Though he was nowhere to be found she did stumble across a group [[Wreck-Gar (G1)|of]] [[Blurr (G1)#Generation 1 cartoon continuity|strange]] [[Blaster (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|and]] [[Rewind (G1)|powerful]] [[Ramhorn (G1)|robots]] that improbably also wore the [[Insignia|slave brand]].

After rescuing them from a Dark Guardian, Beta secured their help in the revolt. The strange robots did their part until A-3 returned, much to Beta's bear-hugging joy, and saved the day. Beginning in 2011, [[IDW Publishing]] began a second reprinting of the [[The Transformers (Marvel comic)|Generation 1]] [[Marvel Comics]] in full-color trade paperback omnibuses a year after completing their previous ''[[Classic Transformers]]'' reprint series. The difference this time being that these volumes contain all the omitted issues that were excluded from the previous release due to those issues featuring copyrighted characters such as [[Spider-Man]] or [[Circuit Breaker (G1)|Circuit Breaker]]. The digital version of volume 1 sold at ComiXology did not feature [[Prisoner_of_War!|the]] [[DIS-Integrated Circuits!|issues]] featuring these characters, but all other volumes released digitally have featured Circuit Breaker's issues. Due to the restoration of the missing issues, however, this results in these volumes being released in a smaller format with fewer chapters than before. In addition, the previous listed price of $19.99 of the ''Classic Transformers'' volumes has been upped to $24.99. On the plus side (depending on who you ask), these volumes have been freshly remastered and recolored. [[Mark W. Bellomo]] provides editorial content, and [[Guido Guidi]] provides new cover art.

==Restoration==
The original comics featured in these volumes featured the four-color printing common to Marvel comics at the time, which used ben-day dots to create layers of color. This dotted look has been replicated in most previous reprints of these comics, including the original Transformers UK reprints, the Titan reprint volumes and all of IDW's previous reprints. For these new reprints the comics were recolored with modern digital techniques which allow them to take advantage of modern printing techniques which produce smooth colors. The new colorations were based on the original color layouts done by Nel Yomtov. (Or more accurately they're based on the original colour separations done by some anonymous old lady who didn't give a rat's head about the final product, but sure, let's blame Yomtov.)

Considering the original Marvel prints featured huge numbers of coloring errors, printing errors and look very dated, updating the colors is a welcome, well overdue addition. The problem is that the final result leaves a lot to be desired. The new colours are inconsistent, often muddy, and in many cases add new errors where there weren't any before. Some of the problems with the new restored versions include:
*"Correction" of characters' original color schemes, including rendering Soundwave in blue instead of purple, or rendering Wheeljack with black instead of blue, etc. (Fortunately some comic original schemes like Megatron's black helmet, or Ratchet's red helmet, were left untouched.)
*Inconsistent application of new colors -- Soundwave is blue now on MOST pages, except where they forgot and left him purple.
*Introduction of new errors -- sometimes things that were colored correctly originally have been miscolored for the new editions.
*Failed attempts at correcting errors -- some attempts at correcting errors in the original coloring haven't succeeded because of problems with the original linework. Some attempts were just inept. In particular, insisting on using scans of the original US printings as a basis for the remasters, rather than the better quality UK reprints.
*Failure to pick up on errors -- a lot of errors in the original coloring simply weren't picked up on. This is especially the case when the original colour layouts mask the error in some way, like coloring part of a robot's body the same as a background element.
*Removal of original artwork -- a lot of the time when there is inked shading using Ben-Day dots this has been confused with the Ben-Day technique used to colour the original comics and the Ben-Day shading has been removed completely. This can change the tone of some of the art drastically. (Yes, that was a deliberate pun. Change the tone, get it it?)
*Generally dark and muddy printing -- while the digital versions are generally crisp and pleasant to look at, the printed versions of the restorations are very dark and sometimes muddy, making details that were crisp in the original printings seem unclear or obscured.
*Using scans from copies with smudged or damaged artwork as the basis for the remasters, and either failing to notice or fix those flaws, or fixing them in a very crude manner.

Hot-tempered and aggressive, Scylla is a delinquent through and through, a salty pirate wench who doesn't take lip from anyone.

Anyone, that is, except the object of her affections, [[Scuba]]. The [[Maximal]] squid has all the right tentacles in all the right places, and she won't give up until he returns her longing affection. This is a big problem for Scuba, whose primary interests are "peace and quiet" and "being left alone". Making matters worse is [[Bighorn]], who's totally head over heels for Scylla, even willing to fight his fellow Maximals (especially Scuba) over it. Scylla doesn't care about this at all and will happily exploit this infatuation in battle if the opportunity arises.

