Even if I knew how to make that ridiculous ass backwards R without going into the character map, I think TRU themselves write it as "Toys"R"Us" with inexplicable quotation marks instead of apostrophes surrounding the R. Signal Flare and his fellow Omnicons are upgraded [[Mini-Con|Mini-Cons]]. He and [[Skyblast (Energon)|Skyblast]] guarded [[Over-Run (Armada)|Over-Run's]] access point in the Mini-Con village [[Six-Beta]]. Later, they were sent by Over-Run to assist [[Optimus Prime (Armada)|Optimus Prime]] in repelling the Horsemen of [[Unicron]]. They then went to [[Earth]] to stop [[Scorponok (Energon)|Scorponok]] and his [[Terrorcon (Energon)|Terrorcons]] in Australia.

Proving to be a bit too out of control to base near human
cities, they were sent to the site of a new energon well in the Yukon.
They were captured by [[Cyclonus (Armada)|Snow Cat]]
while blowing off some steam, who attempted to rewrite their
programming to turn them into Decepticons. Subconsciously guided by the
snarky floating advice-giving head of Over-Run, they managed to break
free by combining their powers. More teamwork led to Snow Cat's defeat,
and a better understanding of their abilities.

On a mission with [[Kicker Jones]]
to the Black Sea in Turkey to locate a new energon well underwater,
Signal Flare create the energon bubble that protected Kicker from the
crushing pressure of the deep sea. But they were attacked by [[Tidal Wave|Mirage]] (who had previously butted heads with them as Tidal Wave), [[Slugslinger (Energon)|Slugslinger]] and [[Sharkticon (Energon)|Sharkticon]],

Fresh from their escape from the not-destroyed ''[[Ark (G1)|Ark]]'', the [[Decepticon|Decepticons]] open fire upon Sunstorm. Their attacks have no effect, as Sunstorm barely notices the blaster fire while preaching his dogma. Uninterested in Sunstorm's proclamations of salvation, the Combaticons reassemble into Bruticus. Sunstorm even laughs at the monstrous combiner, when out of nowhere Bruticus was blasted in the head by the [[Orion|''Autobot Supply Vessel Orion'']].Seeking more prey and pissed that they interfered with his affairs, Sunstorm attacks the [[Orion|''Autobot Supply Vessel Orion'']] as it descends. Seeing even the ''Orion'' crippled by Sunstorm, Starscream characteristically decides to retreat and Sunstorm chases him, leaving the ''Orion'' to make an extremely rough landing into the terrain below.

On [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], Prowl and Ironhide monitor some unsuccessful training exercises in which a team of new Autobot recruits were bested in combat by a trio of training droids. The two check up on [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]], who Hoist has in a [[CR chamber]] to undergo repairs after having the [[Matrix of Leadership]] torn out of him by [[Shockwave (G1)|Shockwave]]. Ultra Magnus walks in, fully functional and back in his armor. Prowl then receives a communication from the Protectobots, who have discovered the ruins of Shockwave's lab from [[Night of the Combaticons|last issue.]]

Sunstorm chases Starscream beneath the surface of the ocean to the ''[[Nemesis (G1)|Nemesis]]'', where Starscream readies one of his contingency plans. For safety, he has the ship's computer do a security scan for any intruders, and the scan returns negative. But despite this scan, Starscream is ambushed by Sunstorm, who reveals that the two are actually siblings.

Brawn beats into a fallen Bruticus, while Ratchet expresses some regret over having had to destroy The ''Ark''. Bumblebee tries to get Ratchet to look on the upside—the ''Orion'' is here and the Powerdashers will be able to repair it, so that it will function as the [[Earth]]-Autobots' new base. Cliffjumper and Brawn remind everybody how suspicious it is that the human element to the conflict has remained uncharacteristically quiet—but they're unaware that their very conversation happens to be monitored by a black helicopter from a human military.

