Fiction
2019 IDW continuity
After escaping from a Decepticon controlled Senate, Sentinel Prime was attacked by the Rainmakers. Using his EMPs, Ion Storm managed to have the Prime crash into the Slaarg & Turbofox. Though the Prime managed to get a good shot in at Ion Storm, he left himself open to attacks from Acid Storm and Nova Storm.

When Security Operations arrived, they chased away the Rainmakers before Sentinel Prime passed. When the Matrix of Leadership ejected itself from its deceased bearer's chest, it called out to Orion Pax who was reformatted into Optimus Prime. War World: Prime
Notes
* The nature of the Slaarg & Turbofox was not specified in the script for issue #25—author Brian Ruckley's script simply called for Sentinel Prime to crash into a civilian building, and artist Anna Malkova independently came up with the idea of having Sentinel make his last stand in a bar while illustrating the issue.
Who am I?
Hi TFwiki goers, Evil Tree here.

After frequenting this wiki for a while and getting my share of lore and laughs I figured it was time for me to make my own account and help out. Thinking I may try and beef up some Cyberverse pages that are in need of it, or at the very least add to the quote pages.

First TF toy: Hightower (RID). Didn't know who he was at the time but he'll always have a special place in my heart. Plus I always found it funny how he has a huge cannon as his main and a teeny-tiny pistol as his sub.<br/>
First TF show: Beast Wars. My first introduction to Transformers, still my favourite show and thanks to it I will always be a CGI apologist.<br/>
Favourite Character: Dinobot (BW). At the time he was the most complex character my little boy mind knew at the time and, I am unashamed to say, will always be my first thought when I hear the word "Dinobot".<br/>
Unpopular opinion: I believe Thunderblast deserves another chance. Say what you want about her you have to admit she's pretty unique among female Transformers, personality and motivation wise, and she had some pretty fun scenes in the show. Would love to see her again in Transformers media, spruce up her origin story, make her a little less shellformer-ish and she could do really well. I'm picturing her as a Camien, tired of her planets strict rules and traditions who joined the Decepticons for freedom, thrills and to be alongside Megatron.<br/>
FIRRIB or FIBRIR?: I'm in the FIRRIB camp, partly due to the cartoon and partly on the images the names invoke. The name Frenzy to me sounds aggressive, violent, conjuring up images of blood and red with it. Rumble sounds more muted, more subtle, brings to mind more neutral and less jarring colours like blue. I'm not too fussed as to what colour scheme a show/comic/etc decides upon however, just that they're consistent with it.<br/>
Best name: Shreddicus Maximus. Sorry, I don't make the rules.

Lore Ideas
Cybertron mind, body and soul unification: One thing I've been formulating in my mind is a way to unify the lore of the Matrix of Leadership, the AllSpark, Vector Sigma and others into a coherent whole. Might as well brainstorm some ideas here. My basic idea is that these represent physical and metaphorical aspects of Primus himself.
* Cybertron AKA Primus's body: Self explanatory in this day and age. From his physical form the forms of all his children take shape, sharing his combination of strength and mutability that all Cybertronians possess.
** Cybertronians made of the matter of Cybertron will be both tough and able to freely select their alt-mode at birth, letting their sparks decide. Ones not made of the matter of Cybertron, e.g. earth vehicles, will still be though but likely bound to transform into those vehicles.
* Vector Sigma AKA Primus's mind: Primus's thought and memory became that of the whole race, both in life and death. The thoughts, knowledge and experience of a Cybertronian gets stored in V.S. when they die and, with the correct device, can be viewed by the living.
** In it's simplest form it's a supercomputer like no other, able to process insane amounts of data and calculations. At it's height it's an information bank containing all the knowledge of the race. Combining these two functions allows V.S. to create the coding, formatting and programming of entire beings, drawing on it's wealth of knowledge and huge computing capacity.
* The AllSpark AKA Primus's soul/spark: Primus's own spark that gave him life, emotion, a sense of self now kindles the lives, feelings and selves of a whole race. Existing as energy, traveling the planet via natural groundbridges akin to veins it sows the planet with life and energy.
** In it's simplest form it's an unmatched power source. At it's height it can imbue almost anything with life and a spark. However, uncontrolled use of this ability will result in said life being driven by instinct alone and be bound by the form the life inhabits. Proper control or channeling is needed.

Drawing inspiration from Cyberverse I have deduced a method of new Cybertronian creation using these:
The AllSpark provides the spark and lifeforce. Vector Sigma provides the AllSpark with the instructions as to what to build. Cybertron provides the fundamental materials to make the lifeform. All combined creates natural Cybertronian life.

(Not quite related but I figured I'd mention it)
* The Matrix of Leadership AKA Primus's will: The more mysterious of the relics, able to bestow a sense of purpose, authority and clearness of mind in it's wearer, as if Primus himself were speaking. If the need is dire and in the name of Primus it is capable of performing amazing acts and light even the darkest hour.
** In it's simplest form it gives the user enhanced wisdom and leadership abilities. At it's height it can bend reality to a limited degree and range, Primus's will into existance. But it must not be used liberally, there's no guarantee that Primus's will aligns to your own. Is it his will to kill Unicron? Absolutely. Is it his will to save a human kid from falling? Probably not. It's not good to rely on the good will of a higher power to solve all your problems, and if it fails it exposes the matrix to attack or theft.

Neatness is an admirable quality in any creature. Windsweeper admires it very much. Head of Cybertronic sanitation, he dislikes being called a fancy garbage bot, but he loves to keep the world clean and pure, free of litter and stains. Litter and stains and slimy drippy oil spots and grubby rusty things, ugh. They make him feel itchy and dirty all over. Itchy and dirty. He hates the lazy litterbots who leave them behind. He hates them worst when they throw garbage at him and he has to scrub, scrub, scrub himself until he feels clean again.

As bad as Cybertron would be if he didn't constantly lock up oil-drippers and litterbugs in deep and dark (but clean) dungeons, other planets are far worse, covered in dirt, with the clean, blank sky full of disgusting clouds and birds and flying kites, and everything simply alive with creepy, crawly bugs. They give him the shakes, so he has to burn them and kill them dead, dead, dead with fire, pure, clean fire.

