Eons ago, there had been a war on Earth after the smuggling of Energon to the planet. Since Cybertronian bodies do not decompose, there were some still buried in the ground. His bite passed on the infection, causing a brief plague in the Decepticon Vehicons, the only way of destroying them was a shot to the spark. Starscream and Knock Out attempted to handle the plague themselves but Megatron would soon find out. The plague was quelled by the Decepticons but at the cost of over half the Vehicons being destroyed. [[Airachnid (Prime)|Airachnid]], however, was freed from her stasis lock imprisonment and infected by Cylas before she killed him but she was space bridged to Cybertron's moons via space. After dropping the bombshell that [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] was no more, Optimus assigned the team to [[Griffin Rock]] to work with the Burns family. Blades was not keen on the helicopter [[alternate mode]] he was forced to take, as his previous form had wheels and he was afraid of heights. The four Rescue Bots were presented to the public by [[Charlie Burns|Chief Burns]] at a ceremony, following which Blades discovered that his new partner, [[Dani Burns]], could yell really loud when she wanted him to fly faster as they went to the [[Griffin Rock natural history museum|museum]] to attend to a fire. Dani and Blades continued to have trouble working together, arriving late to an emergency. Cody tried unsuccessfully to get the pair to bond, until there was another emergency when [[Mount Magma]] began threatening the island with lava. Blades and Dani operated the switch to open the volcano's crater as a relief measure, but when they were subsequently caught in an ash cloud, Dani had to cajole a panicking Blades into flying out of it. After Blades felt like he wasn't contributing enough, Dani fitted a scoop claw to him, something he wasn't that enthusiastic about, and made him look fat in robot mode. After Cody souped up a go-kart, Blades was worried he wouldn't want to hang out with them any more. During a snowfall caused by a weather machine, Dani and Blades helped save city hall by flying upside-down and clearing the snow off the roof. After braving huge rats and a torrent of water, they made it to the [[Griffin Rock dam]], where they rescued Kade and alerted the rest of the team to the fact that the dam was near bursting. While on a mission to [[Wayward Island]], Blades was excited to meet Bumblebee, however his attempting to show off backfired when he got stuck to a tree and Bumblebee had to rescue him. Back on Griffin Rock, the team attended another rescue, but when the other three Rescue Bots seized up, Bumblebee once again had to help Blades complete the rescue. As it turned out the others had been infected by a virus from the meteorite, Blades stayed at the fire station while the humans and Bumblebee went to deal with it, but ended up flying out himself to rescue Bumblebee from an undersea trench. Faced with an out-of-control bomb, the two Bots used it to destroy the meteorite, but were infected by the virus themselves. When the Rescue Bots were called out to deal with a huge blob of space goo, Blades was horrified by it eating [[Mister Pettypaws]] and tried fruitlessly to hit it with a park sculpture. He and Dani tracked the [[Squilsh]] from the air, and later provided an air lift when the team cornered it at the [[Griffin Rock Community Pool]]. {{storylink|You've Been Squilshed}} Blades and Dani rescued Frankie from [[Tracer (RB)|tracers]] after most of the townspeople were teleported elsewhere by them, and had to fly through the wind farm to try to lose a swarm of the bugs. Back at the fire station, the Bots had their work cut out squishing bugs, though Blades managed to catch one, enabling Boulder to find a way to neutralize them. He, [[Graham Burns|Graham]] and Dani followed Boulder's sonar and managed to find Chase. {{storylink|Little White Lies}} The Rescue Bots were forced to be extra attentive to their cover as robots when Frankie started filming them for a school project. They stopped a swarm of earthquakes by tracking down the cause in the caves under Griffin Rock. {{storylink|Shake Up}} Following Blades's discovery of fireworks, Cody got a repulsor badge, granting the boy superhero-like powers. When the badge overloaded, trapping Cody in an energy bubble, Blades declared it his mortal enemy, as he and the other Bots worked to rescue Cody. {{storylink|Rescue Boy}}

