He is renowned across Cybertron for his intuitive prowess as a tracker and detective. He eschews equipment and devices, preferring instead to rely on knowledge and instinct. This personal involvement in his craft extends right to the end, when he gets to unleash his sadistic pleasures on his terrified victims. The joy he feels at the sight of helpless targets' faces when he blows them away is worth more to him than the money he gladly collects for doing so.

Axer has also traveled to a [[Robots in Disguise (franchise)|different dimension]], where he doesn't ''ride'' a "turbo cycle," but rather he ''transforms'' into one instead. When contacted by [[T-AI]] during [[Megatron (RID)|Megatron]]'s attack on [[New York City]], X-Brawn was acting as [[Kelly (RID)|Kelly]]'s SUV. He swiftly ejected her through his sunroof and joined the other two brothers at the [[Global Space Bridge]]. On arrival in New York, he saved [[Koji Onishi]] from being buried under rubble and proceeded to engage [[Slapper (RID)|Slapper]] in combat. Said combat involved asking Slapper to measure the length of his tongue, while X-Brawn drove to the top of a building so he could strafe Slapper from above. The battle ultimately ended with Megatron abducting Koji's father, [[Kenneth Onishi|Doctor Onishi]]. {{storylink|Battle Protocol!}}

The Autobot Brothers were later assigned to intercept the [[Predacon (RID)|Predacons]], who were prowling [[Metro City]] and stealing batteries from cars. X-Brawn scaled a tower in an attempt to spot the enemy and subsequently turned up late after [[Sky-Byte (RID)|Sky-Byte]] retrieved an explosive device from a car. He was able to steal the device from Sky-Byte with his grappling hook but accidentally triggered its detonation sequence. Proceeding with all haste, he swung from building to building with his grappling hook and carried the device to the top of a radio tower where he tossed it as high as he could. [[Optimus Prime (RID)|Optimus Prime]]'s power stream sent the device into orbit where it exploded without destroying anything (anything important, anyway). {{storylink|An Explosive Situation}}

Assigned to protect the [[Linear RFG]] bullet train, the Autobot Brothers found themselves tangling with the Predacons who were trying to blow up a rail bridge on the train's path. Ultimately they were unable to save the bridge, but the train was saved by [[Team Bullet Train]]. {{storylink|Bullet Train to the Rescue}} Together with Optimus, the brothers protected a [[Plutonium Energy Generator]] from the Predacons. They escorted the generator as it was transported across the city the next day, but were brought to a halt by a traffic jam engineered by Slapper. Fortunately the [[Spy Changer]]s were able to lend a hand and the Autobot Brothers got to sit back and watch the Predacons' defeat. {{storylink|Spychangers to the Rescue}}

X-Brawn was watching a Motocross race when T-AI told him to report to the Global Space Bridge as a ship was under attack by Predacons. Optimus joined the Autobot Brothers at the end of the space bridge, which was terminated some distance short of the troubled vessel. After a few attempts by his fellows to jump the distance, X-Brawn jumped into the water in vehicle mode and carried [[Side Burn (RID)|Side Burn]] out to the ship. While Optimus battled Sky-Byte, X-Brawn successfully repaired the ship, which returned to an even keel. {{storylink|The Hunt for Black Pyramid}}

When Megatron and the Predacon trio attacked Metro City, T-AI discovered that X-Brawn and [[Prowl (RID)|Prowl]] were both out hunting for Side Burn, who was exploring some ruins with Koji. The pair eventually reached the ruins and were in time to stop Sky-Byte making off with a box, which turned out to contain Doctor Onishi's microchip. This held much valuable information and would help the Autobots greatly in the struggle to follow. {{storylink|The Secret of the Ruins}}

X-Brawn was once again acting as Kelly's car when he was assigned to quadrant 5, and had to unceremoniously dump her out a second time. As it turned out, Side Burn had been captured by the Predacons. Optimus, despite the remaining two brothers' protests that it was an obvious trap, went in and was captured as well. X-Brawn and Prowl heavily disguised their vehicle modes in order to creep close enough to get the drop on the Predacons, allowing them to rescue their comrades. During the ensuing battle, X-Brawn gave Side Burn a piggy-back ride to climb up a pile of junk. {{storylink|Sideburn's Obsession}}