Sometimes he combines with Bludgeon to form Thunder Mayhem, which only makes himself a dirty limb in a messy battle.
Windsweeper and his fellow Triggercons were active on Cybertron during the early days of the war, when Optimus Prime and Megatron were just beginning their feud. While tracking the Autobot leader and the Triggerbots, Megatron and the Triggercons executed the keepers of Boltax and attempted to steal the power of the Underbase. They failed once Optimus Prime launched the Underbase into space to keep it out of Megatron's hands. The Flames of Boltax!

Millions of years later, Windsweeper and the Triggercons were toiling under the hedonistic decadence of the Triumverate. This trio had brought down the Decepticon army, reducing their interests to a series of gladiatorial games. Once "Megatron" returned and offered the Decepticons a return to the old ways, the Triggercons eagerly agreed and shot their current leaders in the back. The Fall and Rise of the Decepticon Empire.

Afterwards, Windsweeper began working for the Decepticon High Council, who sent him back to Earth alongside Crankcase, Ruckus, Quake and Flamefeather to retrieve their candidate for Decepticon leadership, Thunderwing. Unfortunately, Thunderwing didn't take kindly to being retrieved and beat them up before commandeering them for an assault on the Ark itself. Rage! Although this was ultimately unsuccessful, Windsweeper and his comrades were able to return Thunderwing to the High Council, who named him Decepticon leader for attempting the assault in the first place. Assault on the Ark!

After three Decepticons were killed, Windsweeper, Ruckus, Sparkstalker, and Cindersaur went looking to take revenge against the Autobots, unaware that the real culprits were Demons, recently released from beneath the surface of Cybertron. Chancing across Jazz, Grimlock, and Bumblebee, they attacked before the Autobots could explain. Demons! Making their presence known, the Demons reduced the cocksure Cindersaur to a pile of rubble and then advanced on the Autobots while Windsweeper and Ruckus debated whether to help them or not. They joined the battle against the Demons only to find that their weaponsfire only made the creatures stronger, but were saved by the arrival of Emirate Xaaron and Red Hot who fed the Demons pure Energon, causing them to explode. Dawn of Darkness

When Lord Thunderwing learned of a series of Autobot teams being launched into one small cluster of the universe, Thunderwing brought Windsweeper, Needlenose, Spinister, and Ruckus to investigate. Their pursuit brought them to Pz-Zazz, where Windsweeper's team became known as the "Robot Mob." After quickly subduing and capturing Nightbeat, Siren, and Hosehead, Bird of Prey! they learned the Autobots were searching for their lost Creation Matrix, and so they turned their attentions towards another Autobot search team on the planet Cheyne. Windsweeper accompanied the others to the planet's surface, where they discovered the Autobot team there had fallen victim to a family of psychic vampires, and thus were useless to the Decepticons' mission. Kings of the Wild Frontier. Their next stop was Pequod, though for this leg of the hunt Windsweeper stayed on board their ship. Deadly Obsession

On Cameron's third moon VsQs, where the Matrix was actually located, an idle Windsweeper was nearly killed by a Matrixspawn while his leader was focused on claiming his prize, but was released when the Matrixspawn panicked after being discovered. Thunderwing's willingness to allow Windsweeper be sacrificed caused further resentment from Needlenose over their leader's obsession. Dark Creation Their worst fears were realized after Thunderwing was possessed by the Matrix and went on a rampage through the Autobots' Ark—their former commander was a threat to Autobot and most importantly themselves. Thunderwing quickly proved this by firing upon Spinister. Before things could go further, Thunderwing was cast out into space by the trio of Autobot captives, who had secretly escaped. Windsweeper and the other Decepticons surrendered themselves into Autobot custody afterwards. All Fall Down

Trigger-Happy!
Windsweeper, Needlenose, and Spinister accompanied Crankcase and Ruckus in delivering battle plans to Megatron, the former three acting as the group's rear guard. The Autobots learned of the delivery and planned to ambush them, but their mission was botched by Backstreet, who gave away his faction's presence prematurely. As a result, Windsweeper and the other Decepticons were provoked into starting a firefight that endangered the inhabitants of Rivers' Town. The Decepticons wound up escaping with the plans still in-hand. Trigger-Happy!
While Soundwave was off-planet, Windsweeper was gathered with his comrades at Fort Scyk when the resurrected Scorponok returned to Cybertron with a Gene Key capable of turning Autobots into Decepticons. Given the choice to follow the former Headmaster or be executed on the spot, Windsweeper chose the former. Natural Selection, Part Three Under the command of the Gene Key-infected Highbrow, he joined in the search for the missing Dinobots Sludge, Snarl, and Swoop across Iacon's surface stratum zero. Natural Selection, Part Four
Windsweeper and the rest of the Mayhem Attack Squad were drawn to a cavern on Earth by a Decepticon signal, finding upon their arrival that the extra-dimensional Ramjet was the one broadcasting it. Windsweeper was rather peeved over being called to the mudball, though he was curious to find out who had had the pistons to call upon the "Slaughterers of Worlds." Bludgeon spoke with their new acquaintance, who momentarily showed that he had power that rivaled the Squad's. During the early days of the Deception coup Windsweeper was given the unglamorous job of fetching Energon from a remote Energon transmission station to bring back to the city he was based in. He was mid-way through complaining about the dust all around him when a strange noise caught his attention. Turning to its source he meets Skywarp asking for Energon, lots of it. Not recognising him, thinking he was a civilian, the unimpressed Decepticon refused his request. Skywarp considered his sense of superiority funny, before teleporting in front of him, flooring him in a single punch and stealing the Energon cube he was holding to boot. Before Windsweeper could stop him, or complain about being thrown on the dirty ground, he teleported away leaving the recently arrived Gutcruncher to confirm to Windsweeper that was indeed Skywarp. Lord of Misrule: Swindle's II

Imagine, if you will, a race of beings with the vision, the capacity, to reshape a moon into the greatest energon harvester in the universe. For those of you with no imagination, or are simply curious, the answer to that lies in the Winged Moon, designed to filter energon from the very fabric of spacetime and keep Cybertron healthy.

