{{disambig3|Frank}}
:''Frankie Greene is a [[human]] from the ''[[Transformers: Rescue Bots (franchise)|Rescue Bots]]'' portion of the [[Aligned continuity family]].''

'''Francine Elma "Frankie" Greene''' is the daughter of [[Ezra Greene|Doc Greene]]. She is strong-willed and independent, and won't hesitate to speak her mind if something's obviously wrong. Frankie and [[Cody Burns]] are firm friends, though she is the smarter of the two, and often finds herself humoring her friend when he gets the notion to do something dangerous. They'll probably end up married someday. She prefers [[dinosaur (dinosaur)|dinosaurs]] to [[Autobot|robots]].

==Fiction==
{{voiceactor|[[Diamond White]] (English), [[D.C. Douglas]] (English, "[[Switcheroo]]"), [[Marissa Lenti]] (English, "[[Sky Forest Rescue]]" and "[[Dino Island]]")|[[Lydia Morgenstern]] (German), [[Andrea Arruti]] (Latin American-Spanish)}}
Francine attended the dedication ceremony for the town's new [[Rescue Bot|robotic rescue team]] with her father. She called [[Cody Burns]] over to where they were, but proceeded to be too interested in the new robot dinosaur exhibit at the [[Griffin Rock natural history museum|museum]] to pay any attention to the new robots. Later on, when one of the robot dinosaurs got loose, Cody rang her for advice on how to deal with it. {{storylink|Family of Heroes}}

[[Image:AlienInvasion Frankie is suspicious.jpg|left|270px|thumb]]
Frankie looked forward to riding on her dad's float in the [[Lobster and Technology Festival]] parade. She watched in alarm as her father had to be rescued from a runaway helium balloon. The next day she was in the parade when the festival was attacked by [[flobster]]s. While she attempted to fend them off with a kitchen implement, they were attracted to the starfish design on her jacket and chased her into a phone box. She had to call Cody for help and was soon rescued by [[Heatwave (RB)|Heatwave]]. {{storylink|Flobsters on Parade}} She was impressed by the [[SETI]] dish her father built for [[Huxley Prescott]]. When the dish had to be destroyed by the Burns family robots, she became suspicious that they were altogether too sophisticated. {{storylink|The Alien Invasion of Griffin Rock}}

To celebrate [[Earth Day]], Frankie and Cody visited the [[Griffin Rock Zoo|zoo]]. Frankie was most interested in the lemurs, trained to sort recyclable waste. She later saved Cody from an [[Whiskers|escaped lion]] by using her forcefield bracelet. {{storylink|Walk on the Wild Side}} Out walking [[Edison]] and [[Aristotle]], Frankie lost control of the dogs when Cody's go-kart [[Rolling Thunder (RB)|Rolling Thunder]] backfired. Luckily they were stopped from running into traffic by [[Boulder]]. When Cody later asked for something to soup up Rolling Thunder, Frankie gave him some [[nanite]]s and rang emergency services. She later found the nanites weren't in the lab's official inventory. {{Storylink|Cody on Patrol}}

When Cody wanted to try the [[Turbo Cycle (RB)|Turbo Cycle]], Frankie challenged him to prove he was responsible enough by taking care of the [[Robo-Baby]] while she and her father visited the mainland. To her surprise, he managed to succeed. {{storylink|Four Bots and a Baby}} Frankie and Cody sold lemonade during a heatwave, but when Cody got the idea of engineering a snowfall, Frankie was more interested in enjoying Summer at the river. When the weather machine went out of control, Frankie found she enjoyed the iced-over river, at least until it thawed and she was left heading downriver on a piece of ice. Fortunately she was saved by Boulder. {{storylink|Christmas in July}} Frankie and her father joined the Burns family for a barbecue and [[basketball]] game. {{storylink|Deep Trouble (RB)|Deep Trouble}}

[[Image:ReturnDinoBot Frankie sits on Trex.jpg|right|350px|thumb|That's right, it's a dinosaur ''and'' a robot. That's doubly cool.]]
Frankie enjoyed having [[Trex]] as a robot butler, and taught him to fetch coffee for her father. When the robot dinosaur was infected with a virus and passed it on to the Griffin Rock mainframe, Frankie risked her life to make sure the disinfection of the mainframe completed. {{storylink|Return of the Dino Bot}} She and Doc Greene were forced to stay at [[Neederlander|Mrs Neederlander]]'s bed and breakfast after he was fired from his position as lead scientist. When [[Thaddeus Morocco|Doctor Morocco]] showed up in town, Frankie disapproved of Prescott's biased reporting. She and Doc Greene were in the [[solar car]] when it went out of control, and they had to be rescued by the Rescue Bots. {{storylink|The Other Doctor}} With Greene preparing to leave the island, Frankie and Cody sneaked into the lab, only to find that Frankie's password to the computer had been disabled. Morocco found them, and they fled from the [[MorBot]] to Morocco's airship. Frankie spotted that the onboard computer contained incriminating evidence, and downloaded it onto a memory stick while Cody landed the ship. The evidence later got Doc Greene and the Rescue Bots reinstated. {{storylink|The Reign of Morocco}}

[[Image:YouveBeenSquilshed Frankie gets squilshed.jpg|thumb|left|250px|Now she knows how Peter Venkman feels.]]
Doc Greene and Frankie gave a demonstration of technology at the [[Hall of Inspiration]], with Frankie showing off the [[Camera Gloves]]. She later helped her father fix the [[Minimizer]] when the device was damaged. {{storylink|Small Blessings}} Frankie helped Cody dig up a film reel made by [[Anna Baranova|Professor Anna Baranova]]. After the Professor was rescued from her crashed laboratory, Frankie noted that Doc Greene seemed to have taken a shine to her. {{storylink|The Griffin Rock Triangle}} Frankie helped her father test out [[Squilsh]] by performing impact tests on it (i.e. throwing it at things). When a sample came to life and started eating things, she tried to help her father work out a way to stop it. {{storylink|You've Been Squilshed}}

While they were conducting an inventory of the archive, Frankie's father disappeared and she was pursued by a number of small bug-like creatures. After being rescued by [[Blades (RB)|Blades]], she went with the Burns family back to the fire station, where they learned that the [[Tracer (RB)|tracers]] were part of the [[Sanctuary Plan]]. Frankie and Cody went to the laboratory where Frankie called up the file before being teleported by the bugs to a cavern under Griffin Rock. While they were ultimately rescued from there by the Rescue Bots, Frankie made Cody promise not to tell anyone she was afraid of the dark. {{storylink|Countdown (RB)|Countdown}}

[[Image:ShakeUp Frankie's music video.jpg|thumb|right|280px]]
When a ghost was reported, Frankie decided it was a perfect time to try out the [[Spectral Vapor Filter]] her father had invented, and gave one to Cody. She recognized one of the ghosts as [[Elma Hendrickson]] and realized that they were all people in pictures in the Hall of Inspiration, eventually leading to the unmasking of the ghosts as holograms. Afterwards, she put the holograms back to their original purpose as a historical display. {{storylink|The Haunting of Griffin Rock}} For her school multimedia project, she decided to make a film and roped [[Dither]] into helping. That led her to try and get the Rescue Bots to help. She ended up trying to film them during an earthquake rescue, resulting in her having to be rescued at least once. When she later went back to the fire station to get her props, she heard the team going into the tunnels under Griffin Rock and followed them, getting caught in a cave in. Heatwave came to her rescue and almost blew his cover as an ordinary robot, but she had passed out. She later showed the team the music video she'd created, though none of them were sure how much she'd found out. {{storylink|Shake Up}}

She helped Doc Greene create and demonstrate a [[repulsor badge]] for Cody. {{storylink|Rescue Boy}} With the help of Cody, Frankie and her father found a [[Temporal Station|time machine]] and managed to get it working. Unfortunately during the test, she, Cody and the Rescue Bots were pulled back in time to [[1939]] where they encountered Doctor Morocco and Elma Hendrickson. The two kids escaped Morocco's clutches and Frankie set about tracking down [[Dither]], who was the key to getting them home. After finding him in a junk yard, the pair mounted a rescue mission for the Rescue Bots, during which Frankie discovered the truth about them. With the help of [[Optimus Prime (WFC)|Optimus Prime]] and [[Bumblebee (WFC)|Bumblebee]], the group escaped back to present day, only to find Doctor Morocco was in charge. {{storylink|It's a Bot Time}} In the strange altered present, the two kids employed some detective work to find out they'd accidentally changed history by leaving Dither in the past. After an encounter with an alternate version of Cody's family, Frankie, Cody and the Bots returned to 1939 to retrieve Dither, and returned to a restored present day. {{storylink|Bot to the Future}}

