Following [[Galvatron (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Galvatron]]'s demise, Scorponok once again seizes control of the Decepticon forces, and appoints himself the [[Emperor of Destruction|Emperor of Terror]]. Keeping [[Sixshot (G1)|Sixshot]] occupied by instructing him to continue the attack against Earth's [[Autobot]]s, Scorponok and the Decepticon [[Headmaster (technology)|Headmasters]] resume their original plan for the destruction of Earth.

On [[Athenia]], the Autobots study the Decepticons' recent movements, noting that the northern hemisphere has seen a lot of activity of late. Chromedome prepares to head to Earth to help reinforce the defenses of that area when Spike announces that he will be going to the planet too, to attend [[Earth Summit|a summit]] concerning Earth's volcanoes. Specifically, the meeting is about drilling into Earth's mantle, but Spike's studies reveal an unexpected coincidence: All of Scorponok's movements have been centered on the [[Pacific Ring of Fire]], the largest concentration of volcanoes on Earth, which runs from Alaska to the South Pole. Back in [[Autobot City (G1)|Autobot City]], Spike explains that he thinks the Decepticons are targeting the spot where Earth's crust is weakest, but in the midst of his talk, [[Trypticon (G1)|Trypticon]] attacks. [[Metroplex (G1)|Metroplex]] holds him off, but Sixshot then arrives, and Chromedome, recalling the death of [[Ultra Magnus (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity|Ultra Magnus]] at the ninja's hands, engages him in battle. Metroplex is distracted by this, and as Trypticon bears down on him, Spike steps out from his cover to shout a warning to the [[city-bot]], only to be struck by a stray laser blast. Metroplex repels the Decepticons, but Spike is critically wounded and transported by to Athenia for urgent medical attention.

Chromedome blames himself for allowing Spike to get injured, and although [[Daniel Witwicky (G1)|Daniel]] is understanding, Wheelie is not so forgiving. Just then, Fortress enters to inform everyone on Spike's condition: A small piece of shrapnel has become embedded in one of his arteries and cannot be removed by surgery. His guilt mounting, Chromedome turns on Fortress, blaming Spike's injuries on his passive strategies. Once he's restrained and calmed down by his fellow Headmasters, the group then debate Scorponok's strategy, with [[Highbrow (G1)|Highbrow]] speculating that he is attempting to make the Earth combust into a new sun. At that point, a report is beamed in from [[Scattershot (G1)|Scattershot]] that the Decepticons are active on the [[Kamchatka Peninsula]], another portion of the Pacific Ring of Fire. Fortress forbids Chromedome from participating in the attack, and he remains on Athenia while the others head for Earth.

Spike and Daniel share a tearful moment in the medical bay, with Spike telling Daniel that regardless of what happens to him, he must remain strong. Thankfully, Fortress has the answer that will save Spike's life. Putting his Master-born psychic powers to work, he telekinetically purges the shrapnel from Spike's body. Unfortunately, this drains all of his energy, and with Scorponok on the way to Earth, he will be unable to transform into Fortress Maximus to combat him.

On Kamchatka, the Autobots are meeting heavy Decepticon resistance, and Scorponok appears in the sky over the peninsula, patiently awaiting the arrival of Fortress. Soon enough, he gets his wish, and he transforms into [[robot mode]] to throw around the energy-deprived Battleship Maximus. Stuck on Athenia and feeling useless, Chromedome realises the key to winning the day: discovering the secret of Scorponok's long-searched-for weakness! Daniel and Wheelie aid him in his work, focusing their studies on the connection between his head and body, per notes left by Highbrow. As the battle on Earth worsens, they at last discover the Decepticon leader's weak spot: the Decepticon insignia on his chest! Chromedome races to Earth, arriving just as things seem their bleakest, as Scorponok hurls Battleship Maximus into the molten heart of a volcano. What Scorponok has failed to account for, however, is Fortress's ability to absorb the volcano's magma energy, re-energising him and allowing him to transform into Fortress Maximus! Chromedome informs him of the weak spot, and Fortress Maximus stabs Scorponok through the chest with the [[Master Sword]], causing the Decepticon to topple into the volcano. In a spray of molten rock, the crippled Scorponok bursts free and flees into the sky.

As the dust clears, Wheelie and the other Headmasters reconcile with Chromedome.

Whereas other Decepticons of [[Cloud World]]'s [[Underground (Cloud)|Underground]] have selfish goals and ambitions of their own, Shockwave seeks only the most logical and efficient way of securing the continued existence of the space-time world for all eternity. Unfortunately for Cloud World, he has come to the conclusion that space-time can only be preserved through utter domination, and the best person to dominate it is [[Megatron (Cloud)|Megatron]].

Shockwave practices repeated self-modification, often remodeling his own body to improve his abilities, which has left him with a [[Triple Changer]] body armed with numerous weapons, most notably the powerful Astro Magnum on his left arm. This type of modification is excruciatingly painful and would be akin to torture to any other Transformer, but Shockwave calmly takes the pain and keeps taking himself apart without expressing any emotion whatsoever. The assembled [[Autobot]]s stand on the bow of the great ship, the [[Ark (Cybertron)|Ark]], and confront [[Megatron (Armada)/Cartoon continuity|Galvatron]] and his small band of [[Decepticon]]s. Although massively outnumbered, Galvatron is unfazed, as he still wields the power of the [[Omega Lock]] and the [[Cyber Planet Key]]s, and he lectures [[Optimus Prime (Armada)/Cartoon continuity|Optimus Prime]] on the nature of power. Prime rejects Galvatron's speech, so Galvatron provides a visual aid, using the power of the Lock to transform his followers into giants. As his now-towering minions launch their attack on the Autobots, Galvatron himself makes a break for the [[Unicron Singularity|black hole]], but finds his way barred by [[Primus]]. Unfortunately for the deity, his power is so diminished from his attempts to slow the expansion of the black hole that the Omega Lock-powered Galvatron is able to blast him into unconsciousness.

