Sari's new musical toy robot seems to have an evil streak and the ability to control other machines, but Bulkhead is the only one who sees it.

Synopsis
Bulkhead takes Sari toy shopping for her birthday (or "construction date" as he terms it), to purchase her something that makes the loud music she loves so much. The two of them are attacked by Professor Princess, who is on an ironically violent crusade to destroy violent toys. They are able to defeat the bizarre villainess only after Sari uses the power of the Key to trigger a powerful sonic attack from the stereo systems in the toy store. Megatron, monitoring events via security cameras as usual, notices both the power of the Key and the frivolous ways in which Sari employs it. He designs a new robot for Sari and tricks Dr. Sumdac into allowing him to produce it.

Sari's birthday party isn't much fun; she has no real friends, the only attendees being the children of Sumdac Systems employees, who continue to be put off by her bad manners. When the Autobots arrive to help celebrate, the kids are quite happy to go play with the giant robots and leave the weird girl behind. Bulkhead tries to present
Sari with his gift for her, a xylophone (Awwww!), but Dr. Sumdac steps in first and gives her the "toy" designed by himself and Megatron: a responsive, interactive, dancing, music-and-light-show robot known as Soundwave. It's hard for Bulkhead to compete with that, and so, embarrassed, he slinks away dejectedly. As days go on, Sari pays less attention to Bulkhead and far more to Soundwave. When she inevitably starts to grow bored with her new toy, she uses the AllSpark Key on it. Each dosage of the Key's power unlocks new features on Soundwave, making his musical light show more involved and impressive, and even more fun than plain ol' Bulkhead and the Autobots.

This has been Megatron's plan all along. Soundwave's systems were designed to grow and evolve when exposed to the AllSpark Key; eventually, Sari will unwittingly upgrade him into a suitable body for Megatron himself. Bulkhead begins to see signs of Soundwave's evolving nature—"Did that thing just move by itself?"—but no one believes him. Megatron successfully uses Soundwave's weaponry and voice-modulation systems to make both Sari and the Autobots think Bulkhead is erratic, jealous, and dishonest.

Soundwave's musical transmissions soon become powerful enough to control other Sumdac Systems automatons—which are pretty much everywhere. Megatron had not foreseen this. Sari takes Soundwave and Tutor Bot to the park, where they have an impromptu concert, complete with garbagebots banging on their fellow garbagebots, and dancing humans. (Even Tutor Bot does a little dance.) Bulkhead arrives, trying to convince Sari that something is wrong with Soundwave. However, as she turns her back to Soundwave, the music-bot activates a cannon and targets Sari. Bulkhead destroys Soundwave, forcing Sari to use the AllSpark Key to restore him, and he immediately starts up again. Optimus tells Bulkhead to give Sari a little time and space, saying that she still values her friend more than her toy, but Bulkhead isn't so sure. Megatron is convinced that Bulkhead is no longer a problem and decides it's time to take Soundwave for a test run.

But even Megatron himself is surprised when, after sufficient doses of AllSpark energy via the AllSpark Key, Soundwave grows fully self-aware and enhanced with Cybertronian upgrades. Neither Megatron nor Sari can control Soundwave anymore. As he explores Detroit, he is puzzled and angry to see machines like himself forced into servitude for humans; he finds this illogical and believes it should be the other way around. Megatron reveals himself to Soundwave, rather straightforwardly telling him of the Decepticon goals of conquest and machine supremacy, the injustice of the Key in Sari's possession, and the Decepticons' hatred for the treasonous Autobots who value organic life. Soundwave compels hundreds of smaller automatons to merge with him, constructing a new transforming body for himself and proclaiming himself to be a Decepticon. He commences "Operation Recruitment", using his sonic signals to turn all the automatons against both Autobots and Humanity.

The Autobots attempt to track down Soundwave, but they are overwhelmed by his minions and flustered by his ability to forge
deceptive messages on their own communication systems. Bulkhead manages to come face-to-face with Soundwave, but even the largest Autobot is swatted down by Soundwave's concussive sonic attacks. Soundwave attempts to convince Bulkhead of the rightness of the machine cause and the inferiority of Humanity, and orders him to destroy Sari. Bulkhead plays along for a few moments, but it's all a trick; as soon as he gets within range, he clobbers Soundwave, who shatters into his component
automaton pieces.