Starscream recounts to Sunstorm how his crew of Decepticons was able to take control of [[Sky Lynx (G1)|Sky Lynx]] and scan new alt modes for the Combaticons. Things were going fairly well until Sunstorm arrived and threw a monkey wrench into Starscream's plans. Sunstorm justifies his actions by explaining how he's on a holy quest from the [[Oracle]] to lead all Transformers to Heaven. Starscream mocks Sunstorm's gospel, and when Sunstorm gets angry, he notices the larger figure standing behind him.

Hours later, the Powerdashers board back onto the Orion, having repaired much of the damage done in the crash. Bumblebee and Ratchet get ready to board the ship after activating its stealth mode, when they're attacked by Starscream and his [[Jetfire (G1)|new bodyguard]].{{-}}

[[Bruticus (G1)|Bruticus]] and [[Defensor (G1)|Defensor]] fight it out, when [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]] and the [[Sweep|Sweeps]] arrive, but are driven off by Rodimus, [[Kup]], and [[Sky Lynx (G1)|Sky Lynx]]. However, instead of thanking the [[Autobot|Autobots]] for saving many lives, the government of Japan is very upset, saying that the Autobots frightened people and ruined business (thankless bipeds). When [[Marissa Faireborn]] arrives and brings more problems to Rodimus, the [[Prime (rank)|Autobot leader]] loses patience, [[Transformation|transforms]], and drives off. Kup explains that Rodimus is merely strained under the burden of command, much like [[Optimus Prime (G1)|Optimus Prime]] was in his early days as leader, and Marissa decides to follow him, to let him have someone to talk to.

Meeting up on the highway, however, the two are attacked by [[Wildrider]] and [[Dead End (G1)|Dead End]], who knock Marissa into a lake and force Rodimus off a cliff. When they inspect Rodimus, they find the Matrix. Realizing that [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]] will be ''really'' happy, they steal it and return to [[Chaar]]. In his throne room, Galvatron inserts the Matrix into his cannon, but instead of making it even more powerful like he had hoped, visions of the [[Ancient Autobots]] (including Optimus Prime himself) seep out of the barrel and demand that Galvatron return the Matrix. Galvatron orders [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]] to destroy the Matrix, believing it better to be destroyed if the Decepticons can't have it. Scourge, however, inserts the Matrix into himself, and becomes more powerful... but at a startling price.

Meanwhile, the Autobot leader wakes up, to learn that he's reverted to Hot Rod. [[Springer (G1)|Springer]] and [[Ultra Magnus (G1)|Ultra Magnus]] argue that they should go after the Decepticons, but Hot Rod feels that the Matrix isn't worth it, and jets off. Real smart idea, Roddy. On Chaar, Scourge challenges Galvatron, defeating him and Cyclonus easily, before leading the Decepticons off to Earth. Galvatron and Cyclonus still function, and set off in pursuit in the [[Decepticon mothership]].

On Earth, Hot Rod, while watching a martial arts class, gets some perspective and some wisdom from the Kendo instructor, and realizes that he needs to get the Matrix back. Meanwhile, Scourge arrives in Japan with his forces, tossing around the Autobots. Broadside tosses him to the ground and he frightens an elderly woman. One of the Kendo students comes to her aid, attacking Scourge with a sword and he begins to chase the pair. He corners them in a blind alley, only for Hot Rod to arrive. Shocked at the changes the Matrix has wrought in Scourge, Hot Rod defeats the Decepticon and reclaims the Matrix, becoming Rodimus Prime once more. Galvatron and Cyclonus find a less powerful, and very frightened, Scourge. And they are none too happy with him...

As the Decepticons retreat, Rodimus realizes that he must deal with his missing part, as have those who came before him. Kup reminds him that no matter who carries the Matrix, he will retain that part forever.

==Synopsis==
All Transformers fight to control their savage inner selves, but most control them with emotional dampers. However Slag was built without these and so constantly struggles to keep it at bay. Occasionally he loses the struggle...

Swoop, Sludge and Snarl struggle desperately to keep Slag under control as Grimlock tells them to keep him quiet. For Grimlock is showing Optimus Prime around Autobot Earthbase and if he discovers Slag's breakdown then it's dangerous for the [[Dinobot (G1)|Dinobot]]. The last time it happened was four million years ago on Cybertron when he wiped out his entire unit before the other Dinobots could get to him.

