Note to self: Hmn. Transwarp, subspace, underspace, unspace, bleed - all the bit of "unreality" between dimensions. There's a merge project there. Probably best to leave infraspace and limbo out of it, inner space too vague to count, I think.
The note at the bottom says exactly where the bit about Daniel being frozen comes from. The timeline. KP presented a massive timeline of the G1 Japanese cartoon continuity that was probably the geekiest thing ever. --ItsWalky 10:15, 30 January 2010 (EST)
:::I believe it must be somewhere, because it was Swift who added it, wasn't it? And Swift is like Layla Miller, with all the knowing of stuff. - Chris McFeely 12:13, 30 January 2010 (EST)
::::Perhaps it was mentioned in passing in one of the radio dramas? If we go that route at least no one could argue that it wasn't since, shit, nobody's listened to those things. --DrSpengler 12:22, 30 January 2010 (EST)
::::::IIRC, there are actually two different published timelines. One was on the side of Autrooper's packaging, and I think the other was in the KissPlay/Teletraan Go! Wait, why are you counting that as a story page? Wouldn't it just fall under toy bio/toy catalog continuity, like the time BW Megatron got smacked around by BWII Galvatron? (For that manner, since I assume it was internally produced by Takara, I don't know if we can safely say the art is by Ban Magami...) --Monzo 16:48, 2 February 2010 (EST)
:Oh, well, I didn't put it on that page, it was there already. Given that it can't really work continuity-wise with the other story pages, it probably should be moved somewhere else, but I'm not sure where. - Chris McFeely 16:51, 2 February 2010 (EST)
Thanks for clarifying that only the first 3 waves of FABs were released in Japan and removing the fiction from the proper characters. But I have to ask, if Frenzy was released in Japan as an FAB, why'd you remove the fiction from his article? Also, should I go ahead and add the FAB/BW crossover fiction to *all* the characters who were released in the Telemocha line? Even...the BWII and Neo characters? Or just the ones on Energoa? --DrSpengler 20:23, 25 February 2010 (EST)
:Oh, yeah, Frenzy wasn't either. ::Ahhh. Gotcha. Thanks. As for the Telemocha dudes, I guess I'll add the info regularly to the Energoa guys, but for the likes of Gimlet, Motorarm and Cohrada, I'll just add something like "They may or may not have been transported back in time to Energoa to fight in the Beast Wars there against invading Autobots and Decepticons from another dimension" or something to that effect. With all the damn Blasty Zone time travel bullshit that goes on in the Japanese timeline, it probably isn't too out of the question that they went there for a second and came back somehow. --DrSpengler 21:08, 25 February 2010 (EST)

:::::::That's how they are on the Pioneer LDC release. I recently came across this site in attempts to collect the recap episodes and in hunting down the recap episodes through the 'net I came across someone that sold me copies of the Pioneer LDC discs. What we both found is that the Masterforce recap episodes 43 & 44 are on the Masterforce disc 8; the Masterforce recap episode 47 and the one I'm telling you about is on the Victory Disc 6; the Headmasters recap episodes 36-38 are on Victory disc 7; and the Victory recap episodes 40-44 are on the Victory disc 8. -Crisdecal
::::::::Well, I have to say, that's the first I've heard of anything like that. You're sure these are the genuine articles? Because that seems like an odd sort of mix up. Not to say that I could imagine a new clip show could have been created for a bootleg, or anything, but I'm at a bit of a loss, because... well, there's never been any indicated of another Masterforce clip show, and for it to have basically the same title as another one... I think we need someone more knowledgeable than I, and probably one who speaks Japanese, to clarify this... - Chris McFeely 06:57, 9 July 2010 (EDT)

This is an original copy from the Pioneer LDC disc. I didn't believe it either until I was watching the recaps earlier tonight. I thought that the recap episode in question was also Masterforce episode 43. But you can tell there is a slight difference in the title and even the whole episode is different from all the other recaps. There is a narrator on this one and through out the whole episode each main characters title appears in large bold Japanese characters every time a new character is introduced. -Crisdecal

Just got these reponses from Forster, thought you might need them for the annotations:

"I was just looking at the Almanac Annotations, and saw a section labeled "Unsolved Anagrams" with a listing for a "Baron Ye Gult". I was wondering if it was perhaps "Tonya Bulger"
Updated Answer: I originally answered the question incorrectly. I thought you asked about 'Friar Ilia Tote'. So if anyone read that and was confused, its because I was asleep at the wheel. 'Baron Ye Gult' is my friend Albert Young. Albert is a big sports fan and goes dancing in clubs, but I am his friend anyway.

Another anagram: Is "Dankly Woolens" supposed to be "Kendall Swoony"? Sorry if these have been solved and just not posted to the annotations.
Kelly Woods, my kid sister. I didn't expect people to get all the anagrams. They were mostly just me having fun."
::Writing up the events of a book or film or episode in present-tense is pretty much the literary standard. The foofy answer is that as isolated entities, they are "assumed to exist in an eternal present". - Chris McFeely 12:53, 9 July 2011 (EDT)
GOT HACKED!!!! :'(
Yo, Chris. I noticed that someone changed my password after my last edit on the Ed Flanders page (Which had only 10 characters at that time, 8 cartoon characters, 1 commercial character and possibly the 1984-1985 commercials "Other Guy"). But when I saw my message wall, I freaked out. This was the work of one of those cyberpunks called "Hackers" (which is why I made my new user).

While this cocky little s**t was editing fake credits (dunno how he got Milt Jamin right), I was visiting LA to meet Stephen Keener and Ian Flanders (and yeah, that user wasn't Ian). I watched various commercials and Season 3 and 4 episodes with them and I got some new info on the subject. Keener played all the commercial characters I listed in his page, but he actually did play a character in the series and that was Blowpipe, he immediately recognized his lines (although I believed he only spoke once, he jumped out of his chair and said "THAT'S ME!!!" when the Dalek line EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! came up). Flanders recognized the characters that were listed and two more (The Quintesson in The Return of Optimus Prime and the Little Junkion carrying the Journal along with various walla characters in The Big Broadcast of 2006).

Although Prima has a Flanders feel to it when I think about it, I definetly have to agree that's Neil Ross (because I can hear a little bit of Springer too). And Prima is Michael Bell.

But even then Corey Burton is listed as Primon while Rege Cordic is listed as Prima in the Dossier at The Cybertron Chronicle.

Sorry for this little inconvinience, and please, keep my old user page blocked. I don't want this hacker harassing me anymore. He has done a lot of harm already while I was gone visiting two great people.

I hope you understand.

P.S.: Keener now works at the immobiliary department, but as with a lot of people, he told me to never give his address or phone number to anyone (Man, I didn't think one fan would scare a guy like that!). But he's still a very cool and friendly guy.
:Tankor is a Vehicon from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Tankor SMAAAAAASHHH! Tankor PULLLVERIZZZZEEE! Tankor SLAG BEAST BOTS! Tankor is the brute force part of Megatron's first trio of Vehicon generals and commander of the powerful Tank Drones. He's slow, simple-minded and immensely powerful. Lovably dim, his limited intelligence can be a drawback; he can easily be confused, misled, or even turned against Megatron, though temporarily. However, this is balanced out by his natural state of blind frustration and destructive rage, which makes getting him to listen to any cajoling a less than simple task.

Tankor is in actuality a programmed shell personality given life by the spark of the Maximal Rhinox.

An alternate-universe incarnation of Tankor is also a Minion of Unicron in a vast, multiverse-spanning conflict. He may or may not be a mindwiped Maximal.
His command code is "pulverize".