[[File:RoadTrip DDR.jpg|thumb|left|300px]]
Now knowing the Rescue Bots' secret, Frankie introduced Blades to dance video games. When the [[Vacuum Accelerator]] malfunctioned, sending Cody and the Bots to various locations on the island, she helped track them. {{storylink|Road Trip}} After disagreeing with Cody regarding which project they should enter into a competition, Frankie entered her [[Sky Forest (structure)|Sky Forest]] on her own and won. The Sky Forest was soon built, however [[H.B. Luskey|Mayor Luskey]]'s use of an experimental rapid growth formula turned it into a menace that threatened the town. {{storylink|Sky Forest (episode)|Sky Forest}}

After an accident with a [[stasis machine]] turned Cody into a grown up, Frankie found he was less fun to play basketball with. {{storylink|One for the Ages}} Her father promised that she and Cody would test out Doc Greene's new virtual reality game, but a snow storm canceled their plans. {{storylink|A Virtual Disaster}} Hypnotized by a cellphone, Frankie joined in the hunt for Cody and pointed him out when he tried to hide in a storm drain. She later turned up with a bunch of townsfolk to help fix [[Blossom Vale]]. {{storylink|Spellbound}} Frankie was on hand when Doc Greene used the [[Nightmare Imaging Device]] on [[Kade Burns|Kade]], resulting in the creation of a horde of [[gremlin]]s being unleashed on Griffin Rock. {{storylink|Blame the Gremlins}}

Frankie helped her father demonstrate the [[Magnetic Insta-Grill]] in public, though her protests were insufficient to stop Mayor Luskey from overloading the device, causing a blimp crash. {{storylink|Feed the Beast}} She had to remind Doc Greene that he was going to be late to launch in the ''[[Asgard]]''. Following a near disastrous launch, she, Cody and the bots kept tabs on the space elevator from the fire station, and witnessed it being hit by an asteroid. She was reunited with her father after the Rescue Bots rescued him. {{storylink|Space Bots}} Frankie was on hand for the activation of [[Vigil]], and told the computer it could address her as Frankie rather than Francine. She changed her mind when Vigil decided to take over the whole town, and trapped her and her father in the lift until the rescue team could intercede. {{storylink|The Vigilant Town}}

[[File:RescueDog Frankie and dog tricks.jpg|thumb|right|280px|'sup, dogs?]]
As part of a [[Lad Pioneer]] nature hike, Frankie was linked to [[Hayley]] via a [[Buddy Bracelet]], and complained to Cody that she didn't know what she would talk to her hiking buddy about. As it turned out, Hayley was knowledgeable about botany and even saved the group from a snake, and Frankie was later happy to hang out with her. {{storylink|Buddy System}} Frankie entered her dogs in the dog show, however the show was cut short when the tent caught fire, and Frankie had to be rescued by Heatwave. {{storylink|Rescue Dog}} When a huge storm threatened the island, Doc Greene sent Frankie to the Sanctuary cavern with food and as many board games as she could carry. {{storylink|Changes}}

On [[Midwinter Morning]], Frankie and her father were happy to find the [[Rider of Midwinter]] had left them a loaf of bread. {{storylink|The Riders of Midwinter}} Frankie and Cody tested out [[Ezra Greene|Doc Greene]]'s [[Ski-neakers]] on the ocean, and though the test was successful, the pair had to be rescued from a freak wave. She later helped out in the hunt for a Cybertronian relic, which she designated a "[[Liquefier]]". {{storylink|Odd Bot Out}}

[[File:GriffinRockExpress Rescue Girl.jpg|thumb|left|200px|Saving the city, but always late for her games of laser tag.]]
When the rescue team were busy completing a rail tunnel to Griffin Rock, Frankie borrowed some of her dad's tech and adopted the superhero identity "Rescue Girl". Using the [[Phase Bit]], she saved Graham Burns from a falling boulder, and helped out other people around town until Cody caught up with her. Revealing her identity to him and the Bots, she promised to tell her father what she was doing. When the [[Griffin Rock Express]] became runaway, she took part in the rescue, and was able to use the phasing tech to get everyone safely off the train before it crashed, though she later admitted she needed more training before doing any more rescues. {{storylink|The Griffin Rock Express}}

Frankie took part in a game of [[Rescue Ball]], riding on Trex and using the Phase Bit to score. After the Rescue Bots were mysteriously replaced by fakes, Frankie assured Cody that they'd get their friends back. {{storylink|Double Villainy}} She and her dad helped out the team when they needed tech to stop the island from sinking as a result of the tunnel network collapsing. They later took part in another game of Rescue Ball and succeeded in getting the Rescue Bots' lost memories restored. {{storylink|Rise of the Heroes}} When the Rescue Bots and Optimus were having a race, Frankie joined in by riding on Trex. When Optimus later became feral as a result of his new tyrannosaurus mode, she helped Graham, Boulder and her father deduce what was causing the problem. {{storylink|Big Game}}

During the ten-yearly appearance of the ''[[S.S. Phantom Voyager]]'', Doc and Frankie were out on the [[floating lab]] recording its appearance. After it vanished with most of the rescue team on board, Frankie spent the next ten years getting her pilot license and helping as a rescuer. When the ship reappeared, she was finally reunited with Cody, though the team were subsequently able to reverse the time machine in the ship's hold, rendering the last ten years void. {{storylink|Phantom of the Sea}} After Vigil took over the [[Mayor Luskey Dome]] and put most of the town to sleep, Cody, Frankie and the Bots had to work together to defeat him. {{storylink|No Place Like Dome}}

[[File:Switcheroo Chase and Frankie.jpg|thumb|right|230px]]
Frankie attended the unveiling of a new crazy slide designed by Graham at the [[Griffin Rock Community Pool|community pool]]. She was later disturbed to find her father had the MorBot's head sitting on a table in his lab. {{storylink|Bugs in the System}} During a trip on the space elevator, the team's minds and bodies were switched. Frankie found herself inhabiting Chase's form and seemed to very much enjoy being a car. She was later returned to her correct body. {{storylink|Switcheroo}}

When her father accidentally contaminated the lab's clean room with his breakfast, Frankie helped him sanitize it with [[scrubmite]]s. This led to Kade accidentally eating some of the scrubmites, and Frankie had to help monitor the rescue team as they were miniaturized and went inside Kade to round up the bugs. {{storylink|Bot-Tastic Voyage}} Left on the floating lab when her father was trying to get her and Baranova acquainted, Frankie had to hide when they answered a distress call and encountered big game hunter [[Quint Quarry]], who took Baranova prisoner. Unable to contact anyone, Frankie followed Quarry onto the island and attempted to break Baranova out of the hut she was in, only to accidentally seal them both in. Working together, they escaped and helped Doc Greene and Blades rescue the other Rescue Bots. {{storylink|Quarry's Quarry}}

When the rescue team found a frozen caveman who turned out to be alive, Frankie attempted to help out acclimating "[[Ira]]" to modern life. {{storylink|Did You See What I Thaw?}} After a fire at the drive in, Doc Greene developed a new projector using the same technology from the Imaging Chamber. Unfortunately he and Frankie then had to scramble when a power surge resulted in the projector creating real-life Kaiju, and eventually succeeded in returning the creatures to the film. {{storylink|The Attack of Humungado}} Frankie had to make her father go to bed when he became busy making souvenir Rescue Bots for the mayor. The souvenirs later ran amok during [[Bot Appreciation Week]], leaving Doc Greene and Frankie trying to catch up with them. {{storylink|All Bots Great and Small}}

When Cody began repeating time thanks to a new pocket watch, Frankie helped out with diagnosing what the problem was. {{storylink|Time After Time}} Frankie helped her father assess the state of [[Drilling Platform number 6]], and the pair had to be rescued after an oil spill caught fire. {{storylink|Turning the Tide}} Frankie was accepted into a science camp, but was taken aback when Cody didn't want to take a catch-up math course so he could go too. After a visit from [[Jules Verne]], whom Frankie was happy she got to meet, Cody changed his mind. {{storylink|The Last of Morocco}} On a trip to Wayward Island, she, Cody and Graham found a Cybertronian ship containing [[Blurr (Prime)|Blurr]] and [[Salvage (RB)|Salvage]]. {{storylink|The New Recruits}}

Frankie joined in bird spotting with Cody and Boulder in [[Blossom Vale]], and when Boulder found endangered woodpeckers, she helped try to protect them. {{storylink|Endangered Species}} Impressed by a visit from her aunt [[Maura the Magnificent]], Frankie contemplated the idea of giving up science to be a magician. She helped out Chase by tailing Maura's assistant, whom Chase suspect of theft, and befriended Maura's tiger [[Blizzard]]. {{storylink|More than Meets the Eye (RB)|More than Meets the Eye}} Frankie entered the ''[[Griffin Rock Idol]]'' auditions, turning down the use of her father's [[Tone-O-Tuner]] on the basis it would be cheating. After the device caused the entire town to sing and was shut down, Frankie managed to win the contest on her own merits. {{storylink|I Have Heard the Robots Singing}}