Blades, the other Rescue Bots, Cody and Frankie were sent back in time to [[1939]] in a time travel accident. There they fell into the hands of a team of scientists headed by Doctor Morocco who performed experiments on them. Morocco was getting to the point of dissecting the four Bots when Optimus and Bumblebee came to their rescue. After accidentally getting frozen by the machine, Blades returned to base, and took part in an attempt to get rid of the device by blowing it up, which was aborted when it turned out Doctor Morocco had claimed the vessel as salvage. The team had to deal with the fallout when the device exploded and froze a five-mile section of ocean. {{storylink|Tip of the Iceberg}} After a rescue mission where Blades became frightened of the snowy weather, Cody took Blades to the Hall of Inspiration where they played the Doc's new [[Griffin Rock Element Quest 1.0|virtual reality game]]. Inside the game, Cody taught Blades about video games, such as power-ups and boss fights, but the game bugged out when lightning struck the Hall. The bosses could hurt the two and Blades overcame his fear and gained the courage to protect Cody, much to Heatwave's surprise. When the rest of the team was mesmerized by cellphones, Blades escaped by virtue of being out on patrol at the time, though it did mean he and Dani had to put out a fire without Heatwave's help. Consequently Cody had to come along with Blades when the Rescue Bot took part in a snake hunt around town. {{storylink|Buddy System}} After an earthquake and a rash of objects being pulled into the air, Blades became convinced that invisible [[griffin]]s were to blame. When Chase appeared to join with Evan and Myles during their crime spree, Blades and the rest of the rescue team found themselves going against him. What's worse, Dani's pilot license was suspended, so unable to fly in Blades, she was partnered with Bumblebee. Though he grew jealous of the pair's growing bond, Blades was soon distracted by helping Optimus retrieve the relic from the ocean, and was later happy when Bumblebee saved Dani from quicksand. {{storylink|Odd Bot Out}}

The rescue team was roped into completing a rail tunnel to the mainland, mainly because Mayor Luskey regarded the Bots as heavy machinery. Following a game of [[Rescue Ball]] and an impromptu rescue mission, Blades's attempt to watch ''[[Cupcake Hoarders]]'' was thwarted when he was lured into a trap and kidnapped by Dr Morocco. Once the other Rescue Bots were similarly brainwashed, Morocco put Blades in charge and sent the team to a cavern under Griffin Rock to mine gold. The suspicious Bots were taken back to the fire house, where the evidence soon convinced them that the Burns family was on their side and they'd been misled by Morocco. He followed his family and their new robots to a fire at the [[Griffin Rock natural history museum|museum]], and became even more suspicious when [[Heatwave (RB)|the fire engine]] saved his dad and brother [[Graham Burns|Graham]] from a falling dinosaur head. That night, he caught the four robots talking and discovered that they were, in fact, [[Autobot]]s from a distant world. Chief Burns invited Cody along to do a security check on [[Griffin Crest]]. After a brief run-in with a bear, Cody made a brief garbled phone call back to base which resulted in the Rescue Bots racing to the crest. Cody and his dad were unable to render any assistance when the bots were immobilized by the [[Electromagnetic pulse|EM field]], but after the crisis was over, they continued with their camping. {{storylink|Rules and Regulations}} Cody's [[Lad Pioneer]] practice was interrupted by a storm hitting the town, during which he and the Rescue Bots were swept out to sea. They washed up on an uninhabited island, where Cody used his Lad Pioneer skills to survive, and they stumbled on the old pirate ship, the ''[[Oaken Crow]]''. They were thus able to return to Griffin Rock with the [[Settlers' Bell]], which had been stolen by pirates in the nineteenth century. {{storylink|The Lost Bell}}

