Life on peacetime [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] goes on, with [[Optimus Prime (Cyberverse)|Optimus Prime]] and his fellow leaders speaking at the dedication of the new [[Trypticon (Cyberverse)|Trypticon Plaza]]. However, the festivities are interrupted by the sudden appearance of a swirling vortex in the air. The flaming form of [[Astrotrain (Cyberverse)|Astrotrain]] emerges from the portal and crashes down in the plaza. As Optimus and the others rush to his side, the badly damaged Astrotrain gives the group a cryptic warning before succumbing to his wounds: something much worse than [[Megatron X (Cyberverse)|the other Megatron]] is coming.

Within [[Iaconus]], the leaders of both factions attempt to prepare for the invasion, though not knowing what's coming makes preparations difficult. The [[Dinobot (Cyberverse)|Dinobots]] are itching for a fight, but only succeed in annoying everyone they come across with their overenthusiasm. [[Wheeljack (Cyberverse)|Wheeljack]] and [[Sky-Byte (Cyberverse)|Sky-Byte]] raise the planetary shields as a precautionary measure, putting all of Cybertron on edge. However, it doesn't take long before the shield is broken, and a group of [[Decepticon supersoldier]]s teleport into the room—and immediately start beating the scrap out of each other. Confused, the others pull the fighters apart, and the most damaged among them takes the opportunity to finish off his aggressors, warning that everyone is in grave danger. Indeed, Optimus receives a transmission from [[Windblade (Cyberverse)|Windblade]], who confirms that more supersoldiers are appearing all over Cybertron, ruthlessly fighting one another. The damaged bot explains that his dimension's Megatron programmed them to be mindless soldiers that lived only for battle, but after his destruction, the supersoldiers slayed Astrotrain in retribution and now fight among themselves for leadership. While most of the supersoldiers are mindless and instinctive, the damaged one has evolved and given himself a name: [[Tarn (Cyberverse)|Tarn]]. Optimus insists they stop the conflict, hoping the rest can change like Tarn did, but the [[Decepticon]]s would rather see the invaders destroy each other. Thus, two plans are put into motion...

Wheeljack arms the [[Autobot]]s with various gadgets, intent on using them to pacify and disable the supersoldiers. The plan works well at first, with the devices managing to incapacitate the brawlers. However, the supersoldiers use their teleporters to free themselves from the traps before reemerging and beginning their street fight anew. With the plan deemed a failure, [[Soundwave (Cyberverse)|Soundwave]] decides it's time for the Decepticon approach. On his orders, the Decepticons open fire on their otherdimensional counterparts, but they prove impervious to their weapons. Even an attempt to drop a warhead on the supersoldiers is ineffective, as they simply teleport away from the blast. Optimus worries that they have run out of options, but Tarn offers a solution: the [[Cortex Helm]], a legendary relic that could be used to rewrite their programming and remove their need for dominance.

At Bumblebee's suggestion, he, Optimus, Soundwave, [[Shadow Striker (Cyberverse)|Shadow Striker]] and Tarn journey into the wilderness and find [[Thunderhowl (Cyberverse)|Thunderhowl]] to ask him about the Cortex Helm. Thunderhowl confirms it once belonged to his former master [[Onyx Prime]] and, with some persuasion, agrees to take them to its hiding place. The group travels by shuttle to a spot high above Cybertron, and are shocked when Thunderhowl orders them to land on the open air—even more so when they actually do so successfully. The ancient warrior places his sword in a hidden plinth to reveal the landmass on which they now stand: the [[Isle of Onyx Prime]]. As they traverse the isle, the group find themselves attacked by giant statues of [[Alpha Trion]]. Despite the statues' regenerative abilities, they are defeated when the group manages to force them over the edge, plummeting to the surface below. Venturing deeper in, the group nearly falls victim to the same fate when a walkway crumbles beneath them, barely managing to reach the other side in time.

At last, they reach the central chamber, sealed with a door that can only be unlocked by the [[Matrix of Leadership]]. As Prime does so, Tarn breaks away from the others and charges in, grabbing the Cortex Helm and placing it upon his head, much to everyone's shock. Tarn confirms he has removed the desire for dominance from his brethren's programming, but has instead replaced it with subservience to himself. Other supersoldiers appear and restrain the team, and Tarn announces that he will finish what Megatron couldn't, putting a permanent end to the Autobots. As Tarn issues his orders, supersoldiers all over the planet stop fighting and immediately turn their attention to the Autobots, opening fire.

With his machinations in motion, Tarn invites Soundwave and Shadow Striker to join his new regime, to which they reluctantly agree. Tarn then orders Shadow Striker to execute Bumblebee and Thunderhowl before departing with Optimus and Soundwave in tow. The three re-emerge in an empty [[Cube Arena|Cube arena]], and Tarn begins broadcasting to all of Cybertron. He announces himself as the new Decepticon leader, and that much like Megatron fought in the [[Gladiatorial combat|gladiator]] pits of old, Optimus will now have to fight a gauntlet of his supersoldiers for the right to challenge him. As Optimus begins his battle, Tarn declares that the [[Treaty of the Wall|peace treaty]] is now null and void, ordering the Decepticons to destroy any remaining Autobots. Some follow their new orders, while others like [[Dead End (Cyberverse)|Dead End]] and [[Wildwheel (Cyberverse)|Wildwheel]] can only bring themselves to watch. The Autobots attempt to fight back, but soon find themselves on the back foot and are forced to retreat. [[Hot Rod (Cyberverse)|Hot Rod]] sends coordinates to all the Autobots, ordering them to regroup there.

On the Isle of Onyx Prime, the supersoldiers hold Bumblebee and Thunderhowl over the precipice, waiting for Shadow Striker to finish them. Bumblebee chastises Shadow Striker for still holding onto her grudge against him, but she surprises him when she shoots the supersoldiers off the ledge instead. She orders the two to escape as she is confronted by another group of supersoldiers. In the arena, Optimus wins his first match, but Tarn begins sending increasing numbers of opponents to battle him at once. Elsewhere, Wheeljack, [[Arcee (Cyberverse)|Arcee]] and [[Clobber (Cyberverse)|Clobber]] find themselves cornered by a group of supersoldiers. Unable to watch his friend be hurt any longer, [[Lockdown (Cyberverse)|Lockdown]] steps in to help Clobber, giving them the opening they all need to get away. [[Jetfire (Cyberverse)|Jetfire]] finds himself under attack as well, but is saved by some timely intervention from [[Whirl (Cyberverse)|Whirl]], and they head to the rendezvous point.

Optimus's battle is beginning to take its toll on him, and though he attempts to reason with Tarn, pointing out how he has come to embody the sort of corrpution Megatron originally stood against, Tarn is unfazed and continues to throw more opponents at Optimus. Shadow Striker is brought before Tarn, who expresses disappointment at her decision to betray him. Shadow Striker berates Soundwave for serving under Tarn so easily, but Soundwave replies that he's simply following orders, just as he always did for [[Shockwave (Cyberverse)|Shockwave]]—and Shadow Striker at last realizes Soundwave's true intentions. Optimus tosses one of the supersoldiers at Tarn, knocking him aside and giving Shadow Striker the opportunity to escape.

The Dinobots finally reach Hot Rod's coordinates in Cybertron's underworld, confident that the Decepticons will not find them there, and [[Repugnus (Cyberverse)|Repugnus]] leads them to where Hot Rod and the others are waiting. The group are all in agreement that they need to rescue Optimus, but Hot Rod points out they don't need to defeat Tarn's army; they just need to take the Cortex Helm so Tarn can't control them anymore. Wheeljack reveals they now have an advantage: while fleeing from the supersoldiers, he managed to pull a teleporter from one of their remains, and he should now be able to equip each Autobot with one of their own.

With six supersoldiers fighting him at once, Optimus is finally pushed to his limit and falls. Tarn is disappointed by Optimus's failure and prepares to put him out of his misery, but Windblade teleports in and blasts him away. She is followed in short order by Thunderhowl, [[Rack'n'Ruin (Cyberverse)|Rack'n'Ruin]] and Bumblebee, who knock the supersoldiers away and help Optimus to his feet. Tarn attempts to attack them, but they teleport out of the way before reappearing with an army of Autobots alongside them. Tarn isn't worried, though; not only are his troops stronger, but the Autobots now have to contend with the rest of the Decepticons, who have surrounded them. Tarn orders the Decepticons to attack, but is confused when they remain stationary. Shadow Striker emerges from the crowd and reveals that the Decepticons have unanimously decided the peace treaty still stands. Soundwave voices his agreement and prepares to fire on Tarn, but is restrained by the supersoldiers before being freed by [[Volcanicus (Cyberverse)|Volcanicus]]. Enraged, Tarn orders his troops to destroy them all, and the Autobots and Decepticons engage in a united assault on the enemy invaders.