The brothers were assigned to protect "[[Grandpa]]", an aging steam train. In the end Team Bullet Train did most of the work protecting Grandpa, but X-Brawn was busy stopping Side Burn from chasing red sports cars anyhow. {{storylink|Secret Weapon: D-5}} All three brothers volunteered to enter the [[International Grand Prix]] in order to try and find [[Skid-Z (RID)|Skid-Z]], a recently arrived Autobot who had scanned a racing car and become possessed by the urge to compete in races. X-Brawn reveled in the mountainous terrain, but he, Optimus and the other two brothers found themselves holding up a huge rock dropped onto them by Megatron. X-Brawn was the first Autobot to be towed away by [[Tow-Line (RID)|Tow-Line]] after the latter was reprogrammed by the Predacons. He used his grappling hook to try to get free, but only succeeded in jarring Tow-Line's circuits, confusing the tow truck into taking him to the wrong place and dropping him down a pit. He was joined by Side Burn and [[Rapid Run (RID)|Rapid Run]], and the trapped trio made some unsuccessful attempts to escape before they were rescued by a repaired Tow-Line and fought the Predacons once more. {{storylink|Tow-Line Goes Haywire}}

When the Predacons became convinced that the "[[Cave of the Dragon]]" harboured a powerful Transformer, X-Brawn and Prowl guarded it. All three brothers employed their acting skills to try to make the Predacons think that the disguises Optimus and Team Bullet Train were wearing were a giant transforming robot, and got fired on by [[Railspike (RID)|Railspike]] for their trouble. {{storylink|The Ultimate Robot Warrior}} Called in to the Autobot Base, X-Brawn and the rest of the Autobots watched footage of their old adventures and speculated on where the Predacon base might be located. {{storylink|Hope for the Future}}

Optimus and the Autobot brothers went to [[Castle Peak]] to investigate what turned out to be a crashed Autobot spacecraft. Unfortunately they were unable to prevent Megatron stealing the six [[protoform]]s inside and taking them to a [[McKinley Army Base|nearby military base]] where the protoforms were reformatted into Decepticon warriors. {{storylink|The Decepticons|The Decepticons}} While subsequently on patrol near [[Sherman Dam]], X-Brawn stumbled on the Decepticons and opened fire, only to be tossed into the lake behind the dam by [[Scourge (RID)|Scourge]]. Proving unable to swim, he sank to the bottom and was eventually joined by his two brothers for a game of underwater "I Spy". The trio were freed when the Decepticons blew a hole in the dam and, in the ensuing fight, they aided [[Rail Racer (RID)|Rail Racer]] in fighting off [[Ruination (RID)|Ruination]]. {{storylink|Commandos}}

X-Brawn was enjoying a spot of off-roading on a fine, sunny day when he stumbled on Sky-Byte and his three Predacon cohorts drawing a huge Megatron image in the ground. Outnumbered, he hastily returned returned to base. There, T-AI had just discovered that a recently-launched space shuttle was actually [[Movor]]—the Decepticon was tracking Autobots in the hope one of them would lead him to the Autobot base. X-Brawn contacted Side Burn, currently in the process of being tracked, and told him the red sports car he was chasing was at [[Pier 7B]]. [[Mega-Octane]] met with Optimus claiming that the Decepticons had rediscovered their Autobot sides. Although the Autobot brothers were skeptical, they babysat the Decepticons who were forced to do all manner of menial tasks. The brother finally admitted that perhaps the six Decepticons were honest after all. The three brothers were called to a power plant where they chased off Sky-Byte and the Predacons. Later X-Brawn was once again acting as Kelly's mode of transport when he was "bushwhacked" by the four Predacons, who surrendered the information that Scourge was going to raid the [[Bayshore power plant]]. Rushing there with his brothers, X-Brawn was soon notified by T-AI that the Decepticons had actually attacked the [[Crestline power plant]] instead. Sent to a diamond mine, the three brothers were brought up short by an incomplete space bridge, and were introduced to the [[Build Team]]. Keen to prove themselves in battle the Build Team took over the mission at the mine. {{storylink|Wedge's Short Fuse}} Shortly afterwards, X-Brawn had another narrow escape from the Decepticons, nipping into the space bridge at the last moment. This event drove the Decepticons to locate the control system for the space bridge and sabotage it - the next time X-Brawn tried to use it, he ended up on the top of a building. A second attempt deposited him in the middle of a desert. After being duped out of stolen oil by the Build Team, the Decepticons began attacking construction equipment. X-Brawn turned up to one such attack only for the Commandos to leave as soon as he arrived. A second attempt to confront the Decepticons had the three Autobot Brothers turn up in the middle of nowhere — the Build Team had sabotaged the Global Space Bridge so they could confront the Decepticons alone. {{storylink|A Test of Metal}}