When the Maximals returning to Cybertron from the Beast Wars were infected with Megatron's virus, Rhinox was not as lucky as most of his comrades. While the Transmetals were able to stay mobile for a time, Rhinox was immediately paralyzed and overtaken by Tank Drones. His spark was forcibly removed and stored in a canister in Megatron's citadel. Revelations Part III: Apocalypse

When Megatron found that he needed underlings to properly control his Vehicon armies in battle, he used Rhinox's spark to power his tank general Tankor. He reasoned that if the Maximals discovered their new enemy had once been their close friend, they would be less willing to fight him. Unfortunately for Megatron, Tankor was only marginally more intelligent than the mindless drones he was created to lead. Meanwhile, Rhinox's spark/consciousness remained intact inside Tankor, albeit unable to act. Fires of the Past

After Megatron claimed there were fabulous prizes to be won! for whichever general got the Maximals, Tankor went after them and, after a vicious battle, actually captured them. He then took them to Megatron and demanded his reward... which would be to have his spark removed. Primal managed to use his affinity with the Allspark to contact Tankor's spark and convince him to do the right thing: the Vehicon helped them escape and went on the run with then, but Megatron was able to remote delete the tank's memories of this so he'd be their enemy again. Primal felt something familiar about that spark, though. Mercenary Pursuits

The Maximals tried to ambush Tankor to see whether drones would stop functioning without their general; the plan would go tits up, however. The Weak Component

True to Megatron's expectations, the Maximals did attempt to reach Tankor's spark, and they discovered his true nature. They woke his spark, but the Rhinox they got was not the Rhinox they expected. Tainted and embittered by his time inside Tankor, Rhinox rejected the Maximals and embraced Megatron's plan for a "peaceful", technologically-pure Cybertron, only with himself at its head instead of Megatron. Revelations Part III: Apocalypse

Tankor-Rhinox immediately began plotting against both Megatron and the Maximals. He caught and reprogrammed one of Megatron's Diagnostic Drones, forcing it to work for him. Survivor He found the Oracle and, using the Diagnostic Drone, retrieved the Key to Vector Sigma from within. He then faked his own death, seeking to remove himself from both factions' suspicions. The Key. Manipulating events from behind the scenes, Tankor tricked Rattrap into activating an organic rapid-growth catalyst that would make the organics appear much more powerful and out of control, thus inspiring Megatron to take more radical measures to contain them. The Catalyst His escalating arms race gambit worked in manipulating Megatron into firing the key on a planetary scale—which would have killed all the organics, including the Maximals and Megatron, leaving Tankor to rule a pure mechanical world. Tankor's manipulations failed when he tried to attack Megatron, and a provision against doing so, hard-wired into his programming, shut him down. Due to Tankor's manipulations, however, Primal opened the Plasma Energy Chamber and Megatron fired the Key. The ensuing clash of energies destroyed Tankor's body, and his spark joined the Allspark. End of the Line

Primal met Rhinox's spark one last time within the Allspark, where Rhinox expressed regret over his recent actions. Fallout (episode)
One of these battles—the most violent of that year—was interrupted by a mysterious ship that sucked those Decepticons up on beams of light and sped away. In a parallel universe, the Predacon Megatron "decimated" Cybertron's population by capturing their sparks. (It is unknown whether this literally means he only got one-tenth of the Cybertronians.) Tankor served under him, a veneer of dumb, brutish loyalty secretly concealing his actual dumb, brutish loyalty to Obsidian. It was at the latter's bidding that Tankor terminated Megatron, allowing Obsidian to supplant the Predacon's rule with an iron-fisted tyranny of his own. Tankor became the enforcer of this new regime, knowing no purpose but the destruction of all that stood before his master. The pair put down uprisings and held the planet in fear... until Unicron decided that such a mindset would serve his own purposes, and he pulled them out of their universe entirely.
Unicron, his ruined form trapped between dimensions, sought to revitalize himself by pitting abducted Transformers against each other within his own body, absorbing their energon radiation and, eventually, sparks. But Tankor was spared this fate, instead overseeing the deathmatch arena along with Obsidian, Razorclaw, Reptilion, and Striker. Silverbolt, one of the intended victims, recognized Tankor. Obsidian confirmed the familiarity, but noted that in his and Tankor's own timeline, Silverbolt had "died screaming". Abduction

For all his accomplishments, Tankor still did a pretty crappy job of keeping Optimus Primal from freeing Silverbolt and dozens of other captives. Escape (Universe) Notably, by this time Tankor's allegiance was "Decepticon" though it's unclear if this had always been the case, or for how long. Aside from the original coloration, this mold was also cast in the colors of the other three molds used by Red Rooster: Jetstorm, Megatron and Rattrap. The retooling involved removing (and plugging up) Tankor's light piping, meaning that his neck is no longer translucent plastic.
:Although the Beast Wars Returns line's aim was show-accuracy, this toy's coloration is more accurate to the Tank Drones rather than Tankor (which is ironic, given that the American Tank Drone is colored like Tankor). It even has the Tank Drones' green headlights rather than Tankor's standard yellow.
:Rather than using the Beast Machines Maximal and Vehicon symbols, the embossed faction logos on the top of the Cheetor/Tankor packaging are the pre-existing Beast Wars Maximal and Predacon symbols found on Beast Wars-themed Universe Robot Heroes packs.

::*More information on Robot Heroes Tankor at TFU.info

Notes
* Unlike the other Vehicon Generals, Tankor is the only one that doesn't have any assistance. Even though he's the leader of the Tank Drones, he barely uses them. The first time he's seen ordering them is in episode 8, and in the next episode, Rhinox is awakened inside Tankor, making Tankor's leadership the most short-lived out of all the Vehicon Generals.

* According to Beast Machines DVD commentary by Story Editor Bob Skir, Tankor is influenced by the Hulk.

* Rhinox is the only one of the original Vehicon generals who doesn't enjoy the persona and escapades of his alias.

* Skir's original intention was that Rhinox had "seen all sides of the argument, and chose to go more in Megatron's direction" in Beast Machines, and that after a quiet chat, he and Optimus would part company. As Richard Newman played that scene with growling and shouting, Rhinox instead sounded not quite in his right mind after his experiences.

* For the Japanese dub, any ambiguity or mystery surrounding Tankor's previous life was eliminated, as he spoke with Rhinox's vocal tick of ending sentences in "-dana". This was done to absolute excess, as entire lines of dialogue would be replaced with Tankor screaming "DANADANADANADANADANADANAAAAA!"

Foreign names
*Japanese: Tankor (タンカー Tankā)
Several Autobots and Decepticons battle over a planet whose civilization revolves around music and whose inhabitants can use sound as a powerful weapon.

Synopsis
The Decepticons are building engines into the side of a comet in order to alter its course and crash it on top of Metroplex. As they fire up the engines, a group of Autobots close in, led there by Perceptor. The Autobots attack, much to Galvatron's dismay. The Constructicons form Devastator, who is promptly flattened when Broadside drops on him in ship mode. In the ensuing battle, the engines are destroyed, and the comet is sent hurtling towards a small planet, which Perceptor reports is inhabited.

The Autobots attempt unsuccessfully to stop the comet before Galvatron again orders his men to engage their foe. While Galvatron and Ultra Magnus are grappling, waves of sound energy destroy the comet and cause both groups of Transformers to plummet to the planet's surface. In a nearby city, three aliens are having a disagreement. One of them, Allegra, storms out, saying that she's going to her retreat.

The Transformers recover from their crash, wondering what hit them. Soundwave describes it as the most perfect harmony ever, but Galvatron is more interested in its destructive power. Broadside breaks up the discussion by punching Galvatron, and the fight resumes. As the Constructicons form Devastator again, Perceptor blows the giant apart with one shot from his cannon. Galvatron and Soundwave depart in search of the source of the harmony they heard earlier, but Ultra Magnus spots them leaving and takes Broadside and Blaster in pursuit. Perceptor reflects that unless the trio are swift, there might not be much of them left.