Frankie had Cody help her film coverage of the opening of a time capsule and the placing of a new one. She also helped her father run tests on some [[reactaline]] they'd found. After a mishap with a quantum crystal teleported the entire island to the [[Arctic]], she helped Doc Greene raise the dome. {{storylink|Now and Then}} As they used floatium to return the island to its original position, Frankie encouraged her father to propose to Baranova and was overjoyed when the proposal was accepted. After the island was back to normal, she added the film she'd made to the new time capsule, believing that when it was eventually opened, everyone would know the Rescue Bots' secret. {{storylink|Today and Forever}}

During the next three years, Frankie gained a little sister named [[CeCe Greene|CeCe]]. She and Cody worked on a science project together and accidentally invited the [[Velgrox]] to Earth to eat everyone. Their work was able to be used to locate the Velgrox spaceship, though they were left looking after Frankie's new sister [[CeCe Greene|CeCe]] while the others rescued the townsfolk. {{storylink|New Normal}} While the townsfolk debated whether to keep the Rescue Bots' secret, Cody and and Frankie took part in a test of the new [[GroundBridge]] with Heatwave and Chase, and temporarily ended up stranded in the [[Sahara]]. {{storylink|Bridge Building}}

Frankie continued to struggle with adapting to having CeCe as part of the family. She took the little tyke for a walk with Cody, only for CeCe to escape and become trapped in a bank vault. The two sisters were eventually reunited thanks to new Rescue Bot arrival [[Quickshadow]]. {{storylink|Arrivals}} Frankie was too busy helping Baranova with some research to play Burns Ball with Cody. {{storylink|Vanishing Returns}} After finding an upgrade for ''Element Quest'', Frankie tested it out with Heatwave, Chief and Cody, only to find it was hiding a trojan horse in the form of a virus engineered by Doctor Morocco. She subsequently coordinated the devirusing of the town's computers. {{storylink|Back to Virtual Reality}}

Cody and Frankie acted as Chase's campaign team as he ran for mayorand managed to get the Rescue Bot elected, only to regret it when Chase was over enthusiastic in enforcing obscure laws. The pair eventually had to get Luskey to help prevent the destruction of the island as a result. {{storylink|Mayor May Not}}

Frankie went to a desalinization conference in Oslo with Professor Baranova. {{storylink|All Spark Day (episode)|All Spark Day}} She spectated at Kade's [[Brash Ball]] practice, and showed off the new phone she'd saved up for. She later participated in the rescue of [[Jerry (RB)|Jerry]] from some moose. {{storylink|Part-Time Heroes}}
'''Windblade''' is a young [[Transformer]] who puts duty and truth first, even when both are difficult. Her friend and bodyguard [[Chromia (G1)|Chromia]] can get frustrated at times with the strength of Windblade's convictions, and Chromia believes Windblade trusts too much. This may not be a worldview that can survive sharing a planet with [[Starscream (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Starscream]].

Windblade is a better-than-average swordswoman, but her claim to fame is her rare talent for communicating with dormant [[Metrotitan (body-type)|Metrotitans]], for which she bears the title of [[Cityspeaker]]. Like other Cityspeakers, her face bears the markings of [[Caminus]].

==Fiction==
===IDW Generation 1 continuity===
Windblade was a Transformer who hailed from the planet/city of Caminus, and like the rest of her people she had adapted to have a gender, in her case female. Like her fellow inhabitants she had been cut off from [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] for millions of years, and her people have had to weigh every action they take. Her people's isolation ended with the arrival of [[Thunder Clash|Thunderclash]], who had come seeking help from a Cityspeaker in order to aid [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]]. {{storylink|A 'Bot and Her City|A Bot and Her City}} The Autobot had been sent by [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]] as the ancient 'bot was otherwise engaged.

[[File:BurningBright-Windblade.jpg|left|thumb|upright=1.66|''They're Windblade and the brain<br>Yes, Windblade and the brain<br>One is an organ<br>The other's ''<nowiki>[CHARACTERIZATION PENDING]</nowiki>]]

Windblade, her bodyguard [[Chromia (G1)|Chromia]], and [[Nautica]] joined Thunderclash aboard the ''[[Vis Vitalis]]''. After some time they managed to run into Metroplex, and the three chose to station up inside him to keep him alive. Eventually, a team of Autobots from the ''[[Lost Light]]'' arrived and were able to give Metroplex a jump-start from their ship, allowing them all to [[spacebridge]] back to Cybertron, where a battle between its inhabitants and the [[Necrotitan]] was taking place. {{storylink|Burning Bright: Dark Cybertron Chapter 8|Burning Bright}}

Windblade was surprised to see the other Titan, and asked the other Autobots if they knew Metroplex would have to fight one upon his arrival on Cybertron; Ultra Magnus did not, but suspected Metroplex did. For a moment they considered fleeing Metroplex while he was battling the Necrotitan, in order to remove themselves from danger, but since it was impossible to flee without abandoning some of their own, they remained until Metroplex himself was suddenly restored by [[Megatron (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Megatron]] returning his [[Regenesis]] Ore-laden thumb to him, allowing him to defeat the Necrotitan. {{storylink|Finis Temporis: Dark Cybertron Chapter 9|Finis Temporis}}

After the battle, Windblade spoke to Ultra Magnus on Metroplex's condition as he recovered. Although Windblade had not been able to learn much, she did know Metroplex had picked up the ore at some point, and jettisoned it and his thumb when he was attacked by [[Ammonite]]s. Their discussion was soon interrupted, and Magnus was forced to leave. {{storylink|The Becoming: Dark Cybertron Chapter 10|The Becoming}} However not long afterwards Ammonites began to swarm Cybertron, forcing Magnus to radio Windblade to ask Metroplex for aid. The titan needed no encouragement, and began to fight the horde. {{storylink|Black Planet: Dark Cybertron Chapter 11|Black Planet}}

Upon all of the Ammonites being destroyed by Metalhawk, Windblade and her fellow Camiens were called on by Mainframe to finish Monstructor's component parts off. {{storylink|...And the Damage Done: Dark Cybertron Finale|...And the Damage Done}}

Some time after the battle, Windblade was there with Starscream and the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobot]] [[Sludge (G1)|Sludge]] to greet [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] who had returned to Cybertron for a personal errand. While with them Optimus learned of a series of murders going on in the Decepticon Ghetto. {{storylink|City of Steel (IDW)|City of Steel}} Windblade aided Optimus along with Starscream, the Dinobots, and the Decepticon [[Barricade (G1)|Barricade]] in investigating the deaths. The [[Firecon|Firecons]] were early suspects, and were attacked by the group. Windblade was critical by the Autobots' quick reversion to the war, but she remained with the investigation.{{storylink|The Killing Jar (IDW)|The Killing Jar}} The group managed to uncover the [[Sandstorm (G1)|true murderer]], and Windblade later helped Optimus in his original task to return the [[Matrix of Leadership]] to the spot he had first received it so long ago. {{storylink|Forever Is a Long Time Coming (IDW)|Forever Is a Long Time Coming}}

Windblade witnessed the trial of Megatron. {{storylink|World, Shut Your Mouth Part 1: Towards Peace}} Subsequently, she and Ironhide stayed behind on Cybertron under Starscream's leadership as the ''Lost Light'' and the [[Ark-7]] departed. Optimus Prime warned her to be wary of Starscream. {{storylink|Earthfall Part 1: Hello Cruel World}}

[[File:BotAndHerCity-illustriousleader.jpg|thumb|upright=1.66|SPOILERS]]

Six months after the battle of the Titans, Windblade had tried settling into life on Cybertron as it had settled into Metroplex. She had an important role as Cityspeaker to the heavily-damaged Metroplex, though she was a novice at it and Starscream, the planet's leader, grew impatient and suspicious of her. Rolling blackouts threatened the city, and after she investigated the cause of those with Chromia, she also sought advice for how to best interact with Starscream. After talking with many of the denizens of [[Blurr (G1)|Blurr]]'s bar, she came to the sobering realization that Starscream was a scheming opportunist who shouldn't be trusted. Not long after this revelation, an explosion seriously damaged her and put her under medical care. Moments before the explosion, she'd seen [[Rattrap (BW)|Rattrap]], Starscream's henchman, leaving the scene, and as she awoke from her medical bed, seeing Starscream approach her, she suspected Cybertron's leader had tried to kill her. {{storylink|A 'Bot and Her City}}

After giving Windblade a veiled threat, Starscream and Rattrap departed. Windblade revealed to Chromia that she had found traces of explosives, before the bodyguard discovered reporters spying on them. Later the two of them met up with Ironhide, who they had sent to guard Metroplex's brain. Windblade searched Metroplex's brain for reasons why Starscream would cause the blackouts, when Chromia noticed that [[Waspinator (BW)|Waspinator]] had let slipped in an interview that he knew something. Windblade was able to convince him to show her what he discovered despite his unwillingness to talk; a "mine" Starscream had build inside Metroplex, used to sift the Titan for the Regenesis ore in his body. Windblade returned to the reporters and revealed this to them. As proof Windblade showed them the mine, where they were attacked. {{storylink|Windblade issue 2}}
==Notes==
[[File:Windblade concept.jpg|thumb|upright=1.66|The face of [[democracy]].]]