While attempting to stop the Decepticons raiding an oil refinery, the three brothers were interrupted by a [[Ultra Magnus (RID)|mysterious Autobot car carrier]], who argued with them as the Decepticons escaped. Later they encountered the Autobot again and this time he scrambled their circuits and deposited them in a junk yard. Tracking Ultra Magnus, the Autobot Brothers spied him talking with Sky-Byte and assumed he was betraying them. The trio soon found themselves captured by the Predacons and were promptly freed by Magnus, who informed them he was pretending to defect in order to gain information. Returning to help Optimus against the Predacons, the three brothers found themselves being beaten on by Megatron. All three of them received a sudden power boost which was somehow channelled through Magnus, powering them up and enabling them to fight off the Predacons, with a little help from Omega Prime. {{storylink|The Two Faces of Ultra Magnus}} Some time later X-Brawn was sent to join his two brothers who were suffering an odd power drain and on the losing end of a fight with the Decepticons. The Autobot Brothers were sent to guard the subway below Metro City as the Build Team was searching for some mysterious ruins. The trio were confronted by the Decepticons, come to find the same ruins, and left them to the tender mercies of Team Bullet Train. Wandering further, they encountered Ultra Magnus and Side Burn was distracted by a hallucination of red sports cars, leading the group to the ruins themselves. {{storylink|Fortress Maximus (episode)|Fortress Maximus}} To their surprise the ruins turned out to be [[Fortress Maximus (RID)|Fortress Maximus]], whom the Autobots set about concealing in Metro City. While patrolling to ensure the operation wasn't uncovered, the Autobot Brothers stumbled on Sky-Byte talking to Koji and confronted the shark. Koji discovered that the pod Sky-Byte had been carrying contained his abducted father and interrupted the fight to tell the Autobots that Sky-Byte had rescued his dad. Doctor Onishi and T-AI quickly worked out a way to locate the remaining [[O-Part]]s needed and soon the Autobot Brothers were locked in competition with the Build Team to find the most of the artefacts. Side Burn was particularly competitive and, when he was depressed at losing the competition, X-Brawn cheered him up by pointing out an approaching red car. {{storylink|A Friendly Contest}} Back in the Autobot base, T-AI merged with the O-Parts. She soon sent Optimus and the Autobot brothers, with Koji tagging along, to a remote part of the Sahara desert in search of the [[Orb of Sigma]]. The foursome located the Orb under the desert and fought Megatron and the Decepticons for possession of it, eventually returning it to base. {{storylink|Peril from the Past}}

