Detroit, Michigan is a city in the United States of America. It is located near Lake Erie.

Fiction
Animated cartoon
Detroit was once the "Motor City", the automobile manufacturing capital of the world. By the 22nd Century, Detroit had once again become a leading manufacturing hub—for robots. As for what happened to the city between those two periods, well, who knows?

The city's robotics industry was led by (and may have consisted solely of) the Sumdac Systems corporation. Most of the competition proved less than inspiring. This reliance on a single, monolithic industry is certain to provide economic stability for all time.

The city had a newly unveiled mass transit system, sponsored by Sumdac Systems, the Fully Automated Rapid Transit System, or FARTS. Real mature, Isaac, real mature.

The city then became home to a team of five robotic superheroes, the Autobots. Having crashed aboard their ship some fifty years earlier in Lake Erie, they awoke and appointed themselves guardians and defenders of the city's Humanity. When one of their old foes showed up in town, they ended up trashing a fair bit of the city. Not to be deterred, they worked hard to help rebuild it. Naturally, this involved hitting things with an ax. The Autobots made their home in an abandoned, early 20th-century factory. Transform and Roll Out!

Poor Detroit continued to suffer a great deal of robot-inflicted calamities after that. Among their troubles were robots flinging flaming fuel tanks into the air Home Is Where the Spark Is, robots smashing an entire parking lot full of cars Blast from the Past, robots getting thrown through the roof of the local sports arena Total Meltdown, robots inducing rolling electrical blackouts across the city The Thrill of the Hunt, robots disguised as rocket-powered cars crashing into things Nanosec (episode), robots sucking the life force from the city's population Along Came a Spider, robots sparking a massive automaton rebellion Sound and Fury, robots obliterating construction sites while flat-out trying to kill one another Lost and Found (episode), robots kidnapping young children from their homes Survival of the Fittest, robots unable to stop the destruction of the city without destroying half of it Headmaster (episode), robots blasting holes in major downtown skyscrapers Megatron Rising - Part 1, robots destroying downtown buildings and bridges while trying to kill each other Megatron Rising - Part 2, good robots driving over cars in the street The Elite Guard The Return of the Headmaster, evil robots threatening to bomb passenger trains Mission Accomplished, robots dumping garbage all over the city before threatening to destroy it with super-powered nanobots, Garbage In, Garbage Out, robots destroying overpasses and stealing construction materials Rise of the Constructicons, robots shutting down every other mechanical device in the city SUV: Society of Ultimate Villainy, robots rampaging through the city while trying to find devices Black Friday (episode), and robots raiding motor supply stores and destroying cars stuck in traffic jams Sari, No One's Home.

To be fair, Detroit has also suffered at the hands of its own human population. These include humans with fancy weapons attempting to rob armored cars Home Is Where the Spark Is Garbage In, Garbage Out, humans going on steroid-induced rampages Total Meltdown, humans risking city-destroying explosions by stealing incredibly volatile substances Nanosec (episode), humans waging violent crusades against war toys Sound and Fury, humans attempting to detonate nuclear reactors in blatant attempts to destroy the city Headmaster (episode), humans organizing illegal street races without regard for the safety of other drivers and pedestrians Velocity, and human crime syndicates stealing various pieces of equipment for nefarious purposes SUV: Society of Ultimate Villainy.

You wouldn't want to be its mayor.
Strangely, nearly every machine in Detroit has a keyhole, even alien robots and toilets!
Sentinel Prime has incredible success capturing fugitive Decepticons, leading Prowl to suspect he's getting help.

Synopsis
In the dead of night, the Autobots steal through the streets of Detroit, on the trail of a Decepticon energy signature. With the source of the signal cornered, Prowl makes his move and dives through a window, only to find that the signal is coming from a beacon, and that the Autobots have been tricked. To make matters worse, Sentinel Prime has disappeared, and the Autobots spread out to search for him. During the search, Optimus Prime spots an unfamiliar shadow, and follows it around a corner... to find the sycophantic Starscream clone, captured and stasis-cuffed by Sentinel Prime. They take the prisoner back to the Elite Guard's ship, where Optimus is stunned to discover that Sentinel has also recently captured Blitzwing and Swindle, as well.

Jetstorm and Jetfire are eager to know how Sentinel managed to apprehend the Starscream clone, as is Optimus, but Sentinel gets defensive and tells Optimus it does not concern him. Prime confides in Prowl his suspicion that Sentinel is hiding something, and tells him about the strange shadow he saw. Back at the Autobot plant, the pair consult computer records to see if Optimus can identify the distinctive helmet the robot was wearing, and when they find one that fits the bill, the stunned Prowl flashes back to his past on Cybertron…

:The helmet belongs to Yoketron, the ninja master who trained Prowl centuries ago. Attempting to dodge the draft during the Great War, Prowl was apprehended by Elite Guardsman Warpath and placed into the care of Yoketron, who saw potential in him and offered to train him in exchange for the charges against him being dropped.

Optimus pulls Prowl out of his ruminations, and the ninja-bot silently speeds back to the Elite Guard ship to converse with Jazz, another of Yoketron's old students. The pair suspect that their old sensei may somehow be on Earth, capturing Decepticons, and that Sentinel is taking the credit. Sentinel walks in on the middle of the discussion and laughs off the notion that Yoketron is even still online, before departing on another patrol. Knowing that something is not right, Jazz and Prowl shadow Sentinel, but when Sentinel rounds a corner and disappears, Prowl lapses into his memories once again, recalling when Yoketron taught him that it was the robot himself, not his tools, that made the ninja. With nothing left to do, the pair return to the Elite Guard's ship, where Jetfire and Jetstorm are working to repair their communications system.

The two brothers tell the ninjas that Sentinel is waiting for them in the brig, and Jazz and Prowl are amazed to see that Sentinel has brought in Lugnut! As Sentinel gloats, Prowl calls him on the unlikihood of the whole scenario, and accuses him of having "help". The ninja-bot points out the missing weapons on all the Decepticons, and notes that only one bot that he knows of takes trophies from his victims, but Sentinel silences him by revealing that he has removed Lugnut's "Punch of Kill Everything" and placed it in a storage compartment in that very hallway. Embarrassed, Prowl leaves, and Sentinel turns on Optimus, telling him to keep Prowl in line, lest me "bust him back to protoform". The word echoes down the hallway, and Prowl pauses…

:As Prowl's skills increase under Yoketron's tutelage, he is deemed worthy of a weapon by his master and is given his shuriken. Yoketron leads Prowl into a chamber containing holographic busts of his greatest students, but one plinth is empty; a spot, Yoketron reveals, previously held by a former student who disgraced the cyber-ninja corps. Prowl is amazed when Yoketron uses a technique known as "processor-over-matter" to open the far wall of the chamber with the power of his mind, revealing a greater chamber beyond, its walls lined with protoforms that the Cyber-Ninja Corps has been charged with protecting. Yoketron challenges Prowl to close the chamber using processor-over-matter, but Prowl is unable to accomplish the task, and Yoketron sends him on an "optics quest" to find his center and become a true cyber-ninja.