* Windblade is the first "officially fan-created" Transformer ever, the culmination of [[Hasbro]]'s "Fan-Built Bot" initiative program. Two polls on Hasbro's official website allowed fans to determine her character and physical traits (well, ''most'' of her traits - her [[Japan]]ese motifs ''weren't'' an option in the poll and seem to be the work of the design team).
**From [[April 18]]th to [[May 5]]th, 2013,<ref>http://investor.hasbro.com/releasedetail.cfm?releaseid=757648</ref> fans decided her faction (Autobot over Decepticon), alternate mode (jet over car, truck, tank, spaceship, terran beast [land], avian beast [airborne], helicopter, motorcycle, and construction), signature weapon (sword over blaster cannon, flame thrower, mace, spear/harpoon, morning star, Cybertronian taser, nunchucks, crossbow, and long-range blaster), color scheme (red & black over green & gold, blue & silver, orange & white, or purple & bronze) and personality (from valiant, sneaky, hotshot, secretive, wild man, and grumpy).<ref>http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/transformers-fan-built-bot-poll/27089/</ref>
**From [[May 10]]th to [[May 17]]th, fans voted on name (Windblade over Autobot Eclipse, Charon, Centuritron, Cashtron, Autobot Wraith), gender (female over male), origin (from Kaon, Iacon, Altihex, Kalis, and Praxus) and specialty (from combat medic, bodyguard, recon, telepath, and close combat specialist).<ref>http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/transformers-fan-built-bot-poll-second-round/27272/</ref>
**Subsequently, Windblade was revealed at [[San Diego Comic-Con|San Diego Comic-Con 2013]], where concept sketches of her (and the piece of finished art to the right) were part of the ''Transformers'' brand presentation.
* Concept sketches at San Diego Comic-Con showed that European knight (with visor, arm shield, and fencing foil-esque sword) and Roman warrior (with twin swords) concepts for Windblade were considered before her Japanese stylings were finalized. A different pre-production sketch gave her a Japanese hand-fan weapon in addition to her sword. Speaking of her Japanese motifs, her finalized helmet was apparently designed to resemble the hairstyle commonly worn by the ''[[wikipedia:onna bugeisha|onna bugeisha]]'', the upper-class warrior-women of feudal Japan.
* At [[Toy Fair 2014]], Windblade was noted as being the handiwork of designer [[Lenny Panzica]], who put "probably five times as much energy" into her as the rest of his workload.
* Her name works on many levels: "Wind Blade" is a real variety of ''industrial fan blade''; she turns into a jet with ''VTOL turbofans''; Hasbro designers had said they envisioned her coursing more energy into her sword blade through a spinning ''turbine fan'' in the hilt; and, of course, she was the ''fans' choice'' character.

Windblade, her bodyguard [[Chromia (G1)|Chromia]], and [[Nautica]] joined Thunderclash aboard the ''[[Vis Vitalis]]''. After some time they managed to run into Metroplex, and the three chose to station up inside him to keep him alive. Eventually, a team of Autobots from the ''[[Lost Light]]'' arrived and were able to give Metroplex a jump-start from their ship, allowing them all to [[spacebridge]] back to Cybertron, where a battle between its inhabitants and the [[Necrotitan]] was taking place. {{storylink|Burning Bright: Dark Cybertron Chapter 8|Burning Bright}}

Windblade was surprised to see the other Titan, and asked the other Autobots if they knew Metroplex would have to fight one upon his arrival on Cybertron; Ultra Magnus did not, but suspected Metroplex did. For a moment they considered fleeing Metroplex while he was battling the Necrotitan, in order to remove themselves from danger, but since it was impossible to flee without abandoning some of their own, they remained until Metroplex himself was suddenly restored by [[Megatron (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Megatron]] returning his [[Regenesis]] Ore-laden thumb to him, allowing him to defeat the Necrotitan. {{storylink|Finis Temporis: Dark Cybertron Chapter 9|Finis Temporis}}

After the battle, Windblade spoke to Ultra Magnus on Metroplex's condition as he recovered. Although Windblade had not been able to learn much, she did know Metroplex had picked up the ore at some point, and jettisoned it and his thumb when he was attacked by [[Ammonite]]s. Their discussion was soon interrupted, and Magnus was forced to leave. {{storylink|The Becoming: Dark Cybertron Chapter 10|The Becoming}} However not long afterwards Ammonites began to swarm Cybertron, forcing Magnus to radio Windblade to ask Metroplex for aid. The titan needed no encouragement, and began to fight the horde. {{storylink|Black Planet: Dark Cybertron Chapter 11|Black Planet}}

Upon all of the Ammonites being destroyed by Metalhawk, Windblade and her fellow Camiens were called on by Mainframe to finish Monstructor's component parts off. {{storylink|...And the Damage Done: Dark Cybertron Finale|...And the Damage Done}}

Some time after the battle, Windblade was there with Starscream and the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobot]] [[Sludge (G1)|Sludge]] to greet [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] who had returned to Cybertron for a personal errand. While with them Optimus learned of a series of murders going on in the Decepticon Ghetto. {{storylink|City of Steel (IDW)|City of Steel}} Windblade aided Optimus along with Starscream, the Dinobots, and the Decepticon [[Barricade (G1)]]. The [[Firecon|Firecons]] were early suspects, and were attacked by the group. Windblade was critical by the Autobots' quick reversion to the war, but she remained with the investigation.{{storylink|The Killing Jar (IDW)|The Killing Jar}} The group managed to uncover the [[Sandstorm (G1)|true murderer]], and Windblade later helped Optimus in his original task to return the [[Matrix of Leadership]] to the spot he had first received it so long ago. {{storylink|Forever Is a Long Time Coming (IDW)|Forever Is a Long Time Coming}}

Windblade witnessed the trial of Megatron. {{storylink|World, Shut Your Mouth Part 1: Towards Peace}} Subsequently, she and Ironhide stayed behind on Cybertron under Starscream's leadership as the ''Lost Light'' and the [[Ark-7]] departed. Optimus Prime warned her to be wary of Starscream. {{storylink|Earthfall Part 1: Hello Cruel World}}

[[File:BotAndHerCity-illustriousleader.jpg|thumb|upright=1.66|SPOILERS]]

Six months after the battle of the Titans, Windblade had tried settling into life on Cybertron as it had settled into Metroplex. She had an important role as Cityspeaker to the heavily-damaged Metroplex, though she was a novice at it and Starscream, the planet's leader, grew impatient and suspicious of her. Rolling blackouts threatened the city, and after she investigated the cause of those with Chromia, she also sought advice for how to best interact with Starscream. After talking with many of the denizens of [[Blurr (G1)|Blurr]]'s bar, she came to the sobering realization that Starscream was a scheming opportunist who shouldn't be trusted. Not long after this revelation, an explosion seriously damaged her and put her under medical care. Moments before the explosion, she'd seen [[Rattrap (BW)|Rattrap]], Starscream's henchman, leaving the scene, and as she awoke from her medical bed, seeing Starscream approach her, she suspected Cybertron's leader had tried to kill her. {{storylink|A 'Bot and Her City}}

After giving Windblade a veiled threat, Starscream and Rattrap departed. Windblade revealed to Chromia that she had found traces of explosives, before the bodyguard discovered reporters spying on them. Later the two of them met up with Ironhide, who they had sent to guard Metroplex's brain. Windblade searched Metroplex's brain for reasons why Starscream would cause the blackouts, when Chromia noticed that [[Waspinator (BW)|Waspinator]] had let slipped in an interview that he knew something. Windblade was able to convince him to show her what he discovered despite his unwillingness to talk; a "mine" Starscream had build inside Metroplex, used to sift the Titan for the Regenesis ore in his body. Windblade returned to the reporters and revealed this to them. As proof Windblade showed them the mine, where they were attacked. {{storylink|Windblade issue 2}}