Yes, once you get past her bad temper and romantic dalliances, Scylla is indeed a capable pirate, with her beast mode granting her a mighty grip, tentacle lasers, and her deadly Blown Kiss of Death, a floating electric grenade launched from her lips. (Holy crap, what lipstick does she use?)

Realizing her suspicion, the [[Maximal]]s fled and Scylla alerted Halfshell of the intruders. The captain went off to pursue while Scylla was ordered to keep working. After battle between Halfshell and the Maximals was underway, the other four Seacons were called in so that they could form [[God Neptune]]. The Seacons set to repairing their damaged ship, but Scylla found herself obsessed with the Maximal squid she saw earlier and wandered off to find him. Scuba did not comprehend her affections, taking them as a feint for an attack. After Scuba took his leave, [[Sea Phantom]] found the wayward Seacon and ordered her back to the ship. Scylla initially refused, but when [[Bighorn]]—infatuated with the "Squid Lady"—came charging, the two Seacons ran. At the ship, Scylla thought she saw Scuba in the distance, but when it was revealed to be Bighorn again, the disgusted Seacon attacked the Maximal, who still would not be dissauded from his love. Scylla again went off to seek Scuba, to the other Seacons' deteriment as they tried to form God Neptune. She spotted Scuba again, this time getting missiles to the face. With Scylla finally staying put, God Neptune was successfully formed and the Maximals were sent into retreat. When Halfshell made a deal with [[Megastorm]] to take down the Maximals, Scylla was assigned to a spot in the jungle where [[Tasmania Kid]] showed up to investigate an apparent Angolmois Energy signature. Transforming into robot mode, Scylla chased Kid in circles till Megastorm, who had engineered bombs to take out both the Seacons and Maximals, stumbled into the scene and was the only one blown away by the bomb meant for Scylla. {{storylink|Megastorm's Reckoning}} When [[Galvatron (BW)|Galvatron]] mocked the Seacons' ineptitude, Scylla helped her distraught boss by suggesting that they lure out the Maximals using Bighorn's obsession with her. When Scuba showed up, Scylla entrapped him in her tentacles, "protecting" and preventing him from joining the greater battle. Scuba managed to escape her grasp using his ink and rescued the Maximals from the other Seacons. With all of the Maximals gathered on a floating rock, Scylla bemoaned being unable to protect Scuba anymore as she joined in forming God Neptune. Bighorn, still intent on winning the heart of his "Squid Lady", formed a plot with the [[Jointron]]s—the Jointrons would kidnap Scylla and Bighorn would charge in and "rescue" her, becoming her knight in shining armor. Lured out with a fake love letter assumed to be from Scuba, Scylla met the Jointrons and was stuffed into a sack, much to her displeasure. Eventually, [[DJ (BW)|DJ]] lost his grip and Scylla was sent tumbling off, where she got headbutted by the unknowing Bighorn. Incensed by her treatment all day, the furious Seacon attacked and soon formed God Neptune. She came across [[Bighorn]], who immediately became infatuated with the pirate, leaving her behind to ask [[Scuba]] for assistance in composing a love letter and delivering it. When the letter was delivered, Scylla immediately took to the heartfelt romance... confusing Scuba for "Bighorn" and asking for marriage! The male squid, not quite understanding her returning affections, sped off to ask Bighorn for his answer.

With the aid of her fellow Seacons, Scylla set up an elaborate wedding. But when Bighorn showed up as the groom, the baffled and angry Scylla forcefully rejected the supposed impostor and grabbed her true love, Scuba, from the audience. This in turn, infuriated Bighorn, who challenged Scuba for Scylla's heart. The duel was ended when Scylla leapt in front of Scuba and insisted on her dislike of the bison. Just as Bighorn fell to his knees in heartbreak, [[Galvatron (BW)|Galvatron]]'s [[Predacon (BW)|Predacons]] attacked. The Seacons quickly formed [[God Neptune]], but the Predacons' firepower felled the combiner, except for Scylla, who was protected by Bighorn. With Scylla's pull of Bighorn's tail, the [[Maximal]] was able to unleash the Buffalo Missile, which, along with Scuba's Dynamite Surumerangs, sent the Predacons fleeing.