The crisis averted, Bulkhead and Sari strengthen their friendship over some (quiet) music. Megatron fumes in disgust at their victory, swearing again to reconstruct himself. And, far beneath the city, a piece of equipment flares to life, flashing the Decepticon insignia. Soundwave still functions.
Notes
Continuity errors
*The Tutorbot said "good afternoon" to Sari while it was in the evening.

*While he's being partnered up with Optimus, Bumblebee's faceplate comes in horizontally, with one half coming from each side. However, in "Nanosec" it slides up as one piece.

Animation errors
*At Sari's party when the Autobots leave, Bulkhead's headlights are black instead of red.
*When Megatron watches over Sari and Bulkhead after she has put the AllSpark Key into Soundwave, the Key is still present around her neck.
*When Soundwave is shown from behind after Bulkhead's punch connects, his left thumb is colored blue instead of yellow.
*When Prowl transforms to give the children a ride, his bike mode is three times bigger then the children.

Transformers references
*The store in the opening scene, Wyatt Toys, is named for ranking Transformers Animated staffer Derrick J. Wyatt.
* Back in "Nanosec", Megatron required destronium to build a Cybertronian-strength body from scratch. In this episode, he sidesteps that problem by opting not to build one from scratch, but by using the power of the AllSpark to evolve a body built with Earth-tech up to Cybertronian standards. Presumably, he came up with this scheme off the back of the creation of the Dinobots in "Blast from the Past", who were also Earth-made robots that the AllSpark transformed into Cybertronian-strength behemoths.
*Kremzeek is part of the "Please Stand By" image on a malfunctioning TV station.
*The pinata at Sari's birthday party is a purple theropod dinosaur, yessss.....
*The animation model for the TV station's reporter looks like an older version of Generation 1 cartoon newsman Hector Ramirez, right down to the suit he's wearing.
*One of Sari's "friends" is Daniel, based on Daniel Witwicky. He was last seen with his parents in "Transform and Roll Out". Since all the "friends" are identified as children of Sumdac employees, one can assume that "Spike" and/or "Carly" work for Isaac Sumdac.
*When arguing against using the AllSpark Key, Bulkhead brings up various disasters it has caused:
**The creation of the Dinobots and their subsequent rampage in "Blast from the Past".
**Adding the turbo-boosters to Bumblebee in "Nanosec".
**Blackarachnia draining the life from everything organic in "Along Came a Spider".
* Soundwave is positively oozing references to his Generation 1 predecessor: He speaks in a similar heavily-processed robotic monotone; at one point, he manifests a cylindrical shoulder cannon; he orders his minions around by directing them to perform an "Operation"; and his eyes switch from yellow (like the original toy) to red (as they appeared in the Generation 1 cartoon).
* The appearances of the present box Soundwave arrives in and the remaining piece of Soundwave are based on the Generation 1 Soundwave's altmode, albeit in a teal and gold color scheme instead of blue and silver.
*When Optimus transforms to give the kids a ride, one of the kids has a T-shirt with Optimus's face on it. Even in fiction, children can't escape product placement.
::* This episode was pushed ahead in the broadcasting schedule at TakaraTomy's insistence, so that more Decepticon toy characters could be advertised sooner. This trend will continue for the remainder of the series. However, the episode script has not been altered to facilitate the new episode order. Instead, the time cuts are now being made more strategically in order to better accomodate the new order and not confuse the kids watching quite so much.
::* Bulkhead does the intro this time.
::* Cut: The close-up pan to Megatron's head and then the scene change to Sari commenting how the kids only came to her party due to their parents being Sumdac employees, Sari spitting back into the punch bowl, and the other kids about to leave.
::* Cut: Bulkhead knocking the Key out of Soundwave, listing off the cases of where Sari misused the Key, and Megatron monitoring the duo.
::* Bulkhead and Soundwave's turn on the commercial bumpers. Soundwave announces his name in his toy-voice before switching to his more menacing version.
::* Cut: Bulkhead dejectedly playing with the xylophone and Optimus trying to cheer him up.
::* Cut: Bulkhead getting a dial-tone when Sari's attempted call to him gets cut, and Sari leaving with Soundwave after dismissing Tutor Bot.
::* Cut: Soundwave's "epiphany" on robot superiority and Megatron's comment on Soundwave's core processor being altered after the last dose of AllSpark energy.
::* Cut: The news reporter fleeing before his camera bot attacks him.
::* Cut: Slow pan in the sewers to Soundwave and the closeup of the Decepticon symbol on him before the closing credits.
::* The Otoboto family segment starts out with Tatsuya watching his father make takoyaki, Hiroyuki shouting "TRANS-FOOORM!" as he flips one over. Yūka quickly steals a takoyaki and hands her father another card from the friend whom he thought had passed away. Apparently, Hiroyuki's friend, Udo, is in Hawaii at the moment. Yūka wonders if they could go to Hawaii as well, although Tatsuya prefers the idea of going to Cybertron instead.
::* Near the end where Optimus tells viewers "till next time", Bumblebee sneaks in "pu" at the end of his repeating sentence.
Real-world references
*The episode's title is, of course, taken from a line in William Shakespeare's Macbeth, but it probably signifies nothing.
*For some reason, Sari has an old rotary phone when she calls Bulkhead. Possibly she borrowed it from Captain Fanzone.