Fiction
2019 IDW continuity
The Winged Moon was conceived by the Ascenticon visionary Termagax; two thousand workers laboured for kilocycles on one of Cybertron's moons, strip-mining the planetoid and rebuilding the hollowed-out planetoid into a gigantic energon-production facility. Once the work was done, the Winged Moon was moved into a low geostationary orbit over Iacon and equipped with a thruster array to keep its position constant, ensuring that it only ever skimmed Cybertron's atmosphere. The great space elevator known as the Tether, built from the ore harvested by the miners, connected the two worlds and allowed for the easy transport of workers and material to and from the Winged Moon. The World In Your Eyes Part Two

The moon first came online three hundred kilocycles before Brainstorm's murder, with both Orion Pax and Megatron visiting it. As the moon began its inaugural harvest, Megatron opened their elevator to the vacuum so he could make a more convincing metaphor before he and Pax free-fell from the moon and back onto Cybertron. Orion Pax: Free Fall Though the moon represented a masterpiece of engineering, some would come to feel it was not particularly efficient at its job, finding the harvest of energon crystals to be a better way of refuelling the planet.

On Rubble's forty-second cycle of existence, Bumblebee brought him to meet Wheeljack at the Tether where he was employed for the day. When evening fell, Bumblebee took his protege to a nearby rooftop so they could watch the moon commence its harvest, though Bumblebee felt compelled to point out some of the moon's criticisms. When the harvester sprung into operation however, its surface transforming to "wings" to allow for operation, Rubble declared it the most amazing thing he'd ever seen, a statement Bumblebee was hard pressed to challenge. The World In Your Eyes Part Two

When Bumblebee was teaching Rubble about alternate modes, he found his protégé's attention had been captured by the moon finishing its harvest cycle. The World In Your Eyes Part Three

At some point, Enemy snuck onto the moon and attached an energon siphon that beamed the fuel to a relay on Vigilem, Wheeljack: Orbital Decay which then diverted the haul to the Rise base near the Memorial Crater on the outskirts of Iacon. After the base had been raided and the energon stockpile found, the engineering corps deactivated the siphon. Concurrently, Skystalker had been peer pressured to rouse Vigilem from his slumber and direct the Titan to the Winged Moon so he could destroy the Tether. Though Lodestar tried to stop him, the old warhorse's arsenal proved too formidable and managed to touch down on the moon, severing it from Cybertron. The Change In Your Nature Part Five The moon spun off into an unstable solar orbit, the entirety of the staff, save Wheeljack and a small team, being evacuated. Rise of the Decepticons: All Fall Down

After the moon had been evacuated, Wheeljack, Gears, Cosmos, Huffer and Lancer began brainstorming ideas on how to save it, finding Enemy and locking him up. The quintet eventually hit on the idea of opening the moon's wings and detonating two of them off. The second explosion triggered a high pressure energon explosion, diverting the satellite's trajectory. As they celebrated however, Team Stream Mark Two arrived to steal the moon. Wheeljack: Orbital Decay

The Decepticons' efforts were quickly hampered by the engineers sealing off the main control room and Novastar's team arriving to counter them. While the Autobots and Decepticons fought on the surface, the engineers jury-rigged a singularity, that detonated the majority of the moon's energon reserves and further damaged the satellite. While searching for Vigilem, Lightbright, Lodestar, and the Technobots uncover a sinister conspiracy on a distant Cybertronian colony.

Synopsis
At the Black Hub, Lodestar's just undergone a full refit: sporting extra weapons and heavy armor, she and her Cityspeaker Lightbright make final preparations for their mission to find and deal with Vigilem. They won't be going it alone this time, as Colonial Security operative Scattershot and his Technical Solutions team will be supporting them on this deep space mission. As they get underway, Lodestar and Lightbright both raise their concerns about the imploder Scattershot's men have brought aboard; although Scattershot points out that it's a weapon of last resort, the Titan dislikes the idea of transporting the same device that killed Croaton during the War of the Threefold Spark. Scattershot reminds them that keeping the peace out in the colonies is different from life on peaceful Cybertron; sometimes he and his team can negotiate their way out of a problem or improvise a peaceful solution, but dangerous problems require lethal contingency measures, and the imploder is just that: a contingency. Nine cycles into their mission—in between test-firing Lodestar's new armaments and passing the time with games and other diversions—Lightspeed barges into Lightbright's quarters during her private dancing time to bring an urgent message: they've picked up Vigilem's trail.

Eight cycles later, Lodestar arrives at the distant colony of Hexagon; Vigilem has already arrived and docked with the asteroid city for repairs and refuelling. At first, Scattershot tries a two-pronged diplomatic approach: while he calls up the colony's administrator Thunderwing, Lodestar reaches out to Vigilem to try and convince the ancient Titan to peacefully power down. Although embittered commander-turned-bureaucrat Thunderwing wasn't aware of his role in the recent Tether disaster, he refuses to surrender Vigilem out of fear of the collateral damage that could result should Vigilem not come quietly. Lodestar's conversation with Vigilem goes even worse: the Titan bristles at the idea of diminishing himself any further by returning to stasis and cuts the feed instead. With diplomacy off the table, Scattershot and his team take a direct approach by using one of Lodestar's shuttles to travel into Hexagon and manually disconnect Vigilem from his berth. This plan sounds simple... but the moment they leave their landing bay, they're stopped by a familiar face: Bludgeon!

On Lodestar, Lightbright tries to distract herself from their current situation by remembering happier times with her Titan, like the time they navigated a crystalline asteroid belt together. As Lightbright stands under a shimmering hologram of those asteroids, Lodestar admits that she has no desire to kill Vigilem—Titans were never meant to fight one another—and Lightbright agrees. All they can do is hope that a better option will present itself...