Prowl's trip down memory lane is cut off as Sentinel comes down the hallway, and Prowl uses his hologram projector to disguise himself as a cabinet and listen in as Sentinel talks with parties unknown over his communicator. Prowl alerts Jazz before trailing Sentinel to Tigatron Stadium, where he learns that his suspicions were correct: Sentinel is working with Lockdown, who is wearing Yoketron's helmet! Prowl busts up the prisoner exchange, but it is soon revealed that Lockdown has double-crossed Sentinel, having been made a better offer by the Starscream clone. Lockdown and Prowl engage in battle, and Lockdown reveals that he was also a student of Yoketron...

:Returning from his unsuccessful optics quest, Prowl discovers that Yoketron's dojo has been attacked, the protoforms almost all stolen, and Yoketron himself fatally wounded. As Yoketron's spark begins to fade, Prowl recovers one of the remaining protoforms and places his master's spark in it, saving Yoketron's life. Yoketron, however, is appalled by his student's actions; one must never sacrifice a piece of the future in order to save a piece of the past. When Prowl's time comes, Yoketron tells him, he too will understand. As Prowl looks on, Yoketron allows his spark to fade out.

At last, all is clear to Prowl: Lockdown led the attack on the dojo and took the protoforms! Prowl pins Lockdown and demands the return of Yoketron's helmet; Lockdown appears to comply, but the helmet has been booby-trapped, and binds Prowl in a tangle of cables. The captured Prowl is taken to Lockdown's ship, where the bounty hunter intends to remove his jump jets and holo-project in order to complete a duplicate set of the armor that he loaned Prowl during their last encounter. Lying on Lockdow's "operating table", Prowl concentrates, and at last masters processor-over-matter, freeing his body from the cables with the power of his mind.

Meanwhile, Optimus Prime, Jazz, Jetfire and Jetstorm have arrived to rescue Sentinel Prime from the clutches of the Starscream clone, but the fight is not going well, as the clone uses Sentinel for a shield most of the time. The clone takes to the air, but Prime blinds it with a faceful of foam and it crashes into the middle of the stadium field, dropping Sentinel head-first into the ground.

Back aboard Lockdown's ship, the bounty hunter turns to discover that Prowl has freed himself and donned both Yoketron's helmet and the armor, knowing that he will be able to handle its power this time because of the lesson he has finally learned: it is the ninja-bot, not the weapon. The two engage in battle once more, and their fight soon carries them out of the ship and into the middle of the other fight going on in the field outside. Optimus Prime and Jazz are in the process of dropping the stadium's scoreboard onto the Starscream clone, but Prowl and Lockdown get in the way at the last second, before they can stop the giant screen's tumble. As the dust clears, Optimus and Jazz discover that Prowl has used processor-over-matter to protect the combatants from the debris. Optimus quickly stasis-cuffs the Starscream clone, but Lockdown gets away.

A little later, everyone has returned to the Elite Guard ship, where Jetstorm and Jetfire open a communications channel with Cliffjumper on Cybertron. Cliffjumper tells the Autobots about Shockwave's attack on Ultra Magnus, and rather than add to the trouble, Prime refrains from reporting Sentinel's misconduct, instead simply informing Cliffjumper of the capture of the Decepticons on Earth, crediting Prowl. Sentinel thanks Optimus for covering for him, but Optimus promises that once everything is done, he and Sentinel will have it out.

Back at the Autobot base, Jazz compliments Prowl on his armor, and tells him that Yoketron would be proud to have him wear his helmet. Prowl vows to do everything he can to be worthy of it.
Notes
Animation or technical errors
*When the scoreboard crashes onto Prowl, Lockdown and the Liar, Prowl is missing his samurai armor.

Continuity errors
*It's not technically an error, since Prowl has always remained quiet on his history and could just have been holding back from correcting anyone, but this episode reveals that he was online during the Great War, prior to the creation of Omega Supreme, where previous episodes have suggested that none of the main Animated Autobot cast, except for Ratchet, were around back then. Notably, this makes Prowl older than Optimus Prime, which... sits ill, at best.
*Swindle is still in one piece, despite a certain cop telling the Autobots he would be stripped down and sold at an auction. Foreshadowing of his return, or just exaggeration on Fanzone's part?

Transformers references
*Prowl performed the titular "Five Servos of Doom" technique back in "The Elite Guard".
*Swindle is still stuck in vehicle mode after the events of "SUV: Society of Ultimate Villainy".
*Yoketron is named for Takara's lead designer, Hideaki Yoke.

*In addition to Yoketron and Jazz, the busts in Yoketron's little "hall of fame" depict Animated incarnation of various Transformers that have otherwise not appeared in the series. Those clearly visible onscreen include Springer, Sky Garry, Devcon, Dai Atlas, Heavy Load, Star Upper and Roadhandler, but there are many more busts in the room that are only seen from a distance, and are essentially unidentifiable. Derrick J. Wyatt has identified the other Transformers as Ultra Magnus, Star Saber, Tap-Out, Kick-Off, Grandus, Motorarm, Powerhug and Road Rocket.
** Additionally, Wyatt classifies the characters as being specialists in different categories, namely Fencing/Swordfighting/Melee Weapons (Star Saber, Magnus, Dai Atlas, Springer) , Boxing/Kick-Boxing/Street-Fighting (Tap-Out, Star Upper, Sky Garry, Kick-Off, Devcon), Sumo/Wrestling (Grandus, Motorarm, Powerhug and Roadhandler) and Martial Arts/Ninja (Yoketron, Jazz, Heavy Load and Road Rocket). These classifications speak for themselves more often than not (no explanation is needed for the melee-weapon characters, nor for someone like Star Upper, who was all about boxing), but sometimes the rationale is a bit more obscure (Heavy Load, for instance, was only ever noted to be a martial artist in his bio; it never came across in the cartoon), or is a reference to some past fiction (Roadhandler being classified as a wrestler is the main example, being that it's a reference to his stint in the squared circle from the Marvel Comics story, "The Interplanetary Wrestling Championship!"). Conversely, sometimes it's just a joke—Grandus as a sumo, for instance, is purely a gag based on the fact that he's a big fatty fat-fat.
*Tigatron Stadium!
*Lockdown identifies Prowl's techniques as Metallikato and Circuit-Su.
*Prowl's samurai armor was previously seen in "A Fistful of Energon", in which Lockdown last appeared.
*Yoketron's Spark container is similar to design to Big Convoy's Matrix, with two "L" shaped handles instead of U shaped ones. Fitting, when one considers Yoketron's Japanese-based aesthetic.
*One of the upgrades seen on Lockdown's shelves is Soundwave's G1 shoulder-mounted missile launcher.

