[[Image:Man of iron and knights.jpg|right|250px|thumb|"Oh bollocks, an immigrant! Kick him out! ''British Jobs for British Workers!''"]]
Some time in the past, the [[Man of Iron (Autobot)|Man of Iron]] and his [[Navigator]] came to [[Earth]] while searching for the [[Ark (G1)|Ark]] and left their ship beneath the area that would one day become [[Stansham]]. There they remained, though the Man of Iron would occasionally leave the ship to visit the surface - in 1017 he encountered [[human]]s, including [[Godwin the Strongarm]] and [[Aethelric]], and a further two sightings were recorded.

In 1984 a beacon from the ship attracted the attention of the earthbound [[Autobot]]s and they took a [[Ark shuttlecraft|shuttle]] to the United Kingdom to investigate. Upon arrival, [[Jazz (G1)|Jazz]] kidnapped a human named [[Sammy Harker]] to provide the Autobots with intelligence about the local area, but they were attacked by the [[Decepticon]]s, who had also followed the beacon to its source.

As battle raged above Stansham Castle, the Man of Iron emerged from his ship once more, only to be blown up by [[Thundercracker (G1)|Thundercracker]]. Jazz destroyed the ship (inadvertently killing the Navigator) and the [[Transformer]]s left the United Kindgom. {{storylink|Man of Iron (story)|Man of Iron}}

''About a year later they would return, seeking the source of an energy transmission that caused aspects of their personalities to reverse. Tracing the signal to a secret research facility Jazz and [[Starscream (G1)|Starscream]] fought over [[Zeke Heilmann]], a human who was stealing the core of [[PARD]] for his own nefarious purposes. In the ensuing battle both Zeke and the device were destroyed by Jazz.'' {{storylink|To a Power Unknown!}}

''By 1987, the country was the home of the [[Europe|European]] branch of international anti-terrorism taskforce [[Action Force (team)|Action Force]]; their field leader [[Flint (G.I. Joe)|Flint]] was an English soldier. They ended up battling alongside [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]], [[Blades (G1)|Blades]] and [[Centurion (Marvel)|Centurion]] against a raging [[Megatron (G1)|Megatron]] ([[Straxus (G1)|or so they thought]]) in [[London]]'s docklands. Centurion and Megatron fell into the [[River Thames]].'' {{storylink|Ancient Relics!}}

''[[Richard Branson]] attempted to fish out the remains, only for [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]] and the [[Seacon (G1)|Seacons]] to swipe his catch.'' {{storylink|Salvage!}}

In 1990, Shockwave emerged from the sea off the coast of [[Blackpool]] where he paused only to squash a tramp and his dog before leaving for [[New Jersey (Earth)|New Jersey]] to spy on [[Scorponok (G1)|Scorponok]]. {{storylink|Dark Creation}} He later set up his Decepticon dissident base there. {{storylink|Surrender!}}
In 1994, [[Bludgeon (G1)|Bludgeon]] led his forces to attack London with the intention of attracting [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]]. The damage to the city was severe; even the Houses of Parliament were bombed. Optimus defeated Bludgeon only to face a returned Megatron, who handed his [[Anatomic euphemism|skidplate]] to him. Before he could finish off his old adversary, Megatron was attacked by Bludgeon's troops and Optimus was rescued by the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobots]]. The arrival of Jazz's group forced Megatron to escape with Starscream and Prime declared victory, though he advocated that the Autobots vacate the area to escape any human retaliation. {{storylink|War Without End (issue)|War Without End}} {{storylink|War Zone}}
Starscream got involved in a spat between local [[Sir Wigend du Blackthorne]] and [[Sir Aetheling the Red]] before seizing control from the former and attempting to conquer the latter's fiefdom, as well as messing about with history by creating gunpowder in Europe centuries early. Luckily, Spike and the Autobots stopped him.