The Cybertronians manage to fare well in the battle, working together with one another to take out many of the supersoldiers. As the two forces clash, Optimus and Hot Rod attempt to remove the Cortex Helm from Tarn's head, but he proves too powerful and manages to drive them off. Frustrated with the battle, Tarn summons even more of his forces, and they begin ripping the teleporters from the Autobots, quickly overwhelming all the combatants. With the opposition pinned down, Tarn mocks Optimus and controls his troops to charge their cannons, preparing to finish everyone off. Before he can fire, Hot Rod tackles him and attempts to pull the Cortex Helm off once more, but Tarn overpowers him and begins beating him senseless. Soundwave, having finally had enough, uses a sonic blast to free himself, and Tarn orders his troops to stand down so the two can have a final one-on-one confrontation.

[[Laserbeak (Cyberverse)|Laserbeak]] ejects and attacks Tarn's face, giving Soundwave the chance to approach Tarn and pin him down, finally pulling the Cortex Helm free. He places it upon his own head and uses its power, causing the supersoldiers to release their captives, but Tarn attacks him and pulls the Helm off. Moments before Tarn can don the helm once more, the severely damaged Soundwave uses the last of his strength to release a massive sonic blast that engulfs the arena and spreads for miles. As the light fades, the supersoldiers stand and drop their weapons. Seeing the Autobots' confusion, one of them reveals that the changes Soundwave made to their programming didn't just make them stop—Soundwave gave them the freedom to ''choose'' to stop. Everyone turns to congratulate Soundwave, only to find a smoldering crater where he and Tarn once stood, with no trace of either one left behind. The onlookers can only stare in silence as Laserbeak mourns the loss of his trusted friend.

Later at [[Maccadam's Old Oil House|Maccadam's]], Autobots, Decepticons, and reformed supersoldiers alike have gathered to hold a wake for Soundwave. Hot Rod eulogizes his friend and shares fond memories, and Optimus leads the others in a toast for their fallen ally. As the wake continues, Optimus steps out for some air, later joined by Bumblebee, Hot Rod and Windblade. Optimus smiles, commenting that for once, everything is good, and Bumblebee admits that after millions of years of war, he doesn't know what to do with himself now that it's all over, a sentiment the others agree with. Optimus knows, though: with the war over, Cybertron doesn't need a Prime anymore, so he'll be stepping away from leadership to simply enjoy the newfound peace. However, given how they've proven themselves, he's more than confident that the other three will be able to lead in his stead—as will Shadow Striker, now accompanied by her new partner Laserbeak, who has joined them outside. The other Autobots join Optimus in a group hug, while a reluctant Shadow Striker merely stands to the side until getting pushed into the hug by the arriving Dinobots. The group laugh as they look forward to the future of Cybertron together. A future where, at long last...

Life on peacetime [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] goes on, with [[Optimus Prime (Cyberverse)|Optimus Prime]] and his fellow leaders speaking at the dedication of the new [[Trypticon (Cyberverse)|Trypticon Plaza]]. However, the festivities are interrupted by the sudden appearance of a swirling vortex in the air. The flaming form of [[Astrotrain (Cyberverse)|Astrotrain]] emerges from the portal and crashes down in the plaza. As Optimus and the others rush to his side, the badly damaged Astrotrain gives the group a cryptic warning before succumbing to his wounds: something much worse than [[Megatron X (Cyberverse)|the other Megatron]] is coming.

Within [[Iaconus]], the leaders of both factions attempt to prepare for the invasion, though not knowing what's coming makes preparations difficult. The [[Dinobot (Cyberverse)|Dinobots]] are itching for a fight, but only succeed in annoying everyone they come across with their overenthusiasm. [[Wheeljack (Cyberverse)|Wheeljack]] and [[Sky-Byte (Cyberverse)|Sky-Byte]] raise the planetary shields as a precautionary measure, putting all of Cybertron on edge. However, it doesn't take long before the shield is broken, and a group of [[Decepticon supersoldier]]s teleport into the room—and immediately start beating the scrap out of each other. Confused, the others pull the fighters apart, and the most damaged among them takes the opportunity to finish off his aggressors, warning that everyone is in grave danger. Indeed, Optimus receives a transmission from [[Windblade (Cyberverse)|Windblade]], who confirms that more supersoldiers are appearing all over Cybertron, ruthlessly fighting one another. The damaged bot explains that his dimension's Megatron programmed them to be mindless soldiers that lived only for battle, but after his destruction, the supersoldiers slayed Astrotrain in retribution and now fight among themselves for leadership. While most of the supersoldiers are mindless and instinctive, the damaged one has evolved and given himself a name: [[Tarn (Cyberverse)|Tarn]]. Optimus insists they stop the conflict, hoping the rest can change like Tarn did, but the [[Decepticon]]s would rather see the invaders destroy each other. Thus, two plans are put into motion...

Wheeljack arms the [[Autobot]]s with various gadgets, intent on using them to pacify and disable the supersoldiers. The plan works well at first, with the devices managing to incapacitate the brawlers. However, the supersoldiers use their teleporters to free themselves from the traps before reemerging and beginning their street fight anew. With the plan deemed a failure, [[Soundwave (Cyberverse)|Soundwave]] decides it's time for the Decepticon approach. On his orders, the Decepticons open fire on their otherdimensional counterparts, but they prove impervious to their weapons. Even an attempt to drop a warhead on the supersoldiers is ineffective, as they simply teleport away from the blast. Optimus worries that they have run out of options, but Tarn offers a solution: the [[Cortex Helm]], a legendary relic that could be used to rewrite their programming and remove their need for dominance.

At Bumblebee's suggestion, he, Optimus, Soundwave, [[Shadow Striker (Cyberverse)|Shadow Striker]] and Tarn journey into the wilderness and find [[Thunderhowl (Cyberverse)|Thunderhowl]] to ask him about the Cortex Helm. Thunderhowl confirms it once belonged to his former master [[Onyx Prime]] and, with some persuasion, agrees to take them to its hiding place. The group travels by shuttle to a spot high above Cybertron, and are shocked when Thunderhowl orders them to land on the open air—even more so when they actually do so successfully. The ancient warrior places his sword in a hidden plinth to reveal the landmass on which they now stand: the [[Isle of Onyx Prime]]. As they traverse the isle, the group find themselves attacked by giant statues of [[Alpha Trion]]. Despite the statues' regenerative abilities, they are defeated when the group manages to force them over the edge, plummeting to the surface below. Venturing deeper in, the group nearly falls victim to the same fate when a walkway crumbles beneath them, barely managing to reach the other side in time.

At last, they reach the central chamber, sealed with a door that can only be unlocked by the [[Matrix of Leadership]]. As Prime does so, Tarn breaks away from the others and charges in, grabbing the Cortex Helm and placing it upon his head, much to everyone's shock. Tarn confirms he has removed the desire for dominance from his brethren's programming, but has instead replaced it with subservience to himself. Other supersoldiers appear and restrain the team, and Tarn announces that he will finish what Megatron couldn't, putting a permanent end to the Autobots. As Tarn issues his orders, supersoldiers all over the planet stop fighting and immediately turn their attention to the Autobots, opening fire.

With his machinations in motion, Tarn invites Soundwave and Shadow Striker to join his new regime, to which they reluctantly agree. Tarn then orders Shadow Striker to execute Bumblebee and Thunderhowl before departing with Optimus and Soundwave in tow. The three re-emerge in an empty [[Cube Arena|Cube arena]], and Tarn begins broadcasting to all of Cybertron. He announces himself as the new Decepticon leader, and that much like Megatron fought in the [[Gladiatorial combat|gladiator]] pits of old, Optimus will now have to fight a gauntlet of his supersoldiers for the right to challenge him. As Optimus begins his battle, Tarn declares that the [[Treaty of the Wall|peace treaty]] is now null and void, ordering the Decepticons to destroy any remaining Autobots. Some follow their new orders, while others like [[Dead End (Cyberverse)|Dead End]] and [[Wildwheel (Cyberverse)|Wildwheel]] can only bring themselves to watch. The Autobots attempt to fight back, but soon find themselves on the back foot and are forced to retreat. [[Hot Rod (Cyberverse)|Hot Rod]] sends coordinates to all the Autobots, ordering them to regroup there.