She was present when Blackarachnia introduced [[Lio Convoy]] and demonstrated his [[Energon Matrix|energon matrix]], explaining that it was the key to liberating Cybertron from [[Builder of Cybertron|Builder]] rule. Later, she participated in an attack on the [[Dodecahex]] Arena. She and [[B'Boom]] took out the [[Maximal Command Security Force|MCSF]] members guarding [[Override (BWU)|Override]]'s control room so that Blackarachnia could hijack Override's broadcasting equipment. This allowed Lio Convoy to publicly expose the Builders' scheme to use the Maximals and Predacons to endlessly continue the Autobot-Decepticon conflict for the Builders' amusement and call for the overthrow of the Builders. Scylla rose in the ranks of the Resistance as it grew, eventually becoming admiral of the Navy when it formed. In the Last Push on Iacon, Scylla commanded the entire Resistance Navy in sailing around the [[Hydrax Plateau]] to brave the [[Maxilla]] and the [[Yuss Naval Batteries]] guarding the river to Iacon. Lio Convoy and the ground troops successfully overcame the Maxilla and turned the Yuss batteries against those on the Iacon side, freeing Scylla's fleet to engage the Builder Navy without additional resistance.

Scylla and the ''Broadside'' matched wits against [[Banzai-Tron (G1)|Banzai-Tron]] and the ''[[Tidal Wave (G1)|Tidal Wave]]''. Once the Resistance detected a subsea force of Micromasters approaching them from below, Scylla had her fleet maintain course and fortify their shields below sea-level to withstand the initial barrage. Once the Micromasters had committed to the assault, Scylla signaled [[Cybershark]] and the more versatile aquatic protoformers to attack the Micromasters. When Banzai-Tron redistributed troops to support his subsea forces, Scylla was able to drive a wedge between the Builder Navy separating their ranks for the kill.

The Resistance Navy overpowered the Builders, suffering only minimal losses. However, Banzai-Tron committed the ''Tidal Wave'' to a collision course with the ''Broadside''. Scylla directed all available firepower at the flagship, but its sheer tonnage alone would have prevented it from halting. Captain Scylla gave the order to abandon ship, hoping the ''Broadside''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s sailor and infantry troops could somehow make it to shore and safety. When the group set out to harvest [[Fembrance]], Scylla hitched a ride on [[Wedge (RID)|Wedge]]'s cattle trailer to the town. Scylla's English language name is derived from a {{w|Scylla|mythical Greek monster}} of varying characteristics, but often similar to a sort of giant squid. Said monster is consistently female throughout the myths. Also, either name pronunciation ("silla" or "skilla") is technically correct, with the latter being closer to the modern Greek pronunciation.

However, "Scylla" does not match the original name, ''Sukyūre'' (スキュウレ); "Skylla" (Σκύλλα) is transliterated into Japanese as ''Sukyura'' (スキュラ). One possible explanation is that Sukyūre is a corruption of Scylla's name in the ''{{w|Odyssey}}'' poem, Skyllē (Σκύλλη), which is rendered in Japanese as ''Sukyurē'' (スキュレー). Thus, the long vowel is moved to the syllable prior to create ''Sukyūre''. Converting this into Latin letters is fraught, but we've elected to go with "Skyulle" (pronounced something close to scule-leh). The usage of "Scylla" in Western fandom is mostly due to inertia from the early days of ''Transformers'' fan translations, which often had difficulties with corrupted names.