Broadside swiftly passes the two Decepticons and overflies the city, which Blaster realises is laid out like a musical harmony. Magnus and Blaster meet with Basso Profundo, leader of the planet Eurythma, but Basso refuses to help them, believing that the harmony is all his people need to protect themselves. He drops a hint that Allegra might be able to help them, a fact overheard by Galvatron and Soundwave, who are spying outside. As the three Autobots go in search of Allegra, the Decepticons drop a bridge on them. To make sure, Galvatron blasts the wreckage, and the pair fly off to find Allegra.

Basso watches the two Decepticons leave, and fellow Eurythman Zebop Skandana uses a harmony to help the Autobots out of the rubble. Blaster realises that Zebop was creating part of the harmony which originally blew the Autobots out of space, and Zebop says he's sympathetic to their cause and will help them find Allegra.

The two Decepticons meet Allegra, offering to help her overthrow Basso in return for the secret of the harmony. She obliges and Soundwave records it, but to Galvatron's rage, it turns out that she is only one part of the harmony; Basso and Zebop make up the other two thirds. Still, when the Autobots arrive with Zebop, Soundwave is testing the part of the harmony he has by destroying a rock. The Autobots set up an ambush, but Zebop is so distressed by the fact that Allegra is working with the Decepticons that he gives away their position. Galvatron starts firing, and Zebop takes refuge in Ultra Magnus's cab. Soundwave begins battering the Autobots with the harmony. When Zebop counters with his part of the harmony, Soundwave promptly records it and uses the resulting two-thirds of the harmony to devastating effect.

With the Autobots apparently gone, Galvatron terminates the alliance with Allegra. She attempts to attack them with her part of the harmony, but Soundwave retaliates, knocking her out. The Autobots climb out of their hole in time to prevent Galvatron from terminating the Eurythman, but during the resulting fight, Blaster and Soundwave struggle and accidentally fall on Zebop. Galvatron grabs his minion and departs, leaving Allegra cradling Zebop in her arms. Though the Autobots believe he's had it, Allegra uses a harmony to revive him. The Autobots leave for the city.

Back at the landing site, the rest of the Autobots and Decepticons are still fighting. Hot Spot voices his hope that Magnus, Blaster and Broadside hurry. The Eurythmans have spotted the battle, and Basso uses an amplifier to direct a destructive harmony at it. Defensor is forced to disassemble, but the two factions fight on. Basso is depressed, and his aide points out he needs Allegra and Zebop to complete the harmony. Arriving, Soundwave begins playing two-thirds of the harmony, shaking the city and provoking Basso into using the third part again, which Soundwave promptly records. He is subsequently able to use the complete harmonic weapon to attack the city. Pleased, Galvatron announces their next targets are Metroplex and then Cybertron.

Ultra Magnus's party arrives back at the city to find it devastated and their fellow Autobots badly damaged. The Eurythmans are able to repair Perceptor and the Protectobots with a harmony, and the Autobots set off for Earth.

Galvatron and Soundwave attack Metroplex with the harmony, but the Autobots soon arrive with the three Eurythmans, who nullify Soundwave's weapon with anti-sound. Blaster grabs Soundwave and uses his buttons to erase the harmony from Soundwave's tapes. Despite Galvatron raging that he hasn't ordered a retreat, the Decepticons flee anyway. The Autobots return the Eurythmans to their world, where Ultra Magnus tells them they need to learn to live in harmony.
"What was that?!"<br>
"That was heaven. The purest, most vibrant, most perfect harmony I've ever heard."
:—Galvatron and Soundwave wonder what hit them, to the latter's monotoned enjoyment.

"You! Because of you, I got blasted out of space. DO YOU REALIZE WHAT THAT DID TO MY PAINT JOB?!"
:—Broadside, right before he sucker-punches Galvatron

"Broadside! Blaster! Galvatron and Soundwave went to find the weapon that knocked us out of space!"<br>
"Weapon? That was no weapon. That was harmonic bliss! A musical kiss!"<br>
"Whatever."
:—Ultra Magnus, who doesn't have any soul, and Blaster, who does.

"Blaster, you picking up anything?"<br>
"Yeah, yeah! Beauty like you wouldn't believe, Broadside. Sweet soul music. It's their art, their commerce, their philosophy, their whole—uh-oh, bummer. Galvatron and Soundwave are here."
:—Broadside and Blaster get their vibes harshed.

"I don't wanna see your ugly face, just the button that says 'ERASE'!"<br>
Notes
Animation or technical glitches
"Carnage in C-Minor" is infamous among the fandom for the sheer number of, and particularly glaring nature of, animation errors in this episode. Among the more prominent are the following:

* The Transformation sound effects are frequently cut off.
* Soundwave's head crest is supposed to be the same blue as his body, but its lines and/or triangle randomly turn grey throughout the episode. His back piece is also grey when it should be blue.
* Speaking of Soundwave, his face plate doesn't move when he speaks for most of this episode.
* Throughout the entire episode, Broadside is drawn with a previously discarded character model.
* Devastator is the exact same size as Soundwave during the start of the first battle.
* Devastator also appears before he forms later in the battle.
* While the Autobots are shooting at the meteor, they are so badly drawn that they appear to have only one leg each, left arms starting from the elbows, and enormous heads...and Superion is tiny.
*When Bonecrusher orders the formation of Devastator, he's wearing an Autobot insignia. See also the continuity error below.
* When the Constructicons form Devastator for the second time, the first shot shows four Constructicons forming the legs and the torso. The second shot shows three robots forming the arms and upper torso. This means that seven Constructicons formed Devastator.
* After watching Galvatron and Soundwave leave, Ultra Magnus dispatches Hook and Scrapper—by picking them up in his hands and bashing them together. Magnus is supposed to be big, but not that big. (It's possible that the animators used the toys for reference, unaware that the cartoon scale traditionally doesn't match the toys' scale in this case.)
* Blaster, Ultra Magnus and Zebop are shown hanging onto Broadside while he flies around. Sometimes, the shots make them appear tiny or not to be hanging onto Broadside at all. (One wonders why Zebop doesn't just ride in Broadside's cockpit, as he does for the trip to Earth.)
* As Blaster and Ultra Magnus talk to Basso, Blaster is taller than Magnus in closeup shots but (correctly) shorter than him in the long shots.
* As Galvatron shoots the bridge, his cannon has the usual Decepticon laser sound effect rather than its own sound effect.
* Broadside's eyes are yellow when he gets up from under the rubble on the bridge.
* When Galvatron and Soundwave first talk to Allegra, Soundwave has eyes rather than a visor for most of the shots (something that actually happens in much of the episode). One shot also has his face colored blue instead of grey (again, this happens several times later on). And Soundwave looks very small next to Galvatron (Galvatron even picks him up!), even though most of the other shots show them to be almost the same height.
* Soundwave has a purple Autobot insignia...again. So does Broadside...
* Blaster is drawn delivering Broadside's line about "scorch-marks on top of everything else".
* During part of the battle at Allegra's retreat, Hot Spot is with the Autobots instead of Broadside.
* After Soundwave blasts the Autobots into the ground, he transforms and disappears before leaving the frame.
* While Soundwave and Blaster are fighting, Soundwave's grunts are unprocessed, making him sound like Dr. Claw.
* When Blaster explains that the Eurythmans use the harmony even for healing, Ultra Magnus is the one mouthing the words.
* Magnus also has a visor instead of eyes during that shot.
* When the Protectobots are combined as Defensor, Hot Spot (the main body) is fighting alongside his combined self!
* When Galvatron orders Soundwave to play the harmonics on Earth, Soundwave's tape deck door is the same color as his body (it should be light blue).
* When Soundwave plays the harmonics to disrupt Metroplex, the waves are shown emanating from Galvatron's head!
* One shot shows Metroplex transformed, even though Soundwave is still playing the harmonic sounds.
* When Superion tackles Galvatron, they're almost the same size.
* Soundwave doesn't have an erase button, it's actually two buttons that have to be pressed (and how would Blaster know which ones to press?).
* In one scene, a cel-layering error causes Blaster to appear very tiny compared to Soundwave.
* As the Decepticons retreat, Blaster is shown flying away (again!) behind two Constructicons (it was probably supposed to be Soundwave).
* And there's even more. Seriously, how much time do you have?