[[Thunderblast (Decepticon)|Thunderblast]] shrugs off attacks from [[Brimstone (Cybertron)|Brimstone]] and [[Undermine (Cybertron)|Undermine]] before coming under fire from the [[Earth]] Transformers, including her old friend [[Lugnutz]]. At the same time, [[Crumplezone (Cybertron)|Crumplezone]] finds that his new size doesn't make him a better racer when he is confronted by his old foes from [[Velocitron]], while [[Ransack (Cybertron)|Ransack]] literally gets the short end of things when he comes under attack by the [[Gigantion]]s, who are the same size as him even after his height increase! Finally, [[Thundercracker (Armada)|Thundercracker]] is given the honor of holding back Optimus Prime, but before long, the [[Cybertron Defense Team]] come to their leader's aid, taking over the fight so Prime can combine with [[Wing Saber (Energon)|Wing Saber]] to pursue Galvatron. Just before he heads off, Optimus is approached by [[Override (Cybertron)|Override]], [[Scourge (Cybertron)|Scourge]], [[Evac (Cybertron)|Evac]] and [[Metroplex (Cybertron)|Metroplex]], who wish to join him on his mission. They have also brought [[Coby Hansen|Coby]], [[Bud Hansen|Bud]] and [[Lori]] along in the [[Mini-Con]]s, at the children's insistence, and Optimus agrees to allow them to join the group, vowing that the five leaders together will protect them.

On Earth, [[Mike Franklin|Colonel Franklin]] and [[Lucy Suzuki]] survey the destruction that the black hole is wreaking upon the planet from the relative safety of the Autobot base. As many people as possible have been evacuated to shelters, and now, all they can do is watch, wait... and hope...

Heading for the black hole, the five planet leaders come upon the unconscious body of Primus, who awakens just long enough to tell them that Galvatron is within the black hole and is using the Omega Lock to destabilize it. The Autobots pursue him, flying into the singularity and past the tortured [[Animatron|Jungle Planet]], which was recently caught in its inexorable pull. Just as they begin to wonder why Galvatron wishes to expand the black hole, the Decepticon leader himself appears before them, now a giant himself, and gives them their answer: It is his intention to use the black hole to bring the universe to end, after which he will use the power of the Lock and Keys to create a new universe, moulded in his image! Disgusted by Galvatron's willingness to destroy even his own Decepticons in his pursuit of power, the five leaders dive into battle, countering Galvatron's blast with their combined strength and eventually combining their [[Cyber Key]] powers into one five-pronged attack that manages to take him down. In one final act of spite, Galvatron hurls the Omega Lock and the Cyber Planet Keys at the core of the black hole, resolving to see the universe destroyed if he cannot have it himself.

With the black hole destabilizing all around them thanks to its prior exposure to Galvatron's power, the five Autobots dive for the core, hot on the Omega Lock's trail, but when they spot it, they discover that the Cyber Planet Keys have come loose and are floating all around them. With the aid of the kids and Mini-Cons, the leaders of the four colony worlds successfully retrieve their planets' Keys, leaving the tumbling Omega Lock for Optimus to grab. With Coby acting as his eyes, Prime navigates the debris and pushes himself to the limit, trying to catch up to the Lock. Just when it seems that he will not make it, the [[Planet Map]] in Bud possession begins to glow...and before Optimus's eyes, the ethereal form of [[Vector Prime]] appears. Vector lays his ghostly hand alongside Optimus's, and together, the two Primes reach out and seize the Omega Lock. As the sound of the [[Omega Frequency]] rings out, the Omega Lock and Keys fly from the Autobots' hands in a coalescing wave of golden energy, soaring out of the black hole and recombining with Primus. His power restored fully at last, the rejuvenated god springs to life and seizes the Ark, through which he channels all his energy in one titanic blast. This beam of holy energy stabs directly into the heart of the black hole, which shudders...glows like a dying star...and at last, is no more!

His purpose complete, Primus smiles and transforms back into Cybertron, but not Cybertron as the Transformers once knew their planet. Restored by the power of the four Cyber Planet Keys, their homeworld now encompasses the greatest aspects of all four colony worlds. With the black hole finally destroyed, its effects upon the universe are no more, and peace returns to Earth.

Out in space, learning that Galvatron was intending to abandon them in pursuit of his goals, the four remaining Decepticons turn the tables on their leader and abandon him instead, leaving Galvatron alone in the void.

And down on Earth, the Autobots bring the kids back to their homes, where they are reunited with their parents.

At last, the universe has been saved!

On the lowest level of [[Gigantion]], [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] hauls his battered body out of the lake into which [[Landmine (Energon)|Landmine]] hurled him. His power levels low, Starscream focuses on the images of [[Optimus Prime (Armada)/Cartoon continuity|Optimus Prime]], [[Megatron (Armada)/Cartoon continuity|Galvatron]] and [[Primus]] within his mind, and his determination galvanizes him.

Within the ''[[Lemuria (Cybertron)|Lemuria]]'' starship, the assembled [[Autobot]]s prepare to add the fourth and final [[Cyber Planet Key]] to the [[Omega Lock]]. The heroes are on their toes, as they are by now well aware that adding a Key to the Lock is bound to have an unusual effect...and indeed, this time is no different, as the Omega Lock shoots out a beam of energy that powers up the starship they are standing in. Its systems reboot, deactivating the security systems on Gigantion that prevent warping and causing the planet's multiple layers to split open, revealing a clear passage to the world's surface. A [[space bridge]] opens in the sky over the planet, allowing a communication from [[Mike Franklin|Colonel Franklin]] to reach the team. Alas, he does not have good news: the [[Unicron Singularity|black hole]]'s influence is spreading throughout the galaxy despite Primus's efforts, with the [[Animatron|Jungle Planet]] in particular danger. [[Scourge (Cybertron)|Scourge]] chooses this moment to appear before the Autobots, wishing to offer his thanks to Optimus Prime for all that he has taught him. Having seen the images of Jungle Planet, Scourge realizes he can neglect his homeworld no longer, and with [[Snarl (Cybertron)|Snarl]] by his side once again, the two old friends return there to do what they can.

The Autobots are preparing to follow their beastly comrades to the surface when [[Megatron (Armada)/Cartoon continuity|Galvatron]] makes a sudden appearance. Bringing all his deadly powers to bear, he swiftly blasts his way through the Autobots and purloins the Omega Lock. However, as he makes a break for the opening in the sky, Starscream appears in his path, and demands that he hand over the Lock and Keys. The two Decepticons lecture each other on the nature of power, and a ferocious battle breaks out between the two, which the Autobots are prevented from interfering in by the appearance by [[Sideways (RID)|Sideways]] and [[Soundwave (Cybertron)|Soundwave]]. The other Decepticons soon arrive to watch (and about what to do and who to cheer for), while the Gigantions down below shield the humans from falling debris.