On the Isle of Onyx Prime, the supersoldiers hold Bumblebee and Thunderhowl over the precipice, waiting for Shadow Striker to finish them. Bumblebee chastises Shadow Striker for still holding onto her grudge against him, but she surprises him when she shoots the supersoldiers off the ledge instead. She orders the two to escape as she is confronted by another group of supersoldiers. In the arena, Optimus wins his first match, but Tarn begins sending increasing numbers of opponents to battle him at once. Elsewhere, Wheeljack, [[Arcee (Cyberverse)|Arcee]] and [[Clobber (Cyberverse)|Clobber]] find themselves cornered by a group of supersoldiers. Unable to watch his friend be hurt any longer, [[Lockdown (Cyberverse)|Lockdown]] steps in to help Clobber, giving them the opening they all need to get away. [[Jetfire (Cyberverse)|Jetfire]] finds himself under attack as well, but is saved by some timely intervention from [[Whirl (Cyberverse)|Whirl]], and they head to the rendezvous point.

Optimus's battle is beginning to take its toll on him, and though he attempts to reason with Tarn, pointing out how he has come to embody the sort of corrpution Megatron originally stood against, Tarn is unfazed and continues to throw more opponents at Optimus. Shadow Striker is brought before Tarn, who expresses disappointment at her decision to betray him. Shadow Striker berates Soundwave for serving under Tarn so easily, but Soundwave replies that he's simply following orders, just as he always did for [[Shockwave (Cyberverse)|Shockwave]]—and Shadow Striker at last realizes Soundwave's true intentions. Optimus tosses one of the supersoldiers at Tarn, knocking him aside and giving Shadow Striker the opportunity to escape.

The Dinobots finally reach Hot Rod's coordinates in Cybertron's underworld, confident that the Decepticons will not find them there, and [[Repugnus (Cyberverse)|Repugnus]] leads them to where Hot Rod and the others are waiting. The group are all in agreement that they need to rescue Optimus, but Hot Rod points out they don't need to defeat Tarn's army; they just need to take the Cortex Helm so Tarn can't control them anymore. Wheeljack reveals they now have an advantage: while fleeing from the supersoldiers, he managed to pull a teleporter from one of their remains, and he should now be able to equip each Autobot with one of their own.

With six supersoldiers fighting him at once, Optimus is finally pushed to his limit and falls. Tarn is disappointed by Optimus's failure and prepares to put him out of his misery, but Windblade teleports in and blasts him away. She is followed in short order by Thunderhowl, [[Rack'n'Ruin (Cyberverse)|Rack'n'Ruin]] and Bumblebee, who knock the supersoldiers away and help Optimus to his feet. Tarn attempts to attack them, but they teleport out of the way before reappearing with an army of Autobots alongside them. Tarn isn't worried, though; not only are his troops stronger, but the Autobots now have to contend with the rest of the Decepticons, who have surrounded them. Tarn orders the Decepticons to attack, but is confused when they remain stationary. Shadow Striker emerges from the crowd and reveals that the Decepticons have unanimously decided the peace treaty still stands. Soundwave voices his agreement and prepares to fire on Tarn, but is restrained by the supersoldiers before being freed by [[Volcanicus (Cyberverse)|Volcanicus]]. Enraged, Tarn orders his troops to destroy them all, and the Autobots and Decepticons engage in a united assault on the enemy invaders.

The Cybertronians manage to fare well in the battle, working together with one another to take out many of the supersoldiers. As the two forces clash, Optimus and Hot Rod attempt to remove the Cortex Helm from Tarn's head, but he proves too powerful and manages to drive them off. Frustrated with the battle, Tarn summons even more of his forces, and they begin ripping the teleporters from the Autobots, quickly overwhelming all the combatants. With the opposition pinned down, Tarn mocks Optimus and controls his troops to charge their cannons, preparing to finish everyone off. Before he can fire, Hot Rod tackles him and attempts to pull the Cortex Helm off once more, but Tarn overpowers him and begins beating him senseless. Soundwave, having finally had enough, uses a sonic blast to free himself, and Tarn orders his troops to stand down so the two can have a final one-on-one confrontation.

[[Laserbeak (Cyberverse)|Laserbeak]] ejects and attacks Tarn's face, giving Soundwave the chance to approach Tarn and pin him down, finally pulling the Cortex Helm free. He places it upon his own head and uses its power, causing the supersoldiers to release their captives, but Tarn attacks him and pulls the Helm off. Moments before Tarn can don the helm once more, the severely damaged Soundwave uses the last of his strength to release a massive sonic blast that engulfs the arena and spreads for miles. As the light fades, the supersoldiers stand and drop their weapons. Seeing the Autobots' confusion, one of them reveals that the changes Soundwave made to their programming didn't just make them stop—Soundwave gave them the freedom to ''choose'' to stop. Everyone turns to congratulate Soundwave, only to find a smoldering crater where he and Tarn once stood, with no trace of either one left behind. The onlookers can only stare in silence as Laserbeak mourns the loss of his trusted friend.

Later at [[Maccadam's Old Oil House|Maccadam's]], Autobots, Decepticons, and reformed supersoldiers alike have gathered to hold a wake for Soundwave. Hot Rod eulogizes his friend and shares fond memories, and Optimus leads the others in a toast for their fallen ally. As the wake continues, Optimus steps out for some air, later joined by Bumblebee, Hot Rod and Windblade. Optimus smiles, commenting that for once, everything is good, and Bumblebee admits that after millions of years of war, he doesn't know what to do with himself now that it's all over, a sentiment the others agree with. Optimus knows, though: with the war over, Cybertron doesn't need a Prime anymore, so he'll be stepping away from leadership to simply enjoy the newfound peace. However, given how they've proven themselves, he's more than confident that the other three will be able to lead in his stead—as will Shadow Striker, now accompanied by her new partner Laserbeak, who has joined them outside. The other Autobots join Optimus in a group hug, while a reluctant Shadow Striker merely stands to the side until getting pushed into the hug by the arriving Dinobots. The group laugh as they look forward to the future of Cybertron together. A future where, at long last...

Life on peacetime [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] goes on, with [[Optimus Prime (Cyberverse)|Optimus Prime]] and his fellow leaders speaking at the dedication of the new [[Trypticon (Cyberverse)|Trypticon Plaza]]. However, the festivities are interrupted by the sudden appearance of a swirling vortex in the air. The flaming form of [[Astrotrain (Cyberverse)|Astrotrain]] emerges from the portal and crashes down in the plaza. As Optimus and the others rush to his side, the badly damaged Astrotrain gives the group a cryptic warning before succumbing to his wounds: something much worse than [[Megatron X (Cyberverse)|the other Megatron]] is coming.

Within [[Iaconus]], the leaders of both factions attempt to prepare for the invasion, though not knowing what's coming makes preparations difficult. The [[Dinobot (Cyberverse)|Dinobots]] are itching for a fight, but only succeed in annoying everyone they come across with their overenthusiasm. [[Wheeljack (Cyberverse)|Wheeljack]] and [[Sky-Byte (Cyberverse)|Sky-Byte]] raise the planetary shields as a precautionary measure, putting all of Cybertron on edge. However, it doesn't take long before the shield is broken, and a group of [[Decepticon supersoldier]]s teleport into the room—and immediately start beating the scrap out of each other. Confused, the others pull the fighters apart, and the most damaged among them takes the opportunity to finish off his aggressors, warning that everyone is in grave danger. Indeed, Optimus receives a transmission from [[Windblade (Cyberverse)|Windblade]], who confirms that more supersoldiers are appearing all over Cybertron, ruthlessly fighting one another. The damaged bot explains that his dimension's Megatron programmed them to be mindless soldiers that lived only for battle, but after his destruction, the supersoldiers slayed Astrotrain in retribution and now fight among themselves for leadership. While most of the supersoldiers are mindless and instinctive, the damaged one has evolved and given himself a name: [[Tarn (Cyberverse)|Tarn]]. Optimus insists they stop the conflict, hoping the rest can change like Tarn did, but the [[Decepticon]]s would rather see the invaders destroy each other. Thus, two plans are put into motion...

Wheeljack arms the [[Autobot]]s with various gadgets, intent on using them to pacify and disable the supersoldiers. The plan works well at first, with the devices managing to incapacitate the brawlers. However, the supersoldiers use their teleporters to free themselves from the traps before reemerging and beginning their street fight anew. With the plan deemed a failure, [[Soundwave (Cyberverse)|Soundwave]] decides it's time for the Decepticon approach. On his orders, the Decepticons open fire on their otherdimensional counterparts, but they prove impervious to their weapons. Even an attempt to drop a warhead on the supersoldiers is ineffective, as they simply teleport away from the blast. Optimus worries that they have run out of options, but Tarn offers a solution: the [[Cortex Helm]], a legendary relic that could be used to rewrite their programming and remove their need for dominance.