<center><gallery>
Image:Carnage C-minor Magnus Broadside.JPG|"Hail Caesar!"<br />"Hail Thaethar."

Continuity errors
* In one infamous scene, Brawn and Huffer (who should also be dead) show up alive and well. And it seems Bonecrusher has switched sides, as he's helping them shoot at the giant Decepticon rocket engine he just helped build! (Huffer has the wrong paint job, too.)
* To add insult to injury, Devastator is shooting at the Autobots before the Constructicons form Devastator.
* Soundwave travels with Galvatron to find the source of the harmony (while holding his hand!). However, when the scene returns to the battle outside the city, Soundwave is with the other Decepticons at the same time.
* Several Autobots fly during this episode, even ones who aren't really supposed to (Ultra Magnus, for instance).
* Nobody noticed the Decepticons fly to Earth? What happened to the Earth Defense Command satellites?
* When the Decepticons reach Earth, they pass Autobot City (in the usual lush valley) to reach Metroplex, who seems to be hanging out in a barren desert for no reason.
* Apparently, a single blast from Perceptor's lightning cannon can cause Devastator to disassemble! And Grimlock believes that intellectuals are weak.
* In hindsight, it wasn't the best idea for Soundwave to have his erase button open so it could be pushed by an enemy. Or to have an erase button in the first place. For their sake, we hope Rumble and the other cassettes had their copy-protection tabs removed.
* Anyone bothered that this "sonic weapon" was used to destroy a comet IN SPACE?

Real-world references
* The Eurythman characters' names are all music-related puns. Allegra is named after either the Italian operetta and opera composer Salvatore Allegra or Italian tempo marking "allegro", while Basso Profundo is derived from the singing style basso profondo. While these are all related to classical music, Zebop Skandana is named after popular music guitarist Carlos Santana and his 1981 album Zebop!... And the difference shows.
* Eurythma was possibly named after the popular '80s band The Eurythmics.

Trivia
* "Carnage in C-Minor" is widely regarded by fans as the worst episode of all Transformers series, but this is seemingly due to the sheer volume of animation errors (and poor animation overall), as well as the glaringly obvious nature of many of the individual errors. However, the actual plot is certainly not the weakest to grace the cartoon series, and its "continuity errors" have little to nothing to do with the script itself...certainly not to the level of, say, "B.O.T.".
* That said, there is plenty of inanity to be found in the story too. For instance: Despite the aliens' dialog being in perfectly understandable English (or Galactic Standard or whatever), because they say everything in a sing-song rhythm, apparently none of the Transformers except Blaster and Soundwave can understand them, and the two tape decks spend a large (and annoying) amount of time translating Eurythman to "non-sing-song" for everyone else.
* While not strictly an animation error per se, the number of Autobots appearing in this episode seems a little inconsistent, with several characters appearing, disappearing or seemingly replacing others with no clear indication of how many there are fighting in what place at any given time. Notably, at one point Hot Spot states the Autobots are "outnumbered two to one", but even excluding oddities like Brawn and Huffer, the Autobots actually seen in this episode outnumber the Decepticons.
* Galvatron and Soundwave are briefly seen holding hands whilst flying.
* This was one of several episodes subjected to the MSTF treatment at 1999.

Nine million years ago, during the Golden Age of Cybertron, Soundwave was one of Megatron's first Decepticons and was seen flying through the planet's skies alongside his leader and Shockwave by Orion Pax. War Dawn When the Great War with the Autobots erupted not long after, Soundwave served as Megatron's intelligence officer and most loyal subordinate, and as keeper of the Decepticon Mini-Cassettes, diminutive robots designed for espionage. While Soundwave was a nigh-constant battlefield presence, he would himself often play no major role in combat, more regularly being present merely to deploy his cassette minions, and, off the field of battle, to replay for his fellow Decepticons the information they would gather for him.

After five million years of war, Cybertron found itself in the throes of an energy crisis, and Soundwave was charged with spying on the Autobots to learn how they were dealing with it. Using his unconventional alternate mode as a space-age "lamp-post" to position himself on the street outside Iacon, Soundwave was able to deploy Laserbeak to snoop even closer. Laserbeak discovered that the Autobots were preparing to depart Cybertron to search for new sources of energy on other planets, and Soundwave quickly took this news back to Megatron, prompting the Decepticons to pursue the Autobots' spacecraft when it left the planet. After navigating a treacherous meteor shower, the Decepticons intercepted and boarded the Autobots' ship, and battle erupted between the two factions, during which Soundwave displayed his prowess by holding his own against Jazz, Prowl, Sideswipe, Ironhide and Ratchet. However, the fighting was soon cut short when the Autobot spacecraft was caught in the gravity of the nearby prehistoric planet Earth and crash-landed. The ship impacted with the side of a volcano in a collision so violent that all the Transformers onboard, Soundwave included, were knocked off line.

Four million years later, in the Earth year 1984, a volcanic eruption jarred the ship's computer, Teletraan I back on-line, and it reactivated and repaired the Transformers indiscriminately, reformatting Soundwave with the Earthly alternate mode of a portable cassette player. Before the Autobots were restored, the Decepticons pulled out of the ruined hulk of the ship, and Megatron immediately charged Soundwave with drawing up plans for a new space cruiser to return the Decepticons to Cybertron. Soundwave then deployed Rumble to help Starscream ransack a power plant to gather materials for construction, sent Ravage to scare off humans who came to investigate, and dispatched Laserbeak to search the planet for sources of energy. Laserbeak soon returned to report his discovery of an offshore oil platform, which the Decepticons promptly attacked, gathering oil and storing it in the energon cubes Soundwave generated from his chest. The Autobots soon arrived to stop the Decepticons, but Megatron collapsed the rig, forcing the Autobots to save the human workers and allowing the Decepticons to escape. More than Meets the Eye, Part 1

Seeking to exploit the data that Teletraan I had gathered on Earth in its short time on the planet, Soundwave positioned himself close to the Autobots' base, where he transformed into his cassette player mode and allowed himself to be found by the Autobots' new human friend, Spike Witwicky. Unaware of the true nature of the unassuming tape player he had found, Spike brought Soundwave into the Autobot ship and then left him unattended, allowing the Decepticon communicator to release Ravage. The feline felon interfaced with Teletraan I and located the computer's data on energy sources, which Soundwave then recorded. Soundwave was soon caught in the act by Spike, but managed to escape to report to Megatron. Using the information Soundwave obtained, Megatron decided to attack Sherman Dam, where Soundwave instructed Rumble to use his earthquake-generating powers to create a tidal wave that maximized the plant's energy output. More than Meets the Eye, Part 2

The Decepticons' raids continued apace, until only one more theft was necessary. As Megatron put his plan to attack an Air Force base together, Starscream attempted another of his infamous coups by trying to shoot him in the back, but Soundwave proved his loyalty to Megatron by warning his leader of the attack. The subsequent raid on the Air Force base went smoothly, and the Decepticons were at last poised to return to Cybertron when the Autobots made one last-ditch attack on their launch site. Soundwave and his tapes went into action, but Megatron soon called the battle off and ordered the Decepticons to board the completed space cruiser. Soundwave served as the ship's helmsman as it blasted off from Earth, but the flight proved a short one, as Soundwave discovered that the Autobot spy Mirage has used his invisibility powers to stow away. Before the Decepticons could react, Mirage had sabotaged the ship and sent it plummeting back towards Earth. With Soundwave unable to stop its descent, the ship crashed into the ocean, and the Autobots believed the Decepticons destroyed. More than Meets the Eye, Part 3