The battle between Megatron and Starscream takes another strange turn when Starscream reveals that his absorption of the power of Primus has given him the ability to increase the mass of his body at will. Eventually, the fight carries the two combatants to the surface of the planet, where they each unleash the fullest extent of their power. Pulsating with inconceivable amounts of [[energon]], the two Decepticons face off, the interaction of their energon auras threatening an explosion powerful enough to destroy a planet. The Autobots cut their losses and scramble for cover, while Sideways and Soundwave resolve to snatch the Omega Lock from the two battling 'bots before it too is destroyed by the impending blast. Unfortunately, they move too slowly: Megatron and Starscream unleash their final attacks, and the collision of forces yields an explosion visible from space, ripping a giant hole in the planet, and consuming them and the two [[Planet X (Cybertron)|Planet X]] agents.

As the Autobots emerge from their cover, Starscream, Sideways and Soundwave are nowhere to be seen...but Galvatron has survived, and with the Omega Lock, he escapes through the space bridge! Unable to do anything, the Autobots watch as the other Decepticons follow him, and [[Vector Prime]] speculates that Starscream and the Planet Xers were not destroyed, but rather, blasted into another dimension. As everyone looks up at the sky, however, the space bridge starts to disintegrate, leaving the Autobots and their human allies with no means to return to their home universe...

And, high above the planet, floating on the solar winds... Starscream's crown drifts in the cosmic night...

65 million years ago, on the planet [[Earth]], during the Cretaceous Period, a ''Psittacosaurus'' is out hunting for food. Finding a fish, the small dinosaur starts to feed, but stops as hundreds of alien ships enter Earth's atmosphere, with mysterious aliens laying down bombs all over the surface. These alien ships are commanded by "The Creators". The alien ships begin launching bombs called "Seeds". Detonating them, they turn most of the Earth's surface and much of its organic life into a metallic element. Barely escaping, the ''Psittacosaurus'' walks through the fields of metallic dinosaur corpses. The Age of the Dinosaurs is over.

Five years after the invasion of [[Chicago]], a military unit known as [[Cemetery Wind]] moves out to an abandoned steamboat. Deploying small aerial drones, they pinpoint their target, who turns out to be [[Ratchet (Movie)|Ratchet]]. Initially he tries to run, but when he is forced to transform, he tries to reason with the CIA operatives. [[James Savoy]], who leads the field operations and reports to the paranoid [[Harold Attinger]], dismisses Ratchet's pleas. Then, a cannon emerges from the swamp, firing off a few rounds, knocking Ratchet down, and destroying his leg. It's revealed to be [[Lockdown (ROTF)|Lockdown]], who demands to know where [[Optimus Prime (Movie)|Optimus Prime]] is. Ratchet's defiance earns him a hook through the chest.

In Texas, struggling inventor [[Cade Yeager]] and his friend/employee [[Lucas Flannery]] meet at an old theater, looking for parts/salvage. He finds an old truck, and upon inspection, it seems to have artillery shells inside it. He buys the truck along with the other theater equipment and puts it in his garage. [[Tessa Yeager|Tessa]], Cade's daughter, observes this while video-chatting with her boyfriend and flips out on her dad for buying the heap of junk.

Later on, Cade discovers a giant hole on the radiator while taking the truck apart. After calling Lucas and Tessa, he connects jumper cables to its engine...only for it to promptly declare "Calling all Autobots...". They realize it's a Transformer right before Optimus Prime transforms and roars in a fit of rage while waving his shotgun. Lucas gets injured in the head by the swinging shotgun. Outside, Lucas advocates calling the cops, claiming that there is a huge reward for Transformers. Cade talks to Optimus. Seeing the unrepaired and damaged condition the Autobot leader is in, Cade decides to repair him. Cade sends Lucas to buy the parts that will enable him to fix Optimus.

Shortly after, however, a strike team led by Savoy and commanded by Attinger approaches the farm, having been tipped off to Prime's location by Lucas. Agents swarm the barn...but there is no trace of Prime inside. As Savoy presses a gun to Tessa's head and Cade swears that he doesn't know where Prime is, said Cybertronian explodes out of the floor of the barn-he was hiding in the basement under the barn. Optimus escapes, still being chased by Cemetery Wind. As Cade catches a mini-drone used by Cemetery Wind and the Yeager residence explodes, a white rally car zooms over the adjacent fields and picks up the Yeagers and Lucas. The driver is revealed to be [[Shane Dyson|Shane]], Tessa's boyfriend and rally car racer.

Lockdown arrives to chase Optimus. Prime, as well as the Yeagers, Shane, and Lucas, is chased into an abandoned factory. While Optimus fights Lockdown, Shane uses his driving skills to good use and dispatches most of Cemetery Wind. However, the stunt driving has broken the car's axle. They pile into Optimus and flee, but Lucas is caught in the radius of Lockdown's grenade and is turned into metal, frozen in midstride.

Arriving at a very dilapidated gas station, Optimus orders the humans out and drives off to ensure that they have not been followed. Cade and Shane converse. Tessa gets angry at Cade again for putting them all in danger.

The next day Optimus and the humans set off towards Monument Valley but stop at a small ATM on the way. Cade tries to use the mini-drone to make a transaction out of his account. This fails, of course, and has the unfortunate side effect of alerting the feds to their location. A group of police cars descend on the scene but the entourage has already left. Prime scans a passing truck, sheds his layer of rust and takes on a new form with his old paint scheme. They arrive in Monument Valley where they meet other Autobot refugees in the form of [[Crosshairs (Movie)|Crosshairs]], [[Hound (Movie)|Hound]], [[Drift (ROTF)|Drift]], and [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]]. Crosshairs and Hound start threatening the humans for having their species betray them. Later, Optimus convinces them that they have risked their lives to save his. During nightime, Optimus asks if the are any other Autobots that are still hiding. Later, Cade reveals footage of Ratchet and Leadfoot's demise using the stolen aerial drone. Hound then takes off his hat for respect for his fallen friend.