Real-world references
*The title of the episode is apparently derived from the 1972 Hong Kong martial arts movie Five Fingers Of Death. The movie's name is a regular source of recycling, including wrestler Bret Hart's "Five Moves Of Doom" and the mockumentary "18 Fingers Of Death" to name a few.
*Tigatron Stadium is named after and largely based on Tiger Stadium, the former home field of the Detroit Tigers, which has been partially demolished.

Trivia
*Like the previous episode, this episode received an early online debut when a copy loaded onto the Cartoon Network website server, intended to go live after the episode premiered, was leaked out on March 27, over a week before the episode premiered on television.
*The voice cast for this episode does not credit David Kaye with the role of Cliffjumper.

*Having three faces warrants three mouthclamps it seems, as the animation depicts the mouthclamps on Blitzwing's faces rotating when he switches personality.
*While trying to identify the helmet Optimus Prime saw, Prowl brings up the images of the helmet's worn by Ultra Magnus and Blitzwing on the computer.
*In this episode, we finally see the Cybetronian altmode of Prowl. The full Autobot maincast is now covered.

To be fair, Detroit has also suffered at the hands of its own human population.

Among their troubles were robots flinging flaming fuel tanks into the air Home Is Where the Spark Is, robots smashing an entire parking lot full of cars Blast from the Past, robots getting thrown through the roof of the local sports arena Total Meltdown, robots inducing rolling electrical blackouts across the city Thrill of the Hunt, robots disguised as rocket-powered cars crashing into things Nanosec (episode), robots sucking the life force from the city's population Along Came a Spider, robots sparking a massive automaton rebellion Sound and Fury, robots obliterating construction sites while flat-out trying to kill one another Lost and Found (episode), robots kidnapping young children from their homes Survival of the Fittest, robots unable to stop the destruction of the city without destroying half of it Headmaster (episode), robots blasting holes in major downtown skyscrapers Megatron Rising - Part I, robots destroying downtown buildings and bridges while trying to kill each other Megatron Rising - Part II, good robots driving over cars in the street The Elite Guard Return of the Headmaster, evil robots threatening to bomb passenger trains Mission Accomplished, robots dumping garbage all over the city before threatening to destroy it with super-powered nanobots, Garbage In, Garbage Out, robots destroying overpasses and stealing construction materials Rise of the Constructicons, robots shutting down every other mechanical device in the city SUV: Society of Ultimate Villainy, robots rampaging through the city while trying to find devices Black Friday (episode), and robots raiding motor supply stores and destroying cars stuck in traffic jams Sari, No One's Home.

(real name A.A.

The Angry Archer didst reveal himself from within the shadows of the night. Dropping down on a passing horseless carriage, he bade its occupants stand and deliver. Howe'er, the local enforcers of the law didst vex him with their approach. This worried him not, for a swift rescue carriage was passing. Latching on't, he didst away with glee. But, forsooth, the carriage didst shift form to become a metal giant, who defeated the Archer with reckless abandon.

Whilst the Angry Archer pled that he desired naught but fame and fortune, flying cameras arrived anon to record his humiliating fate. The metal giant then didst mock him most cruelly, advising the Archer he would have to settle for fame. Oh, what a twisted move by the fickle hand of fate. Home Is Where the Spark Is

At a later date, the Angry Archer attempted to abscond with one of many horseless carriages. Howe'er, after a golden carriage shifted form into a sun-colored champion, he fled the scene and was apprehended by yon ghostly knight. Attention Surplus Disorder

The Angry Archer was next espied fleeing from constables with his latest ill-gotten finery. His escape was madeth easier when said constables literally ran into Wreck-Gar and wer't dashed rightly senseless. The Archer convinced the clockwork squire to journey with him and help with future roguish gallantry, and did even give him his new appellation. Alas, yon giant couldst not distinguish a difference 'twixt jewels, tools, and spools, so much of the bounty would ne'er be seen again. In their next sortie to lay low an armored coach, the two highwaymen ran afoul of yet more celestial knights, who convinced the tractable trash-toting titan to turn 'gainst the valiant Archer. The befuddled behemoth didst then try to "catch" his former cohort by hurling him high into yon blue sky. When danger reared its ugly head, the Archer turned his tail and fled. Garbage In, Garbage Out

The Angry Archer didst later sortie to form a sacred order with like-minded knaves, namely a velocity craving dervish, a cherubic maiden and a comely wench commanding mastery over Father Time himself. The merry band allied with a merchant of dubious caliber who offered them a stout sailing vessel's weight in treasure for their larcenous services. But ho, their benefactor was a celestial dark knight whose whims wouldst bring bloody rapine. Thus disadvantaged, they didst ally with yon sun-colored champion to avenge their wrongs. But, forsooth, they broke this pact when their quest was achieved, and were jailed by the city constable. SUV: Society of Ultimate Villainy
Trivia
* This character's name and face are a play on Transformers design director Aaron Archer. The initial designs were conceived by Cartoon Network without Archer's awareness, and his original name would have been "Aaron the Archer," then "Aaron the Angry Archer."

* Once he learned of the character, the only change Aaron was able to request was to make the Archer left-handed, like Aaron himself. The Archer appears to be ambidextrous, though.

* His anachronistic robotic left hand was added to point out that even such a historically immersed character would still be taking advantage of future Detroit's advanced technology.

* The Angry Archer's arrowhead arsenal <strike>ancludes</strike> includes....
** Magnetic grappling lines
** Laser cutters
** Steel fists
** Grenades

* He's also a parody of both Robin Hood, and the Green Arrow and other archer-themed supercharacters, if you hadn't noticed.

* Angry Archer's voice is Jeff Bennett's John Cleese voice, which he's used for characters in other cartoons, including Lord Bravery (Legally, it's Lord Smoked Meats and Fishes) from 'Freakazoid.

* His theme music is evocative of the sound of a medieval harpischord.
If mighty Megatron were to command Lugnut to jump, the powerful Decepticon would be in the upper atmosphere long before his master could specify how high. In Lugnut's optic, bold, heroic Megatron embodies the Decepticon cause, and his devotion is total. It's easy to misinterpret Lugnut’s blind zeal for a lack of overall processing power, but this is not the case. Although he isn't much of a thinker or planner, Lugnut does not care, for wise Megatron is brilliant enough for a thousand Decepticons. His master makes the plans, and Lugnut carries them out. However, that blind loyalty is his weakness. Although innovative on the battle field, he does little thinking about anything else.