In truth, however, Soundwave and the other Decepticons had survived the crash, and after months of working in secret, reconstructed their spaceship into an undersea headquarters. The villains revealed their continued existence to the world when Soundwave again used his inconspicuous tape player form to infiltrate a solar power plant and proceeded to take control of it, allowing the Decepticons to harvest its energy that they planned to send back to Cybertron over their new intergalactic "space bridge" transport system. Soundwave repelled an Autobot counterattack by wielding Megatron in pistol mode, but ultimately, the plan backfired when Megatron himself was caught in the space bridge's pull and believed destroyed, leaving Starscream to take control of the Decepticons. Transport to Oblivion Soundwave chafed under Starscream's inept leadership, and their first sortie with the air commander in charge ended in a comical defeat that saw Soundwave bowled over by Prowl as he ran away. Thankfully, Megatron soon returned, with a scheme to steal Doctor Alcazar's antimatter formula, and Soundwave happily latched back onto his master. After Alcazar deleted the formula from his own computer, Soundwave used his mind-reading talents to acquire the formula from the brain of Chip Chase. Roll for It

Soundwave participated in a Decepticon attack on Autobot Headquarters when Optimus Prime was mistakenly believed to be fatally wounded. Divide and Conquer Soon after, during a scheme to drain heat energy from the Earth's core, the Decepticons unearthed the frozen body of Starscream's old friend Skyfire in the North Pole. Soundwave helped reactivate him by delivering a million-volt shock to his systems, but Skyfire ultimately sided with the Autobots to stop the Decepticons' plan. Fire in the Sky Later, Soundwave and Reflector were sent on a data-gathering mission, acquiring information about the Great Falls to facilitate a Decepticon attack on the hydro-electric plant there. S.O.S. Dinobots

On a mission to the Peruvian Andes, Soundwave successfully proved that the legend of the Incan Crystal of Power was true when he deduced that the pyramid containing the fabled gemstone rested on a shaft leading to the Earth's core. On a mission to gather steel for a weapon frame to channel the crystal's power, Soundwave and Reflector were ambushed by Brawn and Windcharger in mid-air, and Soundwave found himself driven face-first into a mountain by the small Autobot in the first of several clashes that they would engage in over the years. Soundwave tried to fight back with his own rifle, and even tried blasting Brawn with Megatron in pistol mode, but the little Autobot took everything he had to give and escaped in one piece. Fire on the Mountain Later, Soundwave's mind-reading abilities came into use again when he scanned the brains of the Dinobots, Grimlock, Slag and Sludge, in order to determine their weaknesses. War of the Dinobots

When Megatron schemed to use the space bridge to transport Cybertron into Earth's orbit, he required human slaves to gather the energy that would result from the massive natural catastrophes such an action would cause. Soundwave and his cassettes were dispatched to capture Sparkplug Witwicky, who served as a guinea pig for the mind-controlling hypno-chips created by the Decepticons' new ally, Doctor Arkeville. The Ultimate Doom, Part 1 The plan to transport Cybertron was subsequently accomplished despite Autobot interference, and Soundwave ensured that energy collection could begin quickly by forcing the Autobots to flee with a barrage of painful audio disruptor waves. The Ultimate Doom, Part 2 Soundwave later transported a cache of energon cubes to the orbiting Cybertron, and was still there when a group of Autobots arrived, searching for the hypno-chip master control. In another encounter with Brawn, Soundwave was taken down by a single blast from his undersized rival, and then alerted the Decepticon forces on the planet to the Autobots' escape. It did little good, as the heroes were able to evade capture, find the hypno-chip control, free the slaves and blast Cybertron out of orbit. The Ultimate Doom, Part 3

Megatron was briefly thought destroyed by the explosion that pushed Cybertron out of orbit, by the Decepticon leader soon returned to Earth, where Soundwave immediately informed him of Starscream's latest play for leadership. Countdown to Extinction (episode) Soundwave later accompanied Megatron and Thundercracker to Bali, where they met the Insecticons. A Plague of Insecticons Later still, when Megatron challenged Optimus Prime to a one-on-one duel, Soundwave and the other Decepticons contributed their power chip rectifiers to a machine built by the Constructicons that would transfer all their powers into Megatron, so that he could win the fight with ease. While Megatron never used Soundwave's powers in the duel, he still claimed victory, but when his breach of the rules was revealed, he, Soundwave and all the Decepticons were sent tumbling into a river of lava by the fighting-mad Autobots.Heavy Metal War

As 1985 rolled in, Soundwave participated in a Decepticon attack on an Air Force base, Autobot Spike and helped in the construction of the Solar Needle in the jungles of South America. Changing Gears When Megatron sought to conquer New York City, Soundwave, Rumble and Frenzy battled a group of Autobots in Central Park, and Soundwave was later put in charge of the weapons systems of the so-called "New Cybertron" that New York was being turned into. That control was soon lost, unfortunately, when a stray blast from an irate Megatron destroyed Soundwave's console. City of Steel

Soundwave and his cassettes were next sent on a distraction mission, keeping the Autobots occupied while Megatron and Starscream snuck inside their base and sabotaged their recharging chambers with a Personality destabilizer device, narrowly avoiding another pounding from Brawn in the process. Attack of the Autobots After helping to steal electro-cells Traitor and the Autobots' new Immobilizer invention, The Immobilizer Soundwave was appointed to guard the captive Autobots after Megatron succeeded in trapping them in vehicle mode with the Transfixatron. The communications officer put his skills to work disabling the Autobots' communicators, but neglected to disable Hound's hologram projector, which the Autobot was able to use to summon the small number of his comrades who had not been affected by the Transfixatron. Wheeljack and Ratchet developed a grenade to undo the device's effects, and together, Spike and Chip Chase outran Soundwave and Ravage to detonate it and restore the Autobots. The Autobot Run

When Laserbeak and Buzzsaw stumbled upon the subaquatic city of Sub-Atlantica, Soundwave immediately summoned Megatron to view their findings. Megatron and the Decepticons set out for the city at once, and forged an alliance with its leader, the boastful telepathic King Nergill, in order to conquer Washington, D.C. Starscream, however, did not trust the fish-man, and had Soundwave put his own telepathic powers to use to decrypt the scrambled messages Nergill repeatedly gave to his underlings. Soundwave discovered that Nergill was planning to betray the Decepticons, leading to the breakdown of their alliance. Atlantis, Arise!

Soundwave and Megatron used their diminutive alternate modes to infiltrate Quantum Laboratories as part of a plan to take over the computer TORQ III. Day of the Machines Later, Soundwave helped steal the human-made robot ninja Nightbird (finally getting one over on Brawn in the process by collapsing a balcony out from under him), and aided Bombshell in reprogramming the femme-bot to serve the Decepticons.Enter the Nightbird

When the Decepticons discovered strange energy emanations coming from a crevice, Soundwave dispatched the Autoscout to investigate, discovering the crevice was filled with Korlonium crystals. Megatron schemed to create a clone of Optimus Prime as part of a plan to harness the crystals' power, and while the plan failed, the clone was at least impressive enough to completely fool Soundwave, and he was in on it! A Prime Problem Subsequently, Soundwave took part in the Decepticons' plan to drill to the Earth's core, The Core and was then made a mind-controlled pawn of the Insecticons, who used him to download data from the human military defense computer at Iron Mountain. Megatron and Optimus Prime were forced to team up to stop the Insecticons and destroy the cerebro-shell controlling Soundwave, erasing the data he had gathered in the process. The Insecticon Syndrome