Grimlock insists on giving Prime a formal tour to prevent him finding out, whilst the others do their best. Prime keeps hearing minor noises, forcing Grimlock to come up with explanations. Luck plays its part too, distracting Prime at key moments. Eventually Slag transforms and chases the other Dinobots through the base and burns their backsides.

Soon Slag collapses, the rage solved, whilst Prime heads off to settle down to business. Swoop expresses his relief that this only happens every four million years.

She has a very intense... rivalry with Coby.

During the battle to save [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] from the [[Unicron Singularity]], Lori befriended [[Override (Cybertron)|Override]] (Override being "Big Sister" and Lori "Little Sister") and [[Scourge (Cybertron)|Scourge]], leaders of [[Velocitron]] and the [[Jungle Planet]]. On [[Athenia]], [[Arcee (G1)|Arcee]], [[Wheelie]] and [[Daniel Witwicky|Daniel]] sadly reflect on the destruction of [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]] and the departure of [[Hot Rod|Rodimus Prime]]. By and by, [[Chromedome]] arrives to inform them that [[Fortress Maximus (G1)|Fortress]]'s party is about to start, and they join the other Autobots there just as Fortress and [[Spike Witwicky|Spike]] announce the joint Autobot-human construction of the [[Sun|solar]]-energy-gathering satellite, [[Solar-1]]. With that, the revelry begins, as [[Hardhead (G1)|Hardhead]] sings karaoke to music played by [[Blaster (G1)|Twincast]], Wheelie over-energizes on [[Energon (G1)|energon]] wine, and Arcee and Chromedome dance.

Meanwhile, on [[Chaar]], [[Soundwave (G1)|Soundblaster]] reports to the Decepticons that a search has turned up no trace of [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]], who vanished during the explosion that destroyed Cybertron. Suddenly, the room is clouded with darkness, and a silhouetted figure that seems to be Galvatron appears. [[Cyclonus (G1)|Cyclonus]] and [[Scourge (G1)|Scourge]] rush to greet him, but Soundblaster holds them back, having proven with a voice pattern analysis that it is not Galvatron - in truth, the shadowy Decepticon is Scorponok, who tells them that Galvatron is still alive, and has appointed him as leader in his place while he recovers.

Some time later, on Earth, the [[Headmaster (technology)|Headmasters]], [[Trainbot|Trainbots]], Daniel and Wheelie are all present for the launch of the Solar-1, but predictably, the Decepticons are spying on the whole affair, and [[Ratbat (G1)|Ratbat]] and Soundblaster report back to Scorponok with news of the impending launch. Tired of constantly being shown up by him, Cyclonus and Scourge head to Earth and recruit the [[Predacon (G1)|Predacons]] for an attack on the launch site, so that they can destroy the Solar-1 and improve their standing in Scorponok's eyes. Their attack is anything but subtle, and they are met with resistance in the form of [[Raiden]], who battles [[Predaking]] while the Headmasters take on Cyclonus and Scourge. The Solar-1 is successfully launched and immediately begins absorbing energy, but this is just what Scorponok desires, as he arranges for the Headmasters and [[Triple Changer|Triple Changers]] to steal it. With the Autobots unable to mount a counterattack thanks to [[Sixshot]] keeping them occupied, the Solar-1 is captured by the Decepticons and spirited away.

A little later, Fortress traces Solar-1's signal, and discovers that the Decepticons have moved it into the vicinity of the planet [[Zarak (planet)|Zarak]], a world hidden within a dark nebula. The Autobots track it down, but find that it is defended by the Decepticon Headmasters. As the two sides clash, the energy stored within the satellite is beamed down to planet Zarak, where, within a mysterious facility, a giant robotic body absorbs it. Warning the Autobots that they will destroy Solar-1 telepathically if they try to move it back to Earth, the Decepticons make a retreat, and the Autobot Headmasters realise that they have no other course of action but to destroy the satellite themselves. After doing so, they return to Athenia, where Spike assures them that they did the right thing, and that relations between the Autobots and Earth will remain undamaged.