With information extracted from the Orb, the brothers and Build Team visited a temple from which they extracted [[Cerebros (RID)|Cerebros]], the control robot for Fortress Maximus. They were confronted on exiting the temple by the Decepticons and Predacons who stole Cerebros. T-AI was unimpressed at the loss and berated X-Brawn at length. The Autobots were forced to go on the defensive against the Decepticons and guard Maximus' hiding place. Scourge attempted to control Maximus in the desert by magnifying the human portion of his bio-signature. Again Optimus and the Autobot Brothers rushed there. While Side Burn looked after Koji and his Dad, X-Brawn and Prowl charged Ruination who swiftly defeated them. Maximus was subsequently halted by the arrival of the Build Team and Team Bullet Train with a thousand children. {{storylink|The Human Element}} Having thwarted one attempt by Scourge and Mega-Octane to kidnap Koji, the brothers were assigned to guard him. Koji wasn't keen on being guarded and swapped clothing with his friend [[Karl]], leading to Karl being kidnapped by the Decepticons in another attempt to control Maximus. When the Decepticons located and attacked Autobot headquarters, the Autobots led them into a trap and engaged them in a fierce battle. The arrival of Galvatron's ''[[Megastar]]'' turned the tide in the Decepticons favour, until the Autobots were able to activate Fortress Maximus and destroy the battle station. {{storylink|Surprise Attack!}} Galvatron, however, was not through and began to drain energy from Fortress Maximus. The brothers attempted to shoot him down without success. After Galvatron managed to use [[Cyber-bat|cyber-bats]] to control Earth's children, Omega Prime called a retreat, but the Autobots were followed into the space bridge by the Decepticons. Galvatron saw this as an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone, and flooded the tunnel with molten lava. The Autobots, with the help of some urging from Koji, were able to escape the lava and confront Galvatron once more. {{storylink|Galvatron's Revenge}} The Autobots soon found themselves on the losing end of the battle, and shielded Optimus long enough for their leader to find Ultra Magnus and form Omega Prime. During the final confrontation between Galvatron and Prime, the rest of the Autobots were all held paralysed but provided Prime with moral support.

A [[protoform]] scanning mishap resulted in a [[Decepticon]] protoform attaining attributes of [[Optimus Prime (RID)|Optimus Prime]] yet retaining the Decepticon programming. This protoform became '''Scourge'''. Scourge is arguably [[Megatron (RID)|Megatron]]'s second in command, leading the new Decepticon forces, a much more effective unit than [[Sky-Byte (RID)|Sky-Byte]]'s [[Predacon (RID)|Predacons]].

He is a ruthless and cunning warrior who contains all of Optimus Prime's strengths and skill, but none of his compassion and mercy. He's also a very ''ambitious'' warrior, with plans to dethrone Megatron!

Scourge's greatest strength is also his weakness—his temper. Fearless and furious, he charges into battle wildly hacking his [[Sword of Fury|broadsword]] as his [[trailer]] combat deck launches missile barrages overhead. Yet his rage also makes him impatient, petulant, and easily provoked; it also scares the heck out of his subordinates.

Naturally, Sky-Byte sees Scourge as a threat on just about every level. For once, he's right.

The robot who came to be named Scourge was originally one of a crew of six [[Autobot|Autobots]] sent to [[Earth]] to reactivate the legendary Autobot battle station, [[Fortress Maximus (RID)|Fortress Maximus]]. As leader of the expedition, Scourge was equipped with the ability to detect the unique energy signatures of the [[O-Part|O-Parts]], the [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertronian]] components that held the key to reawakening Maximus. However, Scourge never had the opportunity to use that ability in the service of the Autobots, when the team's craft malfunctioned and crashed on Earth in the mid-20th century. Having been in [[protoform]]-state with [[Stasis pod|stasis pods]] for the duration of their voyage, the six Autobots were entombed in their crashed ship.