At Bumblebee's suggestion, he, Optimus, Soundwave, [[Shadow Striker (Cyberverse)|Shadow Striker]] and Tarn journey into the wilderness and find [[Thunderhowl (Cyberverse)|Thunderhowl]] to ask him about the Cortex Helm. Thunderhowl confirms it once belonged to his former master [[Onyx Prime]] and, with some persuasion, agrees to take them to its hiding place. The group travels by shuttle to a spot high above Cybertron, and are shocked when Thunderhowl orders them to land on the open air—even more so when they actually do so successfully. The ancient warrior places his sword in a hidden plinth to reveal the landmass on which they now stand: the [[Isle of Onyx Prime]]. As they traverse the isle, the group find themselves attacked by giant statues of [[Alpha Trion]]. Despite the statues' regenerative abilities, they are defeated when the group manages to force them over the edge, plummeting to the surface below. Venturing deeper in, the group nearly falls victim to the same fate when a walkway crumbles beneath them, barely managing to reach the other side in time.

At last, they reach the central chamber, sealed with a door that can only be unlocked by the [[Matrix of Leadership]]. As Prime does so, Tarn breaks away from the others and charges in, grabbing the Cortex Helm and placing it upon his head, much to everyone's shock. Tarn confirms he has removed the desire for dominance from his brethren's programming, but has instead replaced it with subservience to himself. Other supersoldiers appear and restrain the team, and Tarn announces that he will finish what Megatron couldn't, putting a permanent end to the Autobots. As Tarn issues his orders, supersoldiers all over the planet stop fighting and immediately turn their attention to the Autobots, opening fire.

With his machinations in motion, Tarn invites Soundwave and Shadow Striker to join his new regime, to which they reluctantly agree. Tarn then orders Shadow Striker to execute Bumblebee and Thunderhowl before departing with Optimus and Soundwave in tow. The three re-emerge in an empty [[Cube Arena|Cube arena]], and Tarn begins broadcasting to all of Cybertron. He announces himself as the new Decepticon leader, and that much like Megatron fought in the [[Gladiatorial combat|gladiator]] pits of old, Optimus will now have to fight a gauntlet of his supersoldiers for the right to challenge him. As Optimus begins his battle, Tarn declares that the [[Treaty of the Wall|peace treaty]] is now null and void, ordering the Decepticons to destroy any remaining Autobots. Some follow their new orders, while others like [[Dead End (Cyberverse)|Dead End]] and [[Wildwheel (Cyberverse)|Wildwheel]] can only bring themselves to watch. The Autobots attempt to fight back, but soon find themselves on the back foot and are forced to retreat. [[Hot Rod (Cyberverse)|Hot Rod]] sends coordinates to all the Autobots, ordering them to regroup there.

On the Isle of Onyx Prime, the supersoldiers hold Bumblebee and Thunderhowl over the precipice, waiting for Shadow Striker to finish them. Bumblebee chastises Shadow Striker for still holding onto her grudge against him, but she surprises him when she shoots the supersoldiers off the ledge instead. She orders the two to escape as she is confronted by another group of supersoldiers. In the arena, Optimus wins his first match, but Tarn begins sending increasing numbers of opponents to battle him at once. Elsewhere, Wheeljack, [[Arcee (Cyberverse)|Arcee]] and [[Clobber (Cyberverse)|Clobber]] find themselves cornered by a group of supersoldiers. Unable to watch his friend be hurt any longer, [[Lockdown (Cyberverse)|Lockdown]] steps in to help Clobber, giving them the opening they all need to get away. [[Jetfire (Cyberverse)|Jetfire]] finds himself under attack as well, but is saved by some timely intervention from [[Whirl (Cyberverse)|Whirl]], and they head to the rendezvous point.

Optimus's battle is beginning to take its toll on him, and though he attempts to reason with Tarn, pointing out how he has come to embody the sort of corrpution Megatron originally stood against, Tarn is unfazed and continues to throw more opponents at Optimus. Shadow Striker is brought before Tarn, who expresses disappointment at her decision to betray him. Shadow Striker berates Soundwave for serving under Tarn so easily, but Soundwave replies that he's simply following orders, just as he always did for [[Shockwave (Cyberverse)|Shockwave]]—and Shadow Striker at last realizes Soundwave's true intentions. Optimus tosses one of the supersoldiers at Tarn, knocking him aside and giving Shadow Striker the opportunity to escape.

The Dinobots finally reach Hot Rod's coordinates in Cybertron's underworld, confident that the Decepticons will not find them there, and [[Repugnus (Cyberverse)|Repugnus]] leads them to where Hot Rod and the others are waiting. The group are all in agreement that they need to rescue Optimus, but Hot Rod points out they don't need to defeat Tarn's army; they just need to take the Cortex Helm so Tarn can't control them anymore. Wheeljack reveals they now have an advantage: while fleeing from the supersoldiers, he managed to pull a teleporter from one of their remains, and he should now be able to equip each Autobot with one of their own.

With six supersoldiers fighting him at once, Optimus is finally pushed to his limit and falls. Tarn is disappointed by Optimus's failure and prepares to put him out of his misery, but Windblade teleports in and blasts him away. She is followed in short order by Thunderhowl, [[Rack'n'Ruin (Cyberverse)|Rack'n'Ruin]] and Bumblebee, who knock the supersoldiers away and help Optimus to his feet. Tarn attempts to attack them, but they teleport out of the way before reappearing with an army of Autobots alongside them. Tarn isn't worried, though; not only are his troops stronger, but the Autobots now have to contend with the rest of the Decepticons, who have surrounded them. Tarn orders the Decepticons to attack, but is confused when they remain stationary. Shadow Striker emerges from the crowd and reveals that the Decepticons have unanimously decided the peace treaty still stands. Soundwave voices his agreement and prepares to fire on Tarn, but is restrained by the supersoldiers before being freed by [[Volcanicus (Cyberverse)|Volcanicus]]. Enraged, Tarn orders his troops to destroy them all, and the Autobots and Decepticons engage in a united assault on the enemy invaders.

The Cybertronians manage to fare well in the battle, working together with one another to take out many of the supersoldiers. As the two forces clash, Optimus and Hot Rod attempt to remove the Cortex Helm from Tarn's head, but he proves too powerful and manages to drive them off. Frustrated with the battle, Tarn summons even more of his forces, and they begin ripping the teleporters from the Autobots, quickly overwhelming all the combatants. With the opposition pinned down, Tarn mocks Optimus and controls his troops to charge their cannons, preparing to finish everyone off. Before he can fire, Hot Rod tackles him and attempts to pull the Cortex Helm off once more, but Tarn overpowers him and begins beating him senseless. Soundwave, having finally had enough, uses a sonic blast to free himself, and Tarn orders his troops to stand down so the two can have a final one-on-one confrontation.

[[Laserbeak (Cyberverse)|Laserbeak]] ejects and attacks Tarn's face, giving Soundwave the chance to approach Tarn and pin him down, finally pulling the Cortex Helm free. He places it upon his own head and uses its power, causing the supersoldiers to release their captives, but Tarn attacks him and pulls the Helm off. Moments before Tarn can don the helm once more, the severely damaged Soundwave uses the last of his strength to release a massive sonic blast that engulfs the arena and spreads for miles. As the light fades, the supersoldiers stand and drop their weapons. Seeing the Autobots' confusion, one of them reveals that the changes Soundwave made to their programming didn't just make them stop—Soundwave gave them the freedom to ''choose'' to stop. Everyone turns to congratulate Soundwave, only to find a smoldering crater where he and Tarn once stood, with no trace of either one left behind. The onlookers can only stare in silence as Laserbeak mourns the loss of his trusted friend.