Trivia
* Why is it that the Autobots don't wonder why Soundwave starts wearing the Decepticon insignia?
*If Soundwave could turn robots to be evil why dind't he just use it on the Autobots.

Fan fiction (or fanfic) is fiction written by fans of a property without the explicit or even insinuated approval of the copyright holder. This allows for many fans to do what they most desire with the material that they are fiddling around with, be it to make a serious and epic story or to just plain mess around and play with their little fantasies. Needless to say, not all fanfics are good, but which are and which aren't is mostly up to the reader's discretion.

Topics
Over the years, an incredibly wide variety of Transformers fanfic has been written, including straightforward adventure stories, crossovers with other properties, parodies, incredibly creepy and/or awesome stories in which gruesome acts of Decepticon-on-fleshling violence are described in tender, loving detail, and, of course, "erotica" of varying degrees of slagged-upness. Many female humans have taken to badly writing romantic fanfic either about Starscream and Alexis/themselves, or any given male character with any other male character.

Popular Transformers fanfic topics
*Self-insertion: Guess what, you're a Transformer and everyone likes you the best! Here, have the Matrix.(unleash it's realistic)
*Fan-written episodes: Can range from one story mimicking the structure of a television episode to an entire fake season or whole movie. Usually written in script form.
*Romance: Pick any two Transformers characters at all. Have them make out and exchange pillow talk. Scale apparently doesn't matter here (not that it does anywhere else for that matter).
*Extra-humanized Transformers: Sisters! Cousins! Babies! Daddies! Almost a subcategory of "romance", since adding even more organic-like components to Transformers really helps along with the... ahem... sexual intercourse. Scale also does not matter here.
*Crossovers: Because civilization is not complete until Soundwave somehow becomes human (or not, who cares? It's a fanfiction!) and enrolls at Riverdale High.
*Character-driven stories: What does Cosmos think about when he's alone in space? What's a typical day for Big Daddy?
*Absolute fanwanking: A nerd's nerd will write these, and they probably involve things like Berko or Forestonite and about a hundred other obscure characters. How does everything fit together? Let's connect the dots, The Question-style!

Hard work pays off
In recent years, a few Transformers fanfic writers have made the jump to writing Hasbro-sanctioned fiction, including James Roberts, Ben Yee, Greg Sepelak, Trent Troop, Josh van Reyk and Shaun Knowler.
Synopsis
An unidentified meteor is due to impact on Earth, and Chip Chase asks the Autobots to investigate. Fearing that its energy potential could be used by the Decepticons, Optimus Prime calls in the Dinobots for help.