In the early days of the 21st century, archaeologist and energy expert [[Kenneth Onishi|Doctor Kenneth Onishi]]'s work eventually led him to find the various links in the chain of Fortress Maximus—he located the fortress itself beneath [[Metro City]], mapped the location of the O-Parts, and discovered the location of the crashed Autobot spaceship. However, when the evil [[Megatron (RID)|Megatron]] came to Earth with the intent of harnessing Maximus's power, he captured Onishi, and through mental scans, discerned the location of the Autobots' ship. Stealing the six protoforms, Megatron took them to a nearby military base to scan vehicle modes for them, infusing them with a part of his own spark energy to turn them to the side of evil. The first five became the [[Commando|Commandos]], but when Megatron targeted a tanker truck to scan as the alternate mode of the final protoform, [[Optimus Prime (RID)|Optimus Prime]] leapt into action in order to save the truck's [[Kelly (RID)|human driver]], and as a result, the tanker, Prime ''and'' the human were all scanned. With an infusion of Megatron's spark energy to complete the concoction, Scourge was born, emerging from his pod as a dark twin of Optimus Prime, who proved that Megatron's programming had over-ridden any Autobot goodness within him. To prove the effectiveness of the new troops, Scourge led them on a mission to attack [[Sherman Dam]] and made short work of the [[Autobot Brothers]], tossing them into the lake behind the dam. Once the dam was mined with bombs, he attempted to detonate it, only to find that the bombs had been tampered with—Sky-Byte and the Predacons, annoyed at being pushed down in rank by the new arrivals, had taken control of the bombs in order to prove their own effectiveness to Megatron. The arrival of more Autobots in the form of Optimus and [[Team Bullet Train]] caused Megatron to call off the mission with only minor damage to the dam. {{storylink|Commandos}}

The next mission saw Scourge and the Commandos on guard duty, perhaps as a punishment for their previous failed mission, while the Predacon trio dug under a volcano. Scourge and Sky-Byte both fought Optimus when the Autobot leader arrived with the [[Spy Changer]]s, although the shark appeared to regard Scourge as just as valid a target. When a flow of lava was unleashed, Scourge unleashed a Barrage Attack on the Spy Changers who were attempting to stop it, little caring that Sky-Byte and the Predacons were in the blast area. His amusement when the lava soon chased the Predacons into the water was almost palpable. {{storylink|Volcano}}

After [[Movor]] was shot into orbit, Scourge grew steadily impatient with the shuttle's hopeless attempts to guide the rest of the Decepticons to the Autobot base and threatened much bodily injury. Movor was tricked by the Autobots into leading the Decepticons into a trap. While Scourge grappled with Optimus, Movor attempted to help by firing on Optimus from space, but only succeeded in hitting Scourge, who promised to turn the shuttle into "metal confetti". {{storylink|Attack from Outer Space}}

As part of a new ploy, Scourge interrupted Sky-Byte's attack on an oil rig and chased off the Predacon. Seeing this, Optimus Prime believed that the Decepticons had begun to experience a resurgence of their Autobot sparks. Scourge was disgruntled with [[Mega-Octane]]'s plan, believing lies and deceit to be unworthy of a warrior, but went along with it. The Decepticons successfully gave the appearance of changing sides to the Autobots and underwent various tests such as cleaning a forest, with Scourge holding his temper barely in check the whole time. The appearance of Sky-Byte (who'd been kept ignorant of the plan) gave Scourge an opportunity to blow off some steam, but his attack endangered the life of a [[Kelly (RID)|passerby]]. When Optimus told him to stand down, Scourge exploded and ended up giving the whole plan away, forcing the Decepticons to retreat under the full force of Optimus' rage. {{storylink|The Test (episode)|The Test}}

