron Trilogy and Animated get some characters and ideas dropped in as well.--Jimsorenson 12:22, 29 June 2010 (EDT)
::::As I said on Transformers: War for Cybertron ":I'm beginning to wonder if the "G1 continuity family" is heading towards collapse under its own weight. I'm not sure there will ever be another franchise that isn't "terribly G1y" in the future. The discussion a few years back about whether Movie and Animated belonged in their own continuity families, the synthetic nature of the Hall of Fame bios, the integration of Mini-Cons into G1 universes, all point towards a blending effect in TF universes." --Khajidha 12:42, 29 June 2010 (EDT)

While Archer may not like calling it "Prime," that would seem to be the parenthetical if we follow the same protocol we did for the Unicron Trilogy. Franchise of origin and all. Alternately, we could tag all of them (WFC) if they first appeared in that game, but that doesn't seem quite right.--RosicrucianTalk 12:46, 29 June 2010 (EDT)
::::I tend to think (Prime) is the best suffix we'll get, since we normally use franchise and Prime seems like the most likely candidate to be the franchise name. Exodus and WFC are definitely not franchises, but Prime might be. == Help! Paradox! ==

Could someone please explain to me how War For Cybertron fits in the Prime Universe. I have a whole list of paradoxs:

*Megatron:In WFC, he was a tank, while in Prime, he was a jet. In WFC, Megatron new how to control dark energon, and used it often, but in Prime, he did not fuse it with his spark until he arrived on Earth.
*Starscream: First, his color scheme is different, in WFC, he is G1 like, but in Prime, he is movie like. Also, in The Darkness Rising Part 2, Starscream acted as if he hadn't came in contact with Dark Energon, but heard about it. However, the WFC Starscream knew exactly what Dark Energon does, and wants to learn how to weild it.
*Soundwave: Soundwave in WFC is like G1, with Laserbeak, Rumble, Frenzy, however in Prime, he is quiet, doesn' talk much,
(and even then, he just repeats recordings of what others have said) and only has 1 drone (Ratbat, i beleive his name is now.
*Ratchet:Rachet in WFC new what Drak Energon was, for it was alover Cybertron and Optimus pointed it out. In Prime, though, he says Dark Energon is so rare, its existence is doughted.
*Bumblebee:In WFC, he can talk and has a mouth, but in prime, he cannot talk. (Similar to his movie version.)
*Cliffjumper: In WFC, heis basicallya retool of Bumblebee, but in Prime, he is his own mold.
*Arcee: In WFC, she is like er G1 counterpart (and is a pink car), but the prime version is more like the movie version, and somewhat of a ninja. (And is a blue motercycle.)
*Dark Energon: In WFC, it was said it corrupts and destroys. But in Prime, it has the power to revive the dead. It is all over cybertron in WFC, and heck, even the Core of Cybertron is corrupted with it. But in Prime, it is apperently "so rare", how was it found on cybertron? Better yet in WFC, why was it being manufactured? (WARNING!!! SPOLIER ALERT!!! SPOLIERS UP AHEAD!!! STOP READING IF YOU DON'T LIKE SPOILERS!!!! WARNING!!!) and Prime, why is Megaton trying to ressurct ever dead cybertronian on Cybertron? Couldn't he have just done that in WFC?

Some clarification would be great. Also, I know the whole "Scanning alt mode" thing could change the way they look, but in the Prime comic, they still look the same in Cybertrnian form. Please help clarify some things.LordDalek 10:02, 3 December 2010 (EST)
::::We don't need a reason. Characters changing their altmode is not some strange new thing that's unique to Megatron (Prime). G1 Megs went from gun to cannon to nothing to tank, back to gun, sometimes a car... UT Megs went from tank to spaceship to dragster/jet triple changer to... dinosaur. And Movie Megs has been both a tank and a jet. And all this is beside the point that we have been handed down an official reason in WFC Megatron's tech spec bio. Read the notes at the bottom of Megatron (Prime)'s article. --ItsWalky 20:50, 4 December 2010 (EST)
:::::You forget that all those times he had a reason. G1 Megatron was changed due to Cobra Commander. UT Megatron changed because he was brought back to life a few time and movie Megs was ressurected using parts of other decepticons. And there is always the to sell toys reason. But I don't know If you read my comment but I tried to end this whole paradox conversation. Ok, I confused something big whoop. == Something of Note ==

Something I've noticed in the series is something fairly unusual: all of the Transformers with flight-capable alt. mode have, thus far, been shown to be incapable of flight in robot mode. Megatron and Starscream have both been shown to have to Transform before they become capable of flight, while Soundwave has yet to transform himself. This is fairly unusual in the Transformers franchise, is it not?--184.100.200.98 15:06, 14 October 2011 (EDT)
: Soundwave has transformed. --ItsWalky 15:14, 14 October 2011 (EDT)

Alright, my mistake. But in the mean-time, have any flight-capable alt. mode Transformers shown flight capabilities in their robot mode? Because if not I'm certain that's a first for the Transformers franchise.--184.100.200.98 15:30, 14 October 2011 (EDT)
: I think the movie already tackled that, for the most part. Blackout and Megatron never flew in robot modes, and Starscream has those jet boosters on his back that enabled him to stay aloft for a few seconds between jet transformations in the first movie. To my best recollection. --ItsWalky 15:42, 14 October 2011 (EDT)
Least Transformation
So there's a note at the bottom of this page which says that this show features the least amout of transformation of any show. This seems to me to be an opinion and not the type of thing we should note on this Wiki and I'm not even sure it's accuarate. What do you guys think.
Flydie 10:44, 21 November 2011 (EST)
:::It's fact that can be verified by counting the number of transformations in the various series. However, unless we have those numbers, the note should be removed. —Interrobang 10:59, 21 November 2011 (EST)
: Well, if I remember correctly, Sick Mind, Shadowzone, Scrapheap, One Shall Rise 3, and Con Job don't have anyone transforming. Tom Servo the Great 11:05, 21 November 2011 (EST)
Actually that's the problem most of those are actually wrong while Sick Mind doesn't feature any transformations and i havent seen One Shall Rise part 3 yet but i can definatley discern from memory that all the others on that list featured at least one transformation.

* Sideswipe (31771) (220 pieces) w/ Sideswipe and human "Driver" Kreons

* Autobot Ratchet (30662) (197 pieces) w/ Ratchet and human "Medic" Kreons

* Bumblebee (36421) (336 pieces) w/ Bumblebee, Red Alert, and human "Driver" Kreons
: Bumblebee can be rebuilt into a Camaro-like muscle car, based on the live-action movies. The head sculpt is a mix of Bumblebee's various incarnations. The human "Driver" is strongly reminiscent of Sam Witwicky from the live-action movies.

Books