We also learned England possesses the time-travelling site known as [[Dragon Mound]], that plate armour existed ''far'' earlier than stuffy historians and their "facts" would tell us, and that [[Dragon|dragons existed naturally in England]]. {{storylink|A Decepticon Raider in King Arthur's Court}}
==Notes==
* By strange coincidence, a number of Transformers (including the entire planet of [[Gigantion]]) have accents identical to some of those in the United Kingdom!
* In 2009 Gordon Brown, [[Democracy|the Prime Minister]], made a public appeal for [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]] to come and solve the country's problems, to which the Conservative Party responded Brown had "more in common with the Decepticons".<ref>[http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/labour/4208838/Browns-hero-is-Transformer-Optimus-Prime.html Daily Telegraph report]</ref> (This probably makes the Liberal Democrats the [[Mini-Con]]s and the BNP [[The Fallen]]...)
* The UK has produced several Transformers comics, including the long running [[Marvel Comics|Marvel UK]] ''Transformers'' title, which reprinted (sometimes with edits) American Marvel comics and created new stories around them. It's never had the same success yet, though it has made comics based on [[Generation 2 (Fleetway comic)|Generation 2]], [[Armada (Panini comic)|Armada]], [[Transformers (Titan Magazine)|the live-action films]], and [[Transformers Animated (Titan)|Animated]]. If that wasn't enough transforming robots, it also published a strip based on [[Tonka GoBots|the GoBots]] under their ''Robo Machine'' branding!<ref>http://counter-x.net/gobots/comic/robo_machines/</ref>
* The UK also produced "strategically shaved ape" [[Simon Furman]], who's been known to write the odd Transformers-related thing.
* The word "[[Slag (disambiguation)|slag]]" is considered offensive in the UK (you wouldn't want your sister to be described as one). This has caused [[Beast Wars (cartoon)|some]] TV shows to be (very badly) edited to avoid use of the term (although strangely not [[Transformers Animated (cartoon)|all]]), and at least one [[Snarl (Animated)|character name]] change on both sides of the Atlantic.
* We have DVD boxsets of [[Robots in Disguise (cartoon)|Robots in Disguise]], [[The_Headmasters_(cartoon)|Headmasters]], [[Super-God_Masterforce_(cartoon)|Masterforce]], [[Victory_(cartoon)|Victory]] and [[Enter_the_New_Supreme_Commander%2C_Dai_Atlas!|Zone]] and you Yanks still don't. Ahhh ha ha ha HA.
* The UK is still waiting more than two super-cheap DVDs for Beast Wars though. :(

In ancient history, the being later referred to as [[The Fallen]] was encased in a [[sarcophagus]] by his [[Thirteen original Transformers|brothers]] after he attempted to destroy them in a bid to seize the powerful, life-giving artifact known as the [[AllSpark (Movie)|All Spark]]. To free himself from his ages-long confinement, he required a [[Solar Harvester|harvester]], a device that could drain the energy of a [[sun]] to replenish the All Spark. After much time passed, his sarcophagus, now an ancient relic, was discovered by the science teams led by [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]], and was seized by the increasingly volatile Protector of Cybertron, Megatron. The Fallen seduced Megatron with dreams of power, ordering him to obliterate all that defied them, including Optimus, his mostly non-combat scientists, and soldiers who did not join Megatron's new "Decepticon" army. As part of his plan to escape his prison, the Fallen commanded Megatron to build a large interstellar vessel called the ''Nemesis'' to search for a harvester. When the ship was complete, it was launched with a crew that consisted of the bulk of the Decepticon forces and the relic. Megatron pleaded to be able to go along, but the relic ordered him to stay behind to rule Cybertron. With the majority of the Decepticons gone with the ''Nemesis'', ruling Cybertron proved difficult, as the Autobots put up a strong resistance.