Later at [[Maccadam's Old Oil House|Maccadam's]], Autobots, Decepticons, and reformed supersoldiers alike have gathered to hold a wake for Soundwave. Hot Rod eulogizes his friend and shares fond memories, and Optimus leads the others in a toast for their fallen ally. As the wake continues, Optimus steps out for some air, later joined by Bumblebee, Hot Rod and Windblade. Optimus smiles, commenting that for once, everything is good, and Bumblebee admits that after millions of years of war, he doesn't know what to do with himself now that it's all over, a sentiment the others agree with. Optimus knows, though: with the war over, Cybertron doesn't need a Prime anymore, so he'll be stepping away from leadership to simply enjoy the newfound peace. However, given how they've proven themselves, he's more than confident that the other three will be able to lead in his stead—as will Shadow Striker, now accompanied by her new partner Laserbeak, who has joined them outside. The other Autobots join Optimus in a group hug, while a reluctant Shadow Striker merely stands to the side until getting pushed into the hug by the arriving Dinobots. The group laugh as they look forward to the future of Cybertron together. A future where, at long last...

In deep, deep space, [[Optimus Prime (Animated)|Optimus Prime]] watches a history vid of the [[Great War (Animated)|Great War]], prompting [[Ratchet (Animated)|Ratchet]] to complain about him watching that "junk" when the other members of the crew need assistance. Prime wonders if they were designed for more than repairing [[space bridge]]s. The two 'Bots transform into their vehicle modes and head out into the asteroid field.

Outside, [[Bulkhead (Animated)|Bulkhead]], dangling from a high rock by his wrecking ball (and becoming quite queasy in the process), is freed by [[Bumblebee (Animated)|Bumblebee]], who also ends up taking a tumble. Bumblebee complains about the sheer amount of rocks blocking the space bridge node, and one is shattered unexpectedly by [[Prowl (Animated)|Prowl]]'s throwing star. Prime gives his troops a speech about teamwork (which Prowl moans at theatrically), but at that point the space bridge lights up, sending rocks and Autobots flying. Fancy footwork by Optimus saves each of his teammates from the debris, and a well-aimed grappling line shuts down the bridge. With his subordinates stunned at their leader's skills, Prime is forced to admit he trained at [[Autobot Academy|Cybertron's military academy]]. Bumblebee's query as to what the heck he's doing on a nowhere maintenance assignment is left unanswered as they notice something glowing in the rubble.

Prime clears away the debris to reveal a large, chest-like object. Ratchet is horrified and immediately demands they throw it back into the space bridge, but an alert from [[Omega Supreme (Animated)|Teletran-1]] announces the arrival of a signature consistent with the long-lost [[Decepticon]]s. Ratchet then insists they take the object and just get out of there post-haste.

On board their ship, Ratchet finally reveals what they've found: the [[AllSpark]], the source of all Transformer life that was lost centuries ago. Optimus, worried about the oncoming Decepticon signal, contacts the [[Elite Guard|Cybertron Elite Guard]] for help. After taking a bit of snark from [[Sentinel Prime (Animated)|Sentinel Prime]], Optimus reveals what they found, which shuts Sentinel up fast. Sentinel then puts the crew through to [[Ultra Magnus (Animated)|Ultra Magnus]], who tells Optimus Prime to stay put while they send reinforcements... and not to worry about that Decepticon thing. Optimus, considering this to be a really stupid move, orders the crew to start booking it out of there.

This proves wise, as the signal is indeed a Decepticon ship—a [[Nemesis (Animated)|command ship]], in fact. The identification markings are ones that Optimus and Ratchet recognize, meaning its commander can only be one person: [[Megatron (Animated)|Megatron]], leader of the Decepticons. On board the Decepticon ship, [[Starscream (Animated)|Starscream]] doubts the AllSpark is aboard the Autobot ship and declares Megatron a fool. [[Lugnut (Animated)|Lugnut]] denounces Starscream as a traitor, while [[Blackarachnia (Animated)|Blackarachnia]] calls Lugnut an idiot for his blind loyalty and [[Blitzwing (Animated)|Blitzwing]] just acts... well, crazy. The Decepticons continue to bicker at each other until Megatron enters, shutting up all of them. The Decepticons chase the Autobot ship, and Starscream volunteers to board them. Megatron quickly shoots that idea down, saying he'll tend to this matter personally. Just before he leaves, Starscream wishes his commander "luck" with a pat on the back... affixing a bomb to Megatron in the process.

Megatron makes his way to the Autobots' ship and begins to melt his way through its hull. Optimus uses external manipulator arms to grapple with Megatron, until the bomb detonates, sending the ship careening uncontrollably into a space bridge node, which explodes after they go through the gate. Starscream begins to make a speech declaring himself the new Decepticon leader, but the other three have abandoned ship, noting that the fireball from the space bridge explosion is only getting larger. Too late, Starscream realizes the trouble he's in...

An unknown distance away, the Autobot ship reappears above a [[Earth|small blue and green planet]]. Prime checks on his troops, but Megatron has gotten aboard, having survived the explosion, but at the cost of his right arm. Prime uses his grappling line to shut off the gravity, making it more difficult for Megatron to fight. All five Autobots face off against the Decepticon, but he's too strong (though Prowl does manage to cut off Megatron's damaged arm). Prime and Megatron both end up in the storage bay where the AllSpark is... and as the ship enters the atmosphere, Prime is able to blow the hatch and kick the screaming Megatron out of the ship.

On a small farm, a young boy hears a thud and runs to where something has landed in a not-too-distant field. He is shocked to find a robotic head staring lifelessly up at him.

Meanwhile, Prime orders his team into emergency stasis pods to prepare for a crash-landing. He manages to steer the ship away from the city below and gets to a stasis pod just before the ship plunges into [[Lake Erie]].

Fifty years later, [[Detroit]] is once again a thriving city, but instead of manufacturing automobiles, robots are the city's stock-in-trade. [[Isaac Sumdac (Animated)|Isaac Sumdac]] is talking to a public school class taking a tour of his facilities, which gets interrupted by Isaac's daughter, [[Sari Sumdac (Animated)|Sari Sumdac]], and her robot dog, [[Sparkplug (robot dog)|Sparkplug]]. As Sari is carted off to her lessons by a [[Tutor Bot|robot tutor]], Isaac shows the school kids a nanotech lab, just in time to witness a roach infused with microbots grow out of control and start consuming everything in sight. Isaac tries to keep things calm, but the monster bursts out of the lab...

The monster continues to grow, absorbing just about everything it touches to increase its size and power. In the process, it destroys a lot of the factory. [[Carmine Fanzone|Captain Fanzone]], the S.W.A.T team, the fire department, ambulances, and robot drones arrive, but the creature absorbs several of the responding vehicles, too. Fanzone uses a bazooka-type weapon and destroys the beast, despite Sumdac's objection. This protest proves well-founded, as the remnants of the creature start flowing back together again, save for one piece that drops into the nearby lake and works its way down to the Autobots' ship, its nanites seeking the absorbable technology there. It infiltrates via a small breach in the outer hull, but thankfully, the ship's intruder alert systems are functional and awaken the Autobots before any damage is done. Examining the situation, they decide to have Teletran-1 give them Earth forms so they can blend in and help out. A probe is launched into the chaos and scans various vehicles, including an ambulance, a police motorcycle, an armored personnel carrier, a fire truck, and [[Captain Fanzone's car]]. Everyone deploys except Ratchet, who remains behind to analyze the sample of alien material.

During the fight, Bulkhead and Bumblebee spot Sari trying to wrest her security key from Sparkplug's mouth. Mistaking which is owner and which is pet, they approach her, but Bulkhead's greeting only scares her away. She quickly gets nabbed by the monster, but Bumblebee saves her, earning her trust and friendship. Prowl attempts to take on the bug-slug by himself, against Prime's orders, and gets absorbed. Prime orders Ratchet to join them in battle to save Prowl, but the old veteran insists that finding a "cure" code to neutralize the nanites' programming makes more sense than coming out and getting trashed. A somewhat chastened Prime agrees, and Ratchet soon delivers the goods. However, the new program must be uploaded by direct contact—meaning from inside the monster. This means the smallest, fastest one of them has to do it. Bumblebee reluctantly takes on the task. The beast has been using some of Prowl's absorbed intelligence and comm link tech, though, so it knows what they're planning and is now smart enough to fight back. Despite this, Bumblebee succeeds in delivering the code, and the bug dissolves into a dusty shower of deactivated nanites. Prowl is soon uncovered, but he's suffered grave wounds and must be taken back to the Autobots' ship for repairs. Sari pesters Bumblebee to be taken along, and her new friend reluctantly agrees, since there's no time to make her go away quietly.