While stargazing with the Bots, Cody spotted a meteor crashing on [[Wayward Island]], and accompanied the others out there the next day. When Heatwave, Boulder and Chase mysteriously seized up, Cody released that the meteorite was the common element, and the team, along with [[Bumblebee (WFC)|Bumblebee]] paid another visit to the island, though Cody was stuck monitoring things from the station. When they learned that [[Tracer (RB)|tracer]] bugs were teleporting people to an unknown location, he and Frankie went to the lab and learned that the target location was the largest cavern under Griffin Rock. When Chase and the Chief went missing, Cody helped the others track the pair to the lead mine, and spotted Chase's footprints at the bottom of a hole. He, Kade and Heatwave were able to locate the Chief in the rapidly-flooding mine and took part in the rescue. {{storylink|Little White Lies}} Cody found himself having to try to steer Frankie away from filming the Rescue Bots when she decided to make a film. When he was caught in an earthquake on [[Lake Street]], she even turned out to be nearby, and she and Cody were almost squished by a falling dish. {{storylink|Shake Up}} After Cody made an ill-advised rescue of [[Sharma|Mr Sharma]] and got caught in an unstable building, Chief Burns wanted to restrict him to following rescues from the fire station. He and the bots tried to work out a solution, leading Cody to have Doc Greene create a repulsor badge. The badge's powers turned Cody into a superhero dubbed "Rescue Boy", but his misuse of it eventually caused it to overload, trapping him in a bubble of energy. Cody accidentally stumbled on a secret room under the lab containing a prototype time machine. During the first test, he, Frankie and the Rescue Bots were pulled to [[1939]] where they encountered Doctor Morocco and [[Elma Hendrickson]]. Escaping the doctor's clutches, they tracked down [[Dither]], whom they needed to operate the time machine to get them back, and mounted a rescue of the Rescue Bots, whom Morocco had as prisoners. With the help of [[Optimus Prime (WFC)|Optimus Prime]] and Bumblebee, the group escaped back to [[2012]], only to find Doctor Morocco was in charge. {{storylink|It's a Bot Time}} In the strange altered present, the two kids employed some detective work to find out they'd accidentally changed history by leaving Dither in the past. Cody created the [[sprinkler suit]], but ended up losing to Frankie's [[Sky Forest (structure)|Sky Forest]]. The sprinkler suit ended up being useful when it turned out salt water was the only thing that would stop the Sky Forest's out-of-control vines after a mishap with an experimental rapid growth formula. {{storylink|Sky Forest (episode)|Sky Forest}}

Cody was overjoyed when a lab accident aged him into a grown up as it meant he'd be able to go on rescue missions, however he soon found himself at odds with Kade, and began to realize that being an adult wasn't all it was cracked up to be. He and Kade were eventually able to get the stolen equipment back from Evan and Myles to return him to normal. {{storylink|One for the Ages}} Cody was on the [[Griffin Rock ferry|ferry]] during the discovery of an iceberg, which he, Dani and Blades later found to be the frozen ship [[S.S. Isolde]], on board which was the [[Sub-Zero Expander]], a device at imminent risk of causing a flash-freezing for five miles around it. Though Cody was left at base while the others attempted to destroy the device, he had to drive out on the [[Turbo Cycle (RB)|Turbo Cycle]] to help when it eventually triggered. After they defeated level 1, the game began to bug out and the bosses were able to hurt him and Blades. Despite the odds, Cody and Blades, with the help of Heatwave later on, defeated the game and were transported out safe and sound. {{storylink|A Virtual Disaster}} When most of the team were mesmerized by cellphones, Cody enlisted the help of Dani and Blades, however they were soon entranced as well. Cody found himself fleeing the mind-controlled townsfolk, until he and Boulder were able to take out the island's celltower, breaking the spell everyone was under. {{storylink|Spellbound}}

The rescue team was caught up in Huxley Prescott's reality show until they discovered that Huxley was creating disasters himself to spice things up. {{storylink|Prescott's Bots}} When Kade had problems with nightmares about [[gremlin]]s, resulting in a near-encounter with a wind turbine, Cody suggested he seek help from Doc Greene. Unfortunately Kade's session in the [[Nightmare Imaging Device]] resulted in a horde of gremlins being unleashed on Griffin Rock. {{storylink|Blame the Gremlins}} While doing his astronomy homework with the Bots, Cody photographed what he believed was the [[Maine Ridge Monster]]. Determined to convince his family, he and the bots tracked the beast to an old cannery but when Cody's camera was smashed, all they got was a clump of monster hair, which turned out to be fake. It later turned out that the "Magic Meat" Mayer Luskey had been hawking was [[Fo-Foo]], an experimental substance with lycanthropic side-effects, and the team had to track down Luskey and Graham who were both affected. {{storylink|Feed the Beast}}