Bludgeon takes the five Autobots through the asteroid city to meet with Thunderwing, but Afterburner isn't happy to see Bludgeon, who's been hopping in and out of stasis prisons since the end of the war. But Bludgeon is an upstanding citizen compared to Thunderwing's other hires: the unpleasant mercenary trio of Ramjet, Dirge, and Thrust, who glower at the team as Bludgeon escorts them into Thunderwing's office. Though Thunderwing snaps that he's had to up security after the recent diplomatic incident with the Thraal, Scattershot cuts through Thunderwing's bluster: as a Senate operative, he outranks Thunderwing. He and his team are going to suspend repairs and disconnect Vigilem from the city's energon reserves whether Thunderwing wants to or not; although Thunderwing snarls that the Senate doesn't exist anymore, he grudgingly backs down, but warns them that whatever happens next is their responsibity.

Afterburner stays behind with Thunderwing and Bludgeon, Ramjet and Thrust take Scattershot and Nosecone to the docking controls, and Dirge leads Lightspeed and Strafe down to Vigilem's berth, but Lightspeed points out that something's wrong: they already downloaded Hexagon's schematics before they arrived, and Dirge is leading them in the wrong direction. Furthermore, their schematics didn't include a massive, locked door in this corridor... and this comment prompts Dirge to pull his weapons on the duo. When Lightspeed radios Scattershot for help, however, a sudden station-wide comms blackout renders everyone's systems inoperable—something Ramjet and Thrust write off as Vigilem interfering with their systems. That's one coincidence too many for Scattershot: he points out that Thunderwing's somehow aware of the Senate crisis playing out on Cybertron despite claiming no knowledge of Vigilem's role in the disaster, didn't contact anyone on Cybertron when a Titan suddenly showed up on his doorstep, and recently recruited a group of known malcontents with criminal tendencies. Scattershot whips out his blasters and orders them to tell them where they're really taking them; at that moment, Afterburner pulls out his own gun on Thunderwing and Bludgeon when the comms go down, only for Bludgeon to easily get the drop on Afterburner and send him flying with one swing of his sword!

Although Lodestar and Lightbright detect the presence of a massive signal dampening field, they can't penetrate it. Fortunately, the Technical Solutions team are capable fighters and capable of thinking on their feet—while Nosecone drills through the bulkheads so that he and Scattershot can escape into the ventilation system, Lightspeed hotwires the mysterious door while Strafe battles Dirge and eventually drives him away. Once they're in, however, the pair discover a strange, glowing shaft... before they can figure out what this means, however, Thunderwing uses the intercom system to finally drop all pretenses and explain his real plan. Although the Senate might have exiled him to Hexagon, they were never able to blunt his ambitions or change his nature; with the Senate in shambles and the new regime ascendant, he will repair Vigilem, deliver the Titan to Cybertron, and ingratiate himself to the new regime.

As Bludgeon uses his tank mode to pursue Afterburner through the corridors, Nosecone and Scattershot break through the wall and rescue their teammate by using Nosecone's drill to pierce Bludgeon's armor and take him out. Lightspeed pulls the plug on Thunderwing's speech by hotwiring the comms system to request support from his teammates. As he does so, he discovers that this mysterious room is connected to every part of Hexagon—from here, he can even disconnect Vigilem from his docking bay. Before he can do so, however, a voice warns him not to as a dark shape scuttles up the shaft: Airachnid! Wanted for her depraved experiments, the twisted scientist has struck up a partnership with Thunderwing and turned her talents towards a new goal: recreating the Artifacts of the Primes. While she monologues, Lightspeed dives towards the control panel and releases Vigilem; the furious Airachnid is too late to stop him, and when Scattershot and the others arrive, they promptly charge the villain. Airachnid retaliates by launching an explosive barrage from her body that knocks them off-balance and sends them all plummeting into the depths of the shaft...

Dirge, Ramjet, and Thrust regroup as Thunderwing demands a status update... but, at that moment, a terrified Airachnid races out of her laboratory, shouting that Scattershot and his team have fallen into her experimental Combination Core, an artificial copy of the Enigma of Combination. Seconds later, she's proven right when a gigantic arm punches its way up through the floor! The combiner rises from the wreckage, tears its way through the station, and swats the three Coneheads into open vacuum; Airachnid warns Thunderwing that the only way to save Hexagon from the rampaging combiner is to jettison the stricken section entirely; swearing vengeance against Scattershot for forcing his hand, Thunderwing just does that, launching part of the colony out onto an escape trajectory and taking the self-proclaimed "Computron" with it.
Lodestar detects the launch, but Lightbright reminds her that they have other problems: Vigilem's on the move and setting a course for Cybertron. Despite Lodestar's attempts to reach out, she cannot penetrate his cryptic ramblings, and her attempts to reach out only provoke the rogue Titan into transforming and attacking her with a torpedo barrage. Lodestar also shifts into robot mode to better defend herself; although her point defenses shred his torpedo barrage, she can't keep up the pace for long. There's only one option left—as Lightbright urges her on, Lodestar closes the distance, ejects the imploder out of an airlock, and rams it deep into Vigilem's chest. The explosion vaporizes Lodestar's right arm but fatally blows Vigilem apart; as his shattered corpse drifts into the gravity well of the nearest star, Lodestar reestablishes contact with her Cityspeaker. While she's sustained serious damage to the point where she can't transform back into starship mode, Lodestar has just enough energy to limp off in search for their companions.