Scourge presented the increasingly impatient Megatron with a new plan which involved attacking power plants. The Autobots were hampered by the misguided assistance of Sky-Byte, but seemed to repel most of the Decepticon assaults. {{storylink|The Fish Test}} Scourge and the Decepticons subsequently butted in on one of Sky-Byte's plans, stealing a disk supposedly containing the plans to the Autobots' [[Global Space Bridge]] which the Predacons were trying to obtain. Annoyed by the Autobots constant escapes through the space bridge, Scourge had [[Ro-Tor (RID)|Ro-Tor]] track one of the [[Build Team]] to the space bridge control center. The Decepticons broke in and Scourge sabotaged the controls, resulting in the space bridge sending any Autobots who used it to a random destination. Scourge and [[Ruination (RID)|Ruination]] attempted to intercept Optimus on his way to taking the O-Parts to Sky-Byte, who had taken some humans as hostage. Ruination was swiftly disabled by the Autobot, but Scourge was only wounded and trailed Optimus to the site of the [[CGA Tower]] attack. He again fought Optimus in an attempt to take the O-Parts, but his threatened attack on the tower itself was thwarted by the Build Team. After a semi-successful attempt to raid an oil refinery, Scourge and Mega-Octane leaked a transmission ordering Sky-Byte to look for O-Parts in order to lead the Autobots into an ambush. However instead of the expected Autobots, they were confronted by [[Ultra Magnus (RID)|Ultra Magnus]]. They attempted to fight the newly-arrived Autobot warrior, but retreated after Optimus Prime arrived to lend a hand. {{storylink|Ultra Magnus (episode)|Ultra Magnus}} Back at [[Megastar|base]], they watched Movor's surveillance of Ultra Magnus beating down Optimus, and Megatron demanded of Scourge to know why one Autobot had done what the Decepticons had failed to do so many times. They were able to track Sky-Byte to the island on which Optimus was recuperating after the battle and mount an attack, but were chased off once again when Optimus and Ultra Magnus merged into [[Omega Prime]]. {{storylink|Ultra Magnus: Forced Fusion!}}

The Decepticons interrupted another of Sky-Byte's plans in order to kidnap the Autobot Brothers. With the three brothers as hostages, the Decepticons led Optimus into a trap and fought the Autobot leader savagely. They were again seen off after Magnus rescued the brothers. {{storylink|The Two Faces of Ultra Magnus}} Sensing an opportunity, Scourge met with Ultra Magnus to try to persuade the Autobot to join him against both Optimus Prime and Megatron. With information extracted from Doctor Onishi, Scourge and the Decepticons were able to find a huge cavern beneath Metro City housing some ruins. Although the Autobots were on hand to try to fight them off, Scourge attempted to approach the ruins, and his proximity caused Fortress Maximus to rise. {{storylink|Fortress Maximus (episode)|Fortress Maximus}} The exposure to the battle station's energies awakened memories of his original Autobot mission to find and reactivate Maximus and, twisted by Megatron's reprogramming, he became determined to take control of the huge Autobot in order to take over leadership of the Decepticon/Predacon forces and eventually the Universe. With Ruination fighting the Autobots as a distraction, Scourge set out to find Maximus, fighting with Optimus Prime and eventually breaking into the cavern to find that Maximus was gone. As the race began to locate the remaining O-Parts, Scourge rediscovered his ability to sense them, part of his original mission as an Autobot. When Sky-Byte protested that this wasn't part of the mission, Scourge accused him of becoming soft. Magnus and Prime, after a brief discussion, agreed to surrender. Scourge raised his sword to strike them down, however he was interrupted by the Predacons making their escape with the nuclear generator. * Axer's vehicle has two names. In all forms of fiction (bios, comics) it's called a "Turbo Cycle," but in descriptions of the toy (packaging, instructions, catalog) it's called an "Off-Road Cycle." Note that Action Master [[Prowl (G1)|Prowl]]'s vehicle was also called a "[[Turbo Cycle]]."

Not only is it fun to see humans scatter at the sight of him, bashing Decepticons with his flaming [[wikipedia:Flail (weapon)|flail]] is more fun than bashing trees.

Swoop made his appearance along with the other Dinobots, but neither he nor [[Snarl (Animated)|Snarl]] spoke. He battled the Autobots but like the others ended up trapped in tar, before being relocated to Dinobot Island by Prowl and Bulkhead. He also did not [[Transformation|transform]], as he didn't know it was possible until [[Grimlock (Animated)|Grimlock]] discovered ''he'' could. {{storylink|Blast from the Past}}

He was later forced by the villain [[Meltdown (Animated)|Meltdown]] to kidnap [[Sari Sumdac]] and attack her would-be rescuers, [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]] and [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]]. Once Meltdown was trapped and unable to hurt him, he demonstrated he'd learned to transform and joined his fellow Dinobots in threatening the acid-thrower. However, before Meltdown could be hurt, Swoop's attention was diverted to [[Colossus Rhodes]] and two of Meltdown's mutants, and he and the other Dinobots beat up on them instead. {{storylink|Survival of the Fittest}}