When Uncle [[Woodrow Burns|Woodrow]] visited Griffin Rock with the intention of investigating evidence of aliens underground, Cody was accidentally taken with him on a ride underground. The rest of the team came to their aid when they were menaced by giant spiders. {{storylink|What Lies Below}} Cody, Chief, Chase and Woodrow were separated from the rest of the team, resulting in Cody mainly having to play mediator between his father and uncle. Once they were reunited with the rest of the team, they managed to escape underground by blasting themselves out of the top of Mount Magma. {{storylink|What Rises Above}}

Following the launch of the ''[[Asgard]]'', Cody, Frankie and the Bots watched the space elevator through a telescope and saw it being struck by an asteroid. Cody subsequently organized the team's response to debris raining down on the town, and accidentally ended up on the ''[[Sigma]]'' when he was putting a first aid kit on board. Safe inside Heatwave, he had front-row seats to the rescue of Doc Greene and Graham. {{storylink|Space Bots}} After the team took down a [[mechanical bull]], Cody was accidentally transported with it to the [[Island of Misfit Tech]]. Cody nearly had an accident during a scooter race when a garbage truck strayed onto the track. The town's central computer was replaced by [[Vigil]], which soon decided that the best way to keep people safe was to keep them in their homes. Cody and the team had to break into Vigil's vault, and when Cody pointed out its defense measures were endangering humans, the computer suffered a meltdown. {{storylink|The Vigilant Town}} Going on the Lad Pioneer nature hike, Cody volunteered to test the [[Buddy Bracelet]]s, and as a result, when the keys to them were destroyed, he ended up buddied with Blades. While on a hike up Mount Griffin to earn his Lad Pioneer folklore badge, Cody and his friends had to dodge a falling car. Breakdown joined the other 'Con in setting a trap for the Autobots in a storage facility. Once Bumblebee and Bulkhead turned up, Breakdown ambushed them. He was able to hold his own against the two Autobots until Knock Out announced he was bugging out, and the distraction resulted in Breakdown being knocked into a wall by Bulkhead. Though the Autobot fought back vigorously, Breakdown overcame him and was about to deliver the killing blow when he was zapped by an energy beam from a nearby helicopter. Breakdown was defiant, but the MECH technicians disabled his pain receptors and began dismantling him, including removing his right eye. The pair emerged from the rail tunnel to face the main MECH force, and when Silas's helicopter again fired its energy weapon, the 'Con knocked Bulkhead out of the way. After Starscream arrived and chased MECH off, he demanded Breakdown destroy Bulkhead. Breakdown was initially reluctant, but Starscream talked him into it. Breakdown took to wearing an eye-patch as a reminder of his failure. When Soundwave detected a magnetic signature, Breakdown saw the chance to redeem himself and insisted on being the one to retrieve the [[polarity gauntlet]]. Once there, however, he found himself under attack by [[Airachnid (Prime)|Airachnid]], who also coveted the device and