:Ironhide was part of the original assortment of [[Autobot]] cars released in 1984, transforming into a red Nissan Sunny-Vanette Coach SGL and sharing his mold with the contemporaneously released [[Ratchet (G1)/toys|Ratchet]]. Ironhide splits when he transforms, with most of the rear section of his van mode transforming into a [[Onebox component|battle platform]], and the remainder becoming his rather misshapen, headless robot form. The robot can mount onto the battle platform, which is armed with a raising missile launcher and front-mounted "Static Laser Gun". Unusually for toys of this period, the Static Laser Gun can actually store when Ironhide is in vehicle mode, plugging into his undercarriage (although the missiles for his launcher and the peg required to attach the laser don't go anywhere).

:As with all his fellow Autobot Cars from that year, Ironhide's mold derived from [[TakaraTomy|Takara]]'s ''[[Diaclone]]'' line, a series which was ''not'' about sentient robots, but rather human-controlled machines. The Ironhide and Ratchet molds are the ones that most clearly show evidence of this: in place of a head, these toy robots had chairs behind windscreens where the human rider would control the robot. The figures did include [[sticker]]s to go over these seats that depicted a sort of robot face, but when Ironhide and Ratchet's [[character model]]s were created for ''Transformers'' media, all traces of the human-controlled design were removed to give the robots proper faces and heads, ultimately creating the two designs which diverged the most from the toys on which they were ostensibly based.

:The stripe on the side of his vehicle mode (a sticker on the toy) is actually based on a special edition of the Nissan Cherry Vanette. He features a new chest/windshield, bumper, lower arms, and leg panels, as well as a roof piece that converts into a shield in robot mode. While similar to the Siege version's head, the toy's head is also new, remolded to have less detailing and to be more cartoon accurate. In lieu of the Doomblast Forge Launcher (which this figure can wield if you wish), the shield can also become a giant four-barreled cannon. For a little extra firepower, Ironhide also comes with a smaller pistol. Conveniently, this gun can be stored on the underside of the shield, tucking away neatly in van mode.

:Although the figure features molded windows in van mode, said windows lack any paint, tampographs, or decals for color, which causes inconsistencies when combined with the translucent plastic from the roof to complete them. Similar to the ''Siege'' iteration, the figure's robot mode feet stick out conspicuously from the van mode's backside. Lastly, Ironhide's red color is visibly inconsistent throughout the combined figure, with some parts appearing more pink than red against the darker red pieces.

Cliffjumper also has molded high-performance brake discs, a surprising detail for a mainline ''Transformers'' figure. In keeping with his depiction as being rather small in most Transformers media, this figure is much smaller than a typical Deluxe Class and is closer to being a particularly large Legends class-sized figure. Like all Deluxe Class figures of the ''War for Cybertron'' subline, Cliffjumper includes numerous 3 mm posts and [[5 mm post|5 mm ports]] for attaching other accessories as part of the [[C.O.M.B.A.T. Undocumented in the instructions, Cliffjumper's ball-jointed neck is actually mounted on a hinge, and when popped out of its housing offers a larger range of articulation.

:The rest of his price-point is made up for with his arsenal, that being [[Cliffjumper's bazooka|a large cannon]] similar to one he briefly used in the G1 cartoon episode "[[More than Meets the Eye, Part 1]]", which can split into two smaller blasters and a pair of skis which can attach under his wheels to form the [[hydrofoil]]s seen in "[[Dinobot Island, Part 2]]". The backend of the cannon can fold out to fit in his car mode's underside to help balance when skis are deployed, while also being usable as a melee weapon. It can also mount on either his thigh or on the side or top of his shoulder meaning you can put the entire cannon in these spots. Similarly, his [[partformer|detaching]] car trunk can either be put into the robot mode's back or be used as a shield with help of a flip-out peg. This peg and the backend of the cannon use a unique post and port to connect to each other.

:The promotional renders and early product samples showcased at conventions showed his weapons and skis being silver, while the final product had them cast in black plastic (with the guns being painted silver except for their handles). The majority of Cliffjumper is molded in black plastic with a generous coating of red paint. His forearms and most of his head appear to be the only pieces molded in red plastic.

Dialnforninja: possible new merchandise section addition

I re-read DW v3 #7-8 recently, and I still have the feeling that I had when I first read them, that something isn't quite right about Bumper's escape and saving the day. Bombshell's quite clearly doing something to his head while talking to Shockwave, the heroism seems quite out of character, and the panel with the two EDC soldiers reflected in Bumper's eyes seems really rather creepy - and also leads nowhere, which suggests it might be a set-up for future events that were never shown. The really jarring thing, though, is the car registration plate in the last panel, which reads 'TR8R1' - 'Traitor One'. Is the denouement a scam, and is Bumper actually under Bombshell's control? I wouldn't make so much of the other oddities were it not for the number plate, which surely can only be interpreted as a hint that there's a traitor in the Autobot ranks.

Hey, I notice that this page mentions that no Bumblejumper in Bumblebee packaging as ever surfaced, that only confirmed MOC Bumblejumpers were all on Cliffjumper cards. I just want to say that I distinctly remember a MOC Bumblejumper on Bumblebee card being auctioned off on ebay around 1999 or thereabouts.