He would later be found along with his fellow Dinobots by [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]], Prowl and Bulkhead to see if they would help fight against the [[Decepticons]]. However, Grimlock refused to fight with the [[Autobots]], saying that they would destroy robots. Optimus then replied to Grimlock that the Dinobots were robots themselves. When Optimus, [[Ultra Magnus (Animated)|Autobot Commander Ultra Magnus]], and [[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|Planetary Bitch Sentinel Prime]] went to find the Ark, they intruded on Swoop's territory and gave him a big ass-kicking which a slightly big jerk like him deserves. However, he was scared off by Ultra Magnus and his electrical powers. {{storylink|The Elite Guard}}

When his friend Grimlock had a large spike in his toe, he went on a rampage, which he tried to prevent, but to no avail. Prowl managed to reluctantly use [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet's]] [[EMP]] Blaster (which he was borrowing) before anything was damaged. When Prowl told him he would be okay and Bulkhead took the spike out of his toes, he was very relieved. {{storylink|A Fistful of Energon}}

He returned once again with his fellow Dinobots, working for [[Blackarachnia (Animated)|Blackarachnia]]. He, Grimlock and Snarl were ordered to fetch Meltdown from prison for her, so that she could be [[Along Came a Spider|rid of her organic half]]. It was revealed that the Dinobots worked for her due to her feminine ways. Grimlock fought and beat both Swoop and Snarl to prove that he loved Blackarachnia most. Blackarachnia then used her mimic ability to steal Grimlock's [[Fire-breath|fire-breathing]] power and proceeded to incinerate Swoop and Snarl. Despite this, they still worked for her later, as they helped both Optimus and Grimlock by defeating [[Fusion creature|Meltdown's mutants]] once again. Unlike Grimlock, Swoop seemed indifferent to the fact that Blackarachnia then left them all. {{storylink|Black Friday (episode)|Black Friday}}

Swoop later found the female spider, who asked him to deliver the fugitive [[Wasp]] for her. He agreed and took the fugitive to the island, with the [[Cybertron Elite Guard|Elite Guard]] soldiers [[Jetfire (Animated)|Jetfire]], [[Jetstorm (Animated)|Jetstorm]], and Sentinel Prime still on his tail. However, he managed to evade their pursuit and brought Wasp back to Meltdown's lab. Later, he and the others were guarding the way to the lab when they encountered the Jet twins. Later on, a Rage virus infection stopped him from showing this power of speech. He instead turned violent and attacked Grimlock, hovered around for [[Afterburn]] to stand on, and threw [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]] into mud. Not that big a rage then. {{storylink|Ratchet & Grimlock Are DEAD?}}

Later still, a huge row between him and Grimlock over a TV program saw Swoop booted out of the Dinobots. On his way to join the Autobots, he buzzed past a [[United States Military|USAF]] plane and so got a bollocking from Prime when he landed, causing him to leave in a huff. However, soon the Autobots needed aerial assistance to stop a rogue stealth bomber, and Bumblebee convinced Swoop to help by <strike>reminding him that he owed them for the Rage virus thing</strike> appealing to his <strike>sense of team spirit</strike> ego. He successfully stopped the bomber, saving Detroit and proving to the Autobots that he was awesome.

: Part of the fourth wave of ''Animated'' Deluxes, Swoop transforms into a robotic pteranodon. His relatively simple transformation results in a startlingly [[Show-accuracy|show-accurate]] robot mode (albeit the longer legs in pteranodon mode). He comes with a flail weapon which can be stored under his foot in beast mode. The weapon seems to have an abandoned gimmick where pushing the bottom of the ball in would activate pop-out flames. Apparently it was abandoned after the realization that if a child swallowed it, the flames popping out would make the kid's esophagus worse for wear.