made a failed attempt to trap him underground. The two fought over it until Arcee and Bulkhead arrived and joined in the party. Breakdown was able to use the gauntlet to magnetically stick the two Autobots together, but while he was on his way back to the ''Nemesis'', Airachnid ambushed him and webbed him to a derelict gas station. He was freed when the Autobots turned up and the gauntlet was triggered, yanking him off the wall. At one point during the following battle, he got hold of the weapon and used it to hit Bulkhead with an oil derrick. After some more fighting, Airachnid tried to make a getaway with the gauntlet and Bulkhead threw her at Breakdown. Knock Out and Breakdown were sent with some Vehicons to secure a [[Cybertronian data cylinder]], which the Autobots were also after. Breakdown not only got to fight, but got to be on the winning side for a change. Unfortunately when they got back to the ''Nemesis'', they discovered that the cylinder's contents had already been discharged. After Megatron went to try and find Bulkhead, whose noggin held the data, Knock Out detected where Bulkhead was hiding out, and thus he and Breakdown went to the monster truck track. Bulkhead went and hid in the car park, so the two Decepticons started searching in their own ways—in Breakdown's case, smashing random vehicles. They eventually found Bulkhead, but the cylinder data was lost in the process. The pair teamed up again to transport energon around. Though Breakdown was keen to GroundBridge out of there when the Autobots turned up, Knock Out reminded him that they were under orders to lead the Autobots on a chase so the foe would deplete their energon reserves. After spending a short amount of time trying to unstick the webbing from his face, Breakdown pursued her, leaving Dreadwing webbed to a tree. Though he caught up with Airachnid, it proved to be a trap, and she swiftly dismantled him. A short time later, a MECH team discovered him in pieces. This had the side-effect of bringing Breakdown's life signals back online, though they appeared corrupted to the Decepticon sensors. Breakdown seemed most comfortable during their time in the train tunnels, even challenging Soundwave to a race. However, when Megatron told him in a paternalistic voice to "try not to get crushed by the trains", Breakdown was confused, wondering aloud if his leader had made a joke. After utilizing [[Dark Energon]] bombers to blast their way into the Vaults, the squad came up against Zeta Prime himself. He was utilizing a vast machine that rendered him unassailable, allowed him to control portions of the ceiling so they dropped to crush anyone in the room, and generated an arbitrary number of energon clones bearing his likeness that battled savagely in melee combat. Soundwave's interest in the clones caused Breakdown to deride him as a total nerdlinger, but he didn't have any words of mockery when Soundwave discerned the machine's weakness: a core that rapidly overheated and so had to open up to cool off. Even in defeat, however, Zeta Prime had put one over on the Decepticons, as they took from him not the Omega Key, but the device that activated it. And the Key was cranky about being woken up from its nap.