Once on board, Sari's refusal to stay still and quiet causes 'Bee some embarrassment. He quickly and discreetly ejects her into a ventilation port and joins the others. However, the port opens onto a shaft that takes Sari right to the chamber where the AllSpark is being kept. Curious, she touches it, and it reacts to her, sending its energies into her security card key and reconfiguring it into [[AllSpark Key|a key of another sort entirely]]. Prime finds her almost immediately thereafter, but with no time left to spare away from Prowl, he has to bring her back with him to the repair table. Ratchet's prognosis is bleak, but the [[AllSpark Key]] abruptly reacts, glowing and tugging her toward Prowl. Bumblebee, seeming to grasp what's happening, helps her onto the table, and as she approaches, her Key reshapes itself to fit into a slot on Prowl's chest. She inserts it, and with a burst of energy, the Autobot ninja is whole again. The Autobots then take Sari home and, after a brief misunderstanding, are made heroes and are even invited to a ceremony.

In outer space, Starscream sits aboard the damaged but functional Decepticon ship, babbling that he will find the AllSpark, even though he's been attempting it on his own for the last fifty solar cycles. The ship's computers then detect the traces of AllSpark-like energy in action, and Starscream learns where the Autobots are...

The Autobots are later seen trying to fit in. Bulkhead gets firsthand experience in traffic jams, some birds mistake Prowl for the statue of the {{w|Hazen S. Pingree|bald guy}} next to him, Bumblebee learns how organics fuel up, and Ratchet can't get a stasis nap without getting a dozen or so parking tickets. Optimus Prime remarks that the Autobots are programmed to respect life, which they always understood to stem from the AllSpark, but as organics are life, they must respect and protect them too. Optimus also expresses curiosity about how little organics are made. Sari's whispered explanation leaves him rather... shocked. The Autobots make a [[Autobot Earth Base|new home base]] out of a building Sari's dad got out of a merger, an abandoned auto factory that Bumblebee describes as a real fixer-upper—a REAL fixer-upper. All of a sudden, they get alerted to a fire. The Autobots proceed to douse the blaze and save its victims, no problem, unaware they are being watched by Starscream.

The next day, during the inauguration ceremony for the Sumdac [[Fully Automated Rapid Transit System]] (F.A.R.T.S., for short), Starscream enters Earth's atmosphere and takes on a group of fighter jets. He destroys all but one, which he scans. As the civilians and Autobots watch the aerial display of the [[Crimson Angels]], Isaac Sumdac notices there is an extra jet present that he didn't hire. That one jet then leaves the formation and streaks toward the ceremony platform, where it transforms into Starscream, who fires his null-ray cannons at the Autobots.

After a short fight, which the Autobots lose, Starscream knocks out Bumblebee and takes him, Isaac, the mayor, and Capt. Fanzone hostage in the F.A.R.T.S. train, flying it to the top of a very tall tower. He demands that the Autobots deliver the AllSpark if they want him to release the train car. The Autobots don't trust him, but don't want to risk human lives, so Sari offers a plan, but they ignore her. She continues to tell a sob story until the Autobots listen. The Autobots proceed with her plan, and Prowl and Sari fly up to the transit pod to rescue the hostages while the other Autobots keep Starscream busy. Once Starscream realizes what's happening, he takes a brief beating but recovers quickly. Starscream then throws the train—thus keeping his end of the deal—with Sari, Prowl, and Bumblebee on top of/in it. Between Bumblebee's agility and Prowl's thrusters plus Ratchet's magnets, Sari is rescued and the train lands without much damage. The Autobots then challenge Starscream to a friendly game of Keep Away, during which Starscream almost gets the AllSpark, but Bulkhead gets it instead, because he said he got it. A furious Starscream unleashes a devastating, prolonged (as in nearly 12 seconds) null-ray blast on the Autobots, briefly knocking them all senseless.

With the Autobots down, Starscream takes the AllSpark from Optimus and blows a couple of blocks of Detroit right off the map. Not ready to give up, Optimus climbs all the way up a building to get it back from Starscream, which Starscream doesn't see coming because he was too busy gloating. After a quick back-and-forth exchange of possessing it, both grab it at the same time. As they struggle, the AllSpark opens and emits a strange energy wave that blasts Starscream away.

The explosion has left Prime dangling precariously, and he takes a tremendous plummet to the pavement. He notes weakly that he now knows what it feels like to be a hero, then dies, but Sari uses the AllSpark Key to revive him.<ref>[[The many deaths of Optimus Prime|This is something of an Optimus Prime record]]: Dead after only three episodes, revived a mere 75 seconds later. Way to go.</ref> The Autobots later go about fixing up Detroit, earning the enduring gratitude of the citizenry. Professor Sumdac is also grateful, for the Autobots saved him and Sari, but he fears what will happen if the Autobots—not to mention the rest of the world—were to discover the source of his robotic empire.

Unseen by Sumdac, one of the [[Sensors|optics]] of his source of technology glows in a darkened room. Megatron still functions...

Despite the fact that nobody was asking the question, the ''[[Transformers Animated: The AllSpark Almanac II|AllSpark Almanac II]]'' guidebook provided the answer by revealing that there is also a version of [[Vector Sigma]] in the ''Animated'' universe that could also grant life.
* When Optimus kicks Megatron out of the docking tube, the sky around the ship is blue. However, the very next shot, in which Megatron falls to Earth outside the Sumdac barn, shows a nighttime scene.
*The train Starscream blasts from the tower falls toward the ground very, very slowly.
*When we rejoin Starscream, he states that he has been searching for the AllSpark for fifty ''solar'' cycles. In later episodes, a solar cycle is equivalent to a day and a ''stellar'' cycle is used for years. This is the only time a solar cycle has been used to reference years, so either Starscream entered some sort of temporal anomaly or someone messed up. Somewhere in time and space, Cheetor was among the Maximals left on their homeworld when [[Unicron]] attacked. Making their way through enemy hordes, he and [[Rhinox (ROTB)|Rhinox]] met up with their leader [[Apelinq (ROTB)|Apelinq]], and fellow Maximals [[Optimus Primal (ROTB)|Optimus Primal]] and [[Airazor (ROTB)|Airazor]], and expressed concern over several hostile new [[Scorponok (ROTB)|arrivals]] on their planet. As the situation grew dire, he witnessed Apelinq transfer leadership of the Maximals to Primal, as the former ordered them to retreat with the [[Transwarp Key]]. All Cheetor and the other Maximals could do was watch from their ship as [[Scourge (ROTB)|Scourge]] overpowered Apelinq, as they entered the Transwarp bridge towards a prehistoric Earth.

By the year [[1994]], Cheetor and the other Maximals had settled in the jungles of [[Peru]]. When [[Noah Díaz]] and [[Elena Wallace]] arrived searching for the other half of the Transwarp Key, Optimus Primal mobilized the Maximals, including Cheetor, to intercept them. As Primal had them cornered, the Autobot [[Mirage (Movie)|Mirage]] arrived in an attempt to attack Primal. This prompted Cheetor to pounce and tackle the Autobot as he screamed for his life. Before the situation could escalate any further, Airazor flew in and eased the tension, with Cheetor kindly apologizing to Mirage for scaring him.

Later, Cheetor and the other Maximals led the Autobots to meet the human tribe that had kept the Maximals safe on Earth, present the Autobots the other half of the Transwarp Key. The next day, the Autobots and Maximals were alerted to a battle on top of a mountain, only to find a distraught Primal and an offline Airazor, who was forced to be deactivated after Scourge's corruption rendered her mad. Cheetor was visibly distraught at the sight. They did not have time to mourn their fallen comrade, however, as Scourge had already activated the Transwarp Key from the nearby volcano, ready to bring Unicron in. Optimus Prime and Noah were not ready to give up, and convinced Primal to fight back, with the Maximal leader explaining how the Transwarp Key worked. In order to stop the process, the key would have to be shut down from the control panel, but someone would have sneak through the underground tunnels to avoid Scourge. Cheetor then corroborated that while the tunnels may be too small for Maximals, they would be big enough for humans, which meant Noah and Elena were the only ones who can shut the Key down.

Hoping to distract their enemies, Prime and Primal led their respective teams to face the [[Terrorcon (ROTB)|Terrorcon]] army head on, hoping to lead them away from Noah, Elena and Mirage working their way towards the control panel. As the Autobots and Maximals approached the Terrorcon army, Primal ordered Cheetor and Rhinox to [[Activation code|maximize]], making swift work of the Terrorcon drones. Eventually, the endless hordes of drones exhausted both the Autobots and Maximals. At one point, Cheetor was overwhelmed by several [[Sweep (ROTB)|Sweep]]s, but not before he spotted Noah being whisked away by [[Nightbird (ROTB)|Nightbird]]. He threw his spear at the Terrorcon, releasing Noah. As a second wave of Sweeps entered the battlefield, along with Unicron's [[Predacon (BW)|Predacon]] [[Scorponok (ROTB)|reinforcements]], [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] swooped in, turning the tide of the battle, and giving them a boost in morale. As Elena finally reached the control panel, and with Scourge being handled by Optimus, Cheetor and the rest of the Autobots and Maximals held back the army that was diverted towards the control panel, with Cheetor pouncing on a few Scorponok drones. Eventually, the control panel was destroyed, forcing Optimus to sacrifice himself to destroy it. Cheetor and the rest of the Maximals were then ordered to retreat.