==Fiction==
===IDW Generation 1 continuity===

Windblade, her bodyguard [[Chromia (G1)|Chromia]], and [[Nautica]] joined Thunderclash aboard the ''[[Vis Vitalis]]''. After some time they managed to run into Metroplex, and the three chose to station up inside him to keep him alive. Eventually, a team of Autobots from the ''[[Lost Light]]'' arrived and were able to give Metroplex a jump-start from their ship, allowing them all to [[spacebridge]] back to Cybertron, where a battle between its inhabitants and the [[Necrotitan]] was taking place. {{storylink|Burning Bright: Dark Cybertron Chapter 8|Burning Bright}}

Windblade was surprised to see the other Titan, and asked the other Autobots if they knew Metroplex would have to fight one upon his arrival on Cybertron; Ultra Magnus did not, but suspected Metroplex did. For a moment they considered fleeing Metroplex while he was battling the Necrotitan, in order to remove themselves from danger, but since it was impossible to flee without abandoning some of their own, they remained until Metroplex himself was suddenly restored by [[Megatron (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Megatron]] returning his [[Regenesis]] Ore-laden thumb to him, allowing him to defeat the Necrotitan. {{storylink|Finis Temporis: Dark Cybertron Chapter 9|Finis Temporis}}

After the battle, Windblade spoke to Ultra Magnus on Metroplex's condition as he recovered. Although Windblade had not been able to learn much, she did know Metroplex had picked up the ore at some point, and jettisoned it and his thumb when he was attacked by [[Ammonite]]s. Their discussion was soon interrupted, and Magnus was forced to leave. {{storylink|The Becoming: Dark Cybertron Chapter 10|The Becoming}} However not long afterwards Ammonites began to swarm Cybertron, forcing Magnus to radio Windblade to ask Metroplex for aid. The titan needed no encouragement, and began to fight the horde. {{storylink|Black Planet: Dark Cybertron Chapter 11|Black Planet}}
Upon all of the Ammonites being destroyed by Metalhawk, Windblade and her fellow Camiens were called on by Mainframe to finish Monstructor's component parts off. {{storylink|...And the Damage Done: Dark Cybertron Finale|...And the Damage Done}}
Windblade witnessed the trial of Megatron. {{storylink|World, Shut Your Mouth Part 1: Towards Peace}} Subsequently, she and Ironhide stayed behind on Cybertron under Starscream's leadership as the ''Lost Light'' and the [[Ark-7]] departed. Six months later, Windblade had tried settling into life on Cybertron as it had settled into Metroplex. She had an important role as Cityspeaker to the heavily-damaged Metroplex, though she was a novice at it and Starscream, the planet's leader, grew impatient and suspicious of her. Rolling blackouts threatened the city, and after she investigated the cause of those with Chromia, she also sought advice for how to best interact with Starscream. After talking with many of the denizens of [[Blurr (G1)|Blurr]]'s bar, she came to the sobering realization that Starscream was a scheming opportunist who shouldn't be trusted. Not long after this revelation, an explosion seriously damaged her and put her under medical care. Moments before the explosion, she'd seen [[Rattrap (BW)|Rattrap]], Starscream's henchman, leaving the scene, and as she awoke from her medical bed, seeing Starscream approach her, she suspected Cybertron's leader had tried to kill her. {{storylink|A 'Bot and Her City}}

After giving Windblade a veiled threat, Starscream and Rattrap departed. Windblade revealed to Chromia that she had found traces of explosives, before the bodyguard discovered reporters spying on them. Later the two of them met up with Ironhide, who they had sent to guard Metroplex's brain. Windblade searched Metroplex's brain for reasons why Starscream would cause the blackouts, when Chromia noticed that [[Waspinator (BW)|Waspinator]] had let slipped in an interview that he knew something. Windblade was able to convince him to show her what he discovered despite his unwillingness to talk; a "mine" Starscream had build inside Metroplex, used to sift the Titan for the Regenesis ore in his body. Windblade returned to the reporters and revealed this to them. As proof Windblade showed them the mine, where they were attacked. {{storylink|Windblade issue 2}}
Windblade, her bodyguard [[Chromia (G1)|Chromia]], and [[Nautica]] joined Thunderclash aboard the ''[[Vis Vitalis]]''. After some time they managed to run into Metroplex, and the three chose to station up inside him to keep him alive. Eventually, a team of Autobots from the ''[[Lost Light]]'' arrived and were able to give Metroplex a jump-start from their ship, allowing them all to [[spacebridge]] back to Cybertron, where a battle between its inhabitants and the [[Necrotitan]] was taking place. {{storylink|Burning Bright: Dark Cybertron Chapter 8|Burning Bright}}

Windblade was surprised to see the other Titan, and asked the other Autobots if they knew Metroplex would have to fight one upon his arrival on Cybertron; Ultra Magnus did not, but suspected Metroplex did. For a moment they considered fleeing Metroplex while he was battling the Necrotitan, in order to remove themselves from danger, but since it was impossible to flee without abandoning some of their own, they remained until Metroplex himself was suddenly restored by [[Megatron (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Megatron]] returning his [[Regenesis]] Ore-laden thumb to him, allowing him to defeat the Necrotitan. {{storylink|Finis Temporis: Dark Cybertron Chapter 9|Finis Temporis}}
After the battle, Windblade spoke to Ultra Magnus on Metroplex's condition as he recovered. For a moment they considered fleeing Metroplex while he was battling the Necrotitan, in order to remove themselves from danger, but since it was impossible to flee without abandoning some of their own, they remained until Metroplex himself was suddenly restored by [[Megatron (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Megatron]] returning his [[Regenesis]] Ore-laden thumb to him, allowing him to defeat the Necrotitan. {{storylink|Finis Temporis: Dark Cybertron Chapter 9|Finis Temporis}}

After the battle, Windblade spoke to Ultra Magnus on Metroplex's condition as he recovered. Although Windblade had not been able to learn much, she did know Metroplex had picked up the ore at some point, and jettisoned it and his thumb when he was attacked by [[Ammonite]]s. Their discussion was soon interrupted, and Magnus was forced to leave. {{storylink|The Becoming: Dark Cybertron Chapter 10|The Becoming}} However not long afterwards Ammonites began to swarm Cybertron, forcing Magnus to radio Windblade to ask Metroplex for aid. The titan needed no encouragement, and began to fight the horde. {{storylink|Black Planet: Dark Cybertron Chapter 11|Black Planet}}
Upon all of the Ammonites being destroyed by Metalhawk, Windblade and her fellow Camiens were called on by Mainframe to finish Monstructor's component parts off. {{storylink|...And the Damage Done: Dark Cybertron Finale|...And the Damage Done}}

Six months later, Windblade had tried settling into life on Cybertron as it had settled into Metroplex. She had an important role as Cityspeaker to the heavily-damaged Metroplex, though she was a novice at it and Starscream, the planet's leader, grew impatient and suspicious of her. Rolling blackouts threatened the city, and after she investigated the cause of those with Chromia, she also sought advice for how to best interact with Starscream. After talking with many of the denizens of [[Blurr (G1)|Blurr]]'s bar, she came to the sobering realization that Starscream was a scheming opportunist who shouldn't be trusted. Not long after this revelation, an explosion seriously damaged her and put her under medical care. Moments before the explosion, she'd seen [[Rattrap (BW)|Rattrap]], Starscream's henchman, leaving the scene, and as she awoke from her medical bed, seeing Starscream approach her, she suspected Cybertron's leader had tried to kill her. {{storylink|A 'Bot and Her City}}

* In addition to getting a toy, Windblade will also get a special [[IDW Publishing|IDW]] [[The Transformers: Windblade|mini-series]] written by [[Mairghread Scott]] and illustrated by [[Sarah Stone]].
:''First Aid is an [[Autobot]] [[Protectobot (G1)|Protectobot]] from the [[Generation 1 continuity family|Generation 1]] [[continuity family]].''
'''First Aid''' is one of the most empathic and compassionate beings you'll ever meet. He cares deeply about all living things. Heck, he even cares deeply about the "pain" of inanimate objects. A broken or malfunctioning can-opener will earn just as much sympathy and attention as a fellow Autobot. Otherwise, First Aid is a soft-spoken and sometimes overly cautious sort (especially when it comes to the well-being of a fellow Autobot). Still, all the Autobots know he will work long and hard to do his best for them and that their well-being matters to him more than anything, and those are quite comforting thoughts.