Though he had shot another soldier for daring to contradict him verbally, Megatron probably realized Breakdown's last-ditch maneuver to avoid crashing into [[Omega Supreme (WFC)|Omega Supreme]] against Megatron's orders had saved all their lives, and so did not summarily execute him. Nor was Breakdown shot for his constant whining during the team's cat-and-mouse chase with Omega Supreme through the upper spires of Iacon towards a platform studded with some anti-air guns, which would hopefully give them a chance to fight back against the robot of unusual size. They managed to crack open Omega's armor with the emplacements, causing him to crash, but the behemoth remained on his feet—literally, as he transformed to robot mode to continue the fight. Breakdown continually expressed amazement and frustration at the seeming unstoppability of Omega Supreme, but Megatron's confidence was proven justified, as they sabotaged the means by which the giant had been repairing himself, apparently bringing him down. Seemingly unable to believe it despite having participated in the fight, Breakdown could only note, "Uh... all hail Megatron!" Yet even then, Omega Supreme was not defeated, badly damaged though he was. At that point, however, he was unable to continue repairing himself and his armor was badly damaged, allowing concentrated fire to finally overwhelm him.

Kade took part in a dedication ceremony during which [[Charlie Burns|Chief Burns]] unveiled the town's new emergency rescue robots, though Kade was started when his fire engine transformed without prompting to take him to the [[Griffin Rock natural history museum|museum]] to attend to a fire. After Kade put the fire out, he was again surprised by his fire engine robot saving his father and brother [[Graham Burns|Graham]] from a falling dinosaur head, but was all too happy to take the credit. Unfortunately when Doc Greene's [[Nightmare Imaging Device]] conjured the gremlins into reality, they proved difficult to get rid of, draining the power from everything. When they threatened the [[Griffin Rock power plant|power plant]], Kade was forced to face them so he could shut the power down, and successfully conquered his nightmares. {{storylink|Blame the Gremlins}} When Cody photographed what he thought was the [[Maine Ridge Monster]], Kade suggested it was just [[Talbott|Mr Talbott]]. When Chase and the Chief went missing, Boulder and the rest of the team searched all night, and were eventually led to the lead mine. The Rescue Bots were forced to be extra attentive to their cover as robots when Frankie started filming them for a school project. It made Boulder's rescues during an earthquake harder. Back on Griffin Rock, the team attended another rescue, but when the other three Rescue Bots seized up, Bumblebee once again had to help Blades complete the rescue. As it turned out the others had been infected by a virus from the meteorite, Blades stayed at the fire station while the humans and Bumblebee went to deal with it, but ended up flying out himself to rescue Bumblebee from an undersea trench. Faced with an out-of-control bomb, the two Bots used it to destroy the meteorite, but were infected by the virus themselves. He and the other Rescue Bots were invited on a fishing trip with Chief Burns and Cody the next day, and Blades, who had been watching too many pirate movies, began affecting pirate talk. After the Bots encountered and fought a [[shark submarine]], the sub started a self destruct sequence, and Blades had to fly it out to sea before it exploded. {{storylink|Deep Trouble}}

Blades was happy at being grounded due to fog, but had to fly anyway when the dinosaur from the museum was spotted near the lab. Though it turned out the dinosaur had been reprogrammed, a short time later the island's technology went wild, and the Rescue Bots had to deal with the out-of-control devices and a hacked [[Trex]]. After they subdued the beast, Blades had to fly Doc Greene back to his lab to remove the virus from Trex. {{storylink|Return of the Dino Bot}} When [[Thaddeus Morocco|Doctor Morocco]] turned up with his [[MorBot]] and threatened to overshadow the Rescue Bots, the team was forced to compete with the doctor's invention to prove themselves worthy. He was pressed into service by Cody, who had Dani fly him over to spy on the lab, which worked until they were spotted by the MorBot which chased them back to the fire station. Though Blades and Dani turned up to rescue [[Hayley]], Kade insisted on doing it himself so he could impress the girl. The team turned up to a break-in at the [[Hall of Inspiration]], during which Blades, [[Heatwave (RB)|Heatwave]] and Boulder were shrunk to the size of ants by the [[Minimizer]] and ended up in the sewer. After braving huge rats and a torrent of water, they made it to the [[Griffin Rock dam]], where they rescued Kade and alerted the rest of the team to the fact that the dam was near bursting. Cody later used the Minimizer to return them to their normal sizes. {{storylink|Small Blessings}} While trying to save [[Wild (RB)|Captain Wild]]'s boat, Blades was pulled under the sea but managed to save the boat with the help of the rest of the team. After the daring rescue of Huxley Prescott by the four bots, Chief left them with strict orders not to go to [[Griffin Crest]]. After receiving an apparent SOS from Cody, Blades and the others went there anyway and ended up immobilized by an [[Electromagnetic pulse|EMP]] field, leaving them in need of a rescue. {{storylink|Rules and Regulations}} Blades had a rotor bend during a rescue at the airport, so when he and the other three Bots were washed out to sea with Cody and ended up on an inhabited island, he was unable to fly back to Griffin Rock for help. The Bots' attempts to build him shelter and gather food were less than successful, but they did manage to find traces of the ''[[Oaken Crow]]'', which led to them finding the ship and getting off the island. {{storylink|The Lost Bell}}