Fortunately, Primal saved Prime and they escaped the ensuing fallout. Cheetor and the others then regrouped at a valley overlooking the volcano. Somewhere in time and space, Cheetor was among the Maximals left on their homeworld when [[Unicron]] attacked. Making their way through enemy hordes, he and [[Rhinox (ROTB)|Rhinox]] met up with their leader [[Apelinq (ROTB)|Apelinq]], and fellow Maximals [[Optimus Primal (ROTB)|Optimus Primal]] and [[Airazor (ROTB)|Airazor]], and expressed concern over several hostile new [[Scorponok (ROTB)|arrivals]] on their planet. As the situation grew dire, he witnessed Apelinq transfer leadership of the Maximals to Primal, as the former ordered them to retreat with the [[Transwarp Key]]. All Cheetor and the other Maximals could do was watch from their ship as [[Scourge (ROTB)|Scourge]] overpowered Apelinq, as they entered the Transwarp bridge towards a prehistoric Earth.

By the year [[1994]], Cheetor and the other Maximals had settled in the jungles of [[Peru]]. When [[Noah Díaz]] and [[Elena Wallace]] arrived searching for the other half of the Transwarp Key, Optimus Primal mobilized the Maximals, including Cheetor, to intercept them. As Primal had them cornered, the Autobot [[Mirage (Movie)|Mirage]] arrived in an attempt to attack Primal. This prompted Cheetor to pounce and tackle the Autobot as he screamed for his life. Before the situation could escalate any further, Airazor flew in and eased the tension, with Cheetor kindly apologizing to Mirage for scaring him.

Later, Cheetor and the other Maximals led the Autobots to meet the human tribe that had kept the Maximals safe on Earth, present the Autobots the other half of the Transwarp Key. The next day, the Autobots and Maximals were alerted to a battle on top of a mountain, only to find a distraught Primal and an offline Airazor, who was forced to be deactivated after Scourge's corruption rendered her mad. Cheetor was visibly distraught at the sight. They did not have time to mourn their fallen comrade, however, as Scourge had already activated the Transwarp Key from the nearby volcano, ready to bring Unicron in. Optimus Prime and Noah were not ready to give up, and convinced Primal to fight back, with the Maximal leader explaining how the Transwarp Key worked. In order to stop the process, the key would have to be shut down from the control panel, but someone would have sneak through the underground tunnels to avoid Scourge. Cheetor then corroborated that while the tunnels may be too small for Maximals, they would be big enough for humans, which meant Noah and Elena were the only ones who can shut the Key down.

Hoping to distract their enemies, Prime and Primal led their respective teams to face the [[Terrorcon (ROTB)|Terrorcon]] army head on, hoping to lead them away from Noah, Elena and Mirage working their way towards the control panel. As the Autobots and Maximals approached the Terrorcon army, Primal ordered Cheetor and Rhinox to [[Activation code|maximize]], making swift work of the Terrorcon drones. Eventually, the endless hordes of drones exhausted both the Autobots and Maximals. At one point, Cheetor was overwhelmed by several [[Sweep (ROTB)|Sweep]]s, but not before he spotted Noah being whisked away by [[Nightbird (ROTB)|Nightbird]]. He threw his spear at the Terrorcon, releasing Noah. As a second wave of Sweeps entered the battlefield, along with Unicron's [[Predacon (BW)|Predacon]] [[Scorponok (ROTB)|reinforcements]], [[Bumblebee (Movie)|Bumblebee]] swooped in, turning the tide of the battle, and giving them a boost in morale. As Elena finally reached the control panel, and with Scourge being handled by Optimus, Cheetor and the rest of the Autobots and Maximals held back the army that was diverted towards the control panel, with Cheetor pouncing on a few Scorponok drones. Eventually, the control panel was destroyed, forcing Optimus to sacrifice himself to destroy it. Cheetor and the rest of the Maximals were then ordered to retreat.

Fortunately, Primal saved Prime and they escaped the ensuing fallout. Cheetor and the others then regrouped at a valley overlooking the volcano. They acknowledged that Unicron had definitely survived the collapse of the Transwarp bridge, and he may return to destroy them. Despite this, Cheetor and the others remained steadfast, as they now had a newfound alliance between their factions, ready to take on Unicron, whenever he may return. {{storylink|Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (film)|Rise of the Beasts}}

Once the Decepticons had taken [[Vector Sigma]], Megatron sought to use the supercomputer to reprogram the [[AllSpark]] and have it birth a new generation of loyal Decepticons. When Bumblebee discovered this, he was brought before Megatron who sadistically tore out the scout's [[voice box]] to prevent him from reporting what he'd learned. {{storylink|Megatron Is My Hero}} Despite Megatron's best efforts, the Autobots did manage to learn of his plan, managing to seize the AllSpark and send it through a [[space bridge]]. {{storylink|Allspark (episode)|Allspark}}

In the year [[2007]], Megatron tracked the AllSpark to [[Earth]], and sent [[Slipstream (Cyberverse)|Slipstream]]'s [[Seeker (Cyberverse)|Seeker]] squad there to retrieve it. Catching wind of this intel, the Autobots on Cybertron sent [[Windblade (Cyberverse)|Windblade]] to retrieve the artifact first only for her to come across the missing Bumblebee. Upon learning that her friend was suffering from amnesia, the [[cityspeaker]] attempted to use a [[cortical psychic patch]] to help him make sense of his memories. Once Windblade had begun making headway in fixing Bumblebee's mind, the scout began to remember Megatron in the earliest days of his revolution causing him to idealize the Decepticon leader as a hero. When a battle broke out, Megatron first used his tank mode to shoot up the Autobots before Optimus Prime engaged him in melee combat, the Autobot managing to score a nasty gash on Megatron's right leg, prompting the tyrant to call Starscream for air support. Though his order went unheeded, Megatron managed to escape the battle and make it to the [[force field]]. After tossing Starscream around, he demoted him by making Slipstream the new leader of the [[Seeker (Cyberverse)|Seekers]]. In the bunker's control room, Shockwave activated his back-up plan of using [[planetary engine]]s to slam the moon into the Earth so they could find the AllSpark in the debris field. As he tried to get back up, a furious Starscream attacked him, firing all his [[missile]]s at point-blank range before beating the tyrant into [[stasis lock]], ordering that he be left behind when the control room was set to self-destruct. Surviving the explosion, though left heavily charred by it, Megatron made his way back to his flagship and enacted a swift and brutal vengeance against Starscream, ending with him firing the full might of his [[fusion cannon]] at the Seeker's back, deactivating him. Ordering his flagship down on an island, Megatron broadcasted a propaganda video to the human race regarding Starscream's demise, before he offered the position of [[second-in-command]] to whichever one of his troops brought him the head of Optimus Prime. When [[Clobber (Cyberverse)|Clobber]] and [[Lockdown (Cyberverse)|Lockdown]] brought him the bound [[Hot Rod (Cyberverse)|Hot Rod]], Megatron tried to use the Autobot as a bargaining chip with Optimus only for the youth to break free from his bonds and escape the ''Nemesis''. After every GroundBridge had been mapped, the AllSpark was located in [[Africa]], Megatron stepping through a portal to collect it. Finding not only that his troops had not accompanied him but Optimus waiting for him, Megatron briefly dueled his opposite before they were both greeted by Cheetor, Guardian of the AllSpark who subjected both leaders to the "the trials" to determine who was worthy of the AllSpark. After a failed knowledge trial, Cheetor granted each leader [[spark armor]], Megatron's formed from a helicopter, and they came to blows. Megatron eventually got the upper hand, pinning Optimus down for execution only for the Prime to hold him at gunpoint, being willing to kill them both. As this happened, no one noticed a still alive Starscream sneak in and steal the AllSpark until it was too late. Though he managed to save face with Optimus, Megatron returned to the ''Nemesis'' to commence a search for Starscream. {{storylink|Trials}}