Romanizations of the character's name on official Japanese product are hard to come across. At this point, the only known one is "Squlle" on a Japanese trading card, which may or may not be a misprint. After saving the small frontier community of [[Iron Town]] from a pair of [[Decepticon desperadoes]], Star Saber returned to base to a report of an attack by the Dinoforce on the [[Lunar Base (Victory)|Lunar Base]] on Earth's [[Moon (moon)|moon]] and immediately headed to the scene. As he drew close to the moon, Deathsaurus appeared to bar his way, and the two old foes battled while [[Blacker]], [[Braver]] and [[Laster]] clashed with the Dinoforce. Star Saber broke the fight off when Jan alerted him to the worsening battle on the moon's surface, and he proceeded to dispatch the Dinoforce with ease before Deathsaurus caught up to him and their battle continued. Operating out of the Shuttle Base, Star Saber's Autobots took Earth as a second home of sorts, and staged all their operations from there. Star Saber enrolled Jan at school, flying him there personally for his first day and giving the [[Mayville|headmistress]] quite a shock. Unfortunately for everyone, Star Saber's presence at the school attracted the attention of the Decepticon [[Breastforce]]r [[Leozack]], who put the student body in mortal danger when he attacked. Star Saber separated from the V-Star and had Jan use it to carry the students to safety while he tackled Leozack and the Dinoforce. When the Breastforce began draining electrical energy from a major American subway system, Star Saber proved too large to venture into the tunnels to investigate, and had to divide into Saber and the V-Star to proceed. Investigating the power distribution centre, Saber was confronted by Deathsaurus, and in the cramped quarters of the building, proved to be no match for the villain's nimble Breast Animals. Directing the V-Star to crash into Deathsaurus, Saber forced the Decepticon to block the craft, thereby leaving his unprotected chest open for attack and allowing Saber to impale him with his sword. When the occupied God Ginrai was unable to respond to an attack by Hellbat and [[Black Shadow (G1)|two]] [[Blue Bacchus|mercenaries]] in his employ on the planet [[Micro]], Star Saber was forced to travel to the planet to investigate. With the aid of [[Sixshot (G1)|Greatshot]], Star Saber defeated the villains, but had pushed his strength to its limit to wrench an overloading power plant from its moorings with his bare hands and fly it into space to prevent the devastation its explosion would have caused. {{storylink|Planet Micro - The Mysterious Warrior|Planet Micro - The Mysterious Warrior}} Soon after, the Breastforce attacked the [[Planet Micro Satellite Penitentiary]] in an attempt to free their comrade [[Guyhawk]], and despite fighting hard, Star Saber was unable to prevent the Decepticons' escape. {{storylink|Rescue! Star Saber stared death in the face once again on the return trip to Earth when he was attacked by Deathsaurus and confronted by the emperor's deadly [[Living-Metal-Destroying Cannon]]. Although Deathsaurus actually pulled the trigger on what would have been a fatal blast, it was simple luck for Star Saber that Deathsaurus had already used up too much of his personal energy supply, leaving the cannon unable to fire. {{storylink|Resurrection!? The Decepticon Fortress}} Once back on Earth, Star Saber steeled himself for another confrontation with Liokaiser, and found himself having to soothe the fears of Jan, who was having nightmares of his father's demise. When Liokaiser struck again at the [[Schaeffer Energy]] production plant, Star Saber held his own in the fight, but a definitive outcome was not to be had, since Deathsaurus ordered a retreat when the plant's energy was successfully stolen. {{storylink|Battle Up of Wrath!!}} Another battle between Star Saber and Liokaiser soon followed, this time at the South Pole, where Star Saber was again defeated by the combiner, and would have met his end had Deathsaurus not interrupted and attempted to claim the honor for himself. When a battle with Deathsaurus in the desert left Star Saber and Blacker wounded, {{storylink|Crisis! Ambush in the Desert}} the Decepticons capitalized upon the Autobots' lack of manpower by stepping up their attacks, until Star Saber was left with no option but to enter battle despite his injuries. Confronted by Deathsaurus and Liokaiser in a subterranean cave in Asia, Star Saber was once again saved from the brink of death by God Ginrai, who took the shot meant for his friend. {{storylink|A Deadly Battle}} Fatally wounded with no hope of repair, Ginrai insisted that Star Saber allow him to be deactivated and rebuilt using a power-up design the commander had created. Star Saber was in space seeing Perceptor off when the Dinoforce attacked Jan's school, leaving the boy to defend his friends as best he could in his mech, the [[Illumina II]], before Star Saber was able to come to his aid. After defeating Dinoking, however, Star Saber was surprised to have the battered Dinoforce troops clutch at his legs and throw themselves in his path in an attempt to save their leader, [[Goryu (G1)|Goryu]]. Touched by this genuine display of camaraderie, Star Saber sheathed his sword and told Goryu to be sure to heal properly for their next battle. {{storylink|Jan - Defend the Campus!!}}

