Serpentor was a man created by Cobra from the combined DNA of past military geniuses, clothed in a snake-themed costume. He looked for weaknesses in Cobra's leader at the time, Cobra Commander, in order to usurp him. Cobra Commander began to seriously worry about his position when the Dreadnoks failed to take Power Station Alpha. Indeed, he was not seen thereafter. Blood on the Tracks Serpentor's plan to take Power Station Alpha met with greater success. As Serpentor complimented the Baroness on her high-society tastes, Doctor Mindbender had managed to wrest control of Power Station Alpha from the Decepticons using an electronic helmet. With G.I. Joe trailing Power Station Alpha to Cobra Island, Serpentor ordered his troops to fire on a nearby cruise ship to keep them occupied. Unfortunately for Serpentor, the cruise ship belonged to industrialist G.B. Blackrock, friend of the Autobots.

Serpentor's actions also caught the attention of the Decepticons, and Cobra was soon greeted by Dirge and Bombshell, and an alliance was forged. Power Struggle Both sides had ulterior motives; Serpentor in particular planned to eventually wrest control of these intelligent machines and use them to Cobra's ends. (Meanwhile, Decepticon leader Shockwave mused at Serpentor's stupid-looking costume.) Serpentor agreed to send Cobra forces to battle the Decepticons' enemies, the Autobots, at the Ark. Ashes, Ashes...

It was quickly discovered that the Decepticons had doublecrossed them all with intentions to use Power Station Alpha to destroy Earth, and Serpentor was forced to team his Cobra troops with both G.I. Joe and the Autobots. However, the Autobots were concerned that Power Station Alpha may have been an intelligent being, an idea that Serpentor laughed at. It was just a machine, and it must be destroyed! Cobra took to the air in their various battlecraft, including Serpentor. When Power Station Alpha's destruction was assured, he ordered Cobra to fall back. ...All Fall Down!

The Serpent Organic Robot, or Serpent O.R. for short, was created in secret by a rogue group in the U.S. military using captured Decepticon technology, including the remains of Megatron. With the strategic knowledge of humanity's greatest warriors, bulletproof hide and the ability to use metallic "tentacles" either to fight or take control of machinery, he was to be the United States' ultimate weapon. After word of Serpent O.R.'s existence was leaked to Cobra, Cobra Commander infiltrated Area 52 and activated the android to use it for himself. However, Serpent O.R. accessed memories of when Megatron was kept as a slave by Cobra Commander, and tried to kill the commander and his cronies. He had a control mechanism placed on his neck by Zartan, but it failed to affect the hunger for power given to Serpent O.R. by Megatron's programming. After knocking out the Cobras, Serpent O.R. entitled himself the "son of Megatron", donned his armor, and used Soundwave's deactivated head to learn about the history of Cybertron. The Art of War issue 1

Serpent O.R. subsequently aimed to conquer Cybertron, and attacked a team of G.I. Joes and Autobots in his way. While he managed to take control of the humans' mechs, his powers had no effect on Grimlock due to the Autobot's spark. He settled for using the mechs to distract the Autobots while he made his way to Area 52's warp gate, easily brushing aside opposition from Scarlett, Mainframe and Firewall. After warping to Cybertron's Gladiator Zone, rendering the warp gate unusable in the process, Serpent O.R. found Predaking and Piranacon fighting over territories. Using his tentacles to calm the giants, he told them about his relation to Megatron and recruited them into his new Decepticon army. The Art of War issue 2 After his army had grown to include the Stunticons, Serpent O.R. was chased down by the Autobots and Joes from Area 52, but calmly explained to them that his troops outnumbered, outgunned and surrounded them. He then crushed Bumblebee with his tentacles, and was confused that he felt like something left the Autobot as he died.