While spying on Autobot Headquarters, Soundwave learned of the existence of the mysterious prehistoric Dinobot Island, and sent Laserbeak to follow the Dinobots as they travelled there. Dinobot Island, Part 1 Soundwave proceeded to join the Decepticons in raiding the island's energy sources, before the Autobots, Dinobots and the island's native dinosaurs saw them off. Dinobot Island, Part 2
Using his alternate mode to infiltrate a military testing site, Soundwave and his cassettes made a hard-fought but ultimately failed attempt to steal the Autobots' new Negavator weapon. Auto Berserk Later, when human archaeologists uncovered the wreckage of the Decepticons' old space cruiser in South America, Soundwave alerted Megatron to the news report about their findings, then accompanied him to the wreckage, where they removed the ship's power source, the Heart of Cybertron. Celebrating the new power that the Heart bestowed upon Megatron, Soundwave joined his fellow Decepticons in over-energizing on energon, leaving him too inebriated to do much of anything.Microbots
When Megatron framed the Autobots for energy theft and had them exiled from Earth, Soundwave took part in the Decepticons' pretense of being heroes. Megatron's Master Plan, Part 1 Soundwave was quite popular among the humans: a young child was heard cheering for him by name, and when he and his cassettes attended a disco, he acquired many female admirers. In one of his most impressible displays of sneakitude, Soundwave was able to position himself, in tape player mode, inside Ironhide's vehicle mode, right next to Blaster, and spy on the test run of the Ultra Plane, with neither Autobot noticing until he deployed Ravage. While Blaster wrestled with Ravage, Soundwave escaped to report to Megatron, after which he and Starscream joined their leader in attacking the lab containing the blueprints for the plane. The Autobots saw them off, but during their flight away, the Decepticons' systems began to malfunction as a result of cybertonium degradation. Soundwave's cassettes began ejecting without his command, and his flight powers gave out, sending him crashing to the ground. Desertion of the Dinobots, Part 1 Once repaired with fresh cybertonium from Cybertron, Soundwave joined the Decepticons on a mission to Great Britain. A Decepticon Raider in King Arthur's Court
Soundwave was among the Decepticons who were granted invincible electrum coating by the "Golden Lagoon". Following the Decepticons' alliance with the Geddis brothers, Make Tracks Soundwave joined in the Decepticon attempt to create a space bridge in a baseball stadium, where he wickedly delighted in playing catch with one of the players (literally!). The Autobots soon arrived, and another brawl between Soundwave and Brawn erupted, ending when the small Autobot threw Soundwave into the space bridge. When a stray blast then activated the bridge, Soundwave and a small group of Autobots and Decepticons were inadvertently hurled to a world of alien giants. After being menaced by the huge cat Nitro and trapped in a toybox by Nitro's owner Aron, Soundwave was taken with the other Transformers to the planet's authorities for study and dissection. Ravage succeeded in freeing them, and the Decepticons all escaped back to Earth through a mock space bridge Perceptor created out of a telescope. Child's Play (episode) Upon his return, Soundwave was caught up in the menace of the Morphobots, Quest for Survival analyzed the energy of an alien asteroid, The Secret of Omega Supreme and helped operate the Decepticons' new energy magnet. Kremzeek!

After joining Megatron on a mission to the planet of the Tlalakans, Sea Change Soundwave embarked on one of his most notable misadventures when, under the command of Starscream, he set about brainwashing humans with ultrasonic vibrations inside the Decepticon-built nightclub Dancitron in New York City. This led to his first major confrontation with his Autobot communications officer counterpart, Blaster, with whom he engaged in a sonic duel. Soundwave had the upper hand in the violent jam session, until Blaster used the club's sound system to magnify his own sonic attacks and win the fight. Auto-Bop

When the Decepticons captured Hybrid Technologies heiress Astoria Carlton-Ritz, Soundwave tried to use the psycho-probe to read her mind, but her innate ability to jinx machines made it a challenge, and eventually led to Soundwave and Rumble being electrocuted. When Powerglide subsequently caused the Decepticons' new sub-orbital base to crash, it fell to Soundwave to inform Megatron that the base didn't have any forcefields.
On a mission to recover some incriminating footage taken by a movie studio of their activities, Soundwave showed up Starscream by pointing out that while the air commander had recovered the film reel, he had not destroyed the negative. Soundwave then helped Megatron track the negative down, but they were tricked into thinking it was destroyed by Hoist. Hoist Goes Hollywood Soon after, Soundwave accompanied Megatron to Cybertron to give life to his new Stunticons, helping him locate the key to Vector Sigma and unlocking the door to the mega-computer's chamber. The Key to Vector Sigma, Part 1 Upon their return to Earth with the now-living Stuncticons, Soundwave aided Megatron in analyzing the key to discover what other powers it possessed. Soundwave soon returned to Cybertron to take part in Megatron's plan to trap the newest addition to the Autobot ranks, the Aerialbots, in the distant past, War Dawn then went back to Earth and used his scanning powers to help Megatron locate the Pearl of Bahoudin. Trans-Europe Express Soundwave later had Laserbeak monitor the Cosmic Rust infection spreading through the Autobot ranks, Cosmic Rust (episode), and had the cassette remove Starscream from Decepticon Headquarters after Megatron finally banished the perennial traitor from the Decepticon ranks. When Starscream returned with his own army, the Combaticons, Soundwave was almost able to shoot the traitor in the back until Swindle caused his shot to go wild. Soundwave tried to summon the Stunticons to help, and while they initially rebuffed him, they eventually arrived to tip the scales in Megatron's favor. Starscream's Brigade

Suspecting the Autobots had tampered with Megatron's new ruby laser cannon, Soundwave advised his leader to abandon the weapon, but Megatron was caught up in a battle-frenzy and ignored him. Predictably, the weapon promptly exploded. Masquerade For his final recorded adventure in the 20th century, Soundwave invented a device to control the flow of Earth's tides. Before the Decepticons could use it, however, it was necessary to blast the moon out of orbit to remove its controlling influence, so they developed an orbit disruptor cannon to do the job. Unfortunately, the cannon would only be operated by Bruticus, and all the Combaticons save Swindle had been destroyed, so Soundwave installed a bomb in Swindle's head to give him the incentive to gather up their parts and rebuild them. Bruticus was restored, and Soundwave participated in the Decepticon attack upon Autobot Headquarters that served as a test run for the disruptor cannon, but the complex plot was foiled when three college students used [[B.O.T.
Over the course of the following twenty years, the Decepticons withdrew from Earth and focused all their efforts on conquering Cybertron entirely. By the year 2005, they had accomplished this goal, and the Autobots were consigned to their new "Autobot City" on Earth, and to bases on two of Cybertron's moon. Thanks to Laserbeak and Soundwave, Megatron learned of an upcoming Autobot strike against Cybertron, and resolved to cripple their war effort by destroying Autobot City. During the subsequent battle, Soundwave was instructed to jam a distress call to Optimus Prime from Blaster, so he sent Ravage, Rumble, Frenzy and Ratbat to dismantle the communications array being used to broadcast it. Blaster's own team of cassettes fended Soundwave's off, and the call made it through, summoning Optimus Prime and a support team to aid the stricken city. A fateful final battle between Prime and Megatron ensued, which ended with Prime's death and Megatron mortally wounded. As the other Decepticons beat a hasty retreat, Soundwave demonstrated his loyalty to his leader by recovering his damaged body and carrying him aboard Astrotrain, but when it became necessary to jettison excess weight so that the Decepticons could safely make it back to Cybertron, Soundwave made no move to stop Starscream from setting Megatron adrift in space. In fact, with Megatron gone, Soundwave himself made a bid for leadership, declaring himself a superior choice to the Constructicons and deploying his cassettes to fight for his honor. Starscream ultimately emerged victorious in the fight for leadership, but during his coronation ceremony, Megatron returned, having been recreated by the giant transforming god-planet Unicron into Galvatron. Galvatron promptly killed Starscream, and Soundwave started cheering for his returned leader.
Galvatron's leadership did not get off to a great start, however: Unicron soon attacked Cybertron, and while he was destroyed by the Autobot Matrix of Leadership, Galvatron was lost to the depths of space, and the leaderless Decepticons, in a state of disarray after Unicron's attack, were easily routed and forced off Cybertron by the Autobots and their new leader, Rodimus Prime. The Transformers: The Movie Low on energy, Soundwave and the other Decepticons were forced to relocate to the burned-out planet Chaar, where they eked out a miserable existence on the brink of death. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 1 When Rodimus Prime and Grimlock came to Chaar to investigate a mysterious attack on the Galactic Olympics, Soundwave and the Decepticons attacked them, Five Faces of Darkness, Part 2 and were then later approached by the true instigators of the Olympics attack, the alien Quintessons, with the prospect of an alliance. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 3 Under the Quintessons' instructions, Soundwave and the other Decepticons launched an attack on the Autobots on the planet Goo 8739B, during which Galvatron returned, having been found by Cyclonus and Scourge. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 4 With Galvatron back in charge, Soundwave was amongst the Decepticons who were sent to Earth to try and stop Metroplex's transforming cog from being delivered. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 5
In 2006, Soundwave went with Galvatron, Cyclonus, Scourge and the Sweeps to search for isidrite in an asteroid belt. Soundwave dispatched Ratbat to search for the mineral, only for the cassette to discover that the Autobots were already mining it. Webworld Soon after, Soundwave accompanied Galvatron to the planet Eurythma to investigate a mysterious sonic weapon. They discovered that sound and music were the way of life on the planet, and Soundwave was entranced by the planet's perfect melodies, specifically the destructive harmony weapon, which was shared by three Eurythmans. One by one, Soundwave coerced from them each piece of the harmony, recording and combing them with the intention of turning the musical maelstrom upon Autobot City. He was defeated, however, when the Eurythmans countered the harmony with anti-sound, and Blaster erased his recordings. Carnage in C-Minor
As coincidence would have it, Autobot Headmaster leader Fortress had also used the science of Master to restore Blaster to life as "Twincast", and the two rivals clashed for the first time in their new lives when the Autobot destroyed Soundblaster's sonic control and foiled the Decepticons' plot. The Great Cassette Operation