*After the Autobots infiltrate KSI Technologies, they liberate [[Brains]] from the "Frankenstein box". Afterwards, he is absent for the entire sequence aboard [[Lockdown (ROTF)|Lockdown's]] ship only to reappear after the Autobot's meet back up with Bumblebee and the Yeagers.
*[[Ironhide (Movie)|Ironhide]] is seen on the cards Attinger pulls out early in the film, listed as deceased and having been last seen in Chicago. However, Ironhide was killed by Sentinel Prime in Washington, D.C., midway through ''Dark of the Moon''.
*Scenes from the Decepticons' invasion of Chicago in ''Dark of the Moon'' are shown as archival footage presented by Attinger. While it is conceivable some lucky people with cameras recorded the initial attack and managed to survive and publish their footage, it's highly unlikely people would've been able to get close-up video footage of the [[NEST]] team taking down [[Barricade (Movie)|Barricade]] and the other Decepticons. In an outside-world context, these scenes are simply used as stock footage to help serve as exposition for the audience.
*When Drift first appears in the movie, he is initially seen driving down a desert road in his Bugatti altmode with Crosshairs, and then after the film cuts to showing Hound scaling one of the desert's giant rock formations, it cuts back to Drift... who is suddenly by himself in robot mode and on top of another rock formation; one that is far enough ''away'' from the road that he has to fly back to it in his helicopter altmode to reach it. Did he teleport between cuts or something?
**And since there appears to be just one road in this whole scene, could he not have just stayed on the same road with Crosshairs to rendezvous with Optimus more quickly?

*While the human characters are climbing across the anchor cables to the high-rise building some of the Steeljaws begins to climb out after them. Cade tells his daughter not to look back and see them, but when we cut back to her, with a clear view of the cables behind her, the Steeljaws are not visible for this moment.

==[[Dinobot Island, Part 1|Paleontology weeps]]==
*The cyberformed remains of a ''Tyrannosaurus'' and a ''Spinosaurus'' appear frozen together in the arctic at the beginning of the film. This is rather odd considering the two are found in different continents (North America and Africa respectively) and separated by around 35 million years of evolution.
*All the dinosaurs seen in the beginning scene existed in the same exact time and place (Central Asia, around 75 million years ago) which is rare for films to be this accurate. However, the juxtaposition of the scene seems to suggest this was at the end of the age of the dinosaurs, which was 65 million years ago.
*The ''Psittaccosaurus'', a well known herbivorous animal, is seen actively hunting and killing live prey.
*The Dinobots show various exaggerations and ornamentations which go beyond the usual suspension of disbelief involved in...giant metal dinosaurs. Grimlock sports curved, backwards pointing horns and enormous fangs. Slug has huge tail spikes and a set of nasty chin horns. Scorn probably gets off the easiest, being ''mostly'' correct, bar his extra fins. Strafe would be the biggest offender, with a double pair of elongate tails and twin heads.

On the surface of [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] (or should that be [[Primus]]?), the [[Decepticon]]s are hoofing it towards the [[Omega Lock]] at high speed when the [[Autobot]]s catch up to them. [[Optimus Prime (Armada)/Cartoon continuity|Optimus]] squares off against [[Megatron (Armada)/Cartoon continuity|Megatron]], but his distraction over the plight of the missing kids and Mini-Cons allows Megatron to score some free hits.

Meanwhile, in [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]]'s hideout, the kids are still floating around in zero gravity, trying to catch their communicators. [[Coby Hansen|Coby]] succeeds in getting his hands on one, but his attempts to communicate with the [[Mini-Con]]s and Optimus don't work, and [[Bud Hansen|Bud]]'s suggestions aren't helpful. Coby changes tack and uses a navigation system built into the communicator to determine where in the galaxy they are, soon discovering that they are on the wreck of the ''[[Atlantis]]'', still floating on the dark side of the Earth's [[Moon (moon)|moon]]! Puzzling over how they're going to get back, they decide to look for the Mini-Cons.

On the bridge of the ''Atlantis'' Starscream smugly watches Optimus and Megatron fight, while [[Sideways (RID)|Sideways]] works on trying to extract information about [[Gigantion]]'s location from the memory of the protesting [[Jolt (Cybertron)|Jolt]]. The sheer amount of data in Jolt's brain is making it difficult, so Sideways tries to tune in to ''[[Galactic Guardians]]'' before remembering all the communications are jammed, and settles for listening to music on his [[Soundwave (G1)|mini-cassette player]] instead. No sooner has he started singing along than Starscream accuses him of goofing off, so he decides to finish the repairs to the ship. As he departs, Jolt wonders where [[Six-Speed]] and [[Reverb (Cybertron)|Reverb]] are, and it is immediately revealed that they are, in fact, throwing themselves against a door in an attempt to get to Jolt. Sideways is on the other side of the door, carrying out his repair work, and tells them to knock it off, as the door won't open without the key he has.

Back on Cybertron, the Autobots are still fighting the Decepticons. Prime and Megatron activate their claws, and their fists slam together with a power which can be seen from space.

On the Atlantis, Sideways has finished his repairs and returns to find the download is taking forever. As Starscream demands he do something about it, Sideways thinks of a new plan—hack into Jolt's brain and delete all of the data not pertaining to Gigantion. Jolt is justifiably terrified at the prospect, but his squeals do little to deter the Decepticons, and Starscream departs for Cybertron to steal the Omega Lock while Sideways gets to work.

Back with the kids, Coby rigs up a scanner normally used for maintenance on Transformers, which allows them to x-ray the ship's walls and directs them to a heating duct that they are able to use to escape the room. They float along until they reach an opening in the duct, where they witness Sideways working on something, but cannot see what. To make his work go smoother, Sideways turns the gravity generator back on, causing the kids to fall down, along with a coil of wire that Bud snatches up. At this point, the kids finally realize that Jolt is the subject of Sideways's evil experimentations, prompting a dismayed cry from Bud. This alerts Sideways to their position, but fortunately for the kids, he trips over a cable when he tries to capture them. Jolt yells at them to run, and they are wise enough to do so, heading down a shaft that opens over a flaming pit. Bud makes it over, but [[Lori]] nearly falls in and Coby slides after her when he grabs her hand. Bud wraps the cable around Coby's leg and saves them both.