First Aid is a member of the subgroup [[Protectobot (G1)|Protectobots]] and forms the left arm of the [[combiner]] robots [[Defensor (G1)|Defensor]], [[Gaia Guardian]] and [[God Guardian]]. Maybe that arm never punches anything?
First Aid is an avowed pacifist. When the [[Insecticon (G1)|Insecticons]] attacked an inhabited city on [[Earth]], [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Optimus Prime]] called upon the Protectobots to evacuate the civilians caught in the crossfire. First Aid helped an injured man discovered by Streetwise. Later, as Earth's orbit was diverted to the [[Sun]] by the [[Combaticon (G1)|Combaticons]], First Aid brought civilians to a meat locker that [[Groove (G1)|Groove]] and Streetwise had commandeered to help the [[human]]s cool down. {{storylink|The Revenge of Bruticus}}

First Aid, as part of Defensor, was the arm that wielded the rifle which totally blew up [[Bruticus (G1)|Bruticus]]. Afterwards, he was with the Protectobots when they saved some window-washers from a burning skyscraper. Later still, First Aid and the other Protectobots were ordered to help defend [[Ark (G1)|Autobot Headquarters]] from a Decepticon attack. They merged into Defensor and activated his useless force field, which almost immediately deactivated, allowing the Decepticons to blast Defensor back into his component parts. {{storylink|B.O.T.
[[File:Firstaidfixesmultramagnus.jpg|upright=1.1|thumb|Well… a little clyster with the fresh machine oil… and your constipation will pass off!]]
In the year [[2006]], First Aid was on [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] for the planet's first peace conference. He participated in a surprise birthday party for [[Daniel Witwicky (G1)|Daniel Witwicky]] along with [[Hot Rod (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Rodimus Prime]], [[Ultra Magnus (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Ultra Magnus]], [[Warpath (G1)|Warpath]], Groove and [[Wheelie (G1)|Wheelie]]. The Combaticons then attacked a nearby shuttle bay, hoping to scrap the ships which would be used to ferry delegates to the conference. First Aid happily blasted away at the Combaticons. After the battle, First Aid was tending to a serious wound Magnus suffered on his back, when he used his own body to shield Wheelie from a Decepticon attack. When attention turned to the damaged shuttle, Ultra Magnus insisted First Aid repair the ship first and deal with his injuries later. Guess he forgot First Aid was a doctor, not a mechanic! (Ol' [[Ratchet (G1)|Ratchet]] sure wouldn't have taken no lip — he would have disconnected the patient's vocal processor first.) {{storylink|Surprise Party}}

When [[Superion (G1)|Superion]] took heavy fire over the [[Junkion (planet)|Planet of Junk]], [[Sky Lynx (G1)|Sky Lynx]] brought him back to Cybertron for repairs. First Aid arrived and began patching up the super-robot. {{storylink|The Big Broadcast of 2006 (episode)|The Big Broadcast of 2006}}
[[File:G1 UltimateWeapon FirstAid fixingfridges.jpg|left|upright=0.95|thumb|You know things are going badly when you find yourself in Silent Hill with an air conditioner as your only companion.]]
The Autobots were asked to help the Dutch authorities deal with French rebels. First Aid wondered why the humans were always fighting amongst themselves. After dispersing the human aggressors, First Aid then helped out [[Blades (G1)|Blades]] when his comrade was shot down by [[Galvatron (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Galvatron]]. While the Autobots held off the loser-ish Decepticons, First Aid carried Blades back to [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]] for repairs. After he finished, the Autobot medic responded to an intruder alert and confronted the Decepticon Swindle stealing Metroplex's [[transformation cog]]. Unfortunately, Swindle managed to make off with his loot because the pacifist Autobot refused to fight back. Despite [[Hot Rod (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Rodimus Prime]]'s attempts to convince him that they didn't expect First Aid to compromise his beliefs, he felt he was a liability to the Autobots and left. After helping [[NUL-A (G1)|some old junker robot]] chug down some oil and repair some refrigerators, First Aid received a pep talk from [[Hot Spot (G1)|Hot Spot]], which convinced him to come back to help the Autobots. While [[Trypticon (G1)|Trypticon]] and Metroplex fought it out, First Aid bravely entered the Autobot giant and re-aligned the stolen transformation cog to suit Metroplex, allowing the Autobot city to transform fully and defeat Trypticon. {{storylink|The Ultimate Weapon}}

Later in [[2006]], First Aid transported [[Jessica Morgan]] to County General Hospital after she was injured in a battle between the [[Technobot (G1)|Technobots]] and the [[Terrorcon (G1)|Terrorcons]]. Despite his helping to restore her ability to walk, the fact that First Aid was a robot had some [[Hate Plague|negative consequences]] because [[Mark Morgan|some]] [[Gregory Swofford|people]] are jerks. {{storylink|The Return of Optimus Prime, Part 1}}
=====''Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers'' manga=====
When the Decepticon combiners attacked a baseball stadium in [[Japan]], the Protectobots and Aerialbots raced to the rescue. After attending to the blaze created by [[Menasor (G1)|Menasor]]'s destruction, First Aid and his team combined into Defensor. However, Defensor's central component was damaged battling Bruticus; with Hot Spot out of action, the Protectobots could not maintain their super-robot form. Getting an idea, the Autobots' human friend [[Kenji]] told [[Superion (G1)|Superion]] to shoot out the legs of the Decepticon super-robots. With their legs damaged, Menasor and Bruticus were left open for First Aid and the other small Protectobots to link up as their new legs, taking over the Decepticons' locomotion, sending them out to sea. {{storylink|Fight!
Later, the [[Constructicon (G1)|Constructicons]] were paving over a natural island paradise, and the Autobots sent a rescue party to save the wildlife and their friends on the island. Due to the medical needs of the mission, First Aid replaced [[Slingshot (G1)|Slingshot]] with the Aerialbots to form Superion. Even linked together, First Aid and the Aerialbots were outclassed against both [[Devastator (G1)|Devastator]] and [[Trypticon (G1)|Trypticon]], until [[Hound (G1)|Hound]] generated a hologram of [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]] to distract the dino-base Decepticon, sending him over a cliff. {{storylink|Fight! =====Scramble City=====
First Aid and the Protectobots participated in the Scramble City project under Ultra Magnus's direction, working towards the construction of [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]]. After the Decepticons uncovered their secret building site, the Protectobots rode into battle alongside the newly completed Metroplex. First Aid and his comrades arrived and formed Defensor just in time to act as the harbinger of Metroplex and his really big gun. {{storylink|Scramble City: Mobilization}}
In [[2010]], [[Galvatron (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Galvatron]] kidnapped the scientist [[Dalton (G1)|Dalton]] in order to upgrade his combiner warriors. First Aid and the Protectobots joined forces with the Aerialbots to rescue Dalton from inside Trypticon. Superion was heavily damaged in the first strike run, however, and Hot Spot needed time in his repair bay mode to bring the Aerialbots back to fighting strength. While Blades snuck into Trypticon alone to rescue Dalton, First Aid, Streetwise and Groove defended Hot Spot against both Menasor and Bruticus. They held out long enough for the Aerialbots to be revived. After the Aerialbots distracted the Decepticons, Blades completed his mission and the Autobots rolled out for Scramble City with Dalton in tow. {{storylink|The Great Transformer War issue 1|The Great Transformer War #1}}
In [[2011]], Galvatron attacked Cybertron looking to take control of [[Vector Sigma]]. First Aid and the Protectobots were active in Cybertron's defense as Defensor during the assault. {{storylink|Four Warriors Come out of the Sky}} {{storylink|The Mystery of Planet Master}} Later, First Aid's team assembled on Earth at Ultra Magnus's command. Their mission was to stop the Decepticons from interfering with [[Hot Rod (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Hot Rod]] and the [[Headmaster (technology)|Headmaster]]s, who were searching for the hidden location of the [[Matrix of Leadership]]. On a security sweep, the Protectobots ran across their old nemeses, the Combaticons, and went into battle. The two teams quickly assumed their combined forms as Bruticus and Defensor, as the fighting escalated. {{storylink|Birth of the Fantastic Double Prime}}

[[File:JHeadmasters09Tracks.jpg|thumb|upright=1.1|Just what the doctor ordered!]]
When Galvatron made another strike on Cybertron, this time to steal the super-metal [[Cybertonuron]], First Aid and the Protectobots assembled before the [[space bridge]] on Earth to be transported into battle. As he helped defend the planet, First Aid was seen delivering a mighty kick to the face of... his fellow Autobot [[Tracks (G1)|Tracks]]. Seeking out the Combaticons on the battlefield, the Protectobots soon formed Defensor and fought once more with Bruticus. {{storylink|Cybertron Is in Grave Danger, Part 1}} Defensor and Bruticus's battle continued as Defensor delivered a devastating smash to Bruticus's back. For at least part of the battle, the two teams disassembled again for man-to-man combat, {{storylink|Cybertron Is in Grave Danger, Part 2}}