Soundblaster was among the Decepticons who invaded and enslaved the planet Beast. Rebellion on Planet Beast Later, he dispatched Ratbat to spy on the Autobots and learn more about a mysterious blackmailer holding six countries to ransom, reporting his findings to Cyclonus and Scourge. Terror! The Six Shadows Later still, Soundblaster and his cassette force were able to infiltrate Cybertron's lowest levels and spy on Vector Sigma, discovering that the mega-computer had developed a powerful new alloy named cybertonuron. Acting on Soundblaster's information, Galvatron staged a massive attack on Cybertron, Cybertron Is in Grave Danger, Part 1 but Scorponok plotted treachery, planting a bomb in Vector Sigma's chamber in order to destroy the alloy, rather than let Galvatron gain its power. When Galvatron discovered this, Soundblaster attempted to stop him from going to Vector Sigma's chamber, but Galvatron ignored him, and paid for his hubris when the bomb detonated in his face, destroying the cybertonuron and reducing Cybertron to a burnt out husk. Cybertron Is in Grave Danger, Part 2

With Galvatron having disappeared in the destruction of Cybertron, Soundblaster met with the other senior Decepticons to discuss what should be done next. During their meeting, the shadowed figure of Galvatron appeared in the room, but Soundblaster quickly analyzed the newcomer's voice pattern, and realized it was not Galvatron, but Scorponok engaging in a bout of gallows humor. Shedding his disguise, Scorponok claimed that Galvatron was still alive, and that while he could not reveal where he was, he had commanded Scorponok to lead in his absence. None of the Decepticons were entirely convinced (in truth, it was a bold-faced lie), but Soundblaster, in need of a leader to follow, chose to accept it as truth, and followed Scorponok's command to send Ratbat to spy on the Autobot/human launch of the Sol 1 satellite. The Shadow Emperor, Scorponok Soon after, when Scorponok began scheming to keep the Autobots occupied on Earth with various threads, Soundblaster and his cassettes kept an eye on the Autobots' movements and were able to inform their leader that his plans were working. The Dormant Volcano Mysteriously Erupts{{storylink|Head On!!

Following Scorponok's instructions, Soundwave directed the planting of plasma energy bombs beneath the surface of Mars, in order to destroy the planet and harvest even more of the energy. Explosion on Mars!! Maximus Is in Danger At Scorponok's command, Soundblaster then recalled all available Decepticons to Chaar, where they all witnessed their leader's dramatic unveiling of his gigantic new Transtector. With this powerful new body, Scorponok kept the Autobots occupied while Soundblaster himself pressed the fateful button that detonated the plasma bombs and destroyed Mars. Explosion on Mars!! MegaZarak Appears

Soundblaster and his cassettes did not take kindly to the arrival of Scorponok's new intelligence officer, Counterpunch, who irked Soundblaster with his remarkable ability to dig up information that Soundblaster couldn't. Of course, Soundblaster had no idea that Counterpunch was able to do this because he was really the Autobot spy, Punch, and so he and his cassettes set out to prove themselves by going to Earth to see what Autobots secrets they could unearth. Unable to find any information, Soundblaster was moping around the Decepticon Earth base when a story suddenly dropped itself right into his lap: a glowing UFO descended from the sky and abducted Sixshot right before his eyes! Soundblaster attempted to report his findings to Scorponok during a battle with the Autobots on Earth's moon, but there and then, the UFO reappeared, and its owner was revealed to be Galvatron, who had survived his appeared destruction and retook leadership of the Decepticons. Return of the Immortal Emperor
Soundblaster and the Decepticon Headmasters were manning the scanners at the Decepticon base on Chaar when the Horrorcons arrived to join up with Galvatron's forces. Daniel Faces His Biggest Crisis Ever!! Soon after, Soundblaster joined the Decepticons on a series of interplanetary energy raids, helping to scan the spaceways and communications channels to keep his leader appraised of Autobot and alien activity as they went from planet Hive Fight to the Death on Planet Hive!! to Twin Star Battle for Defense of the False Planet to Daros. Find MegaZarak's Weak Spot!! The Decepticons' quest eventually brought them to Pirate Planet, where they were stymied in their pursuit of the planet's fabled energy by their inability to enter the pyramid that held it. Soundblaster observed Highbrow and Daniel Witwicky departing for the field of debris near the planet, and, suspecting they knew something he didn't, followed them. Soundblaster proceeded to ambush the two heroes and demand they share their information, but Daniel was able to get the drop on the Decepticon with his video game light gun, which Highbrow had amped up into a real weapon. Mystery of the Space Pirate Ship

When the Decepticons returned to Earth, Sixshot proceeded to lead a series of major attacks upon the Autobot forces. Soundblaster reported to Galvatron on the departure of Fortress Maximus from Athenia, and suggested sending Scorponok to keep him busy. Galvatron was wary, knowing Scorponok had his own agenda, but Soundblaster vowed to follow him and keep an eye on him, and Galvatron agreed. However, Soundblaster was surprisingly lax in his duty, as Scorponok didn't bother engaging Fortress, and Soundblaster didn't report this at all! Ultra Magnus Dies!!