Besides his compulsion to serve Megatron, the only other driving force in his programming is to destroy the Autobots. Renowned throughout Cybertron as one of the most destructive fighters for the Decepticon cause, Lugnut has no time or patience for contemplation or strategy when he could just as easily level an entire Autobot battalion with a single explosive punch. He knows that his unparalleled strength, endurance, and seemingly limitless missile payload is enough to serve glorious, bold, fresh-scented, bright and shiny MEGATRON! Autobots that know him know the only way to survive a fight with him is to stay clear of his path.

He will only keep company with Decepticons who are as loyal to the grand and imperious Megatron as he is. Traitors and disgraces such as Starscream and Lockdown are not worthy of mention, let alone being in the presence of the glorious Megatron. Granted, even magnanimous Megatron himself can get a little tired of Lugnut's praises, but he keeps it to himself, lest Lugnut should lose faith in mighty Megatron.
Lugnut was on board the Nemesis with Megatron, Starscream, Blitzwing and Blackarachnia when they discovered the AllSpark. Doubting that it was near, Starscream insulted Megatron (out of the latter's presence, of course) as a fool who was chasing a ghost. Furious, Lugnut leapt in and roared at the "traitor" about how Megatron would lead the Decepticons to a new age. Blackarachnia mocked him, asking if the speech was memorized or just hardwired into his one-track processor. Blitzwing indirectly defended Lugnut by insulting Blackarachnia, but soon burst into song, prompting all the Decepticons to argue until the entry of Megatron silenced them. Later, when it became clear the Nemesis was going to crash into an exploding space bridge, Lugnut showed uncharacteristic intelligence by fleeing in an escape pod. Transform and Roll Out!

Lugnut and Blitzwing, upon leaving the warship, returned to New Kaon. Lugnut, refusing to believe that Megatron was offline, destroyed a statue Blitzwing had made in memory of their fallen leader. Blitzwing was not pleased. The Arrival issue 1

After finding out Blitzwing had made arrangements with a bounty hunter in order to locate and exact revenge on the Autobots, Lugnut was furious. His fury (along with Blitzwing's responding fury) were taken advantage of by an unscrupulous arms dealer seeking to make a profit off the two in a never-ending escalating arms race. Things ended poorly for said arms dealer, however, once Lugnut and Blitzwing caught on to the fact they were both being played. The Arrival issue 5 (Although odds are, if Lugnut had known just what Blitzwing had offered Lockdown, he may not have been so forgiving). The Arrival issue 4

When the Allspark gave off the radiation burst during Prime and Starscream's battle, the signal served as a beacon, the Decepticons on New Kaon picking up the signal. Lugnut took this as evidence his leader was still online. The Arrival issue 1

After arriving on Earth's Moon, Lugnut and Blitzwing discovered the Nemesis, near where Blitzwing mentioned that Lockdown had last reported. Lugnut did not care for the bounty hunter or his mission, for he still believed that Megatron was alive. Heading to Earth, the two crash landed at a construction site, where Lugnut interrogated a crane on Megatron's whereabouts with little success. After randomly destroying everything in sight, Lugnut and Blitzwing had a battle with the Autobots. Utilizing his back-mounted missile arsenal, Lugnut easily outgunned the Autobots himself, and was able to throw Bulkhead around like he was nothing. When he demanded to know where Megatron was, Bumblebee mentioned that he was reduced to a "fireball somewhere over Cleveland". Screaming "Megatron lives", Lugnut knocked out the Autobots with his Punch of Kill Everything (which Blitzwing says he told him "a thousand times" to warn him before using), which convinced Megatron that Lugnut could be trusted. He contacted only Lugnut, who, in his eagerness, dragged a confused Blitzwing away from the fight. Blitzwing thought that Lugnut had finally overheated his motherboard and headbutted him, who responded in kind and sent Blitzwing plummetting straight smack dab in the middle of a military base. When they heard police cars approaching, Blitzwing suggested that they lay low to determine their strengths, but Lugnut planned to slaughter them en masse. An annoyed Megatron told him to shut up and get a disguise.

That evening, Megatron contacted Lugnut, uploading a sample of the Key's energy signature, and instructed him to use it to find the AllSpark itself, which would restore Megatron. Heading for Lake Erie, the two Decepticons tracked down the Autobots' ship. Once they'd followed the Autobots below its surface, Lugnut showed remarkable intelligence by being reluctant to enter the underwater smokescreen Optimus Prime had created, although he still entered to follow Blitzwing. Obscured by kicked-up dust, his targeting systems still found a body in the haze. Pleased that his targeting sensors had not failed him, he fired—on Blitzwing. The Autobots seemed to have the upper hand when Lugnut again displayed unexpected smarts by transforming and using his jet thrusters to blow away the obscuring dirt. Unfortunately for him and Blitzwing, just as they were going destroy the Autobots, Ratchet and Sari Sumdac brought the weapon systems of the Autobots' ship online. The two Decepticons were blasted to the shores of Lake Erie in several pieces, severing Megatron's radio link with Lugnut and thus leaving the poor lunk to believe that his master had forsaken him. The next morning, Starscream appeared and promised to repair them—if they swore loyalty to him. Lost and Found (episode)

For reasons beyond understanding, Lugnut agreed to Starscream's request, or at least pay lip service to him, but was quick to remind the upstart that they served not by choice. However, when Megatron contacted him, Lugnut immediately repledged himself to Megatron. The Decepticon leader told Lugnut to locate the Key and bring it to him. Taking it from Ratchet, they flew to Sumdac Tower, where Lugnut blabbed the whole Decepticon thing to Isaac Sumdac, forcing him to kneel to Megatron. Now that he knew Lugnut wasn't totally bonkers (like him), Blitzwing used the Key to help Megatron repair his body and restore him. Megatron Rising - Part 1

As Megatron proceeded to beat up the Autobots, Blitzwing and Lugnut decided not to intervene, but to keep an eye on Professor Sumdac. As Megatron called his loyal troops to him, Lugnut prostrated himself before his master, where he briefly found himself humiliated by Starscream, but then got to look on as Megatron made an example of the schemer. The Decepticons took to the air, locating and attacking the Autobots' ship as it travelled from the lake to the Tower, then from the Tower to Dinobot Island, where it was shot down. Bulkhead leapt into the air and Jet-Judo'd Lugnut, and the two landed in the forest. Although Lugnut was the physically stronger of the pair and tossed Bulkhead around like a beach ball, his zeal let him down. He prepared to use his powerful punch...and Bulkhead slammed the ignition point with his wrecking ball, causing a powerful explosion that defeated the brute. Megatron Rising - Part 2