==Synopsis==
Both the [[Autobot]]s and [[Decepticon]]s are frantic to figure out what happened to the [[Mini-Con]]s. Prime, as always, has the answer: they've gone to the [[Moon (moon)|Moon]]. Sparkplug told him that when they fled [[Cybertron (planet)|Cybertron]], their ship crashed into the Moon and broke in two, with only a small part of it falling to [[Earth]].

Up on the Moon, the captured mini-Cons sit behind a forcefield in a holding cell, wondering who brought them. Leader-1 speculates that they've been deliberately removed from the battle between the Autobots and Decepticons because, as the sum total of Earthbound Mini-Cons, they represent the catalyst for the entire war. Their questions are answered soon, however, with the arrival of the [[Destruction Mini-Con Team|Destruction Team]], led by Dualor.

Dualor had them locked up because he wasn't sure how they'd react after being forced off of Earth. He leads Sparkplug, Leader-1, and Runway throughout the massive base that they've been constructing for the last million years. He explains that they've long been preparing for the eventuality that the Decepticons would come after them, and that their base is thoroughly defended. They too received the signal that emanated from Earth when Rad awoke Sparkplug and the [[Street Action Mini-Con Team|Street Action Team]] (issue #3), but Dualor confesses that he hesitated in bringing them back, thus allowing the war to begin anew. Sparkplug asks him what the difference between them and the Decepticons is, as both groups took them against their will. Dualor responds, "if you can't see the difference between this and living at Optimus Prime's beck and call, or being Megatron's slave, then you've been brainwashed more thoroughly than I realized."

Back at [[Silver Ridge]], Thrust arrives from Cybertron through a [[space bridge]] portal, carrying a pair of thrusters for Megatron. The Decepticons take off into space, leaving Demolishor behind to guard their base. They soon arrive at the Moon, where they run into the considerable defenses that the Mini-Cons have employed: floating mine fields, missile launchers, and auto-turrets all do their work, grounding the Decepticon attackers.

Meanwhile, in the Autobot base, Optimus Prime watches via Laserbeak as Hot Shot and Red Alert break into the Decepticon base, his finger hovering over the button that will activate a space bridge portal of their own.

Back on the Moon, Sparkplug asks if they'll be safe. Dualor assures them that they're completely covered by moonrock, reinforced [[tritanium]], and forcefields, and that the Decepticons will never be able to break through. His words prove true, and the Decepticons fall back and regroup. Drill Bit wonders if they'll show the same gusto in fighting off the Autobots, and Dualor responds that they've got a trump card: Rad has been strapped into one of the mines!

The battle of [[Praxus-Delta|Praxus-Delta]] would be their last; Optimus Prime hired the Wreckers to bolster the Autobot ranks, but every Wrecker save Rodimus was destroyed. Rodimus believed in little else but his business contracts, and so despite his heavy losses he continued to fight for the Autobots. Eventually, when a spot on the roster "opened up," Prime made him a member of the elite [[Seeker|Seeker]] trio.<ref>_</ref>

However, it didn't take long to discover that this Cliffjumper was not [[Cliffjumper (Shattered Glass)|the Cliffjumper Rodimus thought he was]], but a doppleganger. As Cliffjumper lied in smoking ruin, Rodimus laughed with the others at his misfortune. The [[Seeker|Seekers]] were ordered to drop Cliffjumper in the [[Rad Zone|Rad Zone]]. This backfired when Cliffjumper fell in with the Decepticons, who quickly mounted an attack. Rodimus and the other Seekers were ordered to destroy the Decepticon armies before they could destroy the launching platform to the [[Ark (Shattered Glass)|Ark]], a starship that would lead the Autobots to other planets to conquer. While Isaac went to sleep off his scare and Bulkhead went to get help with reinforcing the tower's structural support for the new space bridge, the fallen object fused together. By the time Bulkhead returned with [[Mixmaster (Animated)|Mixmaster]] and [[Scrapper (Animated)|Scrapper]], who were beginning to come around to the idea of becoming [[Autobot]]s, Dirt Boss had come to life. Pulled up by Scrapper, the tiny terror immediately used his motor-control power on Scrapper to make him hit himself repeatedly. The three far larger robots were quickly cowed into submission, and Dirt Boss revealed his plan to hijack oil shipments to increase his power base in the city... a plan the two Constructicons quickly got on-board with.