On their drifting section of Hexagon, Scattershot and his team try to figure out what's happened to them. Somehow, Scattershot absorbed the power of Airachnid's artificial Enigma; even now, his form glows with unnatural energy. At that moment, however the team receive a transmission from Lodestar, who's come to rescue them... though she warns that Lodestar's current state means that it'll be a slow, painful trip back to the Black Hub. Six cycles later, Lightspeed interrupts Lightbright's dance routine once more to report that they've intercepted a transmission from Cybertron that states the unthinkable: all of the Titans orbiting Cybertron have fallen and died. Overwhelmed by emotion, Lightbright tells Lodestar to play a different song as she silently gazes into a hologram of the crystal asteroids she once navigated, trying to process the loss—for Lodestar is now the very last Titan.
Notes
Continuity notes
* Lightbright and Lodestar battled Vigilem in issue #17, but weren't able to prevent him from attacking the Winged Moon and severing the Tether that connected it to Cybertron. In issue #20, Orion Pax ordered Lightbright and Lodestar to report to the Black Hub for a weaponized refit, and a brief scene in the next issue showed the pair leaving Cybertron.
* This issue begins at some point after issue #23, which saw Megatron and his newly-minted Decepticons overthrow the Senate and declare martial law. The voyage to and from Hexagon takes at least twenty-nine cycles, and the last scene occurs just after issue #29, which ended with the Decepticons killing all the Titans over Cybertron.
* Nosecone namedrops a number of goings-on from the Galaxies anthology series: he notes that the planet Mayalx was recently "devastated" in a cheeky reference to the finale of the "Constructicons Rising" arc, and alludes to the disappearance of Ultra Magnus and his starship from the last issue of the "Storm Horizon" storyline—the final scene of that comic, which depicts him and his crew returning to Cybertron after a time-dilating adventure in the Black Sphere, must therefore take place after both this story and the "War World" arc as a whole.
* Jazz makes a quick cameo on a screen in the Black Hub, in keeping with his brief appearance in "Storm Horizon" that showed him as some kind of adjunct to Cybertron's Colonial Security division.
* A conversation between Lodestar and Scattershot reveals that the rogue Titan Croaton was destroyed with an imploder during the War of the Threefold Spark. Presumably, as per #29, this must've been the weapon that Citadel used to kill him.
* Nosecone and Afterburner pass the time by playing a chess-like game involving multiple boards, which first appeared in issue #29.
* The asteroid city of Hexagon appeared in issue #12 as the final colony Sentinel Prime visited before returning to Cybertron. Thunderwing justifies his decision to beef up security by hiring the three Coneheads as a direct response to the terrorist Thraal plot from that issue.
* Airachnid notes that the various Artifacts of the Primes went missing, a fact that's been alluded to multiple times in both the main ongoing and Galaxies. Intriguingly, Airachnid flags up her artificial Combination Core as a replica of the "lost" Enigma of Combination. Termagax seemingly took possession of the artifact in Galaxies #1 after using it to create the combiner who would go on to become Devastator, so she's either lost it again, or she's been keeping a secret...
** Back in Transformers #26, Starscream said he knew something about the Enigma. And given how his knowledge of the Titansparks turned out...
* In their final battle, Vigilem and Lodestar again quote Codexa's thoughts on the Titans from The Way We Were, by One Who Saw It: "we should fear what terrible circumstance might bring their waking, and what terrible consequence might follow it."
* The last scene reveals that Lodestar is the very last Titan—in #30, Megatron claimed that the sixteen Titansparks hidden underneath the Pyramid were destroyed when the building flooded with molten plasma... but, like, c'mon...

Transformers references
*The five Technobots are drawn and colored to resemble their Unite Warriors toys, who were in turn decoed to match how they appeared in the original The Transformers cartoon. As a result, Afterburner is red and white instead of orange and grey, while Computron gets his show-accurate blue visor and gold face with no mouthplate.
* Metalhawk appears as a technician aboard the Black Hub; he's working alongside Syphon, who was originally one of the many "Disappeared" Cybertronians in the pages of The Transformers: More than Meets the Eye.
* Lightspeed notes his unfulfilled desire to become a Cityspeaker and travel through space aboard a Titan-this seems like a reference to Bob Budiansky's original profile for the character, which flagged up his secret desire to peacefully explore the universe as an interstellar spacecraft.
* Like many modern depictions of the characters, Bludgeon and Thunderwing appear as normal Cybertronians who wear bodies based on their more famous Pretender shells. While Thunderwing is a mostly faithful adaptation of his 2010 Generations figure, Bludgeon is a bit looser—he incorporates a number of traits like his skull-shaped chest from his Warrior-class figure from Robots in Disguise, but the rest of his body is a bit of a mishmash that doesn't map to any one specific version of the character.
* The three "Coneheads" appear as unaligned enforcers-for-hire; while they're typically depicted as Decepticons, the trio recently guest-starred in the War For Cybertron cartoon as members of Doubledealer's freebooting Mercenary crew. Like their appearance in that show, they are depicted with bodies resembling the Siege Seeker mold, which was never actually used for the Coneheads. Unlike that series, however, they are all drawn here with their distinct, individual styles of wings.
* Airachnid—a cross-continuity transplant of the Prime character—made her first IDW appearance in the last arc of Till All Are One, and later appeared in the Star Trek and My Little Pony crossover comics as a minor goon. This incarnation of the character hews much closer to the ruthless, amoral scientist who appeared in Till All Are One—and while previous depictions of the character depicted her alternate mode as either a spider or a Prime-style helicopter, this issue bridges the gap by depicting her as a full-fledged triple changer, though her flight mode only appears in Alex Milne's concept art for the character.
* Airachnid namedrops several Artifacts of the Primes: in addition to the Matrix of Leadership and the Enigma of Combination, other relics include the Lenses worn by Alchemist Prime, the "Cog" of Amalgamous Prime, the Darts wielded by the Liege Maximo, and the "Stone", which could either be a reference to Micronus Prime's Chimera Stone or Quintus Prime's Emberstone.

Errors
* In his first appearance amidst the staff of the Black Hub, Afterburner is colored tan instead of red.
* When Lodestar first transforms into her robot mode, she's drawn with a pair of back cannons. In all subsequent panels, she's only sporting one cannon on her right side.
** Although on the same page she first transformers in the top left of the last panel the missing back cannon can be seen flying off after it appears to have been blasted off by Vigilem.

Other trivia
* Originally solicited for May 26th, this issue arrives just two weeks late, landing in the second week of June instead.
* Backmatter for this plus-sized annual includes concept art for Airachnid, Bludgeon, Thunderwing, and the Black Hub.
Cybertron's Titan Net allows cityspeakers to remotely communicate with the planet's Titan defense fleet. When a Titan connects to the network, they can safely go dormant as teams of cityspeakers and technicians coordinate the dormant Titans, executing precision maneuvers to prevent collisions, or even awakening individual Titans should the need arise.