After imprisoning the Joes and Autobots in the Decepticon headquarters, Serpent O.R. continued to recruit warriors for his cause and organized an attack on an Autobot peace ceremony. The Art of War issue 3 During the assault, he contacted Optimus Prime via a hologram of Reflector's, and explained his viewpoints that Autobots were meant to be the Decepticons' slaves during their conquest of the galaxy. Prime naturally didn't agree, but he still gave himself up to Serpent O.R. in exchange for the release of the captured Autobots and humans. While waiting for the Autobot leader to be brought in, Serpent O.R. visited Hawk in his cell, seeking answers to why he didn't feel anything about Bumblebee's death when all the Autobot's friends had been devastated. After enduring a series of ineffectual punches from Roadblock, the android was told that he had no emotions since he had nothing to fight for — he was merely a "glorified gun" built only for conquest. Serpent O.R. was enraged by Hawk's claims, but calmed down almost immediately and left to converse with Optimus Prime instead.

In his control room, Serpent O.R. told Prime that he knew all about the Matrix of Leadership and that he felt he was a great enough leader to deserve its power. When the Autobot countered that nobody who snuffs out sparks like they mean nothing deserves the Matrix, Serpent O.R. admitted that he didn't understand sparks or souls, but that he would understand when the Matrix gave him a spark of his own. However, Optimus Prime was still unwilling to hand the artifact over, instead breaking out of his chains and attacking Serpent O.R. The Art of War issue 4 While he was saved from Prime's assault by his loyal Decepticons, the damage done to Serpent O.R. somehow activated the device placed on him by Zartan much earlier. While he felt something was wrong, Serpent O.R. ignored it and stole the Matrix from the defeated Optimus Prime. The power of the Matrix changed him, enlarging and transforming his body into Serpentor Prime, but also provided him with a soul and exposed his mind to the wonder of life and the error of his ways. Almost immediately, he put Motormaster's gun to his head, seeking to end the fighting and let someone more worthy have the Matrix by taking his own life. Unfortunately, that's when Cobra Commander made his move, using the device planted on Serpentor Prime to take control of his body from a control chair on Earth. What happened to Serpent O.R.'s consciousness when the commander took over is unknown, but his body was destroyed a while later when Hawk absorbed the power of the Matrix out of it. The Art of War issue 5

The United States government refused to acknowledge that they had authorized the creation of Serpent O.R., leading to Hawk leaving G.I. Joe. The Autobots also felt that they could no longer trust humans after they used Megatron's technology like that, and stopped working alongside them. Black Horizon, Part 1 of 2
The crowning achievement of Kinetic Solutions Incorporated, the man-made Transformer code-named Galvatron was originally intended for use in the United States military. Reverse-engineered from the scavenged body of Megatron, the drone adopted many of his features during its construction. However, Megatron's spark had not yet been extinguished, and before long he had seized this new body for himself. His lack of a true spark makes him almost invincible, as does his ability to split apart into a cloud of Transformium and avoid taking damage. With all of Megatron's memories and abilities, Galvatron conspires to turn KSI's technology against its creators and forge a new Decepticon army under his command.
Transformers: Age of Extinction (film)
Though believed dead, Megatron actually survived the battle of Chicago though he remained a non-functioning and immobile head. Megatron's head was collected by Joshua Joyce's KSI, and used to produce man-made Transformers. Learning of KSI and Cemetary Wind's alliance with Lockdown in order to obtain a Seed, Megatron silently bided his time until KSI finished creating a new body for him to inhabit, with which he plotted to rebel against KSI and take the Seed for himself to simultaneously wipe out millions of humans, and to announce his return. Only Brains, who was forced into hard labor by KSI, knew Megatron lived, but was unwilling to share this information with his captors. The new body unit was dubbed "Galvatron", but thanks to its source coding being developed from Megatron, its body was twisted and very reminiscent of its source. This came to the chagrin of Joyce, who wanted the robot to have the friendlier appearance of Optimus Prime.