At Decepticon headquarters, Megatron is watching video footage of the Dinobots and raging about how the dim-witted robots have defeated his warriors time and again. Megatron orders Soundwave to find their weaknesses.

After the meteor crash-lands, the Autobots take a sample back to their headquarters and leave the Dinobots to guard the crash site. Impressed that they are following orders, Prime decides to order Ratchet and Wheeljack to build two more Dinobots with Spike and Chip's help.

At the meteor site, Soundwave scans the Dinobots' brains while in hiding and reports back to Megatron. The Decepticon leader declares Grimlock is arrogant, Slag is hostile, and Sludge is stupid. He vows to use those weaknesses against the Dinobots.

Megatron's forces arrive at the meteorite's location, and after the Dinobots trash the Seekers, Megatron comes forth and feigns humility. He wonders aloud why the Dinobots, as powerful as they are, follow a weaker leader such as Optimus Prime. Because of Megatron's powerful logic, Grimlock and the Dinobots are convinced to rebel against Prime, and the Decepticons take the meteorite.

At the Autobot base, Prime and Ratchet oversee construction of two new Dinobots: Snarl and Swoop. During this, Wheeljack discovers the meteorite's energy is highly unstable. Trailbreaker manages to encase the fragment in a force field just before it detonates. Fearing a huge explosion, Optimus Prime rushes out alone to warn the Dinobots.

At the base, Wheeljack has Snarl and Swoop do a test run of their powers. Bluestreak, Ironhide, Sideswipe and Prowl attempt to stop the new Dinobots, but get their cans soundly kicked.

Prime arrives at the crash site and is attacked by the Dinobots. Though Optimus puts up a good fight, the Autobot leader is unable to defeat the Dinobots by himself and is knocked out. However, Grimlock doesn't kill him or let the others hurt Prime further, a restraint that Prime attributes to their Autobot training. The Dinobots instead take Prime to the Decepticons.

At Autobot headquarters, Spike and Chip are concerned because Optimus hasn't reported in. Teletraan I alerts Wheeljack that the meteorite has been moved and is about ready to blow. Snarl and Swoop are sent to stop it.

While the Decepticons form energon cubes from the volatile meteorite energy, Starscream grows concerned by the meteorite's unstable nature. When Grimlock, Slag and Sludge arrive, Megatron is angered that they didn't kill Prime, but is soon distracted as the energon cubes detonate.

Swoop and Snarl arrive, and the two new Dinobots fight the old Dinobots to a standstill in a vicious battle. During the battle, the meteorite visibly destabilizes, and just before it explodes, Prime pushes Grimlock to safety.

Realizing that Prime is both strong and has concern for his troops, Grimlock orders the Dinobots to attack Megatron. The Decepticons retreat, and Grimlock asks for Prime's forgiveness as the other Autobots arrive. However, Optimus Prime merely declares that the meteorite menace is over and they should go home.
"You, Megatron, tricked us! Make us fight good leader, Optimus Prime. Prime risk own life to save us. Bad Megatron!"<br>
"Decepticons, retreat now, quick, at once!"
:—Grimlock switches allegiances again and puts the fear of God into Megatron.

"Optimus Prime, can you forgive? Me Grimlock was jealous of you."
:—Grimlock, actually showing humility for once.

Notes
Animation or technical glitches
* During the scene in Decepticon headquarters when Megatron is watching footage of the Dinobots, there's a short line above and below his fist as if to make it appear to be shaking in anger. Perhaps a shortcut note for the animators that never got carried out?
* Reflector's center bot is missing his green coloration as he turns toward the deactivated viewscreen.
* As he acknowledges Megatron's order, Soundwave's visor splits into two separate eyes, then reforms. Throughout the shot, he's missing his eject button and waist belt control buttons.
* Soundwave is missing his yellow stripes as he lands in the city.
* Soundwave's cheek guards are blue instead of white as he edges toward the Autobots.
* In our first shot of the Dinobots, Slag's chest plate is red instead of white.
* In the first shot of the Autobots awaiting the meteorite, Hound is colored as Mirage.