Fiction
2019 IDW continuity
During the prosperous Age of Expansion, the Titan Net was a global network that coordinated the many Titans who protected their homeworld and enforced the will of Cybertron elsewhere in the galaxy. When Titans went dormant in orbit around Cybertron, their autonomous functions were slaved to the Titan Net so that dedicated technicians could coordinate individual trajectories and maintain a stable orbit around Cybertron without having to rouse the Titans themselves. The War of the Threefold Spark appears to have severely reduced the number of active Titans—the Nominus Edict then curtailed Cybertronian expansionism, and no new Titansparks emerged from the Well of All Sparks, and this decline precipitated the gradual shuttering of the ancillary facilities. Eventually, traffic dwindled to the point where a handful of workers based out of Iacon's Primary Hub could handle the entire network. The Change In Your Nature Part Four

By the era just before the Great War, Blaster coordinated the Titan Net with the assistance of Gizmo, Playback, and Wavelength. Lodestar was the only active Titan at the time and had disentangled herself from the network. The Change In Your Nature Part Five When the terrorist group known as "The Rise" sought to harnes the power of the Titans for their own end, they launched an attack on one of the decomissioned cityspeaking facilities; while Skystalker roused Vigilem from his slumber, Blackjack uploaded a custom data-bomb onto the network. The bomb took out the Titan Net completely, paralysed the sleeping Titans, and corrupted the communication channels used to communicate with the giants, rendering it impossible to rouse any Titans while Vigilem went online and destroyed the Tether. The Change In Your Nature Part Five

In the coming days, Glyph joined the team to help unsnarl the damaged network, Rise of the Decepticons: Tremors but their work became a race against time: with no way to control the Titans, their orbits began to decay, and each orbit around the planet brought them closer and closer to the point of no return—Wheeljack witnessed one Titan skimming the atmosphere. Escape Part One
:Hot Rod is an Autobot from the Cyberverse continuity family.
Hot Rod is a very brave Autobot, to the point where his function within the Autobot ranks is "Daring Hero". According to Bumblebee, older Autobots consider him a show-off, but he is Bumblebee's favorite person to pull off reckless stunts with, and is always "down for a friendly race to prove that he rules the roads"; however, he will demand infinite rematches until he wins. This immaturity is probably why it's sometimes hard to realise that beneath the bravado lies a natural leader, with the right mix of skill, confidence and charisma to draw even the most unlikely ally to his side. Hot Rod is willing to die for his friends without a moments hesitation. But by living, he's able to inspire them to fight for themselves when it's needed most.
Sometime after the war had started, Hot Rod visited Velocitron with Bumblebee and was challenged to a race by Blurr. He got into an argument with the speedster when the latter failed to mention that part of the track was being repaired. This altercation was cut short with a crashing repair drone infected by a spreading epidemic and the Autobots were eventually forced to flee the planet in spite of Blurr's initial apprehension to leave his home. However, upon realizing that someone needed to stay behind to operate the space bridge, Blurr volunteered, despite Hot Rod's protests, revealing he had unwittingly caught the plague himself and couldn't risk spreading it.
I'm not too fussed as to what colour scheme a show/comic/etc decides upon however, just that they're consistent with it.

The radical group known as "The Rise" have seemingly arisen in recent years as a protest against the restrictive terms of the Nominus Edict and the Autobots who uphold the mandate of Sentinel Prime. Though their proactive views on self-determination immediately mark them as a splinter group of the broader Ascenticon ideology, the 'bots who make up The Rise have eschewed the largely peaceful ways of the Ascenticons, making themselves known through violence, vandalism, and destruction of property.
2019 IDW continuity
Following his rise to the Senate, Ascenticon leader Megatron realized that the peaceful tactics of his mainstream Ascenticons would not be enough to elicit the changes he desired in Cybertronian society. To this end, Megatron secretly recruited the exiled Cybertronian Shockwave, smuggled him back to Cybertron, and put him in charge of The Rise. Under Shockwave's command, the disorganized group was reshaped into a tightly organized unit, The Cracks Beneath Your Feet Part Four operating from hidden bunkers such as the one near Iacon's Memorial Crater. The Cracks Beneath Your Feet Part Three

In time, more than two hundred Cybertronians joined the movement, attracted by Shockwave's message of violence—though to outsiders, it seemed as though the Cybertronians had abruptly vanished. The World In Your Eyes Part Five Megatron intended for The Rise to complement the pacifistic tactics of the Ascenticons: the violence and disarray spread by the Rise would, he hoped, push the people of Cybertron towards the politics of the Ascenticons—if the Ascenticons were put in power, after all, then The Rise would cease to exist. The Cracks Beneath Your Feet Part Four In public, Megatron continued to denounce the violent behavior of these "Risers" The World In Your Eyes Part Three while taking advantage of the increasingly unstable political situation on Cybertron to fabricate at least one failed "assassination attempt" that would make him look like a potential martyr. The World In Your Eyes Part Two

In time, however, Shockwave's increasingly ambitious behavior and his unilateral control over his operatives led to friction between him and Megatron: The Cracks Beneath Your Feet Part Four under as-yet-undivulged circumstances, the respected scientist Brainstorm was killed in a way that incriminated The Rise. The World In Your Eyes Part One Learning that a Voin scavenger had witnessed the murder, the recent Ascenticon convert Barricade passed on knowledge of its location to Senator Soundwave, who, in turn, contacted Shockwave to tie up this loose end. Shockwave sent the notoriously unstable Quake to Iacon's Xeno-Quarter to find and silence the Voin; while he found and killed the alien, Quake got carried away and also wound up murdering the young Transformer Rubble, who had followed the alien out of curiosity. The World In Your Eyes Part Five

Shortly after learning this, and after Chromia's Security Operations taskforce raided one of their hidden bunkers and retrieved information on The Rise's membership, a furious Megatron travelled out into the badlands of Cybertron to speak directly to Shockwave, and ordered him to take his operatives underground for a while. The Cracks Beneath Your Feet Part Four However, when it became clear that Barricade had outed himself as a potential Riser, Megatron was forced to order Shockwave to stage an "attack" on Ascenticon headquarters, in which Sixshot, Storm Cloud, and Visper were able to safely extract Barricade. The Cracks Beneath Your Feet Part Five
With time quickly running out, the Autobots must divide and conquer to prepare their escape plan.