After the Autobots left KSI after an attempted raid, Harold Attinger ordered Galvatron deployed with Stinger to destroy Optimus. Upon activation, Galvatron pretended to obey KSI's remote control, but showed several signs of free will during the operation, including firing weapons unbidden. Galvatron separated Optimus from Bumblebee and the Autobots, attacking many civilians in his way. Galvatron soon came to fight Optimus in robot mode, and held his own against the Autobot leader. When Optimus declared Galvatron had no soul, he retorted that it left him without any fear in exchange. It was this verbal exchange that alerted Optimus to Galvatron's true nature, but before the fight could be resolved, Lockdown arrived and easily dispatched his prey. Galvatron was retrieved from the field by a furious Joyce, declaring Galvatron's signs of autonomy as critical flaws.

Brains revealed Galvatron's scheme to Cade Yeager, who called Joyce and alerted him of the danger Galvatron posed should he obtain the Seed. Having ended his deal with Lockdown, Attinger handed over the Seed he'd received in exchange for Optimus. Though efforts were made to tighten security, Galvatron activated on his own, and breathed life into the other KSI Transformers, allowing them to rebel against their creators. However, Joyce was able to flee the facility from both Galvatron and the CIA with the Seed, attempting to rendezvous with the Autobots and Yeagers in Hong Kong. Galvatron ordered his new Decepticons to pursue Joyce, and his troops were able to shoot down the Autobot ship just as Joyce was about to hand over the Seed, causing the ship to crash in the nearby Wulong Valley, leaving only Hound and Bumblebee to protect the humans and the Seed. However, just as the two were about to be overwhelmed, the other Autobots returned with the Dinobots in tow, quickly turning the tide of battle and slaying most of the Decepticons. Galvatron was only saved by the timely reappearance of Lockdown, whose attack drew Optimus's attention. With his plans temporarily stymied, Galvatron declared his rebirth and swore retribution against Prime as he left for parts unknown. Transformers: Age of Extinction (film)
Given the impossible-to-recreate nature of his on screen transformation he is a complete shell-former, with his truck mode folding up solely along his back and calves. As with Evasion Optimus Prime, he has a different paint scheme than seen on his packaging, with less paint applications on his body and weapon. His truck mode is also a darkish grey, rather than the black seen in the movie footage. His cannon can either be held like a gun, or fitted on his hand in a way that appears as if it is coming out of his arm.
*Interestingly (perhaps to avoid movie spoilers), the toy-bio for Galvatron on the Voyager packaging does not mention anything about Galvatron, but rather how the Autobots face new adversaries after the Battle of Chicago.
* Age of Extinction sees Frank Welker make his on-screen debut as the live-action incarnation of Megatron, having previously played the role in tie-in video games.
* Because of Joshua Joyce's original intent of making him a new version of Optimus Prime, Galvatron combines not only elements and characteristics of previous incarnations of Galvatron, but also those of the Optimus Prime clone. Whilst retaining characteristics of previous Galvatrons, this one in particular most resembles the Prime incarnation of Nemesis Prime, having also been built by humans to use as a weapon, having the same or similar alternate mode as Optimus but in different colors, and having a huge amount of endurance (for Nemesis, it's due to being remote-controlled; for AOE Galvatron, it's because he is made of Transformium and has no spark).

Decepticon Miners are servant-class Decepticons, working on Megatron's various mining projects. As they are not warrior-class, the Autobots do not kill them indiscriminately like they do Vehicons. Despite this, Miners possess the same weapons as Vehicons and are capable of defending themselves and their work if necessary.

Fiction
Prime cartoon
Kevin Michael Richardson (English)

In the three years Megatron was wandering around space, the Decepticon Miners were constantly at work mining energon on Earth. After Megatron used Dark Energon to raise Cliffjumper, the zombified Autobot trashed a couple of Miners. The Autobots detected Cliffjumper's life signal and invaded the mine, encountering heavy resistance from the Miners as they did so. Though some of the Miners even used drills as offensive weapons, the Autobots destroyed pretty much all of them in their search and the mine was destroyed by Starscream. Darkness Rising, Part 2

A Decepticon Miner was working on a large drilling machine to help harvest energon on Earth, along with some Vehicons. However, a Synthetic Energon-enhanced Ratchet led an unexpected assault on the group, to which the Decepticon Miner responded by climbing up a cliff in front of his machine. Ratchet easily followed and incapacitated him with a large boulder, then proceeded to interrogate the miner. Despite trying to act tough with his "potty mouth", Ratchet simply used his blowtorch to torment the answers out of him. It worked. His cries for help, caused by Ratchet's aggressive act of burning the right side of his face, brought the attention of the other Autobots to his location and he was saved by Optimus Prime, whose proclamation of Ratchet going too far stopped the latter from impaling the poor miner with his blade.