First Aid and the Protectobots were dispatched to [[Peru]] with the [[Trainbot]]s when a volcano erupted, leaving a mountainside village in dire peril. Their rescue mission was blocked by the [[Predacon (G1)|Predacons]]. [[Shouki]] and the Trainbots occupied the fiends so that the Protectobots could proceed on to the village and protect the innocent lives. Nevertheless, the Protectobots failed to reach the village, as they were intercepted by the Decepticons' second wave, the [[Headmaster (technology)|Headmasters]]. True to his devout pacifism, First Aid was not seen engaging in battle until the Protectobots formed Defensor. This left them grouped together and vulnerable, however, to an underhanded attack. Defensor was taken out of action by [[Mindwipe (G1)|Mindwipe]]'s paralysis ray, which was strong enough to force First Aid and the Protectobots apart and leave them completely immobilized. {{storylink|The Dormant Volcano Mysteriously Erupts}}

First Aid and the Protectobots were part of a strike team that flew to the [[Moon (moon)|moon]] to disrupt Scorponok's gathering of Decepticons. They immediately formed Defensor upon entering the battle. {{storylink|Return of the Immortal Emperor}} When the planet [[Sandra (planet)|Sandra]] sent out a distress call asking for energy, the Autobots of Earth responded. While they were loading the Trainbots full of supplies, however, Galvatron and the Decepticons arrived to take the energy for themselves. First Aid and the Protectobots fought back against the enemy, and formed Defensor to counter Devastator on the battlefield. {{storylink|SOS from Planet Sandra}}

After the death of Ultra Magnus, the Autobots were desperately trying to pick up the slack during Sixshot's campaign of destruction around the globe. First Aid and the Protectobots assembled as Defensor to go out and confront Sixshot at one of the attack sites, but they apparently didn't fare too well. {{storylink|The Emperor of Destruction Vanishes on an Iceberg}} When the Decepticons seemingly abandoned Earth, First Aid and the Protectobots assisted Spike in rebuilding the planet after the enemy's departure. By combining into Defensor, the Protectobots helped Raiden and Computron obliterate the base, wiping out all trace of the Decepticons' presence. {{storylink|Miraculous Warriors, Targetmasters (Part 1)}}

Following a lengthy period of inactivity, the Decepticons renewed their attacks on Earth. With [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Fortress]] still off in space, Spike Witwicky dispatched First Aid and the Protectobots to attend to the threats. In Canberra, [[Australia]], the Protectobots confronted Bruticus at one of Scorponok's new Death Towers. As Defensor, the Protectobots were beaten severely by Bruticus, and First Aid was even knocked out of the arm socket. Using Scramble Power, Defensor switched Streetwise up to his shoulder and reattached First Aid as a leg, still carrying his fireball cannon. Despite this cunning(?) trick, Defensor was defeated by Bruticus. {{storylink|The Final Showdown on Earth (Part 1)}} As part of Defensor, First Aid participated in the Autobots final battle with Scorponok's Decepticons at the North Pole. =====Metrowars=====
First Aid was stationed at [[Metroplex (G1)|Scramble City]] while it was under reconstruction after an attack from [[Metrotitan (Zone)|Metrotitan]]. When Metrotitan and the Decepticons attacked again, the reborn Metroplex transformed and First Aid helped [[Superion (G1)|Superion]] man one of Metroplex's cannons. With Metroplex's firepower, the Decepticons were sent retreating. {{Storylink|Metrowars}}
First Aid and the other Protectobots were created on Earth by [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]] and the Autobots after they stole a recording of [[Devastator (G1)|Devastator]]'s combiner transformation sequence and modified it ''(and after [[Optimus Prime (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Optimus Prime]] and [[Buster Witwicky (G1)|Buster Witwicky]] shared a [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]]-induced vision of the future with the [[Special Teams]] in it).'' {{storylink|Second Generation!}}
Having learned of a Decepticon plot to acquire the human-made [[hydrothermocline]], Optimus Prime brought the Protectobots with him to [[Energy Futures Industries]] in order to guard the device. After [[Megatron (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Megatron]] and the [[Combaticon (G1)|Combaticons]] arrived ready for a fight, the Transformers allowed themselves to be convinced of a better solution by [[Ethan Zachary]], an employee of EFI. Zachary would upload their minds into a video simulation program known as [[Multi-World]], allowing the Transformers to do battle without damaging the hydrothermocline or the surrounding area. Inside the game world, First Aid and [[Streetwise (G1)|Streetwise]] were exploring Vineland when their path was blocked by a web of thick vines. First Aid wanted to blast through, but Streetwise thought better of it and merely lifted the vines out of their way. They were caught off-guard by the Combaticons [[Brawl (G1)|Brawl]] and [[Swindle (G1)|Swindle]], but were then miraculously saved by the living vines they had refrained from destroying moments ago. First Aid then used his [[decrystallizer cannon]] on the Decepticons, making them brittle enough for Streetwise to shatter with a burst from his compressed air cannon.

Apparently, First Aid's pacifism doesn't extend to ''virtual'' combat. {{storylink|Afterdeath!}}

''First Aid was later displaced to [[Limbo]] right before [[Bumblebee (G1)/Marvel Comics continuity|Bumblebee]]'s eyes, in order to make room for [[Death's Head (G1)|Death's Head]].'' {{storylink|Wanted: Galvatron — Dead or Alive!}}
And, when Grimlock chose to disobey Prime's directives and make a tactical first strike against [[Jhiaxus (G2)|Jhiaxus]]'s ships, First Aid went with him. They were quickly found out and captured, though, leaving it to Optimus to bail them out of trouble. {{storylink|Devices and Desires! (Marvel)|Devices and Desires!}}
Sometime later, First Aid was working with a science team alongside [[Perceptor (G1)|Perceptor]] and [[Wheeljack (G1)|Wheeljack]]. They attempted to find out what had devastated the population of [[J'asik]], down to the cellular level. In [[2012]] First Aid travelled to a devastated Earth with Optimus Prime and a group of other Autobots to confront Megatron. After fighting his way through Megatron's lobotomised [[zombie]] army, the medic attended to [[Kup (G1)|Kup]] and injected him with an anti-toxin that would hopefully regress the [[Scraplet]] infection the captive Wrecker had been infected with. The checkup was interrupted by an alarm, which First Aid announced indicated a Decepticon attack. [[File:SpotlightJazz FirstAid Tracks.jpg|thumb|left|upright=1.1|Pictured: The incident that caused OralSurgeon to be demoted to First Aid.]]
In the early days of the war, First Aid was part of an extraction team who located the damaged pair of [[Jazz (G1)|Jazz]] and [[Tracks (G1)|Tracks]] following their skirmish with the [[Predacon (G1)|Predacons]]. He performed initial repairs on both of them, bringing Tracks back online. {{storylink|Spotlight: Jazz}} About four million years ago, he was seen chatting with his comrades [[Brawn (G1)|Brawn]] and [[Cosmos (G1)|Cosmos]] during a victory celebration. {{storylink|The Iron Age}}

First Aid was eventually assigned to [[Delphi]], an Autobot emergency medical facility on [[Messatine]]. Like any emergency room, Delphi experienced brief flurries of activity followed by long cycles of nothing but routine patient care and waiting for the next disaster. While passing the time First Aid became an avid subscriber to ''[[Wreckers: Declassified]]'', the adventures of the Autobots' most elite strike team compiled by their unofficial biographer, [[Fisitron]]. He often found himself reading (and re-reading) [[Pova|Datalog 113: Showdown at Pova]] whenever his work lagged.

Five years into his tour at Delphi, First Aid had his own brush with the Wreckers. [[Springer (G1)|Springer]] approached him with a rather unique request at a medical conference on the [[Kimia Facility]]. Springer had a mole deep within the [[Decepticon Justice Division]] known only as [[Agent 113]]. Paranoid to a fault, the mole had a highly unusual means of delivering messages to his Autobot contacts: In battle, he would ''shoot'' a fellow Autobot with pinpoint accuracy through the right "eye" of their faction symbol. Instead of combustible energon, these bullets contained a data-chip with his report inside. First Aid was one of several medics secretly recruited by Springer to always be on the lookout for Agent 113's calling card.

[[File:first-aid-jumpstart.jpg|thumb|upright=1.1|"Have you any idea how many [[Skullcruncher]]s I had to buy to make these jump leads?" "Yes:4."]]
First Aid eagerly accepted the "secret mission" and checked over every patient that came through his emergency room doors from then on. Not the subtlest of Autobots, First Aid developed a reputation for his eccentric behavior of constantly checking over his fellow Autobots' insignias. He was even referred to Autobot psycho-analyst [[Rung (G1)|Rung]] to see if his curious obsession was part of a deeper psychosis, eventually leading to [[Ambulon (G1)|Ambulon]] demoting him to nurse.