Synopsis
At Decepticon headquarters, Soundwave has completed his analysis of the signal emitted during Ultra Magnus's death. He reports to Megatron that the signal transmitted a protocol containing a hidden code that is designed to traverse over Cyberton's infrastructure. Megatron is interested less in how it moves but what it can do, and to whom it was sent. He is frustrated that Shockwave failed to detect it and that Soundwave cannot decipher it. Shockwave proposes using a secret virus (whose secret development irks Megatron) in order to eliminate the code by destroying all processors that have ever received it, wherever they may be. He proposes the ironic solution of using Magnus's own body to transmit the payload, even as Soundwave warns that the virus will cripple planetary infrastructure. Despite this, Megatron orders Shockwave to proceed.

At the Ark, the Autobots question the imprisoned Jetfire. He claims that he has realized that Megatron has gone too far in his war and that he won't be a party to genocide of the Autobots. Optimus Prime is stunned as Jetfire recalls Magnus's fate, how he was murdered while shackled and defenseless. Jetfire promises that Megatron will do the same to all Autobots and pleads to join their team.

Nearby, Cog and Wheeljack are in awe of Bumblebee's newfound knowledge from the Alpha Trion protocols. The scavenger tells the two Autobots that in Cybertron's Golden Age, the Allspark moved across the planet, following a map that Bumblebee now possesses in his mind. As Wheeljack prepares to modernize Bumblebee's map for present-day Cybertron, Prime, Elita-1 and Prowl join them and voice their skepticism over Jetfire's intentions. At that moment, Wheeljack has located the Allspark; unfortunately, it resides in the treacherous Sea of Rust, from which escape is extremely rare.

Elita suggests waiting until the Allspark reappears somewhere safer, but Prime disagrees: retrieving the Allspark, launching the Ark, and activating the spacebridge must happen at the same time so that the Decepticons have no opportunity to stop their mission. Elita is exasperated; she loses more faith in the mission and feels bitterly that Prime needlessly endangers himself. Bumblebee points out that even though Autobots rarely return from the Sea of Rust, Decepticons have done so, having mapped out the area in the past. Prime realizes that Jetfire could be put to good use here, and orders Prowl to retrieve him.

At the spacebridge, Impactor and Ratchet put the final touches on its repair. Mirage congratulates their efforts as Ratchet powers it up, but immediately, a patrol of Seekers approach. In a desperate move, Mirage casts an illusion so large that it hides the entire spacebridge from view. The ruse is successful, and the rest of the team members feel a rare moment of relief.

Meanwhile, Magnus's corpse is strung up and run through with electrical cables as Shockwave's virus is unleashed across Cybertron.

Jetfire is eager to prove his usefulness to the Autobots even as Elita believes he can't be trusted. To earn their trust, Jetfire suggests that a core override be applied to his brain module, detonating him at the first sign of deception. The Autobots shamefully remember the dark times in which they applied the core overrides, but accept Jetfire's proposal that he submit to the procedure. Wheeljack reminds the team that the Ark needs more energon to fly, but Bumblebee says he knows how they can get it if they're willing to steal it from a mercenary named Soundblaster. Prime approves the plan, sending Arcee and Cog to accompany Bumblebee. Prime plans to journey to the Sea of Rust with Hound, Moonracer, Prowl, and Jetfire. Elita, growing weary of the morally grey areas of dealing with Decepticons and stealing energon, remains to prepare the Ark.

At Soundblaster's dome, Bumblebee is prepared to make a show of bartering the Autobots' last store of energon to get inside. He, Cog, and Arcee make it inside and try not to look suspicious. They approach Soundblaster at last, who is protected by Dome Guards. Careful not to offend him by calling him a failed Soundwave clone, Bumblebee offers him energon, and they are allowed to go to the receiving area. There, they see more than enough energon to power the Ark. Cog transforms and combines with Arcee and they hold up the Dome Guards at gunpoint. But before they can escape, Soundblaster arrives with more Dome Guards, and it is now Bumblebee's team being held up. Buzzsaw had been spying on them, and Soundblaster is amused knowing that captive Autobots are worth more than a few cubes of energon.

Elita watches Prime's team remotely from the Ark as Ironhide gives her more bad news: Autobot outposts across the planet are suffering total system failures. What she doesn't know is that the failures are being caused by Shockwave's virus, which has nearly disabled the entire planet's infrastructure. Before all communication breaks down, Elita orders all other outpost teams to report to the Ark. She tries to reach Prime, but his signal is lost. The virus finally reaches the Ark, damaging its repair bays, power supplies, and ultimately its cloaking device!

Prime's team arrives at the inhospitable Sea of Rust, and immediately are forced to dodge lightning. Jetfire launches flares that provide relatively-safe passage for the Autobots, but they must contend with metallic vortexes. The former Seeker is confident they can make it past the vortexes, but Prowl is unexpectedly pulled into air around the dangerous storm. Jetfire transforms and risks his life to rescue him, and barely succeeds. Back on the ground, Prowl believes the Decepticon has demonstrated valor, but Jetfire believes the Autobot will value pragmatism over appreciation. After the Autobots pass through the vortexes, they detect the Allspark in a valley below. Inside the crystal-strewn valley, Prime feels an uneasy feeling, as if the Matrix itself had issued a warning. As if on cue, the valley begins to rumble, and the undead Sparkless erupt from the ground itself. Though they are shambling, they are strong; one quickly rips off Moonracer's arm. Jetfire and the Autobots are surrounded by the horde!

Meanwhile, Megatron is on the verge of triumph: Shockwave reports the detection of the defenseless Autobot Command at last, and Starscream has discovered increased Autobot activity near a spacebridge. He orders his lieutenants to assemble all Decepticons and will personally lead an assault to crush the Autobot resistance once and for all!
Transformers references
* Bumblebee mentions a former Seeker named Dreadwing. Whether this refers to the combined Powermaster jet, the alternate name for one of those said Powermasters, the Generation 2 stealth bomber, or a Generation 1 version of the Prime character who captained an army of Seekers is unknown.
* The Sea of Rust has appeared in other media, notably being the place of origin for the Rust Renegades in the Combiner Wars toyline.
* Soundblaster having a partner in Buzzsaw is parallel to Logos Prime and Hell Buzzsaw from Galaxy Force and more recently, Soundblaster and Buzzsaw from the Fall of Cybertron toyline.

