*The series uses a different art style from its predecessor. For example, the robot characters in this series have full optics instead of large gaps around an iris. The recruits also have a shorter stature than the other bots, with Optimus being the tallest of the cast. The statue of [[Griffin Rock]]'s founder [[Horace Burns]] was located in Milford's art museum when Heatwave took the recruits there for a visit. [[Grimlock (RID 2015)|Grimlock]]'s [[Cube (sport)|Cube]] escaped the Academy and led the recruits on a chase around Milford. They had trouble catching it as they were unable to use their bot modes.