Recovering from his fall, Sideways teleports off in pursuit of the kids. The kids flee upon sight of him, but they only have a moment before he simply warps to their new location. In the span of that moment, however, Coby has concocted a plan, and as Lori and Bud run, Coby uses his commnicator to protect a life-sized hologram of Megatron. Coby speaks through the hologram and makes it tell Sideways to surrender to Optimus, but Sideways finally realises he's been had when the hologram tells him to "hop on one foot and say 'I'm a pretty lady'". Sideways chases Coby, but trips over the cable which Bud and Lori have been setting up, crashes into a wall and ends up bured under debris. The kids retrieve his key and liberate Six-Speed and Reverb from their prison.

Across the galaxy, Starscream arrives at Primus and observes the fighting on the surface from afar, when suddenly, [[Thunderblast (Decepticon)|Thunderblast]] flies into range to check her reflection in a satellite panel and whine about the battle ruining her looks. Starscream looms up behind her, and she continues moaning until she realises he's there, and then lets out a scream. Quickly flip-flopping, Thunderblast claims she never meant to betray Starscream, but he commands her to get the Omega Lock or be blasted to smithereens. After she agrees to get the Omega Lock, he flies off and she resumes complaining.

The kids use Six-Speed and Reverb as transport while they track down Jolt, and are finally able to free the Mini-Con. While discussing how to get off the ship, Coby realizes that they were unable to contact Optimus before because of an electromagnetic jamming field surrounding the ship that is blocking communications. They are just discussing how to disable it when Sideways suddenly appears and looms over them...

[[Optimus Prime (Armada)/Cartoon continuity|Optimus Prime]] leads the [[Autobot]]s across the [[space bridge]] to [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], hot on the heels of the advance team he has sent ahead with the [[Omega Lock]], consisting of [[Evac (Cybertron)|Evac]], [[Override (Cybertron)|Override]] and [[Overhaul (Cybertron)|Leobreaker]]. Unfortunately, [[Megatron (Armada)/Cartoon continuity|Megatron]] and the [[Decepticon]]s are also in pursuit, and they have the lead on Optimus's team, soon catching up to the Autobot trio when the latter hit a badly warped section of space which the space bridge cannot cross. Sheltering from the Decepticons' weaponsfire behind a chunk of debris, Leobreaker, Evac and Override find themselves filled with the power of the Omega Lock and surrounded by glowing red auras that enable them to levitate over the broken section and continue their journey, towing the Lock behind on ropes of energy. Override is incredulous at this moment of sheer unbelievability, but that doesn't stop Megatron and [[Scourge (Cybertron)|Scourge]] from following their lead, summoning up the full extent of their own power and following the Autobots across the void. Even [[Thunderblast (Decepticon)|Thunderblast]] is able to make the trip; [[Thundercracker (Armada)|Thundercracker]], on the other hand, is not so lucky and gets tossed off into space by the dimensional warp. [[Ransack (Cybertron)|Ransack]] and [[Crumplezone (Cybertron)|Crumplezone]] decide not to risk their own necks following, and [[Mudflap (Cybertron)|Mudflap]], disgusted with the Decepticons' lack of comradeship, decides to take the space bridge back to [[Earth]].

On Cybertron itself, the [[Cybertron Defense Team]] are updated on the situation by [[Coby Hansen|Coby]], [[Bud Hansen|Bud]] and [[Lori]], who are monitoring everything from Earth. The Defense Team continue to fight off the hordes of [[Scrapmetal (race)|Scrapmetal]] swarming over the planet, and after they clear out the closest cluster of the creatures, Override, Evac and Leobreaker come crashing down out of the sky. They have not made the journey unscathed, and to make matters worse, Megatron's team appears seconds later. Megatron is undamaged by the experience, and he is about to take out all six of the Autobots in front of him when, at last, Optimus Prime's forces arrive. Prime and [[Wing Saber (Energon)|Wing Saber]] combine into Sonic Wing Mode and engage Megatron in battle, but during the fight, Megatron craftily downs Leobreaker and steals back the Omega Lock. The Decepticons immediately flee through a [[dimension gate]], but Optimus Prime refuses to let Megatron get away and leaps through the gate after him!

Prime and Megatron battle within the fire dimension, and while Prime takes the upper hand, Megatron's [[Armor of Unicron]] continues to regenerate him, and he refuses to give up. When the pair's [[Cyber Key]] powers collide and cause a massive explosion, the fire dimension is torn open, and Optimus escapes back to Cybertron with the Omega Lock. Before the Decepticons can follow, Optimus instructs [[Vector Prime]] to create another warp gate across the one he has just emerged through, which causes the dimension to start collapsing in on top of itself. Megatron uses the full power of the Armor of Unicron to rip open the substance of space physically, allowing Scourge and Thunderblast to escape, but before he can cross through himself, Optimus Prime and Vector Prime combine the Omega Lock with Vector Prime's sword and fire a beam of Cyber Key power straight at him. The beam spears Megatron and overcomes his drained armor, and the fire dimension collapses on the Decepticon leader's body, which explodes in a haze of light, and he finally meets his end.