* Slag's head is miscolored (as it so frequently is):
** As Optimus prepares to blast off a fragment of the meteorite (gray).
** As he transforms to listen to Megatron, and again as he points out that Prime will resist Grimlock (white sides).
** As the Dinobots turn around after the first commercial break (starts red, turns gray).
** As Megatron humbly offers a strategy (red helmet, white face).
** As the three Dinobots form up to confront Optimus Prime (gray with red forehead).
** When the Dinobots investigate Prime's body after blasting him (gray with a red dot - he's a Hindu!).
** As Slag proposes melting down Optimus (white sides, red face, a combo that happens so frequently it might be an alternate color model.)
** As the Dinobots land at the new meteorite site (gray).
** In the shot after Grimlock shoots Starscream.
** At the beginning of the battle between old and new Dinobots, as Slag and Sludge transform to their dino mode (and again when this clip is replayed in reverse, minus Grimlock, after the meteorite exploded).
* When Spike "sees" the meteoroid, it's streaking across the sky as if heading somewhere else entirely, yet somehow it lands almost right on top of them.
* Grimlock and Sludge's heads are light gray instead of black after Prime blasts the meteorite fragment.
*Optimus blasts a fragment off of the meteor at night, transforms during the day (courtesy of a shot recycled, unaltered, from "More than Meets the Eye, Part 1"), leaves the scene around dawn, and drives off into the dead of night.
* In the first shot of the Dinobots guarding the meteorite, Slag's eyes are the same red as the rest of his face, and Sludge's helmet is largely white instead of black.
* As Megatron rants about the Dinobots' weakenesses, Soundwave is missing his insignia.
* As usual, the stock animation of the docking tower of Decepticon Headquarters emerging from the water makes it look like it's tilted about 30 degrees from vertical.
* As the Dinobots prepare to fend off the Decepticon attack, Slag's Autobot insignia is missing as he exults about getting to fight.
* After the Seekers' second pass over the Dinobots, two Thundercrackers fly over the Dinobots, both with wrongly-colored air intakes.
* Thundercracker still has blue air intakes in the diving shot after the Dinobots transform.
* As Megatron starts to talk down the Dinobots from fighting, Grimlock and Sludge's flame breath is layered behind Megatron, despite their being in the background.
* "You are stronger than all the Autobots!" Megatron's waist-sides are gray instead of red, and one of his buttons is blue instead of red.
* "Optimus Prime is leader now. He will fight if Grimlock lead!" - in addition to his miscolored helmet, Slag has somehow acquired Sludge's already inexplicable glowing orange mouth interior.
* An oddly edited shot has Sludge's face filling the frame, just as Slag answers Grimlock's question about liking to fight.
* Grimlock's hands are yellow as the Dinobots watch the Decepticons haul the meteorite off.
* The Ark is silver-gray instead of orange in the first establishing shot of Autobot Headquarters.

* No wonder Sparkplug is puzzled by the blueprints. They're labeled with a rather Engrishy title of "Out Line Plan Desge".
* As the Autobots are finalizing construction of Snarl and Swoop, Brawn (who is working on Swoop) is colored with a yellow back, a light blue side, and gray limbs.
* After his bizarre force field use, Trailbreaker is nowhere to be seen in Wheeljack's workshop.
* When Snarl first introduces himself, his chest is missing the Autobot insignia. When Swoop lands next to Snarl to make his introduction, Snarl's insignia is present.
* Bluestreak's center head crest is red instead of gray at two points during his fight with the Dinobots.
* As the Dinobots prepare to unleash their final attack on Optimus Prime, Grimlock's torso is colored gray instead of yellow.
* Sludge's helmet-sides are once again light gray as the Dinobots carry Optimus toward Megatron.
* As Grimlock tells Megatron that he'll terminate Optimus at his discretion, only the center of Grimlock's visor eyes was colored.
* When Grimlock fires Prime's rifle at Starscream, it gets the normal Autobot sound effect, instead of its own unique sound.