Following Galvatron's death at the hands of the Headmasters and Scorponok's subsequent re-assumption of Decepticon leadership, Soundblaster was among the Decepticons who travelled with his new leader to the planet Master. Miraculous Warriors, Targetmasters (Part 2) When the Autobots followed them there, Soundblaster boldly infiltrated their spaceship, the Maximus, and spied on them with Ratbat. When he was discovered, however, he leapt overboard and flew back to the surface of Master, inadvertently leading the Autobot Targetmasters to the Decepticons' hidden subterranean base. The Zarak Shield Turns the Tide Soundblaster was able to repay them in kind after a later battle, though, when he stealthily followed the retreating Targetmasters and discovered that the Autobots had started working with the young warriors of Master. Operation: Destroy the Decepticons

After Scorponok successfully completed construction of his new Zarak Shield weapon, the Decepticons headed back to Earth, but as they were passing through the asteroid belt, Soundblaster noticed a malfunction in their propulsion system that required them to set down for repairs. While they were resting there, Soundblaster detected the approach of an object, which turned out to be Sixshot, who had become separated from the Decepticons on an earlier leg of their journey. Duel on the Asteroid

Finally, once the Decepticons returned to Earth, Scorponok began raising "Death Towers" of crysmagnetal at strategic points around the Earth, intending to use them to tear the planet apart. While on patrol in the Alps, Soundblaster observed the passage of the Autobots' battleship, and radioed the Decepticons in Egypt to let them know of their enemies' approach. Subsequently, with all the Death Towers in place, Soundblaster participated in the climactic battle between the Autobot and Decepticons armies at the South Pole, which ended when Fortress Maximus destroyed Scorponok's Transtector and saved the planet. The Final Showdown on Earth (Part 2)
After their defeat at the North Pole, the Decepticons were preparing to retreat from Earth entirely when Scorponok instructed Soundblaster to remain on the planet in secret to act as a spy for the Decepticons. Soundblaster proved that he wasn't up to the challenge by making his presence and intentions known almost instantly when he kicked Wheelie square in the face and took the Witwicky family hostage. Chromedome was left powerless to do anything but surrender, as Slugfest and Overkill brutalized Spike and threatened Carly. Daniel finally snapped and beat the living crap out of the two Cassette dinosaurs, leaving Soundblaster open to Chromedome's poorly named "Master-Chrome Hurricane Throw to the End of Hell!" Chromedome chucked Soundblaster over the horizon, and when he recovered from his fall, he found Sixshot staring down at him. Demanding to know what Sixshot wanted, Soundblaster was informed that the six-changer was no longer affiliated with the Decepticons, and wanted to travel from planet to planet, learning new transformations. One day, Sixshot told him, he wanted to learn how to transform into a human! Soundblaster was left absolutely dumbfounded by this, unable to even compute such a concept, and wagering it would be a few million years before he could. The Headmasters issue 8
A week later, Soundwave was part of the Decepticon forces who entered Iacon after Devastator breached the city walls. Battle Lines, Part 5 He was still by Megatron's side when Devastator fell, and took part in the subsequent retreat. Battle Lines, Part 6
Notes
* The G1 cartoon almost always depicted him as having to press all his own controls to eject minions or perform other functions even though these are actually part of him. This has led to many a shot of Soundwave pressing his own crotch. What will the children think?
* According to the original script for More than Meets the Eye, Part 1, "Sound Wave" transformed into "a LIGHT STANDARD - identical to the one that exists a short distance away, the perfect camouflage". So... yes, he really did turn into a lamppost on Cybertron.
* Soundwave's distinctive voice proved to be one of Generation 1's most memorable aspects. The highly processed voice (processed by Scott Brownlee) began with Frank Welker basically doing his "Dr. Claw" voice from Inspector Gadget. Whether due to variations in the performance or the processing, the final result varied quite a bit across Soundwave's three seasons on the show. Occasionally, as in the episodes "Roll for It", "Carnage in C-Minor" and "Webworld", the processing was left out and Welker's actual voice can be heard. This Dr. Claw version of Soundwave's voice made a return when Welker reprised the role for Revenge of the Fallen and Dark of the Moon as the processing was, again, left out.
* Similarly, he often emphasizes words at random, such as his well-known "RavAAAAAGE", or "LAAZABEEK". This may be a side effect of the voice doctoring in the cartoon.
*In the Mandarin dub from China, Soundwave had a glorious, operatic voice.

* The typically emotionally-barren Soundwave actually laughs on two separate occasions in the Generation 1 cartoon ("Quest for Survival" and "Auto-Bop"), while he is heard screaming only once ("Roll for It").
* Soundwave has flown in his alt mode one time, in the episode "Masquerade." In Atlus's Transformers game, Soundwave can transform to tape deck mode and kind of bounces around to move in that form. No, really.
* In the Japanese dub of the Generation 1 cartoon, as well as the supporting manga, all of Soundwave's cassette forces which could talk referred to him as "Anikii" (兄貴い) or "Big Brother." This is a fairly common way to refer to others you admire and such in Japanese. It's also a term that gang members use toward older, more experienced members who aren't actual gang bosses. Take it as you will. Whatever it says about his relationship with them, it does give new meaning to the phrase "Big Brother is watching over you".

In the final battle of the Universe war, Rhinox defeated this Tankor, presumably redeeming his actions as his own universe's Tankor. Revelations Part 2
**Accessories: Projectile

: Part of the first wave of Beast Machines product, Tankor transforms into a large Cybertronic tank. Aside from a spring-loaded missile launcher, he also features a light-piped "scanner eye" on his turret, and twin sawblades that spin via gear-wheel system when his tank mode is pushed along. In robot mode, all of these gimmicks are retained, though the "scanner eye" is this time in his robot head.

: For reasons unknown, his name was misspelled as "Tankorr" on his instructions.

: This toy was redecoed into Universe incarnation of Tankor. The toy's likeness was also repurposed as the non-toy Beast Era incarnation of Quake and his drones.
*Tankor (Happy Meal Toy, 2000)

: One of nine Beast Machines Happy Meal toys from McDonald's restaurants, Tankor transforms into a small Cybertronic tank based a bit more on the show's CGI model. This toy features a fair bit of articulation (about 8 points in robot mode), though some points are more useful than others. His head articulation, for example, is quite nice. The toy also has lightpiping through the spark and missile rack on his belly.

RedRooster
*Tankor (Little Red Rooster Meal, 2000)

: The Happy Meal toy was retooled and redecoed for release in Australia, through the Red Rooster fast food chain. Aside from the original coloration, this mold was also cast in the colors of the other three molds used by Red Rooster: Jetstorm, Megatron and Rattrap. The retooling involved removing (and plugging up) Tankor's light piping, meaning that his neck is no longer translucent plastic. Due to the softer plastic used to construct him it can be difficult to get Red Rooster Tankor's arms to come out.
*Vehicon Tankor (Basic, March 26 2005)
**Japanese ID number: BR-06
**Accessories: "energy blast" missile

: Released in the second wave of the Japanese Toys "R" Us exclusive Beast Wars Returns line (the Japanese name for Beast Machines), Tankor is a redeco of the Basic Tank Drone, transforming into a Cybertronic four-tracked tank. Pressing the spark crystal on his cannon connects a gear-wheel system on the underside of his tank mode, spinning his barrel as he is pushed along, eventually firing a spring-loaded "energy blast" missile.

: It is highly (in fact, almost perfectly) show-accurate to the Tank Drones, although woefully out of scale with the other Beast Machines toys. Like the rest of the line, actually...

: This mold was also used to make Stockade.

:Part of the first wave of Universe Ultra sets, Tankor is a redeco of the original Mega toy in an olive-green and mustard-yellow coloration with "energon surge" paint on various parts. He retains all of the gimmickry of the original toy. He was only available in an Ultra-level two-pack with Obsidian.
Robot Heroes
* Cheetor vs. Tankor (2009)

: Tankor is part of the fourth wave of Universe Robot Heroes and is designated as from the "Beast Machines Series," along with his packmate Cheetor. His sculpt is derived from his television show appearance, but his colorscheme is taken from the Tank Drone toy. Tankor has articulation at the neck and shoulders, though his left arm doesn't have good clearance with his hip.