After the battle with Bulkhead, Lugnut helped the Decepticons set up a base in a mine, even though his left arm kept falling off. Not realizing that the mine's carbon deposits shielded their energy signatures from Autobot detection, Lugnut did not understand why they had to hide. He was even more confused by Megatron's plan to conquer Cybertron, but this didn't prevent him from hitting a doubting Blitzwing. Things became clearer to Lugnut when Megatron said that they would use space bridge technology, one of the two reasons they lost the Great War, to reach and conquer Cybertron. First, they needed Isaac Sumdac, who had been captured by Megatron, in order to reverse-engineer the missing pieces of the space bridge data Megatron had copied. When a servant-bot in Sumdac's enclosure malfunctioned, Lugnut accused the professor of sabotaging Megatron's plans. However, he backed down at the behest of Megatron, who learned the servant-bot had acted as it did because it had a fragment of the AllSpark in its circuits. The Elite Guard

Lugnut and Blitzwing were sent by Megatron to steal a tachyon generator from the Elite Guard's ship. Lugnut was able to acquire the generator, when Starscream appeared and tried to destroy Megatron. After the Decepticon leader offlined him, Lugnut confirmed that Starscream was dead. After all, there was no spark in his spark chamber, so he had to be dead. Despite this, Starscream kept coming back and trying to kill Megatron, and Lugnut spent the rest of the night repeatedly throwing his corpse into a river. Mission Accomplished

When Lugnut later detected an AllSpark fragment, Megatron sent him to retrieve it, partially to be rid of his sycophantic subject for a while. Discovering it in a garbage truck, Lugnut believed it was being transported by a human. He was thus surprised when the truck transformed into a robot named Wreck-Gar. The simple-minded robot soon confused poor Lugnut with his habit of mirroring what was being said to him, so Lugnut came to believe that Wreck-Gar was a Decepticon like him. Pleased that the new Transformer was a Decepticon, Lugnut celebrated the discovery with a resounding cry of "All hail Megatron!" Wreck-Gar followed suit...then asked who Megatron was.

When the Autobots arrived and verbally accosted Wreck-Gar, Lugnut came out of hiding and prepared to use his bomb punch on Ratchet. Wreck-Gar then responded to the threatened use of the Punch of Kill Everything with the universal greeting...and a high-five. Despite the premature detonation, Lugnut was left unharmed, but grew increasingly impatient with Wreck-Gar's lack of comprehension. Attempting to attack the Autobots, he took off in plane mode with Wreck-Gar still on his back. However, when Wreck-Gar caused his tail/mace to become infected with matter-eating microbots, Lugnut panicked and demanded that Wreck-Gar get the microbots off him. The obliging robot responded by simply unscrewing Lugnut's tail assembly, leaving Lugnut rather unsteady in the air. Garbage In, Garbage Out

Later on, Lugnut was sent with Blitzwing to recover parts for Megatron's new space bridge, and the two began stealing caches of construction materials. During one such raid, the Autobots became involved, and Lugnut's singlemindedness meant that he practically ignored Bumblebee's stinger attack, not even slowing down until a pipe fell in his path and sent him falling. He then departed in his bomber mode to unload the material. Sometime later, he and Blitzwing began moving two huge containers of heavy supplies, and Lugnut was most offended when Blitzwing noted how Megatron was curiously absent when they were moving such heavy equipment. Soon afterward, they encountered the Constructicons. Lugnut was suspicious of these newly created machines, but Blitzwing convinced him to allow them to do the heavy lifting until they reached base, at which point they would eliminate the two newcomers. At base, Blitzwing kept them distracted so Lugnut could activate his rocket punch, but at the last second, Megatron told him to stop. Unfortunately, this caused poor Lugnut to lose balance, fall into a cave and detonate his weapon in his own face. Ever the trooper, he tersely acknowledged he was still all right. Rise of the Constructicons

Soon after the space bridge was near completion, the Autobots found the Decepticons' hideout and attempted to stop them. Lugnut and Blitzwing attacked the Autobots invading their underground base, but they ended up getting stasis cuffed by Blurr. A Bridge Too Close, Part I

Lugnut was soon freed by the Constructicons and cheered when Megatron announced they'd be invading Cybertron via space bridge, but was interrupted by the invading Autobot ship. When given the task of stopping Omega Supreme, Lugnut remarked that the large Autobot's size was no match for their leader's glory. This inspired the female Starscream clone to attack Omega's legs. Lugnut attempted to stop Omega Supreme by firing his entire missile supply at the enormous Autobot. Instead, he was blown away by Omega's lasers. A Bridge Too Close, Part II
Lugnut survived the battle, and later was found by the Autobots after Professor Sumdac disabled the Decepticon signal dampeners. He attacked, demanding the the whereabouts of Megatron and creating the world's biggest pothole in the road. After a brief battle, the Autobots managed to cuff him, but found he was too heavy for them to pull out. When Bulkhead sent a distress call, Prime decided Lugnut wasn't going anywhere and went to rescue Bulkhead. Upon returning however, they found the pit empty and Lugnut out of scanner range. He had been freed by the honest-as-the-day-is-long Starscream clone, who wholeheartedly promised Lugnut he'd never reveal his humiliating defeat to Megatron. Later, Lugnut used his Punch of Kill Everything to create gigantic craters in a forest. As it turns out, he was helping Blitzwing build a new Decepticon swimming pool, but the lunatic couldn't settle on where it should be located, forcing Lugnut to explode things over and over and over. Explosive Punch
: Part of the third wave of Animated Voyager-class toys, Luggy transforms into a big ol' retro-futuristic bomber plane that includes features from many historic designs, including the B-25 Mitchell and the Heinkel He 111. He also suffers from Bulkhead syndrome, as his robot mode is tiny compared to most Voyagers. A good portion of his vehicle mode transforms into his big-ass "power mace", almost as big as Lugnut himself. He features three autotransform gimmicks in his head, mace, and hands. The mace connects with a special tab into Lugnut's hand and activates its gimmick: tapping the bottom of the mace on the ground while he holds it causes the engine pods to pop open. Pushing down the area on his back where the mace is stored flips his head up and splits his cockpit halves to the sides of his chest. The small purple tabs on his lower arms open and close his claws in unison. Pushing the mace into one of the hands causes it to close around the mace.

: The figure's paint deco shown in promotional photography and the boxart depicts Lugnut's teal areas with highly metallic, almost silver coloration and a slightly lighter shade of purple. The final figure, however, has a darker purple with an much more show-accurate flat teal with no trace of the metallic colouring.