With the destruction of Megatron, the Autobots are in a celebratory mood, and the kids and [[Mini-Con]]s are brought to Cybertron to join in. With everyone gathered together, the Autobots head beneath the planet's surface, following the directions [[Primus]] had previously given them to a dome-shaped room containing an altar on which the Omega Lock is to be placed. At Vector Prime's urging, Optimus Prime places the lock upon the altar and transmits energy from the [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]] into it, causing it to pulse with a light that slowly spreads through the room...and across the planet! As the Autobots watch, horror slowly creeps through them as the planet begins to split and break apart! Thinking that their mission has resulted in the destruction of their homeworld, Leobreaker and [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]] both begin to break down in hysteria, while Override and Evac are caught up trying to get the kids to safety. Wing Saber snaps Optimus out of his daze, and the Autobot leader gets his arguing, panicking troops in order, instructing them to withdraw to Cybertron's moon. From the planet's satellite, the Autobots look down on their still-fracturing home, and Vector Prime realizes that what they are witnessing is too regular for a planetary break-up. In ''Galaxy Force'', they actively summon up the [[Burning justice|magic glowing auras]] that surround them by clenching and grunting, and carry the Omega Lock away on streams of energy as if this ''utter nonsense'' was the most normal thing ever. In ''Cybertron'', Override has no idea what is happening, and is amazed as the events play out, indicating that they are the ''Omega Lock''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s doing. Leobreaker laughs it off, claiming this kind of crazy stuff happens to him all the time, and even Crumplezone and Ransack then talk about how weird it was. Galled at both [[Scourge (Cybertron)|Scourge]]'s decision to give [[Animatron|Jungle Planet]]'s [[Cyber Planet Key]] to the [[Autobot]]s and his change of heart in his attitude toward subordinates, [[Megatron (Armada)/Cartoon continuity|Megatron]] leads [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] and [[Thundercracker (Armada)|Thundercracker]] on an air raid of Scourge's temple. While the Autobots try to fight them off, [[Lori]] petitions Scourge for his aid in the battle, but the dragon-bot has no desire to get involved in their war. To keep the Cyber Planet Key out of the [[Decepticon]]s' clutches, [[Vector Prime]] and [[Backstop (Cybertron)|Backstop]] follow [[Optimus Prime (Armada)/Cartoon continuity|Optimus Prime]]'s instructions to conceal the key within a box, and then distribute it and several dummy boxes among the Autobots. With none of the Autobots aware which of them is carrying the real key, they break into teams and head off in different directions, splintering the pursuing Decepticon forces.

[[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]] and [[Override (Cybertron)|Override]] have to deal with the wild terrain of Jungle Planet as they are pursued by [[Ransack (Cybertron)|Ransack]] and [[Crumplezone (Cybertron)|Crumplezone]], who manage to get ahold of their box. When Ransack opens it, however, he is met with a spring-loaded boxing glove to the face. At the same time, [[Sideways (RID)|Sideways]] engages Vector Prime, using his newly-revealed ability to warp to keep the elderly Transformer at bay, then using his [[insignia]]-switching power to dupe [[Safeguard (Cybertron)|Safeguard]] and snatch Vector Prime's box. He has as much luck as Ransack, though, finding only a rock inside. As these two clashes play out, Optimus Prime tries to douse the fires around the temple started by Thundercracker, and Scourge comes to his aid in the interest of protecting his planet, taking Thundercracker out with a blast of his own flame.

Snarl and Leobreaker, meanwhile, have escaped to a nearby shoreline, drawing attention to themselves deliberately by eschewing the cover of the jungle, based on Leobreaker's belief that there is no way Optimus would trust him with the real Key. The pair suddenly fall into a pit dug by [[Mudflap (Cybertron)|Mudflap]], but are able to quickly extricate themselves and overpower Mudflap, hurling him into the ocean. Leobreaker is then given pause to reconsider his tactic, debating the possibility that he does indeed have the real key, and after conferring with Snarl, the pair decide to head into the jungle.

Elsewhere, Megatron confronts Optimus Prime, who is carrying the one remaining box. The two enemies attack simultaneously, but Prime's blast is the one that finds its mark, and Megatron is laid low. Megatron mocks Prime for being too weak to deliver a killing blow, and when Prime turns to leave, Megatron quickly transforms to vehicle mode and drives into him, causing him to drop the box. This one, too, contains only a rock, meaning that Leobreaker ''is'' actually carrying the real key! Megatron is surprised that Prime has that much trust in any of his troops, but Prime merely finds it sad that Megatron can't trust any of ''his'' men that much. Dismissing the issue, Megatron and Starscream head after the key with all due haste.

The two Decepticons catch up to Snarl and Leobreaker in the jungle, and Starscream locks swords with Snarl while Megatron stalks Leobreaker through greenery. Megatron's taunts draw Leobreaker out of hiding, but before the two can battle, Optimus Prime arrives to back his friend up. The pair combine into Savage Claw Mode, only to be cut down from behind by Starscream. As the merged pair fall, they drop the box containing the Cyber Planet Key, and Megatron seizes it, before preparing to deliver the final blow. Before he can, Prime's [[Matrix of Leadership|Matrix]] shines with energy, interacting with the Cyber Planet Key and causing a beam of energy to shoot into the sky. At first, nothing seems to come of it, and Megatron returns to the matter at hand... when he is suddenly hit by a barrage of a laser fire! Looking heavenward, everyone sees that the Matrix and the Key have opened a [[space bridge]] to [[Earth]], and all the other Autobots, [[Mini-Con]]s and humans have come to join their comrades! Surrounded by Autobots, Megatron tries to muscle his way through, but Prime is able to muster enough strength for a final attack, taking out Megatron and reacquiring the Cyber Planet Key.

After the Decepticons retreat, the heroes all regroup back at Scourge's temple, where Lori greets them. [[Bud Hansen|Bud]] is especially impressed with Scourge's fearsome dragon form, but the Jungle Planet leader is now thoroughly tired of outsiders and strange little creatures cluttering up his planet, and orders them all to leave. With the Key now in their hands, the Autobots comply and head back to Earth through the space bridge. On their journey, Vector Prime asks the Mini-Cons how the "secret mission" he assigned them was going, and [[Jolt (Cybertron)|Jolt]] attempts to tell him about their new alliance with [[Lucy Suzuki]], only to be drowned out by some shouts from Coby, who worries what the other Autobots will think about another human knowing of their existence.

Meanwhile, back on Earth, Lucy Suzuki's ears would probably be burning, if she wasn't in the middle of a freezing blizzard, still carrying on her research in the Arctic. When some of her fellow scientists discover a [[Crosswise (Cybertron)|huge object]] frozen in a wall of ice, Lucy is called in to examine, but none of the assembled men and women of science expect a beam to burst from the ice and scan the car that brought her! The ice wall crumbles, and a perfect replica of the car bursts out, much to everyone's shock... except, perhaps, that of the [[Mike Franklin|government agent]] watching through binoculars from nearby, who announces that at last, he has seen a robot in disguise with his own eyes....

==Synopsis==
As [[Alpha Quintesson|Alpha Q]] observes, the [[Decepticon]]s have captured planet [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]]. Aboard the ''[[Miranda II]]'', the [[Autobot]]s plan their next move: [[Kicker Jones|Kicker]] and [[Arcee (Energon)|Arcee]], who are unaffected by the [[energon gas]], will go to the planet's surface and shut off the gas grid.