While on a mission to [[Wayward Island]], Blades was excited to meet Bumblebee, however his attempting to show off backfired when he got stuck to a tree and Bumblebee had to rescue him. Back on Griffin Rock, the team attended another rescue, but when the other three Rescue Bots seized up, Bumblebee once again had to help Blades complete the rescue. As it turned out the others had been infected by a virus from the meteorite, Blades stayed at the fire station while the humans and Bumblebee went to deal with it, but ended up flying out himself to rescue Bumblebee from an undersea trench. Faced with an out-of-control bomb, the two Bots used it to destroy the meteorite, but were infected by the virus themselves. When the Rescue Bots were called out to deal with a huge blob of space goo, Blades was horrified by it eating [[Mister Pettypaws]] and tried fruitlessly to hit it with a park sculpture. He and Dani tracked the [[Squilsh]] from the air, and later provided an air lift when the team cornered it at the [[Griffin Rock Community Pool]]. {{storylink|You've Been Squilshed}} Blades and Dani rescued Frankie from [[Tracer (RB)|tracers]] after most of the townspeople were teleported elsewhere by them, and had to fly through the wind farm to try to lose a swarm of the bugs. Back at the fire station, the Bots had their work cut out squishing bugs, though Blades managed to catch one, enabling Boulder to find a way to neutralize them. Blades helped search the island for Chief Burns and [[Chase (RB)|Chase]] after the pair went missing, though when the trail led to the old lead mine, he was almost too worried about blood-sucking bats to go in. He, [[Graham Burns|Graham]] and Dani followed Boulder's sonar and managed to find Chase. {{storylink|Little White Lies}} The Rescue Bots were forced to be extra attentive to their cover as robots when Frankie started filming them for a school project. They stopped a swarm of earthquakes by tracking down the cause in the caves under Griffin Rock. {{storylink|Shake Up}} Following Blades's discovery of fireworks, Cody got a repulsor badge, granting the boy superhero-like powers. When the badge overloaded, trapping Cody in an energy bubble, Blades declared it his mortal enemy, as he and the other Bots worked to rescue Cody. {{storylink|Rescue Boy}}

Blades, the other Rescue Bots, Cody and Frankie were sent back in time to [[1939]] in a time travel accident. There they fell into the hands of a team of scientists headed by Doctor Morocco who performed experiments on them. Morocco was getting to the point of dissecting the four Bots when Optimus and Bumblebee came to their rescue. On returning to the present, they found that Morocco had taken over the town with the aid of his MorBots. {{storylink|It's a Bot Time}} The four bots managed to elude the MorBots and soon established that leaving [[Dither]] in the past had resulted in the changed. Blades took to playing a dance video game with Frankie, once she and Doc Greene knew the Rescue Bots' secret. He and Dani tracked an iceberg, only to discover it was actually [[S.S. Isolde|a ship]] frozen by a piece of cargo it was carrying, the [[Sub-Zero Expander]]. After accidentally getting frozen by the machine, Blades returned to base, and took part in an attempt to get rid of the device by blowing it up, which was aborted when it turned out Doctor Morocco had claimed the vessel as salvage. The team had to deal with the fallout when the device exploded and froze a five-mile section of ocean. {{storylink|Tip of the Iceberg}} After a rescue mission where Blades became frightened of the snowy weather, Cody took Blades to the Hall of Inspiration where they played the Doc's new [[Griffin Rock Element Quest 1.0|virtual reality game]]. Inside the game, Cody taught Blades about video games, such as power-ups and boss fights, but the game bugged out when lightning struck the Hall. The bosses could hurt the two and Blades overcame his fear and gained the courage to protect Cody, much to Heatwave's surprise. When the rest of the team was mesmerized by cellphones, Blades escaped by virtue of being out on patrol at the time, though it did mean he and Dani had to put out a fire without Heatwave's help. They were subsequently mind-controlled as well, and forced to excavate [[Blossom Vale]] until the cell tower was taken out. {{storylink|Spellbound}} Huxley Prescott's reality show featuring the bots was approved by the mayor, and Blades was caught up in the idea of gaining fame. Blades took part in a rescue when Taylor's plane was stricken with an electrical fault. He and the rest of the team later had to face a horde of [[gremlin]]s conjured from Kade's nightmares. {{storylink|Blame the Gremlins}} When a monster was spotted during a star-gazing expedition with Cody, Blades and the other Rescue Bots helped the boy hunt for the beast, resulting in an encounter with it at an old cannery. It transpired that the "Magic Meat" that Mayor Luskey had been selling was [[Fo-Foo]], an experimental food with lycanthropic side effects, and the team had to track down Luskey and Graham who were both infected. {{storylink|Feed the Beast}}