: There have been reports of his cockpit halves not closing properly in vehicle mode due to an overly tightened screw inside his torso. It cannot be corrected without dismantling the figure. The head automorph area also tends to flop slightly, not staying in place in vehicle mode. It is unknown if future releases will remedy this.
Trivia
*At BotCon 2008, it was revealed that Lugnut's name derives from an earlier stage in his development; at one point he was going to be more Frankenstein's Monster-esque, with giant bolts (or "nuts") sticking out from his neck. While this concept was effectively discarded, the character kept "Lugnut" for his final name... but it works well enough on its own, as he is a big lug and a bit of a nut.
* According to the Decepticon character descriptions sent out in the initial Cartoon Network press release for Transformers Animated, Lugnut "carries a payload of mega-bombs and can spew liquid napalm with laser-like accuracy". Alas, his napalm-spewing ability hasn't shown up anywhere.
*Derrick Wyatt and Marty Isenberg admitted at BotCon 2008 that they didn't know that Lugnut's toy had the battle mace, as it was a Hasbro creation. Once they learned of its existence, they slipped it into season 2, and it makes its first appearance in "Garbage In, Garbage Out".
*At Botcon 2008, Marty Isenberg took a liking to the term "Punch of Kill Everything" used in the fandom to refer to Lugnut's attack, and said he would find a way to work it in. Sure enough, in the the comic The Arrival #4 penned by Isenberg, Lugnut's attack was named as such.
Fortunately, she has Bumblebee and Bulkhead to help with that, and she claims that Bee is the best friend she's ever had. In fact, she's become very possessive of all her robotic friends.

The AllSpark seems to view her with great regard, bestowing upon her a Key with miraculous powers (though her guardian, the robotic dog Sparkplug, thinks it's just another chew toy). This is one of several events that have cast doubt on her true physical nature and identity. She has also recently discovered that she lacks typical identification, such as a birth certificate, adoption papers, or a social security number...

...and then there's that whole robotic elbow issue.

Sari's origins are currently shrouded in mystery. She came into existence when, through unknown means, a Cybertronian protoform appeared in Isaac Sumdac's laboratory. The baffled scientist reached out to touch the small, liquid metal creature, and received an electric shock that knocked him unconscious. When he awoke, the protoform had scanned his DNA and reconfigured into a techno-organic creature that appeared to be a human baby. Sumdac "adopted" the robot child and named it "Sari", and raised it as his own daughter over the next seven years. Understandably, Sumdac was reluctant to let Sari out into the world, and instead kept her mostly confined to Sumdac Tower, educating her with robot tutors and creating robotic companions like her pet Sparkplug to keep her company. TransWarped

One day, when Sparkplug stole her security key card, Sari chased it outside and was confronted by the Autobots Bumblebee and Bulkhead, who hadn't quite yet fathomed what humans were, and spoke to her as if she were Sparkplug's pet. Naturally, she freaked out, but quickly befriended Bumblebee once he saved her from a giant bug that had grown from her father's nanite experiment gone awry. Stowing away on Bumblebee and coming aboard the Autobots' ship, she came across the AllSpark, which infused part of its power into her security key. This allowed her to heal Transformers, such as the injured Prowl, earning her brownie points with the 'Bots. She also managed to talk the police down from shooting the Autobots, saying they were friendly (except Ratchet, who was grumpy, but not evil). Sari later helped teach the Autobots about Earth and humans, explaining their method of reproduction to a very startled Optimus Prime.

During the unveiling of her father's new transit system, Starscream arrived and attacked. Bumblebee took a shot meant for Sari, allowing Starscream to capture him, Professor Sumdac, the Mayor, and Captain Fanzone. Sari came up with the idea to distract Starscream while she and Prowl rescued the others (even faking some tears to make it happen). The Key later saved Optimus Prime's life when she used it, in concert with the AllSpark itself, to revive his Spark. Transform and Roll Out!

Sari would go on to be Bumblebee's usual partner in crime, encouraging him to engage in such questionable activities as high-profile wrestling matches Total Meltdown and installing rocket boosters to make him go faster. Nanosec (episode) Sari likely hangs out with Bumblebee because she knows she can scare the holy bePrimus out of him. Along Came a Spider

On Sari's eighth birthday, the only other kids who turned up were the children of her dad's employees. None of them really wanted to be there and soon focused their attention on the Autobots. Sari was left alone and shunned along with Bulkhead, both morose that the kids didn't like them. Her father's present, a music robot called Soundwave, cheered her up, and she soon began neglecting her friendship with Bulkhead in favour of her new toy. Repeated uses of the Key turned Soundwave into a malevolent, sentient being who tried to enslave Humanity, and she learnt she'd been wrong to ignore her friend. Sound and Fury

When the Decepticons Blitzwing and Lugnut arrived on Earth, the two Decepticons manhandled the Autobots. Although they survived, it made apparent the fact that more would come looking for the AllSpark, so the Autobots decided to repair their ship and leave Earth. Sari's reaction to this was displeasure (in the form of a high pitch shout of NO!). However, they needed the Key to assist Ratchet in repairing the ship. Sari was unwilling to help them leave, nor was she pleased to work with a grouch like Ratchet (who was not that keen on working with a Protoform), but they managed to get her to the ship. While alone with the AllSpark, Sari decided to try and sabotage the ship, thereby keeping the Autobots on Earth (and dooming her species to enslavement and/or extinction) but the Key repaired the damage. After that, the AllSpark showed her an image of a giant Transformer. In her panic, Sari opened the air lock, nearly drowning, but Ratchet saved her. Ratchet then explained that they were leaving because they couldn't risk anything happening to Earth or her. Swayed by his compassion, Sari used the Key to reactivate the Autobot ship's decommissioned weapons, reducing Blitzwing and Lugnut to pieces. Lost and Found (episode)

Eventually, Optimus Prime decided that the Key was no longer safe in Sari's hands, and he ordered Ratchet to take it from her. Distraught, Sari ran off crying, only to be captured later by Blackarachnia, who was looking for the Key herself. Sari basically told her "too little, too late," and the two seemed to have a heart-to-heart about their gripes with the Autobots. Megatron Rising - Part 1

While Sari was actually misleading Blackarachnia in circles around the frozen Lake Erie, she was grabbed by Ratchet as he brought the Autobots' ship out of the lake. She was ticked that Ratchet had lost the Key and that her dad had helped rebuild Megatron, but the blame game ceased after the ship crashed on Dinobot Island. Prime told the Sumdacs to stay with the ship while they went to fight off Megatron. Fearing that they might die, Isaac Sumdac said that there was something that he needed to tell Sari, but she was more interested in finding something else the AllSpark could charge. The AllSpark refused to respond, other than cryptically displaying an image of a DNA strand. Suddenly, Megatron and Prime burst through the hull of the ship, and during their fight, the Key once again fell into her hands. Sari tossed it to Optimus Prime, who used the Key destroy the AllSpark and disperse its energy. Acknowledging that he had been wrong in taking from her, Optimus Prime gave the Key back to Sari, saying that as the most powerful Cybertronian artifact on Earth, it was too important to be left in the hands of an Autobot.