While Star Saber was attending a Universal Peace Alliance conference, Leozack attempted to exploit the Autobots' trust of their leader by donning an exoskeleton in his likeness and posing as him in order to obtain information on his combination with Victory Leo. As it happened, only Victory Leo smelled a rat, and in time, the real Star Saber returned to combine with his partner and expose the phoney to the other Autobots. {{storylink|A Mystery?! A month later, after no further Decepticon attacks, Star Saber and the Autobots were suddenly forced to go into action when the Decepticons raised [[Atlantis]] off the coast of [[Portugal]]. Disasters caused by the tidal waves the raising of the continent had created kept the Autobots occupied with relief efforts, allowing the Decepticons to steal enough of Atlantis's energy to finally re-power Deathsaurus's fortress. {{storylink|The Terror of the Giant Tidal Waves}} Greatshot and the Brainmasters headed out to serve as the first line of defence against the fortress, while Star Saber and Victory Leo found themselves delayed by the Dinoforce, who had—unbeknownst even to themselves—been abandoned on Earth by Deathsaurus. As Victory Saber and Dinoking battled, the fortress began bombarding the Earth with meteor bombs, one of which struck Dinoking and ended the battle. Just as the two combatants engaged each other, Jan arrived on the scene in the Illumina II, having been giving information on the fortress's weak spot by Goryu, who had realized that Deathsaurus had abandoned him and his troops. Star Saber separated from Victory Leo, leaving his partner to deal with Liokaiser while he covered his son's entrance into the fortress. Within the fortress, Star Saber faced off against Deathsaurus for their final brutal battle, eventually besting his eternal foe just as Jan succeeded in destroying the fortress's weapon power core. Deathsaurus refused to accept defeat, and sealed Star Saber in the fortress, setting it on collision course with Earth, but with help from Victory Leo, Star Saber escaped. The pair then merged into Victory Saber and, burning with flaming energy, tore the fortress apart from within, causing it to explode in a cosmic firestorm before it collided with Earth. After Jan alerted him to an attack on an Earth city by the Decepticon Leozack, Star Saber came speeding to the rescue, only to be knocked from the sky by the villain's electromagnetic nunchaku. Leozack begged Star Saber not to destroy the fortress, at which point the injured Deathsaurus chose to reveal the true reason for his energy-gathering attacks on Earth to the Autobots: the fortress was, in fact, home to the Decepticon civilians, and they required the energy to keep the fortress functional for them to live in. Star Saber realized that it was time to set aside their warring ways and follow the example set by Jan and Solon. Later, after he joined the Autobots through the Space Bridge, he assumed that the planet was "covered in a brittle exo-skin". Prowl corrected him that the "exo-skin" was actually ice which covers only parts of the Earth. He's a bit dull as Ultra Magnus, as he ranted on how he will not rest in finding Deathsaurus, much to Prowl's chagrin, and mentioned that he lectured at the [[Autobot Academy]], much to Jazz's boredom.

He later told Prowl the reason he spent so much time in the Arctic was that he was looking for his Saber Blade, which is better than the spare he currently wields. So Prowl and Jazz go with Star Saber to find it.

In the Arctic, he was startled by a [[polar bear]], and prepared to defend the others. Jazz told him that it is more scared of him than he is of it, and he replied that he was Justice Warrior of the Year three years in a row.

Soon he ran into Deathsaurus, and he immediately assumed he remained on Earth to conquer and oppress. Deathsaurus responded he was just looking for his lost weapons, but Star Saber would not let him pass. It seemed to Deathsaurus that he was trying to talk him to death.

:The box comes with a reversible slipcover so owners can display it in two different styles. The other side has a more "classic" look with Japanese writing and C-328 serial number, the ''Victory'' logo, and art and photos resembling the original box. :Unfortunately, most if not all Victory Sabers suffer from numerous [[quality control]] issues that resulted in many collector complaints. The most common issues are damage to the [[vacuum metallizing|gold chrome]] on Star Saber's chest-"V" and a diagonal scratch across his mouthplate. The latter in particular occurs identically across multiple figures, leading fans to suspect a problem with the mold itself. Other prominent problems were sword blades that could only be inserted in one of their two advertised angles, nosecone attachment notches that were incompletely formed, leaving the nosecone slanted in vehicle mode, and leg panels that won't fully close in V-Star mode. Some figures also suffer from a minor misassembly where the extendable landing gear in each of his knees are pinned to the wrong legs; the molded details are molded on a slight slant to make them sit parallel with the rest of the leg details—which are also molded on a slight slant, for the figure's bulky legs to naturally stand at an A-stance in robot mode. In some cases, both of his knees feature the exact same landing gear pieces, leaving only one leg with the molded details slanted in the wrong direction. Faced with such widespread concerns about QC, in early 2023 Hasbro / Takara produced a small second run of the set to accommodate those wanting replacements. These second run figures are immediately distinguishable because Star Saber is now packaged with a layer of clear plastic protecting the chest-"V". It is not publicly known how many were produced in this run, but since the only way to receive one was by mailing back one's original set, the total number in potential market circulation should have stayed the same.