Leading the two on an overnight crime spree (and occasionally beating the Constructicons for drinking the profits), he revealed his plan to torch the [[Fossil Fuel]] plant, forcing the city to come to him for oil. Bulkhead attempted to stop them before they left, but that didn't go too well. Bulkhead was dragged to the fuel plant, and eventually Dirt Boss used his motor-control on him, intending him to start a fire that would destroy the plant (sacrificing the bound Mixmaster in the process). The rest of the Autobots arrived, but a stray spark set the spilled oil ablaze anyway. Dirt Boss took control of Mixmaster and Scrapper, who had become stuck together in the fight, and rode them to the top of the oil tower. Fortunately, Sumdac had followed them, carrying the [[plasma dynamic thruster]] from their space bridge. Bulkhead reprogrammed the device and transported the oil tanker -and the three Constructicons- to just offshore of [[Dinobot Island (Animated)|Dinobot Island]] just before it exploded. {{storylink|Three's a Crowd}}

As Megatron descends to ground level, Optimus, Prowl and Bulkhead look on in disbelief. As he lands, Bulkhead takes point, launching his wrecking ball, but Megatron calmly slices it off, before backhanding Bulkhead into a nearby building. Prowl then attacks, but his throwing stars are easily deflected, and he finds himself on the defensive, dodging Megatron's swords. Taking cover behind a bridge support, he manages to avoid them, but Megatron's attacks destroy it, and two children are nearly crushed under the falling rubble, saved only by Optimus borrowing "a move from the Bumblebee play book", using a combination of his wheels and ax to dash forward and snatch the children up. Meanwhile Prowl is pinned under Megatron's foot, who draws a sword, ready to take revenge for Prowl slicing off the remains of his arm fifty years ago. Optimus saves him by using a combination of his grappler and his ax to knock the sword from Megatron's grasp. The two leaders face off, but Megatron simply blocks Prime's blow, and kicks him away. As he reaches for his dropped sword, Optimus launches a grappler, tripping him. Megatron follows up by snapping the grappler's line, and using it to swing Optimus into the side of a building.

In the tower, Blitzwing wants to join the fight, but Lugnut won't allow him to interfere in Megatron's business. As the two Decepticons argue, Dr. Sumdac tries to make a break for it, only to be blocked by Blitzwing. Meanwhile Starscream holds a struggling Bumblebee while watching Optimus and Megatron battle, trying to decide who he gains more from by helping, the Autobot or his would-be leader? On the ground, Optimus is taking a beating but says he will never reveal the AllSpark's location. Unfortunately Megatron simply plans to use the key to track down the AllSpark. Punching Prime hard enough to send him skidding across the tarmac, Megatron calls out to his loyal Decepticons. Lugnut and Blitzwing immediately respond, and Starscream casually comments on his decision being made for him and throws Bumblebee away. As Lugnut prostrates himself, Starscream drops down on his head, ready to renew his tenure as Second in Command. Megatron comments on the appropriateness of Starscream's presence, takes aim on the Autobots...then quickly jams the key into Starscream's chest, seemingly draining him of life. Dropping the offline seeker, Megatron asks if there are any other dissenters. Getting a negative response, he turns back to the Autobots, only to discover they used the distraction to escape. * At the beginning of the series, years were measured as solar cycles to Transformers, but Megatron refers to years as stellar cycles.
* Megatron said that Prowl slashed off his arm, while he actually lost it due to Starscream who planted a bomb on Megatron's back. Prowl ''did'', however, slash a part off that remained after the explosion.

===Animation errors===
*When Ratchet catches Sari after Blackarachnia drops her, his right arm is intact. In the next scene, it's gone again.

* When Blitzwing changes faces after Megatron coldcocks Starscream, his face rotates vertically, not horizontally as it usually does.

*The black lanyard attached to Sari's [[Sari Sumdac's Key|key]] keeps disappearing and reappearing.