Unfortunately, all was not well, for Sari could not find her dad...as he was now a prisoner of Megatron. Megatron Rising - Part 2

After her father's disappearance, Sari took over running Sumdac Systems. Board chairman Porter C. Powell opposed her, saying that she was too young and wasting company resources searching for her father. When the Cybertron Elite Guard arrived, Sari was cut off from the Autobots and her only source of emotional support. She soon needed them, as police drones coming out of a Sumdac assembly line began to malfunction, and Powell was unwilling to do anything about it. Sneaking aboard the Elite Guard ship, Sari put the fear of god into Jazz before Bulkhead explained that Sari was okay (and Bumblebee explained that Sentinel Prime was a jerk). With Optimus, Prowl, and Jazz's help, Sari managed to get into the plant's assembly line and shut down the systems. When she returned home, she found that she had been locked out of her office, as Powell was now CEO and Chairman of Sumdac Systems. Insisting that it was still her company, Sari was shocked when Powell revealed that she had no birth certificate, no adoption papers, and no social security number. Powell's smug revelation made Sari realize that not only was there no proof that she was Sumdac's daughter, there was no legal proof she even existed. The Elite Guard

After that, Powell kicked Sari out of Sumdac Tower, took Tutor Bot and Sparkplug, and gave her room to Henry Masterson as an office. With nowhere else to go, she went to Autobot HQ. Bumblebee and Bulkhead tried their best to cheer her up, employing such methods as loud music, inedible food, and unedifying teaching lesson. All they did was make things worse. Eventually, Prowl put the two bots in their place and told them to listen to her. Sari opened up about all her frustrations, such as her missing father, being kicked out of her home, her fear of Powell ruining her father's company, and the fact that there was no record of her existence. Bumblebee promised that they were there for her, no matter what, and Sari finally started to feel a little better. The Return of the Headmaster

And then Ultra Magnus decided that the Autobots couldn't be there for her, as the Decepticons had begun attacking the fringes of Autobot space, so Prime's crew were needed elsewhere. The Autobots decided that Captain Fanzone was the best human with whom to leave her. (Granted, their list of known humans was rather short and included Prometheus Black and Nanosec.) Before anything close to adoption could occur, they managed to convince Magnus that there were Decepticons on Earth (mostly because Starscream fell out of the sky and landed about ten feet in front of them), allowing them to stay on planet. Mission Accomplished

Sari amused herself after settling in with the Autobots by hooking up illegal satellite TV, which she used to watch pay-per-view races. (The races were also illegal, as the Autobots found out from Fanzone.) When Bumblebee wanted to join the races to compete against a mysterious blue car, Sari came along with him. Sari discovered that man in charge of the races, Master Disaster, had a remote control containing an AllSpark fragment, which he used to control the blue car. Blitzwing showed up to take the fragment, so and Bumblebee had to run for their lives. Eventually, she used the remote to get rid of Blitzwing, allowing the Autobots to get the AllSpark fragment. After that, Bumblebee severed her satellite connection, saying that he had to set a better example for her. Sari advised him not to try too hard, or she wouldn't recognize him. Velocity

Sari was awakened from her night's rest by the loud cavorting of the Constructobots. A game of flattened-oil-barrel frisbee severed her trademark pigtails, which left her none too pleased. Rise of the Constructicons Subsequently she proved that she was still more mature than Bumblebee in a number of ways, warning him off of taking on villains solo just to prove a point. Sadly he wouldn't realize this until the Decepticon behind the villains' success, Swindle was revealed. By then it was too late, and she had to team up with those same villains to take his immobilized chassis to Sumdac Tower. Alarmed that the receptionist robot was now declaring it to be Powell Tower, she utilized the Key to rectify that little situation before heading off and successfully disabling Swindle's technology jamming device. SUV: Society of Ultimate Villainy

A while after, Prowl and Sari were honing their agility using the factory's old assembly line. Sari claimed she could complete the exercise at full speed, like Prowl, but it was set to a quarter-speed, which proved to be too much for her at that and got a massive whack upside the head for her pains. After the Autobots discovered the return of the Constructicons, Sari was left at the base at the command of Optimus, who told reminded her that they had almost decapitated her the last time they met. Also, he doubted she would be able to take on a pair of two-story robots. At first Sari sulked at her situation, before realizing that she was completely alone in the base and did what any eight-year-old kid would do in an abandoned factory: raid the vending machines, use cranes as miniature G-force slings and try to take on Prowl's obstacle course at full speed (which went as well as last time).

While listening to her music, Sari failed to notice the alarms going off, which heralded the invasion of the Constructicons who were looking for a drink. After the two louts accidentally crushed her cell phone and left her with the option of sneaking to the communications room to call the Autobots for help, Sari decided to take on the two bots using her trusty hockey stick (which shatters soon after she strikes them with it). She escaped and made it to the communication room, contacting Bumblebee who told her to hide and wait until they finish fighting off the recently appeared Blitzwing, who was also looking for the Constucticons. Sari concluded that it would be too long and set up a trap for the two invaders, using three barrels of oil to trip them up and the plant's assembly line to knock them around for a while, forcing Mixmaster and Scrapper to flee. The Autobots returned to find the place in ruins, but Sari showed them that she was all right. Optimus both apologized for his previous comments and lauded her for her bravery, and all was well for Sari—if she could just explain away the mountain of candy wrappers Optimus discovered... Sari, No One's Home

Sari later posed for a Picasso-style picture done by Bulkhead. The results were...interesting, to say the least. After criticism by the Autobots, a depressed Bulkhead walked out, and Sari and Bumblebee went to cheer him up. During a walk in the park, Megatron attacked them, carrying an imprisoned Isaac Sumdac with him, and Sari realized that Megatron had kidnapped him all those months ago. (Apparently, that hadn't occurred to anyone else.) While she looked on helplessly, Megatron managed to kidnap Bulkhead. When she returned to the plant, she heard the Autobot Blurr reveal that Professor Sumdac was helping the Decepticons build a space bridge to conquer Cybertron. Sari refused to believe that her father was willingly helping the Decepticons and got a promise out of Optimus Prime to bring him home alive. Heading to Dinobot Island, Ratchet and Sari worked to bring the Autobots' ship back online. Ratchet realized that they would need riskier repairs to bring achieve their goal. A Bridge Too Close, Part I