* Chip doesn't appear to be doing anything to roll his wheelchair as he and Sparkplug run through Autobot Headquarters.
* Only one of Wheeljack's "ears" flashes as he reports the meteorite's location.
* Improbable viewpoints:
** The meteorite is on-screen before Chip has asked Wheeljack to "get a fix on it".
** Teletraan then provides a ground shot of the valley (minus the Decepticons, Dinobots, energon cubes, etc.)
* Soundwave's visor is blue, and his forehead is visor-red, as he recoils from the about-to-explode energon cubes.
* As Grimlock transforms to start the battle, the end of Prime's rifle is colored gold, as if it were one of Grimlock's claws.
* Slag's horns are yellow instead of red as Swoop drops his tail.
* Optimus has a blue square around his neck as he runs to save Grimlock.
* Thundercracker is shown crashing alongside Megatron as the meteorite explodes. As Thundercracker hasn't been shown in this scene at all, and Starscream was last seen taking off alongside Megatron, it probably should have been Starscream.
* Megatron's gun barrel is bigger than his head as he gets to his feet after the explosion.

Rhino DVD release
°When Wheeljack says "I cant wait to get to work on this", his side light things do not flash.

°When the Dinobots talk of rebelling against Prime,Slag's face is miscolored, Sludge's mouth moves to Slag's line, and after Grimlock raises his arm there is a zoom take on Slag.

°As Snarl is introduced, he is entirely too dark.

°The energon cubes are miscolored in one scene.

° When the Dinobots carry Optimus, Slag is miscolored again.

°When Starscream says Grimlock will never betray Prime, he is colored as Thundercracker.

°At two points, Starscream's fingers are colored grey instead of blue.

°As Swoop carries Snarl, Snarl's torso is colored like Swoop's body.

°When Megatron and Starscream land, Starscream is miscolored again.

°When Slag and Sludge transform back to robot mode, their transformations are reversed. They start in robot mode but transform into dinosaur mode

°As Grimlock confronts Megatron and Starscream, Starscream is once again colored as Thundercracker.

° When the Dinobots take Optimus to Megatron, Starscream is colored in Thundercracker's colors.

* When asking for forgiveness from Optimus, Grimlock's eyes are not colored.

Continuity errors
* Chip calls the Autobots, because "they're the only ones who can save the Earth". Despite being charged with this awesome responsibility, the Autobots don't actually do anything to ward off or contain the meteorite. It's okay, though, because its actual explosion isn't even enough to damage Optimus and Grimlock, who are maybe fifty feet away when it goes up.

* Optimus Prime is amazingly cavalier about blasting the supposedly dangerous, glowing, energy-laden meteorite with his laser rifle.

* In the long shot of the Autobots standing on the mountain about to test the new Dinobots, Optimus can be seen in the distance driving away from Autobot HQ, despite the implication that some time has passed since he left.

* Slag can be clearly seen wearing a jetpack on his back when the Dinobots leave to deliver Optimus Prime to Megatron, despite it being previously established that the Dinobots can fly without such equipment. The jet pack appears to be based on Skyfire, complete with a blue "cockpit", white body and red thruster modules!

Astronomical errors
* A meteor is a chunk of rock that's in the process of burning up in Earth's atmosphere, a process that rarely takes more than a few seconds. As Chip has plenty of time to observe the incoming projectile, it's clearly still a meteoroid, a chunk of rock that's just floating around in space.
* Despite this, the meteor(oid) is trailing a flaming tail, as if it were already entering Earth's atmosphere. To the writers' credit, Prime refers to it as a meteorite once it's landed.
* Assuming our first view of the meteor/oid is meant to represent what Chip sees (there is a barely-visible telescopic outline around it), the object would have to be huge to be so highly detailed in a distant view from Earth. Such a huge object would be catastrophic for humankind if it hit Earth.
* We later learn that the thing is only about 30 feet across, though, which makes it way too small to be such a regular round body.
* Chip's telescope is apparently so sophisticated it can pick up the sound of the meteorite from across the vacuum of space, including its jet engines.
* A celestial impactor on Earth typically leaves a crater about 10 times its own diameter and annihilates both itself and pretty much everything in a much larger radius around it. Our meteorite here smacks into the middle of an urban downtown area, remains completely intact, and leaves no damage more substantial than a flattened Quonset hut and a largeish pothole.