As Shockwave tried to locate the missing Vector Sigma, the ''Nemesis'' came under attack from the Autobots, Megatron sending out his entire [[drone]] force to meet them. As Megatron dueled Optimus on the hangar deck, Cheetor loudly announced that the AllSpark was not on the ship, forcing Megatron to reveal the truth and cursing Cheetor, whose lunar GroundBridge had healed Starscream's otherwise fatal injuries. {{storylink|Dark Birth}}

Agreeing to peace talks, Megatron had the ''Nemesis'' return to [[Mount St. Hilary]] for negotiations. Soon afterwards, a still alive Sky-Byte arrived, recounting the gloriousness of the civilizations he'd destroyed before requesting the Decepticons' aid to destroy Jetfire (offering Megatron the head). Though an appealing prospect to Megatron, he denied to get involved in favour of continuing their search for the AllSpark. Jetfire soon returned, now clad in spark armor, and abducted Megatron. When Optimus called to reveal he'd had a similar encounter with Sky-Byte, Megatron directed everyone to meet a colosseum. Encouraging the two arch-enemies to settle their feud once and for all, Megatron amusedly watched Jetfire and Sky-Byte kill each other even as their fight unearthed magma deposits. When Jetfire got the upper hand, Megatron encouraged the Autobot to strike the killing blow only for him to retreat back to the ''Ark'' so that Optimus' wounds could be tended to. When Sky-Byte led the Decepticons back to the GroundBridge nexus, Megatron again found the Autobots had beaten him there before an AllSpark empowered Starscream arrived, arresting everyone's motor functions and forcing them to bow before him. Unimpressed by the Seeker's pettiness, Megatron openly mocked his former second's incompetence and failing streak before the Seeker began extracting all their [[spark]]s. Salvation came when Optimus Prime unleashed the [[Matrix of Leadership]] on Starscream, blasting the AllSpark out of him. Quick to recover, Megatron retrieved the artifact only to be assaulted by the now feral scraplets, losing his hold on it. Megatron soon found himself fighting Grimlock, with their duel destabilizing the chamber. Though Megatron managed to initially kick the Dinobot away and make a last-ditch effort to get the AllSpark he was blindsided by the recovered Grimlock who sent him hurtling down a chasm. {{storylink|I Am The Allspark}}

Detecting the launch of several [[Autobot shuttle]]s, Megatron ordered the ''Nemesis'' to meet them, deploying several [[Decepticon scout ship]]s to engage the smaller crafts. Though the Autobot ships were quickly destroyed, the AllSpark was not found in their debris field. Fortunately for the Decepticons, Sky-Byte had seen through the ruse and launched a one-bot attack on the ''Ark'', giving the ''Nemesis'' enough time to intercept. Ordering the ''Ark'' destroyed, Megatron unleashed the full might of the ''Nemesis'' on its Autobot counterpart only for Cheetor to heal it with the AllSpark allowing the nimbler ship to slip past. To prevent the Autobots from entering Earth's [[space bridge]], Shockwave used a hard-light [[hologram]] to simulate its destruction, the ''Ark'' instead rocketing off into deep space. Pleased with Shockwave's ploy, Megatron ordered the ''Nemesis'' through the portal and to Cybertron. {{storylink|Escape From Earth}}

Megatron eventually managed to convert the [[Threshold of the Well]] into his personal fortress and capture [[Chromia (Cyberverse)|Chromia]], forcing her to send out a false distress call to the ''Ark'' by threatening to offline [[Perceptor (Cyberverse)|Perceptor]]. When the Autobot ship emerged from Cybertron's space bridge, Megatron praised the Autobot femme before rallying his troops for battle. {{storylink|The Crossroads}} {{storylink|Battle For Cybertron I}}

As the ''Ark'' entered the atmosphere, Megatron ordered it destroyed via a [[laser snare]] before the Autobots revealed themselves to still be alive, having anticipated the attack. Ordering the whole of his army into action, Megatron led the charge in the final battle of the Great War, initially providing artillery with [[Alpha Strike]] before he squared off against Optimus. {{storylink|Battle For Cybertron II}} Optimus eventually managed to push past Megatron, only for the Prime to discover the scraplet trap that Megatron had laid. However, the Autobots managed to push past the drones, just as they both destroyed Vector Sigma and returned the AllSpark to Cybertron's core. Though Optimus declared this the end of the Great War, Megatron refused to surrender, and ordered Shockwave to destroy the AllSpark. While Shockwave was able to corrupt the artefact, Cheetor sacrificed himself to re-purify it, bringing life and peace back to Cybertron. This would not be the end of Megatron, however. When the [[Quintesson]]s invaded Cybertron, Megatron was among the Transformers captured and subjected to their virtual reality as his spark was drained. Within the simulation, Megatron was Grand Marshal of a parade that celebrated his victory over the Autobots. When the group found the drive, they were confronted by the Scientist whom Megatron promptly shot dead only for the alien to reveal multiple backup bodies. When flipping down the piece with the alternate head while attaching the Spark Armor, a spring-loaded gimmick is activated causing the propeller to spin and two additional arms to flip out, one with a built-in mace and the other you can attach the included Fusion Cannon to. This configuration causes the original robot arms to dangle awkwardly at the sides, but this can be remedied by bending the arms at the elbows to a 45-degree angle and rotating the lower arms until the fists point straight towards the back, streamlining the look of the armored robot mode. Much like the later Deluxe Class figure below, Megatron himself has a removable Fusion Cannon.

When Cheetor rebooted, he was found by the [[Fin]]s, one of the three factions that comprised what was left of the [[Sharkticon (species)|Sharkticon]] race. After fighting off a few of them, Cheetor found himself drafted by the group to aid in securing the [[Park]]. Upon arrival, he reunited with Bumblebee and Hot Rod, having both been drafted into the [[Tail]]s and the [[Snout]]s respectively where Cheetor encouraged the Sharkticons to celebrate their commonalities and work together. And they did just that by turning on the Autobots, sending the three running back to the ''Ark''. The Monsterbots guided the duo to the Well where they found Shockwave waiting for them. When Cheetor awoke, the two friends returned the Allspark to its resting point and brought their planet back to life only for Shockwave to extract his own spark and use it to try and corrupt the Allspark.

Realizing what he had to do, Cheetor bade a fond goodbye to Bumblebee and sacrificed his own spark to purify the Allspark and ensure the future of the Cybertronian race. As a result, it cannot assume the slightly splayed stance that it is shown in on the back of the package. It also has a flip-out anchor weapon which snaps into place in ship mode and unlocks by changing to armor mode. In addition, the armor features multiple 5 mm post holes, including the hands, shoulders, elbows, and one on the left forearm. While Cheetor himself sports an Autobrand on his right shoulder, the Sea Fury has a [[Maximal]] sigil on its prow. The Sea Fury is almost identical to Bumblebee's Ocean Storm, differing only in the [[repaint|color of the paint]] and the new helmet. The bridge and conning tower are only held in by friction, and as such may pop out during play. The clip that locks into Cheetor's waist can be rather tight, but can be disconnected by lifting the plate up rather than trying to pull it forward.

==Gameplay==
''Galactic Trials'' is a "battle-race" game that mixes arcade-style racing with third-person shooter mechanics. Players can choose from 11 playable characters and 10 battle-race tracks, attempting to defeat their opponents by destroying them and/or reaching the finish line first. Characters automatically change modes at predetermined points on each track, switching between high speed racing in vehicle mode and combat in robot mode. By performing techniques such as drifting and boosting during race segments, players will charge up [[energon]] that can be expended to trigger special moves in combat segments. Between races, players can equip different weapons and up to three relics, which grant additional perks during gameplay.

The game features two primary modes. The single-player Galactic Trials mode features level-based progression, through which players will obtain new relics, as well as unlock additional playable characters and skins. In Arcade mode, up to two players can compete locally in quick races, as well as enter special location-based tournaments. Each character has a "Legacy" skin and a gold-colored "Prestige" skin.

==Achievements==
When completing various goals and tasks during the game, the player will be rewarded as part of their console of choice's meta-goal system. Players can earn up to 22 Trophies on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and 21 Achievements on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The PlayStation versions' trophies come in four types: Bronze, which represent easier tasks and are worth the least experience; Silver, which are awarded for challenges of mid-level difficulty; Gold, which are given for harder tasks and worth more experience; and Platinum, the highest-level trophy unlocked only after earning all of a game's other trophies. On the Xbox versions, each achievement has a Gamerscore value that adds to the player's total Gamerscore across all games played; up to 1000 Gamerscore can be earned in ''Expedition''. These achievements can also be earned in the PC version as part of the Steam interface, but lack the individual values and weights from the console versions.