As Ratchet worked, he explained that the ship was an Autobot who had sacrificed his spark two million years ago. Sari was doubtful that it would come back online...until it spoke to her. She proceeded to use the Key on several of the ship's systems, under Ratchet's direction, until it was able to take off. Taking it to the mine where the Decepticons were based, Sari managed to give the ship enough power to transform into its robot mode, Omega Supreme. The massive Autobot turned the tide of the battle, but sacrificed himself to save the others from being sucked into the space bridge. The Autobots managed to escape, with both Sari and Isaac in tow, and Isaac revealed that he had been forced to work with the Decepticons. Overjoyed that her father was safe and still a good guy, Sari dubbed Isaac Sumdac the most honest and trust-worthy guy that anyone could hope to find. It was at that point that everyone assembled noticed that the skin on Sari's elbow had torn away, revealing robotic circuity underneath. A Bridge Too Close, Part II

Although Sari was at first scared by this strange discovery, her fear quickly gave way to anger at her father from having kept the secret that she was a robot from her for years. As they returned to Detroit, Sumdac explained how he had found Sari in his lab years before, but the girl remained incredulous, and things only got worse when the pair confronted Porter C. Powell and Henry Masterson back in Sumdac Tower. When the two men refused to vacate the building, Sari's strained patience snapped, and her hands suddenly transformed into energy projectors, which created shockwave that knocked the pair of do-badders into the elevator. Struggling to comprehend her true nature, Sari went with the Autobots to their headquarters, unable to even be in the same building as the man she could no longer even think of as her father. Optimus Prime did his best to patch up the damaged family relationship by tricking Sari and Sumdac into meeting with each other at Burger Bot, but it wasn't until Masterson returned with his Headmaster unit attached to Starscream's body that the bonds between father and daughter were repaired, as Sari and Sumdac defended each other from the villain.

Sari quickly began to get a handle on her new Cybertronian powers, learning to project spheres of energy from her hands, but the Autobots still refused to allow her to accompany them into battle against a rock-like alien creature that was soon transwarped into the middle of Detroit. Seeking a means to increase her powers, Sari turned her Key upon herself, and underwent a surprising metamorphosis: her body was "aged" so that she appeared as if she were a teenager, and she sprouted powerful battle armor equipped with jet-skates, arm-blades and an energy-hammer. Although Sari's new powers amazed the Autobots when they allowed her to make short work of the rock-alien, things soon started to go wrong when the Key's energy began overloading Sari's circuitry, causing her to run out of control. Unable to control her own body and causing objects around her to explode with her merest touch, Sari nearly killed Bumblebee by stabbing him with one of her blades before the Autobots were able to remove the key from her system. Even with the Key extracted, Sari's energies were still running wild, and she was in danger of exploding and destroying the entire city before Ratchet knocked her out with his EMP generator. Once they returned to the Autobot base, he bypassed the circuitry responsible for her overload.

As Sari convalesced, her father at her side, Megatron returned to Earth in control of Omega Supreme. When Starscream took control of Omega away from Megatron and locked down all the entrance hatches to prevent the Autobots from infiltrating the robot (again), Optimus Prime was forced to contemplate undoing the repairs done to Sari, and using her to stop the rampaging superweapon as a last-ditch desperation play - and came to the point of ordering Ratchet to do so. Fortunately for Sari's (and Detroit's) continued existence, Ratchet refused, and the Autobots ultimately transwarped the threat off Earth. Soon after, Sari awoke, and apologized to her friends for her foolishness, whlie her father apologized to her for holding back the truth for so long. TransWarped
When Starscream and his clones seized the Autobot base, Sari immediately fled to Dinobot Island to get help. She found out the Dinobots were being made grouchy by the constant rain, and so promised they could stay in the Autobot base until it stopped if they drove out the Decepticons. That made Sari Grimlock's friend, and left the Autobots crying when they saw the weather forecast. Transformers Comic issue 17
Later, while watching a basketball game, Sari had to help stop an attack on the city by the villainous Crossroads. She'd met the supervillain when he worked as Sumdac Systems but his awesome disguise of a blue strip of cloth on his head threw her for a few minutes. Once she'd worked it out, she was able to inform the Autobots he was heading for Sumdac Tower and helped see to his defeat. Animated Comic issue 3
Detroit, Michigan is a city in the United States of America. It is located near Lake Erie.

Fiction
Transformers Animated

Among their troubles were robots flinging flaming fuel tanks into the air Home Is Where the Spark Is, robots smashing an entire parking lot full of cars Blast from the Past, robots getting thrown through the roof of the local sports arena Total Meltdown, robots inducing rolling electrical blackouts across the city Thrill of the Hunt, robots disguised as rocket-powered cars crashing into things Nanosec (episode), robots sucking the life force from the city's population Along Came a Spider, robots sparking a massive automaton rebellion Sound and Fury, robots obliterating construction sites while flat-out trying to kill one another Lost and Found (Animated episode), robots kidnapping young children from their homes Survival of the Fittest, robots unable to stop the destruction of the city without destroying half of itHeadmaster (episode), robots blasting holes in major downtown skyscrapers Megatron Rising - Part I, robots hurling each other into downtown buildings and bridges while trying to kill each other Megatron Rising - Part II, good robots driving over cars in the street The Elite Guard Return of the Headmaster, evil robots threatening to bomb passenger trains Mission Accomplished, robots dumping garbage all over the city before threatening to destroy it with super-powered nanobots, Garbage In, Garbage Out, robots destroying overpasses and stealing construction materials Rise of the Constructicons, robots shutting down every other mechanical device in the city SUV: Society of Ultimate Villainy, robots rampaging through the city while trying to find devices Black Friday (episode), and robots raiding motor supply stores Sari, No One's Home.

To be fair, Detroit has also suffered at the hands of its own human population. These include humans with fancy weapons attempting to rob armored cars Home Is Where the Spark Is Garbage In, Garbage Out, humans going on steroid-induced rampages Total Meltdown, humans risking city-destroying explosions by stealing incredibly volatile substances Nanosec (episode), humans waging rampages against war toys Sound and Fury, humans attempting to detonate nuclear reactors in blatant attempts to destroy the city Headmaster (episode), humans organizing illegal street races without regard for the safety of other drivers and pedestrians Velocity, and human crime syndicates stealing various pieces of equipment for nefarious purposes SUV: Society of Ultimate Villainy.