A picnic Blades and Cody were helping Dani with was interrupted by the arrival of [[Woodrow Burns]]. The revelation that there was [[energon]] under the island resulted in Optimus Prime arriving, and the whole team had to go rescue Woodrow and Cody after the pair became trapped in a cavern deep underground, which ended up with Blades having to fight giant spiders. {{storylink|What Lies Below}} After Blades, Boulder and the three older siblings were separated from the others, Blades had to brave luminous fungus, pterodactyls, and giant fish as they searched for a way out. When a mishap occurred while transporting the creature to the [[Island of Misfit Tech]], Blades, Chase and Boulder ended up tussling with a prototype Scrapmaster. {{storylink|The Island of Misfit Tech}} The town's new central computer [[Vigil]] was unable to control the four Rescue Bots, so when it attempted to take control of Griffin Rock, the Bots were able to get the rest of the team into its vault to stop it. {{storylink|The Vigilant Town}}

Blades finally achieved his ambition to become a [[Lad Pioneer]] when he was appointed troop mascot. Going on a nature hike, Blade was linked with Cody via [[Buddy Bracelet]]s, the keys for which were accidentally destroyed. Consequently Cody had to come along with Blades when the Rescue Bot took part in a snake hunt around town. {{storylink|Buddy System}} After an earthquake and a rash of objects being pulled into the air, Blades became convinced that invisible [[griffin]]s were to blame. He and the other Bots accompanied Graham and Cody to Wayward Island, where it turned out that it was just a super-magnet causing the trouble. {{storylink|In Search of the Griffin's Nest}}

When Chase appeared to join with Evan and Myles during their crime spree, Blades and the rest of the rescue team found themselves going against him. He later rejoined the team and the four Rescue Bots disabled the [[Tech Wrecker]] Evan and Myles had created. {{storylink|Bots and Robbers}} Following the rescue of a dog, the Rescue Bots were joined in their work by [[Noble (RB)|Noble]], at least until the dogs real owner turned up to claim him. {{storylink|Rescue Dog}} The team had to deal with a storm without Heatwave. When a [[Power Planter]] was struck by lightning and ran wild, the team was forced to respond to a number of emergencies caused by it. They eventually succeeded in luring it into a trap using [[Boil Coil]]s and destroyed it. {{storylink|Movers and Shakers}} Blades was excited at the news that Bumblebee was coming and made plans to enjoy his friend's visit, however it turned out Bumblebee was there on a relic-finding mission. What's worse, Dani's pilot license was suspended, so unable to fly in Blades, she was partnered with Bumblebee. Though he grew jealous of the pair's growing bond, Blades was soon distracted by helping Optimus retrieve the relic from the ocean, and was later happy when Bumblebee saved Dani from quicksand. {{storylink|Odd Bot Out}}

The rescue team was roped into completing a rail tunnel to the mainland, mainly because Mayor Luskey regarded the Bots as heavy machinery. Following a game of [[Rescue Ball]] and an impromptu rescue mission, Blades's attempt to watch ''[[Cupcake Hoarders]]'' was thwarted when he was lured into a trap and kidnapped by Dr Morocco. Morocco used a memory-erasing ray on him and convinced him that the doctor had been assigned as the Rescue Bots' liaison on Earth by Optimus Prime. Once the other Rescue Bots were similarly brainwashed, Morocco put Blades in charge and sent the team to a cavern under Griffin Rock to mine gold. Unfortunately Blades accidentally set off a methane explosion and when the Bots climbed out of the crater, they were confronted by the dastardly Burns family. {{storylink|Double Villainy}}

The suspicious Bots were taken back to the fire house, where the evidence soon convinced them that the Burns family was on their side and they'd been misled by Morocco. Unfortunately the methane explosion cause the island to begin to sink, and given the choice between helping out or regaining their memories, the Bots chose the former option. Blades was relieved to discover he wasn't team leader though.