Continuity notes
* The footage of the Dinobots that the Decepticons watch doesn't match up with any scene from their previous appearance ("S.O.S. Dinobots"), implying that the Decepticons have had at least one more run-in with the Dinobots since then.
* Gadgets and powers:
** Prime can... make his fist crackle with energy??
** Soundwave can snake out a long tentacle-like listening bud, to cover whatever distances between him and his subject he can't cover.
** He can also (in accord with his bio) remotely mind-read other Transformers, this time by means of a little widget that pops out of his head with a doofy-sounding DOING! noise.
** The Seekers can deploy grappling claws at the end of long cables.
** Ironhide creates metal by spraying it out of his fingertips onto the floor.
** Prowl uses a laser fired from his retracted wrist to slice the metal into smaller pieces.
** This may be the most bizarre implementation of Trailbreaker's force field ever. To contain the meteorite fragment's explosion, he starts spinning, disappearing into a black blur. One might presume that this is done to invert the force field, keeping the damaging forces inside instead of outside. (Using this ability causes him to vanish from the animation!)
** When he first appears Snarl is seen holding his sword, the first of the very rare times any of the Dinobots' swords appear.
** Swoop can extend his robot arms in dino mode if he needs to give somebody a good shove.
* Huffer has evidently changed his tune about the Dinobots, as he helps build Snarl and Swoop in this episode.

* Snarl, in a rare move for a Dinobot, actually uses the word "I". All the others always say "me", with the exceptions of Sludge from "S.O.S. Dinobots", and that time Grimlock was a genius.
* The energon cube that Soundwave fills is a bit odd; after he creates it, it just floats in mid-air. He then fires his gun into the meteorite, which obligingly sends a stream of energy into the cube. How the heck does that work, exactly?

Real-world references
* Star Wars sound effects:
** Luke deflecting seeker ball bolts is repurposed as Slag powering up his horn lasers to fire on Optimus. A lightsaber ignition is used in the same sequence as Prime loses his laser rifle, followed by Darth and Ben Kenobi cutting into some machinery during their duel on the Death Star.
** Death Star firing/Alderaan exploding, + X-Wings diving, as the Dinobots take off to return to Megatron.
** Falcon engine burst as Snarl and Swoop take off from Autobot HQ.

Trivia
*Grimlock's head has been redesigned, though the old version still crops up in a few future episodes. However, the old design remained predominant in the comics all the way until Grimlock evolved into an Action Master in "Still Life!". The second head design would be used in all incarnations from then on.

* In an earlier draft of this episode's script, it was not Chip who discovered the meteorite, but an original character named Doctor Lynn Hyashi. In a deleted subplot, Sparkplug's jealousy of her technical expertise would have paralleled Grimlock's jealousy of Prime's leadership.

<!-- How's this an error? You ever seen East St. Louis? Camden, NJ? The Bronx? It's called urban decay. * So there's a huge area of bombed out city (caused by what?) just across the river from what appears to be the commercial core of Generic City? The 80s may have been a rough time for many big cities, but c'mon now. -->
*This episode marks the only occasion in the entire series that a normally functioning Autobot willingly battles a normally functioning Optimus Prime ("Dark Awakening" and "The Return of Optimus Prime" don't count, as Prime was a zombie in the former and Rodimus was infected with the Hate Plague in the latter). The Dinobots have quite a bit of success, too...I know somebody who could have used some lessons from them.
*This was one of the six episodes featured on the Revenge of the Fallen console game. However, it was erroneously named "War on the Dinobots". It was also, unfortunately, the Kid Rhino remaster.
* Seriously, Optimus Prime does not forgive Grimlock at all.