On the planet's surface, Kicker, [[Rad White|Rad]], and [[Brian Jones (Energon)|Dr. Jones]] hide from a searching [[Cruellock]] drone. Later, they meet up with [[Miranda Jones (Energon)|Miranda]], who's prepared dinner, and report that the Decepticons have taken over the control room. The [[human]]s plan to reach [[Primus]], if [[Optimus Prime (Armada)/Cartoon continuity|Optimus Prime]] hasn't already contacted him... but dinner comes first.

In the control room, [[Starscream (Armada)|Starscream]] suspects they haven't wiped out all the planet's Autobots yet. [[Six Shot (Energon)|Six Shot]] offers to finish the job, prompting the old crew to comment on how much he's cozying up to [[Megatron (Armada)/Cartoon continuity|Galvatron]]. Galvatron wonders about the benefits of the [[Super Energon]]; Six Shot tells him it can move the entire planet anywhere Galvatron wishes. Galvatron orders [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] moved to [[Planet Q|Alpha Q's planet]], not caring that the absence of a sun will spell its doom regardless.

The humans' dinner is interrupted by earthquake activity as the planet begins to move. Elsewhere, [[Wing Saber (Energon)|Wing Saber]] reassures the hiding population that Optimus is on the way.

The Autobots observe as the planet begins to move toward the space bridge, propelled by a portion of the [[energon grid]]. Six Shot spots the ''Miranda II'' on his scope, and fires at it with the grid. Kicker is knocked loose from the ship's hull, and is saved by [[Superion Maximus]].

Galvatron is furious at Six Shot for taking independent activity, and violently berates him. The old crew gets in a "toldja so", before the Decepticons go to attack the ship up close. The Autobots prepare to defend themselves, starting with landing the ship, but the Decepticons arrive before they can begin to set down.

The various [[Transformer]]s go toe to toe on the ship's hull; Prime faces off with Galvatron single-handed, while [[Cliffjumper (Energon)|Cliffjumper]] continues to work on landing the ship. Below, Six Shot is angry over his rebuke, especially since he has a clear shot at the ship; eventually he decides he can't wait any more, and fires. A massive beam tears through the ship, which begins falling. Various [[Omnicon]]s are knocked out of the holding bays. As the ship enters the atmosphere, the energon gas begins overwhelming the Autobots. Furious that someone stole his thunder, Galvatron demands to know if Six Shot was responsible for the attack on the ship; Six Shot defiantly confirms that he was.

The Decepticons clear out. The Autobots evacuate the ''Miranda II'', but notice Prime is missing. Prime reaches the bridge, and finds Cliffjumper still struggling to keep it from a full crash. He finally discovers that the Decepticons' weakest point is on [[Earth]], and authorizes Kicker to launch. Kicker and the Omnicons deploy. Prime orders all engines to full, in one last gambit. The ship is unable to pull out of its descent. Omega and Superion rescue Prime and Cliffjumper. Prime salutes the ship as it falls.

Kicker somehow makes planetfall aboard Arcee, who drives down the [[energon tower]]s, while the Omnicons deploy energon fields to cushion their fall. The assembled Omnicons witness the final plunge of the ''Miranda II'', which lands in a final explosion and cloud of smoke.

Galvatron storms into the control center and begins bashing Six Shot around. Six Shot says that one day Galvatron will need him, and gets a fist to the face. Galvatron leaves, saying that Optimus Prime isn't Six Shot's only enemy now.

Arcee and Kicker reflect that the crashed, ruined hulk of the ''Miranda II'', projecting from the landscape like a stalk, is like a beacon of strength.

* Jetfire's plan is supposed to include a point about finding a location with a weak Decepticon signal. Prime repeats this point a moment later. The dub omits this.
* Starscream's warning to Galvatron originally includes an apparent mention of Primus as a possible threat, which is omitted from the dub. Oddly, this episode's dub doesn't omit Primus elsewhere.
* The dub largely omits a running gag of nobody being able to remember Six Shot's name, instead referring to him as "little brother". As a result, in the dub, Six Shot randomly spouts the line "I've ''earned'' the name Six Shot!" for no reason.

[[Kicker Jones|Kicker]] views a video message from his [[Brian Jones (Energon)|dad]], [[Miranda Jones (Energon)|mom]], and [[Sally Jones (Energon)|sister]], with Dr. Jones waxing enthusiastic over the new [[energon grid]]. Of course, he urges Kicker to keep looking for more [[energon]]. Kicker turns the message off in frustration, only to have Sally show up in person. [[Hot Shot (Armada)|Hot Shot]] also arrives and tells everyone that their work is not done yet, as the [[Decepticon]]s are still running rampant.

[[Scorponok (Energon)|Scorponok]] leads a horde of [[Divebomb (Energon)|Divebomb]] and [[Insecticon (Energon)|Insecticon]] drones on a bombing run. Below ground, [[Megatron (Armada)/Cartoon continuity|Megatron]] is impatient for [[Unicron]]'s restoration to be completed. [[Shockblast]] comments that it's his own fault for failing to defeat the [[Autobot]]s, and Megatron orders him to fight him.

[[Ironhide (Energon)|Ironhide]] laments that he still feels like a rookie. Hot Shot takes him off on a [[space bridge]] run, to "show him something". Feeling bored, [[Jetfire (Armada)|Jetfire]] and Kicker follow, to [[Misha Miramond (Energon)|Misha]]'s frustration. [[Arcee (Energon)|Arcee]] notes that "the boys" are treating the new planet as their personal playground. Hot Shot and Ironhide arrive there, and Hot Shot announces that they're going to work on driving skills.

They arrive to find they're here for the [[Autobot Grand Prix]], hosted by Sally and [[Skyblast (Energon)|Skyblast]] (who somehow found sunglasses in his size)... and Ironhide's entered! The other 'bots are doubtful that the rookie can handle it, but Hot Shot gives him a vote of confidence.