One night after the [[Surge (event)|Surge]], First Aid was giving the once over to [[Dogfight]]'s recon team after a skirmish with the DJD when he finally discovered one of Agent 113's bullets. The encoded information he delivered to Springer led to the Wreckers' ill-fated mission on [[Garrus-9]]. {{storylink|Bullets}}

When the [[Red Rust]] virus broke out in Delphi, First Aid, Ambulon and [[Pharma (G1)|Pharma]]'s efforts to treat it seemed to be in vain, forcing First Aid to call for help by transmitting the facility's patient survival statistics through the [[subspace]] network once used to distribute the ''Wreckers: Declassified'' datalogs. This attracted the attention of [[Ratchet (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Ratchet]], who brought [[Drift (G1)|Drift]] and [[Pipes (G1)|Pipes]] to Delphi where First Aid told them about the outbreak. Using "jump-starting", a new method of [[spark]] resuscitation he had invented himself, he later used his own spark to revitalize a comatose Fortress Maximus just in time to save the others from a pair of [[Genericon]]s believed to have spread the virus. {{storylink|Life After the Big Bang}} After Fortress Maximus killed the Genericons, it was discovered that Pharma was the culprit behind the virus, a fact that First Aid had long suspected. In the chaos that followed, First Aid took charge to save the patients around him. After Pharma was defeated and Ratchet used the villain's vaccine to cure Delphi of its virus, First Aid returned to the ''[[Lost Light]]'' with Ratchet. Ratchet promised to promote the nurse to Chief Medical Officer in place of himself after witnessing his actions. {{storylink|How Ratchet Got His Hands Back}} To First Aid's silent annoyance, however, Ratchet showed no signs of relinquishing the title any time soon, leaving him Chief Medical Officer-in-training. {{storylink|Little Victories}}

First Aid was repairing a dismembered [[Dipstick]] when he and much of the crew were frozen in place by one of [[Brainstorm]]'s experimental weapons. {{storylink|The Reluctant Specialist}} After Fortress Maximus went on a small shooting spree inside the Lost Light, First Aid helped Ratchet treat the victims. He failed to notice the pattern Ratchet saw in them: they all resembled Overlord. {{storylink|Interiors}}

Later, First Aid, Ambulon, and Ratchet were instrumental in saving Rung's life after he was accidentally shot in the head by [[Swerve (G1)|Swerve]]. {{storylink|Rules of Disengagement}} First Aid was among the crew members that had been shrunken by Brainstorm's mass-displacement cannon and sent to destroy some [[Nanocon]]s inside Ultra Magnus that had been mysteriously revived. First Aid was resized after the Nanocons were destroyed and attended [[Tailgate (G1)|Tailgate]]'s Autobot Initiation Ceremony and asked [[Whirl (G1)|Whirl]] what he had graffitied inside Ultra Magnus' body but the ceremony began before Whirl could make a full answer. First Aid then told [[Skids (G1)|Skids]] that Ambulon was handling some offline crew members that had suddenly came back to life. {{storylink|Primus: You, Me, and Other Revelations}} After the situation was handled, First Aid joined a few Autobots for movie night in [[Rewind (G1)|Rewind]]'s hab-suite where they watched "Proteus's Promise". {{storylink|Scavengers (Part 2): Who's Afraid of the DJD?|Who's Afraid of the DJD?}}
When someone tried to kill [[Red Alert (G1)|Red Alert]], First Aid and Ambulon went to work fixing him up.
Following the return of the ''[[Leading Light]]'' from [[Temptoria]], First Aid tended to the rapidly-fading [[Rewind (G1)|Rewind]] and talked [[Chromedome (G1)|Chromedome]] into giving the small Autobot a jumpstart. Unfortunately he had to break the news that it hadn't worked. As it turned out, Whirl also had a compatible [[spark]], and First Aid successfully carried out the procedure with him. {{storylink|Before & After}} First Aid later helped Tailgate throw an "alt-mode party" in an attempt to get Rung to transform, and appeared in one of Rewind's documentaries to explain how the ''[[Vis Vitalis]]'' worked. {{storylink|Little Victories}} When [[Overlord (Masterforce)|Overlord]] was let loose on the ''Lost Light'' and stabbed Ultra Magnus through the spark, First Aid rushed to his aid but sadly recognized the injury to be fatal. {{storylink|Under Cold Blue Stars}}

First Aid and Ambulon were in the medbay when the [[Legislator]]s invaded the Lost Light, giving First Aid ample opportunity to use his [[wikipedia:Side grip|side-grip]] method of weapon handling. {{storylink|Remain in Light 2 of 5: House of Ambus|House of Ambus}} Not that it helped, the ship was overrun, and both 'bots found themselves teleported to Pharma's new lab on [[Moonbase One|Luna 1]]. While Ratchet then revealed that the reason he couldn't help was that Ambulon was already dead, he saw the truth in First Aid's words and promised to officially hand over the title of Chief Medical Officer once they'd caught Pharma. First Aid, however, saw no reason to show the corrupt medic any mercy. {{storylink|Remain in Light 4 of 5: Arm the Lonely|Arm the Lonely}}

First Aid was soon able to confront Pharma, and was enraged that rather than show remorse for his murders of patients or Ambulon, the rogue medic was ''amused'' by them. When he went so far as to laugh at Ambulon's death, the younger medic snapped and executed him on the spot, then realized what he'd done and broke down. He was comforted by Rung, but on returning to the ''Lost Light'' he shut himself in and refused to talk to anyone. {{storylink|Remain in Light 5 of 5: This Calamitous Life|This Calamitous Life}}
Her friend and bodyguard [[Chromia (G1)|Chromia]] can get frustrated at times with the strength of Windblade's convictions, and Chromia believes Windblade trusts too much.
Windblade was a Transformer who hailed from the planet/city of Caminus. Like her fellow inhabitants she had been cut off from [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] for millions of years, and had adapted into a more feminine form. Her people's isolation ended with the arrival of [[Thunder Clash]], who had come seeking help from a Cityspeaker in order to aid [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]]. {{storylink|A 'Bot and Her City|A Bot and Her City}} The Autobot had been sent by [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]] as the ancient 'bot was otherwise engaged.
After some time they managed to run into Metroplex, and the three chose to station up inside him to keep him alive. Eventually, a team of Autobots from the ''[[Lost Light]]'' arrived and were able to give Metroplex a jump-start from their ship, allowing them all to [[spacebridge]] back to Cybertron, where a battle between its inhabitants and the [[Necrotitan]] was taking place. {{storylink|Burning Bright: Dark Cybertron Chapter 8|Burning Bright}}
Windblade was surprised to see the other Titan, and asked the other Autobots if they knew Metroplex would have to fight one upon his arrival on Cybertron; Ultra Magnus did not, but suspected Metroplex did. Windblade was a Transformer who hailed from the planet of Caminus. Like her fellow inhabitants she had been cut off from [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] for millions of years, and had adapted into a more feminine form. Windblade, her bodyguard [[Chromia (G1)|Chromia]], and [[Nautica]] joined Thunder Clash aboard the ''[[Vis Vitalis]]''. Thunder Clash had been sent by [[Alpha Trion (G1)|Alpha Trion]] as the ancient 'bot was overwise engaged. After some time they managed to run into Metroplex, and the three chose to station up inside him to keep him alive. Eventually, a team of Autobots from the ''[[Lost Light]]'' arrived and were able to give Metroplex a jump-start from their ship, allowing them all to [[spacebridge]] back to Cybertron, where a battle between its inhabitants and the [[Necrotitan]] was taking place. {{storylink|Burning Bright: Dark Cybertron Chapter 8|Burning Bright}}
Windblade was surprised to see the other Titan, and asked the other Autobots if they knew Metroplex would have to fight one upon his arrival on Cybertron; Ultra Magnus did not, but suspected Metroplex did. For a moment they considered fleeing Metroplex while he was battling the Necrotitan, in order to remove themselves from danger, but since it was impossible to flee without abandoning some of their own, they remained until Metroplex himself was suddenly restored by [[Megatron (G1)/IDW Generation 1 continuity|Megatron]] returning his [[Regenesis]] Ore-laden thumb to him, allowing him to defeat the Necrotitan. {{storylink|Finis Temporis: Dark Cybertron Chapter 9|Finis Temporis}}
Speaking of her Japanese motifs, her finalized helmet was apparently designed to resemble the hairstyle commonly worn by the ''[[wikipedia:onna_bugeisha|onna bugeisha]]'', the upper-class warrior-women of feudal Japan.
* In addition to getting a toy, Windblade will also get a special [[IDW Publishing|IDW]] [[The Transformers: Windblade|mini-series]] written by [[Mairghread Scott]] and illustrated by [[Sarah Stone]].
* At [[Toy Fair 2014]], Windblade was noted as being the handiwork of designer [[Lenny Panzica]], who put "probably five times as much energy" into her than the rest of his workload.