Animation and technical errors
* Like his red clone in episode 2, Cog's torso piece disappears when he combines with Arcee.
Trivia
*While both Arcee and Cliffjumper got their own new toys in Earthrise, the designs for them were presumably not ready to be used in the Siege cartoon. As a result, Cliffjumper uses Bumblebee's recolored character model, while Arcee uses a new model based on her general character design rather than any pre-existing toy, similar to Bumblebee and Elita-1.
*Moonracer's model is reskinned from Chromia. Unfortunately, the similar-looking colors and model reuse means the two look very alike.
*Soundblaster's model sports a few differences from his Siege toy, namely additional black parts, a flatter chest owing to being reskinned from Soundwave, and a Mercenary symbol instead of a Decepticon badge. Another thing to note in both Soundwave and Soundblaster's on-screen appearance is they are both missing one of the vehicle engine parts on the right side of both their backs.
**TakaraTomy would eventually release their own Soundblaster with a deco that greatly resembles his on-screen War for Cybertron Trilogy appearance and would replace his Decepticon Insignia with the Mercenary one. This release was an exclusive to Mall and later TakaraTomy's Generations Selects line.
*Prowl's detonator to Jetfire's core override uses the same model for the Cybertronian scanner used in Transformers: Prime, likely a case of asset reuse on the part of Polygon Pictures, which also did the animation for Prime.
The full forces of the Autobots and the Decepticons engage in a battle for control of Cybertron.

Synopsis
In the Threshold of the Well, Megatron jubilantly watches as Shockwave's laser snare obliterates the Ark, praising the scientist for succeeding at something. The Decepticon leader monologues about how things are going: the Autobots are dead, Vector Sigma is back inside the Threshold, and soon he will use the AllSpark to create an army of Decepticons, all loyal to him. He then commands Skywarp to take the Seekers to comb through the ship's wreckage, find the artifact, and kill any Autobot survivors they find. However, the moment is interrupted by someone cutting through the Threshold's doors. It's Teletraan-X, who is incensed over the destruction of its ship, and vows revenge. Megatron effortlessly swats the little drone away, only to find it did not come alone: the Autobots are still alive. Megatron is confused, so Optimus Prime explains...

Before the Ark got to Cybertron, Optimus ordered all hands to abandon the ship, suspecting the Decepticons of laying a trap, and has Teletraan-X pilot the ship on its own despite Hot Rod's objections.

Optimus calls Megatron on how easy his actions were to predict. Megatron snarls back that he may have a few surprises left. Regardless, the full force of the Decepticons stands between Optimus and getting the AllSpark back where it belongs. The two armies charge at one another.

Nearby, Bumblebee, Hot Rod and Cheetor watch. Though both Bumblebee and Cheetor want to get involved, Hot Rod reminds them of Optimus's orders to stay out of the fight until he clears the way for them, much to Bumblebee's disappointment. The two armies fight, but despite casualties on both sides, neither has a clear advantage. As Bumblebee sees Soundwave incapacitate Ratchet, he hurries off to get involved, but Hot Rod blocks his path. Fortunately for both, Grimlock intervenes to save the Autobot's medic.

As the battle rages, Optimus and Megatron clash, unaware that Shadow Striker is drawing her gun on Optimus. At the last moment, Prowl leaps in front of her shot, saving Optimus at the cost of his own life. An enraged Optimus vows that now, he and Megatron will end their battle once and for all. Meanwhile, by the Threshold's door, Shockwave observes, and turns away from the fight. Inside the building, he signals to Megatron that they are ready, as he descends into the planet to the howls of Scraplets.

Notes
Continuity notes
*In "Escape From Earth", it was unclear if Vector Sigma had been left on Earth. This episode confirms it to have been brought home by the Decepticons.
*Similarly, Sky-Byte was last seen drifting off into space in the same episode. While it was unclear if he was ever recovered at the time, this episode shows him to still be among the Decepticons.
*Ramjet chronologically last appeared in "Allspark" amongst the Seekers attacking the space bridge. Dirge, meanwhile, was chronologically last seen in "Cube".
*Jetfire grounds Skywarp and Ramjet with Seeker-esque chest missiles, which links to his former friendship with Starscream.

Transformers references
*There is an assortment of new faces in this episode. To start off, the Seekers are now led by a gender-bent version of Skywarp, who was absent from the previous two seasons.
*Ramjet and Dirge are accompanied by a red Seeker of the conehead mold, who is presumably taking the place of the offlined Thrust.
*A new face amongst the Decepticons is Alphastrike, who is is modeled after Beast Machines Strika yet has been renamed for trademark reasons.
*The Autobots are joined by a new version of the elderly veteran Kup, whose design is based off his Generation 1 counterpart's first Generations toy with minor stylistic tweaks based off his Titans Return toy.
*Debuting seconds after Kup is a new version of the one-eyed Wrecker Whirl, who is modeled after his Generation 1 counterpart's original and 2012 More than Meets the Eye comic series designs.
*Despite receiving only vocal grunts in this episode, we get to see Dead End, a new version of the Generation 1 Stunticon. His design is based off his Combiner Wars toy but in the colors of his live-action movie universe namesake.
*Prowl dies by taking a blast through the right side of his upper torso, the same way his G1 Counterpart died in the original movie.

Real-world references
*Kup says that "[he's] getting too old for this scrud", referencing Roger Murtaugh's famous line from Lethal Weapon: "I'm too old for this shit."

Other trivia
*The Cybertronian text displayed on Megatron's display screen is "Scan" and "I like pickles."
*The Threshold building is surrounded by multiple statues of Alpha Trion and Maccadam, foreshadowing their status as members of the Thirteen.
*While the episode's animation does not make it look like Prowl's injury is that bad, the fact that the light in his eyes fades implicitly confirms that he indeed perished. Furthermore, he is not seen again after what goes down between "Battle For Cybertron IV" and "The Loop".