[[Rodimus (Energon)|Rodimus]] reports the race to [[Optimus Prime (Armada)/Cartoon continuity|Optimus Prime]], who's a bit surprised, but takes it in stride when Rodimus admits to organizing it. Ironhide crashes while trying to pass the others, and Kicker joins him to help out. Jetfire and [[Bulkhead (Energon)|Bulkhead]] go to "make things interesting". [[Downshift (Energon)|Downshift]] and [[Prowl (Energon)|Prowl]] wind up in a pileup, but keep going. Kicker shows Ironhide how to cheat by drafting off of Downshift, which Ironhide interprets as a cue to sideswipe Prowl out of the way.

Bulkhead decides it's a good idea to open fire on the track, destroying a section of it, delaying some of the racers. Kicker lectures Ironhide on what Hot Shot's been trying to teach him.

Only Hot Shot and Ironhide make it past all the obstacles, when Jetfire decides to add more missile fire to the mix. Optimus shows up with <strike>his valet</strike> [[Wing Saber (Energon)|Wing Saber]] in tow and, after verifying that the laser fire is harmless, decides to join in the shooting-at-one's-comrades fun.

Prime lands in the race course, and Hot Shot and Ironhide must get past him. Ironhide ends up holding Optimus at a standstill, and urges Hot Shot to reach the finish line. But before Hot Shot can get there, Arcee and a mysterrrrious helmeted rider with a lot of long, flowing black hair passes them all and reaches the finish line. It's Misha! OMG! Who coulda guessed?

In a shiny place, [[Alpha Quintesson|Alpha Q]] laughs with the Autobots as they celebrate, and finds he likes laughing. His planet is safe!

Megatron has beaten the stuffing out of Shockblast, and only stops at the behest of Starscream, who needs him to finish the reconstruction of Unicron.

Dr. Jones finds what he suspects is an ancient temple where an ancient life force awaits to help protect the planet. Suddenly a figure emerges from the floor; energy strikes it, bringing it to life: [[Omega Supreme (Energon)|Omega Supreme]]!

When combined with Hot Shot's also inappropriately sombre delivery of the line "I'm sorry, Kicker", it makes it seem like something sad has happened. It's the sort of music that would play if Hot Shot was about to tell Kicker his parents were killed and he brought Sally there for safety. Instead, he just brought Sally there so she could be the commentator for the race, and apologizes because Kicker isn't the only one on a special mission. Even with the Decpticons, nothing particularly dark is happening in this episode, so who's idea was it to slap that score into that scene?!
* This is the first episode where they finally unscramble [[Downshift (Energon)|Downshift's]] and [[Cliffjumper (Energon)|Cliffjumper's]] names and voice actors.
* Although Inferno himself doesn't put in an appearance, there are a number of generic bots that use his animation model; all of them are white with limited highlights. The first one appears in the background of the sequence where the pit is shown, and the rest are in an early pan shot of the audience.

[[Side Burn (RID)|Side Burn]], up to his usual antics, tries to seduce a red sports car, but his attempts to woo are arrested by [[Tow-Line (RID)|Tow-Line]], who punishes the [[Autobot]] for parking in a No Parking Zone. The tow-truck drags Side Burn to [[Prowl (RID)|Prowl]], who introduces the truck as the newest Autobot soldier. Inside the Autobot base, Prowl inducts Tow-Line into the police's traffic patrol. (Illegal parking is apparently a high priority for the Autobots.)

Tow-Line starts working immediately, and takes his job with extreme dedication. Eventually, Tow-Line's mania goes out of control, and he begins to impound misplaced tricycles and wedding vehicles. After Prowl explains the limits of Tow-Line's jurisdiction, [[Sky-Byte (RID)|Sky-Byte]] and [[Gas Skunk]] notice the new Autobot and begin a sinister plot.

The [[Predacon (RID)|Predacon]] trio wait inside of a mis-parked truck, and when Tow Line inevitably comes to tow the truck away, the three Predacons ambush the rookie. They bring Tow-Line to Sky-Byte and begin the process of brainwashing the truck into a loyal Predacon. [[Slapper (RID)|Slapper]] tries to hypnotize Tow-Line using a dangling pendant, but only succeeds in putting himself to sleep. [[Gas Skunk]] explains they should try using a metronome (again, failing). Eventually, [[Dark Scream]] loads a brainwashing program into the captive via disc drive. Tow-Line, unbalanced, is released to enforce his own rules on the Autobots.

A misguided Tow-Line first steals a bewildered [[X-Brawn]] away from an indignant [[Kelly (RID)|Kelly]]. On the road, X-Brawn uses his own grappling apparatus to try to stop Tow-Line's deluded quest, but merely harms Tow-Line's memory banks. Even more confused than before, Tow-Line brings X-Brawn to a power plant and deposits the Autobot into a holding box.

Tow-Line's next victim is Side Burn, who is deposited into the same box. Next, Tow-Line captures [[Rapid Run (RID)|Rapid Run]] and carries the large train through the city to the deposit box. Prowl and [[Koji Onishi|Koji]] see the capture and give chase, but lose their target in rush hour traffic. But at least now the other Autobots know that something is afoot.

Once they meet up, Prowl and [[Optimus Prime (RID)|Prime]] confront Tow-Line in part of a staged intervention to help him deal with his towing addiction. Tow-Line makes it clear that he's gone a bit wonko when he accuses Prime of being the Autobots' "evil mastermind." Sky-Byte and the Predacons arrive to help their "friend", but Prime quickly blasts away the goons. Taking Tow-Line home for diagnostics, Prime notices the disc placed inside of Tow-Line by Dark Scream. With his mind restored, Tow-Line brings the two Autobots to rescue the others he stored at the power plant.

The Autobots find their allies, and Tow-Line apologizes for the kidnapping. [[Megatron (RID)|Megatron]] and all the Predacons show up again, but are defeated almost as quickly as they were earlier. Tow-Line goes back to apologize, and Optimus explains that compassion and understanding are important values to uphold (even if it means arresting Prowl during the epilogue).

It took me a while to figure it out, but I finally did. It is completely possible for Kremzeek to be casting a shadow. I stumbled across it while researching whether lightsabers cast shadows or not. It turns out that as long as there is a light source shining on an opaque object, even if that object is a light source itself, it will cast a shadow. You can test it out yourself with a desk lamp and some sort of opaque light tube (I'd suggest a Force FX lightsaber). So as long as there is another light source and Kremzeek is opaque and not translucent, there is nothing wrong with that picture.