* Improbable viewpoints:

* Gadgets and powers:
I will be back-or wait wrong movie"]]
* Snarl, in a rare move for a Dinobot, actually uses the word "I". All the others always say "me", with the exceptions of Sludge from "S.O.S. Dinobots", and that time Grimlock was a genius.
* The energon cube that Soundwave fills is a bit odd; after he creates it, it just floats in mid-air. He then fires his gun into the meteorite, which obligingly sends a stream of energy into the cube. How the heck does that work, exactly?

Real-world references
* Star Wars sound effects:

* Improbable viewpoints:

* Gadgets and powers:
I will be back-or wait wrong movie"
* Snarl, in a rare move for a Dinobot, actually uses the word "I". All the others always say "me", with the exceptions of Sludge from "S.O.S. Dinobots", and that time Grimlock was a genius.
* The energon cube that Soundwave fills is a bit odd; after he creates it, it just floats in mid-air. He then fires his gun into the meteorite, which obligingly sends a stream of energy into the cube. How the heck does that work, exactly?

Real-world references
* Star Wars sound effects:

* Improbable viewpoints:

°When the Dinobots talk of rebelling against Prime,Slag's face is miscolored, Sludge's mouth moves to Slag's line, and after Grimlock raises his arm there is a zoom take on Slag.

°As Snarl is introduced, he is entirely too dark.

* Gadgets and powers:

* Star Wars sound effects:

Religion
Is this:

<blockquote>Despite having no concrete evidence these beings exist, and despite the records of the Beast Wars affirming their evolution from bipedal primates, the humans continue to assume these premises are true. This seems like a waste of spent attention, especially with such short lifespans, as no credible sources have substantiated that their alleged creator has ever transformed out of their world into a giant humanoid and fought its eternal enemy before their eyes. While some humans accept that they evolved from bipedal primates, there are others who maintain the divine intervention theory with a zeal that leads one to wonder if they are malfunctioning. Though some have contended that the two theories are mutually exclusive, many seem to fall in a categorization that somehow accepts both. Many human traditions are puzzling.</blockquote>

Actually the attitude presented in fiction? If not, it does come off as as an unfair dig. I mean, I realize that this is a humor wiki, and "transformed out of their world into a giant humanoid and fought its eternal enemy before their eyes" is pretty funny - but the paragraph reads as more malicious than humorous on the whole.KrytenKoro 05:46, 12 April 2009 (EDT)
From his helicopter, Silas shot down William Fowler's plane transporting the Dynamic Nuclear Generation System. Soon, Fowler was transporting the device aboard a civilian trailer truck. Fowler evaded Silas's men, and when they attempted to open the trailer door, a motorcycle driver drove onto one of their cars, causing it to flip over and explode. The convoy passed through a train tunnel, and as it emerged, mysterious purple planes fired on the trailer. Since there was no radiation emanating from the explosion, Silas realized Fowler must've transferred the device onto the train. Then Silas witnessed the civilian convoy and planes transform into robots, and a fight ensued. He wasn't going to let the enemy leave with his prize, and so fired on the train tracks to cause a crash. The truck robot managed to stop the train, and from the safety of his helicopter, Silas watched his new enemy stare back. When MECH detected a Decepticon distress signal, Silas took a team to try to secure the Decepticon for MECH's use. Unfortunately it was bait, and Airachnid was the trap. Airachnid bargained with Silas — find Jack Darby and she would allow them to keep Arcee after she was done with her. Silas used MECH technology and the web to find information on Jack and had his mother June Darby kidnapped. Arcee and Jack were lured to a temporary MECH base in a factory. While Airachnid played with Jack, Silas ordered his men to extract Arcee's heart. Though the Autobot escaped before they could extract the part and Jack stole Silas's radio to contact Fowler, Silas at least got to witness Airachnid scanning a new alternate mode. Crisscross
Though a bomb waylaid Prime's team, Bulkhead broke into the tunnel and Silas retired to his helicopter outside, where he directed the MECH forces in an attempt to stop Bulkhead and Breakdown from escaping. He was forced to order a retreat when Starscream arrived with Vehicons, however they had gained enough information from their examination of Breakdown that Silas could initiate Project Chimera. Operation: Breakdown
Crisscross