After many years of hard fighting and the Autobots finally losing the civil war, Optimus Prime decided to capture the All Spark and hurl it into space, so that Megatron could not possess it and corrupt it. Megatron immediately followed the All Spark on his own with his interstellar [[alternate mode]]. Along the way, he found the ''Nemesis'', abandoned by all but the relic. The relic ordered Megatron to continue his pursuit of the All Spark since, once freed, the Cube would seek out a harvester. Meanwhile, Optimus Prime and his crew prepared to follow Megatron in their [[Ark (Movie)|own ship]]. {{storylink|Defiance issue 4}}

Some years later, [[Soundwave (ROTF)|Soundwave]] and his crew returned to the ''Nemesis'' and received orders from the relic to search for something on the [[human]] homeworld of [[Earth]]. Arriving to the planet, Soundwave contacted [[Starscream (Movie)|Starscream]] and requested the latter to rally at his signal. When Starscream learned there were others in stasis aboard the ''Nemesis'', he requested the coordinates, planning to retrieve these soldiers and return to Earth en mass. {{storylink|Alliance issue 2}}
After Megatron was resurrected by the All Spark shard stolen from [[NEST]], he escaped Earth and flew to a cold, icy moon orbiting a ringed gas giant planet: the final resting place of the ''Nemesis''. Entering its hold of [[stasis pod]]s containing thousands of [[hatchling]]s, Megatron encountered the grovelling Starscream, who professed joy at Megatron's resurrection, an assertion that the Decepticon leader did not believe for a moment, especially in light of Starscream's claim that ''someone'' had to take command in Megatron's absence. After verbally and physically assaulting Starscream for his presumptions, Megatron entered The Fallen's chamber to apologise for his failure, but was surprised to learn the All Spark's knowledge and power now resided in [[Sam Witwicky]], the [[human]] who managed to defeat Megatron in [[Mission City]]. With his mind, they could the [[Matrix of Leadership|key]] needed to activate another [[solar harvester|device]] which could create [[Energon (fuel)|Energon]] for the hatchlings aboard the ''Nemesis''. As The Fallen laid out his plans for revenge against Earth and the [[Dynasty of Primes#Revenge of the Fallen movie|Primes]], Starscream sadly reported that without more energon (which the All Spark provided), the hatchlings would continue to die.

[[Image:Nemesis-ROTFinside.jpg|right|thumb|300px|The feng shui is just all over the place.]]
The Decepticons returned to Earth to capture the Witwicky boy, but were prevented from doing so by Optimus Prime, the last descendant of the Seven Primes who gave his life to protect the human. Across the vastness of space, The Fallen felt Optimus' death and freed himself from the harness restraining him to the ''Nemesis'', then headed for Earth. {{storylink|Revenge of the Fallen (film)}}
This was due to ''Defiance'' artists [[Dan Khanna]] and [[Andrew Griffith]] recycling the design of the Decepticon ship seen in ''The Reign of Starscream''. In IDW's [[Revenge of the Fallen Movie Adaptation issue 2|''Revenge of the Fallen Movie Adaptation'' issue 2]] and the actual movie, the ship looks totally different.
However, a nebula is also seen in the background, which throws a wrench into that. (In the magazine ''Cinefex''<nowiki>'s</nowiki> coverage of the film's special effects, text claims that the ''Nemesis'' lies near Saturn, but that information was possibly from the author of the piece, not an official source.)
:*The location is given in the novelization as being a planet orbiting a dead star. Also, the packaging bio for the "Gathering at the Nemesis" three-pack mentions a "world lost in the deep black of space." That doesn't work with what we see in the movie either. "Saturn" is lit by what appears to be a star (shadows are too sharp for it to be from the nebula), and a bright sun is seen in the sky when Megatron approaches the ''Nemesis''.
:* Special features on the ''Revenge of the Fallen'' DVD/Blu-Ray release complicate things further when an artist working on the film claims that the ''Nemesis'' is on [[Mars (planet)|Mars]]! Well, that's just right out.
:* The audio description on the DVD release describes the planet as [[Chaar]].