Breakdown later told a miner about a Decepticon spider that he liked. The miner was presumably destroyed when Ratchet kicked the living daylights out of Breakdown. More miners were destroyed when the Autobots came to rescue Ratchet. Stronger, Faster After Dark Energon began spewing from a volcano, the miners were set to work gathering it up and storing it in the Nemesis hold. One Shall Rise, Part 1

Four miners accompanied Knock Out and an Insecticon to recover a relic in the subways beneath Manhattan. They managed to find the device, but when Arcee and Bumblebee arrived, the miners were all dispatched by the Autobots. Tunnel Vision

Miners were used to excavate an Iacon relic and eventually dug up the Star Saber. Legacy

Some miners were in an energon mine that Wheeljack blew up in an attempt to kill a giant metal dragon. Prey

Rebellion (Prime)
A number of Insecticons arrived at an energon mine reported to be under attack, but encountered only confused miners. Rebellion (Prime)

Notes
*Decepticon Miners have a similar appearance to the Vehicons, but are a light shade of purple, have different kibble, and have dual optical bands on their faces, unlike the Vehicons' single triangular ones.
*Like Vehicons, despite being referred to as drones, Miners do actually appear to be sentient to some degree. In particular, the Miner whom Ratchet tortured for information in "Stronger, Faster" went so far as to verbally insult Ratchet before reacting with genuine pain at said torture, with Optimus stopping Ratchet from executing the Miner in a manner that seemed to imply they were more than just mass-produced units.
The Chaos Trinity was a trio of Transformers who sought to control the dark forces of the universe and use them to their advantage. Though Cybertronian society accepted a degree of mysticism due to their divine origins, the Chaos Trinity dabbled in forbidden practices such as dark science. Their ambition and curiosity drove them to the point that they made a deal with an agent of darkness himself. Their members include:

*Bludgeon
*Bugly
*Mindwipe

Fiction
Dreamwave comics continuity
After the disappearance of Optimus Prime and Megatron in a space bridge accident, the Autobots and the Decepticons fractured among various factions, and the Great War degenerated into one massive turf dispute. During this time, Bludgeon, Mindwipe, and Bugly came together to <strike>play Dungeons and Dragons</strike> control the powers of darkness for their benefit. When The Fallen arrived, Fragmentation promising them great power in exchange for their service, he used them as his agents to spread chaos on Cybertron, forcing the factions to focus on each other. The Fallen then dispatched them to gather four specific Transformers with unique sparks that The Fallen would use to open the Seal of Primus. Escalation (Dreamwave) The Chaos Trinity first struck when Shockwave and Jetfire, their intended target, met in the Neutral Territories to discuss the inter-faction escalation. Bludgeon and Bugly quickly dispatched Shockwave, while Mindwipe placed Jetfire in a trance. They had expected Grimlock, another target, to show, as they had sent information on their meeting to him, making it appear that Jetfire was defecting. He didn't show up, so they decided to leave.

Grimlock jumped out from the shadows and proceeded to beat the slag out of them. The Fallen was forced to pull their tailpipes out of the fire. Revelation (The Dark Ages)

Heading for the High Council Pavilions, the Chaos Trinity managed to defeat the Protectobots and capture Hot Spot, their target, while The Fallen secured Blitzwing, the final target. Confrontation (issue) Unfortunately, Shockwave had survived their encounter, and brought Soundwave, Ravage, Trypticon, the Insecticons, and the Seekers to their hideout. Exactly what part of logic convinced Shockwave to bring a whole army against three renegades is unknown. The Chaos Trinity were eventually defeated, and The Fallen destroyed. Conflagration
